Justice Share ‘HYPERDRAMA’ Tracklist and 2024 Tour Dates

John Cameron

Thundercat, Miguel, and The Flints will Feature on Justice’s upcoming album, HYPERDRAMA .

There’s only a little more than a month to go before Justice release their long-awaited 2024 album HYPERDRAMA in full. The French blog house duo have now shared the tracklist for the effort, along with one of its songs, “ Saturnine ” featuring Miguel , and their slate of Justice: Live tour dates through the end of the year.

“Saturnine” sees Justice (comprised of Xavier de Rosnay  and  Gaspard Augé ) explore a glossier, more radio-friendly permutation of their signature style. Filtered disco sound design underscores Miguel’s falsetto verses, all set to a tempo well below the range of a typical dance track.

“ We don’t think we’ve ever made anything that sounds remotely like this track before ,” said Justice in a joint statement. “ It started with Gaspard playing around with an E-mu synthesiser guitar sound, and he found the main riff. The rest came very quickly. “

HYPERDRAMA will also include collaborations with other notable talent. The duo previously shared “ One Night/All Night ” featuring Tame Impala , and such artists as Thundercat , The Flints , Rimon , and Connan Mockasin will appear on other titles. Notably absent is The Weeknd , who appeared to be teasing something involving Justice back in January.

The full tour announcement for Justice: Live will also stoke excitement among diehard fans eager to hear the songs making up HYPERDRAMA on a proper system. After Rosnay and Augé play both weekends of Coachella in Indio, California on April 12 and 19 , they will travel south of the border for four dates in Mexico that take them to the end of April.

Justice will then ricochet through Europe, performing at festivals like Primavera Sound in Spain and Nameless Festival in Italy . In the first half of July they will play five gigs throughout their homeland of France , including Beauregard Festival in Hérouville-Saint-Clair , Main Square Festival in Arras , and Terres du Son in Monts .

Starting on July 25 , Justice will return to the US with a performance for Teksupport at the Brooklyn Navy Yard . They will then perform at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. , The Met in Philadelphia , and MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston . After a series of dates in Canada and Europe, Justice will close out 2024 with December 17 and 18 shows at Accor Arena in Paris , the second of which was added after the first sold out.

HYPERDRAMA is slated for release via Ed Banger Records on April 26. Pre-order the album and buy tickets to upcoming Justice tour stops .

Justice Announced New ‘Justice: Live’ US Tour Dates And Revealed The Full ‘Hyperdrama’ Tracklist, Including A Single With Miguel

Megan Armstrong

On January 24, Justice announced their Hyperdrama album would be released on April 26. At the time of the announcement, the band dropped “One Night/All Night” with Tame Impala and “Generator.” The NSFW video for “Generator” arrived in mid-February. Justice continued their album rollout on Wednesday, March 20, by releasing “Saturnine (Starring Miguel ),” which can be heard above, and revealing the album’s full tracklist. The French duo, comprised of Xavier De Rosnay and Gaspard Augé, also announced new US dates on their upcoming Justice: Live tour.

“We don’t think we’ve ever made anything that sounds remotely like this track before,” Justice said in a statement. “It started with Gaspard playing around with an E-mu synthesizer guitar sound, and he found the main riff. The rest came very quickly. We love Miguel’s voice when it’s raw. We wanted him to sound outrageously frontal, with no space around his voice. We felt confident we could make this work with a single mono take of his voice and minimal processing. It also suited the theme of the song, that is this sort of fear and loathing in Las Vegas sweaty, hallucinatory flow. Feeling well in feeling bad.”

Miguel added, “Been friends with Xavier and Gaspard for some years now, so to finally work together and get a great song has been the best experience. Merging our sounds felt effortless.”

Listen to “Saturnine” above, and find the Hyperdrama tracklist and tour dates below.

What's there left to say about this composition that hasn't been said a thousand times before? It's sweet, melancholic, innovative, recognisable, charming, mysterious, mournful, joyous, genre-defining, close to millions of hearts; it's nostalgia in tunes and one of the greatest original soundtracks ever created. It's hard to think of what to say about this album other than how fun it is to listen to. Basically every other track is either a bop (Such as Rocamble and Belladone) or a strong vibe (Like the serene-sounding Casablanca or the bittersweet sounding Captain). This album is not afraid to get a little bit silly but it never goes overboard with it; the only track I'm not big on is Force majeure (which feels a tad overblown). Really excellent solo project by 1/2 of Justice! Menzi

Great show, great venue, good sound, good vibes, good people. The show was a bit better than last time at the WeLoveGreen fest. Always a bit sad they almost don't address the audience, but that's just the way they are. They play good music, that's what we pay for.

Justice will perform at Glastonbury for the first time in seven years. In an interview with NME , Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay reflected on their long-awaited return to Worthy Farm : “There’s such a long gap between every tour and every album that we always feel that we start again from zero. You know, every time we make something [and] come back, we really feel like rookies again. The world is also changing so fast that, like, really we have no idea what it’s like to play a festival now.”

In a five-star review , NME ’s Thomas Smith called ‘Hyperdrama’, their newest album in eight years, “a blockbuster return” with “their best songs since their 2007 debut”.

Talon Mine Tours is a tour company and guide service, essentially. The project offers free public tours of the Tamarack Mine sites, and also does custom tours for groups.

The latest news and events across all forms of the arts.

Delivered every Friday.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct that Talon Metals is not a subsidiary of Rio Tinto.

The town of Tamarack, Minnesota, in Aitkin County is named after a kind of pine tree that turns yellow in the fall and loses its needles in the winter. They often grow in wet areas like bogs or swamps, which there are a lot of in Aitkin County. The whole area used to be a giant proglacial lake. Tamarack sits on Ojibwe land and is 1855 and 1854 treaty territory.

Last weekend, artist and activist Shanai Matteson helped organize a tour of the area as part of a new project called Talon Mine Tours .

Matteson grew up in Palisade, which like Tamarack, is in the north part of Aitkin county. “Out in the swamp,” Matteson said, describing the ecological vibe.

Matteson is the granddaughter of a miner. Her grandfather was from Croatia, and migrated to the United States and worked for the mining industry. “My grandpa never talked about it a whole lot,” she said. “I got the sense that his time working in industry was not something that he was really proud of.”

Matteson’s grandmother has told Matteson stories about living near the mining company town, Nashwauk. “She said, the red dust was everywhere— on her teeth— it was everywhere,” Matteson said. Her grandma insisted they move back to Aitkin County, and her grandfather would drive to work in the mine from there.

After attending Perpich Arts High School, Matteson then moved to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota where she was based until 2020. There, she started the Water Bar with Colin Kloecker, her former husband.

Related | The world’s first full-fledged ‘water bar’ is about to open in Minneapolis

The Water Bar started in 2014 as a pop-up project and eventually grew into its own nonprofit organization. Essentially, it used the conceit of a bar to foster conversations around where water comes from and the environmental issues around it.

“The goal was really simple,” Matteson says. “We just wanted to talk to people about the source of water and do it in a really creative way.”

The Water Bar became a platform for engagement and education. “Depending on who you put behind the bar, depending on what you talk about, or where you have the water bar, it leads to all different kinds of conversations,” she said.

Last weekend, artist and activist Shanai Matteson helped organize a tour of the area as part of a new project called Talon Mine Tours.

In 2020, Matteson moved back to Palisade, in Aitkin county when the COVID-19 shutdowns were happening and she was in the midst of a divorce. She got involved in the movement warning people against Line 3 and was charged with conspiring, aiding and abetting trespass on the pipeline and two misdemeanors for unlawful assembly, all charges that were eventually thrown out in the courts. Now, she’s focusing her art and activism on a proposed new nickel mine planned near her home.

President Biden has made clear he wants the U.S. to invest in clean energy and specifically electric vehicles, but that push comes with what Roopali Phadke, Environmental Studies professor at Macalester College, calls “The Green Bargain.” Essentially, the problem is that electrification is going to require a lot of metals like lithium and nickel.

In Aitkin County, Talon Metals’ Tamarack Mine has already received millions in federal funding for their proposed project to mine high grade nickel. In September, they were awarded $20.6 million by the Department of Defense . This was after the firm won a $114 million grant from the Department of Energy to develop an ore processing plant in North Dakota.

Talon Metals also has an agreement with Tesla.

Matteson is using her skills as an artist to fight back against the mine, which she believes will destroy the water and natural resources in her community. Similar to the Water Bar, she’s using the idea of a service business to open up conversations.

Talon Mine Tours is a tour company and guide service, essentially. The project offers free public tours of the Tamarack Mine sites, and also does custom tours for groups. Matteson acts as a facilitator for the group, working with a group of collaborators— among them Leanna Goose, from Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, and Chris Baldwin, a former engineer for a gold mine company who makes hand drums.

Last Friday, Talon Mine Tours held an event where about 30 people showed up. “Not bad for a town that has about 50 people in it,” Matteson said.

The tour started in the town center of Tamarack, where Talon Metals has their offices, and went up to the proposed drill site. For the tour, Matteson worked with a handful of community members to come up with a list of questions they wanted to talk about with the community.

The discussion ranged from the proposed timeline of the new mine, Indigenous rights and environmental justice issues.

For Matteson, the purpose of the tour is to create a kind of cultural storytelling space. But she’s also an organizer and advocate for environmental justice. “It is an art project but it’s also an organizing project,” she said.

Talon Metals provided the following comment on Matteson’s Mine Tour company:

“It’s great to live in a place where people are engaged and care about the environment,” said Jessica Johnson, a spokesperson with Talon Metals. “We do too, we just disagree with the Mine Tour folks that society has to make a choice between the minerals required to make clean energy systems and protecting the natural environment. We can do both, while also creating good union jobs and broad economic benefits for the region at the same time.  We have been offering tours of our mineral exploration operations for a few years now, people are always welcome to reach out and schedule a tour with me to meet our local team members and get to see some high-grade American nickel.”

Last Friday, Talon Mine Tours held an event where about 30 people showed up.

It also feels right to be centering her art practice in the community where she grew up. “A lot of what I learned growing up in that community was always part of my art making,” she said. “It’s a place where relationships are everything.”

For the next event, Matteson will be showing a sculpture she created called “OVERBURDEN / OVERLOOK,” supported through funding from Forecast Public Art. It’s based on a number of overlooks you find across the Iron Range and other communities that have had active mining, built for people to look at the mine. “I built a mobile mine view on the back of the trailer, so that we can take it wherever we wanted to tell stories, and really focus on the overlooked stories,” she said. “The idea is to not just focus on the actual extraction, but really focus on the impact on water or on workers. Mostly those narratives are pretty dark.”

She’ll be showing the sculpture at Talon Mine Tours’ next pop-up event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th in the afternoon ( see here for details ).

Talon Mine Tours plans additional tour events on July 20 in the town of Emily, where a manganese mine is being planned, and another one in August during the Tamarack Hey Day festival. Plus, anyone who wants to do the tour can contact the group through their website .

Willie Nelson cancels another tour date amid health concerns

FILE - Willie Nelson performs at Farm Aid 30 in Chicago on Sept. 19, 2015.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Gray News) - Willie Nelson will not be performing Wednesday night at the Outlaw Music Festival in Virginia Beach.

According to a social media post , the 91-year-old country music legend will miss Wednesday’s scheduled performance at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.

The statement didn’t say why Nelson would not be performing but the announcement comes days after he had to cancel last week’s appearance with the Outlaw Music Festival in Georgia due to the singer “not feeling well.”

The country music star’s team said doctors informed him that he needed to rest for a few days.

Nelson is one of the main headliners for the Outlaw Music Festival.

Lukas Nelson, Willie Nelson’s son, and the family band along with other special guests are now scheduled to play in place of Willie Nelson, according to his representatives.

Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and John Mellencamp are expected to take the stage as scheduled.

Representatives for Willie Nelson said he is expected to rejoin the Outlaw Music Festival Tour shortly.

The tour’s next scheduled stop is Friday in Syracuse, New York.

Justin Timberlake  returned to New York just over a week after his arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons .

However, the singer was hours away from where he was arrested and, instead, inside Madison Square Garden, where he performed two shows for the New York City leg of his  Forget Tomorrow World Tour  on June 25th and 26th.

They're the latest string of shows since he resumed the tour on June 21 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, and emotionally addressed his "tough week."

The 43-year-old pop star bowed down to the roaring crowd and appeared to wipe away a tear after sharing the emotionally taxing week following his arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, where he was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated in the early hours of June 18. The NSYNC singer is due back in court next month.

The arrest came just after the singer celebrated Father's Day , with wife  Jessica Biel  exalting him as "the rock" of the family on which they lean on in a post dedicated to him . The actress was spotted filming scenes some two and a half hours south of the Hamptons in New York City's Central Park on June 17, just prior to Timberlake's arrest.

ET is breaking down the events that led up to his arrest and the ensuing fallout.

Justin Timberlake celebrates Father's Day

Both Timberlake and Biel took to social media to celebrate the holiday. The "SexyBack" singer posted two photos of his and Biel's children -- sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3.

In his caption , Timberlake called them his "2 greatest gifts."

"I learn more about myself everyday just because you both chose me to be your Daddy," he added, in part. "I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys.... to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life and to pick you up when you fall."

Biel's carousel post included photos of Timberlake horsing around with the kids. In her caption , she referred to him as "THE ROCK. The rock we climb on, we lean against. The rock that shades us from the sun."

Following his arrest, comments on both posts have been limited.

Justin Timberlake hangs out with friends at a boutique hotel

According to TMZ , Timberlake was hanging out with friends on the night of Monday, June 17 at The American Hotel, a boutique establishment that also offers a 75-foot yacht for rent.

TMZ also reported, citing sources, that Timberlake's friends -- the ones he had been hanging out with at the hotel -- raced to the scene and tried convincing cops to give him a break, to no avail. It should be noted that the police report, later obtained by ET, made no mention of this claim.

A source later told ET, "Justin was with his friends [Monday] night at American Hotel and really enjoying himself. He seemed a little tipsy and drunk, but not in a belligerent way. When he left and got in his car, he revved his engine a few times."

Another source tells ET, "Justin and his party arrived after 10 p.m. and were full of energy. He was with a group of around 6-7 people including men, women and some young adults. There wasn't anyone in the dining room, but there were a few people still drinking at the bar. It was surprising to see them show up so late because the restaurant was pretty much closed by the time they got there."

Jessica Biel is less than three hours away in Central Park

Meanwhile, Biel was  working and filming scenes for her new Prime Video series, The Better Sister . ET obtained photos of the 42-year-old actress in medieval costume on the set in Central Park. She wore a white top, blue bodice and tan skirt as she shot scenes for the thriller alongside co-stars Corey Stoll and Elizabeth Banks.

Between takes, the 7th Heaven star was seen carrying a script and sipping a drink while wearing more casual clothes.

The Better Sister  follows "Chloe (Biel), who moves through the world with her handsome lawyer husband, Adam, and teenage son Ethan by her side while her estranged sister, Nicky (Banks), hustles to make ends meet while trying to stay clean," per the series' description. "When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, laying bare long-buried secrets."

Justin Timberlake's arrest report

A spokesperson for the Sag Harbor Police Department tells ET that cops observed Timberlake on June 18 at approximately 12:37 a.m. driving a 2025 gray BMW southbound on Madison Street. Cops say he failed to stop at a duly posted stop sign and he failed to stay in his lane.

"A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition," the statement continued. "Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. where he was released on his own recognizance."

Timberlake's lawyer, defense attorney Edward Burke Jr., confirmed to ET that the singer was charged with one count of DWI and cited for running a stop sign and failure to keep in his lane. He's due back in court virtually on July 26.

According to the police report obtained by ET, cops say Timberlake was observed "traveling southbound on Madison Street, a public highway in the village of Sag Harbor." Cops say they observed Timberlake fail to stop at a posted stop sign at Madison Street and Jermaine Avenue at approximately 12:17 a.m."

One minute later, cops say they observed Timberlake "fail to keep the right side of the roadway on Madison Street with a cross street of Forrest Street, and again at Madison Street with a cross street of Susan Street." At this point, cops say they pulled the singer over and "upon contact with [Timberlake] it was ascertained that [he] was operating said vehicle in intoxicated conditions, in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."

At 12:37 a.m., cops note in the police report that they placed Timberlake under arrest and he was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and booked. Cops say "the alcohol influence report was read in its entirety to [him] at [12:52 a.m.], to which [Timberlake] responded, 'No, I'm not doing a chemical test.' The alcohol influence report was read in its entirety a second time at [1:07 a.m.], to which [Timberlake] responded, 'I refuse.' The alcohol influence report was read in its entirety a third time [at 1:22 a.m.], to which [Timberlake] responded, 'I refuse.'"

Cops also note in the police report that Timberlake made the following admission, "I had one martini and I followed my friends home."

Justin Timberlake spotted leaving jail

Hours after his arrest, Timberlake was spotted leaving jail. The "Cry Me a River" singer looked relaxed as he exited the facility. He wore a long black dress shirt, a gray shirt, jeans and white Nikes. He also had a black ball cap on and shades.

At one point, it appeared as if Timberlake was smiling as he walked to his waiting vehicle.

Justin Timberlake's mugshot released

Timberlake's mugshot was released hours after his arraignment for a DWI charge June 18  in Sag Harbor, New York. He looks somber in his mugshot.

According to the police report, police noted that "upon contact with [Timberlake] it was ascertained that [he] was operating said vehicle in intoxicated conditions, in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."

Jessica Biel spotted smiling on set hours later

Hours after Timberlake's arrest,  Biel was photographed smiling  and laughing on the set of her Prime Video series  with other members of the cast and crew while shooting an outdoor scene in the Big Apple.

Biel, who appeared to be in good spirits, rocked a striped black and beige long-sleeve dress and a short 'do as she stood around between takes during production on the morning of June 18.

Justin Timberlake is 'remorseful'

On June 19,  a source told ET , "Justin is feeling remorseful, ashamed, and humiliated, but also accountable."

According to the source, Timberlake "does not believe he needs help when it comes to alcohol," instead viewing the incident as a "major lapse of judgement."

"This situation has taken a toll on him, but he is trying to view it as a way that he can reset himself," the source added. "He does his best to set a positive example for himself, Jess, his family and the public, and will continue to try to learn and grow. He is taking this seriously and recognizes how it can impact his family dynamic as a husband and father, and his fans too."

Meanwhile, Timberlake and Biel are remaining a unit following the incident.

"Justin and Jess are very grateful that no one was hurt and that everyone is OK and safe," the source continued. "Jess is definitely feeling disappointed, but she is by Justin’s side. She acknowledges that Justin, and all of us, are all human and make mistakes."

Justin Timberlake addresses the arrest at his tour

Timberlake addressed his arrest during night one of his tour at United Center in Chicago.

"We've been together through ups and downs and lefts and rights and, uh, it's been a tough week," Timberlake  says in video shared on social media . "But you're here. I'm here... I know sometimes I'm hard to love but you keep on loving me and I love you right back. Thank you so much."

In the middle of his remarks, Timberlake bowed down to the crowd after they gave him a roaring ovation. Following his remarks, Timberlake appeared to wipe away tears before inviting the crowd for a singalong.

Justin Timberlake's bartender speaks out

Following his release, one of the bartenders at Sag Harbor's American Hotel confirmed Timberlake's arrest , but downplayed their role in the intoxicated events.

The bartender also told  People  that he served Timberlake just one martini before he left the venue. "If he was drinking more, it wasn't here," another employee told the outlet.

Justin Timberlake returns to social media

The singer posted to social media for the first time since his arrest , appearing in an Instagram video as he showed off his new  Forget Tomorrow World Tour merch in honor of his only two shows at Madison Square Garden. The performer held up a T-shirt featuring the New York City tour dates and designed using the New York Knicks' colors, orange and blue.

Jessica Biel joins Justin Timberlake backstage

In videos posted to Instagram, Biel and Timberlake had fun taste testing candy backstage while in Manhattan for the New York City leg of his tour. Other members of the tour team joined in on the fun and playfully took turns rating the candy. The longtime actress was also spotted in the audience of Tuesday's show with one of their sons.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are "doing just fine"

Just over a week after Timberlake's arrest, a source told ET that the singer and his famous wife are "doing just fine."

The source said that "they both know, and understand, that everyone makes mistakes and that mistakes don't define people. Jess knows that Justin is a great husband and dad, and a wonderful person with the best intentions."

The source added, "He is putting his energy into wowing his fans with incredible shows and trying to move on. Jess is feeling focused and centered while filming and not letting this situation derail her. Their kids are also at the forefront of their minds as always and they're protecting their children from any negative media attention."

Justice department charges nearly 200 people in $2.7 billion health care fraud schemes crackdown.

justice tour tracklist

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly 200 people have been charged in a sweeping nationwide crackdown on health care fraud schemes with false claims topping $2.7 billion, the Justice Department said on Thursday.

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the charges against doctors, nurse practitioners and others across the U.S. accused of a variety of scams, including a $900 million scheme in Arizona targeting dying patients.

“It does not matter if you are a trafficker in a drug cartel or a corporate executive or medical professional employed by a health care company, if you profit from the unlawful distribution of controlled substances, you will be held accountable,” Garland said in a statement.

In the Arizona case, prosecutors have accused two owners of wound care companies of accepting more than $330 million in kickbacks as part of a scheme to fraudulently bill Medicare for amniotic wound grafts, which are dressings to help heal wounds.

Nurse practitioners were pressured to apply the wound grafts to elderly patients who didn’t need them, including people in hospice care, the Justice Department said. Some patients died the day they received the grafts or within days, court papers say.

In less than two years, more than $900 million in bogus claims were submitted to Medicare for grafts that were used on fewer than 500 patients, prosecutors said.

The owners of the wound care companies, Alexandra Gehrke and Jeffrey King, were arrested this month at the Phoenix airport as they were boarding a flight to London, according to court papers urging a judge to keep them behind bars while they await trial. An attorney for Gehrke declined to comment, and a lawyer for King didn’t immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press.

Authorities allege Gehrke and King, who got married this year, knew charges were coming and had been preparing to flee. At their home, authorities found a book titled “How To Disappear: Erase Your Digital Footprint, Leave False Trails, and Vanish Without a Trace,” according to court papers. In one of their bags packed for their flight, there was a book titled “Criminal Law Handbook: Know Your Rights, Survive The System,” the papers say.

Gehrke and King lived lavishly off the scheme, prosecutors allege, citing in court papers luxury cars, a nearly $6 million home and more than $520,000 in gold bars, coins and jewelry. Officials seized more than $52 million from Gehrke’s personal and business bank accounts after her arrest, prosecutors say.

In total, 193 people were charged in a series of separate cases brought over about two weeks in the nationwide health care fraud sweep. Authorities seized more than $230 million in cash, luxury cars and other assets. The Justice Department carries out these sweeping health care fraud efforts periodically with the goal of helping to deter other potential wrongdoers.

In another Arizona case, one woman is accused of billing the state’s Medicaid agency for substance abuse treatment services that didn’t serve any real purpose or were never provided, prosecutors say.

Another case alleges a scheme in Florida to distribute misbranded HIV drugs. Prosecutors say drugs were bought on the black market and resold to unsuspecting pharmacies, which then provided the medications to patients.

In some cases, patients were given bottles that contained different drugs than the label showed. One patient ended up unconscious for 24 hours after taking what he was led to believe was his HIV medication but was actually an anti-psychotic drug, prosecutors say.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse Announce ‘A Big Unplanned Break’ From Tour

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Neil Young and Crazy Horse have suspended their Love Earth Tour, which was slated to resume July 8 in Toronto, and keep them on the road through the end of September.

“When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we all had to stop,” they wrote in a statement on the Neil Young Archives . “We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our tour will have a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again! We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience. Health is #1. We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you… and for us.”

The July shows across Canada and the Western United States have all been canceled, according to Ticketmaster. Additional September shows at the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles have been pulled as well.

“The songs we’re playing here tonight were all produced by this guy whose name was David Briggs,” Young told the crowd in Mansfield, Massachusetts. “A long time ago, he left this planet and went outward. He’s still out there. When he disappeared, we played our first album. We went in there without him, and we were feeling it.”

Hours before they were supposed to take the stage at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on May 23, they announced that the show was being postponed “due to illness.” Two shows later that week in Austin and Dallas were also postponed. They haven’t indicated which members of the band fell ill or when makeup dates might possibly occur.
