The new Mumbai-Goa cruise will offer a luxe travel experience, starting ₹7,500

The Mumbai Goa cruise service will be in business much sooner than you think. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced on Friday that the cruise will set sail from Mumbai on October 1 after successful trials which began in March. This announcement means that you and your old college buddies can actually follow through on your next Goa plan that's been haunting your WhatsApp group since forever. The cruise happens to be the most premium travel experience in the country (so far) between these two points and you can book yourself a ticket beginning at INR7,500 -- including meals, refreshments and breakfast.

Angriya, the first domestic cruise vessel service began its test run on May 23, Wednesday at 5 pm. The Mumbai Goa cruise service will be run by Sea Eagle Cruises. The date of commencement of the Mumbai to Goa cruise service has not yet been announced by the authorities.

Earlier, the Chairman of Mumbai Port Trust, Sanjay Bhatia had mentioned that date of the service would be announced on the basis of the trials. "Cruise services can be operated only when the weather is fair. So, it will be between October and May," he was quoted as saying by Times of India. As per him, the ship can ferry 400 passengers at once.

Siddharth Newalkar, Director of Sea Eagle Cruises, explained while speaking to Financial Express that there are seven categories of rooms and the pricing is yet to be fixed for all of these. He also revealed that the cruise schedule will be fixed once the test run is complete. The vessel will take up to 15 hours to complete its one-way journey between Mumbai and Goa.

When it comes to facilities offered, the cruise has eight restaurants, bars and 24 hours coffee shops located on all the decks with a variety of culinary delights for the guests. Other amenities onboard include an infinity pool, recreation room and a luxury lounge.
