KEMBA Live!
The multimedia project Kraftwerk was started in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. They set up their electronic Kling Klang Studio in Düsseldorf, Germany, where they conceived and produced all Kraftwerk albums. By the mid 1970’s Kraftwerk had achieved international recognition for their revolutionary electronic ssoundscapes and their musical experimentation with robotics and other technical innovations. With their visions of the future, Kraftwerk created the soundtrack for the digital age of the 21st century. Their compositions, using innovative techniques, synthetic voices and computerised rhythms, have had a major international influence across an entire range of music genres: from electro to hip hop, from techno to synthpop.
In their live performances, Kraftwerk – Ralf Hütter, Henning Schmitz, Fritz Hilpert, Falk Grieffenhagen – illustrate their belief in the respective contributions of both man and machine.
Starting with the retrospective of their Catalogue at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2012, in recent years Kraftwerk have returned full circle back to their origins within the Düsseldorf art scene of the late Sixties. Bringing together music and perfomance art, their 3-D concerts are a true "Gesamtkunstwerk – a total work of art.” The concert series at the MoMA was - among others - followed by further presentations at Tate Modern Turbine Hall in London, Akasaka Blitz in Tokyo, the Opera House in Sydney, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin.
In 2014 Ralf Hütter and his former partner were honoured with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kraftwerk at the met - philly.
This was my second time seeing the legendary band, Kraftwerk! Absolutely STELLAR performance and sound! The 3-D visuals are stunning! A totally uplifting musical experience!!
Loud but great
Kraftwerk was great. Excellent visuals, great songs. No crowd interaction or banter, but that’s not what they are known for. It was four dudes on stage playing great music with amazing visuals. What more can you ask for? Other reviews complained about the show at other venues being too quiet, but I promise this was not the case at the Paramount. In fact, this was one of the loudest shows I’ve ever been to with levels of over 113dB at times! The bass at points was bone shaking. If you see Kraftwerk at the Paramount again, make sure you bring solid ear protection.
Kraftwerk and The Anthem = AMAZING
We loved the 3-d aspect of the show, and the music was fantastic. I highly recommend the Anthem, it's a great place to see a concert, very well run and the sound was amazing.
Good except phones
A great gig from a wonderful band. I just wish the venue would have told the audience not to take photos. It is so infuriating to watching a show with phone lights everywhere. Grow up and live in the moment
Fantastic show
Fantastic show The 3-D was amazing Kraftwerk was wonderful as always this was the third time I’ve seen Kraftwerk and it was in the Orpheum is one of the best venues in Vancouver. Thanks
Amazing concert!
I got these tickets for my dad for Xmas and I was not a fan of the band then. Now I definitely am, the fact that it was a 3D concert was so cool! The visual effects made the concert more worthwhile. The Orpheum was also a beautiful venue.

Amazing concert
The fact that it was 3D was so cool. i got these tickets for my dad for Xmas and wasn’t really a fan of Kraftwerk at the time, but now I definitely am! the seats were very comfortable as well for watching the concert.
I follow Kraftwerk since 1975. Not even in my wildest dreams I thought to see them in concert, but 47 years later I was at the Paramount in Seattle seeing Kraftwerk Live. Forty years ago Kraftwerk music was more like...mmm..music for 'your brain''...kind'a relax, but now, same songs but with a dancing rhythim. The show was fantastic. Thank you Kraftwerk and ticketmaster.
Kraftwerk in the Paramount Seattle

Kraftwerk is a German electronic music band that formed in 1970 in Dusseldorf, Germany. They are often cited as being pioneers in the music industry for popularising electronic music.
Kraftwerk was formed by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider in 1970 and fronted by the pair until Schneider’s departure from the band in 2008. Besides Hutter, the other current members of Kraftwerk include Fritz Hilpert, Henning Schmitz and Falk Grieffenhagen.
Kraftwerk’s first three albums, which were relatively unknown at the time of production, were in the style of free-form experimental rock and lacked the pop hooks and structure of their later work. The band used these early records in order to experiment with their style, using a variety of instruments including guitar, bass, drums, electric organ, flute and violin. It wasn’t until 1974 that Kraftwerk achieved international breakthrough with their music.
The release of their album ‘Autobahn’ in 1974 marked a new era in the band’s career. It peaked at number five in the USA’s Billboard Top 200 chart, achieving enormous mainstream success. The accompanying tour took the band across the globe, including to the UK for the first time. This led to the band later touring with British legend David Bowie, who was so impressed with the band that he asked them to support his tour.
The band has proved a massive influence on the music industry, due to their innovative style. NME compared the band to the Beatles in terms of influence and importance in music. Their use of electronics has influenced musician from Coldplay, who had to ask permission to borrow a melody they created for one of their tracks, to Depeche Mode.
Kraftwerk are known for being notoriously reclusive, shutting themselves off with their music and keeping extremely private concerning new technological advances in their music. Kraftwerk are known for their rare and enigmatic interviews, for using life-size mannequins and robots in official photo shoots, refusing to accept fan mail and not allowing visitors at their studio.
Kraftwerk has released a great number of songs during its time, and continue to do so. Just a few of their hits include ‘Die Roboter’, ‘The Model’, ‘Tour de France’ and ‘Radioactivity’. In January 2014 Kraftwerk was awarded the great honour of a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Grammys.
Live reviews
This is odd.
Why would I write a review of this show for for free?
I mean, music journalism is a job. There's professionals that do it for a living. Yet songkick expect me to spend my time and creativity generating content for them to attract other users.
I suppose Songkick will then ask those unwitting victims to slave over a keyboard for no reward and perpetuate the culture of unpaid work that only serves to cheapen music criticism we should all cherish.
I will not take money out of the pocket and food off the table of journalists forced to scrape for what minimal pay they can from a dwindling base of music publications that are only just able to continue charging for their valuable insight.
I mean, who am I? No-one could place any value in a word of what I write. It would serve no purpose whatsoever for me to give my amateur opinion of a band about who millions of words have already been written when no-one has any context on which to base my thoughts. I could be a complete buffoon. I could like Crazy frog as much as Kraftwerk.
OK, here you are. I went to see Kraftwerk and Kraftwerk was good. There was some mistakes but they were still good.
There you are. Now lets see how that settles into the cannon of great criticism.
Lester Bangs will be spinning in his grave.

The show was fantastic. No opener, a 2+ hour set, lots of deep cuts, and a thoroughly entertaining performance.
As is to be expected, Kraftwerk are not particularly visually compelling as humans standing in front of synthesizer stands, but the rich 3D visuals on the screens in addition to the lights gave plenty to accompany the music.
After finishing the main set, Kraftwerk left the stage and the curtains closed for the obligatory encore fanfare... However, a nice curveball - when the curtains reopened, the members had been replaced by their red-and-grey robot counterparts for a brilliant novelty performance of one of their most well-known pieces, "Robots." After that, the members came back out and did a few more songs before winding down with a "jam" of sorts where each member got a minor solo segment before exiting the stage.
Only minor complaints: an annoying buzzing for the second half of the show in a speaker near me, but that is the Ryman's fault, not the band's. The merch was disappointing for a band with song strong visuals (no show poster, slim selection of t-shirts, no media at all). And finally, Autobahn is great, but an extended version just goes too damn long for a live setting.
However, it was a top-notch show, highly recommended.
When I saw these legends at a festival recently, I too saw the comparisons to Daft Punk. A seminal act formed in the 70s, they would certainly go on to influence dozens of electronic acts such as Daft Punk, Gary Numan, and OMD.
Seeing them live is such a feast for the eyes and ears. Having recently revamped their visual show, they had original avant-garde films playing in the background which astounded me. The four members stood still and mastered their electronic instruments as if they were from the planet Krypton and have graced us with their presence. Anyone with an interest in future design of artificial intelligence, should attend one of these shows!
Also, if you're a fan of Daft Punk, you might enjoy this show. The music inspired the crowd throughout and when “Man-Machine” was introduced the crowd went nuts. This music did not inspire dancing in the conventional sense, but the crowd moved and it clearly affected them. When I looked around, the crowd seemed to be enjoying this visual art show accompanied by the legendary act. It’s rare to attend a show where the visuals and music marry so well together, but Kraftwerk make it look easy.
Very impressed by the Kraftwerk Concerts at the Fondation Louis Vuitton as part of the 8 days set with one album per day. Every concert delivers and extensive 25+ titles playlist giving a 2h+ concert, covering all of the songs of the album for the given day (I saw « The Man Machine » and « Computer World ») and then a very strong set of the best of the band, with the best of Autobahn, Trans Europe Express , Radio Activity, Man Machine, Computer World, Techno Pop and Tour de France covered systematically. The very good 3D movies projected in the back of the band, obviously under their full artistic direction, make it a unique experience. Sound quality is exceptional, and a truly live feeling emerges despite the electronic nature of the music. Also, the songs are often customized for the location/audience, with for instance a fully french version of « Showroom Dummies » retitled « Les Mannequins ». It should be noted that about 70% of the sets are similar from one day to the next, so seeing more than one (or the full 8 days catalogue) is truly for fans only.
Tuesday 29 September 2015, the Olympia theater in Miami, FL, US.
3D show. Excellent show, quiet and respectful audience, almost no dancing, lots of video/pictures taken. Encore 1 ("der roboter") was very disappointing but appropriate in that it was basically "the robots" played over the PA while the mannequins rotated onstage.
"Numbers", "Computer World", "It's More Fun to Compute" / "Home Computer", "Computer Love", "Pocket Calculator", "The Man Machine", "Spacelab", "The Model", "Neon Lights", "Autobahn", "Airwaves", "Intermission/News", "Geiger Counter" / "Radioactivity" (2012 version), "Tour de France" / "Tour de France Étape 1" / "Tour de France Étape 2", "Trans-Europe Express" / "Metal on Metal" / "Abzug"
Encore 1: "The Robots"
Encore 2: "Planet of Visions", "Boing Boom Tschak" / "Techno Pop" / "Musique Non Stop"
A magnificent income hall was a preludo to a fantastic 3d performance of Kraftwerk, 1 of the pioneers of modern music. Images seem to get over and through you, the music was astonishing as always. Goosebumps where present when "Radioactivity" came on, "Comet Melody 2" was also very catchy and housy and made you wanna dance ! The robots as 1 bis number was real hard techno, as were several other numbers, great !
This was a wonderfum concert, which we will never 4get !
It was as perfect a show as it was expected. I was seated where I booked. Local signalling was efficient. The stage well seen. The loudspeakers just as loud as necessary.
The band started off with both 3D screen effects and electronic music. They played their biggest hits one after the other, for my utmost enjoyment. After being recalled, they played 4 songs, ending up with a remarkable series of solos. It was simply grandiose and well organised.
The KRAFTWERK 3D show was just amazing! I would highly recommend that anyone that is anywhere near to one of these shows move heaven and earth to attend, they will not be disappointed! I saw them once ten years ago and was unsure on how they could top their previous work, but the addition of the 3D visuals just puts it over the top!
I heard my first Kraftwerk track when I was eleven years old.
After forty years of never being able to get a ticket for a show, thanks to Songkick I was lucky enough to get a ticket for Brighton.
All I can say is after a forty year wait......they did not disappoint.
I had so many spine tingling moments......a wonderful night.

Kraftwerk Bringing Immersive ‘3-D Concerts’ Back to North America in 2022
By Jon Blistein
Jon Blistein
Kraftwerk will return with their immersive “3-D concerts” for a North American tour next summer.
The 2022 trek will kick off May 27 at the Pageant in St. Louis, Missouri, and wrap July 10 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, Nov. 5 , at 10 a.m. local time. A pre-sale for American Express cardholders in select markets will run from Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. local time through Nov. 4 at 10 p.m. local time. Full information is available on Kraftwerk’s website .
Kraftwerk had originally planned to embark on a “3-D concert” tour of North America back in 2020 , coinciding with the pioneering electronic group’s 50th anniversary, but the run was called off due to the pandemic. The shows — which began after a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and have evolved since — combine Kraftwerk’s music with three-dimensional visuals and performance art.

“Our music is changing in time, so we always play different versions; sometimes we change the tempos and sound,” Kraftwerk’s lead singer and keyboardist Ralf Hütter told Rolling Stone of the 3-D concerts prior to the group’s 2015 U.S. tour. “Sometimes there’s different traffic on the autobahn. It’s all real. That’s what makes it interesting. Our compositions are like minimalistic film scripts or theater scripts. We can work with this; it’s never going to be the same. It changes over the years.”
Over the weekend, Kraftwerk were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with longtime fan Pharrell Williams paying tribute to the group. “Today, electronic music is everywhere,” Pharrell said. “But what Kraftwerk did was groundbreaking and revolutionary.”
