Best month.. 10 years ago. May is the end of autumn (fall). Winter begins on 1 June in Australia. However Sydney has a mild climate so I wouldn't let the word 'winter' put you off. On the other hand contrary to the advice you mention, I WOULD bring a jacket. Unless maybe you are like my husband.
