All divers are required to fill out a questionnaire before they are cleared to dive. Please view the questionnaire here and discuss with us anything that may prevent you from diving before you book. Pre-booked dive packages will not be refunded if you are not cleared to dive and failed to make us aware of anything which may restrict your ability to dive prior to your reservation. Please only bring with you a small to medium size carry on luggage (1 carry on per person). If you wish to store a full size luggage with us for the time you are on the tour, you can bring it to our Cairns office, which is about 15 minutes walk to Marlin Marina.

Queensland Public Holidays - please note that any bookings which fall on a Queensland Public Holiday will incur an additional surcharge of $50 per person. This surcharge will be paid on board on the day of the tour. If you would like to check the date you are travelling prior to booking, please contact our office.

Super Peak Season Surcharge : a Peak Season Surcharge of $100 per person applies to all travel from 25 December 2023 to 1 January 2024, 28 March 2024 to 2 April 2024, and 23 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.

3 Day Great Barrier Reef Liveaboard Tour Itinerary

Day one begins when we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Cairns and take you out onto the Great Barrier Reef. We’ll arrive at our first reef site where you can jump in and start exploring the enchanting underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. You’ll get up close and personal with the reef’s native marine life and enjoy the scenery from a different perspective. We discover a different reef every day, your captain considers weather conditions, seasonality and water clarity to choose the best spot each day. This ensures you have the best possible reef experience each day.

Unlimited snorkelling is included, or you can go for the full experience by upgrading to a dive package. Certified divers can include up to seven daytime dives and two night dives for a truly unique way to see the reef. For travellers who have never dived before, we offer beginner dive packages. These include up to seven daytime dives with no experience necessary. Dive upgrades are subject to availability

As the sun sets, relax with a drink in hand at our fully licenced bar. Enjoy a freshly prepared meal in our large dining saloon. Our onboard chef is happy to cater to all dietary requirements (please mention any when you book). Then you will have time to relax in the large communal areas or back at your own cabin with ocean views and en-suite. Our 35 metre catamaran is designed for the utmost stability and comfort at sea, so you can sleep soundly.

It’s an early start at 5.30am on day two for those who want to try the dawn dive, where we’ll jump right into our first diving session of the trip before breakfast. We’ll then make our way to the second reef site for some more snorkelling fun. We’ll spend another day snorkelling, diving, relaxing and enjoying our amazing surroundings before another delicious meal and relaxing evening.

It’s another 5.30am start on the final day, where we’ll take you out for your last morning snorkel session before breakfast. We’ll take in a few more awesome reef sites before we head back to Cairns in the afternoon.

If you cannot see your hotel as an option for pickup when making your booking, please contact us and we can advise you on your nearest pickup location. We cannot pickup from residential addresses.

Return transfers incur additional charges to be paid in cash on the day of the tour.

This is the allure of the Sunshine Coast, the Aussies’ favorite local retreat.

From the sun-drenched shores of Noosa to the tranquil beauty of the Glass House Mountains, every corner of the Sunshine Coast invites exploration.

So, what’s the best way to see it all when you’re short on time in your Australia vacation?

We’ve made it easy for you with our guide on how to spend three days in the Sunshine Coast.

Maroochydore and Mooloolaba: The Heart of the Sunshine Coast

Maroochydore is at the heart of the Sunshine Coast. The quickest (and easiest) way for international travelers to get to the Sunshine Coast is via a private transfer from the Brisbane airport into Maroochydore or one of the surrounding beach towns.  If you’re heading to Sunshine Coast in the middle of your itinerary, there may be a direct flight into the Sunshine Coast Airport, also located in Maroochydore. 

With its pristine beaches, sparkling river, and central location, Maroochydore is the perfect base for your Sunshine Coast adventure.

Morning: Breakfast by the Beach

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at one of the many beachfront cafes along the Esplanade. Whether you prefer a classic Aussie brekkie (breakfast) or something more unique, you’ll find plenty of fresh options that cater to your taste.

After breakfast, take a leisurely stroll along Maroochydore Beach. The beach is famous for its golden sands and gentle waves, making it a great spot for an early swim or simply relaxing under the sun. You can even rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore the tranquil waters.

Midday: Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba

Make the ten-minute journey to Alexandra Headland, one of the most scenic spots of the Sunshine Coast.

Take a break at Alexandra Headland Beach, soaking in the breathtaking views at Alex Corner or watch the surfers catch rolling waves at The Bluff. And if you feel the call to dip your toes in the beach, definitely go for it! It’s patrolled by the Alexandra Headland Surf Club, which makes it an excellent and safe spot to swim.

Once you’ve worked up a hearty appetite at the beach, head down to Mooloolaba for the freshest seafood and delicious waterfront restaurants. Located just a three-minute drive from Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba is the perfect Sunshine Coast destination for culinary delights.

Get a classic Aussie fish ‘n’ chips at Fisheries on the Spit, or venture down Brisbane Road to Flaming Sushi House, nestled by Mooloolah River. For a more local experience, grab a spot at The Velo Project, where you’ll find farm-fresh food in a rustic chic setting.

Afternoon: Mooloolaba and Caloundra

After lunch, take a stroll along the Point Cartwright Walkway to the heritage-listed Point Cartwright Lighthouse. Keep an eye out for whales, as they pass through these waters from June to November.

If you’re craving more beach time, you can take your pick along the coast! We recommend taking the 20-minute journey to Caloundra, home to a score of Sunshine Coast’s gorgeous beaches.

Favorites include the protected waters of Kings Beach and the natural rock pools brimming with marine life at Shelly Beach.

You can also take it easy with a stroll down the Caloundra Coastal Pathway, stretching by beaches, lakes, and creeks.

Evening: Coastal Culinary Delights

If you stick around Mooloolaba as the sun begins to set, make your way to Spice Bar, a renowned Asian fine dining restaurant. Indulge in a five or seven-course degustation menu, expertly crafted by the chef. Each dish is paired with selections from their cocktail, sake, or wine menu, topping off a memorable culinary experience.

Back in Maroochydore, you can indulge in creative seafood specialties at The Boat Shed, or get takeaway fish ‘n’ chips to the beach and watch the sunset.

For a laid back bistro dinner, head to Duporth Tavern, where familiar sports bar favorites are elevated with local flavors and ingredients.

Morning: Set Off to Australia Zoo

The zoo spans over 700 acres, with 110 acres on display (which is approximately the size of 83 football fields!). Explore the different themed sections, including the African Savannah, where you can see majestic southern white rhinoceroses, zebras, and cheetahs.

Check the schedule for animal keeper talks throughout the day, where you’ll get fascinating insights into the animals’ behaviors and habitats.

And of course, don’t miss your chance to meet native Australian wildlife! Hand feed kangaroos, meet adorable quokkas, or sign up for a photo op with koalas. Most animal encounters fill up fast and are scheduled early in the morning, so you’ll want to book in advance.

After lunch at the zoo’s Crikey Cafe, make your way to the Crocoseum for the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Show. This is the highlight of the zoo, where you’ll watch in awe as giant saltwater crocodiles leap out of the water and marvel at the stunning birds swooping overhead.

Afternoon: A Relaxing Return

Evening: Ocean Street

After your day at Australia Zoo, head back to Maroochydore for an evening of local fun at Ocean Street, the hub of the town’s dining and nightlife scene. The Glass House Mountains: Sunshine Coast Hinterland

The Glass House Mountains, a striking cluster of volcanic peaks located just a 35-minute drive from Maroochydore, offer a breathtaking setting for hinterland adventures and simply unwinding in a scenic environment. Spending a day exploring these iconic mountains is the perfect top-off for your last day in Sunshine Coast.

Morning: Arrival and Scenic Views

Kick off your day with an early drive from your accommodation. Dazzling hinterland scenery of subtropical rainforest surrounds you as you hit the road. The journey provides picturesque views as you approach the mountains.

Arrive at the Glass House Mountains Lookout—a true gem that promises jaw-dropping panoramic views of the towering peaks It’s the perfect spot to snap some incredible photos and soak in the natural geological wonders that rise boldly from the coastal plains.

The Mount Ngungun favorite among adventurers, offering a fun and moderately challenging hike that takes you to the very top. The trail winds through lush greenery, and as you climb, the sights become even more spectacular. If you’re in the mood for something a bit easier, check out the Pine Rivers Park walking trails or the lovely Gardners Falls. These spots are perfect for a peaceful stroll where you can unwind and soak in the soothing sounds of nature all around you.

Lunchtime: Picnic with a View

Once you’ve wrapped up your morning escapades, it’s time to refuel with a delightful picnic lunch at one of the scenic picnic spots, or why not pop into a cozy café in the delightful towns of Maleny or Montville? These picturesque gems not only dish up mouthwatering meals but also boast breathtaking vistas of the Glass House Mountains.

Grab a warm cup of coffee (we recommend a flat white) and indulge in a scrumptious homemade treat while you soak up the serene atmosphere. Keep your eyes peeled—you might just catch a glimpse of playful kangaroos and colorful native birds!

After lunch, explore the local Glass House Mountains attractions. Swing by the Maleny Cheese Factory, where you can sample and purchase delicious local cheeses.

If you’re in the mood for more exploration, head over to the Maleny Botanical Gardens, featuring landscaped gardens and stunning views of the mountains.

Enjoy sips of wine with a view at Kondalilla Falls Winery, where you can indulge in exquisite wine tastings while soaking in vistas of the hinterland.

Evening: Sunset at the Lookout

Days 1 to 2: Sydney – Vibe Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour A two-day visit to Sydney lets you explore the city’s iconic landmarks and coastal beauty. Start with the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge; then wander through The Rocks and enjoy a ferry ride to Manly Beach. On the second day, relax at Bondi Beach or walk the scenic Bondi to Coogee trail; followed by a visit to Darling Harbour or the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Finish with dinner in Circular Quay, taking in the stunning views of the city skyline. Days 3 to 13 – Ten-Night Great Barrier Reef Cruise aboard Carnival Splendor™ Day 1: Sydney - Departs at 16:00 As you’re departing Sydney aboard Carnival Splendor™, you’ll be surrounded by icons. Day 2: Fun Day at Sea No port of call today! It’s a great time to explore your ship and its exciting entertainment, food, and activities! Or take it easy at the pool, spa, or...if you book a room with a balcony…enjoy the waves. 

Day 3: Tangalooma - Moreton Island 08:00 to 18:00 Tangalooma Island Resort gives you access to one of Australia’s best-kept secrets. Delight in snorkelling the famous shipwrecks or go whale watching for an experience you’ll never forget. Take an exhilarating 4WD bus adventure around Tangalooma, Moreton Island, the 3rd-largest sand island in the world! Look forward to sand tobogganing down the dunes on a desert safari, ATV quad bike tours, scenic helicopter flights, spotting turtles on a clear bottom kayak tour, or even a spot of parasailing.   Day 4: Fun Day at Sea No port today! So make the most of your ship and its amazing on-board facilities! Simply take it easy at the pool, indulge in a treatment in the spa, and soak up the unfolding views with a cocktail in hand. 

Day 5: Airlie Beach 07:00 to 16:00 The white sands of world-famous Whitehaven Beach, glass-bottom-boat day tours on the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea, high-speed catamaran joy rides, and Hamilton Island region magic await at Airlie Beach. Travel to the heart of the 74 islands that comprise the picture-perfect Whitsunday Islands, an Australian treasure. Snorkel from the Great Barrier Reef pontoon or set out on full day or half day scenic must-see Queensland tours. Relish a day trip to the Conway National Park or walk around Shute Harbour. Enjoy boutique shopping at the Port of Airlie. Take a boat ride and cruise Whitsunday Islands, coves, and coral reefs. Experience a jet boat or jet-ski and go ocean rafting. Day 6: Cairns 09:30 to 19:30 Visit the coastal city of Cairns and enjoy a smorgasbord of fun and adventure on land and water. Daintree Rainforest tours are the ideal way to experience the ecosystem of the wet tropics of Queensland. Go snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, experience the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail, or have a tropical rainforest nature park adventure. A day trip to Cairns itself is always worth it, with amazing shopping on the Esplanade and scenic walks that will blow you away. Experience stunning far North Queensland: browse the numerous art galleries and restaurants; discover the local cultural and historical sites; and visit Cooktown, which is home to the James Cook Museum. 

Day 7: Port Douglas 08:00 to 17:30 Few places on Earth can rival the breath-taking beauty of Port Douglas. Embrace the Great Barrier Reef, embark on a sunset cruise, delve into the world heritage-listed Daintree forest and national park, or dive into the outer Agincourt reef for an underwater adventure. The humid tropics of North Queensland are home to an incredible array of flora and fauna. Opt for a full-day tour, a reef cruise, or a visit to the Mossman Gorge. Alternatively, unwind in Port Douglas itself. Explore shops and cafes, go snorkelling, bask on the Australian beaches, and see why tourists are drawn to this charming locale.    Day 8: Willis Island (On-board Experience) 09:30 to 10:30 Established in 1921, the weather monitoring station is home to four weather observers and provides a cyclone early warning service for Queensland. This tiny island, located 450 kilometres east of Cairns, is home to fascinating wildlife, as well as a manned Australian Bureau of Meteorology weather monitoring station. While the cruise does not include a stop at Willis Island; you can catch glimpses of its natural beauty from the comfort of the ship. As you sail by, you'll have the opportunity to witness some amazing wildlife that calls this island home, including wedge-tailed shearwaters and sooty terns. Days 9 and 10: Fun Day at Sea No ports for two days! So you’ll have lots of time to explore the ship and its exciting entertainment, food, and activities! Or why not take it easy at the pool, enjoy a massage at the spa, and savour views across the waves. Day 11: Sydney - Arrive at 06:30 Arriving back into Sydney aboard Carnival Splendor™, you’ll be surrounded by the iconic Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House - the perfect backdrop for your final photos afloat before you head to the airport for your flight to Perth.   Days 14 to 18 – Perth – Pensione Hotel Perth A four-night stay in Perth allows you to experience both the vibrant city and its natural surroundings. Start by exploring the impressive Kings Park for panoramic views of the skyline and Swan River, then visit the Perth Cultural Centre for museums and art galleries. Spend a day at Cottesloe Beach, known for its white sands and clear waters, and take a ferry to Rottnest Island to meet the world's happiest animal, the famous quokkas. On the last day, explore Fremantle's historic streets, vibrant markets, and maritime heritage before enjoying a sunset along the beautiful western coastline.
