Our Locations

Bus tours across north america.

Touring across America has never been easier or more comfortable than with Heartland Tours and Travel. We offer a variety of exciting bus tours to sites and events all across the United States in our luxury coach buses.

We carefully curate our destinations and excursions along the way to provide a fun, active, and entertaining experience for our passengers.

With convenient departure locations in Bloomington and Rochester, MN, choose from a variety of motorcoach tours and see the country like never before.

Tour America with Comfort and Convenience

Planning a trip is time consuming, expensive, and stressful, so let us handle the myriad of details so you can enjoy your travels! We handle everything including excursions, events, accommodations, transportation, and more. All you have to do is board our luxury motorcoach, sit back in relaxed comfort, and enjoy.

All of our motorcoaches include an onboard restroom, video systems, reclining seats, footrests, overhead storage, window shades, climate control, individual reading lamps, device charging outlets, and more! And, with advance notice, we can provide wheelchair lifts.

Our tours include accommodations at three and four-star hotels, and you will have a professional escort for the entire tour.

What to Expect on Your Bus Tour

Our coach tours are comfortable, affordable, and offer enriching experiences as we escort you on your travel dreams. For customers of all ages, we work to provide memorable and enjoyable experiences without the stress of planning the details of vacations and family trips. Our fleet of motorcoaches is ready to take you on exciting excursions, relaxing vacations, or delightful tour traditions.

Our tours offer a luxurious and comfortable travel experience. Coaches stop every 2 to 2½ hours for rest breaks, and exciting roadside and town attractions are planned along the tour route.

When you travel with Heartland Tours, your trip experience will be much more than a simple bus ride. Not only are our motorcoaches clean, comfortable, accommodating for all ages, and wheelchair friendly, they are luxury vehicles with onboard bathrooms, video systems with multiple monitors, reclining seats, headrests, fold-down foot rests, climate control, tinted windows, window shades, individual reading lamps, ventilation, and more.

Each seat includes Wi-Fi, extra leg room, 110v electrical outlets, and more. We’ve outfitted our motorcoaches specifically for a comfortable touring experience.

Environmentally Conscious Bus Tours

In addition to comfort for passengers when on the road, you can also take comfort in our environmentally-friendly coaches. Our buses are fueled with a biodegradable, nontoxic, sulfur- and aromatic-free B20 biodiesel fuel. Motorcoaches are also an average of six times more fuel and energy efficient than single occupancy vehicles like cars. When measuring passenger miles per gallon, motorcoaches with over 50 passengers will still have an efficiency of 350 passenger miles per gallon, compared to the 28 passenger miles per gallon of an average car.

Carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by about 85% per passenger mile per person when driving a motorcoach. That’s about three times more efficient reduction of CO2 output compared to commuter trains and cars.

Plan your next vacation on a luxury tour coach

Family owned and operated, Glenn’s Motorcoach Tours of Southeastern Minnesota has been the premier choice for the highest quality vacation tours, competitive pricing, and professionalism since 1991.

Tour planning is led by Renae, Fred, and the Glenn’s Motorcoach Tours staff. We charter all kinds of groups and sporting events. We have 52-passenger high-end coaches with extra leg room. We accept all major credit cards! Contact us to schedule your next tour!

Glenns Motorcoach Tours is putting every effort into keeping our customers and employees safe by actively ensuring our motor coaches are cleaned and disinfected the best of our ability.

We have started additional cleaning and disinfecting methods. Most important is that if you don’t feel good STAY home!

Our bus cleaners, as well as our Tour Directors and Drivers have been trained on what/how to clean and disinfect the coach. Drivers and Tour Directors will wipe down listed surfaces below at times during the day and at the end of each day as well as mop floor with a disinfectant. Drivers and Tour Directors will make sure hand sanitizer and wipes are available on every trip.

We will also be fogging each coach before it leaves our shop to insure a thorough cleaning and disinfecting on the interior of all coaches. If a driver, tour director or passenger become ill on coach we will decontaminate the coach. Driver/ Tour Director will then contact office and we will determine what needs to be done at that time.

Listed below are what we will give special attention to while cleaning/ disinfecting the Coach:

  • Steering wheel
  • Window sills
  • Restroom handrails and door handles
  • Coach will also be sprayed with Lysol quite often each day

Remember to do the easy things like:

  • Stay away from people who are sick
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use wipes if water not available
  • Make sure to cover your cough or sneeze and throw all tissues away not leaving them on seat
  • Again, most important that if you have any symptoms or don’t feel good stay home

We will get our buses moving as soon as we are able. We are monitoring the situation daily. Also we will be listening to the CDC, United Motorcoach Ass’n and Minnesota Charter Bus Operators Ass’n and make any changes necessary.

If you want a great alternative to ride sharing, driving, or walking, this is it! What a fun way to get to your destination while getting a lesson on Minneapolis history. We stopped at Chloe for dinner (Canopy stop) then hopped on to the stop at Maison Margaux/ Hewitt Hotel then to the theater district and then Mackenzie Pub by the theater district before heading home in Loring park. A great experience all around.

Doors open minneapolis offers rare peek inside more than 100 buildings.

Doors Open Minneapolis offers the keys to buildings — or spaces within buildings — that are often closed to the public. Think behind the scenes, backstage, below ground.

Sure, you can buy a ticket to a concert at the Cedar Cultural Center. But during Doors Open , you can also check out the venue's green room, where the artists hang.

Last year's free event, the first since 2019, brought 14,000 people to 87 locations across the city. This year's event is even bigger, with 105 venues.

It's run by Rethos, formerly the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota. That organization "used to focus a lot on buildings," said Kelly Fischer, heritage tourism manager. "And of course, it still does. But ultimately, the field of historic preservation has started to gear more towards the stories of people that inhabit those buildings.

"Because the buildings have a lot less meaning when they're not attached to story and culture and history."

Half of the event's venues are historic. There are plenty of old churches, theaters and homes. But many of those historic spaces are hubs of activity. The Star Tribune's printing press was "a huge hit last year," Fischer said. Last year, it was open only on Saturday and "got absolutely slammed." So this year, it will be open both days.

Some tours require tickets, but all venues are free. Buses and light-rail are free, too, and there are 10 free parking ramps and lots, mostly downtown. The event runs Saturday and Sunday, but not all venues are open both days. More information can be found at www.doorsopenminneapolis.org .

Here are three ways to explore:

If you love planes, trains and automobiles:

Check out the Minneapolis Traffic Management Center , where experts use up-to-the-minute traffic surveillance and other tools to manage how cars move throughout the city. Stop by the Metro Transit Blue Line Operations and Maintenance Facility on Franklin Avenue, where tour guides will "teach you how the system runs and how we keep it in tip-top shape." Then go to the Lift Garage on E. Lake Street, an auto repair shop that offers low-income people low-cost car repair. There, technicians will explain tools and parts, putting cars on lifts to show kids and adults alike what they look like underneath.

If you want to explore Black history:

Start in North Minneapolis at the Capri Theater, one of this year's new venues, to see the stage where Prince performed his first solo show. Stop by the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder to "experience the rich history of this black press," via tours, photos and old papers. Then make your way to south Minneapolis to the historic Coliseum Building on E. Lake Street, another new venue. The 1917 building has long been a hub for Black businesses . Burned during the riots after the police murder of George Floyd, it just got a $28 million reconstruction. This tour offers a first look.

If you want to peek underground:

Sure, this event gives several chances to see the city from a tall perch. (The Foshay Tower's 30th-floor observation deck is a favorite.) But the event also offers a look below. The city of Minneapolis will be sending a camera down a sewer manhole on Nicollet Mall and setting up a closed-circuit television truck so that passersby can see the inside of the sewer system. Then, travel 82 feet beneath the Elmer L. Andersen Library to explore the Minnesota Library Access Center , a subterranean library of 1.5 million volumes. It's one cool cave.
