What is the best time to visit Egypt 2024 ?

The high season for tourism is all year with winter and spring being peak season for cultural travels with lots of sightseeing. Weather in Egypt is perfect for many kinds of tourism, and if coming in June, July, and August, head for the seaside resorts. Those months are very warm with temperatures that can reach around 45C. and the humidity is about 70 to 80%, but it is bearable with the sea and large swimming pools nearby. So the period of the high summer season is also a bit busy as hotels fill up with tourists from all over the world looking for a bargain, lots of sunshine, diving, snorkeling, etc. It is also a primary vacation time in Europe. If you come in the deep summer season you can still enjoy it because you can always sightsee early in the morning and go again at night when the sunsets. You will definitely need good sunscreen and a lot of liquids to drink with a nice hat on your head. Summer is a good time for people looking for good rates in accommodation and other services.

What is the dress code in Egypt?

Egypt is a Muslim country and the dress code is towards the conservative side, especially for women. That being said, we are used to seeing travelers from all over the world. My suggestion would be to wear light clothes and not to wear short shorts, short skirts and alike to avoid the occasional unwanted stare. But it's really up to you. When you visit religious places (synagogues, churches, and mosques) you do need to cover your shoulders and wear over the knee dresses, if you are planning to wear one of course. If you plan to attend the Nile dinner cruise, there is no need for formal wear unless you want to make that night a special night! Also, you will be sharing this experience with other travelers so you can dress however you feel most comfortable.

How to get visa to visit Egypt?

You can get your visa when you arrive at Cairo Airport. It is an easy process for USA, UK, Canadian, Australian and European citizens. The visa is simply a stamp (like a mail or postage stamp) that you buy from the visa office, at the port of entry just before the immigration booth. The visa will cost you $25 US Dollars and after buying it; you just stick it on any empty page on your passport. Once you have bought your visa you then stand in line to get your passport stamped by the immigration officer. You can also apply for E-Visa via the official electronic visa portal: www.visa2egypt.gov.eg

Most cruises have. There is another way of cruising the Nile, which is the Felucca boat. It is traditional and charming but it is cheap as long as it will be ok to sleep on the deck exposed to mosquitos and most of these boats do not have a toilet

The Valley of the Queens is the ultimate symbol of beauty and royal lineage that stands as the final resting place for queens, princesses, princes, and esteemed figures. It contains 91 tombs dating back to the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties (1550 – 1077 BC), which are known to be filled with magnificent treasures and heavenly artworks. Among its notable tombs are those belonging to the consorts of Ramesses I, Seti I , and Ramesses II , including the renowned resting place of Queen Nefertari , beloved of Hathor (1290–1224 BCE).

Medinet Habu is an archaeological gem that dates back to the 12th century BC and is adorned with exquisite structures, such as the preserved Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III, which offers insights into the architectural prowess of its era. It acted as the hub of Thebes' economic activity and housed the Temple of Amun & the Temple of Ay and Horemheb, as well as a collection of temples, workshops, storage rooms, a royal palace, administrative buildings, and accommodations all over the area.

Deir El Medina is a miraculous marvel that acted as the main headquarters for the ancient Egyptian laborers and artisans who worked in the Valley of the Kings during the New Kingdom's 18th to 20th Dynasties (1550–1070 BCE). It is found over an area of 5,600 square meters, earning the name of the " Place of Truth ". It offers insights into various aspects of their existence, including work and living conditions, organizational structures, medical practices, legal systems, religious beliefs, and social dynamics.

Edfu Temple by Horse Carriage

Edfu Temple is an archaeological wonder that embodies the concepts of power and triumph, which are dedicated to the sky-falcon god Horus. It was constructed between 237 BC and 57 BC on the western bank of the Nile River, where it proudly claims the title of one of Egypt's largest and best-preserved temples. The temple was created on the place where Horus defeated his evil uncle set where the battle scenes can be found depicted across the walls of this colossal gem.

Kom Ombo Temple

The magnificent Kom Ombo Temple is found directly on the heavenly banks of the Nile river as a golden, unique marvel of ancient architecture that was created between 180 BC and 47 BC which pays homage to both Haroeris, known as " Horus the Elder " and Sobek, the crocodile god of the Nile on both sides of the temple in the most symmetric manner. The celestial Elephantine Island is found downstream of the first cataract of the Nile River that enchants its natural spectacle and monumental wonders found on an area of 1,200 meters in length and 400 meters in width. The Island has a rich history dating back to the Second Intermediate Period (1650–1550 BC) when it served as a fort on the southern frontier. It was the worship center of Khnum, the ram-headed god of the cataracts, and a vital source of granite for Egypt's iconic monuments. 

The Nubian Village is a marvel of natural beauty and cultural heritage that is captivated by its unique landscapes, architectural wonders, and vibrant traditions. It stretches along the Nile River for 123,000 square kilometers from Aswan in southern Egypt to Khartoum in central northern Sudan. It traces its origins to the dawn of Africa's civilizations around 2000 BCE. The Nubian way of life can be seen across all the customs and traditions, plus intricate drawings, handmade crafts, and jewelry all over the village that also showcase the region's rich artistic heritage.

The enchanting Kitchener Island is a tiny oval oasis that spans one kilometer in length and less than half a kilometer in width. Between 1911 and 1914, Lord Kitchener grew the island into a botanical haven, and it became the host of a stunning collection of exotic trees and plants from around the globe. It is now maintained by the Egyptian government, and all the focus is on the Aswan Botanical Garden on Kitchener Island, which is a heavenly example of natural allure and horticultural diversity.
