The Tallest Man On Earth has unveiled plans for a UK tour this summer in support of his forthcoming album. Sweden-based Kristian Matsson - who has recorded two albums under his Tallest Man On Earth moniker - will release the third, ‘There’s No Leaving Now’, on June 11. It’ll come out through Dead Oceans, following on from 2010’s ‘The Wild Hunt’ and his 2008 debut ‘Shallow Grave’. The 28-year-old musician has also announced a number of summer live shows, including dates in London, Stockholm, and Amsterdam. He’ll play at the Hackney Empire on July 3, and the schedule will also see stops at Hop Farm and Green Man Festivals before a headline UK tour in October. Swedish singer-songwriter. Kristian Matsson, (aka The Tallest Man on Earth) is known for his charismatic stage presence. His tuneful indie folk is animated by rough and passionate vocals and poetic lyrics, bringing a soulful live show that deeply resonates with those in attendance.

In recent years, Matsson has undertaken single oriented projects, incorporating writing, producing, and self-releasing songs and videos at regular intervals. Finding inspiration in the process, the artist puts his thoughts into the world while still processing them himself.

The Tallest Man on Earth has extended his 2023 tour with a new North American leg this fall. He’s paired the tour announcement by unveiling “Henry St.,” the title track to his upcoming seven studio album.

Following a spring outing in the US and early summer leg in Europe, the Swedish folk singer-songwriter (aka Kristian Matsson) will embark on a 24-date run across North America that opens on September 5th in Durham, North Carolina. He’ll hit Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more before making it back to North Carolina to close the tour in Asheville on October 14th.

Tickets for the new 2023 tour dates go on sale Wednesday, March 8th at 9:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . Alternatively, browse for tickets and deals to every stop on The Tallest Man on Earth’s ongoing trek, including sold-out stints in Los Angeles and New York, via Stubhub — where orders are 100% guaranteed through Stubhub’s FanProtect program..

“Henry St.” will likely become a staple on every future live set. According to a statement from the singer, the raw, stripped-down single strikes at the big questions like “Why am I actually doing this?” while also marking a critical point on the new album. “It’s the low point and the turnaround,” he shared. “The other songs are a reminder that I will always be a stubborn optimist, even at the darkest of times.”

The song features Megafaun’s Phil Cook , who Matsson recalled was “hanging over my shoulders at the piano while we were playing, and then he recorded it. He improvised that beautiful outro. When he did, our jaws dropped — I was in tears.”

The accompanying music video follows an ongoing Jeroen Dankers-directed trilogy that began with the album’s lead single, “Every Little Heart,” and continues with a moody night stroll “inspired by adolescence. Doing stupid things, stuck in a place, being your smallest self.” Sounds like a tall order for The Tallest Man on Earth. Watch the “Henry St.” visual below.

UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster just opened and it’s terrifying

Thrill-seekers rejoice! The tallest rollercoaster in the UK has officially opened – just in time for the bank holiday weekend.

If you’re craving astronomical heights and speeds this summer, look no further than the behemoth rollercoaster Hyperia, located at Thorpe Park in Surrey.

It’s not only said to be the tallest of its kind here in the UK, Thorpe Park’s operators say it’s also the fastest and reaches speeds of 80mph.

The ride itself is made up of 995m of track and is 236ft tall, and features the tallest loop in Europe. It has now taken the crown of the UK’s tallest rollercoaster away from Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s The Big One, which stands at 235ft.

Interestingly, Thorpe Park says Hyperia is also the most weightless rollercoaster. But what does that mean, you ask? The ride was inspired by the legendary daughter of an ancient River God, according to the official site, and the theme park’s director, Neil Poulter, told BBC Radio Surrey that riders would experience a ‘weightlessness feel’ and feel ‘like you’re slightly coming out of your seat’.

Clearly it’s for the most brave rollercoaster lovers, who showed up in droves on Friday (May 24) to be among the first to ride Hyperia.

One fan on X, @ShimmonsWil l, shared his initial reaction to the ride. ‘Hyperia is amazing,’ he tweeted.

And another lucky ride, @romg709 , took to X and shared: ‘I’m not proud of many things, but being on the first public train of Hyperia was special.’

Thorpe Park tickets can be booked in advance from £29, and the park is also home to the rollercoasters: Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Saw: The Ride, The Swarm, Stealth and The Walking Dead: The Ride.

Before the launch of Hyperia on Friday, Thrope Park’s most recent opening was the re-launch of its Ghost Train attraction in 2023, which now features special effects and live actors.

For riders who are willing to travel abroad to reach the highest of heights, the tallest roller coaster in the world is Kingda Ka at Six Flags in New Jersey, which towers above Hyperia with its upside down U-shaped track measuring 456ft tall.
