Pat Benatar Kicks Off 2024 Tour: Set List and Video

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo kicked off their Funtastic 2024 Tour on Friday at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California.

Their set included a myriad of classics like "Shadows of the Night," "You Better Run," "Love Is a Battlefield" and more.

Benatar will take a break after a May 11 show in Pomona, California, resuming her tour in early July and staying on the road through mid-August, with stops throughout the United States. The trek is scheduled to conclude on Aug. 16 at the Pend Oreille Pavilion in Airway Heights, Washington.

Pat Benatar on 2022 Rock Hall Induction

Benatar and Giraldo were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, more than two decades after first becoming eligible. The singer held out until she could be inducted alongside Giraldo, her husband, guitarist and songwriting partner.

"There were many, many years when it was tossed around about going in [to the Rock Hall] or not going in," Benatar told  Billboard . "I was just kind of adamant about going in together, and it was pretty much a 'no,' and so, 'I guess I'm not going in then,' and that was it. That's how it was for a very long time, so I'm very, very pleased it's going the way it is right now."

"From day one, Patricia and I really did this together," Giraldo told  Billboard  separately. "I was in the studio every single second. I know where every single note is buried. The greatness of Patricia is she was so extremely secure that when we met she just wanted to sing and she was looking for a partner to kind of do the rest, which I loved. I was happy just to do everything I could to write and produce great records. It was a match made in heaven."

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo’s 2023 Tour Features Select Dates with P!nk

Just a few months following their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2022, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo are ready to kick off their 2023 headlining tour , including a number of dates with P!nk.

Starting the tour on March 9, the duo will join Sheryl Crow —who inducted the pair into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame—along with James Taylor , John Mayer Trio, Allison Russell, St. Vincent, Gary Clark Jr., The War and Treaty, and more artists for the seventh annual Love Rocks NYC 2023 concert in New York City. The event will benefit the charity Gods Love We Deliver .

The tour will continue with a majority of dates along the East Coast and additional shows in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee, before wrapping up in Los Angeles on October 5.

Prior to their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, the couple premiered their stage musical  Invincible – The Musical . Directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene ( Hamilton ), the reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic  Romeo and Juliet also featured music from Benatar and Giraldo’s catalog. The production ran from November 2 through December 17 at The Wallis Bram Goldsmith Theater in Beverly Hills, California.

Benatar and Giraldo first began working together for her 1979 debut In the Heat of the Night. The two became a couple and married in 1982 with Giraldo continuing to serve as her guitarist and primary songwriting partner and producer on every album since then.

Pat Benetar is a rock legend. She and Neil Giraldo still put on a great show, three dozen years after they started. Pat's voice is still in good shape, and both she and Neil tell the history of their songs through the course of the night.

As you get toward the end of the night, there's more of a sing-along than a concert, but that's not their fault. :-)

I'd recommend the show to any fan of her music -- so many hits, delivered with the power of a legend.

Had a great time at the concert inNJ balloon festival. I have seen Pat quite a few times and have sang hit me with your best shot on stage in Philly. She is simply amazing!!! pat Benatar and her music is important to my family and myself, many memories growing up and we still love her! It was great to have my sister and cousins with me to reminisce. I will be going to Baltimore' s show in September. Wet and greet VIP I cannot wait!!! She will always be my favorite

I love Pat and Neil. I always have. I was very dissappointed in the show at Rialto. It was way over priced at $75 + $25 fee for a little over an hour of stories and little music. We paid for "Full Band" Prices and got very little. Her voice and his guitar playing are awesome, but we felt the were "cashing in", not paying their band and still charging band prices. I would most definitely go see them again but only full band.

The first time listening to Pat and Neil acoustically perform was impressive. Their talent is perfection with Neil's excellent guitar rhythm and Pat's voice put this show as a 10 star rated from 10 to 1. This is a memorable performance of songs years back as a teenager to songs I heard for the first time. This is one show you must see and experience for all Pat fans and newbies. Excellence at its best!

Amazing!!!! We we had great seats, about 4 rows away . We're able to go to the side and shake our booties to our hearts content . Toto was equally as amazing being the opening act. Perfect weather, people all behaved which is always a plus.

All around an excellent time was had. They can so rock a stage like they were still in their 20's, trully impressive!!!

The performance was nice. They did a wonderful job. I believe it depends on the cost paid for your ticket. The entire event, including our hotel was ~$1000.00. My expectation was more. I guess I was looking for a more dynamic performance and possibly more fan interaction. However, if one paid the base ticket price, it would have definitely worth it.

Pat can still rock the real world! Shows people love and marriage can last and stand the test of time with her husband Neil. Thank God for the great music they made together cause they are still a big hit! The heat was horrendous but they still have one hell of a show with Melissa Etheridge!!! Duet please!!!! Thanks for the Rockie' time last night!!

Show was awesome. Such a good blend of sounds with the Symphony behind them. Only wish they had done a few more of their classic songs like Hit me with Your Best Shot and Sex as a Weapon. But overall it was an awesome show. Patricia's (as her husband so finely calls her) voice is still as amazing as it was in the 80's!

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. It was an acoustic set. Which isn’t normally my favorite. But they did a great job with it. Pats voice was as powerful and as pure as ever. I highly recommend seeing this show!

Awesome concert!! Had the best time ever!!!!Voice and guitar was amazing!! An experience I will always remember! The music was rocking and the crowd was singing along. They put on an amazing show!!

Grammy-winning couple Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo will be launching a huge 2024 tour across America surrounding their appearance at Lakefront Music Fest. Their Fantastic 2024 Tour kicks off July 6th in Atlantic City and extends into August making noteworthy stops in Washington DC, Rochester Hills, New York, Denver, Las Vegas and Paso Robles. The duo recently wrapped up their De Novo Tour in 2023 before joining P!nk during portions of her Summer Carnival tour.

Benatar and Giraldo were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022 by Sheryl Crow . Three years prior, the legendary pair celebrated their 40th anniversary with a massive North American tour along with special guest Melissa Etheridge . Back in 2014, they teamed up with Rick Springfield , Cheap Trick and John Waite on separate occasions before embarking on their own 35th Anniversary Tour which took place the following year and visited 27 markets across America.

In a pop culture world defined by its perpetual changes, the partnership of singer songwriter Pat Benatar and producer-musician Neil Giraldo has been a potent, steadfast union that has soared to the top of the charts and into fans’ hearts on their own terms. Her staggering vocals and take-no-prisoners attitude, along with his trailblazing artistry as a guitarist, producer and songwriter, forged the undeniable chemistry and unique sound that created eternal rock hits including “ We Belong ,” “Invincible ,” “ Love Is A Battlefield ,” “ Promises In The Dark ,” “ We Live For Love ,” “Heartbreaker ” and “ Hell Is For Children .”

Their stunning achievements are a testament to their vision. Together, Benatar and Giraldo have created two multi-platinum, five platinum and three gold albums, as well as 19 Top 40 hits. Invincible will hit Coshocton concert series with their best shot Saturday

• The 2024 summer concert series on the Coshocton Court Square kicks off at 7:30 p.m. June 22 with the Pat Benatar tribute act Invincible with members from Portage and Summit counties.
• The group was formed 15 years ago by Michelle McDowell as the Pat Benatar and Lee Silvis as the Neil Giraldo, Benatar's husband.
• Benatar and Giraldo wre inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 and had a dozen top 40 hits in the 1980s with four making the top 10.

COSHOCTON − Although a pure product of the 1980s, the lead singer of a Pat Benatar tribute act believes her music is timeless.

Invincible, led by Michelle McDowell and Lee Silvis, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the Coshocton Court Square as part of the free summer concert series of the City of Coshocton and Our Town Coshocton. The band also features Kristin Kretzler on keyboards and vocals, Roy Tanner on bass and vocals, Danny Sidoti on guitar and Marty Zlocki on drums. They're based in the Portage and Summit counties area.

Along with Benatar's hits, the band also performs other songs of the 1980s.

"It's the energy and the excitement of people who love live music," McDowell said of performing shows. "Being a tribute band, they are coming there because they love Pat Benatar. Not only do they know most of the songs, they know the hits, the know some of less known ones. They know those as well and it's a thrill watching them sing with us and their enjoyment."

Pat Benatar and her husband Neil Giraldo were inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Benatar won the Grammy Award for best female rock vocal performance from 1981 to 1984. She had a dozen top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Love is a Battlefield," "We Belong" and "Invincible" making the top 10. Her albums "Crimes of Passion," "Precious Time" and "Get Nervous" made the top five.

"She was one of the first female rockers to pave the way for the young female rock artists of today," McDowell said. "She had a lot of strong, powerful music. It wasn't these heartbroken love songs. 'Love is a Battlefield' and 'Hell is for Children' are very powerful songs about what she was very passionate about."

Silvis and McDowell are in the 15th year of their partnership. McDowell said, much like Benatar, she didn't start out as a rock singer. She has a degree in musical theater and began her career in musicals and live shows at Cedar Point.

She auditioned for a project Silvis already had which featured songs by a variety of female rock singers. McDowell said the Benatar songs always got the best reaction when performed live, which led to them leaving the band and forming Bringing Benatar, which became Invincible.

"Every time we'd get done (with the first band), people would be like, "God, you nailed the Pat Benatar. Have you ever thought about doing a tribute band.' At that point we weren't. But, as that occurred more and more, Lee would kind of look at me, tilt his head and give me this look and I'd be 'I know. I know,'" McDowell said. "Finally, when that band broke up he said 'about time to get that Pat Benatar tribute band off the ground.' And we've been doing this ever since."

McDowell knows seeing her isn't like seeing Benatar, but they do their best to produce an authentic experience. For some fans, it's just not feasible for them to see the real artist, even if they are still touring like Benatar.

"Most of the tribute bands I know are pretty high caliber. You get a good taste of your favorite artist," she said.

Vindys singer Jackie Popovec talks Pittsburgh show & supporting Pat Benatar on the road

PITTSBURGH ― We've come to think of The Vindys as sort-of a local band, right?

Hailing from just-up-the-road, in Youngstown, Ohio, the high-energy rockers have warmed audiences at two Donnie Iris birthday concerts, after all, and had a song "Are You Ready?" featured in a Pittsburgh Pirates promo. The Vindys also played local places like Wooley Bully's Juke-Joint in New Brighton, the Harmony Inn, Stage AE as part of the Women Who Rock cancer research fundraiser and the Three Rivers Arts Festival.

This summer, the Vindys amp up their national presence on a tour supporting Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo.

Catch the Vindys closer to home June 22, when the band headlines Thunderbird Music Cafe in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood. The Roof opens the 8 p.m., 21-and-older show for which tickets cost $15 at thunderbirdmusichall.com.

"It's special to me, because this is our first-time headlining Pittsburgh since I honestly can't remember," the Vindys' vivacious lead vocalist Jackie Popovec, said. "It's such a shame because we're just 50 minutes away."

The Vindys savored their 2022 and 2023 performances at UPMC Events Center in Moon, joining The Clarks as warmup acts for Beaver Valley's resident rock star Iris.

"I feel we've really become like a family, with Donnie Iris' clan and The Clarks as well," Popovec said. "It's funny to be in this industry and circling around each other and seeing what each one is doing and always having each others' backs."

At that 2022 show, Popovec even wore an Iris concert T-shirt on stage, joining King Cool and The Clarks' Scott Blasey on a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" and The Beatles' "A Little Help From My Friends."

"I don't know where I found that shirt, maybe a thrift store? I'm a big collector of band tees," Popevec said. "The first time we opened for him, I think it was at the Canton Palace Theatre, I had him sign it for me. Since then, we've become good friends."

She tried partaking in one of Iris' monthly cigar gatherings at Jergel's Rhythm Grille, but quickly learned cigars were not her thing.

"I couldn't hang with him at a cigar bar, but we keep in close contact and text every once in awhile."

The upcoming Pittsburgh show will showcase Popovec's soulful, sultry singing style, teamed with searing guitar sounds from John Anthony and Rick Deak, plus the enticing grooves and textures of Owen Davis on drums, Brendan Burke on bass and Nathan Anthony on keys.

The Vindys are starting to road-test new and unreleased music.

"I'd like to gauge the interest in some of our newer music," Popovec said last Tuesday morning in a phone interview after a workout class.

The past few years, the Vindys core six-member band regularly has added a trombone, saxophone and trumpet player for live dates.

"I really like it because I lean toward a jazzier vocal, and the guys are so heavy rocking on the guitars," Popovec said. "It balances out the whole band, kind of like (Pittsburgh's) The Commonheart. The more the merrier to me. We all play our parts and I like the dynamic we have on stage."

Blending pop and soul into their sound, The Vindys formed in 2014 after meeting at the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. The band's name pays homage to their roots by referencing Youngstown’s daily newspaper, The Vindicator.

The Vindys have shared the stage with Marcus King, ZZ Top and Phillip Phillips, with the group's “Are You Ready” used to promote several sports franchises as well as ESPN commercials. The Vindys music video for “Bugs” screened at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City as one of only eight music videos selected alongside national artists like The Black Keys and Lizzo.

That sophomore album, "Bugs," blends rock, blues, and vintage pop, designed to be versatile enough for a jazzy supper club or rock and roll arena.

A sound versatile enough for the horn section and Popovec's soulful voice to make Black Sabbath's thundering "War Pigs" an electrifying cover choice in Vindys shows the past several years.

"We always look for the one song that would mix into our own music in and out of the song in the same key. I'm always searching for those older songs that people may have forgotten about, or they love but haven't heard a ton on the radio lately," Popovec said. "We also do the Allman Brothers' 'Whipping Post' in and out of one of our songs. I like to throw a curveball at the audience. We are such a dynamic group, however if you throw in Black Sabbath and people are like 'The Vindys just did Black Sabbath?' Your mind just explodes with like, 'why did they just do that?' And 'how dare they think they can do that' (laughs). And 'oh my, God, they just pulled it off.'"

Popovec's well-seasoned, and in some cases classically trained, bandmates "are improv masters," she said. "So I'm able to have fun with it."

That improv experience should come in handy when July rolls around, and The Vindys begin trying to win over audiences at Benatar's concerts.

"We're super grateful for the opportunity," Popovec said. "She's one of the top five voices I tried to emulate when I was growing up. I was a bored kid and I'd try to repeat all these massive voices like Whitney Houston and Ann Wilson from Heart and Pat Benatar."

Seeing the operatic trained Benatar still dazzling on vocals at age 71 inspires Popovec and gives her confidence she will have a long career as a singer, too.

Sometime this month, The Vindys will release a new single to coincide with the Benatar tour that stretches from Atlantic City to Las Vegas, over to L.A., and up to Washington State.

The tour actually delayed the release of the Vindys' forthcoming and still-untitled new album.

"This tour happened so last minute, we had to switch gears. We actually had blocked off all July and August to record the new album and release it," Popovec said. "But when Pat Benatar calls, you can't say no."

Popovec said she felt proud and a bit overwhelmed to have been chosen as one of five prominent Youngstowners profiled in an Ohio PBS station's documentary about that east Ohio city.

"I represented the Vindys, of course. I can't believe we've been able to do all we've done, but it's because we're standing on the shoulders of greats like Donnie Iris and Michael Stanley up in Cleveland and Belkin Productions and all the northeast Ohio rock legends."

They're Ohioans, though Beaver County can lay a bit of a claim.

As Vindys guitarist John Anthony said in a 2021 interview with The Times, "My family's all from Beaver County. I grew up in New Castle," he said, "but my mom's side is from New Brighton and my dad's side is from Rochester."
