Scotland Tour with Sona Tours Ltd

I had travelled with Sona Tours Ltd a UK based company in month of October and paid GBP15 for this extra excursion which was worth its while. Amazing scenery and excellent commentary on the way up on the train to the top. Will definitely recommend.

I booked the ticket online, as the advert in my hotel room had a 10% discount code for advanced bookings. The trip up the mountain takes approximately 8 minutes, and the service runs every 20 minutes. As the skiing season had not started, the option to get off at the midway station was not possible. Also, at the top, we had to stay within the confines of the building. But saying that, the film and information walls were very informative. And it snowed when I was there, brilliant.

We had a great visit to Aviemore including a lovely day using the mountain railway to go up Cairngorm. Great experience. Nice exhibition and a pleasant lunch.

Visited with my family, cost a fortune to basically wait for ages in a queue, get pushed out the way by rude tourists, sit on a train for 5 minutes then get charged a fortune for some lunch at the top. The views are great, don't get me wrong but I don't need to be ripped off to see them.

Decided to try this out despite the price and was glad we did. Well worth a visit although certainly expensive especially with a family.

Having a friend over from Australia who has never experienced snow before, couldn't get enough of this fantastic day out. Snowing at the car park, all the way up to the ptarmigan top and then enough snow, deep enough to make his first snowman and have a snowball fight. The drivers of the carts where so helpful and friendly. Can't wait to return and go up again for a 4th time.

I came across Sona Yours but I am not finding any reviews online. Any recommendations for our need?

' class=

It looks to me like Sona might simply re-sell tours which are actually organised by local companies. Possibly. It's difficult to tell from their website.

I looked at this offering: https://www.sonatours.co.uk/grouptours/group_tours_selected.aspx?BIID=19

Maybe ask a different question: does anyone in Scotland know if an indian-oriented travel company which involves much less driving? Ideally flying into Edinburgh or Glasgow rather than driving from London?

Thank you for your response. I could not find any reviews on TA and hence feeling skeptical.

Cornwall tour 25.05.2024

We went in a group of 14 by Sona tours to Devon and Cornwall dated 25/5/24. Following recent excellent tour to Scotland, this tour started with a great disappointment with late start, substandard small coach and less efficient driver. However, it was rectified on day 2 by replacement with large coach and new driver. Tour guide was not very friendly and at times sounded rude and insulting as well by citing unpleasant examples and directly targetting Indians for hotel theft picks which was too insulting. Never did he have any introduction talks to know that he was talking to a bunch of highly learned and affluent doctors and professionals. He needs to be told that politeness and courtesy are basics for direct public jobs like these. Hotel selection was very nice and comfortable except for very limited choices for vegetarian breakfast. Eggs are not to be considered as vegetarian breakfast and there should be an alternate option for it as all vegetarians are not eggetarians. Sorry for adverse but honest comments.

Hi Swati, We do understand your reason for this review and we do apologise, as the AC was not working in the bus was beyond our control. Great news we acted on it fast as soon we knew and it been a bank holiday weekend, thus not easy to get a coach. But much appreciated for your patience. And you managed to cover all the places in these 3 days. This is a norm for all the tour manager to brief all clients and nothing personal as we work with this hotels on regular basis. Am surprised with the breakfast as you stayed in a 4 star hotel. Kind Regards Sona Tours

Think twice brfore Booking with Sona Tours

Having booked Mini 4 Day UK Break in December 2023 and paid in full for travel 6 months later. In February 2024 one person in our group developed medical condition and is unable to travel. In March 2024 I went to the Kingsbury Office to find out if I can cancel as it is more than 12 weeks prior to departure, I was told I would lose 30% of cost (not deposit) or the second option was change of name which will still cost £50.00 to amend, which would take less than a minute to do on their system. They suggested to wait till May 2024 in case things change. I went again in May 2024 which is now 7 weeks prior to departure and the medical condition of the person hasn’t improved. I asked if they could justify the charge for name change for the Mini UK Break they refused to give any breakdown or details, I asked them to provide details of the hotel that we will be staying in, I was told they don’t have that details either as they only process and finalize the booking 2 weeks prior to departure date. I was told that they plan their whole year’s holiday in advance but could not provide hotel details. If this is the case what are they charging me £50.00 for? As I wasn’t happy with the explanation given I asked if I could speak with Chetan Shah (Director) hoping he would understand and reduce the charge. I suggested that if we can talk privately as I did not want to discuss in front of his staff or customers. This did not happen. Anyway I explained my situation but he was still not prepared to understand and was adamant about the charge. I queried about his T & C with no clarity or transparency, he brushed me off saying that T & C are approved by ATOL and ABTA. Their brochure does not show any cancellation or change of name charges, how can this be approved by ABTA or ATOL makes you wonder. Cancellation charges are only shown once you are issued with the confirmation of travel. The majority of T & C only applies to overseas travel and they incorporated these as standard to their Local travel as well !!! During our conversation I was hinted many times that I was wasting his time, this is kind of arrogant behaviour, attitude and professionalism one would not expect from Company Director. No customer care or satisfaction shown, just imagine than, what would you expect from Sales Staff. If you check the responses and replies to other reviewer’s comment, there is no remorse or empathy from Sona Tours. It is always customer’s or their third party selection’s fault, never theirs. They even don’t add name to their replies, so that you cannot hold anyone to be accountable, this just shows how arrogant the Company is. They are also prepared to take a cancer patient to court and demand legal fees, what chance has anyone else got. I wouldn’t call this as an Exquisite Personal Service, neither Outstanding Value. ATOL, ABTA bonding may be good if the company goes burst, not in this case as their T & C’s are there for their benefit and interest and not for customers. Even after so many negative reviews Sona Tours have made no effort to change. Questions still arises in one’s mind how does ABTA, ATOL after their constant monitoring can let Sona Tours get away with their Code of Practice. If anyone wants to book their holidays or their mini breaks please think twice as there are many Asian Tour Operators available in the Country. As we have no other options left I am just hoping that our forth coming mini break is not as disappointing and stressful as this experience even before it has started, hope the hotel and food would be of good standard. In their final paragraph of all their reply they audaciously mention about “your confidence has not been affected to an extent”…….etc. My confidence in Sona Tours is Zero.

Dear Ash, We are glad that you took advantage of the special discount offered last year December. Not once you mention that you had not taken your TRAVEL INSURANCE cover when you booked this holiday. This is not mandatory but it is a norm and we do recommend that you shall have one at the time of the booking. Our terms and conditions, which you came with the a copy and also seen on our website, is stated correctly and verified. Not sure what part you did not understand, and clearly states the charges on change of name. In closing, we do thank you for bringing the above matters to our attention and would once again like to apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience caused. Regards Sona Tours

Never book with Sona Tours

On 11th February 2022 I booked a package holiday with Sona Tours to go to Alaska. We were supposed to go in August 2022 and there were 15 of us going. We booked the trip in February and each paid £100 deposit. Unfortunately in April I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and would not be able to go on this holiday. My husband went to their office immediately to inform them that we would need to cancel our place on the trip and I sent an email on 25th April confirming the cancellation. We did not hear anything back from Sona Tours. In June, we received an email demanding we pay £3250 (half the cost of the holiday) as a cancellation fee. As you can imagine, this was a huge shock to us and not something we could afford as we had spent a lot of money on my cancer treatment. They also pretended that they could not find our original email informing them of our cancellation (but later they found it). We hoped under the circumstances they would be more understanding of our situation, but they demonstrated no empathy for the toll this was taking on my mental health. Meanwhile my husband contacted our travel insurance, who were extremely supportive, and they thankfully told us that they will pay the amount to Sona Tours directly. We informed Sona Tours of this but instead they sent us a court order and a deadline to pay the amount. They did not want to deal with our insurance company, they only wanted us to pay them. In the end our insurance company paid them £3250 but we still had to pay the court fee (because it’s in their T&C’s that we need to pay the court fee) of £205. They final vulgar act Sona Tours did, was they refused to give us back our deposit of £200 after they had received their payment, and decided to take this as their court fee. I am writing this to highlight what a terrible company Sona Tours is and how disgusting their behaviour has been towards me. Their emails, particularly from Chetan, were extremely rude and threatening. Had it not been for my daughters, who had to respond to them on my behalf because I was too unwell. I should not have had to deal with this stress shortly after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and having to go through chemo and surgery. I urge anyone considering booking a holiday via Sona Tours to think twice about it and go through their unfair terms and conditions with a fine tooth comb so you know what to expect in case anything should go wrong. I hope this helps prevent someone else from going through what I have had to go through with them.

Dear Dipti Shah, It is always disappointing to be told of instances where a client’s holiday arrangements may not have proved entirely as anticipated and we have, therefore, noted your observations about your recent booking. We are very sorry. The facts are that when you booked, signed, and agreed to our Terms and Conditions, we had explained about the low deposit scheme, cancellations and recommended to have a travel insurance and all well covered in our T & C. The original booking form with T & C were returned to you, as we kept a scan copy. We are fully ABTA and ATOL bonded thus prepare our T& C accordingly. Despite the many demands requested for the balance you had not responded. Only when the matter went legal, you initiated the matter with the insurance. Any insurance will not liaise with us as we are a third party to them, and we have no contractual agreement as you expected us to liaise with them. This matter could have resolved with ease. Finally, we hope that your confidence has not been affected to an extent that it would prevent you from choosing our company again for your holiday requirements. Kind Regards Sona Tours

4 day Scotland Highlands trip aug 2023

We took the 4 days Scotland Highlands tour in August 2023(17th - 20th) and by end of fourth day we realised that Sona travels had arranged a bus travel for 4 days with few sightseeing spots. One of the most basic tours with no facilities in the bus. No WiFi, no charging points and even the toilet had restricted use with zero water facilities. Coming to the tour itinerary - the first day started with a delay of 1 hour. We were not provided with the tour manager contact details and no bus information. Cable car in Ben Nevis was cancelled due to weather issues but there was no alternative arranged. What a shame! Extra charge for boat ride in Loch Lomond. Edinburgh castle visit was arranged on a festival day which made the entire sightseeing very stressful and delayed. Most of the spots were just shown from outside or while being inside the bus. One of the worst tour experiences. Last day ended worst with no sufficient stops for toilets. Tour manager - The tour guide/manager had zero knowledge about these historical beauties. She barely knew anything about the city or any basic information. She was polite and hospital. However there was zero entertainment throughout the trip. It expected that when we are given some positive experience. The only positives were the dinner for first two nights and the driver....who drove very safe and maintained the timings. Hotel - As promised 3 star it was not even a budget stay. The rooms were very basic with no facilities like water bottle, phone, AC or cleaning of sheets. We had request for towel change. Only positive was the breakfast....hot and fresh continental range. I will never recommend this travels to anyone. It's a waste of money experience wise.

Dear Deepti Iyer, It is always disappointing to be told of instances where a client’s holiday arrangements may not have proved entirely as anticipated and we have, therefore, noted your observations about your recent booking. We are very sorry. To clarify, this is an escorted group COACH tour and we have published the detailed itinerary with other information in particularize all the sightseeing’s, optional tours, and other matters, such as transport (coach), weather and accommodation too. Regarding the delay, we cannot control the traffic being a road closure due to an accident which was the case in yours as our first pickup was on time. Same with the crowd visiting these public and historic sightseeing during August holiday season. We have got great reviews of this guide as seen on the reviews here. We do sincerely appreciate for you positive feedback on the driver, guide and the meals. Finally, we hope that your confidence has not been affected to an extent that it would prevent you from choosing our company again for your holiday requirements. Kind Regards Sona Tours

My awful expriance with sonatours

I booked with sona tours twice before that’s my third time this experience was so bad they didn’t stay with the planned day the driver lost several time took wrong turns we spend the whole day on the coach than the Indian food place was non vegetarian instead of a halal food as I request on the application and it was awful experience , than the hotel was good looking the rooms air condition was not working in either of those nights and Tv was not working in my room complaint to Receiption no results and daughter got bitted by bed bugs awfully the bathroom door lock not working none our bedsheets wore changed . Than tour guide was not so nice he was busy guiding his native peoples.I requested to seat with my family the agent in the office said the tour guide will arrange it than the tours guide also said the once we get all the people than his going to sort out our seats but these 3 day tour he never sorted it out my family we all seat far from each other .than the Disneyland day tour guide give out Disney tickets but not my family he keep saying he has my ticket but didn’t give it us until I got bit angry my kids wore upset not having the tickets.I paid more money as my little one didn’t go on the offer so I paid full ticket price for all of us .experience this rubbish time it would be much better to take euro star never take this service again in my life I would advise everyone better to us other service than this you don’t get full day tour we all stack in the coach for whole first day.

Dear Mrs R Ali It is always disappointing to be told of instances where a client’s holiday arrangements may not have proved entirely as anticipated and we have, therefore, noted your observations about your recent booking. We are very sorry. To clarify, this is an escorted group COACH tour, and your booking came in late, less than 2 weeks before departure, after we had closed sales, as you insisted and have travelled with us thus, we accommodated you. We had explained you the reason for paying extra. Which was the contracted ticket to Disney needs to be booked before 30days and we got the group tickets in advance, delivered to our office. Whereas yours was different due to the late booking. Regarding seating arrangement, all the seats were allocated in the bus on first come first serve basis as then not fair to move others to accommodate your family and was communicated at the time of booking. We did request other passengers during the tour, but not keen to move. We were sorry to read of your disappointment about your accommodation. Without wishing to appear unsympathetic, we confirm that the service provided by the hotel is outside of our direct control. We are sorry to read the problems you encountered with your room however we do hope you will appreciate this matter is beyond our direct control. Finally, we hope that your confidence has not been affected to an extent that it would prevent you from choosing our company again for your holiday requirements. Kind Regards Sona Tours

Room for improvement,

We faced a lot of issues, we were told seats were allocated, which weren't, so ended, being scattered & got seats at the back. Not so happy with the 2 guides, the Indian one was not very knowledgeable of Japan, any questions we had, he didn't know & couldn't give us an answer. The Japanese guide was very knowledgeable but struggled for words, not very good command of English. Group number was very large, 35, very difficult to cope. No variety of food @ dinner monotonous Indian food. Homeward journey, 8 hours wait, could've got us an earlier flight. Not very good value for price paid. I also, forgot to mention, when l gave Rita, a cheque @ Sona Tours, there was an error, at 1st, she asked me to initial it but on 2nd thoughts, she asked me to write a new cheque. After few days, she calls to say cheque has been sent back, she doesn't know the reason. Ultimately, they said l had pay £20/ because the cheque was sent back, saying l hadn't signed it. Isn't the duty of sonatours to check details before they accept it? It was an error on their part & make money of me £20/ l would never recommend anyone to take sonatours again. There are so many negative reviews, l wish l had read them, before booking with them. I have learnt my lesson.

Dear Hilda We wish to point out that it is always our intention to provide the best possible service to all our clients. Any feedback from our clients is therefore, of paramount importance and invaluable to the quality control of our operation. It is always disappointing to be told of instances where a client’s holiday arrangements may not have proved entirely as anticipated and we have, therefore, noted your observations with regard to your recent holiday. If we may clarify, this is a group tour and tickets are not bought individually, thus the airline allocates the seats. I know for a fact that this group were lucky to sit all together whether it been front or back. The same methodology applies for hotels on allocation of rooms as depends on their inventory. On the point of the tour manager’s responsibility is to ensure that he manages and has all in control, ensuring everything runs smoothly on the tour. The guide was excellent, as what we have heard from other travelers. Sorry if it did not meet to your standards. Surely you must have read the itinerary, as we clearly mention that we provide Indian Dinner. We have been running these tours over 15 years and we have had experience of the meals , especially for those vegetarians as they do use Fish oil in cooking. Certainly you must have tried the local cuisines at lunchtime or breakfast in the hotel. Reference to your cheque, the onus is on you. We are not a financial institution. We had asked you to do a bank transfer at the first place. Which you did later after the cheque bounced. In closing, we do thank you for bringing the above matters to our attention and would once again like to apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience caused. Further, we hope that, despite the above, you had enjoyed your holiday overall as seen from the pictures. Regards Sona Tours

Tour taken was Canada Alaska tour

Tour taken was Canada Alaska tour. Guide was very professional and knowledgeable. Canada on land itinerary was good except last two days. Hells Gate excursion was not worth the time and money spent. Staff members at the office in London has inconsistent answers for the same questions asked by individual group members. We paid for category 2c balcony room but ended up getting lower category 2d room.

Date of experience : August 08, 2023

Dear Bharat Acharya, Many thanks for sharing your review and your positive feedback on the guide and the itinerary. To clarify we had a zoom meeting before the tour departed and all was explained with FAQs at the end too. Furthermore, you had the option not to book Hells Gate excursion which was only CAD$40 (£20). Regards to the cabin if you wanted a specific cabin the price was higher, but you opted for the allocated balcony cabin we had. These contracted cabins are allocated by the cruise as we do a group booking with them. Else the specific one will have been booked at the time of your booking with a much higher price. Please accept our apologies on not getting the balcony cabin as you wished, but overall, I hear you all had a good time, and you joined our group for the whale watching tour. Kind Regards Sona Tours

Electrifying Japan

Would like to start by thanking some amazing people Nijesh Shah was an absolutely amazing tour manager, cannot fault him at all he always put the group first in terms of safety, well-being and happiness. Kay San our local guide was very very knowledgeable, would always answer any questions we had, and if there was something she was not fully sure on she would fact check and get back to us. Both of these people just exuded kindness and happiness! The tour itself was meticulously planned with good time at each sight or activity, Nijesh and Kay san even went out of there way on a few occasions to really treat us and give us an authentic Japanese experience which I know we and the group will never forget. I personally am a lot younger than the rest of the clientele on the tour but everyone was so lovely we bonded over the first two days and really had an amazing time, lifelong friends have been made certainly! I will definitely be visiting Japan again and what an amazing first time with Sona Tours! :D

Bali senior citizens

We all senior citizens, ladies went to Bali in Sept 2023 and we had a great time. Despite the food was not to our expectations but Sona tours changed the menus to Indian food which made us feel like not missing home. They had chosen great hotels with amazing breakfast menu. The itinerary with all the sight seeings went smoothly. The local guide was very helpful but had a mix English which confused us but gave us a laugh. Will recommend Sona tours for Bali tour.

Electrifying Japan tour Sep 23

Overall a very good tour although a little hectic. DJ & Emiko looked after us very well. Emiko was a great guide and very informative. The hotels & breakfasts were all great apart from the set breakfast at Sengokuhara Prince Hotel. On the plus side the hotel's Onsen facilities were great. All Indian dinners were good though spicy. Personally we would prefer less chillies, however we understand that Sona has to cater for the whole group. With regards to the non-Indian dinner of pasta & pizza, we would have preferred more than the one slice of pizza and less of the pasta. We will depart from our pick-up point in London early in the morning and you will sit back and relax in our comfortable and luxurious coach till we reach our first destination which will be Sri Venkateswara Balaji Temple in Birmingham. Here you will have the privilege for performing your prayers.

After that we will depart towards the north where you will be able to enjoy the scenic views and capture the panoramic stills on to your cameras whilst we are travelling to the Lake District. At the Lake District we will visit the Windermere Lake which is England’s largest fresh water Lake. Here you will have the chance of either going on to the cruise or hiring the power boat to have a thrilling experience of the lake. You will also have some time to visit the town.

You will then return to the coach and we will depart for Glasgow (Scotland). We will travel via one of the most scenic and beautiful route which will give us a chance to view the  Kirkstone Pass  which is  a  mountain pass   in the Lake District having   an altitude of 1,489 feet (454 m)  and  Ullswater Lake  which is the second largest lake in English Lake District and it will accompany us for approximately 14.5 kms. We will then join the motorway to reach Glasgow via Gretna Green.  Gretna Green  is a village in the south of Scotland famous for runaway weddings. It is in Dumfries and Galloway, near the mouth of the River Esk and was historically the first village in Scotland. . On the arrival at Glasgow, We will stop at the city centre which is the heart of Glasgow. It consists of Glasgow Cathedral, City Chambers and the famous St. Georges Square.

After the wonderful journey of our first day and knowing each other very well we will head for our dinner at Indian restaurant where there will be irresistible and delicious meal waiting for you. Once we will have our dinner, we will reach our hotel where you will have a relaxing night stay and make yourselves prepared for the next day attractions.

Day 2 - Highlands & Glenfinnan viaduct - Harry potter film Location .

After early breakfast we will depart towards Highland to view the magnificient mountains and lake scenery. On the way our first stop will be at Loch Lomond, one of the prettiest and largest Lochs in the whole of Scotland. We then visit the infamous site of the 1692 Glencoe massacre one of the most famous Glens, where we pause for a photo-stop and to soak up the atmosphere in that haunting Glen, followed by a short drive to Fort William in the shadow of Britains highest mountain ~ Ben Nevis, at Nevis range we take a gondola  to Anoch Mòr standing at 1,345 metres above sea level.

After lunch we will Visit the Neptune's staircase, which is a staircase lock comprising eight locks on the Caledonian Canal. The system was originally hand-powered but has been converted to hydraulic operation. We than make our way to the Glenfinnan Visitor center to have a photo stop of the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Glenfinnan memorial. The views here are simply spectacular. You will also see the 21 arches of the majestic Glenfinnan Viaduct curve through the glen in a scene immortalised as the route to Harry Potter’s Hogwarts. Harry Potter fans will certainly know it as the bridge that takes the boy wizard to Hogwarts school. We will try to arrive just in time to see the Jacobite Steam train cross over the bridge; so don't forget to bring your camera for this iconic photo! The Jacobite Steam Train runs from 28th march 2024 to 25th october 2024. Out with these dates you will not see the train cross the Viaduct. Please note: The Jacobite Steam Train is operated by another company. We cannot always guarantee that your tour and the train will meet up at the same time.

In 1745, Glenfinnan was also where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in an ill-fated attempt to reinstate the exiled Stuarts onto the throne of Great Britain and Ireland. The Glenfinnan Monument lies at the head of Loch Shiel and was erected in 1815, to honour the Jacobites who fought and died in the cause of Bonnie Prince Charlie. During this stop you will have to time to visit the monument.

End the day with an amazing dinner at one of our restaurant before making your way back to the hotel.

Breakfast and Dinner

Day 3: Edinburgh

At early morning, after our breakfast we will make our check out at the hotel and depart for the capital city of Scotland - Edinburgh! Taylor Swift kneels while singing onstage.

Edinburgh is known for its annual Fringe Festival.

Each year, up-and-coming performers bring their best stuff to the Scottish capital to try and cultivate an audience.

On June 7-9, Taylor Swift — who arguably might have the largest fanbase in the world — is headed to Edinburgh not for the Fringe Fest but three huge ‘Eras Tour’ concerts at Murrayfield Stadium with special guest Paramore.

As expected, tickets aren’t exactly cheap to see the Time Magazine 2023 Person Of The Year live.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $246 USD before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other shows start anywhere from $255 to $339 before fees.

While that might sound expensive, seats are much, much cheaper than they were after the release of Taylor’s “Tortured Poet’s Department” on April 19.

Back then, $498 was the cheapest price you’d pay to get in the door at Murrayfield Stadium.

Now that seats can be found for $246, Swifties can save over $250 (!) just by waiting until the last minute.

Sure, those aren’t exactly Fringe Festival prices but for any Tay Tay megafan, this is a steal.

For more information, we’ve got everything you need to know and more about Taylor Swift’s three ‘Eras Tour’ concerts at Edinburgh, GB’s Murrayfield Stadium below.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

Taylor Swift Edinburgh tickets 2024

A complete calendar including all ‘Eras Tour’ Murrayfield Stadium concert dates and links to the cheapest tickets available can be found here:

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

Taylor Swift set list

Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ news

Our team has been following the ‘Eras Tour’ closely over the past year.

Over the past few months, we spoke to a Swiftie who  shared some helpful tips  about seeing Taylor live, reported on  dropping ticket prices  and  came up with a list of all the most exciting fan trends .

Taylor Swift new music

Swift’s  “The Tortured Poets Department”  was released at midnight (and subsequently at 2 a.m.) on Friday, April 19.

While every listener will likely come away with their own favorites, we particularly enjoyed the sleek, synthy “Fortnight,” icy “So Long, London,” anthemic “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” a bombastic slow build of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and gorgeously arranged “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus.”

If you want to give it a spin — if you haven’t already, that is — you can find “The Tortured Poets Department”  here .

The Hayley Williams-fronted pop-punk rockers are opening for Swift from May through August this year. This may come as a bit of a surprise to some fans considering that the group mounted a successful arena tour of their own in 2023.

That tour, came on the heels of Paramore’s 2022 reunion; prior to that, the band had been on a five-year hiatus.

For fans who want to check out their latest, their 2023 album “This Is Why” can be heard  here .

Huge stars on tour in 2024

Although it will cost an arm and a leg (sometimes more!) to see Swift live this year, there are much more affordable — likely stateside — concerts you can attend this year.

Here are just five of our favorite artists you won’t want to miss live.

•  Olivia Rodrigo

•  Kacey Musgraves

•  Pink

•  Gracie Abrams

•  Billie Eilish

Who else is on the road this year? Check out our list of the  50 biggest concert tours in 2024  to find out.

Country Details

Loch Lomond – From the Loch admire the breath-taking beauty & wealth of history, legend and folklore whilst on board a boat sailing through the Loch.

In Scotland the currency you will require will be Pounds (GBP/Sterling). Star Tours’ advices passengers to exchange any spending money for their holiday before they actually travel. Whilst on tour it is very inconvenient to change money and most places we will be visiting will not have ATM machines or accept credit/debit cards.

We also advice our passengers to keep some change in coins on them whilst on tour as using toilets in many parts of Scotland is not free.

An important point to note whilst on a touring holiday is that some long journeys are unavoidable especially when travelling from city to city.

It is advisable passengers carry necessities that they may need for the day such as water, dry snacks, cameras etc. with them in their hand luggage.

For this tour it should be noted that the travel times are extensive on this tour.

Please see a summary of the distances you will be covering below:

Breakfast will be provided at the hotels. The breakfast is usually in a separate dining area of the hotel, and is usually a continental breakfast, which will consist of tea, coffee, bread, cereals, fruit and yogurt.

Passengers can choose from different diets, including vegetarian, Jain or non-vegetarian (Halal will not always be available) meals. Passengers should advice their tour representative of their preferred diet on the day one. The meals are pre-set buffet and a choice of menu is not available. Meals will be provided with Tap Water only.

Lunches are usually vegetarian only and are provided outdoors at a service station/rest area where limited or no seating is available. Lunch is served in a picnic style buffet arrangement. Dinners are usually provided within the hotel or restaurant in a separate dining facility. You should always consult your tour representative if you are not sure of what ingredients a dish contains.

Foreign Office Travel Advice

For the latest travel advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office click on the link below to get Country specific details, as Scotland is part of the UK there are no advisories for people travelling from the UK.

For a full list of the latest travel advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office click here

Not all hotels in this tour will have air-conditioning so you should carry a small portable fan with you especially during the summer months.

Please also note that not all hotels provide a kettle so if hot water is required for warming milk etc in the hotel then it is advisable to carry a bottle warmer / kettle as well as a thermos flask. Passengers may also want to carry a small travel iron and hair dryer etc, as many hotel rooms may not have these facilities.

If you use services such as the phone or mini bar, or pay TV whilst in your room, you will have to pay the hotel directly when you check out; these services are not included in your tour cost.

The maximum occupancy per room on this tour is 3 person(s).

Other Advisories

High altitude.

You should only make trips to high altitudes if you feel healthy. The following recommendations apply:

Advanced age is no barrier to high altitude. For blood pressure patients who are well controlled with medication, the altitude is not a concern. Asthmatics can travel to high altitudes without any problems. High-altitude air is less polluted with particles that can cause an asthma attack. Epileptics who are well controlled with medication should be able to negotiate the altitude.

Pregnant women: There may be a certain risk for pregnancy even without pre-existing diseases over 2500-3000 metres. Caution is therefore advised if in doubt, please consult your doctor in advance.

Infants: Short-term stays at the mountain tops are unproblematic. Infants and young children are often unable to equalise pressure during descent and are therefore increasingly at risk of ear irritation. Regular swallowing (drinking, sucking on a bottle) during the descent can prevent the occurrence of irritation.

Because children can chill faster than adults, always pay attention to sufficient protection from the cold at high altitude. Sunglasses and a good sunscreen are necessary on the glaciers!

High altitude visits not recommended for:

Lung and heart patients who are already short of breath while at rest or when climbing stairs are advised not to stay at high altitude. Patients with angina pectoris or severely impaired performance with heart enlargement and heart failure should not visit high altitude. Coronary artery disease (angina pectoris) and heart enlargement with medical therapy should not visit high altitude. Patients with a pronounced risk profile for cardiovascular disease (smoker + high blood pressure + diabetes + high blood fats + overweight + occasional chest pain) should consult the doctor before visiting high altitude.

Do not stay at high altitude after having striated muscles or a stroke.

Pick up Times

Passengers should arrive at their pick-up point no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Your pick-up point, address and time will be stated on your invoice. If you have selected a pick-up time outside of Wembley then you will be confirmed your pick-up time.

Pick-up will be Northbound Services and drop-off will be at Southbound Services.

Visa Details

You do not require Schengen visas for this tour, however if you hold a non EU passport then you will require UK Visa. Please consult the British Embassy in your country of residence.

Passengers can be well prepared by ensuring they are carrying appropriate clothing, footwear and accessories. Passengers should also be aware that during the winter months most of the sightseeing will be in the dark as, in Scotland, the day becomes dark very early during winter. Passengers should consult with Star Tours at the time of booking if they are unsure.

Wheelchairs & Child Seats

We will accept light weight manual wheelchairs for travel, subject to them being capable of being stowed in the luggage hold of the coach.  It is also essential that a family member is also on the tour to push their wheelchair. Star Tour’s will also request hotels for suitably equipped rooms; however, this is only on a request basis and cannot be guaranteed. It should be noted Ben Nevis is not fully accessible for a wheelchair user. Some part of Edinburgh will have cobbled streets, which may not be suitable for wheelchairs.

In most of Europe, the use of child seats in coaches is mandatory for children under the age of 12 or who are shorter than 150 cm. Children under 7 years old or less than 125 cm tall must use a child seat with a harness or a restraint system. Children between 7 and 12 years old or between 125 and 150 cm tall must use a booster seat or a seat cushion. It is the responsibility of the child's parent or guardian to provide the appropriate child seat for their child.

Reply from Sonatours

Date of experience : 08 August 2023

Thank you Sona for the wonderful surprise of the sushi cooking lesson. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it.Overall we had a great time and look forward to booking another tour in the near future.

Taylor Swift latest: Star forced to take guitar break due to 'weird cramp'; fans spotted getting 'engaged'

The singer's global tour - the highest-grossing of all time - has performed her first UK Eras show in Edinburgh. You can all the latest updates, fan reaction and the concert as it happened below...

Well that's all from us tonight, thank you for following along.

If you are heading back from Murrayfield Stadium, get home safe, and if you're already in bed, have a good sleep.

Rest those vocal cords Swifties - Tay Tay will be back tomorrow.

Sadly, the show has come to an end.

Taylor Swift fans will definitely be hoarse tomorrow after constantly singing, cheering and shouting for more than three hours.

Before we close our live coverage, here's a look at some of the best pictures from tonight's concert...

By Katie Spencer , arts and entertainment correspondent at Murrayfield Stadium

Taylor Swift has smashed a triumphant set in front of enormous crowds in Edinburgh on her record-breaking Eras tour, telling fans it was "the wildest way to welcome a lass".

As she welcomed the crowd, she announced it was officially the highest attended stadium show in Scottish history.

"Oh hi," she casually told the more than 70,000 people who came to see her perform.

The 34-year-old star initially took to the stage in a diamante encrusted corseted leotard and bejewelled cowboy boots.

She later admitted: "This tour has been the most fun I've had in my entire life….my one regret now is that I really should have come to perform in Scotland more.

"I can't stop staring at you, I'm captivated by this audience."

Blasting through her biggest hits in a set of 40+ songs, on stage for more than three hours, she promised to take fans on a "grand adventure" they'd never forget. She certainly did that.

"After tonight, you're going to think about us and the memories we made," she promised.

The evening was "unforgettable", she told the crowd, while her last song of the night, Karma, was dedicated to the crowd.

"Edinburgh you have given us everything you could possibly give us tonight."

It was a pinch yourself evening for Swifties fortunate enough to get a ticket. Lyrics memorised, costumes perfected.

The show a musical marathon which demonstrated not only why Swift is arguably one of the greatest songwriters of modern pop music but also one of the world's most accomplished performers.

The show itself, paced perfectly to hold the audience's interest with slick dance routines and theatrical, at times fantastical, staging.

The screams of support for her most famous hits were deafening. Countless fans leaving Murrayfield hoarse after she told the story of her eight Eras whilst delivering the ultimate singalong.

This was a long day for many, a hardened few sat outside since dawn to be among the first in-line to secure a front row spot.

"Anything's worth it for Taylor," Julia had told me at 7am outside the stadium. Her friend admitting she'd "sell my kidneys, probably both lungs" to get close to the star.

Why does she elicit such a reaction? Despite her billionaire status, Swift has somehow remained an artist whose voice remains real, authentic and honest.

Her songwriting - a shared diary of sorts - resonating all the more for her openness about her flaws, bad break-ups, sharing with fans not only the joy of falling in love, but the heartbreak.

The crowd at Murrayfield were word-perfect for her hits like You Belong With Me, the stadium echoing with noise during We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

If performing songs from her Tortured Poets Department Era - her latest album written about her ill-fated London loves - took on more poignancy for Swift this being the UK leg of her tour, she gave no indication on stage.

An all but faultless performance but for the acoustic section of her show, where the star was forced to briefly stop playing the guitar, saying: "My hand has frozen in a weird cramp... this is so embarrassing... its like performing with a claw. No one relates."

While it's understandable that many balk at the stupidly expensive price of some VIP packages, few could question Taylor's commitment to offering her fans the ultimate experience. The confetti canons and fireworks, a needless distraction really from what she does best - singing out.

A one-woman economy boosting machine, Swift's 15 UK shows are projected by some to boost the UK economy by almost £1bn with fans shelling out, not only on tickets, but accommodation, travel, and pre-show parties.

I spoke to people who travelled here from Spain, The Netherlands, America, India and even Australia.

Fans who'd spent months planning their costumes, painstakingly threading bracelets, embroidering jackets, which is undoubtedly half the fun.

While this level of pop obsession is nothing new, that one artist can still achieve this in an age where we are swamped with musical choice speaks volumes as to the power of Swift's music.

Forget about politicians touring the country, Taylor Swift's whereabouts will be what's dominating the national conversation for vast swathes of the country over the next month.

While some may scoff at the tweeness of swapping friendship bracelets, dressing-up and glitter - there is a delightfulness to being a part of the Swift crowd which is a warm and welcoming world.

Swift's proving herself to be, not only a prolific songwriter, but the ultimate showwoman.

That's it Swifties, the first UK Eras tour show has come to an end.

Taylor Swift closed Murrayfield Stadium with a huge confetti cannon display as she performed Karma for her adoring fans.

The superstar has been performing for more than three hours and the crowd has spent that time cheering, clapping and singing their hearts out.

She will be back at the stadium for another show tomorrow night, and the night after, being moving on to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool.

Rewinding slightly to the start of the show, here's the moment Taylor Swift spoke to her fans in Edinburgh during her opening act.

The superstar welcomed them to the Eras tour, telling them the last time she was in Scotland was more than a decade ago.

"Tonight's concert is the most highly attended show in Scottish history," she said.

"This is the wildest way to welcome a lass to your city."

Murrayfield Stadium was lit up by fans during Taylor Swift's performance of Daylight from her Lover album.

Thousands of fans held up their glowing bracelets and phones during the song.

Here's a clip...

The show is almost coming to an end and Swift is going out in her Midnights era.

She kicks off with a rendition of Lavender Haze, emerging on the stage in a faux fur purple coat and black knee-high boots.

Taylor has moved to her acoustic section now - a moment fans have been waiting for.

This is the time the superstar performs two surprise tracks, which change at every show.

Many had thought she might pick Castles Crumbling from Speak Now as a reference to Edinburgh Castle.

But as she begins the set, with Would've Should've Could've from Midnights, she is forced to briefly stop playing her guitar.

"My hand has frozen in a weird cramp…this is so embarrassing….its like performing with a claw," she tells the crowd.

"No one relates."

A baker has created a Swift-themed cake to celebrate the star's arrival and is hoping it makes it to her.

Cathryn Klawikowska, 34, took eight hours to bake the nine-layer red velvet treat.

Edyta Matysiak took three days to make the figurine.

Ms Klawikowska, head designer at 3D Cakes near Murrayfield, hopes it will end up backstage at the stadium.

She added: "I'm hoping to get this to Taylor though."

Swift turns now to her latest album - the Tortured Poets Department.

She kicks off the era with But Daddy I Love Him and comes out wearing a gorgeous white gown covered in lyrics.

"I love you, it's ruining my life" can be seen across it - lyrics from her biggest hit of the album Fortnight.
