Beyonce Renaissance Album

It’s time. Beyoncé ‘s Renaissance World Tour — her first jaunt in nearly five years — has officially kicked off at Stockholm’s Friends Arena where she’s set to perform for nearly three hours at the Swedish capital.

The stadium trek will continue across Europe through June, with the North American leg kicking off in Toronto on July 8. Club Renaissance will run for at least 40 dates, mainly in stadiums, and make stops at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (July 29) and at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. (Sept. 2) amid dates in Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix and Miami.

Beyoncé performed her first full concert in four years  in January at the new Atlantis Royal Resort in Dubai. It was an elaborate and highly theatrical performance — for which sources say she was paid some $24 million — with an all-female orchestra, a battery of dancers, a small lake, fireworks, a 50-foot hydraulic platform, three costume changes for the singer and a guest appearance from her and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy, but no songs at all from “Renaissance.”

Her last official tour was the “On the Run II” tour with Jay in 2018, which was tied to their joint album, “Everything Is Love,” by the duo billed as the Carters. That same year, she headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival but her last solo trek was behind her previous solo album, “Lemonade,” in 2016.

Bey is back and I'm sleeping real good at night! The Renaissance World Tour is finally here but what songs made the setlist?

Beyoncé is no stranger to being a mysterious girl. Ever since she stopped the world (world stop, carry on) with her self-titled visual album in 2013, she's stopped doing traditional press. However, Beyoncé's Renaissance era is her most mysterious era to date. Since the album dropped, Beyoncé hasn't released a music video.

However, Beyoncé has gone on tour. On May 10, Beyoncé kicked off her highly anticipated Renaissance World Tour to over 50,000 fans in Stockholm, Sweden. The show is now in its US leg and we have the Renaissance World Tour setlist in full.

Below is a detailed list of every song Beyoncé sings including any changes she makes from night to night on the tour.

Beyoncé has since removed three songs from the setlist: 'Thique', 'All Up In Your Mind' and 'Drunk In Love'. What songs are on Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour setlist?

Will Beyoncé change the Renaissance World Tour setlist at all?

Unless Beyoncé announces another leg to the tour, the show is now complete and, outside of 'Thique', 'All Up In Your Mind' and 'Drunk In Love' only being performed at select dates, there were no drastic changes to the setlist.

At the start of the tour, there was speculation that Beyoncé might edit the setlist based on the official tour programme. It had an image of what looked like a draft of the setlist for the show. Most of the songs listed in the photo appeared in the show. However, the left side of the photo contained a long list of songs, many of which weren't performed.

It now appears that Beyoncé simply edited the setlist down and gave fans a glimpse of songs that were considered for the show but didn't make the final cut.

The Bey-aissance has arrived.

After more than two months of traversing Europe with her six-part, nearly three-hour show, Beyoncé has landed in the U.S. with the Renaissance World Tour .

Five-plus years since she last graced a concert stage, Beyoncé played for more than 1 million fans on her opening run overseas and will perform 23 stadium shows in the U.S., which started July 12 in Philadelphia.

Her setlist of nearly three dozen songs leans heavily on her current "Renaissance" album , but there are plenty of throwbacks, with "Crazy in Love," "Love on Top" and "Formation" joining new tracks including "Plastic Off the Sofa," "Cozy" and "Break My Soul."

Here’s a look at what fans can expect when Beyoncé's Renaissance hits their city.

Beyoncé is back on tour!

Why Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Tour Is a Stadium-Shaking Triumph

By Brian Hiatt

Brian Hiatt

Beyoncé ‘s Renaissance tour , a stadium-shaking dance party built around last year’s album of the same name , won’t begin its U.S. run until a July 12 show in Philadelphia, but thanks to TikTok and YouTube, stateside fans already have a decent sense of the show. It begins with Beyoncé essentially serving as her own opening act via a mini set of ballads before exploding into a show built around the Renaissance album, with songs from her previous albums worked in among the new hits (or in some cases, as with a taste of “Sweet Dreams” in “Alien Superstar,” during them).

Phish Fan Banned From Sphere for Taking Bong Rip: ‘No Regrets’

George clooney phones white house after biden rebukes wife’s work on israel warrants, 'house of the dragon' season 2 repeats same thrills — and mistakes — as season 1, alex jones will sell off infowars to help pay $1.5 billion he owes to sandy hook families.

In the episode, Brittany Spanos joins host Brian Hiatt to discuss the discourse around and experience of the tour on TikTok and elsewhere, while Daily Telegraph music critic Neil McCormick — who just gave five stars to Beyoncé’s performance in the Welsh capital of Cardiff — offers a firsthand look at the tour. “Beyoncé has spent 25 years doing what she does at an incredibly high level and always trying to up up the ante,” says McCormick. “This is Beyoncé showing who’s the queen, and it’s at the top level of where a show has ever, ever been.”

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour Setlist Includes Classics & Surprises

On May 10, Bey kicked off her first tour in five years with a mix of 2000s classics and Renaissance hits.

Please do not be alarmed, remain calm, do not attempt to leave the dance floor — Beyoncé ’s 2023 Renaissance World Tour has commenced. On May 10, members of the Beyhive traveled to Stockholm, Sweden, to witness the opening night of her first tour in five years. This marks the first time the 32-time Grammy winner has performed songs from her seventh studio album Renaissance , which have not received any music videos or live performances until now.

Since her last tour in 2018, Beyoncé released the critically acclaimed Renaissance album , her first solo effort in seven years, but that’s not the only new music she’s given fans. In 2019, she put out The Lion King: The Gift , a soundtrack inspired by Disney’s live-action film in which she plays Nala, before releasing a companion film Black Is King a year later. With so many new songs to fit alongside her older hits, creating the Renaissance Tour setlist was always going to be a challenge, but Beyoncé came through with a 35-song spectacle that lasted almost three hours.

Beyoncé played the entirety of Renaissance in order, including Grammy-winning hits “Break My Soul” and “Cuff It,” and mixed in classics from all of her previous six albums throughout. But the show didn’t start that way. Instead, Bey opened the tour with a run of surprising ballads, starting with her 2003 deep cut “Dangerously In Love 2” and ending with two tracks from her 2011 album 4 . If this rough setlist draft from the tour book is any indication, she may be rotating the songs in the opening act every night.

After months of creating dream setlists and imagining the camp visuals she could create, fans finally know what Beyoncé is performing on her long-awaited world tour.

Here is Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour setlist.

Beyonce's Renaissance Tour setlist: Every song she sang at her Phoenix concert

setlist beyonce renaissance tour

Hours before Beyoncé hit the stage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Billboard magazine revealed that her Renaissance World Tour had earned the biggest one-month gross in Billboard Boxscore history after raking in $127.6 million in July with just 11 shows.

That’s how an icon does it.

And the fact that she’s been out there breaking records on a tour that puts the focus squarely on her latest album only makes it that much more of a Beyoncé-level mic drop.

It helps, of course, that “Renaissance” is a brilliant effort, channeling the sound and spirit of the disco years in an intoxicating blend of joy and artistry to help listeners shake off the pandemic isolation blues.

That’s why the album ended 2022 at No. 1 on critics’ lists from Rolling Stone to Entertainment Weekly, Pitchfork, Vulture, NPR, the Guardian and more. It was the most acclaimed release of 2022 by far, despite the Grammys being dumb.

Beyoncé ‘Renaissance’: What the fans wore to London’s opening show

Beyoncé has officially landed in London. Last night, the British capital welcomed the pop superstar for the much anticipated “Renaissance” world tour.

We expected an Afrofuturist disco-fueled fantasy, and on the first night of her weeklong residency at north London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (one of the city’s largest stadiums with a capacity of over 60,000) fans showed out in mirror ball cowboy hats, crystal-encrusted corsets and space-age catsuits.

Since its release in 2022, the quadruple Grammy award-winning record has had far-reaching cultural impact, including in fashion. With revered album art that saw Beyoncé in Schiaparelli couture, Alaïa, Mugler and Gucci, as well as her headline- generating stage costumes from the likes of Loewe and Balmain, it’s no wonder fans are taking their concert looks seriously.

The Renaissance Tour may have ended, but the Blackout is only beginning. Beyoncé gave fans a sneak peek at pieces from her upcoming IVY PARK drop with Adidas on Instagram Thursday (Oct. 5), revealing she wore them in an all-black look on stage during her final Renaissance show earlier this week.

How to Get Tickets to Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Tour Movie

Trending on billboard.

“Felt great to design and wear the final IVY PARK drop (with adidas👀💃🏾🕺🏾🪩) on the final show of the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR ,” the star captioned her post. “The Blackout. IVY PARK NOIR dropping Oct 12.”

Queen Bey has been working with Adidas on her IVY PARK brand since 2018. However, the Blackout collection will mark her last collaboration with the company. In March, it was reported that the “Break My Soul” singer and Adidas had mutually agreed to part ways due to “creative differences.”

It’s possible the IVY PARK look will crop up in Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert film , hitting theaters in the U.S., Mexico and Canada in December. The Destiny’s Child alum unveiled the movie’s trailer on the day of the tour’s final show.

See Beyoncé’s best looks from her haute couture-rich Renaissance tour

I t’s not the diamonds or the pearls that make Beyoncé that girl, but fashion is a critical part of what’s made her Renaissance World Tour unforgettable.

In celebration of her seventh album of the same name, Beyoncé’s first solo tour in seven years featured a wardrobe fit for a queen. With many of the looks switching out from venue to venue — and some specific to particular cities on the tour — it also moonlighted as a traveling fashion show, keeping fans on their toes for whatever Beyoncé and her team of stylists had up their sleeves (or opera gloves) next.

This “Renaissance” era in Beyoncé’s music is about unbridled joy, self-empowerment, freedom in love, movement and identity — be it racial, sexual or gender — and the expression of these journeys through disco and futurism.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram in 2022. “My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.”

This message — and the creation of community, with attendees sporting their own “Renaissance couture” to fit the tour’s theme — translated sartorially, too.

When developing the tour wardrobe, “Beyoncé and her team talked about a sci-fi disco, like a gigantic party in another galaxy or space,” said fashion designer Iris van Herpen, who created one look for the tour. “I love designing with the concepts of sci-fi as it gives creative freedom to travel time and space. For me, during her Renaissance tour she is Queen B Beyond, a timeless queen that moves in a dazzling constellation.”

“This ethereal and futurist femininity complements and extends her other looks in the tour that beautifully highlight other aspects of feminine empowerment,” van Herpen added.

Designer David Koma was “particularly excited to receive the call for the world tour because I knew it would be an incredible performance,” he said, calling the tour “an iconic pop culture moment I would be so proud to be a part of.”

“It feels like (a) once in a lifetime experience that every attendee will remember forever,” Koma, who has collaborated with Beyoncé for over a decade, told CNN via email.

Here are some of the best Renaissance tour looks, which fans will be able to see even more of upon the release of “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” in theaters December 1.

‘It should cost a billion to look this good’

For the tour’s opening night in Stockholm, Beyoncé stepped into her “House of Chrome” wearing a custom Alexander McQueen bodysuit featuring thousands of silver bugle beads and crystals hand-embroidered on a black tulle base.

For the final stop of the tour in Kansas City, Missouri, meanwhile, she opened the show in a bustier dress embroidered with thousands of rhinestones, paired with black opera gloves.

André Courrèges was one of the instrumental designers of space-inspired, intergalactic fashion of the ‘60s, and critical in defining the “retro-futurism” aesthetic. Fittingly, Beyoncé wore a custom silver Courrèges leotard with cutouts for several performances of “Alien Superstar.”

She opened the first of three London tour stops in a custom full-body cobalt blue gown from the London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic, similar to pieces from Ilincic’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection.

One of the most iconic looks of the tour was a custom gold Loewe bodysuit with hand motifs from the house’s Fall-Winter 2022 runway, which appear like an illusion in tandem with Beyoncé and her backing dancers’ movements.

In collaboration with tour stylist Shiona Turini, Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson designed a series of looks “inspired by the escapist joy” of “Renaissance,” playing on sculptural forms and body illusion and blending “futuristic concepts with theatrical, disco-era aesthetics,” according to Loewe’s website .

In Amsterdam, Beyoncé wore a custom black corseted Gucci leotard with strands of crystals crisscrossing the bodice, atop sheer mesh with rhinestone detailing. She paired the look with a wide-brimmed, metallic silver hat — and a pair of ornate sunglasses.

The custom Mugler bee outfit Beyoncé often wore while performing “America Has a Problem” referenced the house’s Spring-Summer 1997 “Les Insects” collection . Designed by Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader and styled by Turini, the look pays homage to Beyoncé’s “queen bee” persona while also contributing to the otherworldly feel of much of the tour’s fashions.

In LA, Beyoncé wore another intricate Mugler piece: a strappy silver bodysuit designed by Cadwallader and styled by Turini.

As Beyoncé floated around the arena during the encore performance, “Summer Renaissance,” at her premiere show, so did her custom Coperni ensemble, which was inspired by a look from the brand’s Fall-Winter 2023 collection.

“She wore an embroidered cape, bodysuit and gloves,” Coperni said on Instagram . The outfit, created from silver laser-cut feathers, required hundreds of hours of hand stitching.

In New York City, the singer opened the “Renaissance” act of the show in a custom Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini “bodysuit featuring a sculpted bullet bra adorned with a dazzling decoration of degradè Swarovski crystals,” according to the brand’s Instagram . She accessorized with thigh-high silver boots and an apricot eco-kidassia coat.

For her June 18 Amsterdam show, Beyoncé’s own work was among that of Black designers showcased to celebrate Juneteenth. She donned pieces from her Ivy Park fashion line.

“I was so engulfed in all things RENAISSANCE and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie and the disco era,” the star said in an Instagram post . “I wanted to do a modern twist using the signature IVY PARK neon and bring disco to the beach in this swim collection.”

In Kansas City, she also wore an all-black version of the Ivy Park design.

This custom Iris van Herpen look “was a complex combination of high-tech and craftsmanship. A total of 980 falcate-shapes were 3D constructed by casting silver-marbled silicone into mirrored laser-cut outlines,” van Herpen told CNN. “I designed this look to bring a futuristic softness and otherworldliness to her powerful performance. I wanted her look to be an intense and hypnotizing experience on stage.”

Styled by tour stylist K.J. Moody, this custom David Koma “mother of pearl” print mesh bodysuit and asymmetric skirt was paired with iridescent embossed knee-high cowboy boots.

“I wanted to create a memorable and striking look but with comfort and movement as a priority,” Koma said. “We created pieces that were visually delicate but also durable — something that can be worn for multiple nights of the tour.”

Koma felt like part of his inspiration for the print — Dr. Sylvia Earle, a trailblazing marine biologist — “subconsciously resonated with Beyoncé and the empowerment nature of her music and the tour,” he added.

Beyoncé opened her Chicago show in a custom Schiaparelli minidress designed by Daniel Roseberry and made of black silk faille, with “a floor-length stole covered in hand-embroidered silver stones and leaf feathers,” according to Schiaparelli .

For a California tour date, Beyoncé wore a pink Gucci bustier look with pleated detailing accentuated by crystal embellishments. The look featured bedazzled black velvet opera gloves, matching boots — and binoculars (not pictured).

The camo Ivy Park looks worn for several shows served well the soldier-like arc of the set list, during which Beyoncé and her dancers performed songs including “Formation,” “Diva,” “Run the World (Girls)” and “Black Parade,” a song the singer released to mark Juneteenth in 2020.

Also paired with a pair of thigh-high camo boots, this custom casual jersey look is from Ivy Park’s “Park Trail” collection . With colors that appear to salute Beyoncé’s sister Solange and the Lakers NBA team — “Sol Ange” (solar orange) and “Lake-Her” (legacy indigo), respectively — the collection “is inspired by the resilience of the outdoors, the spirit of the streets, and the possibilities of the future,” according to Adidas .

This full-body Richard Quinn bodysuit featured a peplum-style bodice and a sculptural, dome-like hat that obscured everything except for Beyoncé’s eyes, with large rhinestone details throughout.

For an opening look during a tour date in Atlanta, Beyoncé wore a neon green gown from Indian designer Gaurav Gupta’s “Hiranyagarbha” collection, presented at Paris Haute Couture Week in July.

“She shines in ethereal electricity, chiffon drapes of Athena with orbiting satin sculpting,” Gupta said on Instagram .

For a show in Warsaw, she stunned in a custom Elie Saab haute couture gown styled by Karen Langley and Tara Greville.

And for her Minneapolis show, Beyoncé hit the stage wearing head-to-toe custom Acne Studios, including metallic pink shorts and a bustier, oversized coat and sparkling thigh-high boots.

This custom Balmain look by Olivier Rousteing was one of many silver ensembles Beyoncé donned during the tour. It featured sequins, a dramatic clam shell-like bodice and a hip-level slit. The star released a Renaissance couture collection with the label in March; each look translating a song from the album into fashion.

For the assertive soldier-themed arc of another show, Beyoncé donned a black patent and fishnet look by Peter Dundas, also styled by Moody.

This custom Off-White look, featured on the poster of Beyoncé’s upcoming film, included a bustier-style bodysuit encrusted in 40,000 red hotfix crystals designed by Ibrahim Kamara, the label’s art and image director.

A second all-red Off-White look featured a top hat, bomber jacket and shorter silhouette.

AMC Theatres CEO says ‘Renaissance’ leak nearly tanked Beyoncé deal

The rollout for Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” movie was not so flawless, according the head of AMC Theatres, which distributed the concert film.

Adam Aron, chief executive of the nation’s largest theater chain , told Variety in an interview published last week that the company’s distribution deal with the musician nearly fell through after news of the project leaked.

“Beyoncé was seriously thinking about not doing the movie at all because the secret was blown,” Aron said.

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ reigns at the box office. The year of the concert film continues

‘Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé’ took home the top spot at this weekend’s box office, becoming the second concert film to do so in the last two months.

Dec. 3, 2023

The revelation came several months after “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” opened in wide release on the heels of Taylor Swift and AMC’s wildly successful “Eras Tour” concert film.

According to Aron, AMC went to great lengths to keep the “Eras Tour” movie under wraps — a clandestine move that gave the company a ticket sales advantage and reportedly irked other theater chains.

In an effort to smooth things over with industry peers, AMC decided to handle the “Renaissance” launch a little differently — giving fellow exhibitors a quiet, early heads-up about the picture to level the playing field.

“At least half a dozen movie circuits leaked the news,” Aron told Variety. “So, they didn’t keep their word.”

‘Wicked’ spectacles, merger gossip and movie industry woes at CinemaCon 2024

Here’s what went down during the movie-theater industry event of the year, CinemaCon, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Representatives for AMC and Beyoncé did not immediately respond to The Times’ requests for comment.

“Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” — which features dazzling footage from the singer’s blockbuster world tour — hit theaters Dec. 1 and grossed $44 million at the global box office. It was only the second title released by AMC, which previously operated exclusively as an exhibitor.

Following the success of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” — which pulled in $261.7 million worldwide — AMC plans to distribute “two to three” concert films per year, Aron told Variety. Theater owners are increasingly turning to alternative programming , such as live music and sports, in hopes of increasing attendance in the wake of the COVID-19 shutdown.

Beyoncé Played First Country Concert to Near-Empty Stadium?

The singer released her eighth studio album, "cowboy carter," in march 2024., nick hardinges, published june 6, 2024.

Labeled Satire

About this rating

On June 5, 2024, a Facebook page called America - Love It Or Leave It published a post claiming Beyoncé played her first big country concert to a nearly empty stadium.

America - Love It Or Leave It (ALIOLI) branded the alleged show "embarrassing," "a disaster," and quoted an anonymous person as saying: "She should have never booked a stadium. She couldn't have filled the local movie theater."

Some people commenting on the post appeared to believe the claim, with one saying, "well deserved," while someone else asked: "What did she expect?"

Another user wrote: "Not surprised. It's not that her music is terrible.. it's just how her and Jay-Z went about it. Stealing music to recreate into their own and paying people off so she can have a show."

However, this item was not a factual recounting of real-life events. It was posted by ALIOLI, a  Facebook account  that described its output as being satirical in nature, as follows:

A subsidiary of the America's Last Line of Defense network of trollery. Nothing on this page is real.

ALIOLI also labeled its Facebook page as "Satire/parody," and it said the account was run by an individual branded "Busta Troll."

America's Last Line of Defense (ALLOD), which was mentioned by the ALIOLI account,  likewise described  its content as satirical. Snopes addressed a separate satirical claim by ALLOD in  an article  published on May 30, 2024.

The satirical claim about the empty Beyoncé concert actually originated from an ALLOD post  published on April 11, 2024, which had amassed more than 26,000 interactions at the time of this writing.

Beyoncé released her eighth studio album, "Cowboy Carter," on March 29, 2024. The record was her first full foray into country music.

However, the singer had not released any tour dates for the album at the time of this writing ( archived here ). The  last concert for her previous album took place in Kansas City, Missouri, in early October 2023.

Footage from the Kansas City performance showed many fans in the stadium.

Snopes addressed another satirical post by ALIOLI on June 4, 2024, when the page jokingly claimed X owner Elon Musk was suing comedian Kathy Griffin .

AMC CEO says 'Renaissance' concert movie leak almost cost him Beyoncé film deal

  • Beyoncé nearly pulled the release of her concert film last year.
  • News of the project leaked to the public early, partly because of AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron.
  • Aron thought giving competitor theater chains a heads-up would be a good idea. It backfired.

Insider Today

Beyoncé's concert film was released in movie theaters last December and together with Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" movie , made up "literally all" of AMC's revenue growth in Q4.

But according to the head of AMC Theaters, the film almost didn't make it to the big screen.

Adam Aron , CEO of the American theater chain, said to be the largest in the world , recently spoke to Variety and admitted that the company's distribution deal with the musician nearly fell through after news of the project leaked early — partly because of him.

Aron said that after AMC partnered with Swift on the surprise release of "The Eras Tour" concert movie in October 2023, he learned that competitor theater owners felt slighted by the deal.

While many theaters, not just AMC-owned ones, could show the movie, only AMC, as its distributor, knew about the film's existence in advance so that it could put tickets on sale first.

Related stories

"We couldn't blow Taylor's secret," Aron said. "And those theater chains who groused to you? They grossed $100 million in ticket sales. It's not like they sold diddly."

"The Eras Tour" movie ended up having the biggest-ever opening weekend for a concert filming, raking in $92.8 million domestically. It continued to be a box office smash once it opened worldwide and, to date, has grossed $261 million globally.

When it came to Beyoncé's "Renaissance" just two months later, in December 2023, Aron said he attempted to make amends by giving AMC's competitors a heads-up so that they could also make preparations ahead of the official announcement of the movie.

However, the confidential news soon made it to the ears of the public, causing Beyoncé to have second thoughts about releasing the movie.

The Grammy award-winning artist wanted it to surprise her fans like Swift's concert movie had.

"At least half a dozen movie circuits leaked the news," Aron said.

"Beyoncé was seriously thinking about not doing the movie at all because the secret was blown. So, they didn't keep their word."

Representatives for AMC and Beyoncé did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular working hours.

"Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé," which combined concert footage of the singer's latest worldwide tour with behind-the-scenes glimpses of the singer's process, took home nearly $44 million at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo .

According to Aron, AMC will continue to capitalize on the success of the two concert movies and distribute "two to three" concert films a year.
