When you’re adventuring on the open road and camping out in a travel trailer, you’ll want to take advantage of all of the perks of nature.

If the weather is nice, cooking inside might hinder you from taking in the scenic views outside, so why limit yourself? As you hunt for the right travel trailer for your adventures, be sure to look for one with an outdoor kitchen.

After a lot of research, I found some of the best travel trailers with outdoor kitchens:

  • Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS
  • Dutchmen Kodiak 3321BHSL
  • Grand Design Solitude 377MBS
  • Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 294QBS
  • Jayco White Hawk 26RK
  • KZ Sportsmen 333BHK
  • Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI

These trailers are equipped with everything you need to cook and eat outdoors with your home on wheels just steps away. Many of them also have some excellent outdoor entertainment features, such as an awning with LED lighting, outdoor TVs and sound systems, and more.

Keep reading to learn all about the top travel trailer floorplans that feature outdoor kitchens.

What Does an Outdoor Kitchen Include

IN THIS ARTICLE

What Does an Outdoor Kitchen Include?

Travel trailer outdoor kitchens can include different features and appliances, so you need to consider what your needs are, such as:

Cooking appliances (whether it’s fitted with a grill, stove, or just propane hook-ups for your campstove)

Food storage, such as an outdoor mini fridge

Prep and dining space (some even include a sink and/or an outdoor shower)

Lots of outdoor kitchens are complemented by the travel trailer’s existing outdoor living spaces.

Nearly all new travel trailers are equipped with a power awning, and many have additional features such as LED lighting, outdoor speakers, and even entertainment centers.

7 Best Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens

The best travel trailers are made for comfort and style, inside and out. When you’re considering the outdoor kitchen features and appliances, the following travel trailers offer all of the fittings you need to create and enjoy delicious meals from outside your trailer.

1. Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS

When you want a travel trailer that can accommodate up to 10, the Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS is definitely the travel trailer you want.

It has a bunkroom at the back of the trailer that has dedicated sleeping space for four, in addition to the queen master bedroom and convertible dinette and sofa in the living space.

If you have a large group, the single bathroom may present some problems, but it should be okay if you’re camping in a campground with facilities.

The Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS has a full kitchen with a double-bowl large sink, a three-burner cooktop and oven, convection microwave, and a 6 cu.ft. stainless steel double-door refrigerator and freezer.

With the included outdoor kitchen, your cooking capacity and outdoor enjoyment is doubled with the Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS.

There’s a tall mini fridge for food and beverage storage, a sink and a grill/stove with additional storage cabinets and drawers.

Overhead, the door to the outdoor kitchen opens like a hatch to keep you covered if it’s raining.

After you’re finished cooking, set up your meal under the 18-foot power awning, turn on some tunes to listen through the outdoor speakers, and enjoy!

Key Features & Price:

  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner and forced air/ducted furnace
  • 4-person bunkhouse
  • Full outdoor kitchen (grill/stove, fridge, sink and storage)
  • Hot/cold outdoor shower
  • Price: Starting at $26,999

2. Dutchmen Kodiak 3321BHSL

The Dutchmen Kodiak 3321BHSL also has a bunkhouse, but this layout is a little bit different than the Coachmen Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS, since it has a convertible dinette under the driver’s side bunk.

It has a large entertainment center with a fireplace and theater seating across the trailer next to the main convertible dinette in the living space.

The fully-featured indoor galley feels more like a residential kitchen with the island and oversized farm-style single bowl sink.

All of the appliances are stainless steel, including the three-burner range top with an oven and glass cover, 10 cu.ft. double door refrigerator, microwave and range hood with a 12-volt fan and light.

The trailer has a spacious bathroom with a toilet, shower, sink and vanity. There are slide-outs on either side of the living area, making it feel almost double in size when you’re parked at your campsite.

Another feature that upgrades the Dutchmen Kodiak is the king-sized bed in the master bedroom.

The 3321BHSL Dutchmen Kodiak Ultimate has a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, with a tall mini fridge, 2-burner propane stove, sink, storage cabinets, and plenty of counter space with an overhead LED light and outlet.

Cook from the outdoor kitchen with the hatch to protect you from the elements, then head under the 18-foot adjustable power awning with LED lights.

There are outdoor speakers installed on the trailer to provide ambiance, and you can even install a TV with the prepped outdoor hookups and mount.

  • 13,500-BTU Ducted air conditioner and high output furnace
  • 4-person bunkhouse with secondary dinette
  • Upgraded Insulation Package
  • Wifi W/4G LTE Connectivity
  • Price: Starting at $50,968

3. Grand Design Solitude 377MBS

One of the more luxurious travel trailers with outdoor kitchens on this list is the Grand Design Solitude.

There are six floorplans with pull-out kitchens outside under the awning, but I think the 377MBS is the most unique and versatile, since it has a second bedroom with a tri-fold sofa bed, fold-down bunk in the loft above, a desk and a closet.

Like all of the Grand Design Solitude trailers, the 377MBS has a spacious living area with a sofa bed and theater seating in front of the entertainment center with an LED TV and fireplace.

There’s a free-standing dinette across from the kitchen, which is fully equipped with a 3-burner professional grade stainless steel cooktop with a built-in oven, a convection microwave, an oversized pantry with LED rope lighting, and a 18 cu.ft. four-door refrigerator.

The kitchen is one of the most residential in design, with real tile backsplashes and a large two-bowl kitchen sink with a single faucet and pull-out sprayer placed in the central island.

The single bathroom has everything you need in a compact space, with plenty of storage. In the main bedroom, the queen sized bed can be switched out for a king option, still with plenty of space to walk around.

There’s shelf storage and a full wardrobe closet, a second closet that’s prepped for a stackable washer and dryer, a pull-out ottoman, and a flip-top dresser beneath the LED TV.

Unlike some of the travel trailers on this list, where the outdoor kitchens are integrated into the body of the trailer, the outdoor cooking area in the Grand Design Solitude is a slide-out drawer that has a small sink and camp grill with a fold-out table for food prep and dining.

There’s a small shelf behind the sink and grill for additional space. While there isn’t an outdoor mini fridge, the huge 18 cu.ft. fridge inside will probably have all of the cold food storage space you’ll need.

The pull-out kitchen is centrally placed beneath the main 20-foot awning, with an outdoor shower nearby to make clean-up a breeze.

  • 35,000 BTU furnace, heat pump air conditioner upgrade optional
  • Bunkroom/office
  • Prepped for stackable washer and dryer
  • Price: Starting at $93,025

4. Jayco Jay Flight SLX 294QBS

Jayco is one of the top names in travel trailers, and they offer several models with an outdoor kitchen.

The Jay Flight SLX 8 294QBS is a bunkhouse travel trailer that can accommodate up to 10 people if you choose the hide-a-bed option.

However, packing so many people into a small space is bound to put a lot of pressure on the kitchen, even if it is fully-equipped. Having an outdoor kitchen is certainly going to help.

There’s a queen-sized bed and dual wardrobes in the master bedroom, and a bench with storage space and an entertainment center in the dividing wall between the bedroom and living area.

A spacious, convertible dinette and hide-a-bed sofa take up the slide-out, expanding your interior space when you’re camped out.

You can cook meals just as you would at home from the interior kitchen, which has a spacious counter and sink area with a large 50/50 acrylic sink, brushed nickel faucets, and plenty of storage between the overhead and under sink cabinets. T

here’s a three-burner cooktop range with a glass cover, oven, and stainless steel microwave above.

Keep your fresh food cold in the 6 cu. ft. Norcold® stainless steel refrigerator with temperature controls, and store your dry food in the spacious pantry.

Across from the pantry, you’ll find the single bathroom in the trailer, although it is expertly designed for maximum space.

There’s a huge walk-in shower and spacious countertop with a vanity and sink beside the toilet.

The bunkhouse at the back of the trailer has four bunks and a large wardrobe and TV cabinet.

Outside the Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 294QBS, get cooking from your full-equipped outdoor kitchen, with a 2-burner camp stove and sink that slide out, and a tall mini fridge for your food and beverage storage.

Once the meal is ready, head under the 18-foot power awning with LED lights and speakers to enjoy your food in the great outdoors. There’s a hot/cold outdoor shower to assist with the clean-up.

Key Features & Price:

  • 13,500-BTU roof-mounted A/C
  • Premium multimedia sound system with MP3/iPod input jacks and Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Price: Starting at $31,766

5. Jayco White Hawk 26RK

The Jayco White Hawk 26RK is another Jayco travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen, and this floorplan is very unique.

The kitchen is at the back of the trailer, with a Furrion® 3-burner recessed glass cooktop range that includes an oven, a microwave, an extra-deep 8 cu.ft. refrigerator, and a deep, split bowl, stainless steel sink with high rise, pull out faucet and dry rack/ sink cover combo.

A single slide-out contains the convertible dinette (free standing table options available) and tri-fold sofa across from the large entertainment center and kitchen pantry.

The bathroom in this travel trailer is quite large, with a porcelain foot flush toilet, a 34-inch shower with solid door enclosure, vanity sink with overhead medicine cabinet, and linen closet.

In the master bedroom, which has its own entrance, there’s a queen bed and lots of storage between the over-bed cabinet, dual wardrobes, and additional closet.

Outside, the 20-foot power awning covers both doors and the fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, which has a 2-burner camp stove, sink with embossed metal countertops, tall mini fridge, and plenty of work space.

There are two marine-grade exterior speakers to provide ambiance while you cook and relax outside your Jayco White Hawk trailer.

  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner, 35,000 BTU furnace
  • Rear kitchen
  • Large entertainment center w/ 40″ LED TV
  • AM/FM/CD/DVD/Bluetooth® stereo with speakers
  • JaySMART™ back-up assist lighting
  • Price: Starting at $44,378

6. KZ Sportsmen 333BHK

The KZ Sportsmen 333BHK is similar to the Dutchmen Kodiak, featuring a rear bunkhouse with a second dinette.

However, it has other layout features that make it unique, such as the angular bathroom design to maximize space and the kitchen island with a double sink and lots of counter space for food prep.

The central living and kitchen area is the heart of the KZ Sportsmen 333BHK, with a 70-inch sofa, spacious dinette, and large entertainment center that’s placed on the angled wall off of the bathroom for easier viewing throughout the room.

Across from the dinette, the kitchen island has seamless countertops and an undermount acrylic sink with sink covers and a stainless steel residential kitchen faucet with a pull-down sprayer.

The main cooking area has a three-burner cooktop and oven with a range hood and turntable microwave above in the overhead cabinet.

There’s also an 8 cu.ft. refrigerator, pantry and hutch for more storage. With two bedrooms, the KZ Sportsmen 333BHK is great for groups or families.

The bunkhouse can accommodate up to five, with three bunks and a convertible dinette.

At the front of the trailer, the queen master bedroom also has two wardrobes on either side of the bed, with overhead cabinets for extra storage space.

The single bathroom has a unique layout between the master bedroom and living area, with a shower and vanity sink along the sidewall, and the toilet placed between the doors exiting to the bedroom and living area.

Cook outside with the two-burner stove and sink, which slide out for convenient use.

There’s a tall mini fridge as well for storing your fresh food and beverages, with plenty of countertop space for food prep.

Enjoy your meal from under the smart arm power awning that has a drip rail and spouts to keep you dry if it’s raining.

The awning also has an LED light strip and exterior speakers to provide some tunes in your outdoor living space.

  • 13,500 BTU air conditioner, 30,000 BTU furnace
  • Flip-down 71″ storage rack on rear bumper
  • Wireless Backup Camera System
  • Smart Arm awning with motion security sensor and wind sensor
  • Price: Starting at $24,995

7. Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI

Another travel trailer that maximizes a small space for residential-style living is the Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI.

Like the two previous trailers on this list, the LaCrosse 3360BI has a bunkhouse in the back that sleeps four, an island in the kitchen, and an angular bathroom layout.

The large 87-inch U-shaped dinette and comfortable sofa bed in the living area offer plenty of seating during the day and extra sleeping areas at night, so that the trailer can accommodate up to 8 people between the living area, bunkhouse, and queen master bedroom.

In addition to two shirt closets and lots of overhead storage, the master bed has underbed storage, a quilted residential bedspread, an “Evergreen” select mattress, and even its own heat and air conditioning vents.

Comfort and beautiful design are key aspects of the Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI, with premium vinyl flooring and pre-drilled cabinetry with solid wood core framing and Shaker-style cabinet doors with glass inserts throughout.

The 82-inch interior ceiling height is certainly a perk, offering “walk in” height in the oversized MAX slide-out.

The kitchen is also equipped and styled for everyday use, including a three-burner Furrion residential cooktop, a 30-inch convection microwave, and an 11 cu.ft. stainless steel 12-volt refrigerator.

Fixtures and storage throughout the kitchen are designed with residential appeal, from the solid surface countertops and single-bowl stainless steel sink with J-spout faucet, to the brushed nickel fixtures and black hardware.

There’s even a MAX storage drawer below the stove for your oversized pots and pans, and a decorative pendant light above the island.

But a top appeal of camping in a travel trailer is your access to the great outdoors, and it’s especially important to have some outdoor living space when you’re traveling with lots of people.

The Prime Time LaCrosse 3360BI has a 17-foot power awning with LED lights and a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen to expand your options out into the natural beauty of your campsite.

Step outside to cook in nature from the outdoor kitchen, which has a stainless steel cooktop and tall mini fridge, as well as overhead cabinets and countertop space for storage and meal prep.

There’s an outside shower handy to help you wash up after your meal. The trailer has LED-lit marine-grade exterior speakers and is even prepped for a TV with a bracket and hook-ups.

  • 15,000 BTU Air Conditioner and 30,000 BTU High Capacity Gas Furnace
  • Large 50” LED TVs and an AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo w/HDMI pass-through
  • Oversized MAX living room slide-out
  • Winegard 360 Air 4G Antenna
  • Price: Starting at $32,995

Have you found your favorite travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen?

With so much to offer inside, it can be tough to choose the best travel trailer for your family.

But these travel trailers bring so much more to the table by adding an outdoor kitchen so that you can cook your meals outside.

All of them have spacious power awnings to protect you from the elements, so that you can create delicious meals outside, rain or shine.

Below is the floor plan for the 291BHK.

Below is a photo of the outdoor kitchen available on the KZ Sportsmen.

KZ Sportsmen Outdoor Kitchen

It has a granite counter-top, two-burner stove, faucet and, sink. It also sports a small refrigerator to keep your drink nice and cold. Over its a nice little outdoor set-up for those days you prefer to cook outside.

(5) floor plans with an outside kitchen are available on the Jayco Jayflight SLX. The plans are the following:

Jayco Jayflight SLX with outdoor kitchen

We definitely like the look of the Jayco outdoor kitchen. It has a very nice fridge, not one of those small ones that can only hold a few cans. The two-burner stove is also very nice and so is the counter-top. Plenty of cabinet storage and a sink add to the overall functionality.

The Dutchmen Aspen Trail has (10) floorplans that include an outside kitchen. The floor plans are the following:

Dutchmen Aspen Trail with outdoor kitchen

Not one of the better outside kitchen for travel trailers that Aspen Trail kitchen is at least functional. The fridge is rather small and the sink looks a bit cheap. Nevertheless, it does what it’s supposed to do.

Another Jayco on our list is the White Hawk . This model has (9) floorplans with outside kitchens. The models are as follows:

Jayco White Hawk outside kitchen

Though I am personally not a big fan of the small refrigerator I have to give Jayco props on the design and look of the outdoor kitchen on the White Hawk. The two-burner stove and the fairly large sink are excellent for outdoor cooking.  The storage space is small but appears ample.

The Coachmen Apex is a lightweight travel trailer that offers outside kitchen in several of their floorplans. The following have outside kitchens that include a sink, stove, and refrigerator or camp kitchens that only have a stove.

  • 208BHS – camp kitchen
  • 215RBK – outside kitchen
  • 245BHS – camp kitchen
  • 300BHS – outside kitchen
  • 250RLS – outside refrigerator only
  • 265RBSS – camp kitchen
  • 269RBKS – camp kitchen
  • 287BHSS – camp kitchen
  • 289TBSS – camp kitchen
  • 300LE – outside kitchen

On the Coachmen the outside kitchen is like the photo below:

Coachmen Apex Outside Kitchen

The camp kitchen is pictured below. You will notice it does not have a stove slideout like the one above, but it does give you the counter-space to simply place one on top.

Coachmen Apex outside kitchen

We much prefer the outside kitchen rather than the camp kitchen. However, either one will work just fine and with (10) floor plans available with outside kitchens you are bound to find one you like.

Highland Ridge RV offer several models of travel trailers with outdoor kitchens. You can view all of their models here , for now, we’ll introduce you to the Highland Ridge Light. The Light is available in (4) floor plans with outdoor kitchens.

Below is the floorplan for the LT275RLS.

Highland Ridge Light with outdoor kitchen

The outdoor kitchen includes a 2-burner stove and a small fridge. There is no counter space so you will need a folding table to set up for cooking.

The Keystone Outback is more than just a travel trailer, its a toy hauler travel trailer. The Outback offers a couple of floor plans with outdoor kitchens. They are the following:

Below is the floor plan for the 325BH.

Travel trailers with outside kitchens

The Keystone Outback as a flip-out stove, a nice sized fridge, a sink and a little bit of counter space. Overall this is a very nice set-up that is indeed quite functional. You will enjoy cooking outside as it offers plenty of storage space as well.

The last travel trailer on our list of the 9 we chose with outdoor kitchens is the Crossroads Volante. The Volante floor plans with outdoor kitchens are as follows:

Below is the floorplan for the VL25BH showing the location of the outside kitchen.

Crossroads Volante

The Volante offers up as nest little outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator, sink, and two-burner stove. It does offer a little bit of counter space but not much so a small table for prepping food is highly recommended.

What Makes A Travel Trailer Ultra Lightweight?

First of all, you need to understand that camper trailers are usually more affordable than RVing. Basically, it’s easier to tow a travel trailer with an SUV or a truck.

Although our focus is on ultra-lightweight units, it’s still important to know about some other features and designs.

Sadly, owning a trailer model that lacks your primary necessities or won’t let you make adjustments could be a major setback.

A Point to Note About the Weight of a Camper Trailer

What Makes A Travel Trailer Ultra Lightweight

Large trailers weighing over 3000 pounds are usually bigger in size; hence, they’re more likely to slow you down.

Most tow vehicles are best paired with a travel trailer of 2,000 pounds weight or less to avoid being slowed down. Now, it is always easy to check the actual weight of a trailer , but it’s worth noting that it is the dry weight or unloaded vehicle weight (UVW) that is usually checked.

By the time you have added your camping/travel accessories, you’ll undoubtedly exceed the 2,000 pounds mark.

You will basically need to go with some basic amenities, such as water, propane, generator, groceries, sleeping mats, air conditioner, etc.

Some standard travel trailer also features hardwood cabinets and solid-surface countertops in the indoor kitchen, a vaulted ceiling, a bike rack, a glass-top stove with an oven, a four-seater booth dinette, a storage cabinet, a full-size bed with overhead storage, etc. All these will undoubtedly contribute to the overall weight of the camper.

In other words, the gross weight of your travel trailer totally depends on your needs. Luckily, most travel trailer brands usually specify the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), which stands for the maximum allowable weight of a loaded vehicle.

Does Floor Plan Affect Travel Trailer Weight?

Coachmen Apex Ultra-lite 293RLDS floorplan

Yes, the floor plan and layout often determine the size of a travel trailer. A well-designed floor plan is highly necessary as it could either make your trailer lighter or heavier.

For instance, some people like to include household items while traveling, such as loaded bathrooms, equipped kitchens, storage space, a sink and a stove/grill with extra storage cabinets, dining area, countertop space, tall mini fridge for beverage and food storage, drawers, etc.

In some models, users can also pull out a portion of the wall to create larger spaces. While space is limited, you can also plan how to install an off-the-ground sleeping area or a stove in the trailer.

With a great floor plan, you can also include roof vents, solar panels, an outside grill, a WiFi booster, etc. This is why the ultra-lightweight trailer models are the best because they maintain a low profile outdoors.

Additionally, an excellent floor plan and manageable weight make it easier to set up the camper trailer at camping grounds, especially at small campsites. Aside from that, a trailer is also more convenient to set up than a tent.

With this mobility, you have the freedom to quickly pack your gear and move to another location when needed.

Other Factors That Affects The Weight of a Trailer

Materials and construction.

Travel trailers come in different types of construction, including fiberglass and aluminum constructions.

The materials and construction of a trailer pretty much add up to its unloaded weight. A standard travel trailer is expected to have solid, sturdy walls, even if it’s ultra-lightweight.

This will enable the travel trailer to remain intact during unexpected weather changes or long hours of travel. Furthermore, tough and rigid walls should be able to provide insulation from cold or noise.

Convenient Towing

While travel trailers are created to be highly spacious, they should also be towable. The experts recommend using an SUV or minivan to tow trailers weighing 2000 pounds or less.

Economical Features

Do you remember the popular saying that “less is more?” This is where it comes into play.

Smaller camping trailers tend to consume fuel slowly, leading to lower operational costs. Meanwhile, larger units will cost you more on both fuel and maintenance.

In terms of fuel economy, travel trailers are approximately 2 to 3 MPG better compared to RVs.

That said, it’s also worth mentioning that towing a loaded trailer reduces the fuel efficiency of a towing vehicle by a few miles per gallon.

Therefore, owning an ultra-light travel trailer with outdoor kitchens means that your towing van will not need up to 8 to 10 MPG when towing. That’s not all; a lightweight trailer also means less space for your AC unit to cool or heat.

You need the best ultra-light travel trailers with outdoor kitchens when next you are going on a vacation or camping, for three reasons:

Firstly, they are chock-full of basic amenities, yet they are lightweight.

Secondly, unlike other gigantic trailers that require massive vehicle horsepower to pull them around, these trailers are towable even with smaller vehicles without hassle.

Thirdly, a lightweight trailer with an outdoor kitchen provides an additional area to cook something with a distinct smell, or you don’t want to heat the inside of your RV. You should also aim at going for a travel trailer that lets you choose your own floor plan.

After all, with so much to gain and nothing to lose, you should give these trailers a shot. But always remember to know your trailer’s carrying capacity.

11 Trailers With Amazing Outdoor Kitchens

Trailers with Outdoor ktichen

Outdoor kitchens are convenient while camping for their ability to have your kitchen outside especially when the weather is hot or not missing out on the action around the campsite while getting dinner ready. The style of outdoor kitchens varies greatly depending on your travel trailer. While a lot of units don’t have one at all, some are quite small and basic, while others are full functional kitchens.

This is a great option to have on your trailer if you require additional cooking space or simply washing up without needing to go inside. This can even have the benefit of making your set up easier. If yours contains a cooktop and additional counter space, there will be less you need to set up and take down such as tables and a grill.

Deciding On An Outdoor Kitchen

When choosing a trailer, first off, decide if an outdoor kitchen is on your ‘must-have’ list or not. If it is, then you need to consider what needs to be included in this kitchen? Does it need to have a refrigerator? What about a sink or a built-in cook-top? All of these factors play a role in the final choice for your trailer. While you may never use your microwave for anything more than a storage box for your bread, the next person may insist on this for heating up left-overs or thawing their meat.

The appliances and set up of the area can easily sway the amount in which you use it. If you are intending for this to act as your primary cooking station, then you will want to look at one of the larger kitchens. These will have more storage space as well as counter space. It will also offer a larger refrigerator. If you simply want a small beverage fridge or a place for a quick wash up before entering the unit, there may be a smaller, simpler kitchen that is better suited for your needs.

Remember, the size of the camper doesn’t necessarily determine the size of the outdoor kitchen. Some of the smaller models are still very practical in their space usage. However, you should be aware that appliances such as the refrigerator and microwave are 110V and will only work when plugged into a power source. Unlike the refrigerator inside the camper, the outdoor one will not keep cool by running off the propane.

The 11 travel trailers that have amazing outdoor kitchens

Let’s go through all their features and why they are great, as well as anything that we aren’t a fan of.

Palomino Puma 32FBIS

  • Jayco White Hawk 26 RK
  • Jay Flight SLX 8 242BHS

Grand Design Solitude 310GK

  • Winnebago 2020 Hike H172BH
  • Explorer Aurora 34BHTS

Cruiser Embrace EL310

Mesa ridge mr322rls, prime time lacrosse 3360bi, coachmen rv apex ultra-lite 300bhs, keystone outback 330rl travel trailer.

So lets get going here. First up is…

Palino Puma 32FBIS

This Palomino Puma features an outdoor kitchen with nearly as many features as the indoor one. The only thing missing from this unit is an outdoor oven! This is literally the ideal kitchen to do all your cooking to keep the odors outside or not having to disappear to make dinner from the outside action. There are so many things they did right in the Palomino that it’s hard to list them all off here.

  • The doorway pops up to create a roof for shelter
  • Outdoor kitchen is located close to the door
  • Pull out Induction cooktop
  • Unobstructed sink
  • Dorm-sized refrigerator
  • Plenty of drawer & cupboard space
  • Outdoor electrical outlet
  • Large countertop area
  • Well Lit outdoor kitchen area
  • Only one induction burner
  • No outdoor entertainment

Conclusion:

This kitchen is a nice standard for outdoor kitchens. It literally has everything you need outside to do your cooking except for an oven, but do you really need an oven? Having another induction burner would be nice or if it was propane, then you could use it for dry camping as well. This is by far the best kitchen out there for outdoor cooking.

Jayco WhiteHawk 26RK 2021

Jayco White Hawk 26 RK 2021

This outdoor kitchen has been revamped in 2021, it comes with a slide out sink and burner and a grill. This is the only models we have seen that has both, they are usually one or the other. This is ideal if you want to do outdoor cooking part time, while you still have the larger fridge and stove inside. The improvements over the 2020 model is the addition of counter space next to the fridge. The awning covers the outdoor cooking area and is one of the smaller outdoor kitchens, but still a nice size for this size of trailer.

  • slide out cooktop & sink
  • Slide out propane grill
  • Located under the awning
  • Electrical outlet
  • Lite outdoor kitchen area
  • Lots of counter space
  • Lack of cupboards for storage
  • No microwave

he improvements definitely make this a model worthwhile if you want the outdoor cooking space as well as the indoor. It’s well designed to accent the indoor kitchen.

Jay Flight SLX 8 242BHS 2021

Jay Flight SLX 8 242BHS 2021

This is another one of the more compact outdoor kitchens. It has a small pull out which contains both a cooktop as well as a sink. There is a long drawer running underneath the length of both of these. In addition, there is also a small 2 foot cube style refrigerator for a few drinks or condiments.

  • Slide out 2 large Lp burners with sink & water
  • 2 x 2 foot Fridge
  • Easy slide-in-Slide-out setup
  • inset counter space
  • Low height counter space
  • Not covered by the awning or have a covering

One of the biggest things that seem to be missing from this particular kitchen is any form of shelter from the weather. This is not located underneath the awning, nor does the door fold out above it in order to provide any sort of shelter. It’s ideal for those warm days when you want to cook outside.

Grand Design Solitude 310GK

This outdoor kitchen is one of the more unique designs. It’s a 5th wheel so keep that in mind. The sink and cooktop both completely pull out of an under storage area leaving the compartment empty with only a single arm attaching the system to the trailer. There is also a table as a part of this set up which folds down to give this unit the title in outdoor counter space. Remember this is an optional feature. Together, this creates an “L” shape coming off the side of your camper which allows everything to be accessible and, as a result, is perfect for prepping your dinner.

  • Pull out kitchen with stove, sink, cook top
  • has a grill
  • tucks away nicely & easily
  • Under awning near the stairs
  • missing outdoor fridge
  • on the small side
  • no microwave
  • no cupboard space

While this kitchen doesn’t have any additional cupboard space, because the entire system pulls out of the storage area, you can use this area for keeping some items but only while the kitchen is set up. However, these will need to be removed when the kitchen is put away since this is the area where it is stored. There is also no refrigerator. Due to this, anything that needs to be kept cold will still have to be kept indoors.

Winnebago 2020 Hike

Winnebago 2020 Hike H172BH, H210RB, H215HS

This may be the smallest size of camper that we are looking at today, however, don’t let this fool you. The outdoor kitchen on this unit matches its size yet is simple and practical. The door to the kitchen opens upward and latches onto the wall of the trailer to ensure it doesn’t fall down in the wind. Once opened, a small cooktop and sink combo slide out, similar to that of a drawer for easy access.

  • The small, compact size
  • One Slide for entire kitchen
  • Has a cooktop & sink
  • Easy setup and takedown
  • No counter space
  • No additional storage space
  • Not covered
  • No refrigerator

Due to the compact size of the camper, there is only a limited amount of space that can be offered for this kitchen. As a result, you will need to set up additional tables if you wish to prep your meal or simply set up your plates outdoors. Another thing to keep in mind with this model, is that it is not located underneath the awning nor is the door held up to create any sort of roof. As a result, you will not find any relief from elements such as the weather and may need to set up an additional tarp or canopy for coverage.

Forest River Explorer Aurora 34BHTS

Forest River Explorer Aurora 34BHTS

This is a mid-sized outdoor kitchen. It contains a dorm-style, energy-efficient refrigerator. There is also a pull-out cooktop that can simply be stowed pushed back inside when it is not in use so that it isn’t sticking out taking up unnecessary space. On the counter behind this stove, situated to the right is a simple kitchen sink set up. Above, you will find two large, double door cabinets. These are perfect for storing those constantly used spices, or dishes. As a bonus, anything that you choose to store in this area can remain here even when the trailer is put away and in motion. In addition, there is an outlet located on the sidewall. This is great for any extra luxuries you wish to bring along such as a coffee maker, ice maker, or simply to charge your cell phone.

  • Covered outdoor Kitchen
  • Energy-efficient A/C  refrigerator
  • lots of cabinets
  • lots of counter space
  • Solid wood cabinets
  • A/C power outlet
  • Light over kitchen area
  • Cook top is not fix, but that could be a plus as well
  • sink is located in the middle
  • No microwave oven
  • Could have a little better layout

Though this layout is not perfect, it does have a lot to offer for an outdoor kitchen. It’s not perfect, but does offer plenty for someone who likes the outdoor cooking space. The size is quite large in comparison to many others.

Cruiser Embrace EL310

The Cruiser Embrace utilizes an energy-efficient refrigerator. Requiring 110 volts with a 15 amp plug to use, this dorm-sized fridge is enough to handle all your refreshments for the weekend as well as most condiments as well as some food that you might be interested in cooking up shortly. There are three large upper cabinets as well as 2 lower drawers, which offer plenty of additional storage space. There is a sink located right beside the fridge with a small counter space on the opposite side of it. Below the right side counter is a pull-out cooktop

  • Energy-efficient A/C powered refrigerator
  • Lots of cupboard space
  • Lots of drawer space
  • Pull-out cookstove hidden under counter
  • Outdoor Power A/C outlet
  • Light lights up outdoor cooking area
  • Nice size Sink
  • The overall layout could have been better designed
  • The cookstove is in front of only counter space

Overall this outdoor kitchen is nice, but the overall layout could be improved, with the stove maybe on a swivel arm to get it out of the way once pulled out so that the counter space could be utilized more frequently while cooking. There isn’t much this kitchen is missing other than maybe a microwave or a spot for your air fryer, crockpot or pressure cooker.

Mesa Ridge MR322RLS

The Mesa Ridge MR322RLS is equipped with a fair sized outdoor kitchen. The hatch door opens up and becomes the shelter for the outdoor kitchen. The first thing you notice is the large storage cabinet above. Underneath the cabinet is a light and an A/C power outlet for the fridge, which leaves one more outlet free for another small appliance. The simple sink is located to the left-hand side of this with a small countertop in the middle and a small fridge to the right. Undeath the fridge is a pull out area where a griddle is located for outdoor cooking. This makes for a nice little kitchen.

  • A large overhead cabinet
  • Pull-out cooktop griddle
  • The door becomes the shelter
  • The light over the sink
  • An A/C outlet over the counter space.
  • The griddle doesn’t block access to the sink or counter space
  • The cooktop is in front of the refrigerator
  • The counter is a bit small
  • fridge is a bit small

The biggest concern of this kitchen is that you might have to reach over the griddle stove to reach into the fridge. Other than that this is a solid little outdoor kitchen with plenty of features to do most of your outdoor cooking.

PrimeTime LaCrosss 3360BI

This outdoor kitchen is one of the rare kitchens that come with a large 40 inch TV and speakers as well as a large fridge. It comes with a nice sized counter space and a slide in gas grill. The door functions as a cover for the kitsch as well. While there is only one drawer.

  • Outdoor television
  • Outdoor sound system
  • Large fridge
  • Pull out cooktop, BBQ grill
  • Door functions as shelter for the kitchen
  • Half the counter space is right in front of the cooktop
  • No sink or water
  • Lack of cupboard space

Due to the pull-out cooktop being located right in front of the counter space, you will either have to reach over this (it could be hot) or you will need to push it in for better access. This is inconvenient for if you are trying to cook but still want to use the space for additional prep work or for laying out other items. Also, since the television is right over the top of the counter space, you will need to be cautious as there is a good chance of making a mess on the screen. You will also be in the way while cooking for anyone who is trying to view the show behind you.

Coachman RV Apex Ultra-lite 300BHS

Credit: Coachman RV

The Coachmen RV Apex Ultra-Lite 300BHS comes equipped with a larger outdoor kitchen. The area includes 1 extra drawer as well as a flip-down panel which leads to underneath the sink for easy access. It contains a dorm-sized mini-fridge and a separate sink for washing up with ease. This is great for families with young children who want to do a quick clean up before eating without the risk of muddying the inside of your unit. There’s also a pull-out drawer that contains your grill. Overhead, there is a large cabinet. This unit is handy in that it allows extra cooking and a storage area that can be used even when not set up. The outlet located on the back wall is great for charging cell phones and other devices as well as hooking up additional appliances such as a coffee maker.

  • Extra drawer space & cupboard space
  • Outdoor sink
  • Pull-out grill the tucks away neatly
  • Door opens to shelter outdoor kitchen
  • Easy access to an outlet
  • No burners if want to cook outside

This kitchen has plenty of space and is well designed. The only thing missing about this is that it doesn’t have any burners if you want to do all your cooking outside.

Keystone Outback 330RL

The Keystone Outback is a leader in extra cupboard space contained in the outdoor kitchen. It has 2 large upper cupboards which each offer tons of extra room for everything from groceries, to dishes, to highly used cooking spices, and everything in between. This contains a dorm-sized refrigerator on one side with a pull out drawer located underneath it. There is also plenty of counter space with an additional leaf that lifts when the set up is complete to make the area even wider. The sink is located to the right-hand side of the counter. There is also another ‘countertop’ that swings out further to the right so that it is not covering this sink which supports a cooktop. This ensures easy access to everything whether you are using the cooktop or not since it is not situated in front of anything in the kitchen. There is also space for the BBQ to hook up to the rear bumper. This is also located off to the side and thus, not blocking access to anything. This BBQ can connect to the propane system for the rest of your camper meaning there is no need to haul an additional tank around.

  • Door shelters kitchen area
  • Plenty of storage space
  • Dorm sized fridge
  • 2 burner stove slide in
  • Outdoor light in kitchen area
  • Cable outlet for TV
  • No Microwave

This kitchen almost has it all! Other than a BBQ, sink and microwave oven. Other than that it’s a solid choice for a travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen.

There are many great styles of outdoor kitchens. Choosing which one will best fit your family really depends on your needs as well as your style of camping. If you are never hooked up to a power source, an outdoor refrigerator and microwave are probably not on the top of your priority list. However, if you are intending to stay for an extended period of time, you may just want to have access to the outdoor television and sound system. For more tips on what to look for when purchasing a travel trailer , check out this link. It provides some great tips and insight on what will work best for you.

Or perhaps you simply don’t want to have to haul a cookstove in and out of your trailer every time you set up. This may make the smaller outdoor kitchens with just a stove and sink perfect for you. Don’t let the size of the unit or kitchen cloud your judgment of its usefulness. After all, it would be a waste to pay for the extras on these units just to find out that you aren’t utilizing these features.

Do You Really Need A Travel Trailer With An Outdoor Kitchen?

We see people camping in travel trailers with outside kitchens all the time and we have found that not all outdoor kitchens are the same.

Some outdoor kitchens are loaded with awesome features like a compact fridge and freezer, cooktop, sink, cabinetry, electric coolers and the list goes on. Others only have a small compact fridge…

As an example, some manufacturers will build a travel trailer floorplan that includes an outdoor kitchen. However, the kitchen is so watered down that it’s almost extraneous. Rest assured, floorplans with minimal outdoor kitchen features did not make this list.

Top 10 Used Travel Trailers with Outdoor Kitchens

A previously owned travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen is by no means a rarity, however. Think of it more along the lines of “uncommon”. The list of 10 below not only features travel trailers with outdoor kitchens but also some of the best amenities the industry has to offer.

Are Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens Worth It?

If a travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen is on your list of musts, then it’s absolutely worth it. Cooking outdoors is such a huge part of the American identity, especially while camping, that it’s hard to argue with the existence of some of them in RVs.

In simple terms, if you want it, then it’s worth it. An outdoor kitchen is an extra—an amenity that isn’t necessary. Its value is in its convenience to the consumer who loves cooking outdoors.

For those who feel like they take up too much interior space, that’s true, to a degree. However, some of the travel trailers on this list sleep up to 10 people.

For those who prefer to bring their portable cooking equipment along for the ride, you still have to find a place for it when it’s not in use. That includes eating up storage space that might better be used in other ways. Travel trailers with outdoor kitchens solve that problem.

Final Words About Used Travel Trailers With Outdoor Kitchens

Travel trailers with outdoor kitchens are an outdoor luxury. Sure, it takes up some interior space, but so will anything you have to bring if you want to cook outdoors and lack the built-in feature. Cooking outside is so inextricably linked with camping, it’s hard to imagine not having this amenity.

If you love to cook and socialize outdoors and prefer to use your storage for other purposes, any one of the travel trailers on this list is perfect for you.

11 Best Class A RVs With Outdoor Kitchens

All of our reviews are based on exhaustive research, industry experience and whenever possible, hands-on testing. When you make a purchase using one of our chosen links we’ll get a small percentage of the proceeds. This supports the site and keeps Jeffsetter running. You can read more here .

Have you considered purchasing a Class A RV, particularly a Class A RV with an outdoor kitchen? There are a number of benefits and perks to having an outdoor kitchen on your RV, especially a Class A RV. But what else should you consider in an RV purchase, especially if you are shopping for a motorhome for the first time?

In this article, we will address everything you need to know about purchasing some of the best Class A RVs with outdoor kitchens. We will go over some of the best options on the market today, as well as what you should consider in a Class A RV before making your final purchase.

Let’s get started and talk about Class A RVs with outdoor kitchens now! And if you are only here to check out our comprehensive list of Class A RVs, use the table of contents to check out 11 of the best options on the market currently!

Benefits of an Outdoor Kitchen in a Class A RV

There are a number of reasons why an outdoor kitchen might benefit you, particularly if you want to purchase a Class A motorhome. But what might some of those benefits be? Here’s our list of only a few reasons why an outdoor kitchen might benefit you while you are camping:

  • More time in the great outdoors . One of the main reasons you might have wanted to camp in the first place is to be closer to the great outdoors. Having an outdoor kitchen gives you the benefits of cooking and living outside more than you would if you only had an indoor kitchen! While your interior kitchen should still be useful and impressive on your Class A RV, having an outdoor kitchen just gives you more opportunities to exist in nature!
  • Less smell and noise inside your RV . You may already be planning your camping trips with plenty of guests in mind, but what do you do when those guests are asleep inside of your Class A RV and you need to cook breakfast? One of the best reasons to get an outdoor kitchen on your Class A RV is the fact that this allows you to cook outside without disturbing anyone who may be slumbering inside. Plus, having your kitchen outside also gives you the opportunity to cook without releasing unwanted smells into the interior of your RV.
  • Allows you to cook for large groups . Speaking of camping with plenty of guests , having an outdoor kitchen allows you to cook for large groups of people with ease. You have plenty of counter space when you consider both kitchens combined, and you should have plenty of appliances to use if you are cooking an elaborate meal. Plus, cooking outside means that your guests will likely distribute themselves evenly, split between outdoor living and indoor living!
  • Keeps your RV cool . While you should definitely get a Class A RV with a powerful air conditioner, having the option to cook outside helps you keep your RV cool in the summertime. Not only will the interior of your RV remain climate-controlled and pleasant-smelling, but having the option to cook outside means that your RV will be a retreat should the weather outside get too hot!
  • Wash up with ease . Given the fact that I live in an RV full time, I can tell you just how messy my kitchen gets after I am done doing dishes. Having an outdoor kitchen on your RV means that you can wash up all of your dishes with ease at the end of the delicious meal. In addition, you can use your outdoor kitchen to wash hands or dog paws after a long day outside, which keeps the interior of your RV nice and clean!

As you can no doubt see, there are a number of benefits and perks to purchasing a Class A RV with an outdoor kitchen. However, what else should you consider in your RV other than the fact that you have a kitchen that’s outside? Let’s talk about that now!

What to Consider in a Class A RV With an Outdoor Kitchen?

Whether you are brand new to RVing or want to know what it’s like to own a motorhome, here are some of the top things that you should consider in a Class A RV with an outdoor kitchen.

Layout or Floor Plan

One of the very first things that you should decide on while shopping for any type of RV is what style of floor plan or layout you want. Given just how many different RVs there are on the market today, there are just as many floor plans to choose from.

It can get very overwhelming, sorting through all of the floor plans and layouts possible on a Class A motorhome, but it’s very important to determine what you want and need out of a layout. Choosing a floor plan that doesn’t work for you often makes or breaks an RV!

Are you planning on living full-time in this Class A RV, or will you just be taking it out a few times this season? How many people do you want to bring with you, and do you need an additional bathroom ? You obviously want an outdoor kitchen, but what other amenities might you be interested in?

All of these are very important questions to ask yourself before shopping. If you’ve got a large family then may already know that you want a private master suite and a bunk area for the kiddos. No matter what you were looking for, there’s an RV that has a floor plan for you. It just may take some time to find!

Class A Length and Size

You likely already know just how large Class A RVs can get if it’s the type of RV that you are set on purchasing. However, have you considered just how long and tall of an RV you want? These numbers matter more than you think, especially if you want to camp in more populated areas.

Many Class A RVs range in length from 25 feet to over 40 feet long, depending on what you are looking at. It’s important to note that many national and state parks, as well as RV parks, have length limits for their sites. This may mean that reservations are more difficult or impossible, depending on how long your RV is.

However, on the flip side of this is the fact that purchasing a larger RV will give you more space inside. You may be searching for a larger RV to fit your entire family, or perhaps you want a few different designated rooms inside of your Class A motorhome.

No matter the reason, you should know what size of RV you want before you start shopping. There are pros and cons to both larger and smaller RVs, so it’s up to you to decide what exactly you are looking for in the long run!

Indoor Kitchen vs Outdoor Kitchen

While you are shopping for an RV with both options, it is important to determine what amenities you want in both your indoor kitchen as well as your outdoor kitchen. All Class A RVs will be outfitted with indoor kitchens that likely have everything you need, including a refrigerator and microwave, but what amenities will your outdoor kitchen have?

Both indoor and outdoor kitchens on RVs vary greatly depending on the RV manufacturer and the needs of the customer. You can likely upgrade your refrigerator to a larger size, or choose an RV with a full range and oven combination indoors.

Your outdoor kitchen is likely more simplistic, though there should be a cooking element and a sink for ease of cleaning and preparation. Some outdoor kitchens are even more advanced, with an additional refrigerator outside or perhaps a propane grill.

Whatever the setup, there is both an indoor and outdoor kitchen to suit your needs. It just might take a little bit of extra time to find exactly what you’re looking for, and know that you may need to upgrade your appliances if need be!

How Many People You Want to Host

Choosing a Class A RV means you have plenty of space to host people, both inside and out. However, knowing just how many people you want to host before you purchase an RV is a good idea.

Whether you are expecting multiple guests sleeping inside of your RV, or perhaps you just want enough space for guests during the daytime, knowing just how many people you plan to hang out with on average is smart planning.

If you want to host your large family or group of friends , you should look for Class A RVs that offer you many different sleeping arrangements. However, if it’s just you and your significant other, you likely don’t need to worry about additional sleeping areas or accommodations. It all depends on your lifestyle and expectations!

Awnings and Outdoor Setup

One of the main reasons why you may want an outdoor kitchen is so that you can spend more time outside of your RV. This means that you should pay particular attention to the way your outdoor area is set up, including awnings and kitchen placement.

If you plan on using your outdoor kitchen during times of inclement weather or moments of extreme heat, you should make sure that your awning properly covers you while you’re cooking. In addition, you may be seeking an outdoor entertainment center so that you can watch television while you cook as well.

Regardless of what you are seeking, there are plenty of Class A RVs that have a set up just for you. If you want an elaborate outdoor area with plenty of awnings and entertainment opportunities, you should definitely make this a priority as you shop!

Ability to Boondock

While Class A RVs aren’t ideal for boondocking, you may be seeking additional amenities that allow you to do so. Boondocking is also known as dry camping , and it is the act of camping without hookups or campground utilities.

The main reason that boondocking isn’t very popular with Class A RVs is the fact that they are so large. It is difficult to drive Class A RVs into remote areas without hookups or utilities, and you may find that your holding tanks and utility options onboard your RV won’t give you very much time to camp off-grid.

However, most RV manufacturers offer boondocking capabilities and amenities, even for Class A Motorhomes. Keep in mind that most of these amenities will be an additional cost rather than included standard, though you may get lucky depending on the manufacturer!

Towing Capabilities

It’s only natural to want to tow something with your Class A RV. Many campers choose motorhomes with the ability to tow a car or a boat behind them , depending on the camper’s needs.

If you plan on bringing your residential car or boat with you on your camping adventures, you should pay particular attention to the towing capacity on Class A RVs as you shop. You may find that most of the motorhomes that you’re interested in have no trouble towing, but you should always make sure that your numbers are accurate.

The last thing you should do is attempt to tow something that your Class A RV can’t handle. That’s why you should have a good idea of what your vehicle or boat weighs before you shop, even though this may be a bit of a nuisance at first.

One of the final and most obvious things that you should consider before purchasing a Class A RV is what exactly your budget is. Depending on the amenities and features that you prefer, Class A RVs can range dramatically in price.

You can spend anywhere from $100k to well over $500k, depending on what you are looking for, and some Class A RVs are over $1 million. This is why it is important to know what you are looking for and have a vision in mind as to how much you can practically spend before shopping!

Something to keep in mind before we dive into our list of some of the best Class A RVs with outdoor kitchens is the fact that many options have a listed purchase price, but this is not the price you typically end up paying. Many different amenities and features are not included in the standard purchase price, so definitely keep this in mind before you fall in love with anything!

If you’re feeling confident about your list of must-haves and wants, then take a look at our list of 11 of the best Class A RVs with outdoor kitchens. I’m sure with so many options you’ll find a layout and manufacturer that works perfectly for you! Let’s get started now.

Best Overall: Entegra Coach Vision

  • Beautiful and contemporary interior design
  • Large exterior awning covers your kitchen and entertainment center
  • Option to upgrade to a larger residential fridge
  • Price point may be high, especially for a gas Class A

There’s a lot to love about the Entegra Coach Vision, which is likely why it is our best overall pick. Available in 3 floor plans, though only one has an exterior kitchen, this Class A RV ranges in length from 28-32 feet, making it spacious but also easier to drive than many other options. Let’s check it out now!

The Vision floor plan with an exterior kitchen lies at just over 31 feet long, and it has an exterior awning that spans 23 feet of that. This leaves your entire exterior kitchen covered, which includes its own sink, cooktop, and mini fridge. This means you can do all of your cooking and prep outside, without disturbing any of your guests.

However, the interior of this RV is just as stunning as the exterior, if not more. Entegra Coach frequently infuses their rigs with a sense of luxury, and the luxury is often included under the standard purchase price. The same can be said for the Vision, as it has a number of fantastic features without you needing to spend an extra dollar.

The floor plan that has an exterior kitchen has a spacious bedroom, with a queen-size bed that you can walk around. The bathroom is centrally located, and there’s an option to have theater seating rather than a comfortable sofa. The interior kitchen is also fantastic, with multiple countertop options and a larger residential fridge, should you choose to upgrade.

Not only is there an outdoor kitchen on this class A RV, but there’s also an exterior entertainment center. There’s a stereo that’s Bluetooth-enabled, and an exterior television so that you can enjoy your time outside just as much as your time inside.

The main drawback of this RV has to be the price. Entegra Coach is reasonable compared to other options on this list, but they are frequently outside of many people’s budgets. Definitely check the cost on this one before you fall in love!

Most Compact Class A: Winnebago Sunstar

  • Good price point for many
  • Compact size is easy to drive
  • Contemporary and lovely interior design
  • Exterior kitchen needs a grill or cooktop

Starting at $188k, Winnebago has the Sunstar on offer for those of you seeking an outdoor kitchen. There’s only one available floor plan, but it is a perfect 30 feet in length, giving you enough interior sleeping arrangements for up to 5 people, and plenty to love outside as well. Let’s take a closer look at it now.

Winnebago has a lot to offer its RV customers nowadays, especially as it continually updates and upgrades its RVs based on demand. The Sunstar feels like a perfect blend of outdoor enthusiasts as well as family comfort, making it ideal for a lot of people.

Given the fact that the Sunstar is fairly compact, it is easy to drive and maneuver through RV parks and state parks. This likely gives you more peace of mind as you drive on highways and freeways, and you can even tow your residential car behind this RV with its 5,000 pound capacity.

In terms of interior design, the Sunstar comes in only a few color schemes. However, the upholstery and flooring options are contemporary and modern, keeping the inside of this RV light and bright with accented touches. It feels like a residential home inside, which may make this RV ideal for full-timers as well.

Something to note about the exterior kitchen on the Sunstar is the fact that it is part of a tailgating package offered by Winnebago. While it comes standard on board this RV, you should notice that it only has a propane connection and doesn’t have a cooktop of any type. However, you get an additional refrigerator as well as a paper towel holder and a bottle opener outside.

This RV is truly beautiful, inside and out, and it has a lot to offer RVers at any stage. The frameless windows give you some of the best views from the inside, and the large exterior awning keeps you comfortable outside. So long as you bring your own stove or propane grill, you should be set on this one!

Best for Large Families: Thor Windsport

  • Good price point, especially for the size
  • Bunk bed layout works well for families
  • Ability to go off grid if you want
  • Interior design is nothing special on this one

Thor often has family in mind when constructing its RVs, and it is obvious when you take a look at the floor plans available for the Windsport. Starting at $193k, the Thor Windsport has 2 available floor plans with exterior kitchens, and one is just perfect for large families. Let’s take a closer look at it now.

The exterior kitchen floor plans range in length from 30-35 feet long, and the 35-footer has bunk beds inside so that you can comfortably sleep up to 7 people. It has a walk around king size bed in the rear of the rig, in a private bedroom. The bathroom is centrally located across from the bunk beds so that everyone knows where everything is.

Plus, you can sleep even more people using the convertible dream dinette, the sofa area, and the overhead bunk above the driver’s cabin. Not only do you also get an exterior kitchen, but the interior kitchen is nothing to scoff at either. It is well appointed, with the pantry and fridge across the room from a spacious countertop and cooktop area.

Another perk of the Windsport is the fact that it starts at $193k. This is a great price point for a number of Class A RV shoppers, especially when you consider everything that comes standard. You get a minimal amount of solar prep in case you choose to go off-grid at all, as the Windsport has large holding tanks perfect for families .

The interior design is nothing special on this RV, though it is bright and modern. You can make a few selections, but for the most part, it is limited. However, there’s plenty to enjoy outside, especially with your exterior kitchen and entertainment center!

But what’s the catch? Make sure you bring something to hook up to your exterior propane line to complete your kitchen, as it doesn’t come with its own grill, stove top, or other appliance.

Best for Boondocking: Thor Miramar

  • 36 ft long makes it easy to drive
  • Many boondocking features included standard
  • Sleeps up to 7 people
  • Make sure this price point fits your budget

Strikingly similar to our last option from Thor, the Miramar has a bit more to offer those of you seeking some boondocking abilities, as well as a larger rig. The only floor plan that has an exterior kitchen reaches 36 feet in length, making it more spacious but still easy to drive. Let’s check it out now.

Just like the Windsport, you can get the Miramar with a spacious rear master bedroom area, though these wardrobes can be completed with washer and dryer preparation. This gives you more time to enjoy your off-grid living, especially given the fact that there is solar included standard on this rig.

Starting at $252k, you can no doubt guess that there’s more included in the initial purchase price on this Class A RV. You can sleep up to 7, and there’s optional theater seating as well as room for a larger residential fridge should you so choose. However, you do have a fridge on the exterior of the RV, as well as an entertainment center.

There’s a lot of luxury packed into this RV, including power protection and an onboard gas generator. You can get a quick start generator option, and this Class A RV comes equipped with two house batteries, with room for up to four on board. Plus, you have at least 100 watts of solar included standard , letting you spend more time on the road.

But it isn’t just boondocking features that are included standard. You also get a tankless hot water heater as well as two air conditioners, without paying anything extra. This keeps you comfortable year-round, no matter when you plan on camping.

The interior design on the Miramar is much more impressive compared to our last Thor Motor Coach option. It’s obvious that this is a more luxurious model compared to our past choices, and this is reflected in the purchase price. This Class A RV is ideal for a number of people, but just make sure that you can afford it first!

Best on a Budget: Coachmen Mirada

  • Fair price point for many budgets
  • Compact floor plans with plenty of sleeping space
  • Exterior kitchen complete with exterior entertainment center
  • Boring interior design

The Coachmen Mirada has a lot to offer its customers, especially those of you shopping on a budget. It has two available floor plans with exterior kitchens built-in and included standard, and there’s a lot more to love about this particular RV. Let’s check it out!

You can get an exterior kitchen on a 30 foot long RV or a 34 foot long RV, keeping things compact and easier to maneuver. The exterior kitchen needs a grill or cooktop, but it has a sink and a mini fridge. Plus, there’s an exterior entertainment center to keep you busy while you cook.

Depending on your feelings when it comes to interior design, you may want to spend more time outside rather than inside with this particular big. Not to say that it isn’t comfortable inside, with  plenty of space for a family of five, but it isn’t exactly stunning in terms of its design. It definitely needs some spicing up, but that’s what you’re here for!

Depending on the floor plan, you get a few perks that help this RV feel more like a residential home. For example, you can get a residential size refrigerator and an LED fireplace, as well as easy to clean laminate flooring and sleeping space for five to six people.

You even get washer and dryer prep and solar panels available on select floor plans , so make sure that you check on this before purchasing. However, one floor plan does include all of this as well as an exterior kitchen, so Coachmen is here to make your dreams come true!

The interior kitchen is also not something to scoff at, especially the smaller of these two floor plans which include a larger refrigerator. You can easily prep and cook everything you need, whether you are inside or outside of this RV. Coachmen wants you to feel comfortable camping, and that’s what this RV is best for!

Best Starter Class A: Holiday Rambler Admiral

  • Two floor plans that are compact but well-equipped
  • The best and most complete exterior kitchen so far
  • Bunk bed floor plan gives the kiddos a place to sleep
  • Interior design is a bit blah

Holiday Rambler doesn’t get mentioned on our lists very often, but this particular Class A RV may change that. The Admiral offers a number of different floor plans, though only two have exterior kitchens. However, these two floor plans are fantastic for those of you just starting off with a motor home. Let’s take a look at why this might be now.

The two exterior kitchen floor plans range in length- one option is 31 feet, while the other is 36 feet, giving you more sleeping arrangements and potential. In fact, the larger of the two floor plans gives you an enormous king size bed that you can walk around, as well as bunk beds located centrally on the rig .

The smaller floor plan also offers the same extravagant bed set up, toward the rear of the rig in a private room. However, the dining area on the smaller floor plan option has a unique L-shaped dinette. This is ideal for sitting down after cooking using either your interior or exterior kitchen. You can also convert this into an additional sleeping area.

One of the best parts about the Admiral is the fact that the exterior kitchen is well appointed. In fact, it has just about everything you need, especially compared to all of the other options we’ve talked about so far on this list. The exterior kitchen has a sink, mini fridge, microwave, and storage, giving you room to spread out and cook everything you could possibly want outside.

The interior design may be simplistic, but it offers you loads of overhead storage compartments. The storage continues outside, with exterior bins and pass thru storage areas. Plus, this rig starts at $153k, so it’s worth a look for a number of reasons!

Best for Families with Pets: Thor A.C.E.

  • Budget-friendly price point
  • Multiple floor plans with exterior kitchens
  • Special pet friendly features not found anywhere else
  • Needs a propane grill or cooktop

Starting at $187k, the A.C.E. offers a whole lot to families, especially families with pets. Not only is this rig budget friendly and easy to drive, but it also offers two unique floor plans with exterior kitchens. What makes this Class A special? Let’s check it out now.

Once you enter the RV, no matter the floor plan, you are greeted by a pleasant mudroom area. This area has storage and space to put your things, as well as attach your dog’s leash so that they don’t get too far into the RV if you don’t want them to. Plus, there’s a built-in kibble bowl so that you can feed your dog or cats with ease, rolling it back in when not in use.

Speaking of dogs, this Class A RV offers your beloved animals their very own window, toward the ground of the RV. This allows them to lay and watch the squirrels and birds, or whatever else they may find interesting in the great outdoors! Because camping should be fun for both humans and animals, right?

For this price point, the interior design has a lot to offer. You have a choice between a few different options, and the overall look is contemporary and warm. It is ideal for families with young children, as everything is easy to clean, including the vinyl flooring. Plus, the exterior of the RV has a kitchen and entertainment center so that you don’t have to spend too much time indoors anyway!

While you get an exterior sink and mini fridge, you should know that there is no cooktop or grill attached to this RV. You’ll need to bring your own or purchase it after the fact, which may be a disappointment to those of you hoping to hit the road right away. However, at this price point, there’s a whole lot to love at a very reasonable price.

Best Outdoor Entertainment Center: Fleetwood Flair

  • Two different lengths and floor plans with exterior kitchens
  • Huge awning covers your kitchen and entertainment area
  • Easy to clean and maintain for the long haul
  • Interior design is pretty basic overall

Starting at $153k, the Fleetwood Flair is a fantastic choice for those of you hoping to spend most of your time outdoors. Not only is there an exterior kitchen available on two different floor plans, but you also get a great outdoor entertainment center so that you don’t have to feel the need to come inside right away. Let’s check out what else makes this RV great now!

Similarly to the Admiral, you can get the Fleetwood Flair in either 31 foot long layout or a 36 foot long layout, depending on your needs. The 36 foot long floor plan may be a bit more difficult to drive , but it affords you bunk beds as well as a few other sleeping arrangements. It’s a shame that there are only two floor plans with exterior kitchens, but that seems to be the trend nowadays.

The Flair bills itself as an RV with just enough luxury, but not too much so that you don’t feel comfortable. This is a great rig for families, or those of you who simply don’t want to have to worry about protecting your interior every moment while you can. It’s a durable RV for a number of different lifestyles and preferences.

Depending on the floor plan you get, this RV has an exterior awning of just over 20 feet long. This covers your entertainment center and your kitchen, giving you even more options for enjoying the great outdoors, no matter the weather. Plus, you can easily clean any muddy shoes or hands in your exterior kitchen or shower.

There’s a lot to love about the Flair, but it may leave some of you feeling lacking. The interior design likely has something to do with this, given the fact that it isn’t anything to write home about. However, it’s all easy to clean and maintain, and at this price point, it’s hard to argue with!

Best for Full Timers: Coachmen Encore

  • Great size and floor plan for full timers
  • Outdoor kitchen comes well-equipped
  • Charming interior design with nice touches
  • Gasoline engine, not diesel

The Encore only has one available floor plan that has an exterior kitchen, but this particular model is ideal for full-timers. Even better for the full-time couple, the Encore offers a 35 foot long Class A RV with washer and dryer prep and many more great features. Let’s check them out!

One of the best things to note about the Encore is the fact that it has designated areas for everything. You have your king-size bedroom with wardrobes, a bathroom that is spacious and elegant, a washer and dryer prep outside of the bedroom so that it doesn’t keep you awake, and you have a separate dining area from your living space.

The exterior kitchen has a cooking area, a mini fridge, as well as a sink, which means you can do everything you want to do prep wise outside. Plus, there are even some storage cabinets, but there is a full-size pantry or linen cupboard inside if you run out of space outside.

Coachmen can provide you with a stackable washer and dryer at an extra price, as well as a freedom package that gives you extra house batteries and solar panels. There’s enough included with this additional package to power your RV for multiple days, and that’s impressive considering the size of this Class A RV.

So, what is the drawback to purchasing this rig, particularly if you are a full-timer? This Class A RV only comes with a gasoline engine, not a diesel one. There’s been a long debate regarding whether or not a gas RV or a diesel RV is best , and many full timers will tell you that diesel is the only way to go.

Regardless, the Encore offers a lot at a fair price, especially if you are looking for a bit more luxury!

Most Luxurious: Tiffin Phaeton

  • Beautiful interior design with many choices
  • Luxury meets practicality on this RV
  • Great outdoor entertainment area
  • Outdoor kitchen only has a grill

Speaking of luxury, you should definitely check out the Tiffin Phaeton if you are looking for something a bit more upscale. While it’s going to come at a price that you may not want to pay, let’s take a closer look at the Phaeton and all it has to offer its customers.

There are too many fantastic features to list about the Tiffin Phaeton. The interior design is stunning and luxurious, and the interior kitchen is far more impressive than the exterior one. This could be a potential drawback when it comes to purchasing this Class A for its outdoor kitchen – it only has an exterior grill, as opposed to an entire setup with a sink and mini fridge.

While some of you may think that this isn’t technically an exterior kitchen, it has plenty of storage surrounding it, as well as an impressive exterior entertainment center with a soundbar. When complete with an awning and plenty of friends, you likely won’t be missing the extra appliances and capabilities!

There’s crown molding throughout this RV, as well as rich upholstery and up to 3 interior design choices for the flooring and countertops alone. You can choose additional cupboard features, as well as how you want the exterior of your RV to be painted. There are a number of options on this one, which may make it stand out to you.

Not only is this RV beautiful, but it’s also durable. Tiffin has built this RV with generations in mind, on a strong chassis and made with durable fiberglass walls and roofs. While RV maintenance is always necessary, no matter the brand, Tiffin has tried to make it easy on its customers!

Whether it’s the number of choices or all of the Fantastic amenities available for this RV, it remains a favorite among Tiffin customers . However, the price point on this one may put it out of your budget, so make sure to check the price before you decide it’s the onefor you.

Runner-Up: Jayco Alante

  • Great price point and interior design
  • Ready to go exterior kitchen
  • Not too large, but still plenty of sleeping arrangements
  • Only 1 floor plan offers an exterior kitchen

Starting at $167k ,the Alante from Jayco has a lot to offer people at just about any budget. While I highly recommend reading our complete review of the Jayco brand name before making your final purchase, this Class A RV definitely has a lot to offer its customers. Let’s take a look at our runner-up for our best overall spot now.

There’s only one floor plan with an exterior kitchen, but both the floor plan and the kitchen itself should have everything you need. There’s a queen size bed along with multiple other sleeping areas so that you can bring a group of friends or the whole family with you. The interior kitchen is beautiful, should you choose to cook inside rather than out.

Speaking of beauty, the interior design on just about any Jayco RV is a step above the average RV manufacturer. This is because they use hardwood cabinetry and easy to clean vinyl flooring. They also have a few different interior design palettes and options for you to choose from, giving you more choices than you normally have for an RV at this price.

In terms of the outdoor kitchen, Jayco has given you a mini fridge, plenty of exterior storage, a sink, and the option for a propane grill hook-up. Plus, there’s an outdoor entertainment center, and the entire exterior of the rig is covered by a large 23 foot long awning. You can enjoy the great outdoors as long as you like, no matter what the weather is!

No matter how many people you are bringing with you or where you plan on going, the Jayco Alante is easy to drive and has plenty of space for everyone. It truly belongs in our best runner-up RV category, especially when you consider the great exterior kitchen on this one.

Final Thoughts

Finding a Class A RV with an outdoor kitchen doesn’t have to be complicated. With all of the available options on the market today, you can find something that’s right for you and the whole family. Just don’t forget to pack the fridge full of delicious things to cook outdoors!

First, make sure that both the valves are open, then using your striker turn the knob on and light it up.

How do you light an RV suburban outside stove?

First make sure that all the knobs are in the off position, open the oven door, and make sure that the gas does not smell. If the gas smells do not light the oven, if everything is clear turn the stove’s knob into a pilot position, hold tight the knob then go underneath and locate your pilot. Light it using a lighter or long matchstick.

Why Choose A Front Kitchen CamperTrailer?

Why Choose A Front Kitchen Travel Trailer

RVers choose a front kitchen camper trailer because of the unique and appealing design that caters to those who love cooking, entertaining, and enjoying a spacious living area.

Here are some reasons choosing a front kitchen camper trailer can enhance your RV experience.

Spacious and Functional Kitchen

A front kitchen layout provides ample counter space, storage options, and room for top-quality appliances. The increased space allows for more comfortable meal preparation and an overall improved cooking experience.

Enhanced Privacy

The front kitchen design creates a natural separation between the living and sleeping areas.

With the kitchen at the front of the trailer and the bedroom towards the rear, you’ll enjoy increased privacy and a more residential feel.

Open Living Space

A front kitchen layout often leads to a more open and spacious living area.

With the kitchen at the front, the living and dining spaces can be centrally located, creating a more inviting and comfortable atmosphere for socializing and relaxing.

Improved Weight Distribution

Positioning the kitchen and its heavier appliances towards the front of the trailer improves weight distribution, making towing more stable and handling smoother.

Unique Aesthetic Appeal

Front kitchen camper trailers offer a distinct look and feel compared to traditional designs.

The innovative floor plan sets them apart from other RVs, providing a refreshing change for those who desire something different from the standard layouts.

Panoramic Views

Many front kitchen camper trailers feature large windows in the kitchen area, allowing for impressive panoramic views while cooking and dining.

What Are The Cons Of Front Kitchen Camper Trailers?

What Are The Cons Of Front Kitchen Travel Trailers

While front kitchen camper trailers offer several advantages, it’s essential to consider the potential drawbacks before deciding if the design is right for you.

Here are some disadvantages associated with front kitchen camper trailers.

Limited Bedroom Space

Positioning the kitchen at the front of the trailer reduces the space for the bedroom.

Potential for Nose-Heavy Weight Distribution

Although front kitchen camper trailers can offer improved weight distribution, there is also a risk of the trailer becoming nose-heavy because of the weight of the kitchen appliances and storage.

Reduced Privacy in Kitchen Area

While the front kitchen layout enhances privacy for the sleeping area, it may compromise privacy for the kitchen.

Placing the kitchen near the entry door makes it more visible to passersby at campgrounds or rest stops.

Fewer Models to Choose From

Front kitchen camper trailers are less common than other layouts. Although some fantastic front kitchen models are available, your choices may be limited compared to trailers with more traditional layouts.

Potential for Reduced Resale Value

Because of their unique design, front kitchen camper trailers may have a smaller market when selling your RV.

Choosing less popular layouts may lead to a decrease in the resale value compared to more popular ones.

Cook and Dine Under the Stars: Best RVs with Outdoor Kitchens

By Interact RV Support

If you love spending time outdoors and exploring new places, an RV with an outdoor kitchen might be perfect for you. RVs have become popular for travel and adventure, and having an outdoor kitchen can enhance your camping experience. Here are some reasons to consider choosing an RV with an outdoor kitchen:

Outdoor kitchen

Enjoy the Outdoors While Cooking:

One of the best things about camping is being able to spend time in nature. With an RV equipped with an outdoor kitchen, you can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings while preparing your meals. Instead of being cooped up inside a cramped kitchen, you can cook outside and soak in the sights and sounds of the great outdoors.

impression

Expand Your Cooking Options:

Having an outdoor kitchen in your RV gives you the opportunity to expand your cooking options. You can grill mouthwatering steaks, burgers, and vegetables or even bake pizzas and pies using a portable oven hooked up to an outdoor electrical plug in the camp kitchen. The added flexibility allows you to create delicious meals that you and your travel companions will love.

Keep the Interior Clean:

Cooking inside an RV can sometimes lead to lingering odors and a buildup of heat. By utilizing an outdoor kitchen, you can minimize cooking smells and prevent the interior of your RV from becoming too hot and stuffy. This keeps the living area clean, fresh, and comfortable for everyone.

Host Outdoor Gatherings:

With an RV equipped with an outdoor kitchen, you can become the ultimate host and entertain your friends and family in the great outdoors. Whether it’s a small gathering or a full-blown party, having an outdoor kitchen allows you to easily prepare and serve food, making your RV the go-to spot for socializing and enjoying good company.

Embrace the Camping Lifestyle:

Camping is all about embracing a simpler, more adventurous way of life. Choosing an RV with an outdoor kitchen aligns perfectly with this mindset. It encourages you to spend more time outside, cook over an open flame, and connect with nature. It’s a way to fully immerse yourself in the camping lifestyle and make unforgettable memories.
