Benefits Plan

alberta teachers association travel insurance

At Retirement we have to make important decisions about Health and Welfare and Travel Benefits. Depending on who we worked for, we may have the option to continue with our current employer based plan, we may be offered a modified plan for retirees, or our plan may terminate with the end of our employment. This is an important area of decision making, and we encourage you to join many of your retired colleagues in the ARTA Benefits Plan.

ARTA’s Insurance Plan was developed by Retired Teachers, for Retired Teachers, and as such has desirable aspects that are not included in other plans. It provides a variety of insurance services to its members. The Extended Health Care, Dental and Travel Plan is administered by the Alberta School Employees Benefit Plan (ASEBP).

The plan is open to all ARTA Members. No medical evidence of Insurability is required to join the Travel portion of the plan, if applied for within 60 days of termination of Employer or Spousal group plan Benefits. (Members may join Extended Health and Dental portions of the plan at any time or age.) The Travel Plan is unique in that it has no upper age limit, and no discrimination for pre-existing conditions. NOTE: This insurance is for medical emergencies, which are SUDDEN and UNFORSEEN . Information and Plan Details can be obtained by contacting:
