All was good, the only thing was it didn't run on time.

Crew were pleasant, happy to be there and were a joy to be around. Entire operation was professional, well thought out and ran like a Swiss clock.

United flight from SFO to PDX was cancelled. I will ask for a refund. Had to book on Alaska

They announced food service but then never came around. We also couldn’t land so kept trying to get to runway and then had to come up and go around happened like 3 times and cause the child next to me to start throwing up

The recline on the seat in front of me came back so that I was staring at the top of the man’s head in front of me the whole trip. He refused to bring his seat back up twice every time he was instructed to do so and only relented when he had a tray of good in front of him. And then right back in my lap!!! Horrible man!! I complained to the staff multiple times, but no one would address the issue. Otherwise, it would have been a perfect flight.

There was a snafu with confirming seats at check which left us in limbo for the second leg of our trip. I believe the ANZ app is not well integrated with the systems at the terminal resulting in this disconcerting error.

Flight was canceled due to technical issue shortly before the check-in counters opened. Passengers were rebooked on a flight three days later. Request to be accommodated on Air Tahiti Nui could not be processed. Customer service sorted out the refund after calling and being put on hold for almost an hour.

The pilot tried to make up for lost time due to delays that were out of her control. She communicated the issues openly and clearly and made every effort to do what she could to alleviate issues.

Flight attendants are always pleasant and helpful. Pilot kept us updated.

Business class Seats on the A350 from Nan to YVR were wonderful. The flight crew was okay but could do with better training. Toilets were clean but ran out of paper towels towards the end of the flight. The food/menu and the wine offered really needs considerable improvement. Dinner options were either Bolani, a beef sandwich (even this could be made much better), or paneer butter masala. Unfortunately, if you are not a fan of Fijian food, there isn’t much choice. Dessert was either turmeric ice cream or fruits but unfortunately, they were out of fruit! So the only option was turmeric ice cream. I’m not certain how many passengers like turmeric but I am not one of them. They need to cater to a more diverse group of people. Perhaps they need a new chef? The movies& tv shows were mostly older so I didn’t find that interesting either. It was however, fun to view the plane’s exterior cameras as we take off and land. The best thing about this flight are the business class seats.

Fiji left without me because American Airlines was too stupid to get to LAX on time. Fiji should have offered a standby on another flight but they told me tough luck. I will never fly with this company again.

The A350 aircraft business class experience was very good. Comfortable and well appointed pod, and supplemental bed pad available for sleeping. Food was very good.

Initial flight was cancelled so moved to an alternative flight. As a result, stuck in a middle seat. Flight then place in holding pattern prior to landing resulting in a very late trip home.

Flight delay was informed at the last minute. Food quality is not up to Qantas standard I was unable to book an online boarding pass on any of my 6 flights.

Following a marathon flight riddled by delays and changes from Santiago, Chile, my flight to Melbourne from Sydney was on schedule but I was transferred to the next flight. The reason by ticketing and the floor manager was I missed the entry to flight by one minute! That's right, the emphasised that if I was 1 minute earlier I would be on the flight. I asked what was the point them emphasising 1minute overdue and how that helped me or the situation. They didn't care at all. Replying that if it was one minute earlier they would've done something and smirking delivering the information. Australian's do call Australia home, Qantas calls Australian's suckers.

Was 4 1/2 hours delayed. No food options, poor entertainment and cramped seats made worse by people in front reclining while we could not as in back row.

The baggage handlers broke the handle on my bag that they put under the plane that I checked on the jetway. They traded it out for a less quality bag in Tulsa. But, they said they would try to fix it. Bologna! There was no fixing that bag handle. Someone didn’t care how they treated the bag.

Frankfurt airport is the worst. Passengers are forced to use stairs to get to the terminal or catch a shuttle. Very inconvenient for passengers who are ambulatory challenged or have physical handicaps.

The entertainment wasn’t playing in the app or online.

Lady was a bit rude during boarding and I was being nice to her.

Why does it have to be painful to fly long distances?

It is a modern tragedy that any airline expects you to travel for 14 hours in such discomfort and that the only way to add comfort is exorbitant prices. I was in pain by the time we landed. Shameful.

No real agent onsite helping you for missing luggage there. Not like the other airline next to UA desk, they have staff attending in their desk assisting answer/helping luggage issue, even after midnight.

The scheduled flight was to leave at 11:15pm from Vancouver Airport. We waited 90 minuets in the plane for take-off . They announces an Electrical fault with the aircraft, Air Canada announced the Flight was Cancelled at 12:30am. and we were taken off the plane. We had to wait to collect all our luggage, after that we had to stand in line (for2 and half hours) to be processed back into Canada, (with security checks etc) We stood in ques from 12:30am until 3 am and was only offered 250 ml of water. When we got in front of the que, we were told there is no Hotel accommodation for us. We were handed a new boarding card for a flight at 10:45 am ( we had to report at 7 am) We were told to find somewhere to sleep on the airport floor! It was cold as a blanket was not offered! The time was 3:30 am now and the cleaners had no respect and was driving around with the noisy vacuum cleaners! Trying to sleep under the bright lights and on the hard floor it was very uncomfortable as our (over 60's ) bodies was in pain from the hard floor. At 7 am we were processed again though all the airport security checks, scans etc. The flight to Brisbane took off at 11am ( 12 HOURS LATER ) !! We had to report at 7am to book in with Air Canada again, for a new flight at 10.45am to Brisbane.

I was unaware I was booking the basic economy flight and had to spend an extra $125 for baggage plus $100 for seat selection. There was also no opportunity to upgrade into a different ticket type. The seats were very cramped and mine wouldn’t stay reclined

We did not take this trip !! I told Air Canada months ago to cancel this reservation . But , since they offered no rebate or a way to save credits everything was a loss . Why they continued to contact me about check in , etc . I will never understand!!

There wasn't even a screen on the seat for An almost 4 hours flight and they gave us water.....that's it. And for the record, it wasn't cheap

There was a mistake with the first name we only discovered at security. Air canada was unable to correct it to match then passport since it was booked through an agency. The agency could not correct it either since they need at least two hours to do that. We could not fly and lost a bunch of money. Learned my lesson about kayak.

My flight got canceled. Then AC rebooked me to a next day flight. No compensation no apology. It almost messed up my entire trip and schedule. However, all the unexpepected seems routine and ordinary to AC, so customers need to get used to.

The food was horrible the flying attendance hardly made any checks and the seats were very tied ..

I love air Canada. The staff is so helpful and friendly and attentive. I paid for extra room but chose a ser near a person who took up a lot of space which gave me less space than regular economy, I was sad I did that!

I appreciated the flight was on schedule but the crew told us that the flight would be delayed because of an air craft queue to take off. Instead of us arriving at 11.55pm, we were in Toronto at something past 2am which was a massive disadvantage on my part.

VANCOUVER — Air Canada celebrated the success of its direct service between Vancouver and Brisbane with a special industry event in Vancouver. 

Taking place on June 12 and co-hosted by Goway Travel and Visit Brisbane, the event welcomed 88 travel advisors, including one who was awarded an Air Canada trip to Brisbane as a door prize. 

Luke Jones, Director of Americas, Brisbane Economic Development, also attended to highlight Brisbane’s many offerings and why it’s considered the best gateway to Australia from Canada. Not only is Brisbane the fastest point of entry into Australia from Canada, it will also be front and centre on the global stage in the next few years as host to the 2032 Olympics. 

In addition, Brisbane will also welcome four new premium hotels this year, including The Grand Star Brisbane (5 stars), Dorsett (4.5 stars), Rosewood Hotel (Australia’s first 6-star hotel), and The Treasury Hotel, a refurbishment of one of the city’s most iconic heritage hotels.

As for new attractions, Bluey’s World, a brand new immersive experience featuring real-life sets, recognizable scenes and beloved characters from the hit show ‘Bluey,’ will open in Brisbane (Bluey’s hometown) on Nov. 7, 2024. Tickets for Bluey’s World are already on sale at www.blueysworld.com .

Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran serves drinks on plane to Japan as apology after flight diverted to pick up trade delegation

A ir New Zealand’s boss helped cabin crew serve drinks on an Auckland to Tokyo flight that was diverted to pick up a trade delegation stranded after the Prime Minister’s plane broke down.

Around 30 of the country’s top business people plus Trade Minister Todd McClay, government officials, a kapa haka group and media were stranded in Papua New Guinea overnight after the Defence Force 757 blew two fuses during a refuelling stop on its way to Japan for a trade trip.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon jumped on a commercial flight to Japan, via Hong Kong, as soon as plane issues emerged on Sunday.

The Defence Force (NZDF) plane was able to fly at low altitude to Brisbane this morning, where the delegation group boarded an Air New Zealand flight to Tokyo this afternoon.

Air NZ chief executive Greg Foran, who was a member of the contingent, was first to make his way on to the aircraft this afternoon, shortly after speaking over the plane’s intercom apologising to passengers for the inconvenience.

After the plane was airborne, Foran and Air NZ chairwoman Dame Therese Walsh teamed up with cabin crew and jumped on to the drinks cart. The pair made their way through first class through to economy handing out drinks.

Instead of sitting in first class, both Foran and Walsh sat at the back of the plane, in economy.

Speaking to media before the flight left Brisbane, Foran said; “It just happened to be that things worked out.

“It’s added about two hours on to people’s trip so they’ll get in a couple of hours later into Narita than they normally would and we just happened to have enough seats on the plane,” Foran said.

He said he’d received a text message from Luxon overnight, saying he would land in Tokyo about 8am this morning.

“[He was] very thankful for Therese and I jumping in and doing what we’re doing.

“Full credit to the Air New Zealand team to pivot and do what they did,” Foran said.

Air new zealand boss to apologise to delayed passengers on japan flight.

The boss of Air New Zealand says he'll spend a flight to Japan personally apologising to passengers for the inconvenience of diverting to pick up a trade delegation stranded after the Prime Minister's plane broke down.

Otherwise his seat is at the back of the plane - row 66 right next to the loo.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon was forced to fly commercial to Japan after the Defence Force 757 clapped out in Papua New Guinea on Sunday after two fuses blew while refuelling.

That meant leaving behind 52 people who were travelling with him.

But as luck would have it Air New Zealand chief executive Greg Foran was one of them and he told Checkpoint they were able to thumb a ride for the group by diverting a flight to Japan through Brisbane.

"Things were pretty grim yesterday afternoon, as you can imagine as things unfolded."

But one of the options was to check on the availability of seats on an Air New Zealand flight to Narita.

"One of the options that we looked at was to make a quick call back and say, well just how many seats do we have on this flight tomorrow.

"With a bit of luck, it did actually work out just about perfectly. So we've got a very full plane now."

Passengers already on the flight experienced about a two-hour delay due to the Brisbane detour, said Foran.

"I'm forever grateful, that hopefully they're going to be OK with that. I'll be on that plane in a few minutes and I'll make sure that I personally go around and thank them all and do my job on making sure that we look after them."

He did not know how much all of this would cost, he said.

"At the end of the day, we've actually been flat out ... just doing the logistics."

Trip worth it to promote tourism

Foran believed it was still worth going to Japan despite arriving nearly a day later than planned.

It was a "really great tourist market" for Air New Zealand, he said.

"There's a lot of Kiwis heading out to Japan and we're putting on a bigger gauge flight, a 777 will start running on that particular route and that's got another 40 or 50 seats on it, so over the season that's another 30,000 seats.

"So we're very keen to get out there and promote Japan as a tourist destination and interestingly, it's been a massive ... inbound market for us over the years."

Foran said that had not rebounded after Covid so this was a chance to get more Japanese visitors to New Zealand.

When asked whether Air New Zealand had the capacity for charter flights for Luxon due to Defence Force plane troubles, Foran's response was, "It depends".

He said while this time they could accommodate everyone, it was also the slowest point of the season.

"Sometimes it could be leasing a plane for a period and other times it could be just using a flight that's already going."
