What are Poland dentist prices?

If you’re looking to save money on treatments such as crowns, veneers, and dental implants, then looking at Poland as a possible location for your next dental visit is a great idea.

Poland dentist prices can be cheaper than in the UK. While prices will vary depending on where you live, the national average costs are around 50-75% less than what you would pay in the UK. For example, a porcelain crown would typically cost around £250-300 in the UK but only £125-150 in Poland.

Warsaw and Krakow are both easily accessible by plane from most major European cities and with travel time being around 4 hours each way, it’s very manageable to fly over for an appointment.

Why is dental care cheaper in Poland?

With the cost of living continuing to rise, many Brits are finding that dental care in Poland is much cheaper than at home.

Polish dentists are known for being affordable, and there are several reasons why that’s true.

First, the cost of living in Poland is significantly lower than in other European countries. This means that the fees charged by Polish dentists are lower as well.

Second, because of fewer overheads, dentists can afford to charge less for their services. They don’t have to pay as much for equipment or rent, which means that they’re able to pass those savings on to their patients.

Dental education and regulation in Poland

Poland has a long history of dental care, with evidence of dentistry dating back to Roman times. While the country has undergone many changes over the years Poland’s dental education system remains one of the most robust in Europe.

The Polish Dental Council (Polish: Polskie Towarzystwo Stomatologiczne), which was established in 1910, sets out high standards for dental care quality nationwide.

dental treatment poland prices

It regulates how dentists can practice their profession; monitors their performance, and helps ensure that they’re up-to-date with new developments in their field through continuing education programs.

Dentists in Poland must be registered with the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists. Every five years dentists must demonstrate to the Chamber that they have maintained the latest knowledge and skills. This is compulsory for their license to be renewed.

In addition, many dentists choose to become ISO9001 and TEMOS certified in order to provide their patients with the highest quality care possible.

Dental care quality in Poland

The country’s dentists are highly trained and well-qualified, and they take pride in their work. They are also very friendly, so if you’re nervous about going to the dentist, don’t worry!

Polish dentists are highly respected within their communities as well as nationally – this makes them very motivated to provide you with excellent care every time you visit!

Finding a reputable dentist abroad is not easy. There are many factors to consider, including costs and treatment options.

First, you’ll need to find a good dentist. You can start by asking friends, family, or co-workers who have visited Poland before and had dental work done there. Chances are they will be able to recommend someone who did an excellent job and offered great service at a reasonable price.

If you don’t know anyone who has visited Poland before, then you can check online for unbiased opinions about dentists in different cities around the world.

There are many websites with reviews for different dental practices all over the world, including in Poland. But be careful! Not all of these sites show unbiased reviews—some might be paid advertisements from dentists themselves!

If you want to see examples of previous work, ask the dentist if they have before-and-after pictures of their patients’ procedures or even videos if possible!

The easiest way to find a reputable dentist in Poland is to let us help! Just fill out the form and we’ll get you 3 free quotes from the dentists in Poland that best suit your needs.

We’ve thoroughly vetted all the dental clinics in Poland that we recommend to ensure they meet our high standards. Each clinic has ISO9001 certification and is TEMOS certified , meaning you can be confident that you’ll receive excellent care!

cosmetic dentistry prices in poland

  • Teeth whitening : Polish dentists can offer a range of teeth-whitening methods that range from in-office procedures to custom trays and home kits.
  • Dental implants : Implants are small titanium screws placed into your jawbone where missing teeth used to be; they attach artificial teeth (dentures) directly onto them. Since they’re implanted into your skull and not secured by gum tissue, they can provide a more stable fit than removable dentures while also making eating easier due to their immutability.
  • Porcelain veneers : This common cosmetic procedure involves thin layers of porcelain being applied over your natural tooth enamel for an instantly whiter smile (but does involve some drilling).
  • Dental crowns: Crowns are caps made from a composite resin material that covers damaged areas on your teeth so that they look whole again after having been broken or chipped during accidents or everyday wear-and-tear over time—they’re also very useful in preventing future damage if done correctly!

What else can you do in Poland?

If you want a dental holiday in Poland , the country has a lot to offer, including beautiful scenery, charming cities and towns, and rich history. Poland Dental Travel One of Europe’s Best-Kept Secrets

Dental travel to Poland may not be the first thing that comes to mind when looking for treatment abroad – but many experts think it should be. Low cost, ease of access, top-notch training and plenty of holiday opportunities make Poland a major attraction for patients seeking affordable dental treatment.

As in many countries  dentists in Poland  study five years at university, including an hands-on internship. Board examination and certification follows.

Dental education in Poland is quite widespread, with a dozen or so universities and institutes offering courses and programs.

However good education and training, the main attraction of dental travel to Poland is low cost.  Unlike its Western neighbors, Poland’s labor costs are low, and this is reflected in its dental prices.

NOTE: prices are indicative of those posted online by dentists in Poland – some may charge more.

As in all countries, Poland has good and bad dentists , and finding a good one at Polish prices is an outstanding bargain. Just make sure your dentist speaks English to minimize any misunderstandings. You could phone to check, of course, but email is cheaper and will reveal adequate English just as well.

Interestingly,  dental travel in Poland isn’t limited to the capital city  (Warsaw) or one or two cities – Polish dental tourism is spread throughout the country. You can easily find dentists who cater to foreigners in most major cities, especially those closer to the country’s borders.

Poland has a chequered but rich history, which includes invasions by the Ottomans, Tatars, Cossacks, Swedes, Germans and finally the Soviets;

Breathtaking Tatras Mountains of Poland

It’s a fascinating country – deeply Catholic (the last Pope was Polish if you recall) despite decades of Soviet rule, where the cliche of East Meets West comes true. Here’s a sample of what you could do as a dental tourist in Poland:

  • Plunge into Medieval Europe in Krakow’s winding streets, historic buildings and Krakow Market Square, Europe’s largest.
  • Revisit Jewish history and pay your respects by tracing across the country – from Warsaw’s former Jewish ghetto to the country’s renowned Jewish monuments to concentration camps such as Dachau or Treblinka.
  • In summer, kayak the clear waters of the Great Masurian Lakes and in winter, ski and spa in some of the outstanding resorts of the Tatras Mountains.
  • Sample a traditional Polish dinner (beet soup, stuffed pierogi, sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage rolls, breaded veal cutlets…), which hasn’t changed much over the centuries.

In addition to dental travel in Poland, you could try some of the other Eastern European practices: your choices include a visit to a  Serbia dentist ,  Prague dentists ,  dental tourism in Croatia , or  cosmetic dentistry in Hungary , to name just a few of the many countries offering cheap yet excellent dental work.

Dental Tourism in Poland

Dental tourism has been rising dramatically in Poland over the last few years. Poland offers high-quality dental treatment and surgery services using the latest techniques within a well-regulated health system.

You come to Poland, have a rest, and at the same time, you utilize excellent services of polish dentists, which are much cheaper. Figures show that foreign patients spent about $US65 million on health treatment in Poland for 2005, indicating that the country’s medical tourism market is booming.

Dentists in Poland

Why are Polish dentists among well acknowledged dental practitioners? This article gives a brief preview of one of the top dental tourism destinations in Central Europe.

Difference In Prices — West vs. Central Europe

Dental tourism has helped many people from the United Kingdom. Affordable cost of dental treatment abroad has provided an effective and inexpensive solution to dental problems that are costly to treat in the UK. It is a simple process to go overseas for cheap dental treatment. It only requires the right information.

Dental procedures such as dental crowns, dental implants, and cosmetic services are very costly but in Poland (as well as in Croatia and Hungary) you can save as much as 70% of the total cost that one can incur in the UK. Krakow, the capitol of Poland, has dental clinics that treat many patients from various European countries. The main reason being Poland is highly reputed for its quality dental work. Dentists are also known for being friendly, welcoming and consistent in the provision of high-quality dental treatment that is attributed to its reputed healthcare facilities.

Not Every Procedure Can Be Beneficial – Specific Needs For Custom Tailored Cost

Having dental procedures abroad are very essential for special dental needs. Some of these procedures include veneers, dental crowns, dental implants, bridges, and other oral surgery items. However, orthodontics is not commonly offered because it involves several visits. 99% of the sinus patients have been successfully treated through routine procedures. Poland has highly qualified, experienced and well reputed dental practitioners.

In Poland and other EU countries such as Croatia and Hungary, the cost of dental crowns starts from $200 and dental implants from $495. Cost of dental treatment has gone up; however, one can still save up to 50% to 70% of the costs in the US. There are also discounts on dental costs for the procedures that cost more than £6000. With dental clinics you do not have to make a prepayment for the treatment – more likely is made after every stage of the treatment.

It is important to point out that the cost of dentistry in Poland varies depending on the location of a dental clinic. Dental treatment is expensive in bigger cities while cheaper in smaller cities and rural areas. However, very well learned and experienced dentists are located in the more populated cities of Poland. Their clinics provide a wide range of dental treatments. The most expensive dental procedure in Poland is bracing and the cheapest is tooth extraction. Averagely the cost is &ponud;490 and £40 respectively.

Identifying a well reputed dental clinic and prices dentist is easy with using the Dental Comparison Tool. One can easily find one by simply submitting their treatment plans. Try a dental tour to Poland and see the difference. You will get the best deal for your money.

Dental treatment

White, beautiful smile is the best signature. However, it is also worth taking care of your teeth to keep them healthy, as their condition affects the condition of your whole body. In search of high-quality services and a competitive price/quality ratio, patients also seek dental care outside their home countries. As few other countries, Poland offers innovative dental treatment. You can also benefit from it.

In Poland, dentistry is a dynamically developing field. It is estimated that in 2019 its market value will amount to PLN 9.6 billion, and in 2020 – to over PLN 12 billion. Among the patients of modern Polish dental clinics, there are also foreigners from the neighboring EU countries, Norway, Russia, Ukraine, the USA, and the UAE. This is what best illustrates the condition of Polish dentistry and proves that it is worth treating your teeth in Poland.

Why opt for dental treatment in Poland?

How to plan dental treatment in Poland?

You can arrange dental treatment in Poland:

  • With the assistance of a specialist medical tourism agency; the experts will plan your visit comprehensively: they will help you choose the right healthcare facility, they will contact it on your behalf, they will plan your arrival in Poland, they will select proper accommodation suitable to requested standard and offer you additional attractions.
  • On your own; you can easily comply with all the formalities prior to your arrival, for example, online.

If you want to plan your dental treatment on your own:

  • Consult Polish dental clinic offers. You can do it online. On most websites, you will also find a price list for dental services.
  • Contact the selected healthcare facility and ask about the terms and conditions of a dental treatment. You may be asked, for example, to carry out an initial consultation in your home country and to send the results in order to develop a more precise treatment plan. If you are in possession of any medical records, e.g. tooth X-rays, send them to the clinic.
  • Together with the medical staff, you will pre-plan the course of treatment. You can plan a comprehensive one-stay dental treatment in order to regain a beautiful, healthy smile. Ask for available dental service packages.
  • Set a date for your first appointment and an approximate period of treatment (it may take a few weeks, for example).
  • Plan your arrival in Poland for a few days before entering treatment and choose a convenient mean of transport (e.g. a plane or a car).
  • Book your stay via Booking.com; in Poland you will find a wide range of accommodation facilities of various standard.
  • In-between procedures and during convalescence period, relax and add to your stay with sightseeing. For example, if you undergo dental treatment in:
  • Suwałki, plan a vacation in Masuria and relax in one of the local SPA & Wellness centers.
  • Gdańsk, visit the Gdańsk Shipyard, the cradle of “Solidarność” (Solidarity) movement, discover the charm of the Old Town and plan your stay in Kashubia.
  • Rzeszów, visit the city’s underground and the nearby castle in Łańcut. You can also plan a trip to Zakopane, the Polish winter capital.

A sample dental package – single implant

How can you benefit from dental services in Poland? Look at the sample implant treatment in the case of a single implant.

The cost of an implantology treatment includes:

  • the price of an implant (implanted in the periodontium) – approx. PLN 1,800 – 4,000 per titanium screw,
  • the price of an implant crown (approx. PLN 1,000 – 2,000),
  • the price of a dental implant consultation (approx. PLN 150 – 350),
  • the price of placing a crown on the implant (from PLN 1,500).

Overall, the minimum total cost of a single implant is about PLN 4,000. The price depends on the materials used and the condition of the patient’s periodontium.

The procedure may be performed in Gdynia or Krakow.

  • Consult the offers of Polish dental clinics and contact the selected one; the offer and contact details should be available on its website.
  • The medical staff will go through the treatment options with you. You may be asked to send your medical records, e.g. X-rays and pantomographic images of your teeth, so that the team of implantologists can pre-plan your treatment.
  • The procedure will be scheduled. In many cases, the dental implantation may be completed in just one appointment.
  • Come to Poland preferably a few days prior to the procedure in order to relax after the long journey. Plan how you will get to the dental clinic; choose the most convenient mean of transport, e.g. car or plane.
  • Book your stay via Booking.com. In Gdynia / Krakow accommodation prices depend on the facility standard and location. For example, the accommodation prices at mid-range guesthouses start at PLN 100, and at four/five-star hotels – at PLN 250-300 / a day.
  • Combine your medical stay with a visit to Poland. You can:
  • Benefit from an extensive SPA & Wellness offer and add to your stay, e.g. with strolls around graduation towers, peat baths, balneological treatments, or visits to thermal pools;

Should i travel abroad for dental work.

The primary reasons to travel abroad for dental work are high treatment costs and lack of insurance coverage in the US,UK, or Australia.

You can save up to 70 – 80% at a dentist overseas.

But keep in mind, that higher amounts of savings are only possible on extensive restorative and cosmetic dental work.

Along with savings, it is crucial to consider two other factors: additional costs and safety .

Therefore, while planning a dental tourism trip, thorough research is essential.

As a dental tourist, your additional costs may include air travel cost, travel & stay in the city, and cost of time away from work & home.

As a dental patient, things to consider are the experience of the dentists, the reputation of the clinic, safety protocols followed, and the quality of materials used.

When planning a dental trip abroad, keep the following factors in mind:

✓ Applicable ✗ Not Applicable 🤔 Depends

Mexico, India, Costa Rica, Thailand, the Philippines, Hungary, Colombia, Turkey, and Poland are the most popular destinations for dental tourists.

Why Is Dental Work Cheap Abroad?

However, it is important to realize that cheap does not mean low quality.

On the contrary, reputable dental clinics in these countries use globally renowned brands and maintain the highest safety standards.

They meet and often exceed international standards .

Below are a few detailed reasons for low-cost dental work abroad:

Dentists in the US spend more than 5,000 – 20,000 USD annually on malpractice insurance.

Medical Tourism

'Malpractice litigation costs are also lower in other countries than in the United States…'

What Is the Quality of Dental Care Overseas?

Dental tourism is an excellent prospect for those who lack insurance or whose insurance does not cover a certain procedure.

With that said, not all dental clinics deliver quality care. Therefore, you must exercise caution when selecting a clinic.

Many dental clinics overseas are recognized by national associations . This indicates high standards of dental care and patient safety .

Additionally, it is vital to choose a dentist who has received formal education to obtain a dental degree.

Look for one with international training and a good amount of experience for added safety.

Framing Medical Tourism

'When choosing a medical provider, the accreditation or certified skill level of the provider or facility should be a major concern for foreign patients.'

  • Pay attention to the qualifications of the dentist.
  • Verify the dentists and dental clinic registration
  • Look for the experience and specialization of the dentist.
  • Check if dental clinics are certified by national and international bodies.
  • Look for patients’ testimonials on the clinics’ websites to understand levels of satisfaction and quality of care.
  • Take feedback from patients who underwent similar treatment at the clinic.

Obtain Virtual Consultation

Once you decide on a dental tourism company, let them know your needs. Obtain a virtual consultation with the in-house dentist in the country of choice.

Discuss your needs and share the relevant X-rays and reports of the previous check-ups.

During the consultation, you can discuss the following details:

  • Preferred language of communication
  • Experience of the dentist
  • Sterilization & Safety protocols followed
  • Quality of materials to be used
  • Number of days required for the procedure
  • Success and failure rate
  • Risks of developing post-treatment complications
  • Retreatment options (only if needed)
  • Treatment guarantees
  • Methods of payment
  • Sharing of treatment records before and after the procedure

Make a Final Decision

After gathering all the relevant information, analyze the details. Assess what works best for you, make an informed decision, and choose a dentist abroad.

Stay Near the Clinic

It is recommended patients book a hotel near the clinic.

This is one of the reasons working with an agency is essential: they can recommend nearby hotels for the convenience of visiting the dental clinic, especially when undergoing complex dental treatments such as full mouth reconstruction or an All On 4.

Often, when patients book a hotel on their own, they do not consider the travel time and traffic required to travel to each clinic.

This is another great reason to work with a knowledgeable and experienced dental agency that is familiar with different hotels near the clinic.

Don't have dental insurance? We got your back!

Red flags when choosing a foreign dental clinic.

Choosing the right dental clinic abroad requires in-depth research. During which you may come across red flags.

Here is what you should watch out for:

While searching online, verify the authenticity of dental tourism agencies.

Check for the credentials of your shortlisted dental clinics and dentists.

Many buy fake reviews to look real. Carefully assess patients’ reviews to determine if they are real or fake.

Try to contact these patients personally and ask about their experiences.

Dental tourism companies may try to entice you with heavy discounts to get you in the door.

For example, they might assure you of cheap flights, cheap dental procedures, and attractive exchange rates.

If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

A reputable clinic will provide you with a tentative treatment plan with precise pricing.

If a dentist or clinic seems reluctant to do so, they may not be trustworthy.

Clinics following sterilization protocols of international standards give assurance of quality care.

Enquire about them over a virtual consultation. Proceed further only if you are satisfied with what you’re told.

Advanced dental technology provides a faster , less painful , and more comfortable experience.

The use of old technology indicates a lack of funding, resources, and ultimately a lower standard of care.

It’s better to know about the state-of-the-art technology in dental clinics before deciding further.

Look for dentists who are willing to provide treatment plans as per your requirements .

Sometimes, dentists may add additional procedures for extra bucks.

Your dental records contain information about past diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures.

If the dentist abroad doesn’t ask for these records they are missing out on important information relevant to previous treatments.

Follow-up visits are an essential component of successful treatment.

Check with your dentist if they have provisions for follow-ups for overseas patients.

What Are the Effective Measures To Take After Treatment?

Mouth Healthy

'Continuity of care is important and should be a consideration when making treatment decisions.'

Post Treatment Complications

After care & follow-up.

Before initiating any treatment abroad, ask if you can get follow-up care in your home country.

Some treatments, especially dental implants, require regular maintenance with your local dentist.

There are over 200 different implant systems.

To avoid any confusion, ask your dentist abroad to provide you with a record of the dental implant used.

The record contains information such as the name of the implant, the serial number as well as the specific size and dimension .

You can also request that your overseas dentist use dental implant brands that are available in your home country.

What To do if You Face Problems with Your Treatment?

Even though most patients have successful treatments when visiting a dentist abroad, a few can face problems as well.

Dentistry is not an exact science, and no matter in which country the treatment is performed, a certain number of dental procedures can fail.

If you are still within the country

  • Contact your dental tourism agent and inform them of the problem
  • Visit the dentist and tell them of the problem you are facing

If you have already returned to the US, UK, or Australia

  • Contact the clinic, explain the situation and see if they have a local dentist, they can refer you to for an evaluation.
  • Consider returning to the clinic.

How To Pay for Your Dental Vacation?

You can pay for your dental vacation abroad through cash, credit/debit card, cheque, PayPal, or bank transfer .

You can also finance your dental trip through various dental loan options.

However, note that payment policies vary with each clinic. Remember to check with your dentist regarding your chosen payment option.

Read more about the payment options below with which you can save plenty on out-of-pocket expenses.

Dental Insurance

Traditional travel insurance policies do not cover the expenses incurred for a dental vacation.

Medical Tourism: A Scoping Review

'Insurance products have also emerged that go beyond ensuring travel and loss, and which seek to cover the costs of further treatments.'

  • Cost of additional treatment in case of complications.
  • Cost of treatment if you are dissatisfied with post-treatment abroad.
  • Follow-up fees of local dentists for continuity of care.

Personal Loan

Money Rates

Medical Tourism – Compare and Choose

'It’s almost certainly cheaper than credit cards, and most personal loan interest rates are fixed.'

They are easy to apply for, and repayment depends on your interest rate and loan terms.

The benefits of dental holidays

Dental treatments abroad is becoming hot news; more people are realising the beneficial impacts of combining dental treatment with a holiday and whilst some people lament the invention of dental holidays, for some it is essential in caring for their teeth.

What is dental tourism?

This is where people opt to have dental treatment abroad. Some people choose to stay in Europe – whilst other opt for further, far flung places. The choice is really yours. The advent on the Internet, along with a renewed sense of consumer power, now means it is easy for people to research and find dental practices abroad. For many dentists, having a website here in the UK is essential as most NIHS dentists rely heavily on private patients. This dentists practicing abroad also realise there is a market in inviting British patients to their clinics for treatments that are cheaper, but of the same high quality.

Heard the horror stories?! Let get some myths de-bunked

Denise from East Midlands, one of our cosmetic dentistry patients is talking about her dental holiday experience in Krakow.

Certain stories in the media recently have highlighted that some aspects of medical treatments and equipment may not be up to same standard that we are accustomed to here in the UK. The breast implant scandal is one such story. However, it is fair to say that the majority of dentists offer treatments, using dental materials and other pieces of equipment that are of high quality. Detractors of the dental holiday also point out that the English of the dentist and assisting team may not be too good, meaning the opportunity for miscommunication is ripe. Making sure that the dental team understand your concerns and fears, as well as your dental wants is essential. Some treatments, just as you would in the UK, require several visits and for some people, the thought of flying back and forth between the UK and Poland, for example, is too much. As a result they opt to stay in the UK to either seek treatment or do nothing. And finally, some people will tell you that opting for small treatments abroad is not ‘worth it’ but, they then go on to say that complex treatments can be painful – and you will be miles away from home and comfort.

Another our dental patient, Graham from Bournemouth is interviewed after finishing his smile makeover in our clinic in Krakow.

Dental clinics in Poland, as well as in other countries, have realised that they are offering an invaluable and  competitively priced service to British patients  and the equipment and treatments they offer are of the highest standards. It is not in their interest to let people down with shoddy work etc. Booking through a reputable company like us can also give you a greater peace of mind.

The majority of dentists, and their staff, speak very good English; so much so, that people are often surprised as to how little a language barrier there was. On our dental packages, you will also be escorted by an English speaking representatives so all your worries and concerns can melt away…

The cost of flights to Poland, for example, are competitively priced; some budget airlines can be as low as £41, although prices and taxes can vary.

We do understand, however, that a dental holiday to Poland to fix a wobbly filling is not an economically viable option BUT, for those people looking to have more extensive dental work, it is worth looking at the option of a trip to a Krakow dentist with us.

The statistics

There are no ‘official’ statistics or data for the number of people travelling abroad but according to Moneywise.co.uk there are some figures available:

4 years ago, as many at 70,000 British people travelled abroad for treatments, including dental treatment and the reasons why were listed as concerns over UK hospital cleanliness, waiting lists as well as what some people see as the extortionate cost of dental treatment here in the UK.

Some people are quoted astronomical prices for having cosmetic dental work completed although it now seems the  dental treatment abroad, such as in Poland,  can be half the price – but with the same high quality of treatment, care and customers service.

Flights to Krakow in Poland

Why opt for poland when it comes to dental treatment, why poland.

As a country, it offers a high level of quality in both dental treatment and cosmetic dentistry too. Within its well regulated health system, Polish dentists use the latest and most up-to-date dental treatment techniques and equipment; the customer service is also second to none (why not read what some of our previous customers have said at  http://www.polishmysmile.co.uk/dentists-abroad-reviews ). But there is an added attraction – compared to the fees and costs charged in the UK, you can receive the exact same treatment for far less.

In fact, according to the International Medical Journal, an estimate 70,000 people will travel to Poland for treatment, making it the top dental holiday destination (these figures are estimates only Poland became a member state of the European Union in 2004, with the delightful city of Krakow recognised as a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site. It is thought that customers can save around 50 – 70% on private dentistry fees in Krakow than if they paid for the same treatment in the UK.

Dental implants, for example, are becoming a popular form of permanent treatment, with titanium implants  in the UK costing around £2,000  each; in Poland the cost can be as low as £500 – £600 each.

City break and dental work

What is becoming popular is the option of having dental work completed, followed by a day or two looking around a city or area – and Krakow has a lot to offer. The second largest city in Poland, Krakow sits of the banks of the Vistula River, and is steeped in history being the second oldest city in the country, dating back to the 7th Century. Once the capital city too back in the 11th century, it has a tradition of being the leading centre for academic, cultural and artistic life. It started as a small hamlet, soon thriving and developing into a busy trading centre and this importance has never left its streets. Throughout the 20th century, it academic base began to grown and was soon hailed as the Polish centre of culturalism, where both Polish residents and academics flocked, as well as European artisans. The city boundaries itself are home to 760,000 people, but around its outskirts live a population of some 8 million people – estimated to live within 62 miles of the main square. Poland, as we know, has a turbulent interjection in its past; invaded by Nazi German forces at the start of the Second World War, it witnessed unimaginable horrors. But it was not a city that rested on its laurels; fighting back after the war, Krakow, as the rest of Poland, is once again carving itself out as being a magnificent place to live, work and visit. Its dental treatment options and great dental clinics are no exception – and it is no wonder that British patients are flocking here.

Why opt for treatment abroad – and in Poland?

Polish dentists , along with their dental teams are highly skilled, trained, qualified and experienced practitioners; they can offer a full range of treatments, including cosmetic dentistry at a fraction of the cost charged in the UK. Also, many of the dental practices employ dentists and staff who are also English speaking and so the myth that perpetuates of miscommunication and lack of understanding between dentist and patient is simply untrue. Other reasons are:

dental tourism in poland

  • Only a short flight away, Poland is accessible to the majority of people in the UK and hence, complicated treatment that may mean return visits is possible to Krakow.
  • Not only is the cost of dental treatment competitive, the cost of flights and travel to Poland are also competitively priced. Some budget airlines, excluding taxes, have been known to offer one way flights for £40
  • There is no difference between the standard of service or the quality of dentistry between the  UK and Poland but the lack of waiting lists, the ability to arrange appointments that are convenient and timely, as well as in a comfortable, hygienic clinic is proving attractive to British people

Terms and conditions of a “Free Dental Holiday” offer:

  • The deposit of £200 is payable at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refunded once the patient has spent the equivalent of £2000 on dental treatments in our clinics in Krakow
  • The offer is only valid for the first trip booked with us
  • The flights are not included in the offer. Patients need to book their own flights and we can assist with helping to find the right connection

Why come to Poland?

Before anyone decides to go abroad the most important issue to think about is the language barrier. The patient has to be sure that they will be completely understood by the dentist and more importantly that they will understand everything about the treatment.

This is why we excel in providing the best service for our patients. Not only do the dentists speak fluent English but the owner of the clinic is a native speaker from the UK. Isobel Perera – Turostowska was born in the Uk and moved to Poland on graduating from Birmingham University. 7 Tips to Maximize Your Dental Tourism Experience in Albania

Introduction.

A lbania, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Balkans, has emerged as a beacon for dental tourism, attracting visitors from around the globe with its blend of professional dental services, affordable care, and breathtaking landscapes. The concept of Turismo dentale in Albania is not just about receiving dental care; it's an opportunity to experience a rich cultural tapestry while enhancing one's oral health. The allure of Impianti dentali in Albania and the expertise of a Dentista in Albania have positioned the country as a preferred destination for those seeking high-quality dental procedures at a fraction of the cost found in their home countries.

The importance of thorough preparation and research cannot be overstated when planning a dental tourism trip to Albania. It ensures that you not only maximize the benefits of your dental procedures but also enjoy a seamless and enriching travel experience. From understanding the scope of dental services available to familiarizing yourself with the nuances of Albanian culture and locales, each step taken in preparation is a stride towards a successful and fulfilling dental tourism journey.

1. Research the Best Dental Clinics in Albania

How to find reputable dental clinics.

The foundation of a successful dental tourism experience in Albania starts with finding a reputable clinic. Online reviews and testimonials offer a window into the experiences of past patients, providing insights into the quality of care and customer service. Websites such as Trustpilot and Google Reviews serve as platforms where individuals share their honest feedback, helping you gauge the reliability and reputation of a clinic.

Accreditation and certifications are equally critical. They are the hallmarks of excellence and compliance with international dental standards . Look for clinics accredited by recognized dental associations or those holding ISO certifications. This information is typically showcased on the clinic’s official website, signaling their commitment to quality and safety.

What to Look for in a Dental Clinic?

Beyond credentials, the choice of a dental clinic should be influenced by its adoption of modern technology and facilities. State-of-the-art equipment and the latest dental techniques contribute significantly to the precision and effectiveness of treatments, ensuring you receive the best possible care.

The presence of English-speaking staff is another essential factor. It guarantees clear communication, allowing you to express your concerns and preferences without language barriers. This can greatly enhance your comfort and confidence throughout your dental treatment journey.

PRO TIP: Leverage specialized dental tourism platforms for in-depth research and comparison. These platforms provide comprehensive profiles of dental clinics, including detailed services offered, pricing, and direct patient reviews. They are invaluable resources for making an informed decision, ensuring you select a clinic that best matches your needs and expectations.

2. Understand the Cost Benefits

Comparing costs with your home country.

One of the most compelling reasons to consider Turismo dentale in Albania is the significant cost savings on dental procedures compared to those in your home country, particularly if you're from the United States or Western European countries. For instance, dental implants, a highly sought-after procedure, can cost up to 50-70% less in Albania without compromising on quality or safety. Similarly, cosmetic dentistry services such as veneers, teeth whitening, and orthodontic treatments are offered at much more affordable rates.

Example Price Comparison for Common Procedures

  • Dental Implants: In the USA, the average cost of a single dental implant can range from $3,000 to $5,000. In contrast, in Albania, the cost can be as low as $800 to $1,200.
  • Teeth Whitening: A professional in-office teeth whitening session in the USA might cost around $500 to $1,000, whereas in Albania, it could be around $150 to $300.
  • Veneers: Per tooth, veneers can cost between $925 and $2,500 in the USA but only $200 to $400 in Albania.

Additional Costs to Consider

While the savings on dental procedures are significant, it's important to account for additional expenses such as accommodation, travel, and insurance. These can affect the overall cost of your dental tourism trip, although they are generally manageable and can still result in considerable overall savings.

  • Accommodation: Depending on your preferences, the cost can vary. Staying in a budget hotel or Airbnb can significantly lower your expenses compared to luxury accommodations.
  • Travel: Flight costs can fluctuate based on the season, so it's wise to book in advance and look for deals.
  • Insurance: Some travel insurance policies cover medical and dental emergencies abroad, which is worth considering for added peace of mind.

3. Consider the Treatment Time and Travel Plans

Scheduling your dental appointments.

When embarking on a dental tourism journey to Albania, it's imperative to meticulously plan your dental appointments in harmony with your travel plans. Early communication with your chosen dental clinic is key to ensuring that your treatment schedule aligns with your arrival and departure dates. Many reputable clinics are accustomed to accommodating international patients and can offer flexible scheduling to fit within your travel itinerary. This coordination is essential not only for the initial treatment but also for any necessary preparatory or follow-up appointments.

Recovery Time and Follow-Up Visits

Understanding the recovery time associated with your dental procedures is crucial for a stress-free experience. Some treatments may require you to rest for a few days post-procedure, while others might have minimal downtime, allowing you to explore Albania sooner. Discussing recovery expectations with your dentist beforehand will help in planning any leisure activities or sightseeing around your treatment.

Additionally, consider the possibility of needing follow-up visits or extended stays, especially for complex procedures that require multiple stages or adjustments. Planning for this contingency will ensure that your dental tourism experience is not only enjoyable but also aligned with your treatment goals, without the need for rushed or last-minute travel arrangements.

PRO TIP: Many dental clinics in Albania offer comprehensive packages that include accommodation and transport arrangements. Taking advantage of these packages can simplify planning and often provide cost savings, making your dental tourism experience smoother and more enjoyable.

4. Look into Travel and Accommodation Options

Where to stay in albania for dental work.

Choosing the right place to stay during your dental treatment in Albania can significantly impact your overall experience. It's advisable to opt for accommodations in tourist-friendly areas that are not only close to your chosen dental clinic but also offer easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and amenities. Cities like Tirana, Durres, and Saranda are popular among tourists for their vibrant culture, beautiful landscapes, and convenience. Many hotels and Airbnb options in these cities cater to international visitors, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Getting Around Albania

Navigating Albania is relatively straightforward, with various options available for tourists. Public transportation, including buses and taxis, is readily accessible in major cities and offers an affordable way to explore. However, for greater flexibility and the ability to discover more remote areas, renting a car might be a preferable option. Albania’s major roads are in good condition, and car rentals can provide an opportunity to venture beyond the city limits at your own pace.

5. Be Aware of the Language Barrier

Communicating with your dentist and clinic staff.

While Albania boasts a wide array of dental professionals fluent in English, especially in clinics catering to international patients, it's important to confirm language capabilities before booking your appointment. Clear communication is essential for discussing treatment plans, expectations, and any concerns you might have. Don’t hesitate to inquire about the availability of English-speaking staff when you contact the clinic.

PRO TIP: Enhancing your travel experience in Albania can be as simple as learning some basic Albanian phrases. This effort not only facilitates smoother interactions in daily situations but also shows respect for the local culture, often leading to warmer receptions and enriched experiences. Phrases like "Faleminderit" (Thank you) and "Përshëndetje" (Hello) can go a long way in building rapport with the locals, including your dental care providers.

6. Explore the Legal and Insurance Aspects

Understanding albanian medical laws and regulations.

When planning for dental work in Albania, familiarizing yourself with the country's medical laws and regulations is crucial. This knowledge will help you navigate the healthcare system more effectively and ensure that your dental treatments are performed in compliance with local standards. It's advisable to consult with your chosen dental clinic about these regulations or visit official Albanian health department websites for the most accurate and updated information.

Insurance Coverage for Overseas Dental Work

Many travelers may not realize that their health or dental insurance might offer coverage for dental work performed abroad. Before departing, it's important to contact your insurance provider to inquire about international coverage , including what procedures are covered, the extent of the coverage, and how to file a claim for overseas medical expenses. Understanding your insurance benefits can significantly affect your budgeting and planning for dental tourism in Albania.

7. Make Time to Enjoy Albania

Combining dental care with tourism.

Albania is a country rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, offering a plethora of experiences for tourists. Amid your dental treatment schedule, take the opportunity to explore Albania’s stunning landscapes, from the pristine beaches of the Albanian Riviera to the ancient ruins scattered across the country. Cities like Berat and Gjirokastër offer a glimpse into the nation’s Ottoman past, while the Albanian Alps provide breathtaking vistas for nature lovers.

Experiencing Albanian Culture and Cuisine

Albanian cuisine is a testament to the country’s rich cultural heritage, offering a variety of flavors that reflect its Mediterranean, Italian, and Ottoman influences. Do not miss the chance to indulge in traditional dishes such as Byrek (a savory pie), Tavë Kosi (baked lamb with yogurt), and Fërgesë (a tasty vegetable and cheese dish), which provide a delightful culinary experience. Engaging with the local culture through its food and participating in cultural events or festivals can enrich your dental tourism journey, making it an unforgettable experience.

As we wrap up our comprehensive guide on maximizing your dental tourism experience in Albania, it’s clear that this beautiful country offers much more than just affordable dental care. From the outset, we’ve explored essential tips ranging from conducting thorough research on dental clinics, understanding the significant cost benefits, aligning treatment with travel plans, navigating accommodation and transportation, to overcoming language barriers and ensuring legal and insurance matters are in order. Each of these steps is pivotal in ensuring that your journey to Albania for dental purposes is as smooth and beneficial as possible.

Albania’s allure doesn’t just lie in its ability to offer high-quality dental services at a fraction of the cost found elsewhere but also in its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality. dental treatment in warsaw

There are a lot of reasons to visit a dentist in Warsaw , the main one being that most dental treatments there cost less than half the price of those in the UK because of lower overheads and lower wages.

This means that getting treatment such as root canal work, dental implants, crowns, or even just a simple tooth extraction will be cheaper than you would pay back home.

It is true that there are many dental services offered at low prices through the NHS in the UK, but waiting lists can be up to three months or more for an appointment. Even when you do get an appointment, not all treatments are available on the NHS, and treatment options are limited.

If you choose to pay for private care in the UK it can be very expensive, which is why it is worth looking into dental tourism and travelling to places like Warsaw where you can save 50-70% on dental treatments.

Popular dental treatments in Warsaw

warsaw dentist

Some of the more popular treatments that people travel to Warsaw for include cosmetic dental treatments and restorative dental treatments.

Cosmetic dentistry is very popular because it can help people with their self-esteem and give them beautiful smiles. Procedures can include veneers, teeth whitening, and dental contouring.

Restorative dentistry is often a necessary treatment for patients who have experienced tooth decay or other forms of dental damage. Many dentists in Warsaw are skilled in both types of treatment, which makes them an ideal choice for those seeking care abroad.

Patients looking for long-term solutions may be interested in dental implants or All-on-4 full-mouth implants, which are very common dental procedures in Warsaw.

How much do dental treatments cost in Warsaw?

The cost of dental treatment in Warsaw is around a third of what you would expect to pay in the UK. This means that it is very affordable to get your teeth fixed in Poland.

There are a few reasons that dentistry is much cheaper in Poland than in most other countries, including:

  • Inexpensive material and supplies: Polish dentists purchase their materials from suppliers who can offer them at a lower price due to lower production costs.
  • Warsaw dentist salaries are low when compared with other European countries.
  • Cheaper overhead costs such as rent and bills.

The following table is a summary of approximate dental treatment costs that you can expect to pay in Warsaw:

Where are the best places to visit in Warsaw?

Besides dental treatment, there are many more reasons why you should consider travelling to Warsaw. Not only is it one of Europe’s most historic cities, but it also has stunning architecture and a wide variety of attractions.

During your stay, you can take a walking tour in and around Castle Square, visit one of Poland’s most renowned museums, or try some authentic Polish cuisine like pierogi, borscht or bigos.

There are also plenty of parks, gardens, art galleries and concert venues worth visiting when you’re not getting dental treatment abroad. Local food tastes great too!

If you want to know a little bit more about Warsaw before you decide to visit, watch the following travel guide:

What is the transport like in Warsaw?

Your visit will begin once you arrive at Poland's national airport—Warsaw Chopin Airport—where you’ll be able to pick up a hire car to drive yourself and your family around. Alternatively, taxi services are also available but these may cost more than hiring a car.

If you’re not renting a car then it’s best to rely on public transport. Warsaw's transportation system can take you just about anywhere with its extensive bus and tram system.

Buses operate from 5 am to 11 pm, while night buses are available twice every hour after 11 pm on most routes.

The dental clinic that you are getting treatment with may also help to arrange transport to and from the airport, and between the clinic and your accommodation.

Accommodation in Warsaw

When it comes to accommodation options in Warsaw there are plenty of options ranging from hotels, bed and breakfasts, and AirBandBs. There is a wide range of choices available so you can find accommodation that suits your budget.

There are also some excellent hostels in Warsaw, perfect for those with limited funds but who still want to enjoy all of their time in the city before returning home with healthy teeth.

If possible try and book somewhere close to the dental clinic where you are receiving your treatment. That way you don't have to worry about travelling to and from your appointments.

Your dental clinic will most likely be able to suggest accommodation near the clinic. They may even be able to get a discounted rate at certain hotels, and some clinics may even provide accommodation!

Quality, education and dental regulations

The quality of dental care in Poland is highly comparable to the UK, and regulations are strict . To become a qualified dentist in Poland, one must go through five years of studies at university before taking up an internship for 12 months. They may only perform treatments under supervision during this period.

Polish dentists are not regulated by the government, instead, regulation is handled by the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists. All reputable Polish dentists ought to have registration with the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists, which you can verify by contacting them.

As there are no governmental regulations, you should make sure that the clinic of your choice is certified by ISO 9001 (International Organization for Standardisation) and International Quality Monitoring Centre. You can also check if they are accredited by any of the other international standards.

Travelling to get dental treatment in Warsaw is popular for those coming from the UK and other nearby European countries.  While it might seem a bit daunting, there are many reasons why you may want to consider it.

Warsaw is very close to the UK, so flying over is easy – just a short flight away. Secondly, dentists in Poland are renowned worldwide and they are highly qualified with decades of experience – they have undergone rigorous training within their profession.

Dentists in Warsaw have all the modern equipment and expertise that you will find in any top-level UK clinic, but with lower prices and higher quality care. If you are looking for high-quality and low-cost dentistry abroad then this is definitely the place to come.

Warsaw itself has everything you need from a country that knows how to treat its tourists, with plenty of world-famous architecture, beautiful countryside and a warm, welcoming culture.

So, if you are thinking of travelling abroad for dental treatment, then don't hesitate to visit Warsaw. For other options in Poland, you can also read our guide about getting dental treatment in Krakow .
