Slaughter the Martour World Tour

In an electrifying announcement that will send shockwaves through the world of metal, two seminal bands, Bay Area icons  MACHINE HEAD  and Industrial masters  FEAR FACTORY, have joined forces to bring their bone-crushing sound and unforgettable performances to Australia and New Zealand in 2024.

Machine Head will invade Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2018. Whilst this will be Fear Factory’s first time since 2016 and will feature the debut of new vocalist Milo Silvestro.

These two giants of the metal scene have a combined history that spans decades and have consistently delivered some of the most influential and groundbreaking music in the genre. Machine Head, known for their blistering riffs and anthems that have ignited mosh pits worldwide, will be teaming up with Fear Factory, masters of industrial cyber metal, to create a tour experience like no other.

Fans can expect a sonic assault as both bands promise to unleash tracks from their extensive catalogues that will undoubtedly leave audiences in awe. Are you ready to launch into next year with two groove and riff-based metal legends? Prepare to headbang as Machine Head have just announced a March 2024 Australian tour with special guests Fear Factory .

Fear Factory, touring Australia for the first time in eight years, and Machine Head for the first time in five, have aligned one of the most anticipated touring line-ups Aussie metalheads could ask for. Machine Head are touring in support of their latest album, last year’s ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN , while Fear Factory are bringing their riff-laden brilliance to stages across the country.

The tour begins on Saturday, 9 March, at Perth’s Astor Theatre before heading to the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane (12 March), Melbourne’s Forum Theatre (14 March), and ends at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre (16 March). The pair then perform a one-off date at Auckland’s Powerstation.

The SLAUGHTER THE MARTØUR WØRLD TØUR pre-sale begins on Monday, 23 October, at 9 am local time. General tickets go on sale on Wednesday, 25 October, also at 9 am local time. Tickets will be available via the Metropolis Touring website .

Fear Factory's Dino Cazares added, “We are honoured to be touring with the mighty MACHINE HEAD metal, plus Robb has been a good friend of mine for close to 30 years. We are fucking excited for the metal fans to see this amazing package, and we can’t wait to get out there. Let’s Fucking Rage!”

Australian and New Zealand fans could also witness new Fear Factory music on this tour, with Cazares teasing in a Kill Your Stereo interview last year, “We've been doing pre-production for a new record; I've been demoing all our new songs.”

Machine Head Announce 2024 Australian Tour with Guests Fear Factory

Machine Head have announced a run of Australian tour dates in 2024, teaming up with industrial heavyweights Fear Factory . The two bands will hit the road in March, kicking things off in Perth on Saturday, 9th March, before playing dates in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

It marks the first Australian tour for Machine Head since 2018. They’d previously locked in a 2020 tour , but it was postponed and rescheduled a number of times due to the COVID pandemic before ultimately being scrapped. Fear Factory were last in Australia in 2016.

Machine Head: ‘Nø Gods, Nø Masters’

Both bands will be coming armed with new albums and new band members. Machine Head released their new album ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN in August last year, a concept record that told the story of a futuristic wasteland.

Waclaw “Vogg” Kieltyka (from Decapitated) and drummer, Matt Alston (from Devilment) joined Machine Head following  the departure of Phil Demmel and Dave McClain  in 2018.

This will be Fear Factory’s first Australian tour with their new vocalist Milo Silvestro in tow . Milo replaced Burton C Bell after he left the band in 2020.

TWO of California’s greatest metal exports are returning to Australia in 2024 for the first time on the same bill.

Bay Area legends Machine Head and LA innovators Fear Factory are bringing the Slaughter the Martøur World Tour Down Under in March for four huge shows. Pre-sales go ahead on Monday October 23 from 9am local, with general tix on sale from October 25 .

Brian Giffin is a metalhead, author, writer and broadcaster from the Blue Mountains in Australia. His life was changed forever after seeing a TV ad for 'The Number of the Beast' in 1982. During the 90s he wrote columns and reviews for Sydney publications On the Street, Rebel Razor, Loudmouth and Utopia Records' magazine. He was the creator and editor of the zine LOUD! which ran from 1996 until 2008, and of Loud Online that lasted from 2010 until 2023 when it unexpectedly spontaneously combusted into virtual ashes. His weekly community radio show The Annex has been going since 2003 on rbm.org.au. He enjoys heavy rock and most kinds of metal (except maybe symphonic power metal), whisk(e)y and beer.

FEAR FACTORY: Australian Tour Dates Announced

The new version of FEAR FACTORY — featuring the band's original members Dino Cazares (guitar) and Burton C. Bell (vocals) alongside bassist Byron Stroud (who played on the last two FEAR FACTORY albums in addition to touring and recording with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and ZIMMERS HOLE ) and legendary drummer Gene Hoglan ( DETHKLOK , STRAPPING YOUNG LAD , DARK ANGEL , DEATH , TESTAMENT ) — will embark on a tour of Australia in August. Confirmed dates are as follows:

Aug. 18 - Capitol - Perth, Australia Aug. 20 - Tivoli - Brisbane, Australia Aug. 22 - Enmore - Sydney, Australia Aug. 23 - Palace - Melbourne, Australia Aug. 24 - HQ - Adelaide, Australia

Tickets go on sale on June 18.

Dino 's tenure with FEAR FACTORY ended in March 2002 after Bell announced his departure from the group, allegedly telling his bandmates at the time, "Look, guys, I'm not into it anymore, I don't wanna play in the band anymore, I don't wanna play with you guys, and I especially don't wanna play with you, Dino ."

FEAR FACTORY eventually reformed without Dino and released two more studio albums, 2004's "Archetype" and 2005's "Transgression" .

In a September 2007 interview with MTV.com , Cazares — who currently heads up a new band called DIVINE HERESY — stated about his former group, "In the long run, I believe I came out the winner, and I feel that they have bastardized the name, and it's a completely different band, different style. I definitely carried the passion in that band, and my riffs, my style, they were very distinctive. I don't regret anything I created in FEAR FACTORY whatsoever. It will be part of my memory for the rest of my life. I believe I am continuing the legacy and keeping this metal torch alive and bringing it back with DIVINE HERESY . You can feel the hunger and passion in DIVINE HERESY , which I believe FEAR FACTORY has been missing, and is still missing to this day."

ARKAEA — the new band featuring FEAR FACTORY members Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar) and Raymond Herrera (drums) alongside vocalist Jon Howard ( THREAT SIGNAL ) and bassist Pat Kavanaugh ( THREAT SIGNAL ) — will release its debut album, "Years In The Darkness" , on July 13 via E1 Music (formerly Koch Records ).

With nine critically acclaimed albums under their belts, the Australian performances are set to bring to life the entire history and glory of Fear Factory. From their 1992 Soul Of A New Machine  to their latest, Genexus (2015), the guys have continuously stepped it up in the studio and of course, on the stage.
