Future Islands have announced a U.S. tour in support of their most recent album, As Long as You Are .

The Calling Out in Space tour is set to launch September 1st at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and wrap October 14th at the Anthem in Washington, D.C. For the first half of the tour, Future Islands will receive support from Hinds on select dates, while other shows will find the Baltimore synth-pop outfit opening for Modest Mouse . The U.K. and European run is set to follow in 2022.

Future Islands released As Long as You Are last October, marking their first album since their 2017 effort, The Far Field . Back in January, the band shared a performance from Baltimore’s Carroll Baldwin Memorial Hall as part of NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series, while the band also recently contributed to 4AD’s covers compilation , Bills and Aches and Blue .

Future Islands are preparing to hit the road across the US throughout Spring 2023.

The band will begin their next round of live shows on May 5th in Nashville before making stops in cities including Dallas, Oakland, Minneapolis, Chicago, and more, including appearances at both Shaky Knees and Just Like Heaven Festival . The 16-date trek will come to a close on May 25th in Asbury Park, New Jersey. JOON will open for Future Islands on the first half of the stretch, with Deeper then taking over afterwards as supporting act.

As for tickets, a  pre-sale begins this Wednesday, February 15th at 12:00 p.m. ET (use code TREEWAVE ), with general on-sale following this Friday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . Alternatively, tickets are available via  StubHub .

Future Islands offered us some yuletide cheer last November with a cover of Wham!’s classic “Last Christmas.” Their last album, As Long as You Are , came out in 2020.

Future Islands 2024 North American tour: Presale code, tickets, dates, venues, & all you need to know

A merican synth-pop band Future Islands has announced a North American tour scheduled to take place from June 19, 2024, to September 28, 2024, in venues across the United States and Canada. The tour, an extension of their previous international dates, is in support of their new album, People Who Aren't There Anymore , which was released on January 26, 2024.

Future Islands announced that the new tour will feature performances in cities such as New York City, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles, and more via a post on their official Instagram account on January 30, 2024.

Tickets for the new North American leg will be available via an artist presale from January 31 at 10 am local time (use access code PWATA). The general sale will go live at 10 am local time on Friday, February 2. Ticket prices have yet to be announced and could be purchased via Ticketmaster.

Future Islands 2024 North American tour dates

The band released their seventh studio album, People Who Aren't There Anymore, on January 26, 2024, via 4AD Records. The album was written and recorded during the pandemic. While chart figures are yet to be available for the album, critics have praised the band's work for its melancholic sound and themes, such as the dissolution of long-distance relationships during the lockdowns.

The North American leg of the Future Islands tour will begin in June, right after the band's extensive tour of Europe and the UK in May. Kicking off with a show at The Roadrunner in Boston on June 19, the band will perform ten more dates in the US before flying to Canada for shows in Toronto and Montreal.

Then Future Islands will resume their international tour with a show at the Latitude Festival in Suffolk, England , on July 26, with shows lined up until August. The North American leg will then resume with a show at the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver, followed by twelve other shows, concluding at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas on September 28.

Alongside the tour announcement, Future Islands also shared a new music video for the track The Thief from the album via their YouTube account on January 31, 2024.

Future Islands was formed in 2006 by the remaining Art Lord & the Self-Portraits members, a synth-pop band that disbanded the previous year. The original lineup of the band does not consist of any drummer. The band usually uses drum machines or hires drummers while on tour .

They had their breakthrough success with releasing the track Seasons (Waiting on You) in 2014. The lead track from their fourth album, Singles , quickly gained traction after it was named the Best Song of 2014 by music publications NME and Pitchfork.

The concert will take place at Aisle 5 on April 26th at 1123 Euclid Ave NE, Atlanta GA, 30307. The venue is in Little 5 Points. Aisle 5 offers customers free parking in the spaces adjacent to the building. If these spaces are unavailable, we encourage you to park in the large lot behind the facility; a parking lot attendant will assist you and the rate for this lot varies daily. Lastly, street parking is available on Euclid Avenue, although please be sure to pay the meter as these spaces are strictly enforced by Park Atlanta. As a courtesy to our neighbors and in accordance with city ordinances, PLEASE DO NOT park on Colquitt Avenue.

What safety measures are in place for the event?

Your safety is our top priority. Aisle 5 along with all bands are closely monitoring the situation and following all local health guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

I'm introverted and not comfortable attending large events. What should I do?

We understand that large gatherings aren't for everyone. Consider inviting a friend or attending with a smaller group to make the experience more comfortable. One of the sickest concerts I've ever been to! Felt so close to the band not only thanks to the great location but also thanks to the way they performed. Already loved the live versions of their songs on Spotify but to really see them live was even better!

ISLAND is one of my favorite bands and their live performances are the best! Although I didn't like the atmosphere of this particular concert that much due to the crowd and the location but the band itself was as unique and brilliant as always! :)

BATH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at 200 Congress Ave. and concludes at Library Park and will be followed by a wreath-laying service at 11 a.m.

BERWICK 11 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at Berwick Town Hall/Sullivan Square and proceeds to Lord’s Cemetery by way of Wilson and Allen streets. After a ceremony there, the parade will continue down Saw Mill Hill Street with a pause at the Somersworth-Berwick Bridge for a brief memorial service for those lost at sea. The parade ends at Sullivan Square with a memorial service honoring area veterans.

BIDDEFORD-SACO Opening ceremony at 9:55 a.m. Monday at Saco City Hall. Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Saco City Hall and proceeds along Main Street and down York Hill into Biddeford, continues along Main Street, onto Alfred Street and finishes at Veteran’s Memorial Park with a closing ceremony at 10:45 a.m.

BRUNSWICK-TOPSHAM 9 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from Topsham Town Hall, pauses for observances while crossing the Brunswick-Topsham bridge, and concludes at the Brunswick Mall.

CAPE ELIZABETH 9 a.m. Monday. Parade begins at the middle school parking lot, turns right on Scott Dyer Road, right onto Route 77 and ends at the village green adjacent to the town hall. A brief ceremony and laying of the wreath will be held at the Village Green after the parade.

CUMBERLAND 8 a.m. Monday. Kids run at Greely High School followed by 5K Run and Remember race at 8:30 a.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. at Mabel I. Wilson School and ends at the veterans’ monument in Moss Side Cemetery in Cumberland Center, where a ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Advertisement

FALMOUTH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from 65 Depot Road (Falmouth American Legion) to Pine Grove Park, where a ceremony will be held.

FREEPORT 9:30 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds from Holbrook Street, heads north on Main and makes a right onto School Street, then right onto Park Street, ending in Memorial Park. There will be a small ceremony in Memorial Park starting at 10 a.m.

GORHAM 11 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Village School (12 Robie St.) and ends at Eastern Cemetery on Johnson Road.

GRAY 11:30 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves the Russell School (8 Gray Park), proceeds to Shaker Road and continues to the Soldiers Monument at the intersection of Routes 26 and 3 for a wreath-laying ceremony. Parade continues north to the American Legion Post (15 Lewiston Road) for a closing ceremony.

LYMAN 1 p.m. Monday. Parade starts at Waterhouse Road/Mill Pond in Goodwins Mills and ends at the Lyman Town Hall on South Waterboro Road.

NEW GLOUCESTER 9 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves from Memorial Elementary School (86 Intervale Road) and heads down Intervale Road to Route 100/202 to Veterans Park for a memorial service. The parade will reconvene and go down Peacock Hill Road, then take a left on Gilmore Road. Advertisement

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1 p.m. Monday. Parade starts at the corner of Ballpark Way and E. Emerson Cumming Boulevard and proceeds down Saco Avenue, Old Orchard Beach Street to First Street and ends at Veteran’s Memorial Park.

PORTLAND 2 p.m. Monday. The procession starts at Longfellow School (432 Stevens Ave.) and ends at Evergreen Cemetery for a commemoration ceremony.

SANFORD 10 a.m. Monday. The parade starts at the Sanford Armory (88 William Oscar Emery Drive), proceeds up Gowen Park Drive and ends at Central Park.

SCARBOROUGH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Scarborough High School, turns onto Route 114 and then Route 1, past town offices to the Maine Veterans Home and concludes with a ceremony there.

SOUTH PORTLAND 10:30 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Southern Maine Community College parking lot, proceeds down Broadway to the Veterans Monument for a short Memorial Day recognition service.

WELLS 9 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Wells High School (200 Sanford Road) and proceeds to Ocean View Cemetery for a ceremony and musical performances. Advertisement

WESTBROOK 10 a.m. Monday. Parade proceeds down Main Street and will be followed by a ceremony in Riverbank Park.

WINDHAM 9 a.m. Monday. Parade starts at Windham Town Hall and proceeds onto Route 202 toward Windham High School. At 10 a.m., there will be a ceremony in front of Windham’s Veterans Memorial Flagpole at Windham High School.

YARMOUTH 10 a.m. Monday. Parade leaves from Yarmouth High School (286 West Elm St.) and proceeds to the Memorial Green at Town Hall for a ceremony.

YORK 10 a.m. Monday. Parade starts near St. Christopher’s Church (4 Barrell Lane) and proceeds down York Street to York Town Hall.
