PROVO — You're going to want to "Remember This": The Freedom Festival announced Friday the headliner act for the 2024 Stadium of Fire concert will be the famous pop band the Jonas Brothers.

Stadium of Fire, held on Independence Day each year, is one of the largest events in Utah and has been a tradition for many since its inception in 1980. The concert is presented by America's Freedom Festival, which organizes dozens of patriotic activities for the holiday that more than 500,000 people attend.

The Jonas Brothers last graced LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2009, and the festival has been wanting them to return ever since, festival executive director Jim Evans said, adding that he hoped it would happen before the "Year 3000."

"We're delighted to welcome them back to Provo! They are one of the most electrifying — and of the most fun! — musical groups performing anywhere in the world right now," Evans said.

The JoBros, as some fans affectionately call Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas, formed the band in 2005 and gained popularity through appearances on Disney Channel, including the "Camp Rock" movies and their own TV series titled "Jonas."

After a more than six-year hiatus when the brothers pursued solo projects, the band reunited in 2019 and fans across the world were "Sucker"s for the five-time platinum smash hit the band released that received a Grammy nomination.

With six albums, the New Jersey-raised brothers have truly found their "Wings" as they've sold more than 20 million albums, earned 26 Billboard Hot 100 hits, logged three consecutive No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 and generated billions of streams.

This year's concert is anticipated to be one of the biggest Independence Day extravaganzas in the stadium's history. Along with music that will have you saying "Happiness Begins" here, attendees get to experience the nation's largest stadium fireworks show that will have them "Burnin' Up."

Additionally, the event includes a flyover of jets from Utah's Hill Air Force Base, tributes to military and civilian heroes, a performance from the Rockwell Uncommon Skydive Team and an appearance from the Las Vegas-based Zion's Youth Symphony and Chorus.

This announcement will have many fans feeling "Like It's Christmas," but they will have to be "Paranoid" and "Hold On" for one more week before tickets go on sale to the general public at noon on March 22. Freedom Festival email subscribers will have early access that morning.

With a stadium capacity of 63,470, concert hopefuls will need to be ready, or they'll end up screaming "S.O.S." and "What a Man Gotta Do" to get tickets.

KSL-TV is holding a contest Friday night to give away a pair of tickets for Stadium of Fire. The winner will be revealed during the 10 p.m. newscast.

The Altabank Stadium of Fire performance will again be produced and directed by the Emmy award-winning production team of Baruch/Gayton Entertainment Group. The event will also be televised to more than 100 countries through the American Forces Network.

Notable past Stadium of Fire performers include the Osmonds, who created Stadium of Fire, the Beach Boys, Kenny Loggins, Kurt Bestor, Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Miley Cyrus, Brian Regan, Journey, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, the Blue Man Group, David Archuleta, Tim McGraw, One Republic and Keith Urban.

"Look Me in the Eyes" and tell me you aren't excited for the "Cool" show that is happening this "Summer Baby."

Standing out as one of the most successful music groups in decades, Jonas Brothers —Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas—have sold north of 20 million albums and counting, garnered two Grammy Award nominations, earned 26 Billboard Hot 100 hits, logged three consecutive No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 and generated billions of streams. Among many accolades, they’ve recently claimed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 2019, they notably ignited the comeback of the decade with their Platinum-Certified Republic Records debut, Happiness Begins . It yielded the history-making, 5x-Platinum smash “Sucker,” which minted them as the first group in the 21st century to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100, exploded as the longest running No. 1 Pop Airplay Single of 2019 and received a Grammy Award nomination in the category of “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.” In 2023, Jonas Brothers once again proved they are a constant force, embarking on a new era with the release of The Album , featuring hit singles “Waffle House” and “Wings.”

Jonas Brothers Promise ‘Five Albums Every Night’ on North American Tour

By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

The Jonas Brothers will dig into their own “eras” bag with a new North American tour that will find them performing “five albums every night.” A few weeks before its kick-off, the band has extended their biggest tour yet with the addition of 26 new shows in North America and 27 new shows in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

“The Tour,” as it’s being called, appears to build off the band’s recent Broadway residency , during which they played one of their albums in its entirety each night, along with a selection of hits. The shows covered 2007’s self-titled up through their new LP, The Album , released May 12 (no luck for fans of 2006’s It’s About Time ).

Anyway, “The Tour” will kick off with the band’s two previously-announced how’s at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Aug. 12 and 13. The run was originally scheduled to wrapping on Oct. 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Now, it will continue with a show at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Oct. 18 and extend through June 20, when it will conclude with a show in Northern Ireland. The new dates include shows in Brooklyn, Portland, Newark, Nashville, Vancouver, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and more.

The touring news comes just 10 days ahead of the May 12 release of The Album , the Jonas Brothers’ first record since 2019’s Happiness Begins . Kevin, Joe and Nick have effectively been working toward The Tour since February, when they staged a five-night run of intimate shows on Broadway in New York. Each night, they played a different one of their albums, starting with 2007’s self-titled LP and ending with the live debut of The Album .

In April, the guys played two sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium in New York, both of which included run-throughs of all five of the albums spread out across five nights on Broadway two months prior. This format will now be applied to every night of The Tour , as explained by Kevin, Joe and Nick in an Instagram announcement video.

ABOUT JOURNEY

Since the group's formation in 1973, JOURNEY has earned 19 top 40 singles, 25 gold and platinum albums, and has sold over 100 million albums globally. Their "Greatest Hits" album is certified 15 times-platinum, making JOURNEY one of the few bands to ever have been diamond-certified, and their song "Don't Stop Believin'" has been streamed over one billion times alone.

JOURNEY was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, and 2018's co-headlining tour with DEF LEPPARD was the band's most successful tour to date, landing them in the Top 10 year-end touring chart with more than 1 million tickets sold, and earning them the prestigious Billboard "Legends Of Live" touring award. March 2019 saw the release of "Escape & Frontiers Live In Japan", a live DVD/CD set from their concert at the Budokan in Tokyo featuring the band's first-ever performances of the albums "Escape" and "Frontiers" in their entirety. JOURNEY has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and were inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame. Additionally, the band is the subject of the award-winning documentary "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" about the band's resurgence upon adding Arnel Pineda as lead singer after JOURNEY Founder, Neal Schon discovered the Philippines native on YouTube.

The members of TOTO are celebrating an accomplishment few bands have achieved in the modern era. Cumulative streams of the ensemble’s repertoire

now exceed 3 billion plays. Amongst the most listened to recordings, “Africa” accounts for over one billion streams at Spotify alone. This year the song was recertified by the RIAA 8X Platinum.

Over the past decade, the band has had a major renaissance in popularity like few bands at this point in their career. The audience is truly multi-generational, becoming younger with each passing year. Joining Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams are band members bassist John Pierce (Huey Lewis and The News), drummer Robert “Sput” Searight (Ghost-Note, Founding member Snarky Puppy, Snoop Dogg), keyboardist Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (Prince, Ghost-Note), multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Warren Ham (Ringo Starr) and keyboardist / background vocalist Steve Maggiora,. This line-up marks the fifteenth incarnation of Toto in consideration of band members or sidemen who joined or exited. Individually and collectively, few have had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO. The family tree can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with hundreds of Grammy nominations.

With now 45+ years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest selling album of all time: Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and accolades to their names, TOTO remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production, and they continue to transcend the standards set by the entire music community, being simply synonymous with musical credibility. They are pop culture and are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles continuing to remain relevant.

Jonas Brothers Tease Upcoming Tour as the 'Most Ambitious Show' They've Ever Done: 'Truly a Celebration' (Exclusive)

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas open up to PEOPLE about what fans can expect from their upcoming tour, which kicks off Saturday at Yankee Stadium

jonas freedom tour

When it came time for the Jonas Brothers to map out their upcoming tour, they knew there was only one plan of attack: go big or go home.

That’s how the trio ended up booking Yankee Stadium as the first two stops on their “ambitious” new run of dates called The Tour, which they promise will cover their entire history as a band.

“We said, let’s make it really easy on ourselves and we should do the first show at one of the biggest venues we’re playing on this tour,” Joe jokes to PEOPLE during a recent sit-down in New York City. “[But] I think we built a beautiful show for people to come see.”

Joe, 33, Nick , 31, and Kevin Jonas , 35, have plenty to pull from. They’ve teased that The Tour will include material from five different albums, including their most recent, The Album , which came out in May, and previous hits like 2019’s Happiness Begins and 2008’s A Little Bit Longer .

“It’s our most ambitious show we’ve ever put on, in the sense that building out five albums in one night was a challenge that I don’t think we fully understood after we’d already put it on sale,” says Nick. “[But] it’s amazing to just go back and look at the road that brought us to this moment now.”

Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images

Combing through such a massive catalog in order to put together a setlist was no easy task. Kevin says he and his siblings eased into the process by looking at tracklists from each record—but arranging them in a way that flowed best was “the hard part.”

Still, revisiting blasts from the past on the tour — which is sponsored by EVO ICL, the vision correction procedure used by Joe and Kevin — made for some fun surprises.

“The first self-titled album has some jams on it,” says Joe. “We performed a dress rehearsal with about 200 fans, and it was really nice to see the reactions to some of the medleys, or, we call them mosaics, that we put together of certain songs that it would be difficult to play the entire song—we kind of blend them together. Seeing the reactions and how they responded, that was some of my favorite stuff.”

For Nick, who recorded the group’s earliest albums when he was still a teenager, it’s also been fun to revisit the songs of his youth with an older, more mature voice.

“Going through voice changes while making these albums added an unnecessary level of grit to some of the vocal delivery,” he says. “I think as we’ve settled into our adult voices, it’s fun to sing them in a more mature and thoughtful vocal delivery.”

Emma McIntyre/Getty Images

This go-round is also special for Nick as it’s the first time that he’s able to bring his family along for the ride. He and wife Priyanka Chopra welcomed daughter Malti Marie in January 2022, and she got to see dad in action for the first time during a recent soundcheck at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

“She loves music, so it’s fun to have her there,” he says. “This is the first time [I’m] touring as a father, and it’s a crazy new adventure every day. I think it’s the greatest part of still getting to do this with them now, is to see that the second generation of Jonases are going to experience it and make it fresh for all of us in a whole new way. It’s going to be amazing.”

That new generation includes Kevin’s daughters Valentina, 6, and Alena, 9, with wife Danielle, plus Joe’s daughter Willa, 3, and a baby girl born last July to him and wife Sophie Turner . The group’s new song “Little Bird,” which features on The Album , is an ode to their little girls.

“Even just the dress rehearsal, it’s the first time we’ve seen how it’s affecting people in their own lives and what their connection is to it,” Nick says of the song. “Obviously for us it’s about our specific journey in parenting, but I think the song is really meant to be an anthem for every person who is a parent, is a child or has a connection with somebody that they look up to and what that relationship looks like.”

With 90 dates ahead of them, the brothers Jonas already have plans as to how they’ll spend their downtime. In addition to golf—both in real life and virtually on Xbox—the trio are big fans of a dice game called pass the pigs.

“I have it in my pocket, actually. We literally take this with us everywhere we go,” Joe says, as Kevin jokingly offers to end the interview and start up a round.

Adds Nick: “This show is a lot physically, so where in the past we used to go and play golf or play a softball game and do all these physical activities before the gig, 30+ now I think we’re just going to probably be chilling in the AC reading a book or playing video games.”

For now, though, the pigs will have to wait, as the “Sucker” singers have some shows to play. When all is said and done, they’ll have done 90 performances in 20 countries—and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

“If you’re an OG superfan or if you’re more into the new stuff, I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised and have a great time,” says Joe. “There’s something for everybody.”

The Tour kicks off Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

Jonas Brothers have announced that The Tour will journey to Latin America on their epic global outing in 2024. Their long-awaited South America return, which is 10 years in the making, will see the band perform in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina, along with three performances across Mexico.

Produced by Live Nation, The Tour is their most ambitious outing to date with 98 shows across 26 countries. Every night is a celebration of five albums and features their best hits throughout the years including a variety of career-spanning deep cuts and fan-favorite hits.

Their monumentally successful North American run, which hit legendary venues including Toronto’s Rogers Centre, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, and Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, concluded this weekend at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. In 2024, The Tour will continue its trek around the globe starting in New Zealand in February.

They will perform for the first time ever in Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, Hamburg, Lyon, Munich, and Norway. Fans in international territories can watch their TODAY Show appearance for a behind-the-scenes look of The Tour.

The last time we heard new music from the trio was in August, when they released a reimagined rendition of “The Beautiful Letdown,” the beloved title track from Switchfoot’s  celebrated 2003 LP.

“The Beautiful Letdown (Jonas Brothers Version)” retains the slow-burning intensity of the 2003 original while incorporating a string section to compliment the Jonas Brothers’ trademark harmonies. Produced by longtime collaborator John Fields, the new track showcases the Jonas Brothers’ vocal chemistry and highlights the band’s reverence for Switchfoot’s timeless songwriting.

Speaking about the track, The Jonas Brothers noted: “We grew up listening to their album  The Beautiful Letdown  and ‘Meant To Live’ was a huge influence for us. We’ve seen them a ton of times live and we always wanted to work with their music producer (John Fields).

Journey to celebrate 50th anniversary with 30 shows in 2024: See where they're headed

jonas freedom tour

Journey is continuing the celebration of its five-decade career with a run of 2024 shows.

The 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Mississippi and will play 30 dates in North America through April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Sept. 29 via ticketmaster.com.

Toto, which supported Journey on their tour earlier this year to celebrate their "Freedom" album, will again join Journey founder, guitarist Neal Scho n, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, lead singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen as show openers.

Journey's tour finds the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers tearing through a set list of anthems including "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Be Good to Yourself" and, of course, "Don't Stop Believin'."

When "Freedom" arrived in July 2022, Schon told USA Today that the album title was originally tapped for the band's 1986 release, "Raised on Radio," but then-singer Steve Perry didn't like it, "so we sat on it for many years … when we were tossing around album titles said, why not just call the whole thing 'Freedom?' It's for the times right now."

Schon was also sanguine when reflecting on the band’s legacy.

"It’s quite an accomplishment and I’m very proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve gotten through emotional and personnel changes and survived," he said. "It’s pretty mind-boggling but also a lot of hard work."

The Jonas Brothers tour brought the hits and a song for a newly engaged couple to Phoenix

T he Jonas Brothers were clearly enjoying the opportunity to go a bit off script in downtown Phoenix on Saturday, April 6, after eight months of touring a tightly-scripted overview of their career that found them playing five albums a night, at times combining the tiniest taste of as many as nine songs in a single medley.

They played portions of 64 songs when Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour hit Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix in September 2023 .

Seven months later, their headlining set at the 2024 March Madness Music Festival at Margaret T. Hance Park found them trimming the sails to 18 songs, including one they hadn't meant to play but slipped in to celebrate a young couple getting engaged as Joe Jonas was singing the perfectly suitable "Camp Rock" soundtrack ballad "Gotta Find You."

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

It was a brilliant example of living in the moment, Nick Jonas teeing up a fantastic rendition of Earth, Wind & Fire's "September" with "We had another song picked, but we're gonna switch it up just to fully celebrate this moment. This is our best version of being a wedding band, so this is our gift to you."

And it sounded amazing, hitting all the necessary high notes with joyous aplomb.

According to setlist.fm , this is only the fifth time they've covered "September" in concert.

'Did you guys propose?': Jonas Brothers sing to couple who got engaged at Phoenix concert

The Jonas Brothers played 'Cake By the Ocean' and 'S.O.S.'

And yet, it felt like a perfectly natural extension of their evolution from the effervescent power-pop of the Disney Channel classics "S.O.S" and "Year 3000" to the falsetto-laden funk of "Summer Baby," "Waffle House" and the euphorically received rendition of "Cake By the Ocean," a massive hit for the Joe Jonas side project DNCE that's earned more than 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.

They set the tone for Saturday's performance with "Celebrate!," a suitably welcoming highlight of their latest album, 2023's "The Album," and kept the focus squarely on their recent output as they followed through with current single "Strong Enough" and 2020's "What a Man Gotta Do."

Then, Joe broke the news that "you're all gonna be on TV," further encouraging fans with a helpful reminder that "the crazier you go, the better chances you're on TV."

And in case that didn't do it, he added, "And I really don't want you to let me down. I was born in Case Grande, Arizona. And I need Arizona to show up."

With that, the stage was set for "Waffle House," another highlight of "The Album."

Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas: Disney heartthrobs to enduring headliners

It's kind of amazing to witness three brothers who launched their careers as Disney Channel heartthrobs put the focus squarely on their recent catalog while still inspiring the sort of adulation that greeted their earliest efforts.

Few teen idols have managed the transition to adulthood as successfully as these three brothers.

At the same time, there was no mistaking the excitement in the air when Joe announced their intention to "take you back a couple years" before blowing the dust off "S.O.S.," their first Top 20 single, released in 2007, which they followed with another pop hit from the same self-titled breakthrough, "Play My Music."

"That one was from a movie called 'Camp Rock,'" Joe told the fans, as though they needed a reminder (they did not). "I feel like we should play one more from that era."

That's when they launched into a second "Camp Rock" classic, "Gotta Find You," inspiring one of many massive singalongs.

More Jonas Brothers tour highlights: 'Lovebug' and 'Year 3000'

Before the set was through, they'd reached back to their first Top 40 single, a cover of Busted's "Year 3000," and worked their way through early hits as undeniable as "When You Look Me in the Eyes," "Burnin' Up" (on which the fans supplied the guest rap) and a truly transcendent performance of "Lovebug" (my pick for the song that every doubter needs to hear).

They ended the set with a solid reminder that they've made it through the inevitable downturn in their fortunes as teen idols and emerged victorious with hits as worthy as "Sucker" and the Marshmello collaboration "Leave Before You Love Me."

It's rare to see teen idols earn a second act. The Jonas Brothers have not only managed to cross the divide, they've done it in a way that seems as natural as the Beatles going from "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to "Rubber Soul."

There was a lengthy break in the action when someone in the audience appeared to require medical assistance and the Jonas Brothers paused the concert, leaving the stage for several minutes while security tended to the person.

But whatever momentum that cost them was quickly regained when they launched into the ballad "When You Look Me in the Eyes" after Nick assured the fans "Nothing matters to us more than your safety," following through with a joyous singalong on "Year 3000."

JOURNEY and TOTO previously joined forces for an early 2022 U.S. arena tour.

JOURNEY is continuing to promote its latest album, "Freedom" , which was released in July via BMG . The LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Current Rock chart.

The members of JOURNEY celebrated the album's release by kicking off a residency featuring special symphony orchestra performances at the new, state-of-the-art Resorts World Casino in Las Vegas.

As JOURNEY 's legend continues to grow larger and their touring gets bigger, "Freedom" is the band’s first album of new material to be released in eleven years, since 2011's "Eclipse" , and in addition to Schon , along with longtime keyboard player and primary lyricist Cain and Pineda , one more member was recruited for the LP — bassist extraordinaire Randy Jackson , who had played on JOURNEY 's 1986 album "Raised On Radio" .

Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, JOURNEY has 25 gold and platinum albums, with total sales adding up to over 100 million albums worldwide, earning the band two Diamond Awards with a third on the way for the "Frontiers" album. JOURNEY has also surpassed one billion streams on Spotify .
