Tours Airport is also known as the Tours Val de Loire, as it is located in the Loire Valley of France, and is a small destination with just over a hundred thousand passengers per annum. It is located nearby the city of Tours, as well as nearby a number of other prominent French cities, and has reasonable facilities for it’s passengers. It is only served by a few airline companies, but is nonetheless an important part of the country’s airport systems. It has the official IATA code of TUF, and it’s ICAO code is listed as LFOT. Tours Airport dates back to the 1930’s, but was at this time only used as a military air base. It was badly damaged, and even described as ‘destroyed’, during the Second World War by German and British bombers. However, it’s facilities were restored and it was then used by NATO and the US Air Force. In later years (the 1950’s), the airport became a flying school, and finally, in the earlier 1960’s, it started commercial flights and was open to public use. The airport did well in terms of traffic towards the end of the 1970’s, as it was then served by the local airline carrier known as Touraine Air Transport, or TAT. However, the services of this airline company became less popular, and Tours suffered the consequences. In the 1990’s, subventions by the Conseil Général helped to re-establish the airport.

Today, the airport is served by the airline companies of Ryanair and Flybe, and receives passengers in excess of a hundred thousand a year. It’s traffic numbers started to increase quite dramatically in the early 2000’s, jumping from only just over 30,000 passengers in 2002 to just over 60,000 in 2003. 2004 saw over 80,000 passengers and the totals recorded for 2005 were over 90,000. The next two years dropped back to under 90,000, but still remained over 80,000, and from 2008 Tours has not seen less than 90,000 passengers per annum. Its best year so far was 2010, with a total of 123,137 passengers. Just over a hundred and twenty thousand passengers passed through the facilities in 2011 as well. In future years the airport management company hope to further increase commercial traffic.

The city of Tours is located to the southwest and southeast of Caen, Alencon and Le Mans (70km), Paris and Orleans, and to the east of Nantes and Angers (96km). The main access road of the airport is known as the D910, and a ten minute journey on this road to the north will bring motorists to the A10 and the A28 motorways. The A10 is taken for Orleans and Paris, and the A28 heads for Le Mans. Towards the south, the A10 continues to Poitiers. South of Tours as well, is the A85 running to the east and west, providing connections to Vierzon and Angers. Passengers in private vehicles can easily reach the airport from all directions, and will find short-term and long-term parking facilities at the site. Tours Airport is also one of the only in Europe to offer free parking. However, there are also buses and taxis which travel to and from the airport. The bus services are not extensive, but do travel to the Tours Train Station, which is a useful connection for passengers who are continuing their journey by rail. The station is also at the Tours Bus Station, and in the city centre. There is no train station at the airport. Taxis are available in the taxi rank in front of the terminal, taking passengers to all nearby locations.

Tours Airport has one runway and one terminal building. It’s runway is paved, and measures a length of 2.404 metres. Aircraft of the Boeing 737-800 types and others similar are used by the carriers of the airport, but due to limited security measures, it is unable to accept aircraft of a larger variety. The passenger terminal is approximately 1,500 square metres in size, with an arrival and departure area, and an annual processing capacity of 100,000 passengers. It is quite well equipped for an airport of this size, with facilities that include a restaurant, a few shops, cash machines, meeting rooms, a lounge offering some business services, a bureau de change, public telephones and baby-changing areas. The terminal is also accessible to disabled passengers, and has information points. For arriving passengers, car hire companies provide vehicles for transport as well.

Tours Val de Loire Airport (French: Aeroport Tours Val de Loire) (IATA: TUF, ICAO: LFOT) is an airport in the French department of Indre-et-Loire, 6 km (3.2 miles) north-northeast of the city of Tours in the Loire Valley (Val de Loire). The airport is located partly on the territory of the communes of Tours and ParĂƒÂ§ay-Meslay.

The airport is open to both national and international carriers, private planes and is certified for both instrument flight and visual flight. It has daily flights to several European destinations operated by Ryanair using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, as well as non-regular flights to Lyon and Bastia. Due to its limited security measures, the airport is not open to larger carriers.

The airport dates back to the 1930s, and was first used as a military base. From the early 1960s, Tours Airport was opened to the public. Tours Val de Loire Airport is a small airport located just north-east of the city of Tours in the Loire Valley, France. The airport sits approximately 6 km north-east of the city center and it is served by the low budget airlines like RyanAir. The airport serves Tours and the Loire Valley area with domestic, international and private flights.

The airport has one single terminal and there is a small car rental facility located only a few minutes’ walk from the terminal. It has one single runway with a concrete surface and it is 2,404 m/7,887 ft long.

The airport saw around 184,000 passengers come through it in 2019, a number that decreased to 45,000 the following year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The airport was first established as a French Air Force, Armee de l’Air, training center during World War I. Many French as well as some American aviators were trained at the center. In the summer of 1917 the school was provided to the American Expeditionary Forces who also used it as a training center, first for pilots going through combat training, but later as a training center for different types of aerial training for the United States Air Force. The school wasn’t only an aerial school it was also used as a radio school and a photography school during this time.

It was returned to the French Air Force in 1918 who used it as a military base. After World War II it was used by NATO and the US Air Force until it became a flying school in the 1950s.

The airport opened to the public in the early 1960s and it had a golden period at the end of the 1970s when the local airline Touraine Air Transport (TAT) used it as their headquarters.

The airport is operated by Ministère de la Défense (FASF).

Buses – The airport isn’t directly served by a bus service. There is however a bus stop approximately 1 km/0.6 mi from the terminal, in Vaucanson, which goes to central Tours. Repas très médiocres. Du mousseux en lieu et place de champagne. Même en Premium, le confort est le point noir. Les reposes pieds sont grippés et difficilement manipulables et le support des jambes est quasiment inutilisable. L’avion est bruyant et l’écoute avec les écouteurs est pénible. Avec la pub que fait la compagnie sur le confort et les équipements, on a l’impression d’être dans un avion 5 étoiles. En réalité on en est bien loin.

En voyageant avec Air Tahiti Nui vous prolongez un peu votre séjour en Polynésie. L’ambiance en cabine est agréable et les vêtements des hôtesses et des stewards sont sympa. Air Tahiti Nui n’y est pour rien mais au dessus du Canada il y a eu de sacrées turbulences.

La position dans l’avion était bien, mais par contre être au milieu avec deux fort gabarit de part et d’autre on rendu le vol plus qu’inconfortable !!

Les repose-pieds sont fixes et pourraient être ajustables comme dans les TGV pour un meilleur confort. Une balance VISIBLE au check in avec un rappel sur le poids des bagages cabines seraient le minimum pour éviter les mauvaises surprises...sans compter perte de temps, énergie et argent!

L'embarquement pour ma femme à durée plus de 2h cause de la douane je l'entend mais on à eu très peur de rater l'avion. On à payer 50 euros de plus chacun pour des places où tout le monde se déplace constamment pour aller au toilette qui était vraiment sale au bout de 1 h de vol. ma tablette ne fonctionner pas correctement.

Elle correspond à ce que j'attend sur un court courrier : salon confortable à CDG , embarquement dans l'ordre et rapide, vol ponctuel.

Vol en retard, trop chaud dans l’avion et pas de service de boisson proposée

Pas de possibilité de s’enregistrer à l’avance, aucune gestion par Kayak de cette étape, surcoût important à l’aéroport (165€!) C’est inadmissible 😬

Le vol très bien par contre la valise a pas prit la même direction arrivée à l’aéroport pas de valise donc pas très cool on a perdue 2heures et toujours pas de nouvelles sur un vol de bordeaux faro maintenant il faut attendre jusqu’au 2 juillet c’est très contrariant pour un départ le 5 juillet .

Entre le personnel qui n’est ni avenant ni souriant ni sympathique, le pilote qui a du avoir son permis dans une pochette surprise, il devrait faire une mise à jour pour les atterrissages, il a du s y reprendre à deux fois, et la deuxième fois tout le monde a eu la peur de leur vie. Il ne s’est pas excusé ni exprimé en français. Deux vieilles phrases en anglais et en Italien pour dire qu’il allait faire un deuxième essai. Bref merci mais non mais merci Ryanair.

Vol retardé 2h d'attente dans l'aéroport , puis changement de porte d'embarquement sans information du personnel , puis embarquement , puis de nouveau 2h d'attente sur le tarmac avec très peu d'informations il a fallut les réclamer a plusieurs reprises auprès du personnel . Pas de gestes commercials de la part de Ryanair si ce n'est 4€ a dépenser dans les boutiques pour un rafraichissement sauf que les boutiques étaient fermés . Arrivée à 3h du matin donc plus de transport publics et pas d'autre proposition par Ryanair

Le vol était comme je vous l’ai noté médiocre, car aucun équipage, aucun confort . Nous avons pris ce vol pour un standing air austral et non du low-cost.

Vol de 30 min, trop rapide pour avoir un avis. En revanche, impossible de choisir sa place, en conséquence que les couples et les familles sont séparés. N’importe quoi. On n’est pas sur du low cost quand même !!

Je suis une fidèle d’AirAustral, mais le confort a beaucoup régressé en quelques années. L’espace entre les sièges en classe eco est moindre que sur Ryanair - pendant 11h de vol, c’est l’horreur. Et si la personne devant vous bascule son siège, c’est comme s’il dormait sur vos genoux. Très peu de films disponibles en comparaison d’autres compagnies sur le système de divertissement. Repas correct, mais pas de choix entre 2 plats comme les autres compagnies et surtout des « à côté » (du pain, une barre chocolatée…) Enfin, le personnel est très gentil, mais de moins en moins concerné. Le service est lent, tout le monde disparaît en même temps pour une pause (?!!), et en général, il n’y a plus vraiment l’attention et cette chaleur propre à la Réunion qui faisait le charme de la compagnie il y a quelques années. Deux expériences très moyennes en 2 ans, pour des tarifs élevés. Pas sûre que je poursuive…

1h30 de retard pas d’excuses pas d’infos à l’image de air austral actuellement

Le confort du UU120 m'a plu j'ai moins apprécié le fait de recevoir en collation juste un demie verre de jus, comparativement à avant cette crise ou on avait droit en plus du verre de jus à 2 petit biscuit ou un mini sachet de cacahouète /bretzel. J'ai l'impression que tout est devenu low cost alors que les billets d'avion ne cesse d'augmenter et je vous parle même pas des longs courrier.
