On all of our walking food tours, you will get to try a variety of foods from 4-5 unique local establishments in a 2-3 hour time span. We always advise you to come hungry, wear comfortable shoes and an elastic waistband.

San Diego boasts some of the best Mexican cuisine in the United States. Every local knows Pacific Beach is the place to be on any given Tuesday, better known as Taco Tuesday. Here is a list of the spiciest spots to celebrate our favorite weekly holiday.

Pacific Beach Fish Shop

The Pacific Beach Fish Shop was voted “Best Seafood in California” for a reason. They offer some of the freshest fish in Pacific Beach and boast a wide variety of them at that. Select your main from over ten options of fish ranging from Red Snapper to Ahi. Then, customize your order by choosing your marinade and the style your catch is served (we suggest the tacos). If you aren’t sure what you’d like, go with one of their Fish Shop Favorites like their award-winning TKO Taco.

Local Tip: Head back on Thursday for their $1 Oyster Bar!

Tacos Mimi is the new kid on the block and they’re bringin’ the heat! They’ve earned themselves a 5-star rating on Yelp from over 100 people raving about them and their food. If you are still skeptical, their soft, hand-made corn tortillas, their cooked-to-order meats, and delicious homemade guac speak for themselves. This place is a must-visit stop on your Taco Tuesday Tour.

Local Tip: Seating is limited at Tacos Mimi, try taking your tacos to go and bringing them to the beach which only a couple blocks away!

El Prez encompasses the coastal San Diego vibe perfectly with a focus on sunshine, tequila, and, of course, tacos. On Tuesday’s, you’ll be welcomed with $3-$5 tacos, $3 Mexican drafts, $5 margaritas, and $6 Don Julio. Enjoy music, drinks, dancing at their rooftop bar and patio, and if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a stunning San Diego sunset.

We love diving in to Taco Tuesday at The Duck Dive for their infamous specials. After 9pm, you will find $2.50 micro brews, well drinks, and tacos! The Duck Dive offers a wide variety of unique tacos including tacos that feature poke, chicken strips and ceviche. Don’t forget to ask for their signature tequila crema on your taco!

Local Tip: This is often the first stop locals make so get there before 9 if you don’t want to wait in line!
