Sylhet tour plan

The first-day travel destinations in Sylhet Tour will be Ratargul and Bichanakandi. In the morning, we will reach Sylhet, freshen up at the hotel and have breakfast, then go to Ratargul Swamp Forest. From there, we will head to Bichanakandi. We will return to Sylhet in the evening and have dinner at the famous Pansi or Panch Bhai restaurant in Sylhet.

On the second day after breakfast, we will leave for Jaflong. On the way, we will see the Haripur gas field’s fire pit. From there, we will go for lunch at Jaflong on the banks of the Piyain River. After visiting Jaflong and seeing the breathtaking tea garden, we will go to Sangrampunji Jharna. Once we return to Sylhet in the evening, the arrangement will be for group-based rooms to freshen up. Then after dinner, we will say goodbye to magnificent Sylhet and get on the bus to Dhaka. This is our plan of Sylhet Tour Package.

Best time to travel: all year round

Day1: We take the morning train from Dhaka to Sylhet with a journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.  After a rest we will take a short city tour. Overnight stay in Sylhet.

Day2: A full day excursion to Bisnakandia and Ratargul swamp forest, arriving back in Sylhet by late afternoon.  Overnight stay in Sylhet.

Day3: Today we head towards Srimangal, and en route we visit Tamabil and Jaflong.  This is a hilly border area with India, overshadowed by subtropical rain forests and the Dawki River – the colour of  the water shifting from blue and green to clear at various times..   All of these locations are situated close by the Indian Meghalaya Ranges.  In this area you will see beautiful wide rivers, dense green countryside and you will also observe stone harvesting from the River Sharee.  The natural beauty of these destinations makes them highly popular among local and foreign tourists.  Overnight stay in Srimangal

Day4: An early start today for a trek through Lawachara National Park. This is the best time for a unique experience and to observe wildlife.  The endangered Hoolock Gibbon lives in the high trees of this park and if you are lucky you will see some, though you will most certainly hear them first!   A delightful walk around winding tracks and across small streams before visiting a tribal village deep in the forest makes this excursion extra special.  After lunch in the afternoon we visit Bikkabil, a tea growing area with lush landscapes and interesting local life.  If time permits we will also visit Madhabpur Lake, which is surrounded by tea plantations.

Day5: We take an early morning walk through the peaceful tea plantation before having breakfast. After this we’ll visit a tea picker’s village before returning to your accommodation for lunch and departure. We catch the afternoon train to Dhaka.

Situated northeast of Bangladesh, it boasts lush greenery, enormous tea plantations, blue rivers, forests, and historical buildings. Sylhet is home to many species of wildlife, swamp forest, marsh wetland, a stone quarry, and many spiritual Shrines. Additionally, between the Khasi and the Jaintia hills, you’ll find the homes of the Manipuri Tribe, whose maidens are famous for their dance. There are many aboriginal tribes including the Monipuris, the Tipperas, Khasis, and Garos who still live their primal ways in the hills. For those who are adventurous travelers and nature lovers, the Sylhet tour is a great tour!

We will pick you up from your Hotel at 06:30 AM and board the train from the Airport Railway Station. The journey to Sylhet departs at 07:03 AM. We arrive in Sylhet around 01:30 PM and will transfer you to the hotel. After check-in, freshen up and have your lunch at dine-in or in a local restaurant Following lunch, get ready to explore Sylhet city. Major tourist attractions include the Shrine of Shah Jalal and Shah Paran, Ali Amjad’s Clock Tower (Big Ben of Sylhet), and the Keane Bridge. Following lunch, get ready to explore Sylhet city. After breakfast, we will drive to Jaflong. Following a two-hour drive, you will reach the city, a beautiful spot by the river Mari. Close to the Indian Border, we will stroll amongst the locals and marvel at the stone collectors. Later we will take a country boat to enjoy the scenic views of the river, hills and explore Sangrampunji Waterfall. After lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll visit a tribal village to learn about their lifestyle. We will drive back to Sylhet in the evening Overnight at Sylhet (Hotel Grand Sylhet)

Beginning at 8:30 AM, we will travel 27 km. to the Ratargul Swamp Forest. It is one of the few freshwater swamp forests in the world and it is known as the Amazon of Bengal. We’ll board a country boat and cruise inside the Swamp Forest to enjoy the natural beauty and spectacular environment. This will certainly be the highlight of the day. Here you will see different types of plant and animal diversity. Next, we drive to Khadimnagar National Park – about 90 minutes. This important eco-tourism destination has various animal species and a wide variety of bamboo, wild orchids, and Segun (teak) as well as the Borjan Tea Garden. Drive back to Sylhet in the evening Overnight at Sylhet (Hotel Grand Sylhet)

Following breakfast, we drive to Shari Ghat. We again board a country boat to enjoy this masterpiece of nature. Lalakhal is considered one of the most prominent places for scenic views. The area is stunningly beautiful and the sound is mesmerizing. Floating on crystal clear waters, you’ll enjoy the small hills and gardens of the coconut tree. You will fall in love with this location! We will drive back to Sylhet to check out of the hotel. After having lunch, we drive to the airport to catch a flight for Dhaka around noon. Arrive in Dhaka near three o’clock, will transfer you to your hotel and end the Sylhet Scenic Tour.

Sylhet tourist spots reopen as floodwaters recede

• Surma, Kushiyara rivers remain above danger levels at various points

The administration of Sylhet district has reopened several tourist spots, such as Jaflong, Ratargul Swamp Forest, and Tanguar Haor, to visitors on Sunday following improvements in the flood situation.

Tourists, tour operators, and boatmen have been instructed to adhere to administrative directives to ensure safety and order.

The decision to reopen these tourist spots was made by the Upazila Tourism Committee, contingent on favourable weather conditions in the district.

A team led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Saidul Islam from the Gowainghat upazila administration inspected the Jaflong tourist spot on Friday and Saturday to assess readiness for reopening.

To ensure passenger safety, boat owners and operators in Gowainghat have been directed by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Touhidul Islam to provide adequate life jackets for all passengers travelling by boat and other vessels.

Despite ongoing concerns with river levels, Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) data indicates that the Surma and Kushiyara rivers remain above danger levels at various points. However, no rainfall was recorded in Sylhet on Sunday, according to the latest BWDB bulletin.

Tourist police have been deployed to all reopened tourist spots to enforce security and safety measures, demonstrating the administration's commitment to providing a secure environment for visitors.

Additionally, as a safety precaution, children under the age of 12 are prohibited from travelling by boat in Jaflong. Tourist police have been specifically tasked with ensuring the security of all visitors.

Initially closed on Tuesday due to deteriorating flood conditions, all tourist spots in Sylhet were reopened following the recent improvement, under the direction of Sylhet Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mobarak Hossain.

Previously, on May 30, the Upazila Tourist Development Committee, led by its convener, decided to close all tourist spots during the first phase of flooding. These locations were subsequently reopened on June 7.
