Safari Arms "Matchmaster"????

  • Add to quote

Are these 1911's any good? I found some longslides and thought about it...Thanks for the input.....

Have you found some Oly Arms 1911's in stock somewhere? If so, pm me the info please.

Not so sure my friend but really want one.....Their website listed two dealers here in Mississippi so I have to do my homework now!! But really want one badddddddddddddddd

My grandpa has one back from the 90's he bought brand new..has both the 6" slide and 5" slide..I have put approx. 5k rounds through it and he has probably doubled that..it has never had an issue runs great.

You should really have a look at them.

I've now got 11 Safari Arms pistols ranging from the Cohort, Matchmaster, Black Widow, and GI. They are TREMENDOUS value for what you get. I carried my Matchmaster as my primary carry pistol for 20 years after I got it back from Metaloy for refinishing. It's now seen over 120k rounds, and their is not one scratch on it, no finish degredation at all. It's seen thousands upon thousands of concealed practice draws, practice time at various ranges, matches. I only retired her when along came a Kimber stainless Raptor that gave me offhand groupings of 2.19" using TZZ match grade ammo at 31ft. They are indeed still in circulation, or available for purchase directly from Olyarms. http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=9&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37 When I do find one at a gunshop or gunshow, no matter what, if the price isn't outragious, I'll buy it, no questions asked. The last one I purchase that I really love and cherish is their plain jane GI Model, which has a Matchmaster stainless frame, with a plain GI upper. Nice and tight, accurate as all get out, very light recoil due to the extra metal in the grip area, and dependable as a Rolex.

I always liked those.

Olympic/Safari can make the pistols with or without the finger ledge on the grip, or the squared trigger guard. The output has always been low, since they put a lot of hand work into them, so there aren't usually many in stores to handle. I happen to work at Olympic Arms, in the sales department, and will be happy to answer any questions I know the answers to.

are there MIM parts in either the newer or older matchmasters? if so which parts?

No MIM parts that I am aware of. They are machined from either bar stock or castings made by a shop that we control.

Is it possible to get one with the S&W style K Frame Rear Sight like were on the first ones? I guess in my older age I have a fondness for the older style 1911s'.

Here's one on GB I have never seen before; a Safari Arms "Reliable". http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=181215280

Wish it was a Matchmaster with the older K Frame style sights.

As I recall, the Reliable was made on tooling purchased from Randall after they closed shop. The left hand version, the Renegade, was also produced for a time. I don't know why production of these pistols stopped and hope someone can jump in here.

You simply can't go wrong with a Matchmaster, after this topic, I went and pulled out my "baby", the Matchmaster that served me for 20 years. With it's Metaloy finish, even after 20 years of concealed carry, gazillions of concealed draws, matches, practice time, cold weather, hot weather, salt water immersion, the finish is MINT BRAND NEW. Looking through that particular weapons logbook, I can say that in 20 years of service, and 121,759 rounds, it's had a total of 28 malfunctions, 17 of them attributed to faulty eastern block ammunition, 6 due to magazine issues, and 5 due to "limp wristing". As I stated earlier, when I find a Safari pistol on the shelf, she's MINE.

Man, how many guns do u own ? Are all them in your web site urs

A vision of TRUE BEAUTY, it can rival and or beat anything Playboy put's out. LOL, I can say that because if my wife caught me looking at playboy, playboy would be all I got. :bawling:

You can buy directly from Olympic Arms, maker of Safari Arms. Their pistols are now named Schuetzen Pistol Works. Richard Niemer is their pistol smith he is former Detonics http://www.olyarms.com/

They are every bit as good as the originals. I'm just sorry they decided to D/C the Safari G.I. Model.

Yup, I wish they still had them too. Things we pass up when we were young.

I've yet to run across any of the Western style Safari's, those are as rare as obtaining a Valtro. I did have one not long ago, but in moment of sheer lunacy, I traded it for a Desert Eagle .44 in Metaloy satin nickle finish.

Aptamers are small oligonucleotides that are capable of binding specifically to a target, with impressive potential for analysis, diagnostics, and therapeutics applications. Aptamers are isolated from large nucleic acid combinatorial libraries using an iterative selection process called SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by EXponential enrichment). Since being implemented 30 years ago, the SELEX protocol has undergone many modifications and improvements, but it remains a laborious, time-consuming, and costly method, and the results are not always successful. Each step in the aptamer selection protocol can influence its results. This review discusses key technical points of the SELEX procedure and their influence on the outcome of aptamer selection.

Keywords: PCR amplification; SELEX; aptamer; next generation sequencing; nucleic acid library; sequencing; ssDNA regeneration.

Scrub it with a toothbrush with a little CLP on it. Wipe off any excess oil. After the "CLP" has had a chance to loosen the deposits in the bore, run a dry patch through the barrel, use a bore brush if necessary, and follow it with a patch soaked in CLP, followed by another dry patch.

They are Commander sized but a tad heavier. The Safari Arms line is such a treasure. I have: Matchmaster---Full Sized. Cohort---Commander. Black Widow---Officers sized. Safari GI---Budget model. Matchmaster frame under a GI slide. I've got 11 alone and I've found them to be just as dependable and accurate as the most expensive of 1911's.

  6. Early Safari Arms--MS Safari Arms, Pre Olympic Arms?

My M-S Safari "Enforcer" model had a cast frame. You could see imperfections / pinholes in its surface. In all honesty it was pure junk. The recoil spring assembly was a joke. I got rid of that one but kept my Olympic / Safari Arms Cohort and Matchmaster models. Olympic Arms did a lot better in the quality control department IMHO.
