1971 Fan Lee Liner

Vintage 1971 Fan Lee Liner This beautiful vintage camper has been fully restored and is now ready for more memories to be made. She”ll definitely be turning heads wherever she goes. Her length is 19’ to the tongue, 16’ floor space and weight is 3,000lbs. There’s a wet bath (shower and toilet). 2 tables drop down and convert into beds. The first bed measures 3’6” x 6’4” and the second bed measures 6’2” x 7”3’, which is slightly larger the a king! Asking $9,500 sold as is. Below is a list of more of her details.

Exterior: - All windows have been removed and resealed. - All new window screens. - Roof resealed with Henry Tropi-Cool Roof Coating. - Repainted exterior. - Wheel bearings repacked. - New tires, mounted and balanced (zero miles) - New LED taillights and marker lights front and back. RV #1: 1970 Fan Lee Liner

You know how hindsight is 20/20? We might have seen some issues and blessings on bringing this 38 year old beauty home from Michigan. This was our first travel trailer and we thought we were livin’ the high life. So much so that we didn’t think about the issues of driving it home from Jackson, Michigan, with NO chains, brakes, or breakaway switch and maybe no brake lights.

The blessing was that we no longer had to pack up four kids, dogs, food, gear, and everything but the kitchen sink into our Suburban, drive 2.5 hours to pick up my parents’ 1974 Class C, then drive to the closest campground and unload (all.of.it). Seriously, never underestimate the amount of food and all the gear alone you need for 4 children. There is never enough space unless you pull your whole house behind you.

We found this gem on Craigslist where a retired gentleman had lost his wife the year prior and decided he was done with camping. The Fan had been left at a local camping spot for most of the season. We paid less than $1K and drove it home on a wing and a prayer. If you ever want to know the inner workings of an RV, buy an old one. It’s the best crash course out there. Ha-ha!

The Fan had great bones and most of it was all original! However, original and working don’t always go together like peanut butter and jelly. Yet, the refrigerator worked! Did you know that almost 40 year old plastic linings on cushions and light fixtures can pretty doggone brittle? Or that maybe we should have asked if everything work and tried it out? Nope, neither did we. The kids thought it was awesome though!

Here’s a list of all the things we did to it (you might want to grab a snack now that we’ve mentioned PB & J–this could be a while!):

• Sand/Paint/Seal Exterior–Don’t let that short phrase give false illusions of little time involved. I think I spent 4 hours alone sanding the rock shield on the front and and another 2-3 hours meticulously repainting the Fan graphics on the front using the faint lines left.
• Replace fresh water tank and all the plumbing except for the black tank–Now Jon knows how it all works
• Remove water-damaged ledge in the back and replace with the addition of outlets to charge our phones–plugs were few and far between in 1970
• Fixed the wiring and replaced the lights for the rear cap that were either damaged by water or where critters got in
• Replaced the non-working electric brakes and changed to newer tires
• Removed the propane only light–thought it was a safety issue for our kids
• Removed the propane furnace that no longer worked and replaced with a room air conditioner since we camped in the summer for the most part at this time
• Replaced the door at some point because someone backed into it while in storage (not sure why the subdivision didn’t want to look at this beauty and made us find storage for it elsewhere)
• Fixed several of the handles on the jalousie windows
• Removed dry-rotted cushion covers and curtains and sewed vinyl covers (remember–4 kids) and fresh curtains that could also give some privacy (those covers might have been had a final sew session on the way to our first campsite in the backseat of the Suburban)
• Oh yes–we bought some safety chains

What better way to figure out the inner workings of an RV than to get your hands dirty while making it work? While I had grand plans for a red and white striped awning, the pictures show few decorations because we were just plain tired by the time we were done and came to the realization that it was just too small for us. It had a full-sized bed with a bunk above and a dinette that made into a twin size bed at best. The bathroom had a toilet and mirror but that was about it. While the woodwork was fantastic and original, there was just little storage for 6 of us. This floorplan would be great for a couple or a couple with an occasional child or grandchild!

After all that work and many compliments at campgrounds where we stayed, we decided we needed something bigger. So I took more pics and listed it on Tin Can Classifieds . https://tincantourists.com/classified-ads/browse-ads/ . We ended up with ladies from Texas and Seattle duking it out over who could show us the money first and sold it to Seattle for more than 3 times what we bought it for. Looking back we should have priced it higher, but we aren’t always blessed with that 20/20 vision up front. Are you? We delivered to Illinois where the lady from Seattle had relatives and our little Sasquatch eventually made the trip from Illinois to Washington later that summer.

We had several people say we should redo tin can travel trailers for a living but we just didn’t have the time. Maybe it could be a good retirement gig? This is a 1972 FAN Luxury Liner Camper Travel Trailer. This has a clean Title. All appliances are original and in working condition. This has been sealed with white rubberize RV coating on the top. It has 3 new roof vent covers. It has a owning that is yellow and white stripped. It does not leak. This has a full wet bath from the ceiling to floor. The curtains are new and has new vinyl window blinds. These are the original seat cushions which have the original tags on them that are dated July 1972. They have been dry cleaned. All the wood is original and has a couple coats of polyurethane applied to it. It has new vinyl flooring. This has Bunk beds in the back and the table can be lifted off to make a full bed in the front. The table is a extended table which will extend the full length of the seats. This has a top air condition which works great. I do have a copy of the original owners manual. This is a self contained camper. The rear storage has the old wood removed and replaced with new plywood. It does have a power converter. It has 12 volt 110 outlets with breaker box. I does not come with propane tanks but I have put tanks on it to test the gas on the stove and water heater which work good. The underneath of the camper is all original metal. It comes with a spare tire and all the hoses for the sewer drain. This has the original FAN wheel covers. Any questions please ask, thank you. SIX-PAC SMALL TRUCK CAMPER (SEE TRUCK LIST BELOW)

THE HISTORY OF THIS CAMPER: I am the second owner of this camper. I bought it about 8 years ago when my daughter was 13. The original owner bought it from a dealer who went out of business. I had changed jobs so I would be able to be a full-time Dad and bought the camper so my daughter and I could have a special activity together. We would go "camper-ing" in and around Lake Tahoe maybe 5 times a year, weekend overnight. We also used it when she participated in soccer season. One of the great things about the camper was we didn't have to depend on reserving a campsite in advance and it gave us the freedom to leave late Friday and come back Sunday afternoon. We did quite a few of those short trips. Another really great use was attending my daughters soccer games. Those were strictly day trips and it was like have a little house nearby so you could change clothiers, make lunch, keep things cold, etc. Even though the floor of the camper is the length of the truck bed (6 ft), it is remarkably roomy and we never felt as if we were in a small space. THE SIX PAC STORY: I did a lot of research before I decided to get a SIX-PAC - I'm sure you have also. For those of you new to RVing and campers and you've decided to get one of the best you may be wondering why there are so few SIX PACs available. Around 2007 when the housing crisis hit the sales of RVs fell drastically. It wasn't that people didn't like RVs there was just a lot of uncertainty so they stopped buying them. SIX PAC, made only small truck campers and decided it was best for them to stop making campers until the market turned around. Now it is 2014, the market has recovered and SIX PAC plans to make a comeback in 2015 or 2016. They will offer this very model, the T100, as their base model for a price of $13,000-14,000 US Dollars. Your camper at $5,959 is likely to be worth this same amount 5 years from now, if you take good care of it like I have. It is easy to take good care of your camper, especially if it is a SIX PAC. Think about that as you read the info below. Those Of You Experienced RVer's Who Have Been Looking For A SIX-PAC - you know the value of a super clean one. How long will this one last? I would never consider selling this one if I wasn't moving to Hawaii. But the cost of sending things to Hawaii is so expensive and I'm sending my truck so unfortunately the camper has to go. I've tried to price my SIX-PAC CAMPER fairly. This might be the best SIX-PAC CAMPER available at this price or any price anywhere. CONDITION: I've used eBay's guidelines to describe the condition of the camper. Unlike cars, campers don't wear out in the same way. There is no engine, no tires - you get the idea. If you take good care of your camper there is no telling how long it can last. Look at the pictures and see for yourself the condition of this camper. All the lights work, the refrigerator works, the inverter works, the stove works, the sink pump works and that's about all there is that wears out over time. It does need a new battery. The outside of the camper is metal and is in great condition. No dents, no scratches, just a bit of dirt that blows with the wind. So depending how you feel, you can wash your camper every couple of months or so depending how it is stored. These are the actual dimensions of my camper:LENGTH: 6 ft. The camper should go right to the end of the truck bed. The tailgate needs to be removed. WIDTH: 53.5 inches. The camper fits between the wheels of your truck bed - you probably don't need to remove the bed liner. HEIGHT: 8 ft. 6 inches. This is the height measured from the ground to the top of the camper when it is on MY truck, a Ford Ranger XLT FX4. CAUTION - IMPORTANT: You Must Measure The Height Of The Camper Once It Is Installed On Your Truck. There is no ideal height - the reason you need to measure the height is so you can determine if your truck (with the camper) can go under things. Most railway bridges are 13' 6" so that's no problem. You probably can't park in a garage and I have included a special picture - it is the last one - that shows a structure that had a sign posted indicating it was 8 ft. clearance - low enough for almost every camper on the road. Absolutely no particle or pressboard is used anywhere in a Six-Pac. Construction----------The cabinetry, countertops, and wall paneling are all made from industrial mahogany harvested in the most ecologically sensitive methods possible. Of all the mahogany species available, Six-Pac uses luaun and meranti - they are stronger, lighter, more water resistant and less apt to warp than other more common and inexpensive species. All of the wood surfaces are finished with a vinyl cladding, so cleaning and durability of the finish has been taken into consideration. Fabrics----------Fabrics have been kept simple, too. Durability and easy maintenance are of prime concern, so the in-house sewing shop selected fabrics easily cleaned with water-based solutions rather than harsh solvents. The low-key, pleasing patterns lend themselves to interior spaciousness, relaxation and comfort. The blinds are made of durable synthetic material, and curtains are crafted of Sunbrella fabric - the same as used in outdoor awnings designed to be exposed to the elements for years. Lighting----------And, no matter how you like to relax at the end of the day, your Six-Pac is equipped for comfort and convenience. In addition to general lighting, there are specialized reading lights in both the dinette and sleeping areas along with 12 volt and 110 volt receptacles (needs to be wired to engine or hookup) for your portable appliances. TV and phone jacks are installed right where you need them, and all units are pre-wired for TV antennas and cable hookup and air conditioner. Quality----------These comments are from the website. I can only speak to my own experience. A frequent comment that we hear from customers who've owned their Six-Pacs for decades is, "The appliances are better than ever!" That's because the appliances you'll find in a Six-Pac are of the same quality - and from the same manufacturers - as those used in million-dollar motorhomes, meeting all the same safety and performance specifications. And, instead of trendy plastic sinks, we prefer to provide the durability of stainless steel. We use Pex tubing for our fresh water plumbing - the system used for years in the most expensive European homes and becoming more common in luxury American homes. Pex is not only very strong and resistant to freeze bursting, but also highly resistant to vibration weakening. My comment about quality--------You will see for yourself. I don't have any peeling paneling, or bubbles I have seen when water gets inside a wall. It is simple good quality workmanship. Of course nothing is guaranteed - but with reasonable care it seems like the camper will last a long time. Safety----------The oversized escape hatch over the bed functions both as an emergency exit and as another source of ventilation with its bug screen and crank up lid, so you can enjoy even more fresh air in addition to the numerous sliding windows located in the kitchen, dinette, and cabover bed areas. My full-color decals are printed with the new 10 color Epson Archival Ink-Set over twice the available colors in the normal 4 color process printing on normal decals. They can produce the most vibrant and archival rated printed decals available anywhere. One color decals are die-cut from solid industrial exterior vinyl, not printed, there is no clear vinyl background. The decal peals off of a backing sheet and is applied directly to the camper.

HOW TO ORDER

My decals are printed on the new Epson SureColor P700 released in June 2020, a professional level photo and fine art inkjet printer featuring ten individual ink cartridges now called the "UltraChrome PRO10" system.

The new Epson UltraChrome HD PRO10 ink palette, consists of the following colors: cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, gray, light gray, violet, photo black, and matte black.  

Traditional decals are printed using the four color process, Magenta, yellow, cyan, and black. The traditional CMYK ink-set is limited in what colors it can generate compared to the number of colors that the human eye can see and that today's computer monitors can display. Each additional ink color Epson added to the original four color process increases the printer’s range of possible colors. The addition of violet alone, for example, increased the color range by 6 percent. That may not sound like much, but remember, we’re talking 10 colors.

Pigment inks are designed to be stable over long periods of time. There are no inks available anywhere that can withstand direct sunlight indefinitely but the Epson Sure Color inks far surpass the traditional CMYK processionals normally used and have excellent durability because the pigments are coated with resin and are fixed on specialty media.

As the actor is now basking in the glory of the success of his recently ended drama, he is all set to meet his fans. 10 years back, when Soo-Hyun held his fan meet, he traveled to nine Asian cities.
