Ms. Lauryn Hill, the Fugees Extend ‘Miseducation Anniversary Tour' With 2024 Dates

Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Fugees have extended their "Miseducation Anniversary Tour" with a 21-date run slated to launch in August.

The new North American leg will kick off Aug. 9 in Tampa, Florida, at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre and run through Sept. 21 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The shows will feature co-headlining sets from Hill and the Fugees as they perform tracks from The Miseducation of Ms. Lauryn Hill , The Score , and more. YG Marley will provide support throughout the run.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale June 28 at 10 a.m. local time, while a pre-sale will open to Citi cardholders starting tomorrow, June 25. Full info is available via Live Nation . 

Hill and the Fugees launched the "Miseducation Anniversary Tour" last year to coincide with the actual 25th anniversary of Hill's landmark 1998 solo album. Prior to the tour, the Fugees reunited at the Roots Picnic in June 2023 , marking the first time the trio - Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel - performed together since a 2021 one-off concert in New York City.

Last year's tour, however, was ultimately hit with a handful of cancellations after Hill suffered vocal strain. She later took a break from the road altogether , explaining to fans, "In order to prevent any long-term negative effect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely."

Hill has since returned to the road this year, playing a handful of shows in the Middle East, as well as Jamaica, Europe, Canada, and Las Vegas, In May, she and YG Marley performed on The Tonight Show , and the pair are set to take the stage again together at the BET Awards on June 30.

Wave your hands in the air, because ready or not, here they come again: Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Fugees are going back on a joint tour! The 21-date trek, announced on Monday (June 24), will mostly play in the United States before wrapping up with four dates overseas.

According to the press release, $2 from each ticket sold will go to the MLH fund, which benefits organizations that provide resources for mental health issues, women’s wellness, small business development, education and more.

The Miseducation Anniversary Tour was previously postponed in November due to Hill experiencing vocal issues. “As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “In order to prevent any long term negative affect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely.”

“The shows that were cancelled this year will be rescheduled for early 2024 AND because of the overwhelming response, we’ll be adding new cities to the tour, including overseas,” she added at the time.

Def Leppard, Journey team for stadium tour: 'We may have a surprise or two up our sleeves'

The anthems will be loud and frequent when Journey and Def Leppard take a spin through stadiums this summer.

The rock powerhouses are teaming for a 23-city tour that will kick off July 6, 2024, at Busch Stadium in St. Louis and wrap Sept. 8 at Coors Field in Denver.

While the bands have a stockpile of smashes including “Any Way You Want It,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Photograph” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” respectively, they’ll also be joined by fellow hitmakers Steve Miller Band , Heart and Cheap Trick in varying markets (see list below).

Registration for presale tickets begins at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on Dec. 7 at www.defleppardjourney2024.com .

A presale for Citi cardholders kicks off at 10 a.m. local time on Dec. 13 via www.citientertainment.com . The general public sale begins at 10 a.m. local time on Dec. 15.

Both Journey and Def Leppard have been road warriors lately. Def Leppard played a sold-out stadium run in summer 2022 with Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and continued a worldwide tour with Motley Crue in 2023.

Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott shared that the band's set will celebrate specific parts of the rockers' history. "We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves," he said in a statement.

Journey recently announced a spate of 2024 dates for their 50 th anniversary Freedom tour, which will play arenas across the U.S. between Feb. 9 and April 29.

Cult of Luna (formed in 1998) is a Swedish post/progressive metal band who achieved their big breakthrough in 2004 with their third album “Salvation” – hailing from Umeå, Sweden.

From the ashes of former hardcore band Eclipse arrived the Umeå-based doom metal band Cult of Luna in 1998. Initially drenched in the aggressive, violent style of doom metal, which can be heard on the band’s debut, self-titled album, Cult of Luna’s musical direction has since been driven by a focus on orchestration synonymous with post-metal. Despite making waves within the metal genre, the band’s debut failed to significantly raise Cult of Luna’s profile, however gave hints to the extolled and progressive nature of music yet to come.

The band’s sophomore album, “The Beyond”, highlighted Cult of Luna’s staying power, and was recorded with vocalist Klas Rydberg, guitarists Erik Olofsson and Johannes Persson, bassist Andreas Johansson, keyboardist Magnus Lindberg, and drummer Marco Hilden. Moving away from the anger aimed at modern society as a whole, toward anger at an elite, ruling class, Cult of Luna’s third album “Salvation” also dropped a number of doom metal themes in favour of instrumental, post-metal influences. Dubbed the band’s big breakthrough, the record became critically acclaimed and rose Cult of Luna to the heights of metal.

Two years later the band issued their fourth full-length album “Somewhere Along the Highway”, which proved Cult of Luna’s first charting album. Rising to No. 59 on the Swedish Albums Chart the record is seen as a seminal album for American contemporaries Neurosis and Isis. Two years later Cult of Luna returned to the charts with their fifth studio album “Eternal Kingdom” in 2008. Peaking at No. 47 on the Swedish Albums Chart, the record later earned a Grammisgalan nomination for Best Rock Band. Like its predecessors the album was extolled by critics and paved the way for their highest-charting album to date “Vertiakl” in 2013.

Not familiar with their music but in the faithful hands of a mate who grabbed two tickets, I attended this show not really sure what to expect other than being away Cult of Luna would be playing Somewhere Along the Highway in its entirety to celebrate its 10th anniversary. I cannot believe whilst checking out their back catalogue I didn't get round to listening to it prior to this evening.

But let's start with the support. Usually I find that the sound of support groups is not quite as crisp as the main act for that evening. Tonight was one of those exceptions.

Moloken certainly grabbed our attention and surpassed my expectations having listened to some of the stuff beforehand. They set a high standard for the night.

Bossk continued this standard for the second part of the evening, also not failing to disappoint.

Cult of Luna just blew my mind. Having just listened to their latest release, Mariner, I was already intrigued by what the night had in store. All I can say is I was mezmerised from start to finish.

A superb performance in a superb venue. Topped off being surround by a superb sellout crowd. No over-inflated egos on the floor or on the stage.

Each band played like it was their headline gig that evening, not giving it anything less than 110%.

Though there are still a few more gigs to attend this year, for us tonight is a strong contender for gig of the year (from the gigs that we will be attending this year)

With an ominous namesake and equally evocative sound, heavy metal outfit Cult of Luna have achieved notoriety that stretches far from their native Sweden. After the breakthrough release of 'Salvation' the seven piece have taken off around the globe to reach the ever expanding fanbase. As the group were originally known as an underground cult outfit, they still seem to perform as though there are only a few people in the room and they are jamming out.

This is great to see though as it feels like regardless of the size of the venue, there is a sense of intimacy when watching this group perform. There are more exterior production techniques adopted during 'Ghost Trail' as lights flail wildly over the crowds as they cheer and head bang along with the band. The sheer energy given seems to be the fuel to the blistering instrumentals as each member throws themselves into the performance. It is fantastic to see a band really care about the show and the gig as it feels like they are consistently trying to achieve a new personal best. If the cheers and applause at the finale of 'In Awe Of' are anything to go by it would seem they have achieved it.

Amazing gig!! Possibly an early contender for gig of the year. 2 great supports in Moloken & Bossk to warm the crowd up, but nearly 2 hours of Cult of Luna was what I came for & they didn't dissapoint. The 10 years since they launched their album, Somewhere Along The Highway has flown by, but to see it played in full live

was awesome. The 1st set where they played a variety of their back catalogue was also very good, even if they missed out a track from my favourite album of their's: The Beyond. A definite 10/10.

Amaaaaaaaaaazing!

I am no groupie or crazy fan but these guys can play better than any band I've seen in a while. Perfect balance of instrumental and vocals.
