Our visit to Safari World Bangkok was really fun and unforgettable . We loved seeing the animals and the fantastic shows.

To get the best experience, try to visit both parks . We spent around 7 hours there .

We used a shuttle bus to get to the zoo since there’s no nearby BTS station.

We avoided the public bus because it’s slow. You can book the same shuttle bus we used here ; it’s fast and takes you straight to Safari World Bangkok .

This shuttle service includes a drive through the Safari Park , where you can see the feeding shows for lions and tigers up close . You won’t need to pay extra for a coach bus ride to enjoy these experiences.

4. Directions: How to Get There

Taxi / Grab

One way to get there is to take a taxi. The taxi fare will really depend on where you’re taking from and whether or not you can haggle down the prices. Nonetheless, it will cost you about 700 baht (20 USD) and double that for a round-trip. So, we recommend taking the taxi or grab to those who aren’t really on a budget and can afford to spend a few bucks more, or are traveling in big groups. Otherwise, we suggest you opt for other modes of transport.

Public Transport

If you’re a good navigator, public transport isn’t such a bad option either. Of course, it has its ups and downs but taking public transport will provide you with the opportunity to explore Bangkok up close and save you quite a few bucks on your trip!

👉 Check out our blog on How to Go to Safari World Bangkok by Public Transit for more.

Transfer Service

If you have any doubts about taking a taxi or public transport (as do some people in foreign countries), why not book a transfer service to take you there and back safely, without worrying about losing your way or getting overcharged? We offer all-inclusive packages which include a Safari World Bangkok ticket, a lunch buffet, and a round-trip transfer service at a bargain! You can even choose from two options: shared transfer service or private transfer service. Opt for a hassle-free trip to Safari World Bangkok and have all the fun you want!

Massive open-concept zoo is a combination of 2 large parks

safari world thailand animal

Though much has been said about Safari World Bangkok , when we heard this was Thailand’s biggest zoo, we weren’t quite sure on what to expect. Sure enough, when we finally got to take a look at the map, the park was absolutely massive and we didn’t even know where to begin!

safari world thailand animal

The zoo itself was split into 2 parks: Safari World and Marine Park, home to land animals and the beloved creatures of the sea respectively.

We observed that the park seemed to be well-loved by both tourists and locals alike. During our visit, we saw crowds of local students coming out of the marine park. It was definitely an endearing sight which brought back some nostalgic childhood memories of visiting the zoos back home.

safari world thailand animal

For potential guests, we’d definitely recommend coming in some comfy shoes as we had to navigate the park mostly by foot. So if you’re looking to make the most out of your visit, make sure to come prepared. I’m not sure about you, but I definitely exceeded my 10,000 step count goal that day.

safari world thailand animal

While there were so many pitstops we wished to make – from the giraffe terraces to bird menageries – we had arrived just in time for their daily Sealion Show at 2PM. Not wanting to miss a minute of it, we rushed over. And boy, was it worth it.

Family-friendly animal shows & plenty of fun photo-ops

safari world thailand animal

Settling into the top most rows of a pretty packed arena, we waited with bated breath for the animal show to begin promptly on the dot. Once our main stars, an energetic pack of sealions swam – or waddled – onto the stage, they definitely stole the show in no time at all.

Just look at the fully-packed seats and everyone being absolutely captivated by the charming sealions performing!

safari world thailand animal

What we loved was that their smooth moves were accompanied by an upbeat playlist of funky music. The main characters – the sealions – also seemed to be treated with care by their trainers and were rewarded generously for performing tricks – like balancing a basketball on its nose like a pro-NBA player.

With the trio nailing every trick in the performance, it was hard not to be in awe of these majestic sea creatures as the show drew to a close.

But for us, it was onwards and quite literally upwards to our next exhibit, the Giraffe Terrace.

Close encounters with critters at the Giraffe Terrace & bird menagerie

safari world thailand animal

My experience here definitely re-defined “up close and personal” for me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be able to get so close to a giraffe, after having only seen them on Nat-Geo documentaries.

Guests will be able to feed these giraffes their favourite fruits using a bamboo stick if they so desire. Do note that you’ll have to pay a small fee at the entrance of the terrace, to get this chance.

safari world thailand animal

Even without us offering them fresh fruit, we found that the giraffes were incredibly tame and friendly. Just look at me enjoying my 1-on-1 time with this giraffe right here. Someone call me the animal whisperer right now.

safari world thailand animal

If you missed your chance to take a 1-to-1 picture with your desired animal however, keep a lookout for these impromptu photo-ops between enclosures. We stumbled upon this imposing bird on our way to the giraffe terrace, among many other wild beasts – patiently awaiting interactions with visitors along with their caregivers.

Getting to Safari World & ticket prices

safari world thailand animal

There’s a ton of things to do at Safari World Bangkok, so we’d recommend setting aside a full day to explore both parks thoroughly. In retrospect, we probably should have gone to the park a little earlier so that we could maximise our time there. Well, I guess you could learn from our mistakes, dear reader.

As for prices, expect entrance fees of ฿1,500 (~USD42) to visit both parks, if you want to spend an entire day here. If you’re looking to enjoy some deals, book your tickets in advance for pretty generous discounts.

The park is situated a little further from the city centre so you can consider getting a private hire car to bring you to the park or opt to take a taxi – like we did – to get here.

So here’s wishing you all the best on your zoological journey here at Safari World, especially to all the budding giraffe whisperers out there.

Safari World is a popular destination in Bangkok and attracts a lot of families, especially during weekends and public holidays. If you're planning a trip to Bangkok and want to visit Safari World, we would recommend that you make your visit during the weekdays. The crowd will be much lesser during weekdays since the local families would not be visiting the park.

Safari World is a mostly open attraction and involves a fair bit of walking around. We would recommend heading to the Safari Park as early as possible to avoid the sun. In the afternoon you can visit the Marine World and escape the sun for a bit. Overall, though, we would suggest visiting Bangkok and Safari World in December or January for the most pleasant weather. If you're planning to attend the live shows, make sure you're aware of their timings because some shows do overlap and you'll have to pick the one you wish to see more.

If ur visiting Bangkok with kids make sure u visit Safari World. It's a full day adventure park. It has a lot of activities to do with not a moment to spare. Make sure u reach here at opening time bcoz it gets too crowded plus all d shows are at fixed timings, if u miss them it's no use going here. Our personal favourite was the dolphin show and the spy show. Don't miss them. There's also elephant, orangutan, bird and a lot many shows. There's also a huge walk by zoo. As u walk from one show to another there's a lot of animals to see. There's giraffe feeding too. All in all a day full of entertainment and fun for d kids. Many tickets include lunch too. We ate at Indian restaurant. Food was good, amazing veg choices too. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes because it gets really hot due to the crowd. U cannot carry ur own water inside, have to buy it from their stalls. Carry sunglasses too.

If you want to see different animals trained in the art of entertainment, then safari world and marine park is one to visit. Such nice animals including giraffes, elephants, walrus, seals and many more open for interacting with people. More dangerous animals available for viewing behind safe measures. Multie shows throughout the day including a boxing match between Orangutans. Definitely a good day spender.
