About Heritage Cruise Binh Chuan

Put into operation in 2019 as a new 5-star cruise, this 4-story work of art reflects the golden time of the Indochine period. Bearing the iconic embarks of the first ship by Bach Thai Buoi, Heritage Binh Chuan promises a luxury stay right above the emerald water of Lan Ha Bay.

Heritage Binh Chuan's built-in 20 boutique cabins, including 6 Delta Suites, 10 Ocean Suites, 2 Captain Suites, and 2 Regal Suites. Despite having a different design, all units are spacious, ranging from 33 to 46 sqm, and clad with high-end amenities.

The design is mainly inspired by the Indochine style but still able to express the tradition and culture of past time. With the intention of maximizing the coverage of natural lights, arched staircases and large windows are used everywhere. The cabins have their own private balconies and a large bathroom with huge glass windows for green Bay vista.

The first two floors of the cruise are distributed for visitors’ cabins - Delta and Captain Suite stand next to the wine cellar on the 1st floor, Ocean and Regal are on the 2nd - while the remaining floors are adorned for dining and entertainment purposes. There is a large sun lounge for multi activities such as morning Vovinam, outdoor cooking class, event parties, afternoon tea, or just simply lying on the benches to admire the stunning Bay.

Moreover, the only seasonal pool of Lan Ha cruise, and one of the largest onboard swimming pools, located on the top floor, will absolutely satisfy the need for a dip. For guests craving Vietnamese local food and international dishes, L’Indochine and Le Tonkin restaurants, a wine cellar, and a lounge bar can serve. Breakfast and lunch will be Asia plus Western buffet, dinner will be of fine dining style, small kids have their own custom-made order menu.

There is also a piano lounge, an art gallery, and a boutique spa for other relaxing experiences. Along with flexible tours and exciting activities, the cruise is on fire to bring an unforgettable cultural experience for every Vietnam traveler.

Cruise itinerary

You will be greeted at your hotel in the Old Quarter to take the new highway to Tuan Chau Pier (if book our shuttle bus).

Board the Heritage Cruise's boat and enjoy a welcome drink as you receive a cruise briefing, safety instructions and check in to your suite. Lunch is served at L’Indochine Restaurant. Later cruise to Da Chong islet, where you can see a heritage lighthouse built by the French more than 100 years ago. After lunch, cruise to Gia Luan Lagoon where limestone karst formations rise out of the sea. This quiet bay is untouched and remote, as not many cruise ships visit. At 15:30 the cruise vessel approaches the Ba Trai Dao beach (or Tra Bau) in Lan Ha Bay, a natural frontier between the provinces of Halong and Haiphong. This secret hideaway has beaches, caves and the spectacular natural beauty of about 400 islands. Guests can try kayaking or simply swim in the clear waters of the bay.

Activities include afternoon tea and the chef will lead a Vietnamese cooking class. Afterwards, a memorable dining experience will be offered at the restaurant, with local food in an intimate and romantic setting. Enjoy evening views of the bay at the bar on the top deck. Try your hand with squid fishing. The bars are open until late.

The cruise will then pass the Da Chong islet where the ancient French lighthouse still resides. After lunch, the vessel will anchor at Gia Luan Lagoon, where rock formations take place and tourist routes vanish. Then, all approach Ba Trai Dao Beach (or Tra Bau), the natural border between Halong Bay and Hai Phong. There are over 400 islets with a long coastline and many magnificent limestone caves hidden behind the emerald water. Kayaking and swimming are the most awaited activities. Afternoon rounds off with a relaxing time in public areas. Cocktails are served on the sun deck.

Amazing for the whole journey. Heritage Binh Chuan was fabulous. We booked a Captain room for a 2-night stay. The room was very elegant and neat. All places the boat stopped at were amazing. Terms & conditions, cancellation & refund policy.

Later changes or downward adjustments to the number of guests of the reservation will be considered a late cancellation and a fee will be applied as below. An upward adjustment will be confirmed and charged based on the situation of actual availability.

Cancellation policy for Charter Cruises

*** In case of bad weather, the fee will be applied as follows:

All cruises in Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay which want to stop overnight in the Bay must be licensed to manage the Bay and provide safe service.

In the days of bad weather (rainstorms, high winds, big waves, etc.), the Bay management board will consider giving a license or not to the overnight cruise provider to ensure the safety of tourists.

In such a case, we will apply the following policies:

Bad Weather Conditions: In case the cruise program is affected by bad weather, Heritage Cruises is entitled to cancel all or part of the cruise schedule. Surcharges will apply as follows:

  • Cancellation before 11am on the departure date: Full refund.
  • Lunch 1,528,000 VND per person will be charged if port authority cancels day or overnight cruise due to weather conditions, and the program is curtailed. The balance paid will be refunded.
  • Day cruise program (if the program is curtailed and only lunch and 3-4-hour shore excursions are possible), the charge will be 2,350,000 VND/person/day. The balance paid will be refunded.
  • Cruise cancellation charge in the event the 3-day/2-night cruise is shortened :

The Bay Management Board often gives notice to cancel the overnight sleep permit, possibly while you are on the tour. In such situations, we would like to ask for your understanding about it.

The rainy season from August to October in Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay often has very unusual weather conditions, so overnight cruises in the bay can be canceled unexpectedly, and often with very late notice.

In all cases, please contact our staff, we will always do our best to ensure your satisfaction

Can’t wait to cruise on the Heritage again!

Amazing experience on the Heritage. My wife and I booked the largest suite and were very happy with the room and features. Be booked the all inclusive option and enjoyed a massage each day and no worrying about being charged for every little thing on the boat. I would highly recommend this cruise. We loved the speedboat ride to the village and riding bikes down into the small valley where the village was. The swim afterwards was a nice treat on our own private beach. I caught a squid off the boat (with some excellent coaching from Karen at the reception desk) and the chef (Thuy) cooked it up for me. It was delicious and I highly recommended trying to catch your own. Nam was our main waiter and very attentive. He saw to all our needs and was engaging and friendly. The other staff that were a great help were Mac and Ly. All of the staff spoke great English. The food was top notch (one more mention for Chef Thuy)! Chris was our cruise manager and a pleasure to meet. Bottom line, if you are looking for a luxury Lan Ha Bay /Ha Long Bay experience, book the Heritage.

heritage cruise halong bay review

Just came off our cruise today and already wish we were back! This was the trip of a lifetime and we could not have asked for more. We ended up on Heritage after two other cruises cancelled (so this was our third time lucky) and how lucky we were!!!! Absolutely stunning boat, with an amazing pool on the deck and cocktail bar. Our room was absolutely unreal- the bath tub view is to die for! The highlight for us though was the staff, we felt like royalty for two days and they could not have done more for us. So attentive and an absolute credit. Shoutout to manager Chris (thanks for looking after my pink fan!), chef Thuy for looking after me with my gluten allergy- his food is absolutely beautiful and we could not fault a thing. Shoutout to Mac for always being so helpful and lovely, and to Dat for taking us out on the day tour/bike ride- SOOO much fun! You will not regret booking this boat :) we hope to be back one day. Thanks Heritage for the best memories, Katie and Tom (the one who actually caught a squid!) from Sydney xx

heritage cruise halong bay review

The boat had beautiful big rooms with large balcony and an amazing bathroom. Chris our onboard cruise manager was very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, and the onboard actives were great. Even did a mini cooking class. We were lucky enough to spot some monkey's on our cave tour.

heritage cruise halong bay review

The boat is stunning, rooms spacious and beautiful as was the view from the bed and deck. Staff were amazing! Kudos to Mac, William, Dat, Tan, Li and Mui. Special thanks to Karen, manager and Chef Son.

Atmospheric cruise ship with a luxurious feeling of the past, yet all the modern comforts. A super relaxing cruise among the beautiful island of ha long bay. Food is amazing and the staff really attentive. They modified the food to satisfy our dietary requirements. The activities were fun and informative. I would definitely recommend it. A special thanks goes to Chris and his team.

A quintessential expedition ship at its core, Violet Cruise is notable for its small passenger count, luxurious accommodations, and impeccable services. More significantly, the balance between French-Indochina design and modern comfort makes this small vessel outstanding. Violet Cruise creates an ordinary itinerary that allows visitors to explore Halong Bay up close.

+ Heritage Line - Violet cruise is exclusive with beautifully designed suites and up-to-date in-room amenities. + Services are good and staff are friendly and helpful.

- The itinerary is a bit rushed. It would be better to have more time for swimming. - Halong Bay is disappointedly touristy and dirty.

Bottom Line

This boutique boat offers small expedition groups the ultimate in laid-back luxury and comfort.

Itinerary & activities

Violet Cruise offers a well-researched sailing route to the most remarkable landmarks of the bay. You will take a pleasant bamboo boat to visit Cua Van floating village where houses a museum and various floating homes. Cruise quality

Resembling old-fashioned Asian junk, the 12-guest traditional boat features wooden floors and opulent furnishings. Being opened for years, the ship is not new, but you still enjoy a comfortable stay with subtle interior decoration and high-quality cabins.

Cabin quality

Sustainable design and state-of-the-art amenities inside 6 staterooms bring you a relaxing and classy experience. All cabins are spacious and well-appointed with a 6sqm private balcony and a Jacuzzi.

Our guest's experiences (10).

Without hesitation, I recommend this cruise as a 100% must-experience journey. The suites were elegant and stunning in Indochina style. Activities and relaxation onboard were beyond amazing. However, what truly set this voyage apart was the exceptional crew. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Thank Violet cruise and the crew so much!

Violet Cruise was definitely one of the best choices for luxurious cruises on Halong Bay. It had a very lovely team of staff, attentive services and delectable food. All programs and activities onboard made it memorable for us for a lifetime!

The cruise hospitality was incredible. We were served delightful meals and beverages onboard. The cruise excursions brought us an authentic and tranquil appreciation of the bay’s beauty. We actively participated in a lot of water-based activities and had a lot of fun. Appreciate the team at Heritage for this remarkable experience!

We’ve just back from the cruise last week! The culinary offerings were exceptional with a full range of seafood delights and a captivating spring roll crafting session. Regrettably, the one drawback was the pollution in the bay with pretty much plastic bottles and waste. Hope this situation will soon be improved.

The trip was well-rounded for a family cruise vacation on Halong Bay. We traveled in a group of four people, including two children aged 11 and 13. The journey was arranged appropriately and left an indelible mark on our memories. The crew encompassed everything well in a warm-hearted and helpful manner. Spa services provided us with a revitalizing experience while our kids also had their own places to play.

We embarked on Violet Cruise from the 10th to the 12th of June 2023, and the tour was exceptional, leaving us reluctant to part ways. The journey was well-researched to cover the best parts of Halong Bay with fun-filling activities. Really appreciate the ship and the crew. Hope to visit again!

The trip and adventures were awesome! I had a pleasant visit to the fishing village and the island. There were a lot of activities to do there and I especially enjoyed the marvelous cave. The food onboard was acceptable with adequate portions but I expected more options for European dishes because I could not get used to Asian-style food.

I and my friends had a pleasant trip to Halong Bay with Violet Cruise. Everything comes just right and enjoyable. We really look forward to seeing the cruise and cabin staff again, they were so amazing and helpful!

The cruise was modern and very tidy, attentive to every detail. The spacious balcony brought us an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The food menu was good with multi-course meals and sumptuous drinks. Highly recommended this cruise.

I and my family were thoroughly delighted by this overnight cruise. We booked it through visithalongbay.com and received a good rate. The culinary offerings were exceptional too, and we relished the short trips to the floating village, caves, and the pre-dinner light cooking demonstration. Undoubtedly, this is an experience to cherish and remember fondly.

Is Halong Bay worth visiting? Want an honest Halong Bay cruise review?

The Halong Bay cruise price can be pretty steep – compared to the cheap travel costs of the rest of Vietnam. So is Halong Bay worth it ? That’s a legit question and I will share my experience and honest review of Halong Bay cruises in this post.

But if you have no time to read the in-depth evaluation and want a quick answer to your question on whether you should visit Halong Bay, here it is:

Halong Bay is worth a visit if you visit the less touristy areas in Halong Bay and opt for a budget-friendly Halong Bay cruise – one that provides excellent service, packs a tourist-friendly Halong Bay itinerary, and serves great food.

In other words, I feel splurging on a luxury 3-day Halong Bay cruise may not feel worth it, especially if you have been to other areas in Vietnam such as Ninh Binh which are scenic and much cheaper. But a 2-day 1 night – overnight Halong Bay cruise would feel worth your time and money if you choose a high-end cruise.

In this article, I would – share my personal experience of the Halong Bay cruise and what to expect on a Halong Bay cruise – talk about ways in which you could ensure that your Halong Bay experience feels worth it – suggest which cruise to opt for and how much to spend on a Halong Bay cruise – discuss a few strong negatives of Halong Bay that could ruin your Halong Bay journey and – elaborate on what you should do to avoid these Halong Bay mistakes.

What is Halong Bay?

Halong Bay Beauty - What is it?

Halong Bay has been recognized as a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site . It is a unique area with about 1600 small islands and islets. But what makes Halong bay beautiful is its lovely emerald water and countless limestone pillars. The seascape at Halong Bay is truly unique and a sight to behold.

It is one of the most Instagrammed spots in all of Vietnam and a famous tourist destination. As a result, you will find plenty of small and big sea ships and cruises spread out all across the Halong Bay region.

Day trips to Halong Bay or overnight cruises to Halong Bay are the most popular ways of exploring this scenic region. But some travel enthusiasts go on longer trips i.e take a 3-day Halong Bay cruise or even a 4-day cruise to Halong Bay.

Is Halong Bay Worth Visiting? My Honest Experience

Is Halong Bay worth visiting

When people ask whether Halong Bay is worth it, what they are often wondering is – is Halong Bay Cruise worth it? As that is an expense that carries a lofty price tag and needs careful evaluation. So let me share my experience with you.

We had booked a 2 day 1 night overnight Halong Bay Cruise. We chose Le Theatre Cruises .

I have made a video detailing my full experience onboard the Le Theatre Cruises which you can see here.

But if you prefer to read, let’s continue:

So Le Theatre Cruises runs over Lan Ha Bay – which is Halong Bay’s less commercial neighbor. It is as scenic as Halong Bay but is visited by much fewer tourists.

Scenic beauty and sightseeing During our time on the cruise, we did everything that most Halong Bay itineraries offer, but in a different, less touristy area. Our Lan Ha Bay sightseeing included visiting the Ao Ech area around Lan Ha Bay. We went kayaking here and were also allowed to swim.

Caves at Lan Ha Bay

The next morning we also visited the dark and bright cave . The bamboo boat journey was refreshing, calming, and one-of-a-kind. The color of the water was the perfect emerald and the water was clean almost everywhere.

In addition to this, we were always surrounded by the most breathtaking seascape decorated with so many different and unique limestone pillars.

The scenic beauty was truly enchanting and far superior in person to what it looked like in the many photos and videos of the place that I had seen before going to Vietnam.

Cruise experience – food, room, service, etc.

Deck at Halong Bay cruise

We were visiting Halong Bay with a kid and were not sure how much our kid would like the experience. But the staff took excellent care of her food preferences. They even arranged a three-person kayak to ensure she could enjoy the experience with us.

The food served onboard was top-notch. Our dietary restrictions and allergies were taken care of and we still felt spoilt with choices. The happy hour at the sundeck on our Lan Ha Bay cruise was personally my most favorite time.

We were surrounded by outstanding natural beauty and having drinks against the backdrop of a setting sun, grooving to excellent music, and hanging out with a bunch of jolly co-passengers.

heritage cruise halong bay review

The executive suite in which we stayed further enhanced our Halong Bay experience as it came with a balcony, a fancy bathtub, a plush Japanese toilet, and all the necessary amenities.

Overall, at least for us, Le Theatre Cruise proved to be a wise choice.

How to make sure your Halong Bay Experience feels worth it?

Based on my personal experience, I definitely think that Halong Bay is worth visiting. But there are so many elements that could go wrong and ruin your experience as well as make you question your spending.

So to ensure that your Halong bay trip feels worth it and is memorable, take the following factors into consideration.

Visit Halong Bay When the Weather’s Ideal

heritage cruise halong bay review

The weather has a huge role to play in deciding whether Halong Bay is worth it or not.

If you visit when it’s pouring or terribly cloudy, you wouldn’t end up liking Halong Bay much. You’d barely be able to see the limestone pillars or the many hues of the sky at sunset.

Your outdoor activities like visits to the cave, beach, or kayaking may also be canceled due to poor weather.

The best time to visit Halong Bay is between late November and February when the weather is dry and pleasant.

The months between March to May are dry but unpleasant because of the hot and humid weather.

Even in the winter dry months, unexpected rain could dampen your experience. If you have flexibility in your itinerary, book a Halong Bay tour online just a couple of days in advance based on weather predictions.

I recommend this 2-day 2 night tour for its-cheap price tag and almost 5-star ratings (Perfect for last minute booking)

Ensure that the Halong Bay Itinerary is diverse and engaging

Kayaking at Halong Bay

An ideal Halong Bay itinerary must include a mix of cruise time, Halong Bay sightseeing, and fun activities.

See if your sightseeing in Halong Bay includes at least a few items from the below

  • A visit to one of the many Halong Bay beaches
  • A visit to one of the caves like the Luon Cave, Bright Cave, Dark and Light Cave, Surprise Cave
  • A trip to Cat Ba Island and National Park
  • Island hopping at Titop Island, Cong Do, Tuan Chau, etc.
  • Visit to the fishing village or pearl farming

Also, make sure there is enough interaction with the locals on your Halong Bay outings – this could be in the form of a visit to the fishing village, taking a ride with a local on a Bamboo boat, etc.

In addition to this, there should be ample cruise time. Ensure that your cruise time includes fun activities like a cooking class, squid fishing, tai chi sessions, etc.

Going on a Halong bay cruise that provides a good mix of sightseeing and onboard activities is important to get the best value for your money.

Choose the right Halong Bay cruise

heritage cruise halong bay review

This factor is critical in determining your overall experience.

The more you pay, the more the cruise needs to offer for you to find value in your Halong Bay excursion.

But unfortunately, my research has shown that most cruises deliver a very similar Halong Bay sightseeing plan. So whether you opt for a budget Halong Bay cruise or a luxury Halong Bay cruise – the itinerary would be fairly diverse. It would take you to a beach or a cave, show you a few islands, allow you some free swimming or kayaking time and tie it up with a few onboard activities like cooking and fishing.

The real differentiator in price is based on the quality of the cruise, the rooms, the onboard amenities, and the overall service.

Thus, if you don’t really plan to spend a whole lot of time indoors in your room, it doesn’t make sense to pay a few hundred dollars more just for a fancy suite. It would only result in disappointment.

heritage cruise halong bay review

Some factors that you should consider when choosing your cruise if you want Halong Bay to feel worth it are

– the newness of the cruise – there are many old cruises in bad shape that are doing the rounds of Halong Bay. Passengers feel ripped off as the worn-out condition of the rooms and the cruise ship just do not justify the steep pricing. Some new cruises in the bay are Peone Cruises , Orchid Trendy Cruises , Stellar of the Seas Cruise (9.5+ rating!)

– the in-room amenities – a bathtub and a balcony are a must to soak in the magnificent views. Some cruises which provide these options are Le Theatre Cruises (where I stayed), Stellar of the Seas Cruise .

2 night 3 day cruises that require you to spend more time onboard should have a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, or a spa. Le Theatre didn’t have this and I would probably not choose it for its 2-night 3-day package. But Stellar of the Seas Cruise is equipped with a stunning outdoor pool. Likewise, the luxury Ambassador Cruises offers excellent in-house spa treatments.

– Cruise equipment and staff – the cruise should be well-equipped i.e. they should have proper snorkeling or kayaking gear. Its kitchen should be able to cater to the dietary preferences of all of its passengers. The staff should be able to communicate with and understand the tourists’ language and needs.

– Moderate number of cabins – The number of cabins should be between 15-30. Bigger cruises take large crowds with them wherever they go. This means you hardly get to see the pristine beauty of Halong Bay islands and caves.

– Pick up and drop off in a limousine – To be honest, the price of a Halong Bay cruise is about 2-3 times that of luxury accommodation in Hanoi and so any fancy perks included in the Halong Bay package only enhance the overall experience. A limousine pick-up and drop-off make the 3-hour journey from Hanoi and back remarkably pleasant. You don’t feel fatigued and can easily take an onward flight, train, or trip to other parts of Vietnam or you can start Hanoi sightseeing without needing any extra time to rest from the long cruise. Cruises that offer limousine pick-up and drop-off are Ambassador Cruises , Stellar of the Seas Cruise as well as Le Theatre Cruise . Book directly through them and not an agent for this facility.

Go on a day trip to Halong Bay

Halong Bay cruise experience - how to choose a Halong Bay cruise

If you are on a tight budget and want to make sure that your trip to Halong Bay feels worth it, opt for a day trip. A day trip to Halong Bay can cost as low as USD 50 which is usually less than one-third the cost of an overnight Halong Bay cruise.

A day trip Halong Bay itinerary is packed with tourist delights.

  • fall in love with the limestone pillars seen on your day cruise
  • go kayaking, swimming, or snorkeling
  • explore one of the many beautiful caves
  • check out how pearl farming is carried out
  • have a gala time at an islet or a beach

The Halong Bay day trip package usually includes pick-up and drop from Hanoi allowing a seamless journey. Eat a lavish lunch and pamper yourself with cookies and tea – both of which are complimentary inclusions in your day tour to Halong Bay.

I think it would be hard to not find Halong Bay worth visiting if you explore it on a day trip. The day trip packs most of the inclusions of an overnight trip but at a much cheaper price tag.

I recommend this Halong Bay Day Trip for its affordable price

Halong Bay Alternatives – And when should you consider these?

As I have said earlier, Halong Bay is absolutely worth visiting and it doesn’t make sense to consider skipping it or looking for alternatives. But the options suggested below are places close to or similar to Halong Bay but far less touristy or expensive.

So if budget, overtourism, weather, commute, etc are a concern for you, consider the options below.

Bai Tu Long Bay

Located just to the northeast of Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay is a quieter and less touristy alternative. It offers similar stunning landscapes of limestone cliffs and emerald waters but with a more tranquil atmosphere.

It is an absolute hit amongst tourists for its spectacular, clean, unperturbed beaches.

There are daily boats available to Bai Tu Long Bay from Halong Bay – perfect for a day trip.

Cat Ba Island

This is the largest island in Halong Bay and offers a more laid-back vibe than the bustling Halong Bay area.  There is plenty to do here for tourists including exploring the national park, hiking through its hidden trails, visiting the fishing village inside the National Park.

In fact, many 2 night 3 days Halong bay cruise itineraries include a visit to Cat Ba Island. But you can visit it on a day trip by a direct ferry from Halong Bay.

This region is known as the “Halong Bay on land” due to its towering limestone karsts and winding rivers.

Take a paddle boat tour through Tam Con or Trang An and spend any extra time visiting the local temples, and pagodas or hiking through its scenic routes. Many tourists, in fact, like Ninh Binh more than Halong Bay as they find it more charming and less touristy.

This mountain town is located in the Hoang Lien Son range and is known for its stunning rice terraces and cultural diversity. You can hike through the surrounding hills and valleys, meet local ethnic minorities, and soak in the area’s natural beauty. Visit the Silver Waterfall along with the numerous other waterfalls dotting this area.

Flight Booking: Check the availability of tickets, the best time to fly, and the cheapest fares on Skyscanner . You may also find a cheap flight via CheapOair

Guided Tours: I absolutely love GetYourGuide for local sightseeing tours, walking tours, history tours, and food tours. The booking process is seamless, and the tours are super affordable. But in Asian countries, I prefer Viator or Klook for their affordably priced tours.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to visit.

Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay or Cat Ba Archipelago in the Gulf of Tonkin can be visited all year round. The best time to visit is September to April. Expect hot weather and some tropical rain in the summer from May to August, but the sun and blue skies reappear after the rain before a magical sunset and the moon rising high into the night sky. Be the first to cruise with us on board Heritage Cruises where our team ensures you enjoy every experience whatever the weather conditions.

Is a one-night cruise with Heritage Cruises enough to experience everything?

Some of our clients have told us that one night is too short, so if you want a trip that offers both activities and time to relax, the two-night Heritage Explorer or the three-night Heritage Expeditions options are recommended.

With an extra day, guests can relax in the stunning environment, spend time at a beach, or take a more active approach with swimming, kayaking or cave exploring The boat is a destination in itself with many experiences to offer. Each cabin has a private balcony, and the bathroom has a Jacuzzi allowing guests to enjoy spectacular views while soaking in the tub.

How To Decide Between Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay, Or Bai Tu Long Bay?

No trip to the North of Vietnam can be considered complete without a visit to the absolutely stunning Halong Bay region. But it’s not always that simple to choose your ideal cruising journey: The Tonkin Gulf actually includes 3 bays: Bai Tu Long, Lan Ha and last but not least, Halong Bay.

Halong Bay is by far the most well known by tourists, who come from all over the world to see its stunning beauty. But here’s the catch: Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay have the same scenic beauty as Halong Bay, in fact, some people say more so. Travelers are seeking new and exotic experiences and plus value, whether it is in terms of personal value or value for money. They are looking for new destinations, new hotels, and new cruising experiences. They search for exclusivity and want to be the first to discover a destination. Many have moved towards a quieter understated luxury and plan their trips with a focus on authenticity and experiential travel, searching for particularly enriching once-in-a-lifetime experiences. For us, it is essentially about creating an experiential type of travel that is personal as well as authentic and memorable.

Halong Bay is understandably popular and crowded, but if you want to come experience it alone without other tourists, be sure to book our private charter boat that will sail where you want, cruising on your own itinerary. Go deep into the bay. Explore the caves and grottoes. Head over to Bai Tu Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. Go trekking in the Cat Ba National Park, rock climbing, kayaking, and, watching some of the most amazing sunsets that you’ll ever set eyes on. The choice is yours.

Book online today and look forward to a relaxing stay with us

The Graceful Sister

Ginger , the most elegant of the Halong Bay sisters, inherited her wanderlust from her French father and her love for all things oriental from her Vietnamese mother.
