One-way current tickets for the sector Kedarnath – Sersi are available at our current counter on the Kedarnath Helipad.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

All passengers must present valid photo identification, bio-metric registration & medical checkup at the time of check-in. Medical check up can be done at Phata and Sonprayag. Biometric registration can be done at Phata , Sonprayag and Kedarnath top.

Reporting Time

To obtain your reporting time please contact at the contact numbers provided on your ticket, after 6:30 pm one day prior to your travel date.

Check-in Sersi Helipad

At your reporting time. Reporting time is not to be confused with boarding time. Boarding shall be done up to 2 hours after reporting at Sersi helipad.

Sersi Helipad To Kedarnath Helipad

11-minute helicopter flight. Kedarnath is situated at an altitude of 11,500 ft. You must not exert yourself, so go slow and take breaks, and always catch your breath.

Kedarnath Helipad – Kedarnath Temple

The temple is situated a distance of only 500m from the helipad, it takes 15 minute walk to reach the temple. Pitthus / Palkis are also available.

On First-Come-First basis. Passengers are checked in at Kedarnath helipad on First-Come-First basis. You will be in a que, and will be given a number. You will board once your number comes. PRIORITY DARSHAN SLIP

2 hours time shall be given for darshan to same day return passengers. So that you can complete your darshan in the given time passengers are advised to purchase Shri Kedarnath Ji Mandir Samiti's priority darshan slip which is issued by our staff at Sersi helipad.

Priority Darshan slips cost around Rs. 2,500 per yatri and are available at the helipad. Full payment of the priority darshan slip goes to Shri Kedarnath ji Mandir Samiti.

BAGGAGE LIMITATION

Only one handbag weighing a maximum of 5 kgs is allowed per passenger.

ABOUT SERSI

Our helipad is located at Sersi. It is a small village that is located 7 kms after Phata on the way to Sonprayag. Sersi comes right after you cross Badasu village.

• Altitude: 6,500 feet
• Location: 22 Km from Guptkashi, 7 km from Phata
• Tourist spots nearby: Triyuginarayan Temple
• Accommodation: The main hotel village is Sitapur. However, there are plenty of hotels in Guptkashi, Phata, Sersi, Rampur, Sitapur and Sonprayag to suit all kinds of budgets.

ABOUT KEDARNATH

You will land at Kedarnath Helipad. Shri Kedarnathji temple is at a distance of 500 meters from here, it takes a short and easy 15-20 minute walk to reach the temple. Palki’s and Pitthus are also available.

Since Kedarnathji is at an altitude of 11500 feet, you are requested to read the High Altitude Advisory and High Altitude Do’s and Don’ts section.

• Altitude: 11,500 feet
• Location: 16 km trek from Gaurikund
• Accommodation: GMVN provides tents and huts at Kedarnath. Beds cost between 300-500 per bed. There are no full fledged hotels, however, rooms in private guesthouses are available. Food and drinks are available at the GMVN canteen and other private dhabas and guesthouses.

Health Advisory

Kedarnath is located at a high altitude of 11,500 ft. Being at such a high altitude involves exposure to extreme cold, low humidity, increased ultra violet radiations and reduced air pressure and oxygen. Since you will only be there for a couple of hours, the body cannot get enough time to acclimatize and adjust to the low oxygen levels, therefore you must not exert yourself, go slow and always catch your breath. If anyone exerts themselves too much too quickly, depending on individual fitness levels, some of the common high altitude sicknesses and their symptoms are listed below: 1. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS): AMS is the most common form of mountain sickness and may occur after you ascend to altitudes above 2,500m. Symptoms: Breathing problems, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weakness, dizziness and difficulty in sleeping. 2. High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE): HACE is a severe form of AMS and occurs due to swelling of the brain tissue which may eventually impair the brain. The illness often manifests itself at night and may result in coma/ death within hours. Symptoms: Breathing problems, headache, fatigue, visual impairment, bladder dysfunction, bowel dysfunction, disorientation and partial paralysis. 3. High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE): HAPE results in respiratory failure due to accumulation of fluid in the lungs. HAPE manifests itself at night (typically the second night of climbing in high altitude areas), progresses rapidly and may lead to fatality within hours. Symptoms: Shortness of breath even when resting, persistent dry cough, bright red stained sputum, weakness, fatigue, drowsiness, chest tightness, congestion and increased heart rate. Younger people are held to be more susceptible to this ailment as, in exuberance, they are inclined to over exert while trekking.

High Altitude Do’s & Don’ts

Do’s 1. Increase your fitness. Start at least a month prior to the Yatra at least a 4-5km Morning/Evening walk. For Improving the oxygen efficiency of your body. 2. Take Palkis/Horses instead of trekking to avoid high altitude sickness. 3. Take short breaks to catch your breath when tired. 4. Notice any symptoms such as extreme tiredness, headache, nausea, loss of appetite or vomiting. 5. Saree is NOT a suitable dress for the Yatra. Salwar Kameez, pant-shirt or a track suit will be better. Ladies who are more than 6 week pregnant shall not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage. 6. Keep spare clothes and eatables in a suitable water proof bag. 7. Carry some cold cream/Vaseline/sunscreen to protect your hands /face against sunburn etc. 8. Keep in your pocket your identity card with emergency contact number, incase of an emergency. Don’ts 1. Don’t exert yourself too much and go out of breath. 2. Don’t ignore any symptoms such as extreme tiredness, headache, nausea, loss of appetite or vomiting. 3. Don’t stop at places which are marked by warning notices. 4. Don’t use slippers because there are steep rises and falls on the route to the Holy Cave. Only wear trekking shoes with laces. 5. Don’t attempt any short cuts on the route as doing so would be dangerous. 6. Don’t trek alone. Always stay together as a group. Your mobile network may not work at Kedarnath, only BSNL works.

CARRIAGE BY AIR ACT, 1972 The carriage is subject to Himalayan Heli Services regulations relating to the conditions of Non-International Carriage (Passenger and Baggage) framed in accordance with The Carriage by Air Act, 1972 and Notification regarding application of the carriage which is non-international. The liability of the company for damage sustained in the event of the death or wounding of a passenger or any other bodily injury suffered by passenger or by his registered baggage during the course of carriage by air will be governed by the provisions of sections 4,5,6 and the rules contained in the second Schedule of Carriage by Air Act 1972 with certain exceptions, adaptations, modifications, etc as notified in the Govt. of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation Notification and as amended from time to time. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS All passengers must present valid photo Identification; Biometric registration slip and Medical check-up slip at Check-in. PASSENGER GROUPING The passenger in groups or families may not be carried together in the same helicopter as a matter of regrouping based on weight of the passengers due to load limitations of the helicopter. INCASE OF OVERLOADING If at any stage it is found that the helicopter is overloaded, HHSPL will have the right to decide which passengers or article shall be offloaded and such decision shall be binding. HAND BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE Only one handbag weighing a maximum of 5 kgs is allowed per passenger. Any additional piece of baggage will not be allowed. LOSS OF BAGGAGE HHSPL is not liable for any loss or damage occasioned by delay in the carriage by air of passengers or baggage. Receipt without complaint of registered baggage on the termination of the journey shall be prima facie evidence that the baggage has been delivered correctly and in good condition. 2 HRS DARSHAN TIME 2 hours time will be allotted for same day return passengers for darshan at Shri Kedarnath Ji temple. Passengers must complete darshan in this time. INCASE OF BAD WEATHER / TECHNICAL SNAG Chances of flight cancellation due to bad weather are common during monsoon. In case of cancellation due to technical reason/bad weather or other unforeseen reasons beyond our control, full refund of the ticket will be given. HHSPL bears no other liability to the passenger. No accommodation, meals or cost of transport or any such cost would be reimbursed or compensated. NO AERIAL PHOTOPGRAPHY Aerial Photography from Helicopter is illegal and punishable by law and photography at the helipad is strictly prohibited. Phata is a small village with one of the busiest helipads en route to Kedarnath. It is in close proximation to the town with only a nine-minute helicopter flight.

It is the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. From Gaurikund, the Kedarnath temple is 16 km away. The route has its ups and downs, but the beautiful scenery will surprise you.

Jungle Chatti

From Gaurikund, the second stop is at Jungle Chatti by the Rambara Bridge. The distance between these two is around 4 km. You can use the Pony and Palki services to complete the journey.

From Jungle Chatti, Bhimbali is 3 km away. The next stop after Bhimbali is at 4 km. So eat light and stay hydrated. You will find plenty of facilities, like GMVN tents, free drinking water, free restrooms and free wifi, available here.

From Bhimbali, the next stop is at Lincholi, at 4 km. Lincholi is only 2 halts away from your destination. You’ll get a soul-satisfying view of the highlands where the River Mandakini originates. There are medical facilities, along with private and GMVN tents, available here.

Kedarnath Base Camp

On your way further to Lincholi, Kedarnath base camp is there at 4 km. It is the last stop from Kedarnath Temple. You can see the temple from here. You will find the GMVN camp here, in this basecamp and reservations may be made there through their official website.

Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath temple, the destination of your trek, is 1 km from Kedarnath base camp. Take the blessings of this divine temple of Lord Shiva. Along the route, there are glaciers and mesmerising panoramas.

Online registration for the Char Dham Yatra

The 16-km Kedarnath Trek is a moderate-to-difficult walk. You must be in relatively good physical condition for the trek. Every pilgrim must have their fitness level evaluated before setting out on a trip. Because it is important to see whether they are capable of doing so.

The Kedarnath Trek from Gaurikund is scheduled to last from 4:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This timetable is usually fixed. The location of the temple is difficult. The location of the temple is difficult. Moreover, the temple is within a wildlife sanctuary. Hence, the trek must take place in the daylight.

Around 6 to 8 hours is required for an average person to reach Kedarnath temple from Gaurikund.

As the trek to Kedarnath is the longest, avoid overnight trekking and plan to stay. The minimum time required to reach Kedarnath is 4 to 5 days. You can book comfy accommodations along the Kedarnath trek.

The 16 km Kedarnath hike requires a good level of physical condition as it is a moderate-to-challenging hike.

Tourists can find several stores offering trinkets and pictures of Badrinath, Kedarnath and other deities. You may also get real Rudraksha here, as well as other items like crystals, saligrams, plants like shilajit, valuable stones and tulsi beads.

The Kedarnath Temple, Vasuki Tal, Shankaracharya Samadhi, Agastyamuni, Chandrashila and Sonprayag are the prominent attractions in Kedarnath.

Important Expert Travel Tips for Chardham:-

• While visiting Hindu mythological sites, shrines and temples, one should remove shoes and cover head with a piece of cloth before entering the Holy Place.
• Do carry your personal daily use products toiletries,  creams, moisturizers, sunscreen etc.
• Pack a medical kit with painkillers, antibiotics, cough lozenges, Antiseptic cream, Iodine, tube-squeeze cream and medicines for cold and fever. Carry your routine medicines, as you might find only limited and general medicine at such remote locations.
• Carry dark chocolates, dry fruits, Glucose (Glucon D), toffees. They will provide your instant energy during the trekking and during long jams.
• It can rain anytime here, so it is mandatory to carry an umbrella and raincoat along with your rain shoes.
• To protect yourself from the cold winds here, carry a windcheater, woolen socks, monkey caps and a muffler. These will enable you to withstand the chill that comes with wind on the upper Himalayan region.
• When asking for directions, speak to shopkeepers, not pedestrians. Check with at least two persons or more.
• Do not take pictures if cameras are not allowed in any particular area. Do not play with the sentiments of any particular religion.
• At least a month before the Yatra, it is advisable to start preparatory exercises for the trip 4 months in advance.
• Though self-managed tours happen to be economical, it is advisable for your Chardham yatra to go for a guided tour arranged by an expert local travel agent.
• Carry extra batteries and films for your camera, as electricity is not regular in such remote places.
• Avoid traveling in the rainy season as there are a lot of landslides during that time.
• Book your trip well  in advance if you are travelling close to the temple opening dates, there is a heavy rush of pilgrims. 
• Alcohol or non-vegetarian food is not permitted during Char Dham Yatra Tour.
• Drink packaged water or boiled water only.
• Accommodation Expectation: The provided hotels are of a standard Category unless you have booked Deluxe / Luxury package. Expect Basic Home stay / Guest houses in Kedarnath.
• Meals Exceptions: We provided Breakfast and Dinner to our guests it will be basic Indian vegetarian meals (We do not offer any meals in Kedarnath)
• From Sonprayag to Gaurikund our vehicles are not allowed and hence one has to go with Union Taxi by paying 40-50 Rupee Person one way.
• Be prepared for changes in itinerary 
• Do not fall victim of fraud travel agents 
• Do not negotiate hard with your travel agents as it may hamper your service quality, as the offered prices are prepared keeping in mind quality of services.

In case of any serious medical emergency, call 108 (The Mobile emergency service from Government of Uttarakhand). Don't make fake calls, as it is punishable offence.

Travelling Tips

Train Connectivity: Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun are well connected to major cities of India by Railway Network. 

Air Connectivity: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun. Helicopter service to Kedarnath and Badrinath is available from Delhi, Dehradun, Phata, Augustmuni and Gauchar near Rudraprayag and Jollygrant Airport Dehradun.

If self-driving in Uttarakhand during Chardham

• Always keep your vehicle on left side of the Road.
• Use Horn at curves on hills, never overtake the overtaking vehicle.
• One should not drive more than 8 hours a day in hilly region.
• Avoid driving after sunset, as it is not allowed in hilly area of Uttarakhand.
• Use shoes instead of slippers while driving.
• Check your Brakes and Hand Brakes before starting journey.
• Check the Headlights, Break light and Parking lights of your vehicle.
• Always give way to uphill vehicles.
• Keep your vehicle's valid documents with you to avoid inconvenience.
• Before journey, make sure that fuel tank of your vehicle is full; in case of landslides you might have to take alternate long routes.
• Ensure to refuel, where ever easily you get chance, during season there might be long queues in Petrol Pumps at main stations.
• Carry first aid box with you.
• Do not drink and drive.
• In case of traffic jam, park your vehicle at the end of the queue. If you initiate a parallel queue, the traffic from other side might force you to drive in reverse gear, till you reach again at end of the original queue. And you may find it very difficult to drive long in reverse gear on a hilly road.
• Do not compete with local vehicles/drivers. They know the terrain very well.

Day 01: Dehradun - Kedarnath - Badrinath – Dehradun.

Attraction:

• Morning take off from Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun by 07:15 AM to Phata/ Sersi helipad.
• Due to Government regulations guests are to be shifted to shuttle helicopter from same helipad to fly to Kedarnath.
• Upon arrival at Kedarnath helipad walk till Mandir which is about 300 mts from helipad. VIP darshan slips at the temple are arranged for you to have a special puja. Post Darshan fly to Phata/Sirsi & fly to Badrinath by 10 AM.
• Upon arrival at Badrinath helipad transfer to the temple by Car for VIP Darshan & Post Darshan youare transferred to the helipad to commence return journey to Dehradun by 1 PM. end of Holy Yatra upon arrival at Dehradun heliport.

Terms & Conditions

• Flying is subject to Full Load in Helicopter i.e. 5/6 Person on seat basis flying.
• Covid-19 Guidelines will be applicable as per the Government of Uttarakhand.
• Flying in hills are subject to many factors like delayed clearances from Air Force & Civil Aviation, VVIP movements, valley flying by Indian Air Force (NOTAM), bad weather, sudden occurrence of technical.
• Snag in helicopter, illness of flying crew or late reporting of the guests at the helipads it may be plusminus 2 hours.
• Any passenger weighing above 80 Kg, shall have to pay extra weight charges @ INR 250/kg for the excess weight, toward the extra weight charges shuttle service at Sersi on direct payment basis.
• Our company shall not be liable for any medical emergency on the ground to the party. Therefore, in your own interest, guests are hereby advised to kindly consult a doctor and get medical checkup done, before commencing the yatra. Medical check-up is mainly required if a guest has any medical suffering/condition.
• Any donations, tips, pitthu and porter charges shall be borne by the guests only.

Carriage By Air Act, 1972

The liability of the company for damage sustained in the event of the death or wounding of a passenger or any other bodily injuiry suffered by passenger or by his registered baggage during the course of carriage by air will be governed by the provisions of sections 4,5,6 and the rules contained in the second Schedule of Carriage by Air Act 1972 with certain exceptions, adaptations, modifications, etc as notified in the Govt. of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation Notification and as amended from time to time.

• Infant below 2 years/12 kg are carried free of charge. In case of verification of age, ID proof/birth certificate of the child shall be checked. 
• Hand Baggage Allowance only one handbag weighing a maximum of 5 kgs is allowed per passenger. 
• Helicopter Weight Limtation Passengers would be taken on board depending up on the load and temperature conditions. Pilots call will be final. Maximum weight capacity of the helicopter is 420 kg (excluding baggage weight) at these destinations. All passengers on board must be within this limit. Hence, passengers are advised to provide us their exact weights at the time of booking and carry baggage within the permissible limit.
• Disputes as to legality, interpretation, application or performance of service or any of its terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Dehradun Jurisdiction. 
• Payment Terms the booking has to be done in advance with a deposit of 50% of the charter amount. Full amount has to be deposited 7 days prior to date of journey. Rescheduling of booking to a next date will be done subject to availability and on payment of 10% of the cost. This will be permitted only if informed 10 days before arrival date. In case the rescheduling is requested with less than 10 days to the arrival, then the booking would be treated as cancelled and a fresh booking will be given subject to availability.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If passengers wish to cancel their booking then they will have to pay following cancellation chargesMore than 15 days before the departure date — 30% of total charter amount.

• Between 08th to 15th day before departure date — 50% of total charter amount.
• Up to 07th day before the departure date — No Refund.
• No show – No Refund.
• Bad weather – Full refund toward the proportionate amount of the unutilized sector(s)/Flying , minus INR 20,000 toward the flight preparation and ground arrangement charges.

Bookings will be accepted, only on acceptance of the above-mentioned terms and conditions by the guests. In case of bookings through a tour operator/travel agent, the same shall be applicable.

Now, you need to start another small journey to reach Jungle Chatti (approx 4 Kms) via Rambara Bridge.  

When you stop after 4 Kms, you have to go to Bheembali Linchauli and reach out to Kedarnath Base Camp.
