Gregorian is simply amazing to hear. The way the chanting flows over the instruments is a truly unique and beautiful experience. There aren't that many musical acts about which you can boast so totally and throughly. The music will haunt you for a long time. When they perform, they do so with an immense level of passion and feeling.

They engage the audience in a way that pulls you in and brings the experience ti a level that is higher than almost any other musical act you will ever see.The vocal talent itself is worth the price of admission. The unique approach of the chanting is simply stunning. I have never heard another act that sounds anything like Gregorian does. The musicality is absolutely tremendous, the impact of the vocals massive.

From song to song, the music has different approaches and the vocals are used differently to keep the show interesting and fresh. If you've never heard this group, then check them out right away! I promise they will have a sound that is new to you. Their live performances are equally impressive.

I saw them in Prague and their cover of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven was absolutely unforgettable. I highly recommend this group.

PURE CHANTS WORLD TOUR 2023-2024

GREGORIAN The Original

gregorian chor tour

Like so many of the great success stories of the past, the tale of GREGORIAN also began from humble origins. No one could have predicted the level of success that would eventually be realized by one man's ingenious creation.    And yet… If we turn our gaze back all the way to the beginning, before the gold and platinum awards and the millions of recordings sold. If we stopped at each country visited, paid homage to every city played and reignited the millions of hearts around the world that have been touched by the emotive music and stunning spectacles of GREGORIAN. We would discover that at one point it was all nothing more than the infant flicker of an idea. An idea from a man who had the audacity to merge two separate worlds.   In the year of 1989 a young Frank Peterson walked contemplatively through the royal monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Spain. The grounds of the medieval monastery left an indelible mark on his soul. Accompanying Peterson as he walked was the feint sound of modern-day music playing quietly through the headphones of his Walkman. Moved by the stark contrast of these two colliding worlds the initial idea of mixing ancient Gregorian music with modern day hits took hold of Peterson and the rest, as they say, is history.   Peterson initially brought the idea to life for the first time with Michael Cretu with the worldwide sound phenomenon Enigma. The first album MCMXC a.D. appeared in 1990 and quickly became a worldwide success story. MCMXC a.D. was number 1 in 41 different countries and received 57 platinum and 45 gold medals. It is consequently considered the most successful German album of all time.   The success of Enigma prompted Peterson to take a step forward with his initial idea of GREGORIAN. He established GREGORIAN as an independent music act. Their first album “Masters Of Chant” followed Peterson’s previous success with Enigma seamlessly. Over the following years GREGORIAN has sold more than 10 million recordings worldwide with 21 CDs & 9 DVDs, and has achieved gold and platinum status in 24 different countries. So far the Gregorian repertoire consists of almost 300 songs, ranging from classical music to pop standards and contemporary rock tracks of the last 40 years.   The concert productions themselves further reflect the individual creativity of Frank Peterson who has produced breath-taking shows in arenas, theatres, and churches that thrill fans and critics in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Almost 3 million visitors have watched GREGORIAN live at their concerts in 35 countries.

To experience GREGORIAN live is to witness an audio and visual spectacle that in 20 years to date has never failed to procure a standing ovation from the public.   In 2015 GREGORIAN announced the end of the Masters Of Chant Saga with the album “The Final Chapter” which climbed to #8 in the German charts. The accompanying tour led GREGORIAN to over 80 cities across Europe. In 2020 GREGORIAN celebrated its 20th anniversary and announced an extensive World Tour. Due to the Covid situation the tour came to an early halt with 25 shows being postponed to early 2022.    On December 17, 2021 GREGORIAN will release their first ever PURE CHANTS album, featuring mainly classical choral works and hymns plus some folk and pop favorites.

The album release will be followed by their PURE CHANTS world tour,  set for all of 2023, where GREGORIAN will play more than 180 shows across Europe, Asia, North and South America.

Frank Peterson was born in 1963 in Hamburg and raised near Lübeck. After living for six years in Munich, Madrid and on Ibiza, Frank now commutes between Hamburg and Miami, Florida.

Frank is the founder and owner of Nemo-Studios and omeN-Publishing and the international award winning recording and touring act Gregorian. Apart from GREGORIAN, Frank has worked as producer and/or composer for artists like:

Enigma | Alannah Myles | Justin Timberlake | Sarah Brightman | José Carreras | Tom Jones | Andrea Bocelli Placido Domingo |  Errol Brown |  Ofra Haza |  Paul Stanley (Kiss) |  Backstreet Boys |  Sandra |  Josh Groban

Alessandro Safina |  Mario Frangoulis |  Marky Mark |  I Muvrini |  Florent Pagny |  Ricardo Cocciante

Helmut Lotti |  Princessa |  Nevio |  Fortenbacher

For record sales exceeding 60,000,000 units Frank has received more than 180 gold and platinum awards from 42 countries on all 5 continents.

He has also composed and/or produced music for international blockbuster movies and global advertising campaigns and produced/directed global concert tours as well as TV programs for Sarah Brightman and Gregorian.

Frank plays drums, keyboards and bass, his hobbies are boating, scuba-diving, horseback riding, architecture, design, motion pictures, concerts and stage productions.

Frank’s musical taste is very diverse and ranges from core classical to rock.

Frank Peterson is currently producing the German artist Anne Heinz, with her debut to be released in late 2022 and across 2023.

A second pure Gregorian chant album is going to be released in winter 2022, followed by world-tour with more than 160 concert dates.

Frank has concluded a global advertising campaign song for Panasonic and is currently preparing an en-suite Christmas Broadway show for 2023 and a TV series about traveling Europe including culture, music and arts.

About Gregorian

For over 20 years, more than three million people in 31 countries have been enchanted by  GREGORIAN ’s live performances. These eight classically trained English vocalists have never failed to bring their audiences to their feet…multiple times…at EVERY show.

Nemo Studio is proud to announce that  GREGORIAN  is bringing its first-ever North American tour to theaters and performing arts centers in the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024, with 30-45 concerts currently being planned in the U.S., Mexico and Latin America, featuring special guest performers  Amelia Brightman  and sensational counter-tenor  Narcis.

“It is always a big challenge for an act to tour new markets, “says Michael Kelley, VP Performing Arts, New Frontier Touring. “For me, it is an honor and a privilege to be booking this unique music project for the first time in the US.”

In 1999, the  GREGORIAN  triumph began with their initial album Masters Of Chant, which earned multiple gold and platinum awards across Europe and Asia.  The project’s creator, renowned producer  Frank Peterson , who had previously broken ground as co-creator of the  Enigma  project, consequently pursued his idea of merging pop/rock music with chorale in the style of medieval chants.

With  GREGORIAN , Peterson created and established a unique music genre.   GREGORIAN ’s 20-year success-story has resulted in more than 10 million albums sold, sold-out arena concerts and a constantly growing worldwide fan base.

Peterson, who has produced all of Sarah Brightman’s albums over the past 30 years and brought Andrea Bocelli to international fame, says, “I am extremely excited about finally touring my pet project GREGORIAN in North America, and I hope that in the next few years we can build an equally ecstatic audience like we did all over Europe and Asia.”

In times that leave little room for reflection,  GREGORIAN  have become a global phenomenon. Their music and concerts are spiritually uplifting and their unique presentation allows their audience to escape from everyday life in a wondrous way–the current CD  PURE CHANTS   and the planned World Tour 2023-2024 continues this legacy.

The tour will be supported by the  PURE CHANTS I and II  album releases, plus  GREGORIAN  plans to film a spectacular television special in a very unique venue for world-wide broadcast and streaming to support the global tour dates.

Local public television stations have also been supporting the upcoming tour with a broadcast of a television special showcasing some of the best live moments from the European shows over the years, and offering premium items only available via the stations, including VIP concert tickets with a meet & greet,  PURE CHANTS I & II  box set,  PURE CHANTS  DVD, and the Gregorian EarBook coffee table book.

Per New York City’s guidance, Sony Hall is requiring all guests, staff & musicians ages 12+ to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to enter. Children ages 5 to 11 must have received at least one dose. Proof of vaccination may include your physical CDC card, photo of your CDC card, NYC Covid Safe App, or the NYS Excelsior Pass. THE WORLD’S MOST SUCCESSFUL CHOIR TO TOUR THE U.S. FOR THE FIRST TIME

“PURE CHANTS” Tour and PBS Special introduces GREGORIAN to the North American tour market in 2023.

For over 20 years, more than 3 million people in 31 countries have been enchanted by the monks’ live performances. These eight classically trained English vocalists have never failed to bring their audiences to their feet…multiple times…at EVERY show.

New Frontier Touring is proud to announce that GREGORIAN is bringing its first ever North American tour to theaters and Performing Arts Centers in the Fall of 2023, with 30-45 concerts currently being planned. "It is always a big challenge for an act to tour new markets. For me, it is an honor and a privilege to be booking this unique music project for the first time in the US," says Michael Kelley, Vice President Touring, New Frontier Touring.

In 1999, the GREGORIAN triumph began with initial album "Masters Of Chant", which earned multiple gold and platinum awards across Europe and Asia. The project's creator, renowned producer Frank Peterson, who had previously broken ground as co-creator of the Enigma project, consequently pursued his idea of merging pop/rock music with chorale in the style of medieval chants.

With GREGORIAN, Peterson created and established a unique music genre. GREGORIAN’S 20-year success-story has resulted in more than 10 million albums sold, sold-out arena concerts and a constantly growing worldwide fan base.

Peterson, who has produced all of Sarah Brightman’s albums over the past 30 years and brought Andrea Bocelli to international fame says, “I am extremely excited about finally touring my pet project GREGORIAN in North America, and I hope that in the next few years we can build an equally ecstatic audience like we did all over Europe and Asia.“

In times that leave little room for reflection, Gregorian have become a global phenomenon. Their music and concerts are spiritually uplifting and their unique presentation allows their audience to escape from everyday life in a wondrous way - the current CD "Pure Chants" and the planned World Tour 2023 continues this legacy.

The tour will be supported by the “PURE CHANTS” album release plus GREGORIAN plans to film a spectacular television special in a very unique venue for world-wide broadcast and streaming to support the global tour dates.

Guelph, Ont. high school choir sings at Foreigner concert

High school students from Guelph, Ont. had the chance to perform with a legendary rock band on Friday night.

Members of the Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute (GCVI) chamber choir joined Foreigner to sing “I Want to Know What Love Is” on the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.

“It ended up actually becoming a dream come true,” said Michael Weinstangel, a Grade 11 choir member.

It was a dream come true for some parents too.

“I think it was more of an exciting thing for my dad, to be honest,” said Grade 12 choir member Lucy Gouthro, who admits singing in front of 15,000 people was a little terrifying. “All you see is people and nothing else other than people.”

This was actually the third time the choir has sung with Foreigner, but the last concert was in 2019. So, like the band’s 1977 song “Feels Like the First Time,” for these students, it was a novel experience.

Lane Osborne, the choir’s director, credits the entire band for giving students a night they’ll never forget.

“The band has been incredibly supportive of music education and sees the value of allowing students to come on stage and experience what they experience pretty much every night when they’re on tour,” said Osborne.

pic.twitter.com/R74jbvfR3R

Foreigner bass player and 20-year-member Jeff Pilson emphasizes the point and says school choirs elevate performances.

“The beautiful thing about this is you get to see enthusiasm like you’ll never see anywhere else. And it’s very inspiring to us and makes the show better,” said Pilson.

He adds, one moment or person can influence an entire career.

“I was in orchestra in junior hig

h and high school and my orchestra teacher was this incredible man. I feel like without his guidance, I don’t know if I would have ever really had the nerve to enter a music career,” Pilson said.

While some students may not have heard of Foreigner when they first learned of this opportunity, they sure know them now and won’t ever forget.

gregorian chor tour

But the GCVI choir doesn’t have much time to reminisce. Several of the students are now shifting their attention to their next big performances with another big rock band.

On July 2 and 3, they’ll sing “California Stars” and “Cruel Country” with Wilco at Massey Hall in Toronto.

“Originally I thought I was only going to be playing for Foreigner, which I was really excited about … and then Ms. Osborne asked me if I was available for Wilco and I just feel extremely grateful for the opportunity,” said Gemma Bain, a Grade 11 choir member. While Bain continues to practice for the big nights, she says she already has her outfit planned.

Those shows are part of a growing list of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities organized by the school’s music program. Last year, the choir also took the stage at Carnegie Hall .

‘It’s all about love’: Tabernacle Choir to sing with Morehouse and Spelman College glee clubs again

The tabernacle choir will also perform a bilingual concert with adassa and alex melecio.

gregorian chor tour

By Hanna Seariac

The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square will join voices with Morehouse and Spelman colleges as well as Adassa and Alex Melecio come autumn.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said in a press release on Wednesday that the choir will travel to Florida and Georgia for two public concerts and one private performance. It’s part of the choir’s “Hope” tour to inspire unity and harmony across different cultures.

Here’s a closer look at when the performances are and how to get tickets.

Tabernacle Choir ‘Hope’ tour tickets

Tickets to the public performances are free but need to be reserved on the choir’s tour website .

The arena performances will be livestreamed so people living in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, southern Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina can gather in homes, church meetinghouses and community centers to watch the performances together.

Information about the livestreaming options is also available on the choir’s website.

Tabernacle Choir performances in September

Starting on Sept. 7, the choir will perform with Grammy-winning artist Adassa and Alex Melecio at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. She’s sung with the Tabernacle Choir before.

Adassa is known for voicing the character Dolores in “Encanto” — and in particular, for her work on the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

Melecio, who has also sung with the choir previously, signed a record label with Rumor Records a couple years after being a finalist on “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento” — billed on IMDb as “a reality competition show searching for the best Latino talent in the United States.”

“The bilingual concert will feature music and dialogue in Spanish and English that reflects the rich Latin traditions in Florida and the southeastern United States,” the release said.

After the Sept. 7 conference, the choir will perform with the Morehouse College Glee Club and Spelman College Club on Sept. 9 at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel, which is located on the Morehouse campus in Georgia. This will be a private performance.

But the Morehouse and Spelman College glee clubs will join the choir again on Sept. 11 for a concert at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this collaboration,” said Kevin Johnson, director of the Spelman College Glee Club, in the release. “The world needs music, and we will deliver it in a powerful way together. I have good friends in Utah because of this ongoing collaboration. It’s all about love.”

“The music we sing and the experiences we share continue to be beautiful highlights we will remember through the years,” said David Morrow, director of the Morehouse College Glee Club. “We look forward to sharing the majesty of our music and message with our friends in Atlanta.”

Tabernacle Choir President Michael O. Leavitt said, “The choir will join their voices once again with those from Morehouse College and Spelman College glee clubs. When these famed groups perform together, the music is magnificent, and the message is of peace, harmony and shared values.”

The performances are expected to include a range of genres and styles.

Under the direction of Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy, the musical repertoire will include classical masterpieces as well as contemporary music, the release said.

“The diverse selection of music serves as a testament to the choir’s commitment to inclusivity and the universal language of music,” said the release.

Morehouse and Spelman have a prior relationship with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. The college’s glee clubs joined the choir for a Sunday broadcast of “Music and the Spoken Word” on Oct. 22, 2023.

Morehouse, a historically Black college, bestowed the honor of the Gandhi-King-Mandela Peace Prize upon President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2023.

“President Nelson began building bridges with the NAACP in 2018 with a joint call for greater civility and racial harmony in society,” said a press release from Church Newsroom. “The participation of the glee clubs from Morehouse College and Spelman College in The Tabernacle Choir’s weekly broadcast is the next step in this valued relationship.”
