Tyler Gregory Okonma better known by his stage name Tyler, The Creator, is an American rapper and record producer from California.

Tyler showed an interest to music from an incredibly young age, at the age of seven, he would take the cover out of an album's case and create covers for his own imaginary albums including a track list with song times before he could even make music. At fourteen, he taught himself to play the piano and music became a constant in his ever changing home life, he attended twelve different schools over his twelve year education.

On December 25, 2009, Tyler self released his first album entitled 'Bastard' which went on to receive rave reviews from critics, including Pitchfork Media who placed it at #32 on their top 100 albums of the year list. He followed this up with 'Goblin' which secured him a one album deal with XL Recordings. His next album 'Wolf' was released in 2013 and was produced solely by Tyler, featuring guest appearances from Frank Ocean, Mike G, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Left Brain and Hodgy Beats.

Tyler has found himself at the centre of negative media attention for his use of homophobic slurs, frequently the use of the epithet faggot in his lyrics and on social media. He personally denied the accusations of homophobia, stating, "I'm not homophobic. I just say faggot and use gay as an adjective to describe stupid shit," and, "I'm not homophobic. I just think faggot hits and hurts people". He appears to understand very little of the impact of his derogatory use of language. However Tyler, The Creator was the first to openly show support for fellow Odd Future member Frank Ocean after he revealed he had a relationship with another younger man. The young rapper has managed to collect a number of nominations at the MTV Music Video Awards, along with acclaim for his solo discography and work within Odd Future despite numerous controversies surrounding his lyrical content.

Live reviews

I have been a fan of Tyler for a long time, as well as the whole group of OFWGKTA, and seeing him live was something I had on my bucket list. I went in with high expectations for his show, already knowing of how much energy and enthusiasm he puts into his live performances. What I got at The Forum went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. The crowd was amazing, knowing every song and shouting and yelling along with unrivaled amounts of energy. Tyler was just as, or even more, energetic and knew how to work the crowd perfectly by interaction, be it between moments talking about random things or talking about his music and singing. I was blown away by the fact that at least twice he called to stop the song just to start it again because he loved how into it the crowd was and wanted to see it again. Of course we, the crowd, loved it and drained our lungs out with every lyric. I've seen the Arctic Monkeys, Sleigh Bells, Banks, Pendulum, Wolf Alice and others and can honestly say Tyler was the best overall. Everyone exited the venue with shirts soaked in sweat and with cracking voices, with grins on their face from having experienced something they'd never forget. If you like Tyler, or by extension OFWGKTA, you have to see him live if you get the opportunity, you can never anticipate how godly his live performances will be. I will definitely be waiting for his next visit to see him again.

The show started almost on time with a short DJ warm up by Taco and quickly two other Odd Future boys - Tyler himself and Jasper Dolphin - entered the stage. Tyler performed both old and new songs, mostly his upbeat hits and in between songs he'd converse with the crowd in his own down to earth way. Tyler is an amazing performer, he knows when the crowd gets too hot and needs a break or when we need a little bit more jumping to liven up the mood. The concert was intimate despite it being sold out because of Tylers genuine and unique personality and he almost makes it sound like he's speaking to a bunch of friends rather than a bunch of sweaty fans. The concert lasted for about an hour and a half. I was front row on the ground and it was wild at times and very crowded, so if that's something you do not like; go to the balconies instead (the people I was with chose to do that and says it is more calm) because with an audience mostly consisting of semi-drunk teenage boys, it is bound to go a bit crazy at times. But as I mentioned, Tyler and the two other boys were very aware of how we as an audience were feeling and you felt safe. To sum it up, it was a very intimate and very much how you would expect it to be, if you have followed Tyler as a fan for a while concert and definitely in my top best concerts ever. A must for fans of him and OFWGKTA.

To be quite honest, I am not the most hardcore fan of Yellowcard and I only know a few of their earlier songs. Regardless of that, however, I actually had quite a lot of fun at their gig at Fuji Rock Festival 2013 last summer. I think their strong fan base all over the world and how they can really rally up a crowd is one aspect that makes this band so fun to watch live. The fans really get wild and stay wild for the entire concert as soon as the band walks on the stage. The crowd just crowd surf each other and go absolutely nuts and it's an entertaining sight! The bands music is extremely loud and you can hear it throughout the entire venue and I feel that Yellowcard represents a lot of what rock is about nowadays. It's about making music that allows for everybody Iistening to come together and enjoy the music and the festival vibe and I think Yellowcard did a good job of that in my opinion despite not knowing much about them! Yellowcard is definitely a great concert for those who want to go apeshit with the influence of rock!

The doors opened at 20:30.

The timetable said the show will start at 22:00 but taco's set started at 22:00.

The bass and sound setup was good and wasn't to hard.

When Tyler came on stage, Everybody went crazy. There where moshpits the hole show.

The biggest moshpit was at the last song Cherry Bomb.

Tyler did it pretty good on stage. Sometimes he had to take a break because his astma. But Taco and Jasper continued the song if that happened.

Me and my friend visited the movie he organised in the afternoon so we got priority for the show. This was good because it wasn't that busy at the merchandise store . When the other people came in, I'm sure I couldn't get the Cherry Bomb 6 panel. After the show they sold out.

Because the delay of the show we missed our last train so we spend our night at the station. Maybe thats a tip for the next time. Do the show a bit earlier!

But after all it was amazing!

Amazing experience... Taco was an amazing DJ doing a great job of hyping the crowd up. Then Vince came out and killed it just a great set. the stage design was like no other the rotating screens were really cool and it was nice that they put timers up so we knew when Vince would come out. Tyler's performance was just amazing he performed for 2 1/2 hours and he really is a great performer, he performed both old and new songs there wasn't a favorite of mine that he missed. The stage design was so cool with a huge tree for Tyler to stand on. Tyler really cares about his fans he sang happy birthday to this one dude which was so sick. The show was sold out so 2,400 people were all singing the words to his songs which was just amazing the best concert experience I have ever had I have to go see him live again.

Okay, so straight up, the venue kinda sucked. Tyler was playing The Forum, in London. The venue itself was pretty decent, big floor space and actually a decent amount of room. The security were pretty cool too. Only problem is, before Tyler goes on, they turn off the fans keeping the place cool, so for the next two hours, it is boiling, like people are walking around soaked in sweat. BUT TYLER was amazing. The videos on Youtube and junk do him no justice, he was awesome. Taco came on and DJ'd to get everyone hyped which was awesome. Tyler was talking to the crowd and it was wild. He played all his decent songs, playing stuff from all three albums, and everyone fucking loved it. The crowd were sick too, everyone in GOLF shit, 10/10 performance. (Wish he had played Sandwitches though)

Man Oh Man is Tyler AWESOME OR WHAT? I can honestly say that Tyler fans are the most energetic fans I've ever seen, me included haha. I've never been in a mosh pit that was this crazy before, and I loved every second of it. You will not regret going to see Tyler because he is just that awesome. This was my first time seeing him in concert and I was super happy at how approachable and funny he was. He knows how to work the crowd and how to get literally every last person on their feet and stomping the roof off of the building. I can’t wait until he come the SF again. Tyler I’m waiting for you!!

P.S - HE BROUGHT TACO AND JASPER!!!!!

I loved every min of his performance.. I loved and appreciated the re-verb of ''tell these black kids they can be who they are'' means so much to us. And I know this isn't his favorite album and It didn't come out as this ''star studded'' album. But there's no one couldn't have said it better than Tyler at this time. So I want to thank him for that. Maybe he will finally be able to score a movie that would be so !!!!

From a guy who’s grown up with Tyler and used his music to get through rough patches and hard times after waiting 8 years to see him live, I can honestly say it was the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve never been happier in life than I was that night, stood from my seat the entire time and went word for word with Tyler himself to all the songs he performed Is something I could only dream of. I plan on going every year for as long as he continue touring from now on.

Rex Orange County opened with dope beach vibes then later joined in on "Boredom". After Rex finished, Tyler carried the show alone reflecting the energy of the whole crowd. He is a lightening storm on stage. He said that one of his goals on this tour is to see the crowd dance and his beats strongly reflect that sentiment. If you find yourself lucky at one of his shows, do yourself a favor; wear sneakers and don't bring your drink into the mosh pit, you're in for a treat.

Tyler, The Creator Adds Additional Dates To 2022 Australian Tour

Due to overwhelming demand tyler, the creator has extended his forthcoming australian tour..

As tickets go on sale to his first headline tour of the country in eight years, overwhelming demand has seen Tyler, The Creator has added additional dates to his forthcoming Australian Tour.

The CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST arena tour will touch down in Australia and New Zealand throughout July and August next year, with performances slated for Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, following a one-off date in Auckland, New Zealand.

However, mass demand has now seen second and final dates to the tour have been added for Sydney on Saturday, July 30th, and Melbourne on Wednesday, August 3rd.

Last in the country for a run of festival appearances in late 2019, a lot has changed for the US artist since then, including a win for Best Rap Album for  IGOR at the 2020 Grammy Awards, and the recent release of his sixth studio album,  Call Me If You Get Lost .

In a review of the record,  Rolling Stone noted that, “Tyler’s greatest gift continues to be his inability to do anything predictable. Where some artists make a concerted effort to  surprise their fans with off-beat collaborations, Tyler’s entire ethos is built around bringing outsiders into his world, forcing them to shed the artifice of personal branding for the length of a verse.”

Tickets to previously-announced shows and the two new shows are on sale today, Thursday, September 2nd via Frontier Touring .

Tyler, The Creator Is Coming to Australia and New Zealand for an Arena Tour Next Winter

While it's been a long time between drinks for international tours here in Australia, overseas artists are beginning to pencil in dates for Australian shows next year. With our vaccination rate on the rise, and Prime Minister Scott Morrison announcing a roadmap towards opening up our borders, 2022 tours are beginning to feel a little more possible.

So far, Lorde has locked in February and March dates off the back of her just-dropped album Solar Power, and Splendour in the Grass is shooting for a return next July with three international headliners on the cards. One of those headliners is US hip-hop and fashion trailblazer Tyler, The Creator who has now revealed plans for his own headline tour around Australia and New Zealand in 2022.

Tyler, The Creator has announced a set of tour dates alongside his appearance at Splendour's 20th-anniversary festival to support the release of his latest album Call Me If You Get Lost.  Australian and New Zealand fans can catch the genre-bending album, which features collaborations with the likes of DJ Drama, Lil Wayne and Pharrell Williams, performed alongside back-catalogue hits from Tyler at four dates throughout July and August.

The tour will kick off at Auckland's Spark Arena on Friday, July 22, before heading across the ditch to land at Perth's RAC Arena on Tuesday, July 26. This will be followed by performances at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on Friday, July 29 and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday, August 2. Accompanying the hip-hop favourite on tour will be R'n'B singer-songwriter and frequent Tyler, The Creator collaborator Kali Uchis.

The last time Tyler graced Australian shores was for a series of festival appearances over New Years 2020/21, hitting up the likes of Beyond the Valley and Field Day . The upcoming 2022 arena tour will, however, mark Tyler, The Creator's first set of headline shows down under in over eight years.

tyler the creator australia tour

Tyler, the Creator has grown immensely as a performer and is not only capable of commanding an entire arena with just a – highly polished – stage design, a microphone and a ridiculous amount of energy. In 2022, the 31-year-old musician adds something to the confidence he’s so clearly expressed since he first stomped onto the scene as the de-facto leader of Odd Future – sophistication. Tyler’s show is stylish, sophisticated and well-rehearsed, harnessing the chaos that once kept him from being taken too seriously and using that to power what is genuinely a headline-worthy show.

I feel like I’m qualified to write that.

While I can’t profess to be as hardcore a Tyler fan compared to most of the crowd packing the undersold Qudos Bank Arena, I’ve not only seen the man live about four times, I saw him shortly after he first burst onto the scene. In a rather messy fashion, Tyler and almost all of Odd Future packed into the Sydney Opera House for Vivid Live the same year “Yonkers” turned into such a massive underground hit. This was shortly after the talk-show performance of “Sandwitches” that drew all types of music fans towards the group.

That show, deep into the bowels of Sydney Opera House at The Studio was a mess. It was exactly the mess fans of Odd Future’s bare-bones, pragmatic hip hop wanted and while we all screamed “wolf. gang. wolf. gang.” at the top of our lungs like it was some sort of death metal concert, it was clear these kids didn’t really give a fuck about anything but hyping the crowd up.

Then something changed with Odd Future. As more and more artists from the collective began to establish their own identities, perception started to evolve. These were art school kids as much as a Pharrell Williams or a J Dilla. Thoughtful, musically inclined and considered. Frank Ocean shot ahead of everyone else, but artists like Syd tha Kid and Earl Sweatshirt echoed just how credible this collective was becoming.

With Goblin and Wolf , Tyler was quickly establishing himself as the edgy rapper of the 21st century, blessed with a bass-heavy baritone voice that he’d use in some uncomfortably honest raps. His unfiltered approach landed him in hot water more than a few times, making Tyler an OG victim of what is now known as cancel culture, targeted by infantilised go-gooders who quickly discovered that social ostracism and boycotting could be weaponised as long as you exaggerated how offended you were about something.

As such, the man was even banned from performing in Australia for years, sparking an intellectually lazy and incredibly boring debate about separating art from the artist. This happened at a time when the Australian music industry was, in an effort to be more “inclusive,” more than happy to overstretch a sense of thinly-veiled virtue, upheld by media who were steadily profiting on progressive politics. The Tyler ban lasted for years, unquestioned by an increasingly overzealous culture of performative wokeness.

Fan-favouite Flower Boy followed, showcasing a Tyler that had clearly been influenced by the boundless creativity that surrounded him. It was musically credible, calmer, more thoughtful and dynamic. Quite quickly, the once one-dimensional rapper became much like another emcee from the same era who was also showing a tremendous amount of growth – the late Mac Miller.

Both Tyler and Mac had similar musical trajectories, in that their musical outlook expanded and showed actual growth from album to album. Both careers were defined by a sense of exploration, which makes it no surprise that Tyler’s latest project, Call Me If You Get Lost is themed on travel.

Not just that but his stage design is themed on travel, looking like a constantly evolving series of landscapes as Tyler takes us through an idyllic Camp Flog Gnaw. Serving as something of a hiker performing at the top of mountaintops, at times laying underneath the stars and even directing chaos as rolling pastures are burnt to the ground.

While watching him dance his way across the stage to the funky “Wusyaname” and express the soul of R&B-inflected Flower Boy cuts “911 / Mr Lonely” and “See You Again,” I can’t help but compare Tyler now to Tyler as I first saw him. The growth is not just significant, it’s admirable.

But don’t think there was plenty of chaos. Tyler could never blanket a show with softer jams and so he took us travelling throughout his entire career, segmenting the crowd-pleasing set list by album starting with the latest and working his way through to the Grammy-winning Igor . With older songs like “She” and “Yonkers” wedged in and almost brushed over, you can clearly hear how more comfortable Tyler is when his productions rely more on instrumentation.

While “Runitup” put a fairly middling cap on the night, the centrepiece was the hellish bass of “NEW MAGIC WAND” and you can tell Tyler thoroughly enjoys performing this as much as the crowd enjoyed jumping around to it. The almost punkish anthem, a complete mirror opposite to “Earfquake”, was the true close of the show and one final burst of energy felt across the entire arena.

Mo'Nique Reportedly Called Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey 'C**n Motherf*kers' During Stand-Up Rant

Mo'Nique still has problems with Perry and Winfrey, 15 years after the duo allegedly had the actress-comedian blacklisted from Hollywood.

Mo'Nique continues to hold a grudge against Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey as seen (and heard) in a recent stand-up rant.

During a spot as the opener on Katt Williams ' "Dark Matter" Tour, Mo'Nique slammed the billionaires in a rant that she even asked the audience to repeat. "Fuck you, Oprah Winfrey! Fuck you, Tyler Perry!" she shouted at the beginning of the clip below. "Fuck them c**n motherfuckers! I said it, n***a, say it with me!"

When noticing that some people in the crowd were "scared" and didn't want to say Mo'Nique's chant, she mocked them, saying, "I love that Black raggedy bitch. I love that Black simple-minded motherfucker. I love Oprah Winfrey's Black ass. And we just need to bring her back to Black."

After asking one person, named Melvin, if they're an Oprah Winfrey fan, they seemed to confirm it, but Mo'Nique said, "Okay, well I'm not apologizing for any motherfucking thing I say."

"We need you to help us bring that bitch back to Black. I need you to bend her the fuck and fuck her like a Nashville, Tenessee n***a would, and bring that bitch back to Black," Mo told Melvin.

Mo'Nique makes audience call Oprah and Tyler Perry"coon motherf**kers!" while she is filmed still going off on Oprah and Tyler Perry during Katt Williams' tour. pic.twitter.com/ymYbSs64w3 — The Art Of Dialogue (@ArtOfDialogue_) May 1, 2024

Mo'Nique went on to allege that Winfrey and her best friend, TV personality Gayle King , are lovers, saying, "I've never seen best friends like that."

"We ain't seen Stedman [Graham] in 30 motherfucking years," she added. "Who is loving Oprah and Gayle King? Each other! But we don't want to say the shit out loud. I'm too motherfucking old to be scared of this bitch. I'm too motherfucking old to be intimidated by this bitch. I'm too old to hold the motherfucking truth."

She continued, "You know why I fuck with Oprah Winfrey, Melvin? 'Cause that bitch tried to fuck with me privately. But I'm a public bitch. You try to fuck with me behind closed doors, bitch open the door up. Ding-dong, I'm gonna let your motherfucking ass in. Now are you gonna fuck her or not?"

The rant might have a little something to do with Mo'Nique allegedly being "blackballed" after not partaking in unpaid promotion for 2009 film Precious , which Winfrey and Perry were executive producers for.

In Februrary, Mo'Nique discussed her long-running issues with the two in an episode of Shannon Sharpe 's podcast Club Shay Shay .

Additionally, the band has shared the video for the new single “ RONALD (Feat. Tech N9ne and Alex Terrible) .” Watch it  here .

The 2x platinum smash “ Popular Monster ” and the album of the same name couldn’t have come from anyone else but  Ronnie Radke , who produced the album alongside Tyler Smith.   Both  Kerrang!  and  Revolver Magazine  counted the charismatic Las Vegas-born frontman and bandleader among “the greatest living rockstars.” The album arrives with several RIAA certified singles, which have been released over time since 2018. “Popular Monster” is certified 2x Platinum. while “Zombified,” “Voices In My Head,” and “Watching the World Burn” are all certified Gold.

ABOUT FALLING IN REVERSE +  POPULAR MONSTER: FALLING IN REVERSE return with 2024’s  Popular Monster , the postmodern trailblazer’s first full-length in seven years. The album arrives armed with no less than three RIAA-certified gold singles (“ZOMBIFIED,” “Voices in My Head,” “Watch the World Burn”), the double-platinum title track, a reimagined nü-metal classic, and six brand new anthems of furious metal, melody, and hip-hop.

Popular Monster  is a defiant statement and triumphant victory for singer, songwriter, bandleader, and provocateur Ronnie Radke, who invented Falling In Reverse inside a prison cell.

Radke fills the fifth full-length from Falling In Reverse with invincible and irresistible songs that resonate across generations and genres. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Tyler Smyth (I Prevail, Lights),  Popular Monster  is full of confessional angst, bravado, and clever wordplay.

Ronnie formed a series of pop-punk bands in Las Vegas as a teenager, culminating in the creation of Escape The Fate. The metalcore group’s meteoric rise coincided with the singer’s spiral into addiction. By the time he was sentenced to two years in prison, the band he started had moved on without him. Some fans, critics, and industry types figured his story would end there.

They were very wrong.

The gold-certified debut album from Falling In Reverse,  The Drug In Me Is You  (2011), arrived less than two years after Ronnie’s release. Thanks to his formative fascinations with metal, punk, and hip-hop, he almost single-handedly revived rap rock with the ambitious  Fashionably Late  (2013).  Just Like You  (2015), debuted in the Top 5 on the US Rock chart. The grungy and atmospheric  Coming Home  (2017) demonstrated yet another adventurous side of Radke’s self-expression.

“Losing My Mind” and “Losing My Life” surprised the so-called “scene” all over again in 2018 when he became the first of his peers to swerve from the album format to standalone singles. “Drugs” explored the American substance abuse epidemic and channeled Ronnie’s own heartbreak.

The massive “Popular Monster” became Ronnie’s first No. 1 song on the radio and his first platinum single less than two years after its release. It was also the first No. 1 song on  Billboard’ s inaugural Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, which considers airplay, streaming, and downloads. “Popular Monster” eventually went double-platinum in the US and 3x platinum in Australia. “ZOMBIFIED” and “Voices In My Head” went to No. 1 back-to-back. “Voices In My Head” was also the No. 1 Song of 2022 at SiriusXM’s Octane. The unconventional, caustic, and super heavy “Watch the World Burn” dominated rock radio in 2023 and improbably became his first  Billboard   Hot 100  song.

As with the top-notch producers and directors Ronnie has hired to help execute his vision, he’d regularly surrounded himself with incredible live players, resulting in unforgettable performances with various lineups over the years. Radke owns the stage, whether taking the Warped Tour mantle held by My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, and Fall Out Boy in the tour’s final years, performing in prominent spots on every major rock festival, or on massive headlining treks.

Popular Monster , the album, marks another chapter in the ongoing story of an artist who continually beats the odds, surmounting obstacles (and adversaries) both within and without.

“Radke stands as one of this generation’s most revered rock frontmen,” wrote the esteemed  Forbes Magazine  in a 2020 profile. “And maybe even one of the scene’s last true rockstars.”
