What is New on the Disney Treasure?

Disney Treasure Jungle Cruise

There are two brand new dining experiences coming to the Disney Treasure: a Coco-themed theatrical experience and a Zootopia sweetshop. Read our full coverage of this brand-new Coco-themed theatrical dining experience.

The Disney Treasure will also include Disney Parks-inspired lounges and a suite for the first time featuring Jungle Cruise, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and the Haunted Mansion! EPCOT will be featured in one of the high end suites. Read more about these Disney Parks themes coming to the Disney Treasure in our guide.

We also know that the Disney Treasure will include a brand-new stage production featuring Moana. Read everything we know about this new Broadway-caliber show.

Disney Treasure

The popular attraction featured on the Disney Wish, AquaMouse, will include a brand new storyline that follows Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on an adventure into an ancient temple. Guests will tour this mysterious ruin looking for a glimpse of treasure within as they, along with Mickey and Minnie, encounter mishaps and boobie traps along the way. AquareMouse was the first ever attraction to be featured on the Disney Cruise Line and we are excited to see it included on the Disney Treasure.

What is the Theme of the Disney Treasure?

Disney Treasure

The inspiration behind the theming of the Disney Treasure focuses on incorporating stories from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, and Disney Parks adventures. The Disney Treasure will invite guests to step into careful plazas in Mexico, navigate the winding rivers of the world, dive below the ocean’s surface, and more.

Based on the description from Disney and the concept art, I feel that the theme of this Disney Cruise Line ship is inspired by adventure and incorporates designed elements from around the world. Disney shared that they have plenty of inspiration points to draw from.

What Do The Staterooms Look Like?

Disney treasure staterooms

Bagheera Royal Suites

The staterooms aboard the Disney Treasure will feature artwork and design elements of films including “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” “Up” and “Encanto” to convey the inspiration of classic Disney tales of adventure.

The concierge and royal suites will focus on character journeys along with “feline sidekicks” from “The Lion King,” “The Jungle Book” and “Aladdin.”

Disney Cruise Stateroom

Disney Treasure’s concierge level suites feature interiors inspired by the grasslands Simba calls home in “The Lion King.”

Hands down the most exciting of all these new suite designs is the one modeled after EPCOT's Spaceship Earth, more on this below!

Disney Treasure Great Hall

Disney Treasure Guide

The Grand Hall is the main gathering space with its own dedicated entertainment, moments, and surprises. This is often where guests can mingle with characters and serves as the central space of the ship.

The statues and décor will focus on the ship's theme of adventure and will call on inspiration from the gilded palace and wonder of Agrabah from the film “Aladdin”

Disney Treasure Dining

The new dining experiences coming to the Disney Treasure include a Coco dining experience and a Zootopia ice cream shop. These new family-style dining experiences will join Worlds of Marvel and 1923 which are both existing and popular experiences featured on the Disney Treasure's sister ship Disney Wish.

The two walk-up cafes on the Disney Treasure will also receive new theming focusing on Disney Princesses. Familiar favorites will also join the Disney Treasure dining line up like adult-focused dining experiences and counter service options.

Plaza de Coco

Plaza de Coco will be the first theatrical dining experience themed to the popular film Coco. The Coco-themed dining experience will feature dining tables surrounding a central stage where performances and show effects spread throughout the room.

There will be two different nights of dining experiences at Plaza de Coco guests can experience. On the first night, the story of Miguel and his familia will continue from where the movie ends. Miguel and his familia will take guests on a music-filled journey that celebrates family memories and togetherness. On the second night, Miguel will be reunited with his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, and transport them to Santa Cecilia with his magic guitar for a Día de los Muertos celebration.

Both evenings will include a dinner menu of twists on traditional Mexican food along with live entertainment.

Worlds of Marvel

This Marvel experience has been a rave from all the guests that have experienced it so far! Guests can join Ant-Man and the Wasp during “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” and use their own interactive Quantum Core at the table to shrink and grow objects at the push of a button.

The dining experience features a diverse menu from all-American to rich African flavors.

Named after the year The Walt Disney Studios was founded, this sophisticated dining establishment celebrates the Walt Disney Studio in a 1920s-themed dining experience. The dining experience features theming around storyboards, sketches, and props that celebrate the early animation.

Jumbeaux’s Sweets

Disney Cruise Zootopia

The Zootopia-themed sweet shop, Jumbeaux's Sweets, is modeled after the ice cream store featured in the Zootopia film. The interior of this shop will feature pink coloring, Victorian-style architecture, and a sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. This new sweet shop will include more than 20 flavors of handmade gelato, 16 flavors of ice cream and sorbets, specialty treats, candies, and more.

Luxury Adult Dining

The Rose Disney Cruise

The Disney Treasure will also include three luxury dining experiences we've also seen on Disney Wish. The Rose, Palo Steakhouse, and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallament will be the adult-focused dining experiences.

New Themes for Walk-Up Dining

One of the two casual walk-up cafes, Heihei Café, will draw inspiration from Moana with furniture stylings that pay homage to construction techniques used by the Polynesian people to craft seafaring vessels. Jade Cricket Café is inspired by Mulan and honors the Fa Family's “lucky” cricket with a jade sculpture and blue theming inspired by Mulan's armor.

Disney Parks Attraction Inspired Areas

Disney Treasure Parks

There will be three areas inspired by Disney Parks attractions on the Disney Treasure plus we also received a teaser for a potential fourth area focusing on the Haunted Mansion.

Skipper Society

Jungle Cruise Disney Cruise Line

Skipper Society Lounge is the Jungle Cruise-themed lounge created in the vision of higher-end skippers relaxing at the end of their day. This venue features natural colorways along with camp-style furnishings all paying tribute to the famous Jungle Crusie skippers.

This lounge will include references to the Jungle Cruise all through the space including a whimsical monkey-shaped chandelier to postcards and luggage tags.

Periscope Pub

Disney Treasure Parks Themes

Periscope Pub will become the Disney Cruise Line's first venue inspired by Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This film was also a celebrated Disney Parks attraction that was open at Walt Disney World from 1971 to 1994.

The design of this lounge will feature submarine-style interiors along with 19th-century steampunk influences with metal and industrial touches. The lounge also features a window along the ceiling which will make guests feel like Captain Nemo on the Nautilus. This new lounge will immerse guests inside the nautilus and they might just see the squid go past the mysterious window! The menu will focus on craft brews and light snacks which is fitting with the atmosphere of the lounge.

Tomorrow Tower Suite

Disney Treasure EPCOT Suite

Spaceship Earth, sometimes referred to as the EPCOT golfball by casual Disney fans, will receive its own suite inspired by its energetic design. Tomorrow Tower Suite will evoke the atmosphere of EPCOT's World Discovery neighborhood with art pieces, metal accents and futuristic colorful glass.

This suite is set high up in the ship's forward funnel and will overlook the top deck of the Disney Treasure through a large two-story window. This suite will be massive with nearly 2,000 square feet of space and comfortably sleep eight guests. This suite also includes perks like a full kitchen and a private ensuite elevator.

Haunted Mansion Parlor

haunted mansion bar coming to disney

Disney Treasure will also feature a Haunted Mansion lounge called the Haunted Mansion Parlor. The bar will feature craft cocktails, exclusive merchandise, and Haunted Mansion-themed decor to bring to life the story of a “jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé.”

Disney Treasure Stage Shows

There will be a brand new stage production coming to the Walt Disney Theatre onboard the Disney Treasure. This is exciting news as these Broadway-caliber shows are some of the biggest highlights of a Disney Cruise.

This new stage production will join existing favorites featured on other Disney Cruise ships, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.”

Walt Disney Theatre

The three live stage shows will be held in the Walt Disney Theatre. The theatre is described as a show “palace” and the image above shows the same royal touches we've seen in other elements of the concept art for the Disney Treasure.

The live entertainment on Disney Cruise Lines is a must-see as these are Broadway-caliber performances unique to these cruises.

New Stage Show Coming to Disney Treasure

Disney has announced that there will also be a brand new third show created just for the Disney Treasure. This new show will focus on Moana and is titled “Disney The Tale of Moana.” This new show will be exclusive to the Disney Treasure and follow the story of Moana as she goes on the journey to save her island and restore the heart of Te Fiti. Characters like Gramma Tala, Maui, and Tamatoa will also be featured in the show plus popular songs from the film's soundtrack.

This new Moana show sounds incredible as it features new larger-than-life puppets by the puppet designers who worked on Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical “The Lion King” on Broadway. The largest puppe featured will be Te Kā which is on a scale Disney Cruise Line has never before produced. This same giant Te Kā puppet will transform into the gentle island goddess of Te Fiti once Moana restores her heart.

Moana and Maui will perform “Warrior Face” along with other classic favorites from the soundtrack like “You’re Welcome,” “We Know The Way” and “How Far I’ll Go.” The music of the show also includes a mix of languages including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan, and Samoan plus the set design is inspired by the cultures of the Pacific Islands which is especially apparent when they are on the island of Motunui.

The show sounds breathtaking, especially the song “How Far I'll Go,” with the stage demonstrating Moana's Journey with stars overhead, and a glowing manta ray to symbolize the spirit of Gramma Tala.

Beauty and the Beast Stage Show

Beauty and Beast Stage Show

The Beauty and the Beast stage show, already featured aboard the Disney Dream, will also be playing onboard the new Disney Treasure. This popular show holds true to the original as it focuses on the story of Belle and the Beast including favorite songs along with the two songs written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice for the reimagined film. The live stage show includes puppetry, modern theatrical design, and impressive story-telling techniques.

Seas the Adventure Show

Disney Seas the Adventure

Seas the Adventure is a show also shown on Disney Wish that showcases an adventure with Goofy as he encounters popular Disney characters and fan favorites. Some of the best moments of this show include Princess Tiana performing her song “Almost There” and Crush and Squirt from Finding Nemo showing Goofy how to “Go with the Flow” in a rendition of the song from the musical live adaptation from Animal Kingdom. There show also includes an original arrangement of Disney heroines that is exclusive to the show as Elsa, Moana, and Merida perform a powerful medley of “Into the Unknown,” “How Far I’ll Go” and “Touch the Sky.”

More Disney Treasure Recreation

Aside from all the amazing live stage performances, interactive dining experiences, and Disney Parks-inspired lounges, there is still a full list of Disney Cruise Line recreation for adults and kids to enjoy on the Disney Treasure.

AquaMouse- Disney Cruise Attraction

The AquaMouse was the first ever attraction to be featured on a Disney Cruise Line ship and first made its appearance on the Disney Wish. The Disney Treasure will also have its own AquaMouse ride with a brand new storyline as guests follow Mickey and Minnie Mouse through a mysterious ruin as they search for treasure.

Deck Pools and Splash Areas

disney treasure cruise ship release date

There are seven pools staggered amongst the decks with an abundance of lounge chairs.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Sarabi will be the central space for daytime activities and adult- exclusive evening entertainment inspired by the natural beauty and openness of a savanna. It is named after Simba's mother, Sarabi, from the popular “The Lion King” film.

Deck Parties

Disney Treasure Deck Parties

The Disney Treasure will also include the traditional Disney Cruise Line nighttime deck celebration called Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party. This event happens one night of every voyage and guests can don pirate costumes and head to the deck for a pirate theme showing with fireworks.

 Disney Cruise Spa & Salon

Disney Cruise Spa

There will be both a spa and salon onboard the Disney Treasure which are similar to these amenities offered on other Disney Cruise Line ships. The Senses Spa includes private treatment rooms, spa villas, wellness rooms, fitness studio, plus a steam room.

The Untangled Spa is inspired by Rapunzel and offers manicures, pedicures, teeth whitening, and skin treatments. There is also a barbershop themed after Captain Hook called Hook's Barbery.

Cargo Bay Cruise Line

Disney Treasure also includes other popular amenities Disney Cruise Line usually offers on their cruise ships such as a teen area, a nursery, a kids space and an activity zone for families to enjoy.

Disney Cruise Fairytale Hall

Some of these areas include Star Wars: Cargo Bay where guests can search for creatures and characters from Star Wars along with an area to interact with Disney Princesses.

The Disney Treasure is truly an amazing addition to the fleet of Disney Cruise Ships!

Everything we know about Disney Treasure, coming to Disney Cruise Line in 2024

Summer Hull

After a 10-year hiatus in expanding the fleet, Disney Cruise Line has been busy in recent years.

Disney Wish joined the cruise line in the summer of 2022, ushering in an all-new Triton class of three ships that will join the original Disney Magic , Disney Wonder , Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

Up next is Disney Treasure, which will debut in December 2024. From new restaurants and bars to announced itineraries, here's everything we know so far about Disney Treasure.

The theme of the Disney Treasure cruise ship

Disney Treasure will share much of its footprint and layout with Disney Wish. However, it will have a distinct look that appears to be less bright-and-airy "fairy tale" than we saw on Wish and more "mysterious adventure."

Based on renderings, Disney Treasure will feature a Grand Hall that leans into a palette of deep blue, turquoise and gold, with a design inspired by gilded palaces from faraway places such as Asia and Africa — including the fictitious city of Agrabah from Disney's "Aladdin."

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Fittingly, the statue in the Grand Hall will feature Jasmine, Aladdin and Magic Carpet ready to go on an adventure, which is the theme of this next ship.

Captain Minnie will also wear a special adventure-seeking outfit while on board Disney Treasure. She will appear on the ship's bow, and out on the stern, the adventurous duo of Peter Pan and Captain Hook will sail along wherever Disney Treasure may take them.

Disney Treasure cabins

Disney Treasure will have 1,256 cabins and suites ranging from interior cabins to a two-story funnel suite. All of them will continue the theme of adventure told through Disney stories and places. Some of the movies that will be integrated into the interior, ocean-view and verandah cabins are "Aladdin," "Pocahontas," "Finding Nemo," "Up," "Luca" and "Encanto."

The Concierge Suites, specifically, will include nods to "The Lion King," while the four Royal Suites pay homage to the tigers found in "The Jungle Book" and "Aladdin."

The signature suite on the ship will be the two-story Tomorrow Tower Suite. Disney Wish introduced the concept of a nearly 2,000-square-foot, multiroom suite in the ship's faux funnel. While its Tower Suite was themed to "Moana," Disney Treasure's version will be inspired by Epcot and feature a futuristic design. The Tomorrow Tower Suite can sleep up to eight guests.

Disney Treasure restaurants

Each Disney ship has three included restaurants that guests and their dining team rotate through each night in either an early or late dinner seating. On Disney Treasure, one restaurant will be new to the fleet and two will return from Disney Wish, but with a slightly different spin.

Plaza de Coco

The all-new restaurant found only on Disney Treasure will be Plaza de Coco, a Mexican restaurant that is set after the events of the "Coco" movie. Much like in the "Frozen"-themed space that it is replacing from Disney Wish, this is a "dinner in the round" concept with music, dancing and characters from the "Coco" film performing on stage and making their way around the room during dinner.

As with all the restaurants on Treasure, guests will be scheduled to dine here at least twice, so Plaza de Coco will offer two unique shows.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Worlds of Marvel

Like on Disney Wish, Disney Treasure passengers will enjoy the Worlds of Marvel restaurant . Due to Treasure's longer itineraries, a new, second show will be added to the Worlds of Marvel lineup. Disney has not yet shared what that show will entail, other than teasing that Nick Fury, the founder of the Avengers, has the information listed as top-secret.

"Quantum Encounter," the dinner show on Disney Wish, will also be on Disney Treasure, though in a slightly updated way.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Another Disney Wish restaurant that will be repeated on Disney Treasure is 1923, a California-themed restaurant that is named after the year that the Walt Disney Company was founded. 1923 is adorned with props, art and decor from Disney's decades of storytelling, and on Disney Treasure, that memorabilia will lean heavily into Disney's more adventurous films and stories.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Jumbeaux's Sweets

Jumbeaux's Sweets is a new ice cream parlor and candy shop debuting on Treasure. It's inspired by Jumbeaux's Cafe in the movie "Zootopia," and the space will include statues of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Adults-only restaurants

Palo Steakhouse, Enchante and The Rose, a bar located at the entrance to both, will be found on Disney Treasure as they are on Disney Wish. They will be available for guests ages 18 and up for an additional fee, which I'd argue is some of the best money you can spend at sea , given how enjoyable the meals are.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Not just for grownups but also returning from Disney Wish is the ship's fast-casual, upper-deck Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods.

Disney Treasure bars

Skipper society.

Disney Cruise Line is doing something a bit different with its newest ship, and that's theming onboard spaces to park attractions, not just Disney characters and movies. This concept is evident in the new Skipper Society bar on Disney Treasure.

Located where The Bayou is on Wish, Skipper Society is inspired by Disney's Jungle Cruise ride and its wisecracking skippers. Here, guests will find a menu of themed cocktails and light snacks, such as waffles.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Periscope Pub

A second new bar is Periscope Pub, inspired by Jules Verne's "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas" (and Disney's 1954 movie version of the book and theme park attraction). It will replace Wish's Keg & Compass as Disney Treasure's sports bar. The bar is designed to look like the Nautilus submarine from the story, complete with a giant periscope, porthole windows and a ceiling designed to look like you're underwater. Watch out for the giant squid below!

disney treasure cruise ship release date

The Haunted Mansion Parlor

Disney will replace the popular "Star Wars"-themed Hyperspace Lounge , which debuted on Disney Wish, with the Haunted Mansion Parlor on Disney Treasure. This spooky watering hole is inspired by the creepy atmosphere and happy haunts of the Haunted Mansion park attraction.

The bar will be designed to resemble a first-class drawing room on a classic oceanliner that's been taken into the ghostly realm. Guests can indulge in specialty cocktails (including spirit-free versions) with ghostly messages and ghoulish embellishments (gummy eyeballs, anyone?). They can also spot homages to the original park attraction and its cast of ghostly characters, as well as become acquainted with new seafaring haunts.

Passengers enamored with the Haunted Mansion Parlor will find themed souvenirs in the ship's onboard shops, so they can take home a mirror full of hitchhiking ghosts or a clock that strikes the 13th hour to start up some ghoulish revelry.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Disney Treasure activities

Broadway-style shows.

Disney Treasure will debut "Disney The Tale of Moana" as its new Broadway-style musical. The show will mark the first time Disney has brought the story of Moana to the stage. The musical will feature popular songs and favorite characters from the animated movie.

"Beauty and the Beast" and "Disney Seas the Adventure" will be the two returning Broadway-caliber shows running on the ship's main stage, the Walt Disney Theatre.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

AquaMouse, Disney's water ride that debuted on Disney Wish, will also be a signature attraction on Disney Treasure. As on Wish, riders will enjoy an animated adventure with Disney characters before they start twisting and turning around the ship. Treasure will add a third, new show to the rotation of animated shorts, along with the two from Wish.

Called "Curse of the Golden Egg," the animation will follow Mickey and Minnie as they search for lost treasure inside an ancient temple. This new show will eventually be added to the AquaMouse rotation on Disney Wish.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

The "Lion King"-themed Sarabi will be the ship's two-story, multipurpose entertainment zone (replacing Luna from Disney Wish).

disney treasure cruise ship release date

When will Disney Treasure set sail?

Disney has announced that the maiden voyage for Disney Treasure will be Dec. 21, 2024, on a seven-night sailing from Port Canaveral (near Orlando), Florida. It will visit Tortola, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay (Disney's private island), with three sea days to rest up from your adventures ashore.

The ship will sail weeklong Caribbean cruises throughout its maiden season. Most of the ship's Eastern Caribbean itineraries will include the same ports, but a few swap out St. Thomas for San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Disney Treasure will also have seven-night Western Caribbean sailings that include ports of call in Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Castaway Cay with two sea days.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

This is different from the itineraries on Disney Wish, which are three- and four-night sailings to the Bahamas. The longer itineraries will give guests more time to enjoy the ship, so Disney has to create more experiences to keep them entertained.

Bookings on Disney Treasure open to Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members Sept. 12 and to the general public Sept. 20. We expect the early sailings on Treasure to sell out almost immediately.

How much does it cost to sail on Disney Treasure?

disney treasure cruise ship release date

If you want to sail on the maiden voyage of Disney Treasure, for two guests, the price starts at $8,773 for an inside cabin and $11,279 for a balcony cabin. For a family of four, those prices increase to $14,088 and $16,796, respectively.

But don't despair if that's out of range, as there are much less expensive ways to sail on Disney Treasure — though with only weeklong cruises on offer, there are no bargain basement prices to be found. Outside of the maiden voyages, Disney Treasure inside-cabin fares start at $3,845 for double occupancy or $6,271 for a family of four. Verandah cabins start at close to $8,000 for a family, and concierge cabins start around $15,000.

The lowest prices will be found on off-peak sailing dates, outside of popular school vacation times.

Bottom line

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Since 2012, Disney Cruise Line has operated a fleet of four ships, but 2022 marked the start of a period of rapid growth for the line. It welcomed Disney Wish in 2022 and will debut Disney Treasure in late 2024 and the third Triton-class ship in 2025.

Disney also made a surprise purchase of one of the world's largest cruise ships. That vessel will join the fleet and operate out of Singapore beginning in 2025 .

Additionally, the cruise line has added a new highest tier, Pearl, in its Castaway Club elite status program to mark Disney's 25th year of cruise operations, and will add Lighthouse Point as another private Bahamian beach destination in summer 2024.

It's an exciting time to be a Disney Cruise Line fan. Stay tuned for more information about Disney Treasure as additional details are released leading up to the Dec. 21, 2024, maiden voyage.

Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship, sets sail December 2024

The high seas are about to become even more magical as Disney Cruise Line debuts its latest ship, the Disney Treasure.

“The Disney Treasure is part of an unprecedented expansion of Disney Cruise Line,” Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks Experience and Products, said. “We started with the Disney Wish last year, and the Disney Treasure will be the second of four new ships that we’re launching through 2025.”

The ship—which Disney Cruise Line revealed more information about on Tuesday—will set sail December 2024 with all the unique spaces, family entertainment, and world-class dining that Disney Cruise Line is known for. Not to mention, the ship’s theme of adventure will inspire the venues and experiences on board, including all-new stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney Parks tales.

“Our newest ship will immerse guests in brand new experiences that are inspired by beloved Disney theme parks and attractions,” Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, said.

Some of the adventures in store for guests include Plaza de Coco , a colorful entertainment restaurant themed to the Disney and Pixar film Coco that will feature live music and entertainment from the film’s characters and the flavors of Mexico. Worlds of Marvel will be a dining experience that includes everyone’s favorite web-slinger, Spider-Man. Then there’s 1923 , a family restaurant that gives guests a taste of old Hollywood and integrates them in the history of The Walt Disney Company.

There will also be more adult-orientated bars such as the Jungle Cruise -inspired Skipper Society that will offer themed cocktails, light snacks, and décor that evokes the witty Jungle Cruise skippers, as well as the Periscope Pub , which will take guests on an adventure 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (or at least it’ll seem that way). Other adult favorite dining such as The Rose , Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement will offer amazing views and gourmet meals.

Then there’s the beloved entertainment on the Disney Treasure.

The Walt Disney Theatre will hold three Broadway-style stage productions including Disney Cruise Line favorites Beauty and the Beast and Seas the Adventure – and an all-new third show that will be announced soon. On the upper decks, Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party will have music, fireworks, and some of the most partying pirates on the seven seas.

In terms of thrills, there’s AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg . Disney Cruise Line’s own attraction at sea will plunge guests into the world of Mickey Mouse and his animated shorts, so not only will there be a fun storyline to follow, but also 760 feet of winding tubes that will offer breathtaking views of the ocean and the Disney Treasure itself.

Disney's Newest Cruise Ship Will Set Sail in 2024 — What to Know

At D23 Expo, Disney teased its next cruise ship — and its new private destination in the Bahamas.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Courtesy of Disney Cruise Line

Disney announced at its D23 Expo over the weekend that its newest cruise ship will be ready to take to the high seas in 2024.

The vessel will be the sixth overall in the Disney fleet and the second of three "Triton Class" ships. Inspired by Walt Disney's love for exploration, its interiors will draw from architecture and design motifs from around the world. The Grand Hall, for instance, has a blue-and-gold scheme that recalls gilded architectural styles from across Asia and Northern Africa — it riffs on the fictional city of Agrabah from Disney's Aladdin.

"At the heart of every adventure, there’s a treasure, and we can’t wait for you to create memories aboard this spectacular ship," Disney parks, experiences, and products chairman Josh D’Amaro said at the D23 Expo where a host of announcements were made.

The ship wasn't the only announcement for Disney Cruise Lines . The company also shared renderings of its second Bahamian destination for its ships: Lighthouse Point on the island of Eleuthera, which was first announced in 2019 . Like Disney's private island Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will be a private beach retreat for Disney Cruise Line passengers, offering colorful amenities like a cultural pavilion, a water playground, and dining and shopping.

Disney also announced its first sailings departing from Australia and New Zealand. From October 2023 through February 2024, Disney Wonder will sail out of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane in Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand, on a series of two- to six-night "Disney Magic at Sea" itineraries. These will be "cruises to nowhere" where the ship is the destination — it won't make port, but onboard programming will immerse guests in some of their favorite Disney universes, from Marvel to Star Wars.

Disney Wonder will also sail itineraries in the South Pacific — Disney Cruise Lines' first trips to the destination — during its transpacific crossings. Bookings open on October 6, 2022, and can be made here .

Revealed: The New Disney Treasure Ship: Inside and Details

by Evelyn Long | Sep 13, 2022 | Disney Cruise Line , Disney Cruise Line News , Disney Treasure , WDW Blog

The new Disney Treasure ship was announced at D23. Here’s everything we know so far…

Ahoy, adventurers! Ye who yearns for unbound escapades and thrilling quests will soon be tempted by the siren song of the Disney Treasure. Pack your bags and make sure to grab your talismans, treasure maps, magic carpets, and spellbooks— it’s gonna be a wild ride!

New Disney Cruise Ship Name Announced

This past weekend marked the seventh biennial D23 Expo , the ultimate fan convention that welcomes Disney buffs from all corners of the world to gather as the creative and executive minds behind the Walt Disney Company unveiled a cornucopia of projects in development. At the 2017 D23 expo, Disney announced that their cruise line would be expanding with three all-new cruise ships.

The first of these ships was dubbed the “Disney Wish”, which set sail on its maiden voyage in July 2022. The Wish, along with the two following ships that will set sail in coming years, is part of what Disney Cruise Line is calling their “Triton class” of ships , which will boast modern amenities and a larger capacity for guests.

Photo via Disney Cruise Line

Once the Wish was out to sea, fans were hungry for details about the second ship to be added to the Triton class DCL roster. On Sunday, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro finally revealed details about the newest addition— appropriately named the “Disney Treasure” !

Just like the Wish, the Treasure will have the capacity to host around 4,000 guests within 1,254 staterooms. These lucky voyagers will be free to explore fifteen sprawling decks fitted with the luxurious Disney Cruise Line amenities that travelers have enjoyed since the Disney Magic first set sail over 20 years ago.

Disney Treasure Atrium and Theme

So what makes the Treasure such a gem? Well for one, the ship will take voyagers on a cruise like never before .

Whereas the previous DCL ships have focused on whimsical & enchanting themes (magic, wonder, dreams, fantasy, and wishes) this cruise puts travelers at the helm of their very own adventure. While hijinx on the high seas is a DCL guarantee, the Disney Treasure homes in on the alluring call of a wild quest.

Have you ever gazed out at the open ocean and wondered what awaits you on distant shores? Maybe you’ve stood at the foot of a mountain, staring up at the peak—ready for the unpredictable journey that exists on the way to the top. Or perhaps you’ve heard the unmistakable call of a mysterious quest that only you can fulfill…

The Disney Treasure is a love letter to adventure’s call— the same calling that beloved characters like Rapunzel, Mulan, Hercules, Ariel, and Simba have answered in the tales that Disney fans hold close to their hearts. “At the heart of every adventure, there’s a treasure, and we can’t wait for you to create memories aboard this spectacular ship,” D’Amaro said of the inspiration behind the Disney Treasure at D23.

In the teaser video released at D23, the Treasure sails past as the courageous characters Miguel Rivera, Moana, and… the Hitch-Hiking Ghosts (?) wave from portholes.

All Disney Cruise Line ships have a signature atrium that embodies the spirit of the cruise and their Triton class is no exception to this grandeur. The atrium of the Treasure is noticeably richer in color and opulence than its predecessors. Deep sapphire blues, emerald greens, and shiny golds are reminiscent of priceless jewels that can be found in the Cave of Wonders or buried treasure chests.

The centerpiece of all DCL atriums is, of course, the iconic light sculpture. Previous classes of Disney Cruise Line ships have included stunning chandeliers that seem to drip from the ceiling, doused in bursts of color that captivate guests. The Triton class ships seem to have taken a more thematically detailed approach.

The Disney Wish features a stunning cluster of shining stars as its chandelier, with one star hanging below them all—reminiscent of the star that so many Disney characters have wished upon.

Concept art of the Disney Treasure shows a lantern-like light sculpture  glowing in the center of the extravagant room, an example of the Asian and African artistic influences that D’Amaro cited as partial inspiration for the ship.

Aladdin and Jasmine in the Treasure Atrium

The golden atrium statue on the Disney Treasure invites guests to explore a whole new world ! Few Disney characters represent the spirit of adventure as well as Aladdin and Jasmine—which makes them (along with the Magic Carpet) the perfect greeting committee for those boarding the ship.

As guests enter the Disney Treasure ship , they will be reminded of Aladdin’s odyssey as they stand before a beautiful gilded statue of Agrabah’s royalty riding on the back of their trusty steed!

When Will the Disney Treasure Set Sail?

With all these details released, fans are feeling that alluring call more than ever. However, the Disney Treasure is still a work in progress.

We’re just as excited as you are for the voyage to begin, but it will be a little while longer before adventurers will find themselves aboard. The Disney Treasure is scheduled to set sail sometime in 2024. We’ll have our eyes glued on the DCL Treasure page for booking information!

Soon after, the third unnamed DCL Triton class ship is set to debut. Disney has maintained over D23 weekend that all three Triton class ships will be on the water by 2025. Until then, we’ve got some mountains to climb and mysterious quests to complete!

Disney Treasure Itineraries

Disney treasure review, review of disney treasure.

The 2024-built DCL Disney Treasure cruise ship is The Walt Disney Company's second in a series of all three newbuilds (currently under construction ). The Disney ship Treasure was originally scheduled for launch and inauguration in 2022. However, due to COVID-related issues (shipyard closures, supply chain disruptions, financial losses), the boat's introduction was postponed for 2024-Q3.

MS Disney Treasure is DCL fleet 's 6th vessel. The other two units from this series (TRITON-class sisterships) had their launches and deliveries also postponed - from 2021 to 2022 ( Disney Wish ) and from 2023 to 2025 ( Disney Destiny ).

The TRITON-class is very similar (as size/volume and capacity) to the sisterships Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy .

DCL's new boats are originally planned for year-round deployment in the Caribbean and Florida-homeported - in PortMiami (Destiny) and Port Canaveral (Wish, Treasure).

Like all DCL ships, the Disney Treasure vessel (IMO 9834753) will be Bahamas- flagged (MMSI tba) and registered in Nassau .

MS Disney Treasure is Aladin-themed - after the main character in Disney's "Aladdin" animation by Walt Disney Studios. The musical fantasy comedy film was produced by WDAS-Walt Disney Animation Studios and released in 1992 by Walt Disney Pictures/Disney Live Action.

History - construction and ownership

DCL-Disney Cruise Line is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company (shipowner). The company was incorporated in 1996 as "Magical Cruise Company Ltd". Walt Disney also owns the Bahamian private island Castaway Cay (exclusive port of call - for Disney ships only), an exclusive Cruise Terminal at Port Canaveral (Orlando) Florida USA  and the exclusive Lighthouse Point (privately-developed cruise resort complex on Eleuthera Island, Bahamas). Disney cruises are marketed as "family vacations" and feature unique and exclusive activities, such as costumed Disney Characters, adults-only deck areas, dedicated facilities for teens, kids and infants-toddlers, signature (trademarked) shipboard facilities and activities, themed live entertainment.

MS Disney Treasure cruise ship

In early-March 2016, Walt Disney announced plans to build three new liners (the company's largest) and in July 2017 signed a 3-unit shipbuilding agreement with Meyer Werft Gmbh (Germany). Triton-Class vessel's interior design, facilities and cruise itineraries are still a well-protected secret. What is known so far is that they will be LNG-powered (by liquefied natural gas), gross tonnage 144,000 GT tons (larger than the originally announced 135,000 GT) and passenger capacity 2500 (1250 staterooms). This design is only slightly larger than the previous Disney Dream-Class.

The 3500-passenger ship Disney Treasure primarily targets the "family with kids cruising" market and specifically the families with children younger than 8, which is The Walt Disney Corporation's major revenue provider.

The TRITON-class Disney Treasure features some of the most innovative technologies and "best fun" ideas at sea, including:

  • pieces of "Enchanted Art" adorning the walls of hallways - paintings and pictures that are actually framed LCD screens with a technology to recognize guests present and proceeding with one of several animations;
  • wave phones in every stateroom (used to call or text other guests) and effectively replacing the old onboard beeper system (now the counselors' messages come directly to the parents' phones);
  • the Magical Portholes on the walls of all Inside cabins (LED screens showing real-time outside views).

The company's clientele consists almost entirely of North American travelers (USA and Canada). Disney's new approach to teens and young couples features age-related activities and limited access to shipboard venues, adding a really strong appeal for multi-generational cruisers.

Onboard dress code is similar to Disney's luxury resorts - daily casual and evening resort casual - men with jackets (no ties) and pants, women - with summer dresses (optional gowns). All Disney Triton-Class ship cruise itineraries include one "pirate night" and one semi-formal night. On 3-day cruises, one night is casual, 4-days are with 2 casual evenings, on 5-days and longer - 3 nights are casual.

DCL's shipboard gratuities are now USD 14.50 per person per day (US$15.50 per Suite guest daily). Tips are generally given to waiting staff (including assistant waiters) and cabin attendants/stewards. Additionally, a 15% gratuity on all beverages is automatically charged to the passenger's shipboard account.

Decks and Cabins

MS Disney Treasure staterooms (1256 total, in 26 grades) are mainly midship-located Balconies.

All cabins and suites are well-planned and equipped with the travel industry's latest amenities.

Of all passenger accommodations, ~90% (1133) are outside and in two types - verandah (948, or ~70%), and oceanview (185, or ~20%). Inside cabins are 123 (~10%). The top-tier accommodations are in the categories Concierge Suites (12x), Royal Suites (4x) and the Tomorrow Tower Suite (1x).

A total of 451 staterooms are specifically designed for families, having interconnecting doors.

Like on all Disney ships, passenger staterooms (by size) are ranked among the industry's largest standard cabins, designed to easily accommodate four people. Cabins are with ample storage space, lounge/living area and split bathrooms (1 room with shower-bathtub-sink-WC, and separate toilet-sink). Beds on are raised to allow underbed storage for 2 medium-sized suitcases. Each cabin has as standard amenities 2 mirrored vanities with chairs, 22-inch smart HDTV (satellite reception, infotainment system), iPod docking station, 2 rechargeable "Wave Phones" (for shipwide use).

The boat has 15 passenger-accessible decks , of which 10 are with cabins. There are a total of 35x wheelchair-accessible cabins for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility.

DCL's innovative Inside Cabin features (industry's first) "Magical Portholes" - large, round-shaped LCD screens (positioned above the beds) projecting real-time outside views provided by the ship's cameras. Veranda Cabin's balcony is fitted with 2 deckchairs and a low table.

Concierge Suites and Concierge Family Cabins offer direct access to the ship's concierge-served facilities (a small lounge, private sundeck area with chairs, free food and drinks). Most 1-Bedroom Suites are with connecting doors, Queen bed (convertible to twins), sitting/lounge area with double sofabed, 1 pull-down bed (in the living room), walk-in closet, 2 bathrooms (one with a whirlpool hot tub).

One of the largest accommodations are the Royal Suites, featuring a separate living room, wet bar, kitchenette (small cooking/dining area), media library, outdoor/balcony Jacuzzi.

The "Tomorrow Tower Suite" is DCL's (and the industry's) second-of-its-kind loft suite (following the Wish Tower Suite on MS Disney Wish) integrated in the forward funnel/smokestack.

The unique passenger accommodation is sized 1965 ft2 (183 m2), with max capacity 8 passengers, and interior design themed on Walt Disney World Resort's EPCOT Theme Park. The Tomorrow Tower Suite features 2x master bedrooms, 4x full bathrooms, half-bath (powder room), library (converting to a bedroom), kids' room (with built-in bunkbeds). The living room (on the lower level) is flanked by an open dining area, a pantry, and a bar, all offering unique views across the ship's upper decks through a 2-story window wall.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

Disney's ship Treasure is "adventure-themed" and has 3x themed MDRs (main restaurants) called "Animator's Palate", "Enchanted Garden", and "Royal Palace". There are 2x adults-only specialty restaurants - "Remy" (named after the "Ratatouille" movie star, French cuisine) and "Palo" (Italian cuisine) as alternative dining options.

DCL's Rotational Dining system allows you to rotate to each of the three main restaurants each night while your servers follow you. The Animator's Palate has screens showing animated Disney characters and themes from "Finding Nemo" movie. The Enchanted Garden is a Versailles-inspired room, featuring lighting effects, transforming the day into night. The Royal Palace is princesses-themed with numerous portraits of "Cinderella" and the "Sleeping Beauty" movie characters (even the bread baskets are shaped like Cinderella's coach).

The food quality is very good, the service staff is amicable and timely.

The Remy restaurant is a classy place to be on any special occasion, offering a marvelous French menu and charging serious prices - a service fee of $75 PP (reservations are required, along with the formal dress code), drinks and wine are additional. The Palo restaurant is an Italian (Mediterranean) eatery with $20 cover PP (serves dinner and on selected days - Champagne brunch). Superb fish and seafood entrees, a cold buffet (meats, cheese, shrimp, salads and desserts) and several hot made-to-order items. The "Cabanas" casual dining complex on Deck 11 has several food and drink stations for hot and cold buffet items (including made-to-order omelets and sandwiches). The "Flo's Cafe" offers burgers, chicken fingers, wraps, pizza, salads.

In mid-September 2022, DCL revealed that the statue of the Disney character Aladdin (together with Jasmine on the Magic Carpet) will be centrally positioned in the Atrium's Lobby (base level/at the staircase's bottom) along with the stage for live performances. The midship-located Grand Hall Atrium is a 3-deck high entertainment area (Gilded Palace-themed/Arabian desert kingdom Agrabah) with an open-floor design and a grand sweeping staircase. At the stern (aft hull section) is painted the Disney character Aladin.

Disney's 35-minute youtube video production released on April 29, 2021, revealed the following signature features of DCL Disney Treasure.

  • onboard appearances by Disney characters (Olaf, Captain Minnie, Captain Mickey, a fairy godmother)
  • The 760-ft (232-m) long waterslide (Slide-a-Saurus Rex) has show scenes, special lighting and sound effects. In comparison to Fantasy-Dream, Treasure has more swimming pools (7x) and outdoor deck spaces, plus AquaMouse (pool district/water playground for families).
  • The Oceaneer Club (a dedicated venue with supervised activities for children 3- to 12-years-old) is currently not available on other Disney ships. Other kids clubs include Marvel Super Hero Academy (Spider-Man, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Black Panther, kids can make their own-design superhero costumes), Fairytale Hall (Rapunzel Art Studio, Belle Library, Anna and Elsa’s Summerhus), Imagineering Lab (VR experience/kids can design and virtually ride their own roller coasters - based on designs like Tomorrowland's Space Mountain Roller Coaster, Anaheim Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds roller coasters, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad/mine-train roller coaster), Small World Nursery (for toddlers 6-months to 3-years-old, with babysitting), Hero Zone (indoor playground/sports arena), Olaf’s Royal Picnic (character interactions, live music performances).
  • For teenagers (11 to 17-yo) are designed exclusive hangouts with supervised programs. Children 11 to 14-yo have a separate hangout.
  • On the deck above the Navigation Bridge/Wheelhouse are positioned staterooms. Some of the Suites are 2-level accommodations (fleet's first duplex apartments with connecting spiral staircases).

New for DCL dining venues include Palo Steakhouse (115-seats, also serving traditional Italian cuisine/Cogsworth-themed), Enchante Restaurant (by Michelin chef Arnaud Lallement/Lumiere-themed, 45-seats), The Rose Restaurant & Bar Lounge ("Beauty and the Beast" movie-themed, ).

Quiet Cove Pool District is an adults-only Sundeck with a swimming pool (infinity pool), Jacuzzis, Pool Bar, Pool Cafe.

The boat has two 3D Cinemas (named Wonderland Cinema, Never Land Cinema). These are screening rooms (with capacity 84 seats and 86 seats) for films produced by Walt Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm.

Luna Square is a midship-located space with family-style entertainment during the day, and in the evenings transforming into an adults-only venue. Luna Lounge features a 2-deck LED screen, Bar (Luna Libations), stage (for interactive and live shows, like “Villains Game Night”, “Disney Songbook”, “Disney Uncharted Adventure”.

Star Wars superheroes entertain adults at the new Star Wars movie-themed " Hyperspace Lounge ”. The venue became "hyper-famous" for offering one of the world's most expensive cocktails - the Kaliburr Crystal, priced at USD 5000. The new drink is encased inside a camtono (a security container for storing valuables in The Mandalorian/The Book of Boba Fett) which opens with a button touch and a twist of a rotary cylindric handle. The carrier's side panels then fall open granting access to the "content" - three shot-style glasses full of the expensive concoction. While the ingredients are not listed, there are some speculations that one of them is Remy Martin's Louis XIII cognac (US$3000-4000 a bottle) or other top-shelf liquor.

  • Regular-priced beverages at the Hyperspace Lounge are priced from US$15.
  • With the purchase of any cocktail, guests can take home as a souvenir the Hyperspace Lounge Glass for an additional US$12.

Like the TRITON sisterships, Disney Treasure has 3 fleet's first family restaurants with table service: "Arendelle" (with a Frozen Dining Experience/live shows featuring Disney Frozen 2 film's characters Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf), "1923" (the year Walt Disney Studios opened/with menus featuring California food specialties), and "World of Marvel" (superheroes-themed venue for multimedia dining experience).

Also new for the DCL fleet are the "quick food" bars "Marceline Market" and "Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods". Both are complimentary and open throughout the day.

  • "Marceline Market" is a food marketplace with a changing menu (and daily specials), both indoor-outdoor seating. All dishes are freshly prepared and include American and international classics, seafood, comfort foods, baked goods, soups, salads, vegetarian and vegan fare, desserts. Marceline Market is casual, with buffet-style dining (for breakfast and lunch) and table-served diners (with cooked-to-order entrees).
  • "Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods" is a family restaurant (for quick bites) open throughout the day, including for lunch and dinner. This is an outdoor (seaside boardwalk-style) eatery with shaded seating and all 5x themed food stations - Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue (fleet's first BBQ bar), Donald’s Cantina (fleet's first Mexican food bar), Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream (also offering soft ice cream).

At Disney Treasure's "Worlds of Marvel Restaurant" (deck 4) is hosted DCL's "Avengers: Quantum Encounter”. The new cinematic experience combines dining (Marvel Cinematic Universe-themed menu) with superheroes (Spider-Man, Ant-Man, The Wasp), storytelling (with guests playing interactive roles) and technology (Quantum Core is a new device that causes objects to change size/shrink and grow remotely). Worlds of Marvel Restaurant's dishes are inspired by Marvel Studios' fictional countries Wakanda and Sokovia, as well as Avengers Compound (NYC base).

MS Disney Treasure cruise ship

Unlike Disney Wish, Disney Treasure has two new venues - Plaza de Coco Restaurant (with live music and singing, serves Mexican food and providing two distinct nights of a unique theatrical dining experience themed around the Disney-Pixar movie "Coco"/2017) and Jumbeaux's Sweets (themed on Disney's movie "Zootopia"/2016) which is reminiscent of Jumbeaux Cafe and serves ice cream, gelato, sweets, and candies in a playful and colorful setting.

On Disney Treasure are also introduced themes from famous theme park attractions. Skipper Society's Jungle Cruise attraction offers a playful atmosphere with nods to the famous ride. Periscope Pub is themed on Disney's movie "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" (1954) and the popular Disney Parks attraction. Featuring a submarine-styled interior, Periscope Pub is a casual venue to enjoy craft beers and light bites.

The ship has three MDRs/main dining rooms, themed differently every night during the voyage.

Follows the complete list of DCL Disney Treasure restaurants and food bars.

  • Enchanted Garden Restaurant (696-seat forward Dining Room, inspired by the gardens of Versailles; serves as a buffet for breakfast and lunch, full service for dinner 5:45-8:15 pm)
  • Royal Palace Restaurant (696-seat forward Dining Room, offers complimentary French cuisine; specialty coffees and drinks are extra)
  • Animator's Palate Restaurant (696- seat aft Dining Room, animator's studio design, features favorite Disney-character dinner shows; serves complimentary drinks; Rotational Dining with two fixed Dinner seatings - at 5:45 pm and 8:15 pm)
  • Flo's Cafe (quick-service restaurant with 3 food stations: "Fillmore's Favorites" (lite lunch, complimentary), "Tow Mater's Grill" (burgers bar, complimentary) and "Luigi"s Pizza")
  • Cabanas (self-service complimentary restaurant with American cuisine, pasta, sushi)
  • Remy (reservations-only, adults-only French specialty restaurant for lunch and dinner; aft location, bookings via the internet or onboard)
  • Palo (144-seat Italian specialty restaurant; adults-only, reservation-only; aft location; bookings via the Internet or on board).
  • Wheezy’s Freezies (poolside bar)

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

The ship's kids clubs are the main reason for Disney's high loyalty passengers ratio. Besides all the Disney characters, innovative technologies and fun attractions, Disney children counselors are a pretty big reason many families to repeat their bookings with the company. Always smiling and friendly, they are hugely experienced, all college-educated, attentive and downright. The Oceaneer's "Club" and "Lab" facilities (ages 3-10) are connected, thus doubling the fun space. The "Oceaneer's Club" features the "Andy's Room" (with oversized Disney characters for kids to climb on) and the "Laugh Floor" (with its "laugh-o-meter" and Mike and Sully of "Monsters Inc"). The "Oceaneer's Lab" is maritime-themed, featuring an Animator's Studio and a small Sound Studio. The new Disney approach allows all kids ages 3-10 to access the same clubs with separate rooms and age-related activities.

The children's club "Edge" (for kids ages 11-13) is on Deck 13, properly secluded in the funnel. The best attractions here are the 18 ft (5,5 m) high LCD wall, the video karaoke, numerous interconnected PCs. The teen-only "Vibe" club (kids ages 14-17) is sized 9000 ft2/836 m2. It is fitted with a fountain bar and an exclusive sundeck and swimming pool.

MS Disney Triton cruise ship

Public spaces are decorated in deep blue and red, with numerous "Mickeys" just about everywhere (cabin, artwork, dinnerware, railings).

A new for a Disney ship venue is Sarabi (Lion King-themed) offering live entertainment and activities for families like fun competitions and group games.

One of the ship's most memorable places is the 3-deck high Atrium Lobby with its blue and golden hue, the wide royalty-style winding staircase, and the bronze statue of Aladdin and Jasmine on the Magic Carpet. The Aladin-themed Grand Hall Atrium is a hub area connecting restaurants, theaters, and shops. You may check emails in the Internet cafe, but there's also Wi-Fi coverage throughout the ship.

At the hull's stern are the large-sized characters Peter Pan and Captain Hook, while on the bow is Captain Minnie in a “Voyager” outfit. A new character (introduced on the Treasure ship) is Arthur Quinn (from ABC's "Once Upon a Time" series/2011-2018).

Like all Disney liners, Treasure has no Casino (gambling lounge).

Onboard fun activities

All stage shows feature intricate sets and Disney-themed captivating performances, and the big place for grand entertainment is the Disney Theater with goldies like the "Golden Mickeys" and "Villains Tonight", new amazing stage productions, like the "Disney's Believe" (directed by Gordon Greenberg) and all the best Disney movies in 3D. Walt Disney characters onboard have always been the greatest sensation of all, and there are countless opportunities to meet and greet Mickey and company around the ship - in contrast to Disneyland, here they all are accessible and will always stop for a hug and a photo with you. Another big success is the "Pirates in the Caribbean" kids party divided into two programs - the sing-along "Mickey's Pirates in the Caribbean" followed by the "Club Pirate" (with many special effects) and great Disney fireworks (between the shows).

Wellness (SPA and FITNESS), swimming pools, waterslides, technology

The wellness complex "Senses" (Spa & Beauty) offers all the usual treatments (haircuts, manicures) and more exotic choices (hot-stone massages, mud baths).

  • Senses Spa features an outdoor relaxation space/sundeck (with Jacuzzis, padded sun loungers and deckchairs) where can also be held open-air Yoga sessions.
  • Senses Spa's "The Rainforest" (ice lounge) offers thermal therapies and is fitted with heated loungers, sensory showers.
  • The wellness complex also has Treatment Rooms (for massages), Sauna Room, Steam Room, Dry Room, Spa Villas (for couples).
  • Senses Fitness Center consists of a large main room (with premium gym equipment) and separate Cycle Studio and Aerobics Studio (where at an additional fee are offered Yoga and Pilates classes).

Untangled Salon (Beauty Parlor) and Hook's Barbery (Barber Shop/Men’s Salon) are DCL fleet's first venues dedicated to hair- and beauty services for adults.

  • Untangled Salon (themed on Princess Rapunzel from Disney's movie "Tangled", 2010) is colored in purple and gold and offers haircuts and styling, manicures, pedicures, teeth whitening, skin treatments.
  • Hook's Barbery (themed on Captain Hook/from Disney's movie "Peter Pan", 1953) is decorated in dark woods, furnished with leather chairs and golden mirrors, and offers haircuts, shaves, skincare and nail services. Part of the Barbery is a hidden bar serving premium liquors (bourbons, vintage whiskies, aged rums).

The Sports Deck has a small sports court, a mini-golf course, Ping-Pong tables, power walking/jogging track.

The "Chill" is a teen-only Spa within the facility.

The pool deck has a large area for family fun water activities, featuring 2 whirlpools/hot tubs and 2 kids pools - "Donald's" (5 ft deep) and "Mickey's" (with a spiral slide). A big attraction here is the big LED screen mounted on the funnel. There's a toddler splash area (Nemo-themed) located in the center on Deck 11 with huge glass panes for parents to monitor their kids.

The Slide-a-Saurus Rex waterslide (water-coaster at sea) is located atop the ship and features a 765 ft (233 m) long 4-decks high transparent tube. The spinning tube reaches an incredible height of 150 ft (46 m) above sea level (there's a 42-inch / 107 cm height requirement). "Toy Story Splash Zone" is the kids' aquapark where the waterslide ends. The adults-only "Quiet Cove" pool area is a great place to hide from all the little angels and devils around the ship.

Midship on decks 11-12 there is a Mickey-themed family district with a total of 6x pools (various sized and with different depths) surrounded by spacious sundecks with plenty of sun loungers.

Triton-class new Disney cruise ships (pool deck)

"Disney Uncharted Adventure" is another fleet-first - an interactive family experience that combines imagination and VR technology into a multidimensional sea voyage full of Disney-Pixar characters. The new gaming experience is offered via guests' mobile devices. Via the app "Play Disney Parks", the phones/tablets transform into magical spyglasses allowing them to sail uncharted worlds, unlock missions, solve puzzles, and conquer other "virtual cruisers".

  • The "virtual ship" is mastered by Captain Minnie Mouse assisted by Captain Mickey.
  • Players choose the ship's course, with VR options like Motunui Island (from the Moana movie), Neverland Island (Peter Pan movie), New Orleans (from "The Princess and the Frog" movie), Sydney NSW (from Finding Nemo) and others.
  • "Disney Uncharted Adventure" gaming includes signature characters like Moana, Tiana, Tinker Bell, Kakamora, Peter Pan, Captain Cook, Nemo & friends.
  • You must download the app prior to the cruise.
  • Each player can choose to complete all or just a few adventures/missions and is allowed to start and stop at any time.

AquaMouse is a family fun water attraction and another DCL fleet-first.

  • AquaMouse waterslide has length 760 ft (232 m) of winding tubes suspended above upper decks. The experience is complete with video scenes, special lighting and sound effects, "splashtacular surprises" (60+ water effects).
  • The water ride starts with boarding 2-seater vehicles and ascending into a "magical tunnel" teleporting into the virtual worlds of "Scuba Scramble" and "Swiss Meltdown" (two short animation movies played out through the tube's large virtual windows/LED screens). Along the way are encountered curious sea creatures and popular Disney characters.
  • At the height of the "show", passengers are blasted out of the tunnel to start watersliding around the upper ship decks - first around the forward funnel (through an enclosed tube/lighting effects), then through a dark tunnel followed by a transparent tube revealing breathtaking ocean views. Follow a series of speed blasters up and down ending with a loop over the ship's edge and into the Mermaid Lagoon (swimming pool).
  • Both AquaMouse animated shorts (Scuba Scramble, Swiss Meltdown) are starred by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. "Scuba Scramble" is an underwater adventure (at Mermaid Lagoon), while "Swiss Meltdown" is a mountain sledding excursion going awry. The two chipmunks Chip and Dale are in both shows, hitchhiking to Castaway Cay (DCL's Bahamian island) .

Follows the complete list of DCL Disney Treasure lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults.

  • Walt Disney Theatre (1274-seats, Magical Forest-themed entertainment lounge) is fitted with a Dolby Atmos (3D sound system) and offers live shows, aerial acrobatics performances, 3x grand-style productions (in the evenings), bingo, trivia games and 3D movies (during the day). Disney Treasure Wiki

On July 15, 2017, Disney Cruise Line/DCL officially announced the company's plans to build 3 new vessels , all German-built (by Meyer Werft at Papenburg Shipyard ). The so exciting for all Mickey Mouse fans announcement was made by Bob Chapek (Walt Disney Parks and Resorts company's Chairman).

On January 22, 2019, Orlando's Port Canaveral officials gathered to discuss the new liners' docking at Disney's exclusive Cruise Terminal 8. The facility was improved and upgraded to accommodate/berth the 3 new ships simultaneously. The newbuilds were initially scheduled for deliveries in 2021 ( Wish ), 2022 (Treasure) and 2023 ( Destiny ), but were eventually postponed to, respectively, 2022, 2024, and 2025. The TRITON ship design is based on ~1250 staterooms, for which reason Port Canaveral's Disney Terminal 8 was expanded to max passenger capacity 7500 at a time.

The new TRITON vessels have LOA length 341 m (1119 ft), making them DCL fleet's longest. By GT tonnage/volume (~144,000 tons each) and passenger capacity (2500 / max 3500), the TRITON boats are similarly-sized to the sisterships Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy . But unlike the other fleetmates, the newbuilds are LNG-powered (by liquefied natural gas) and with more (including new for DCL) facilities and amenities. When the last unit is launched in 2025, Walt Disney will nearly double its former 4-ship fleet.

On March 9, 2018, was officially released the TRITON ship's exterior rendering, showing DCL's traditional black-white-red hull color scheme. The new design features a top deck waterpark with slides (positioned between the funnels) and midship balcony cabins, which allows larger-sized accommodations for passengers.

"Disney Triton" was also initially chosen to become the name of the first vessel in the new class/series. However, the unit's name was soon changed to "Disney Wish". Triton is Ancient Greece's god of the sea. Being the son of Poseidon (the god of the waters) and Amphitrite (the goddess of the Sea), Triton is the herald for his father and is usually represented as a merman (male mermaid) having an upper human body and tail and fins of a fish. Like his father, Triton carries a trident, but his special attribute is a twisted conch shell with which he calms or raises the waves. According to the Disney story, King Triton is the protective and loving father of "The Little Mermaid" Ariel, as well as one of the most powerful Disney characters ever created.

In 2019 was announced that during their inaugural seasons in the Caribbean out of Florida, two of Disney's three TRITON ships (Wish and Treasure) will be homeported in Port Canaveral (principal seaport for Orlando City/Walt Disney's theme park capital) while the last TRITON liner (Destiny) will be based in PortMiami . In their homeports, Disney's newest liners are fueled by LNG bunkering barges docking alongside the berthed vessel.

The ship name "Disney Treasure" was officially unveiled on September 11, 2022, by Josh D'Amaro (Disney Parks' President). The announcement was made during the presentation at D23 Expo 2022 (Disney-themed exposition/Sept 9-11) held at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim CA (approx 27 mi / 45 km to the southeast from Los Angeles).

Disney Cruise Line newest ships (Triton-class)

Disney Treasure vessel (Meyer Werft yard/hull number 706) is the German shipbuilder's 55th cruise vessel, to be followed by Disney Destiny (hull 718) as the yard's 56th unit. The vessel's physical construction/assembly officially started on March 31, 2023, with the keel-laying/coin ceremony held at Meyer Werft Papenburg. During the special event, a newly minted commemorative coin was traditionally placed under the hull's first block, for bringing good luck. The bow block weighs 719 tons and has length 23,3 m/77 ft, width 30,9 m/101 ft, height 12,6 m/41 ft.

Disney Cruise Line Gives First Look at the NEW Disney Adventure Ship

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Disney Cruise Line is finally ready to release more details about one of the NEWEST ships joining the fleet (and we’re loving this teaser)!

disney treasure cruise ship release date

We’ve been swooning and speculating for months about Disney Cruise Line’s latest expansions ever since they were announced at Destination D23 last year. While a few of the details about what we can expect out of these ships were shared then, it seems Disney’s one step closer to clueing us in on details about the Disney Adventure we’ve been dying to learn since its announcement!

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is gearing up to set sail for its maiden voyage and it’s sooner than we originally thought! The Disney Adventure ship will be one of the latest additions to the ever-growing fleet of Disney cruise ships and Disney’s teasing us with some new information about it!

disney treasure cruise ship release date

Late last year Disney announced the name of this new ship along with details about where this ship would call home. It’s set to sail out of Singapore starting in 2025 after it’s finished being constructed in Germany.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

On board, visitors will be treated to even more MARVEL, Pixar, and of course Disney stories to explore! The teaser that Disney Cruise Line dropped shows pixie dust surrounding both sides of the ship as the golden detailed touches are added…

disney treasure cruise ship release date

…and we catch a glimpse of Captain Mickey , who will become the bow’s character design on the front of the Disney Adventure!

disney treasure cruise ship release date

The teaser wraps up with a zoomed-out look of what the Disney Adventure ship will look like from the front once it’s ready to set sail and reiterates that the sailings will take place out of Singapore starting in 2025.

disney treasure cruise ship release date

While Disney has not announced an exact date just yet for sailings, future itineraries, or anything else, we’re hopeful that more details will be announced sooner rather than later (mainly because we can’t WAIT to see the rest of this ship)!

The Disney Adventure is just one of 3 new ships coming with the latest announced Disney Cruise Line expansion. This new lineup will see the addition of the Disney Treasure , Disney Adventure, and Disney Destiny soon. The Disney Treasure’s layout, which we already knew, will be very similar to the most recent ship to sail with Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Wish. This leads us to the understanding that the Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny may share similar layouts too as sister ships with varying features, themed dining, and more to differentiate the two.

We’ll be bringing you the latest updates as they’re released about Disney Cruise Line! Be sure you’re following up at All Ears to stay updated!

That pier is a long bridge. I hope Disney has tram service to the island from the ship. Castaway Cay has a better first impression because when you exit the ship, you are stepping onto the island. The walk to the beach is tropical and scenic, with photo opportunities as you go, or you can use the tram service that Disney offers from the ship to the beach. But I still look forward to visiting Disney’s new island Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Disney Treasure Announced as the Next Triton Class Ship at D23 Expo 2022

During today’s “ A Boundless Future: Disney Parks, Experiences and Products ” presentation at the D23 Expo 2022 in Anaheim, Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman, announced the next Triton class Disney Cruise Line ship will be named Disney Treasure .

Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure will be similar to the Disney Wish in size, and is slated for delivery in 2024. Meyer Werft previously assigned s.718 as the hull number. The theme of the Disney Treasure is “adventure” just as “enchantment” was the theme for the Disney Wish.

DCL Disney Treasure Name Plate Rendering

D’Amaro also revealed that the Disney Treasure will be designed with a brand-new motif unlike anything Disney Cruise Line has done before. The theme of adventure, inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration, will pave the way for epic experiences that immerse guests in some of the company’s most legendary stories.

“At the heart of every adventure, there’s a treasure, and we can’t wait for you to create memories aboard this spectacular ship,” D’Amaro said.

DCL Disney Treasure Grand Hall Rendering 1

The Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure will have an Aladdin theme with Jasmine and Aladdin featured on the Magic Carpet as the statue at the bottom of the staircase. The Grand Hall is inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace, drawing on real-world influences from Asia and Africa, and paying homage to the far-off land of Agrabah. At the center, the signature statue will feature Aladdin, Jasmine and Magic Carpet soaring together toward a whole new world of adventure.

DCL Disney Treasure Porthole Coco

Additionally, Coco, Moana, and the Hitchhiking Ghosts were featured in the following reveal video along with look at the Grand Hall.

During D23 Expo 2017, a 7th ship was announced with Bob Chapek stating, two ships “wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations”. While technically, this was the 7th announced ship, the ship will actually be the 6th to join the fleet.

The Disney Treasure is scheduled for delivery in 2024

The “Treasure”…. Really Disney? I think Imagination or Inspiration would be better names, let’s hope Disney doesn’t chop up these other 2 ships like the Wish. I know alot of people love the Dream and Fantasy because they have a certain vibe and Disney character to them. I understand that change is a good think but let’s all hope Disney does the other 2 ships with more thought in the layout.

' src=

they probably would but carnival cruises own the trademarks to those names even though they scrapped those ships recently they own the names maybe someday they can name one of the ships

' src=

@ j Carnival helped themselves to the names DREAM and MAGIC. I think ADVENTURE would have been a better choice than “Treasure”. Would have been much better for ad slogans, too.

' src=

Or even Disney Adventure – Aladdin was all about adventure

' src=

Having sailed on the Wish 3 times I am hoping Disney realizes all of it’s design flaws and does not model this ship exactly off of the Wish because I moved all my Wish sailings to other ships. The Wish has many issues.

' src=

Theme of adventure? Hoping to see some integration with Disney Society of Explorers and Adventurers.

Liking the atrium look.

' src=

Not only that but I expect a whole lot of amazing themes and spaces to make the daily activities much more exciting and inclusive.

' src=

I was hoping for this theme! Fingers crossed for a Trader Sam’s style tiki bar and extensive SEA theming. I love this Wish but I do hope this ship has a full promenade deck.

' src=

That would be fun!!

' src=

Yes! “Trader Sams’ Floating Island Bar” – my first thought for a name – I hope something like that happens!!

' src=

Oh, I am excited! I hope they don’t completely duplicate the Wish layout. Please have a promenade deck, better (I can get in the pool) and larger adult spaces with shade!, more exposed portholes (not covered up like Nightingale’s and Arendelle hallway, etc) and the TV across from the sofa. Double Please. I love the adventure theme and already love the darker, moodier “Grand Hall” or whatever it is called. It is fun to have new things come out of Disney and less repetition and recycling old ideas. The Wish is not my favorite, I have some issues with it, but it is still great to have a new ship to explore! Have to get on it again, soon, I hope.

' src=

Crossing my fingers for a haunted mansion dining experience in the same vein as frozen!

How amazing would it be to be dining in the ballroom scene?!

' src=

Given that for the other two classes of ship, one of them has a name matching the ship class name, I thought this one might be named “Triton”. I was also thinking that if one of the new ships was named “Wish”, another should be named “Star” – and then perhaps the third new ship would be named “Upon A”. 😀

' src=

Sure wish there will be an Adventurer’s Club lounge where we can once again see the likes of Hathaway, Otis, Graves, etc… And recite the Club Creed with the Colonel! Kungaloosh!
