Day 1 : BAGDOGRA AIRPORT / NEW JALPAIGURI TO GANGTOK

On arrival at Bagdogra airport / New Jalpaiguri Rly. Station you will be received by our professional representative, who will be waiting for a warm welcome just outside of the airport (customs area)/ Rly. Station by your name plate /your referral and proceed for Gangtok (5500ft. /124 km. /4 hours), the capital city of Indian state of Sikkim (Sikkim is the 23rd.state of India). Sikkim is one the most beautiful state in India located in Eastern Himalaya and surrounded by High Mountain and deep valleys in between the Tibet in the north, Royal Bhutan in the East and Nepal in West. On arrival at Gangtok check in at your hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 2 : TSOMGO LAKE & BABA MANDIR TOUR

Today drive up for a memorable excursion tour to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft. /39 km), this is one of the highest altitude Himalayan Lake. Most beautiful this oval shape lake almost 1 km long with its average depth 50 ft and situated in east Sikkim Himalaya. Again drive up for Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial (13,000 ft/15 km/30 minute). Back to Gangtok and evening free for M.G Marg. the popular shopping area in Gangtok, Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3 : GANGTOK TO DARJEELING TRANSFER

Today proceed for Darjeeling (7,200 ft. / 95 km / 4 hours), The Queen of Hill’s. Arrivals at Darjeeling check in at your hotel. Evening free for walk in the Mall, where you will get curio and handicraft shop Overnight halt.

Day 4 : DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING TOUR

Early morning get ready for an exciting excursion tour to Tiger Hill (8,500 ft), the famous sunrise point in eastern Himalaya and get the breathtaking view of the changing colour reflection over the Mt. Khnagchendzonga peak and en route back to hotel visit Batasia Loop ,this is a war memorial also visit Ghoom Monastery ,one of the oldest monastery. After breakfast proceed for Himalayan Mountneening Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing rock, Tibetan refugee self- help centre (closed on Sunday), happy valley tea garden, Japanese temple & Peace pagoda. Day 5 : DARJEELING TO BAGDOGRA AIRPORT / NEW JALPAIGURI TRANSFER

Today is the farewell day of your magnificent tour so do spare few minute of your valuable time and write to tell us how much you enjoyed the tour, Today with many wonderful memories drive down to Bagdogra airport / New Jalpaiguri Rly. Station (124 km/ 4 hours) to catch flight or train for Guwahati

Day 6 : GUWAHATI TO SHILLONG TRANSFER

On arrival at Guwahati airport/Rail. Station you will be received by our representative who will be waiting for a warm welcome just outside of the airport (customs area) / Rail. Station by your nameplate /your referral and Proceed for Shillong (103 km), the capital of Meghalaya, the Scotland of the East. Swaddled amidst wraith-like mists is aptly called the abode of the clouds. It is one of India’s prettiest and youngest states (the 21st.) having split away from Assam in 1972.Standing out amongst the other states, for its unique traditional and natural beauty. On the way we will take a break for a lots of fun & entertainment with the boating/water sports in incredible Umiam Lake. From here shillong is just 17 kms. On arrival Check into hotel. Relax and evening take a glance of shillong Bazar which open till around 8.30 pm. Back to hotel.

Day 7 : CHERRAPUNJEE EXCURSION TOUR

Today after breakfast drive to Cherrapunji 56 km which experiences the heaviest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee, locally and officially known as Sohra, and a “must see” destination for all tourists. it was the headquarters of the Khasi/Jaintia province during British rule which was however shifted to Shillong in 1864, due to the inconvenience caused by excessive rain during the monsoon months. The average rainfall is 12,000 mm a year and the record for a single day was 2455 mm recorded in 1974 confirming it as the “Wettest place on Earth”. Cherranpunjee is impressive with its gushing waterfalls and the deep gorges. You will get stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Close to town are the glorious Nohsngithiang Falls( Mawsmai Falls), Dainthlen Falls, Nohkailikai Falls ( World’s forth hishest) and many small waterfalls. Also visit Mawsmai Cave-6 km from the cherranpunji market to the south lies the village of Mawsmai in the direction of Bangladesh border. Back to Shillong. Enjoy your Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 8 : SHILLONG TO KAZIRANGA

Today after early buffet breakfast/ with packet breakfast proceed for Kaziranga national park ( 350 kms/around 7 hours). Kaziranga National park is the oldest national park in Assam, situated in the south bank of the Brahmaputra River, is famous for its great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, of which there are aplenty. Spread across 430 sq km.

Day 9 : KAZIRANGA LOCAL EXCURSION

An elephant ride(Dec-May) in the national park gives a thrill with the view of great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, wild elephant, tiger, leopard, Buffalo, wild boar and many more. It is a dazzling mosaic of dense rain forest, tall elephant grass and swathes of reeds interspersed with vast tracts of marshes and shallow pools that are a favorite haunt of this celebrity pre-historic beast. Sikkim Assam Meghalaya tour itinerary

Day 01 guwahati.

Our 10 days Sikkim Assam and Meghalaya tour start today upon your arrival in Guwahati railway station/Airport. On arrival, our representative meets you and transfer to your hotel. After some refreshment, we will take you to Kamakhya Temple and local visit in Guwahati city. In the evening enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra river and transfer to your hotel.

Day 02 Guwahati - Cherrapunji

Today morning we will drive to Cherrapunji and visit Umium lake , Elephant Falls , Shillong peak enroute. On arrival at Cherrapunji check in to a hotel/resort. Cherrapunji is a stunning place dotted with comfortable and stunning resorts close to nature. Later visit Nohkhalika falls , Seven sisters falls , Dainthalan falls , Mawsmai cave and Eco Park.

Day 03 Cherrapunji - Mawlynnong(82km/2.5hr) - Shillong(78km/2.5hr)

Today we will go for a day trip to the Mawlynnong village and Dawki. We will visit the cleanest village in India Mawlynnong and go for a short trek in the Single-Decker Living root bridge located nearby in the Riwai village. You can also have a lunch of authentic Khasi dish and ride on the top of a sky walk to enjoy the bird eye view of Bangladesh. Later we will go for boating in the Dawki and enjoy some water sports and spend the night in a hotel at Shillong. The evening is free for shopping in the Shillong.

Day 04 Shillong - Kaziranga National Park (182km/5hr)

Today we start early and drive to Kaziranga National Park. It is around 8 hrs drive and we have our lunch in a roadside eatery. On reaching Kaziranga check-in at a resort. You can feel one with nature here and spend the night comfortably in a cozy resort. Note: Kaziranga remains closed from May - October.

Day 05 Kaziranga

On the day 5 of our 10 days Sikkim Assam Meghalaya tour we experience a close encounter with the wild animals at Kaziranga. Today we do early morning Elephant Safari and afternoon Jeep safari in two major ranges of Kaziranga namely Western range and Central range or vice versa. In between we also visit Kaziranga orchid park and tribal villages.

Day 06 Kaziranga - New Jalpaiguri via Guwahati

On day 6 of our Assam Meghalaya Sikkim tour, we drive back to Guwahati after breakfast. Had lunch in a roadside Dhaba and drop you at Guwahati railway station for the onward journey to NJP railway station.

Day 07 NJP(New Jalpaiguri) - Gangtok (118km/4-5hr)

On arrival at the NJP railway station, our representative will meet you and drive to Gangtok. After reaching Gangtok check-in at your hotel. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the bustling streets of MG Marg market in Gangtok. Indulge in shopping for local handicrafts and souvenirs, and treat yourself to the delectable flavors of Sikkimese cuisine.

Day 08 Gangtok

Today we go for sightseeing in the Gangtok city, state capital of Sikkim. We take you to the highest viewpoint in Gangtok Tashi View Point after that we visit Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok . Later we visit Ban Jhakri Falls Park , Bakthang Waterfalls , Enchey Monastery and stop at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and Do drul chorten to acquainted yourself more about Buddhism. Later end your day with a visit to Gangtok Ropeway and return to your hotel for a comfortable stay.

The day 9th of the Assam Meghalaya Sikkim tour is the most wonderful one. Today we drive to see snow-covered Nathula Pass , Tsomgo Lake and Baba Harbhajan Mandir situated 54 km from Gangtok. It requires 6 - 7hours to complete the whole trip. Nathula Pass is located in China's occupied Tibet Autonomous Region border. We drive through a part of the old silk route to Nathula Pass. In the evening return back to Gangtok.

Day 01: – Mumbai / Delhi /Pune-Bagdogra-Gangtok

Arrive at New Jalpaiguri station or Bagdogra airport and proceed to Gangtok. You will be reaching Gangtok in afternoon. After lunch relax and in the evening visit MG market get absorbed to living in Gangtok. End your day Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 02: – Gangtok sight seeing

After breakfast, proceed for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.), Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) & Nathula Pass These are around 55 kms away from Gangtok city. Tsomgo Lake is subject to weather and road conditions. While conming back to Gangtok visit you can cover some of the places like Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Enchey Monastery, Flower Show and more then back to hotel – Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center – There are few discotheques in Gangtok to spend time – Over Night stay at Gangtok

Day 03: – Darjeeling Local Sight seeing

Darjeeling is known to home of World Heritage Train. So, Arrive at Darjeeling and check into your hotel. Evening free to roam around Mall or Local Shopping Center. Overnight stay at Hotel in Darjeeling

Day 04 :- Early morning around 04:00 hrs visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. On the way back visit Ghoom Monestry, Peace Memorial and Batasia Loop then back to Hotel for breakfast. After breakfast Half Day city tour includes Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Sunday Closed), Peace Pagoda & Transfer to Gangtok , over night at Darjeeling.

Day 05: – Darjeeling – Siliguri-Guwahati – Shillong

After breakfast, proceed to Bagdogra Airport or siliguri train where you can leave to guwahati. On arrival at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport Guwahati or train station you will be greeted with a traditional welcome by our representative waiting outside the arrival gate. You will then travel to Kamakhya temple & then proceed to Shillong the capital of Meghalaya. Known as the ‘Scotland of the East’. Overnight stay at the hotel in shillong

Day 06: – Shilong – Cherapunji – Shillong

After breakfast visit Shillong Peak and then proceed to Cherrapunji, which is also known as Sohra and earlier it was known heavy rainfall in the world. On arrival at Cherrapunji, visit Elepahnt Waterfalls, Nohkalikai Falls – one of the highest waterfalls with 1115 Ft. After lunch visit, Seven Sister Falls. On returning back visit Mawsmai cave, an 150 Mtr cave. Visit the Living Root Bridge, a natural bridge formed with the roots of the trees. Overnight in Shillong

Day 07: – Shillong – Mawylong -Dawki-Shillong

After breakfast drive to Mawylong village. Regarded as cleanest village in Asia you can experience this unique place. apart from this you can visit much awaited Dawki river to check out clear and transparent water ride.

Day 08: – Shillong – Guwahati

After breakfast check-out of your accommodation and you will be then taken to the Guwahati Airport.

Day 8 Leave to Kaziranga . upon arrival relax and get ready to experience kaziranga sanctuary

The day 9th of the Assam Meghalaya Sikkim tour is the most wonderful one. Today we drive to see snow-covered Nathula Pass, Tsomgo Lake and Baba Harbhajan Mandir situated 54 km from Gangtok. It requires 6 - 7hours to complete the whole trip. Nathula Pass is located in China's occupied Tibet Autonomous Region border. We drive through a part of the old silk route to Nathula Pass. Embark on full day trips to vast national parks, including Kaziranga National Park, home to two-thirds of the world’s one-horned rhinos, as well as wild boar, tigers, elephants, panthers and some incredible birdlife.
Learn about the proud warrior traditions of the Naga people and their resistance against colonial forces, exploring hillside villages like Khonoma and Kigwema.
Visit a lush Khasi village dubbed the cleanest in India by the former prime minister, then hike to a living root bridge that looks like something out of a fairy tale.
Gaze out at the Himalayas from the Darjeeling Toy Train as it winds its way through the mountains – it doesn’t get much more fun than a steam-powered locomotive ride.

We cover a lot of ground on this trip. There are some long travel days by train and van, including on winding mountain or bumpy local roads, particularly in Nagaland. It's not unusual for journeys to take longer than estimated and travel times to vary from one departure to the next.
Parts of this trip travel to over 2000 me above sea level. It can get colder than you might expect in India so make sure you check the weather at your time of travelling to help you pack and bring a jacket and layers just in case.

Namaste! Welcome to India. Your adventure begins in vibrant Kolkata – a hub for Bengali theatre, dance, poetry, art, music and film. You’ll have a welcome meeting at 6 pm tonight. If you arrive early, maybe visit the grand Victoria Memorial and spend some time relaxing in the attached park. Tonight, why not head out for a welcome dinner with your group – your trip leader will always have some great suggestions.

It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late please let your travel agent or hotel reception know. Ask reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.

This morning after breakfast, you’ll take a private transfer to the airport and board a flight to Dimapur. When you arrive, you’ll have some time for lunch before driving to Kohima – the capital city of Nagaland – stopping along the way to stretch your legs. Arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy a free evening, to relax at your accommodation or take a walk around the colourful houses in town to get your bearings.

Your travel time today will be approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Set off in the morning on a half-day excursion to Khonoma Village, stopping at Kigwema Village on the way – a traditional Naga village. The Naga people are the Indigenous people of northeastern India and northwest Myanmar, made up of a variety of tribes that share similar customs and warrior roots. After meeting the locals here, continue to Khonoma, where the Angami Nagas held off British forces from coming into their hills. In 1897, after an invading British officer was killed, a bloody war raged for a year before a peace treaty was signed. The resistance of the local Nagas is held in high regard across Nagaland. Today, the inhabitants of Khonoma place a lot of emphasis on wildlife conservation and you’ll about the Khonoma Nature Conservation and the Tragopan Sanctuary while you’re here. This afternoon, visit the Naga Heritage Village for a glimpse into traditional tribal life and see some historic remnants from the 19th-century British invasion. Then, visit the World War II memorial (if time permits), before heading back to your accommodation for the night.

This morning, leave Kohima and drive towards Jorhat. Grab a window seat if you can and watch the rolling scenery pass you by. When you arrive this afternoon, you’ll visit the local tea plantations for a tasting and a visit to the Tocklai Tea Research Center. Walk around the lush surroundings of the plantations and learn why this is an important industry for Assam’s growing urban centre. Later, you’ll have a free evening to relax, find some dinner or go for a walk.

Your travel time today will be approximately 6 hours.

November is the start of arid season for tea gardens in India, and limited activities are available during this time. If the tea plantation visit is not possible, your trip leader will organise a different activity.

Travel to Majuli today – located on the Brahmaputra River, this is one of the largest river islands in the world and has been the cultural capital of Assam ever since the 16th century. Take a ferry to the island, looking out for the many migratory birds that call this place home. When you arrive, visit the Anuati, Uttar and Kamalabari satras (monasteries that are linked with the Ekasarana tradition of Vaishnavism). Interact with the local monks here with a visit to the monk’s quarters. Then, visit the Mishing tribal village, a pottery making village and a mask making village to learn about the local handicrafts and cultural traditions. Later, return to Jorhat for the night.

After the breakfast this morning, take a private transfer to Kaziranga National Park – this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the oldest park in Assam and sits right on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. Kaziranga is a natural habitat dedicated to the conservation of the biologically diverse flora and fauna within. The park is also home to the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses and shelters about 15 different species of India's most threatened mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears. After some free time for lunch, you’ll have the option to visit the Kaziranga Orchid Center before soaking up a free afternoon. Tonight, enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant.

Your travel time today will be approximately 2 hours.

Set out on two jeep safaris through Kaziranga National Park today, scheduled for the early morning and the evening to maximise the chances of spotting wildlife. Look out for elephants, deer, wild boar and, of course, the famed one-horned rhino. Local birdlife is also plentiful, so keep an eye on the sky to spot eagles, parakeets, blue-tinged Indian rollers and more.

Kaziranga National Park is open from the 1st of November the 30th of April. Safaris in October and May are limited to within a few kms and are subject to flooding. A scanned copy of your passport is needed at time of booking to secure a permit for your safari. The safety of the travellers is the highest concern, and your trip leader has the authority to cancel or reschedule the safari if they believe the vehicles available do not meet safety standards.

After breakfast, leave Kaziranga and drive towards Shillong. When you arrive, head out for an orientation walk with your leader. For dinner tonight, the street food in town is recommended, so you might want to head out straight after your walk for some momos (dumplings) and chutney or local specialty jadoh (spicy and sour rice).

Drive to Mawlynnong today. This tiny village has made a huge commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly living – efforts that saw it crowned ‘Asia’s Cleanest Village’ by India’s former prime minister. When you arrive, take a walk around the gleaming, litter-free streets among the Khasi residents, then head out for a 1.5-hour hike to the nearby living root bridge. The bridge is a perfect example of the art of tree sculpting, practiced by the Khasi people. Stop at Dawki and admire the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River and the border of Bangladesh. Return to Shillong this afternoon and if time (and group energy) permits, maybe walk to Shillong Peak for some gorgeous views over the town for sunset.

Enjoy a leisurely morning, then say goodbye to Shillong and travel to Guwahati. From here, you’ll take an overnight train to New Jalpaiguri, departing at around 10 pm.

Rise and shine early this morning as the train pulls into New Jalpaiguri at around 6 am. Make tracks for Darjeeling, where you can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure among the Himalayan mountains. Maybe take a stroll around the town to check out the colonial-era architecture backdropped by mountain peaks. If you're feeling the effects of a few long travel days, maybe just find a spot to enjoy a cuppa as you gaze up at the spectacular views of the Himalayas (weather-depending).

Darjeeling - Tiger Hill

Take an early morning walk to Tiger Hill today to catch a glorious sunrise over the snowy peak of Kanchenjunga – the world’s third-highest mountain. Then, return to Darjeeling for a few hours at leisure. In the afternoon, you’ll transfer to Ghoom and board the Darjeeling Toy Train. Winding your way through the mountain, this classic steam-powered locomotive is probably the most romantic way to experience the Himalayan landscape.

Head to Gangtok this morning. This is the capital of the northeastern state of Sikkim. Its chaotically laid-out townscape and jovial atmosphere make it a nice place to walk around. Maybe head to a local viewpoint and if it's clear, spot the majestic peak of Khangchendzonga in the distance. Tonight, you’re free to find a local dinner or find a good spot to watch the sunset.

Sprawling down a mountain ridge, Gangtok is a haven for Tibetan Buddhists. This morning, you’ll visit the monastery at Rumtek – also called the Dharma Chakra Centre, this monastery is the centre of the Karmapa controversy. A lengthy battle has been played out in the Indian courts, with two rival organisations (the Tsuphu Labrang and the Karmapa Charitable Trust) each supporting a different candidate for the 17th Karmapa, claiming stewardship of the monastery and all its contents. Since 1992, the monastery has been the site of pitched battles between monks supporting the two different candidates. After, maybe take up a hike to the old Gompa, a little further down the road. In your spare time this afternoon, maybe pick up some local tea or explore the Tibetology Museum.

Gangtok - Rumtek Monastery

Drive to the airport in Bagdogra this morning, then fly back to Kolkata. On arrival in New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport, make your way to your hotel in Gangtok. The remainder of the day is free to explore this beautiful city. Stay and dinner at the hotel.

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

Early morning, post breakfast, embark jeep to reach Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft), a high altitude sacred lake. It is located on the Gangtok - Nathu La highway and derives its water through the melting snows of the mountains enclosing the lake. Further, you will visit Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.), which is approximately 55 km from Gangtok. After a tiring sightseeing tour, return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

P.S. : There's the slightest possibility that Tsomgo Lake might be closed due to landslide issue. If Tsomgo Lake is not open for sightseeing, we will arrange an alternative place for you.

Gangtok – Lachen (107 km / 6 hrs)

Post breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Lachen, a tiny hamlet in the North Sikkim. During your journey, from Gangtok to Lachen, you will enjoy a small break at Naga Waterfall, The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) & Lachung Chu (River) at Chungthang and Bhim Nala Waterfall. On arrival at Lachen, you will be transferred to hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Lachen – Chopta Valley – Gurudongmar Lake- Lachen

Today, follow the nerve wrenching hilly roads and head towards Chopta Valley, a relatively unexplored and untouched region in Northwestern region of Sikkim. After driving for few kilometer from Chopta Valley, you will visit Gurudongmar Lake, which is considered as sacred by both Buddhists and Sikhs. The best about the lake is despite its location it never freezes even in the peak of winter. Later, continue your ride back to Lachen hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Lachen – Lachung (45 km / 2 hrs)

Post breakfast, leave for Lachung, which is 45 km from Lachen. Upon arrival at Lachen, you will be transferred to hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Lachung – Yumthang Valley Excursion – Gangtok

Post breakfast, drive to Yumthang Valley (12,000 ft), which is also known as the valley of flowers. On your way back to the hotel from Yumthang Valley, you will be visiting a hot spring, which is believed to have some medicinal properties. Head back to the resort for lunch, check ou and head towards Gangtok. On the way if the weather is clear you may get to see Mighty Khangchendzonga from Singhik viewpoint. On arrival at Gangtok check-in to your hotel. Rest of the evening will be free for leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Gangtok – Pelling (150 km / 5 hrs) via Chardham

Post breakfast, you will hop in the four-wheeler, which will take you to Pelling. On your way to Pelling, you will pass through some attractions of Namchi i.e. Temi Tea Garden, Samdruptse & Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham). In Siddheshwar Dham, you can see miniatures of the Indian Char Dhams located in India i.e. Jagannath Dham in East, Dwarka Dham in West, Badrinath Dham in north and Rameshwaram in South. It also has 108 feet. Statue of Lord Shiva enclosed by the 12 'Lingas', a temple of Shirdi Sai Baba and an effigy of Lord Kirateshwara. On arrival at Gangtok, you will check in a hotel, for overnight stay and dinner.

Pelling Sightseeing

Get your cameras ready as today you will be going for a sightseeing tour to Sikkim. In the first half of the day, you will be visiting Darap village, Rimbi water Falls, Khecheopalri Lake and Khangchendzongha waterfalls. For lunch, you will enjoy a stop at some good restaurant. In the second half of the day, you will be visiting Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse Ruins, and New Helipad Ground. After the sightseeing tour, head back to the hotel for stay and dinner.

Pelling – NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport (136 km / 5 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Bagdogra Airport or NJP railway station for reaching your onward destination.

If you’re looking to experience the beauty of nature in bloom within Gangtok, the best time to go is spring, from March through May. On the other hand, the autumn season provides stunning views of the Himalayan Range. You can participate in many festivals during this time, such as the Maniram Bhanjyang Tourism Festival, Cherry Tree Festival and the Red Panda Winter Festival. However, the ideal time for a trip to Gangtok is dependent on personal preferences and convenience. If for instance,you love snow and can bear low temperatures, you should go to Gangtok in winter. Mesmerising sikkim tour package for 8 days at a glance.

Arrive at NJP Railway Station or the IXB Airport. Meet a representative at the station and travel to the hotel via cab. Check-in at the hotel and take the day off, meaning to enjoy it at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast in the morning, we will start an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) and Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.), which are about 55 km one way from Gangtok city. After exploring the lake and the temple, return back to your hotel in Gangtok for an overnight stay.

In the morning, we will drive to Lachen (9,400 ft, 118 km). On the way, we will visit Seven Sister Waterfalls. Later, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Check in at the hotel in the late afternoon. Rest of the day is free to relax followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Lachen.

Early in the morning start for Gurudongmar Lake Tour [Altitude 5,154 m / 70 kms / 03 hrs] one of the most sacred lakes believed by the Buddhists and Hindus alike. The lake is situated almost 65km from Lachen and it takes almost 3 hrs to reach there. The beautiful and awe-inspiring lake remains milky in color throughout the year. According to a legend, since the lake used to remain frozen most of the year, it was not possible to use its water for drinking purposes. When the Guru Padmasambhava passed by, while returning from Tibet, the local residents are reported to have approached him for providing a source of water.

After breakfast, excursion to Yumthang Valley - the valley full of Snow in winter and Rhododendron during May (11800ft/1.5Hrs), is the main attraction around. You can also visit Zero Point (at Extra Cost subject to Permit and Road Condition). Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary - Spread over 43 sq km through which flows the Yumthang river, it adjoins Lachung and Yumthang. The Sanctuary which is known for its abundance of Rhododendron shrubs and trees is rich in ground flora and other vegetation as well.

After breakfast in the morning, transferred to Pelling. Nestling at an altitude of 2150 m, Pelling offers mesmerizing views of Himalayan ranges, Kanchenjunga, and various other mountains. The city is enveloped in the verdant cover of Alpine forests and is lined with numerous waterfalls.

Early morning, post breakfast treat yourself to the beautiful view of mountains.Pelling tour will be in two parts. In the first half of the day, you will be visiting Rimbi water falls, Khecheopalri Lake & Khangchendzongha waterfalls. Then in the second half, you will visit Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins,Pelling Skywalk and Sangacholing Monastery. Dinner and overnight stay at Pelling hotel.

In the morning you can stroll about in the small hamlet around. Later on, check out and drive to NJP / Bagdogra for return journey, and cherish your holiday forever.

As suggested by Sikkim Tourism, the best time to visit Sikkim is either between March and May or October and mid-December. If you want to witness the blooming natural beauty in Gangtok best season to visit would be in spring, from March to May.

Snowfall in Gangtok is rare. However, places like Tsomgo Lake, Kupup Lake, Lachung, Lachen, Yumthang and Zero Point witness heavy snowfall during winters. Therefore, winter is the best time to go to Sikkim if someone wants to see snow.

It is a popular destination thanks to its natural scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage. From exploring natural wonders like lakes and waterfalls, engaging in shopping, to unveiling the secrets of historical ruins, there are tonnes of things to do in Pelling

Tsomgo lake is not in or even very near to Gangtok. Rather, it’s a day-trip from there so, unless there are other things that particularly interest you there, Pelling would seem the better bet. Tsomgo lake is more remote than Pelling and harder to reach, though this depends, of course, from where you’re traveling.

Booking was easy. Food was good. Enjoyed local food. Hotels were good. Taxi drivers were also very polite and cooperative. Tour managers Jitendra & Nimikesh were very caring, courteous and helpful. We loved the fact that it was very well organized and structured. We were informed a day prior about the next day's itinerary. Itinerary (Day Wise)

Guwahati – kaziranga (2 nights).

Tour Guests will arrive at Guwahati Airport as per their Scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to Kaziranga – where wildlife roams fearlessly and enjoy a beautiful rendezvous with nature. En route we visit Maha Mrityunjai Temple – renowned as the World's Tallest Shivling at about 126 feet high. Upon arrival, we have free time for relaxing.

Today we experience a thrilling jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park for wildlife viewing. We will come face to face with one horned rhino’s, elephants, deer’s and rare migratory birds. Later we visit Orchid Park – an orchid house with over 600 species from Northeast India, bamboo and medicinal herb gardens, a cactus house and a handicrafts museum. In the evening we enjoy the spectacular Bihu dance – an indigenous folk dance of Assam.

Kaziranga – Shillong (3 Nights)

Today we proceed to Shillong – The capital of Meghalaya. En route we enjoy the view of beautiful Umiam Lake.

Shillong – Mawlynnong – Shillong

Today we explore Mawlynnong village which has been awarded as the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’. We visit the Balancing Rock and the Living Root Bridge – Centuries old bridges grown from tangled roots. Later we proceed to see the crystal clear waters of Dawki river and enjoy boating on the river. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. We also visit India - Bangladesh border at Tamabil. In the evening, we have free time for relaxing and exploring the surroundings.

Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong

Today we visit Cathedral of Mary, Elephant Falls and Ram Krishna Mission. Later we proceed to Cherrapunjee – officially known as Sohra. It is the wettest place on earth. We also visit Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls, and Nohkalikai Fall – the tallest plunge waterfall in India. In the evening, we have free time to enjoy shopping in local market.

Shillong – Guwahati (2 Nights)

Today we proceed to Guwahati. Upon arrival, we have free time to relax and explore the surroundings.

Today we visit the Kamakhya Temple – one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country and enjoy a ride in the longest river ropeway over the Brahmaputra. Get a panoramic view of Umananda Temple, Peacock Island, the Brahmaputra River and the surrounding hills. Later we sail over the River Cruise in Brahmaputra.

Guwahati – Departure

As everyone is becoming a frequent traveller now, we suggest that you make your own travel accessories kit to ensure a stress free holiday.
