The port of Cape Canaveral is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world with more than 3 million multi-day cruise passengers passing through. The port is the embarkation point for several ships from Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean RCL and Carnival Cruise Lines . Ships dock at either of 7 passenger terminals used for embarkation.

Port Canaveral is home to the Disney Cruise Line Terminal . Currently Disney operates 4 ships ; the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder, the Disney Dream, and the Disney Fantasy. Other major cruiselines sailing from the port include Royal Caribbean (Terminal 1), Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Line .

Cruise Ship Terminals

Port Canaveral is located on the State Road 528 Beachline Expressway, with quick access to Interstate 95 and an uncongested route to Orlando.

State Road 528 (the Beachline), State Road 520 and State Road 50 are the Port’s east-west highway links. These highways intersect with U.S. Highway 1, Interstate 95, the Florida Turnpike and Interstate 4 to provide excellent access to and from Port Canaveral in Florida.

Currently there are seven cruise passenger terminals .

North – A Side

Disney sails from terminal 8 at the A side or north section of the port, The terminal, exclusively used by Disney Cruise Line , is connected with the parking garage and was completely renovated to welcome the newest generation of Disney ships. Other terminals used for embarkation and disembarkation are terminal 5, 6 and 10, also located on the A side of the port.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas operates from Cruise Terminal 1.

South – B Side

Visiting cruise ships dock at either terminal 3 or 4. Terminal 2 is reserved for the exclusive use of Victory Casino Cruises.

All airports are serviced by shuttles, taxicabs and limousines and most have car rental facilities as well.

Cape Canaveral – Cocoa Beach area

Located midway between Miami and Jacksonville, within close proximity of Walt Disney World, Port Canaveral is the gateway to central Florida and a major departure point for cruises to the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean .

Just south of the port is Cocoa Beach, boasting fine white sandy beaches. Stroll along the bustling Cocoa Beach boardwalk, check out the world famous pier, grab a bite at one of the many restaurants, go deep sea fishing, build a sand castle, search for seashells or just relax on the beach.

Just to the north of Cocoa Beach is Jetty Park, a popular family beach and the perfect place for swimming, picnicking, surfing, fishing and many more. Families with children will also love the nearby Brevard Zoo where you can take a kayaking safari through the wilderness. Learn about the different challenges of space flights at the Air Force Space & Missile Museum, stroll through the Rocket Garden, home of Apollo and Gemini-era rockets, or even visit launch pads. From Cape Canaveral fl. you can drive inland to the west into to beautiful Floridian countryside, boasting spectacular scenery and a variety of indigenous wildlife. The world renowned destination of Orlando fl., beloved for its theme parks, is about one hour’s drive from Cape Canaveral.

Taking a cruise from Port Canaveral and looking for an easy place to stay before your trip with a shuttle to the ship?

As one of the busiest cruise ports in the world, Port Canaveral is a popular point to sail to The Bahamas and the Caribbean. And with so many people coming through, that also means that you have plenty of options for a stay right before your trip.

The biggest negative about Port Canaveral is its location. Situated about 45 minutes from the Orlando airport, you have to find transportation to the port before you can start your trip.

The good news is that a number of companies have sprouted up offering shuttle services from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral. 

And once you are near the port, there is no shortage of hotels that offer shuttles to the cruise terminal. While many of these shuttles are included for free with parking packages, you can request a ride anyway, even if you don’t book the package. It may cost a nominal amount ($5-10) but is well worth it.

Below, we’ve arranged two groups of Port Canaveral hotels for cruise passengers. The first are hotels in the area with shuttle service to the Orlando airport and the cruise port. So you can fly in, shuttle to the hotel, and then shuttle to the cruise terminal.

The second group consists of hotels that offer transport to the cruise terminal only.

Port Canaveral Hotels with Orlando Airport AND Cruise Port Shuttles

The following hotels offer shuttles between the Orlando airport and the hotel, along with a shuttle to and from the terminal. You’ll want to check the price of the regular room versus the cost with the shuttle package. Sometimes it’s cheaper to book a room and transportation separate.

Radisson Resort at the Port As with many hotels in the area, the Radisson caters to cruisers. But not every hotel can offer the resort style feel and attractions of the Radisson, such as the large pool with waterfall.

The hotel offers parking packages and a shuttle to the port. As well, the Radisson offers a shuttle between the Orlando airport and the hotel. The fee is $28 per person one way, or $50 round trip. You’ll need to contact the hotel in advance to reserve. Just need a shuttle to the cruise port? That’s available for $6 per person.

Springhill Suites Cape Canaveral Another newer hotel in the area, this location puts you about as close to the cruise port as you can get. The hotel also offers suites for those that want a little more space.

Flying in for your cruise? The Springhill Suites offers airport transportation for $28 per person one way or $50 round trip. On cruise day you can get a ride to the port for just $10.80 per person. Simply let the hotel know at least 48 hours before check-in that you’ll need a ride and they can arrange to get you to the ship.

Beachside Hotel & Suites Situated in the heart of Cocoa Beach, Beachside Hotel & Suites is right near the water and only a 10-minute ride to the cruise terminal. In other words, the location is ideal for anyone wanting to spend some time in the area before their cruise. The hotel was recently renovated and now includes a large lazy river pool and updated rooms.

The hotel’s website says it offers airport shuttle and cruise shuttle packages. This includes a “Fly, Snooze & Cruise” deal that includes round trip service to/from the airport and a transfer to the terminal.

Four Points by Sheraton Located right in the heart of Cocoa Beach, the Four Points is within walking distance to parks, restaurants, the beach, and the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop.

The hotel offers a Fly, Snooze, and Cruise deal that includes round trip transportation from/to the Orlando airport and the hotel. It also includes the ride to the port on cruise day.

Just need a ride to the cruise port from the hotel? That runs $15 per person, plus a $1.50 port access fee. It may be cheaper just to catch an Uber/Lyft.

Cocoa Beach Suites This hotel is a short 2-minute walk to the beach, and you don’t even have to have a car to get to your room. If you fly into Orlando International, then the airport offers transportation options.

Specifically, they offer a “Snooze and Cruise” deal . With this package you get transportation for two from the airport (Orlando, but Melbourne and Sanford are also available), transportation to the ship, and then back to the airport.

Port Canaveral Hotels with Cruise Port Shuttles

While only a few hotels offer packages with shuttles from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral, many more offer shuttles to the cruise terminal. Uber/Lyft are also available and cost about $10-15 (for up to four people) to get to the port.

Note: If you don’t plan to park a car during your cruise, don’t book a parking package just for shuttle access. It’s much more expensive. Simply pay for the shuttle separate or book an Uber/Lyft.

Courtyard by Marriott Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $10 per person This hotel offers a great location between the main road through Cocoa Beach and the beach itself. Guests are only an easy 10 minutes from the port and a short distance away from restaurants and things to do.

The Courtyard offers a ride to the cruise terminal at a price of $10 one way or $16 round trip. 

Best Western Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $10 per person Within walking distance of the Cocoa Beach Pier (and a Publix grocery store for any last minute needs), the Best Western is just a few miles (<10 minutes) from the cruise terminal. Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $10 per person For a great all-around hotel, it’s hard to beat Hampton Inn. There are two in the area. This one is right near the beach and tucked in from the busy road, offering a bit more privacy. The hotel offers a shuttle to the cruise terminal for $10 per person one-way, and rides leave four times a day. You can also book a parking package that includes the shuttle fare.

Hampton Inn & Suites Cape Canaveral Cruise Port Shuttle: $10 per person One of the newest hotels in the area, this Hampton Inn is just a mile from the ports. That means it’s not only a nice stay, but also extremely convenient to get to the cruise ship on embarkation day. We called the hotel, who told us that they offer arranged transportation to the port for $10 per person. Just let them know at check-in that you’ll need a ride. 

Homewood Suites by Hilton Cape Canaveral-Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $10 per person If you need a ride to the port, this represents one of your closest options — just minutes from the ships at Port Canaveral. The hotel offers a shuttle for just $10 per person each way. Simply let them know you want a ride when you check in. Rides depart several times during the morning to get you over to the ships.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Cape Canaveral Cruise Port Shuttle: $10 per person If you want close to the cruise port, this is it. In fact, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the ships cruising in and out of Port Canaveral. The hotel is also among the highest-rated in the area. Rides to the cruise port are $10 per person, and you can let them know at check-in that you need transportation.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $8 per person Cocoa Beach has a lot to offer and is one of the most popular spots in the state. If you plan to enjoy the town before your trip, then you might like a hotel that’s in the heart of the action. This hotel is short walk to the pier, restaurants, and Publix. If you want a ride to the port, it’s $8 per person, leaving multiple times through the day.

La Quinta Inn Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $12 per person In the heart of Cocoa Beach, the La Quinta Inn is a good option for those wanting affordable accommodations near the port and the beach. If you are parking then you can get a parking package that includes a shuttle through the hotel. Otherwise, it’s $12 per person for a lift to the port and rides leave hourly through the morning.

• Distance to Port: 5.5 miles

Residence Inn by Marriott Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach Shuttle: $12 per person While the prices are a little higher, this hotel features suites, great reviews, and is among the closest hotels to Port Canaveral. It also offers more space than most hotel rooms given that it’s an all-suite location. If you need a shuttle, then it costs $12 per person. You can just let the staff know at check-in that you would like a ride and there are two departure times.

Keep in mind this list isn’t exhaustive. If you find a different hotel that you like, simply ask if they offer shuttle service to Port Canaveral. Odds are they do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are shuttle rides round trip between the hotel and the cruise port? While a number of hotels do offer round trip service, some offer only one-way trips. Any package you book will tell you clearly if the ride is roundtrip. If not, you’ll need to arrange alternate transportation to wherever you need to go. There are a number of affordable transport options between Orlando and Port Canaveral that we’ve covered here .

If I need to shuttle to the airport, what’s the earliest I should book a flight from Orlando? Many people fly in for their cruise from Port Canaveral and then fly out the day the cruise arrives back in port. To allow plenty of time, we suggest giving yourself at least an hour after arriving back in Port Canaveral to get off the ship and another hour to shuttle to the airport. We also suggest giving yourself at least two hours before your flight. So if your ship arrives at port at 8:00 a.m., the earliest we’d suggest a flight is 12:00 p.m. It would be more comfortable for 1:00 p.m. or later. I prefer staying in a hotel rather than directly reaching the port from a nearby airport. Well, it does work for many people, but I can’t risk my cruise, nor do I want to stress myself out about being on time.

So, staying in a nearby hotel keeps me safe, especially when I cruise from Port Canaveral, one of the world’s largest cruise ports.

There are so many resources online that help you plan your cruise that, many times, it becomes a little messy to decide what to choose or not.

Selecting the hotel near your cruise port boils down to two things: location and budget. That’s it!

Yes, definitely!

It’s the largest cruise port in the world (it keeps shuffling the top position with Port Miami from time to time), hence the busiest one. On top of that, Florida traffic is insane, and you will see a car smash now and then.

You can opt for Uber, car rental, or private taxi to be safe. But they all cost you $$ to make your vacation out of budget. That’s why booking a hotel that offers free or low-cost shuttle service feels like heaven when traveling on a budget.

I prefer the cruise shuttle service because it saves me money, and I want to be stress-free on holidays.

Location Matters A Lot!

But why? Let’s say you have booked a hotel with a shuttle service and are all set to cruise on a fine day. Suddenly, you need to do some shopping or want to go on some free tours to nearby sites. Here is when the location of your hotel comes into play.

A good location has always helped me experience free walking tours to beaches and parks and made shopping easy in Florida as I don’t pack too much stuff in my backpack.

I use Google Pegman to walk into the area virtually and book a pre-cruise hotel. It might look crazy, but it helps me check the restaurants, shops, parks, and beaches around the hotels. I can even walk on the roads and find what’s at the corner of that road.

Using this technique has saved me from later frustration, and this is my top secret weapon for choosing a location cause, as I already said, Location Matters!!

Best Family-Friendly Port Canaveral Hotels with Shuttle Service

Instead of listing all the hotels in a single list, I will make various sections for different travelers so it becomes easy for you to opt for one that suits you well.

Just 11 miles from the Kennedy Space Center, you will find almost everything here. Yes, everything! A pool that features a tropical waterfall plus a daily continental breakfast.

So, it’s the perfect spot for you if you’re a family looking to conveniently kick-start your vacation.

Tip from travelers: Though the pool’s temporarily closed for a glow-up, it is near Orlando’s thrills, and Cocoa Beach’s serene sands keep the fun within easy reach.

3- Days Inn by Wyndham Cocoa Cruiseport West

Days Inn by Wyndham Cocoa Cruiseport West is a hit or miss for travelers. It offers a convenient stopover with a welcoming outdoor pool and sand volleyball for fun in the sun.

Though praised for its location and the adjoining C S Waffles for a tasty start to the day, guests have mixed feelings about the stay.

Tip from travelers: Some appreciate the friendly staff and shuttle service to the port, despite a noted need for organizational polish and updates. Feedback also highlights a convenient and peaceful environment.

Now comes one of my favorites. If I am on a date, I prefer the suites by Hilton Cape Canaveral on the oceanfront. With its direct ocean access, I can easily transition from my comfortable, well-appointed rooms to the sun-kissed sands of Cocoa Beach.

The hotel has many onsite dining options, including a beachside Tiki Bar serving refreshing cocktails with a side of live entertainment. 

Tip from traveler: For this one, I will give a tip from my own experience. You must visit the nearby fitness center plus breakfast on the beachside. During my visit, the hotel menu had six items, so you can also visit nearby restaurants.

Best Hotels Near Port Canaveral Within 2 km

If you prefer being closest to your cruise port, then the given option is the best for you.

1- Radisson Resort at the Port

It’s just a mile from the cruise ships at Port Canaveral and the Atlantic Ocean . It is like an oasis with its outdoor pool, hot tub, and onsite dining. The Flamingo’s Restaurant and poolside Tiki Bar will offer whatever suits your taste.

Tip from travelers: While guests love the convenience of the port, the beautiful pool area, and the friendly staff, some note that the rooms could use a refresher and more lounge chairs by the pool.

Orlando Hotels Near Port Canaveral Cruise

These hotels are pretty far from Port Canaveral but, for some reason, are very famous among travelers. So, let’s also look at some of the best choices among these.

• Price Range: $119 / 2 adults for 1 night
• Nearby places: Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Downtown Orlando

You will get a free complimentary breakfast and a drive to nearby Orlando Airport. I once visited with one of my friends, and the rooms were pretty clean and comfortable.

Free shuttle to the port, and pets are admitted for a small fee. All in all, it was one of the best among many hotels near Port Canaveral Cruise Port.

Tip from traveler: Though breakfast is free, it might be crowded sometimes, so opt for the less busy times.

My friend and I stayed here the night before our cruise. The lady at the desk was nice enough to let us store our luggage before checking in so that we could go and get some food after a particularly rough day at multiple airports. The room was great, only had a few concerns. The shower curtain was a little short for the shower and definitely got water on the floor. Also, the sliding style door looks nice, but there's no lock for the door, so no privacy or sense of security. Complementary breakfast was really good, but wish there had been some plain eggs and bacon or sausage available.

Somewhat weird setup when you head into the lobby. There's only one reception but I guess they handle both the Hampton Inn and Home2 checkins? The rooms are nice and spacious, plenty of space, bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast area was clean and had a good variety of food. I believe they offer shuttle to the cruise terminal, there is a sign with a QR code that you scan to make a reservation. There is a nominal charge. No other comment since I didn't use it. One thing that really irked me was that whenever the AC is running, there is a sweaty, stinky smell. I'm really not sure what's causing it, and by the time I noticed it, the kids are already asleep.

Unfortunately this is going to be a long one and not a good one. I'll start by telling you about me. I am a Combat Veteran who is medically retried from the United States Marine Corps. My wife, daughter and I decided to take a cruise leaving from Port Canaveral on April 1st. We decided to leave a day early because the drive is about 7.5 hours from our home town. In making this decision, we needed a hotel. We looked on booking.com where rates at this hotel were $420 a night. I suggested we call to see if they do a military rate. We called the number to the hotel and we're routed to a reservation department. Once on the line, they suggested we become a rewards member and combine that with a "military rate." The rooms were confirmed at $185 a night, taxes and fees included. We asked about parking for the cruise and even booked a second room for the people we were traveling with. We arrived a little after 6pm on the 31st of March after what became a nine our drive due to traffic. We thought it was strange we didn't get a mobile key delivered. So we went to the front desk, at which point the nice man asked what we were traveling for, to which we said a cruise, isn't everyone? He laughed and said "yep." He looked at our booking and said "let me see if the room is ready." And walked though a door behind the counter. My first thought was "why wouldn't it be?" About twenty seconds later, he walked out of said room, and said "you can't have the room for that price if you're cruising." That was it... shocked we asked why and he said it was a gov rate. He said it was reserved by the reservation team, who doesn't care. His words, not mine. We, of course, pushed back to which he went back in the room, came back out, and said "yeah, no. It's at the hotels discretion if they honor that confirmed rate." I asked to speak with whoever he was speaking to in the back. I will be 10000% clear. At no point was I rude, I didn't get loud and I maintained a soft posture so I didn't come off as rude. The lady came from the back stood her ground. She wasn't willing to help us, never once apologized or offered any solution but to raise our rate to $219 per room before fees. I digressed because I had been in the car for 9 hours. I said "I'll call Hilton and work it out with them" to which she said well it's up to the hotel, not Hilton if they honor the confirmed rate. This is where is got bad. A lady, who had dark hair and her face was peeling, cut in from the left and said "well we can just cancel your reservation and you can avoid the charge completely." I have NO clue who she was but that was her two cents. That pushed me into the more off posture and I responded, "well that's not an option because I have a 10 year old with me. What should I do, tell her we are sleeping in the car?" She smirked at me and just stood there. I know, we all say"there are two sides, but I am not rude to service industry or retail employees. I have worked in retail more than I have done anything else. I know the majority of society does NOT care about these employees so I make sure I am always pleasant. The original guy came back to charge us the new rate, which was $287 per room. He said he would wave parking, which was a nice gesture but he didn't do it in the end. Then to top it all off. The lady with dark hair and peeling face was drinking at the bar smirking at us the entire time. She was drinking Moscow Mules. Again, this can be verified by Hilton. Please someone look into this, verify what I am saying and respond. Confirmation number #90750535

many new hotels have been built in the cape canaveral cruise port area, and i'm just getting around to checking them out! This Hampton is one of them, and was very comfortable! it is actually connected to a Home2Suites as well. the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and you have the choice of two breakfast areas. coffee is available all day in the lobby. there is a pool with a fire pit area and also a pool bar! the gym is ok- they have a smith machine, some ellipticals, treadmills and some free weights/kettlebells. no yoga mats were provided which is my only complaint. there is also a coin op washer dryer in the gym. the front desk was friendly and accommodating when i needed assistance. i'll definitely consider staying here the next time i am in town!

I stayed here the night before my cruise on the Carnival Mardi Gras. The staff were all outstanding! My room was very clean and comfortable, as was the bed. I slept really well! The breakfast the following morning was delicious and the staff keeping up with it were really hustling. I used the recommended shuttle service to the port and got where I needed to be in time. I would definitely stay here again!

Okay, so I have this tendency to write only good rating however it's because I'm busy and a lazy person who only has the time to write about what I really think is important...and that was the overall experience I had at this hotel with a special shout out to Jon J at the front desk who was ridiculously informative, kind and overall helpful. So not only was check in experience amazing but our room was clean and HUGE. Overall, had an amazing 1 night stay prior to our Disney Cruise. Thank you Hampton Inn...we have yet to experience the breakfast in the morning, but overall experience was so good that I had to write about.

paid for this room $342 in February 2024 for a stay in April 3. upon opening the door the room immediately smelled like stank feet. staff came up brought spray and apologized after smelling the room. at midnight we discovered the toilet would NOT flush...and was told by staff there is a bathroom in the lobby!!!!!! No management present on site! We would have did better at a Motel 6. DO NOT WASTE Your money at this crap of a hotel. Pretty hotel just not welled kept!
