Monster Jam is Roaring back into London!

The adrenaline-charged, family event is returning to London for the  third year running this 13 July, get exclusive London Stadium pre-sale access from Thursday 25 April (9am) by signing up  HERE .

On your marks, get set, go... The most unexpected, unscripted and unforgettable motorsports experience for families and fans is back by popular demand. Monster Jam roars back into London for the third year running on Saturday 13 July, for an adrenaline-charged day at London Stadium, where world champion athletes and their 12,000 pound monster trucks tear up the dirt in wide-open competitions of speed and skill.

Tickets will be available directly from  London Stadium  with Moan exclusive pre-sale from 9am on Thursday 25 April, before tickets go on-sale to the general public at 9am on Friday 26 April.

The fun begins before the event at the Monster Jam Pit Party at London Stadium, where you can get up close to the massive trucks, enjoy family-friendly activities, meet your favourite drivers, get autographs and take pictures. This fun-filled experience is the only place to get an insider’s look and find out more about how the mega trucks are built to stand up to the competition.

London fans will be on the edge of their seats as London Stadium is transformed for the third year running with 500 truckloads of dirt, and the world’s best drivers show off massive stunts, big air, backflips, donuts, crazy skills and all-out racing, in fierce head-to-head battles for the Event Championship. Engineered to perfection, the 12,000-pound, 1500 horsepower Monster Jam trucks push all limits in Freestyle, Skills and Racing competitions. 

The all-star lineup will feature multiple fan favourites including Matt Cody in  Grave Digger , Blake Granger in  Max D and Charlie Pauken, returns behind the wheel of  Megalodon . The event also sees the return of the Marvel Monster Jam trucks, including  Thor  driven by Myranda Cozad and Bari Musawwir returning behind the wheel of  Black Panther.

Monster Jam drivers are trained, world-class male and female athletes who have mastered not only the physical strength and mental stamina needed to compete, but the vital dexterity to control machines capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills and racing at speeds up to 70 miles-per-hour to produce jaw-dropping, live motorsports action seen around the world. Enjoy big-time family fun at Monster Jam. Back by popular demand, Monster Jam® roars into London Stadium for the third year running on Saturday 13 July. Get set for an adrenaline-charged day, where world champion athletes and their 12,000-pound monster trucks tear up the dirt in wide-open competitions of speed and skill.

You'll be on the edge of your seat as the world’s best drivers show off massive stunts, big air, backflips, donuts, crazy skills and all-out racing, in fierce head-to-head battles for the Event Championship. Engineered to perfection, the 12,000-pound, 1500-horsepower Monster Jam trucks push all limits in Freestyle, Skills and Racing competitions. 

Alongside fan favourites trucks like Grave Digger®,  Max D® and Megalodon®, this event also sees the return of the Marvel Monster Jam trucks including Thor, Iron Man and Black Panther.

On your marks, get set, go… The larger-than-life sport that always leaves you entertained, Monster Jam®, is returning to Principality Stadium to deliver an unexpected, unscripted and unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The world-famous trucks will once again deliver entertainment that promises to keep you on the edge of your seats and filled with adrenaline charged excitement.

Road closures From early in the day, Scott Road and Park Street will be closed as a result of the need to prepare Gate 5 and protect queuing fans. The following roads will be closed as part of the full city centre road closure (12.30pm until 8.30pm) • Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment.) • Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street (access for residents and traders will be permitted.) • Dispenser Street from its junction with Clare Street • Fitzhamon Embankment – access to buses and residents will be maintained. • The following roads will be closed in their entirety: High Street, St Mary Street, Caroline Street, Wood Street, Central Square, Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road. Additions: 
Civic Centre: Access to part of the Civic Centre will be controlled throughout the day, with access allowed only for event parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks. Roads affected include: King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road and Gorsedd Gardens Road. From 6.00pm until 9.30pm, Station Terrace will be closed. Cars will be able to exit the Capitol Shopping Centre car park via North Edward Street, Station Terrace and travel northbound onto Newport Road and Dumfries Place. Please note: 
If there are any safety concerns in connection with crowds queuing to go into the venue prior to gates opening, there may be a need to close Wood Street and Westgate Street earlier, along with lane restrictions adjacent to Gate 1 on Cowbridge Road East. If there are any safety concerns relating to the queuing system at Cardiff Central Train Station, then Wood Street, Westgate Street, Park Street, Havelock Street, St Mary Street, Penarth Road, Saunders Road and Customhouse Street will remain closed until safety concerns are remedied. Fans are therefore urged to plan to arrive at the stadium in plenty of time, leave large bags at home and pay attention to the prohibited items listed via www.principalitystadium.wales

Trains Network Rail is advising customers that there will be no significant engineering work affecting the mainline services to Cardiff.

Passengers are advised to plan their journey in advance at www.nationalrail.co.uk   or by calling Travel Line Cymru on 0800 464 0000.

Transport for Wales is advising all customers that trains in the Cardiff area are expected to be busy all day. Those travelling into the city to watch the matches are advised to travel as early as possible.

There will be a full crowd management system at Cardiff Central.

Event Park & Ride Event Park & Ride is available at Leckwith and can be accessed from junction 33 off the M4 and then follow signs to the site.

To pre-book Park & Ride visit, CLICK HERE The drop off point is Tresillian Way North, at the back of the train station. The Park & Ride is 1.5 miles from the city centre which take approximately 10 to 15 minutes. If you pre-book, the cost is £8 or £10 payable on the day (cash only) Staff will arrive at the car park at 8.30am, with the site opening at 9am and the first bus leaving at 9.30am. The last bus will leave the pick up at the pick-up point at 7pm with the car park closing at 7.30pm.

Motorways and trunk roads As with all major events, ticket holders are encouraged to plan well ahead and make allowances for busy motorways and trunk roads. The M4 corridor and Cardiff is expected to be very busy.

Event Day Parking Sophia Gardens (cars) (Approximately, 0.5 mile walk to the Principality Stadium, Gate 2). Sophia Gardens Event Day Parking Getting there: Exit junction 32 of M4 Cost: £15 payable on the day at the car park (cash only) Parking time: Car park opens at 8am and closes at midnight Please note: Sophia Gardens car park will be staffed until 6.30pm, all vehicles are left on site at the owner’s risk. Cardiff Council will not be held responsible for any theft or damage to motor vehicles or personal possessions. Any vehicles left in the car park after closing time will be fined. Civic Centre Event Day Parking (cars) Getting there: Exit Junction 32 of the M4, head south on the A470 towards the city centre and follow signage to the civic centre. Civic Centre Event Day Parking (coaches) Cost: £25 payable on the day (cash only) or £25 pre-book – https://zeelo.co/rides/Wales-Rugby/coaches-park-ride-and-premium-parking-for-monster-jam-16306 Parking time: The car park opens at 7.30am and will open at 8am and all cars must be either removed or have a pay and display ticket displayed by 8am on Sunday May 19th.

Can you cycle or walk? Those who live locally in Cardiff may want to travel by bicycle or walk. Research shows us that 52% of car trips made in the Welsh capital are less than 5km. This is a distance that can be comfortably cycled in 20 minutes. We also know that 28% of Cardiff residents who currently do not cycle would like to do so. When the roads are congested this makes cycling an even more attractive option as travel by bicycle would be quicker than a car during rush hours or during big events.

Disabled parking Disabled drivers are advised to use Sophia Gardens. Disabled parking is also available at various private car parks. Please check individual websites for availability.

Taxis St Mary Street taxi rank (outside the House of Fraser) will be closed from 1pm, and will re-open from 7pm.

Bus
 Cardiff Bus is advising all customers that services will be diverted out of the central city bus stops from 1pm until 7pm. Buses displaced from stops within the closure will relocate to either Churchill Way for the east, Greyfriars Road for the north or Tudor Street for the west.

Can I bring food & drink?

Outside food and drink is not permitted into the venue unless it is for a baby. i.e. a baby bottle/baby food. Please avoid bringing food within glass containers where possible.

If you or a member of your party requires bringing food and drink for medical reasoning and allergies, please respond to this e-mail with further information so a member of the team can assist you.

What is the Bag Policy?

Children sized backpacks are permitted into the venue as they fall under the size guidance of our bag policy - any bag larger than an A3 piece of paper (approx 35cm(W)x40cm(H)x19cm(D)) are not allowed into the venue. 

If bringing an infant where you require changing items, we request that where possible if you can bring a smaller bag. If not - please do bring only the items, you need. You are permitted to bring nappies, wipes etc for the purpose of changing.

If you do require to bring extra items or may need assistance with bag sizing - please do respond to this e-mail with further information so a member of the team can assist you.

Where can I store my pram?

We do have a "Pram Park" located inside of the venue near Block 101 at our Customer Services desk. Please speak to a steward upon arrival to assist you.

Can I bring a light up toy?

Light up toys/sticks/merchandise are permitted into the venue as long as it fits under the following guidance: it must be within 30cm size and not have a laser.

We do not allow toy guns, shields, light sabres or any toy that could be used as a weapon or cause damage. Please note it will be up to the discretion of the stewarding team upon arrival.

What is the age requirement for a ticket?

Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket and must remain on the parent/guardian's lap for the duration of the show. If your child is above this age and does require a seat - you would be required to have a ticket.

What should I do if I require a respite area?

We always endeavour to provide a room if anybody requires a break and a period of respite from the performance. We just ask that you please speak to a supervisor (in purple) or our Customer Service team (opposite block 101) who can assist.

Can I bring sensory items?

If you do need to bring sensory items with you, we do permit this, we just ask that this is communicated to us in advance of your visit, so that we can make our stewards aware. Please e-mail our team via:  [email protected]  with details, so they can best advise.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party will return to the UK in 2024.

The family show will feature fans' favourite Hot Wheels Monster Trucks — Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Boneshaker, Demo Derby, the new HW 5-Alarm and more — doing jumps and stunts at arenas in Leeds, London, Glasgow and Manchester between January 13 and February 25. Tickets go on general sale at 9am this Friday (September 8).

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party will also travel across North America this fall and to Australia in summer 2024. Head here for those dates.

Wrexham Motorfest is back by popular demand, promising an action-packed day filled with thrilling automotive displays, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Scheduled for Saturday, 27th July, from 11am to 6pm at Penyllan Farm in Marchwiel, this year’s event promises a spectacular celebration of all things automotive and raise vital funds for Nightingale House Hospice.

Organised by Nightingale House Hospice and the Wrexham Council Events Team, 2024 is set to be a standout event in the community calendar.

The event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged to support the services and care Nightingale House provides people and their families living with life-limiting conditions.

Motorfest 2024 highlights include:

Bolddogs: Back by popular demand, the Bolddogs team will amaze the crowd with their daring motocross stunts.

Red Dragon Monster Truck: Experience the thrill of riding on the Red Dragon Monster Truck and even witness the excitement of crushing a car!

Live Music and Entertainment: Enjoy a variety of music acts and performances throughout the afternoon.

Food and Drink: A range of food stalls and a bar will be available to keep everyone refreshed and satisfied throughout the day.

US cities rank low on list of world's most active, walkable cities, analysis finds

A recent study published in the journal Environment International by researchers Rafael Prieto-Curiel and Juan Pablo Ospina gathered data from nearly 800 cities across 61 countries to determine and model their various modes of transport: active mobility -- walking or biking -- public transport and cars. An analysis of that data from The Economist has since revealed the most and least-walkable cities across the globe. The 100 least active walkable cities were all found in North America, which as The Economist noted may be the result of pro-car policies and government subsidies over decades.

A panel of independent advisers for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is meeting Tuesday to discuss whether it will recommend approval for psychedelic treatment along with therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The treatment, developed by Lykos Therapeutics, is a pharmaceutical version of midomafetamine, better known as MDMA and sometimes referred to as ecstasy. It marks the first time FDA advisers have considered recommending approval of a psychedelic drug for PTSD.

Shohei Ohtani's ex-interpreter pleads guilty in gambling case

Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for MLB star Shohei Ohtani, pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal charges related to stealing nearly $17 million from the Dodgers player in order to cover gambling debts, according to the Department of Justice. Mizuhara, 39, agreed to plead guilty last month to one count of bank fraud, which carries a maximum of 30 years in prison, and one count of subscribing to a false tax return, which carries up to three years in prison. The guilty plea was formally entered at a change of plea hearing Tuesday morning, after Mizuhara previously pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment last month as a procedural matter.

A woman allegedly stabbed a 3-year-old boy to death outside an Ohio grocery store in a random attack, according to police. The boy, Julian, and his mother, Margot Wood, were both stabbed around 3 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of a Giant Eagle in North Olmsted, about 15 miles outside of Cleveland, according to North Olmsted police. The suspect, 32-year-old Bionca Ellis, was taken into custody, police said.

The show, tentatively titled "The Baldwins," is scheduled to premiere in 2025, several months after Alec Baldwin faces a criminal trial stemming from the 2021 fatal shooting of "Rust" cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Suspects sought in shooting of 2 girls, ages 9 and 11, caught in the crossfire on a New York City playground

A search continued Tuesday for a pair of gunmen who opened fire on a man in a New York City playground, hitting two children in the line of fire, police said. The shooting in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn erupted Monday night as the girls were playing on a field at the Hilltop Playground, according to New York City Police Department investigators. The injured girls were identified by relatives as 9-year-old Ruanna Brown and her 11-year-old cousin, Empress Alexander Davis.

74-year-old woman pronounced dead in hospice care found breathing at funeral home

Authorities in Nebraska are investigating after a 74-year-old woman believed to have died while in hospice care was found to be breathing after being transported to a funeral home. The "unusual" incident began Monday morning, according to Lancaster County Chief Deputy Ben Houchin. The woman had been transported from a nursing home, where she had been declared dead at around 9:44 a.m. local time, to the Butherus-Maser & Love Funeral Home in Lincoln, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

"The administration is taking decisive action designed to strengthen the security of our southern border and reduce unlawful migration by suspending the entry of individuals across the southern border," a Biden administration official said.

Wisconsin is the fourth state to pursue election interference charges related to the 2020 election.
