Web listing on the VisitScotland website

Last Updated: 29 Nov 2021

What does this involve?

Am i eligible, what does this cost, who is this for, how long does this take, important information.

Create a web listing to showcase your business on the global platform visitscotland.com, allowing you to connect with visitors from all around the world.

Complete a simple online form and, once approved, you will be sent your Extranet login details. This allows you to take charge and keep your own web listing details up to date and inspiring for visitors. You can add more images, transport details, special offers, opening hours or pricing.

All requests are reviewed individually. Here are a few notes of guidance:

  • Your business must be based in Scotland for the benefit of visitors to Scotland
  • if you are a tour operator you are eligible but the process is slightly different to access the tour system
  • online only businesses (with no physical presence) do not qualify for a web listing – it must be something which can be visited or experienced
  • the site won’t display web listings for general businesses with no connection to tourism. It’s an inspirational tourism website focused on inspiring visitors to find accommodation or experiences for their trip
  • the site won’t display web listings for business to business (B2B) operators. If you’re interested in reaching travel businesses who can bring you more visitors please contact a VisitScotland Industry Relationship Manager

This is a free service.

Applications are welcomed from all types of tourism businesses:

  • accommodation providers
  • visitor attractions, activities or experiences
  • places to eat and drink
  • transport providers
  • local retail establishments
  • tour operators

It should take about 15 minutes to complete the online form.

Once submitted and approved VisitScotland will be in touch within 10 working days.

Before you start filling in the online form for your listing you will need:

  • an image in landscape format
  • a short teaser description and a main, more detailed description
  • company information
  • contact details

Once your web listing has been approved, you will be sent a login for your Extranet which you need to update your listing. This should be done regularly in line with seasonal changes, special offers and new developments in your offering.

Take a look at the VisitScotland website and find out more about web listings on visitscotland.com , external link which will open in a new window opens in a new window .
