Traveling with jewelry can be risky business, so it’s important to pack your accessories thoughtfully. Sure, you can always use Ziploc baggies and tissue paper, but the easiest and safest way to keep your jewelry safe is by using a handy travel-size jewelry case.

Since travel jewelry cases come in all different shapes and sizes, we tried 25 options from trusted luggage and jewelry brands. After loading the cases up with jewelry, we tossed, dropped, and shook them to see how safe the jewelry would be in situations like traveling where rough handling can be expected. From testing, we selected the winning jewelry cases that will keep your jewelry safe and organized whether you’re a jewelry minimalist or maximalist.

Best Overall: Cuyana Travel Jewelry Case

Best budget: bagsmart jewelry organizer bag.

  • Best Roll-Up: Bagsmart Peri Folding Jewelry Organizer

Best Personalization: Mark & Graham Small Travel Jewelry Case

Best large capacity: kendra scott medium travel jewelry case, best for long trips: calpak jewelry case, best compact: vee & co. small travel jewelry case.

  • Best for Everyday Use: Levenger Mini Jewelry Organizer

Best Sustainable: Paravel Jewelry Case

The small, oval container is the perfect size for a weekend getaway.

It could use a few more organizational features.

Cuyana’s oval-shaped case is deceptively spacious in comparison to its smaller design. Perfect for minimalist jewelry wearers, the interior has plenty of room and designated spots for several rings and earrings, but there aren’t specific latches for necklaces or bracelets. The two slip pockets on each side of the case can hold bigger or longer pieces of jewelry, but they run the risk of getting tangled without a latch so we wish the organization was a bit better. Made with genuine leather, the case has a protective exterior with a soft suede interior to further guard the jewelry against scratching or other damage. Throughout six months of tests, we loved this case for weekend getaways and longer trips alike and found it to be the perfect size to toss in a backpack or personal item.

Travel + Leisure / Joy Kim

The bag is spacious yet compact and comes with a handle to carry it easily.

The quality feels a bit lower than other cases we tried.

Designed similarly to a toiletry bag, we love that this wallet-friendly jewelry case comes with a top handle to transport it to and from a suitcase with ease. The compact bag is also a great deal considering how much jewelry it can hold while still being easy to pack. The polyester material is protective and flexible so the bag can pack down to a smaller size depending on how much jewelry is inside. The interior has an earring panel, ring bands, necklace clips, and various zippered pockets for storing all of the jewelry you want to pack for a trip. While we didn’t notice any issues with quality during testing, the materials feel less durable than other pricier cases we tried. We tossed the packed jewelry case around a bit during our tests and the items remained perfectly safe without any tangling or damage. Even after traveling with the case on seven flights, trains, and throughout more than four roadtrips during our six months of tests, nothing became tangled and the case is proving to be durable and sturdy.

Best Roll-up: Bagsmart Peri Folding Jewelry Organizer

The compartments roll out, which makes it easier to pack jewelry.

It was slightly difficult to put the earrings on the designated card.

Bagsmart impressed us a second time with their roll-up jewelry organizer, which was the easiest bag to pack with jewelry during testing. After six months of use, we love that it can fit a lot of jewelry and has compartments big enough for even the biggest hoops and other dramatic earrings. The envelope-style case unrolls and lies flat so you can easily see all of the pockets, latches, and hooks for storing every piece of jewelry you could ever need for traveling thanks to the larger capacity. We had some slight difficulty getting earrings into the holes in the earring card, but it was just a minor inconvenience, and there are plenty of other spots to place hoops and studs. Made with cotton fabric, the case may feel a bit flimsy, but is soft and protective, and it’s very compact since it can lie fairly flat even after it’s packed with jewelry.

The Details: Cotton | 9.06 x 6.3 x 5.75 inches

Mark & Graham

It comes in 28 color and pattern options — plus it's monogrammable.

After six months of using the case, we wish it had more space for necklaces, bracelets, and larger earrings.

Looking for the perfect gift for a traveler? You can monogram this Mark & Graham jewelry case with up to three letters for a personalized touch that makes the gift all the more thoughtful. The square-shaped case has a sturdy exterior that feels like it will hold up perfectly in a packed carry-on and the pebbled vegan leather gives the box a sophisticated look while sitting on a desk or dresser. The interior is split into two sections with a mirror divider to separate the box, which makes it slightly difficult to fit larger jewelry pieces like a watch or chunky necklace, but after six months of testing, we did like that the separate sections help you access all your items without spilling everything out. We also love that there are tons of ring pillow slots so if you’re a big ring wearer, this jewelry case is an excellent option. In addition, there are several necklace or earring latches as well as a slip pocket and sections for bracelets or broaches.

The Details: Vegan leather, linen | 4.5 x 4.5 x 2.25 inches

Kendra Scott

The large size of this jewelry box makes it useful for heavy packers or at-home use.

It doesn’t have any necklace hooks.

Jewelry maximalists will appreciate the bigger size of Kendra Scott’s jewelry case. It looks like a traditional jewelry box that sits on a dresser, but it’s also very portable thanks to its lightweight materials and design. The interior has four large compartments to easily drop in bracelets, necklaces, or watches without any hassle and there are over 10 ring pillow slots for rings or earrings. To keep all the packed jewelry safe, the case comes with a divider to prevent items from jostling around on the go. The case also comes with a small matching zippered pouch that you can keep in the box or remove for extra storage. We found this separate pouch to be perfect for use on shorter trips when you may not need to bring the full case. While we wish the box had a few more organizational features like necklace hooks or earring holes, the jewelry remained perfectly intact after we shook it around, so we’re confident that the box keeps items safely tucked away. Plus, after six months of use, the stylish case still looks new and is a great option for home storage, too.

The Details: Polyurethane, polyester | 8 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches

After six months of traveling with this case, not one necklace became tangled thanks to the plentiful hooks.

We wish it had more storage options for studs.

If you’re embarking on an international trip that includes a checked bag, we recommend this jewelry case from Calpak to weather the journey. Since the rectangular jewelry case is bigger, it can easily store enough jewelry for several weeks of traveling. The structured design makes it ultra-durable and our favorite part is that it has a built-in drawstring bag that does an excellent job of keeping bracelets, watches, or earrings safely secured in the bottom section of the jewelry case. The top part has a variety of necklace latches and a ring holder for even more security. When we rigorously shook the container, none of the jewelry budged from its original spots, so we feel confident that this case will protect your valuables in a checked bag with no issues.

The Details: Faux leather, faux suede | 7 x 5 x 2.5 inches

The square-shaped box is small enough to easily fit in a carry-on or backpack.

The jewelry might scratch up the mirror on the divider.

The lower price and superior functionality make this petite jewelry case an excellent option for anyone looking for a place to store their accessories. It’s smaller than a lot of the options we tested, so we think it’s ideal for travelers needing to save space in a backpack or suitcase. Despite its compact stature, this jewelry box can fit tons of jewelry from studs to a leather watch. It’s intuitive to pack the case with rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and more since there are designated latches, slots, and compartments for virtually everything. When we shook the case, all of the jewelry remained packed away in its original spot without any damage occurring. The box has a divider with a mirror on one side and our only worry is that the mirror could get scratched by the metals or vice-versa, so you may want to put a small piece of fabric between the mirror just in case.

The Details: PU vegan leather | 3.94 x 3.94 x 1.97 inches

Best for Everyday Use: Levenger Carrie Mini Jewelry Organizer

The small design makes it easy to store the case in a purse.

It can’t fit large jewelry pieces.

Jewelry minimalists will love this tiny jewelry case for keeping track of just a few pieces of jewelry while on the go. After six months of use, we love that this Levenger mini jewelry case has latches, hooks, and pockets to protect and organize rings, bracelets, and necklaces. It is on the small side with minimum space for studs, but light packers will appreciate the hard, durable exterior that still looks new after six months. The genuine leather exterior and suede interior feels luxurious and looks elegant, so this also makes a great jewelry case for newlyweds going on a honeymoon . We especially love the tiny zippered pocket in the middle of the case for storing extra small jewelry items like studs or stacking rings.

The Details: Leather, microsuede | 4.25  x 4.5 x 1 inches

All of the materials used to make this case are recycled.

The organizational features could be better and, after six months of use, we think it's a bit too large to pack in a carry-on.

Paravel is one of our favorite luggage brands , so we’re pleased to report that its jewelry case impressed us, too. The circular case is made entirely of recycled materials from post-consumer plastic water bottles and upcycled zippers to create an eco-friendly accessory for travel. Besides the sustainability factor, the case comes with a large drawstring pouch that makes it easy to drop in larger pieces of jewelry like bracelets or watches. The top flap of the case has a ring holder and earring post to store smaller pieces of jewelry, but we wish there were a few more organization features like necklace latches or zippered pockets. However, we love the vintage-style design and, like most Paravel bags, you can monogram the case with initials for a special touch.

The Details: Recycled canvas, vegan leather | 5.6 x 3.6 inches

Other Travel Jewelry Cases We Liked

The jewelry cases below get an honorable mention since they still performed well in testing, but fell slightly short compared to our top performers.

Benevolence Plush Velvet Travel Jewelry Box Organizer : This jewelry box can fit a ton of items, but you’ll want to make sure everything is secure before traveling since we noticed most of the jewelry became dislodged during testing.

Mejuri Travel Case : The case looks elegant and sleek on the outside, but the interior doesn’t offer much in the organizational department, so it’s best for minimalist travelers.

After thoroughly researching jewelry cases from trusted brands, we selected 25 options to first test out in our New York City lab. We packed each case with every type of jewelry you can think of, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, watches, and more to get a feel for the usefulness of the organization features. Then, we tossed, dropped, and shook the cases (think Kourtney Kardashian level of salad bowl shaking) to see if the jewelry remained safely secured in place or if the pieces moved around. We also examined the cases for any scuffing or damage.

With our lab testing portion complete, we then rated the jewelry cases based on ease of use, capacity, design, and quality to determine the winners. We continued to test the jewelry cases for an additional six months so we could see how each one performed while traveling in a more natural setting after the lab testing, and then added those insights.

Tips for Buying a Jewelry Case

Buy the right size case for your needs.

First, you’ll want to think about how much jewelry you travel with to determine the best size for your needs. For those who travel with bigger pieces of jewelry like watches or chunky necklaces, consider getting a more structured case with large compartments. Delicate or minimalist jewelry will pack better in an envelope or binder style of jewelry case. And if your jewelry collection consists of just a few pieces, opt for a mini jewelry case to save space in your luggage.

Consider organization

Most jewelry cases come with latches, hooks, pockets, and pillows to hold pretty much any piece of jewelry you can think of. Like other types of travel organizers , some jewelry cases are more barebones than others, so you’ll want to buy a case according to your organization preferences or based on the type of jewelry you travel most with. If most of your jewelry consists of earrings, be sure to get a box that has pockets and hole cards with spots for hoops, studs, and dangling earrings.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best way to keep your jewelry safe and organized is to use a jewelry case. The best thing about travel jewelry cases is that they often come with designated slots for all types of accessories to make packing intuitive and quick. If you want to add an extra layer of protection, you can always place tissue or fabric between your jewelry to prevent the pieces from rubbing against one another in transit.

Once your jewelry is packed into the case, we recommend placing the jewelry case between soft clothing for safekeeping or in a personal item in case you have to gate-check your bag when flying. It can be risky to place a jewelry case in a checked bag since you may run the risk of the bag getting lost, but it depends on your comfort level for flying with potentially valuable items.

Rae Liu, co-founder of Leatherology , agrees. “Investing in a jewelry organizer is about more than just storage; it’s about preserving the pieces that mark the milestones of your life. Organizers help ensure that each piece of jewelry retains its beauty, is ready to wear, and easy to find.”

As someone who’s panicked more than once about misplacing an heirloom ring, I feel seen by this topic. While it’s especially poignant for fine jewelry collectors, costume pieces can have just as much sentimental value. “The time and effort we invest in building a jewelry collection justifies the need for a quality travel jewelry organizer,” says Kathleen Weber, Lesher’s colleague as head design manager at Mark & Graham. Liu even points out that she thinks having a case helps remind her to take especially good care of her collection. To all you ladies who store tangled necklaces in plastic sandwich bags, consider the bar raised.

Armed with advice from Lesher, Weber, and Liu, I chose the best travel jewelry cases based on their features, construction, and customer reviews; shop them all below.

I just went to the Bahamas and Florida and packed all my fun jewelry plus some medication and still had a couple empty bags. Very well made. Zipper is not cheap. Plastic/vinyl on bags is very thick. EXCELLENT!”

Expert Tips for Buying a Travel Jewelry Case

linebreak

  • There are two things that Lesher says matter most: quality and design. “When you buy something that is built to last, you won’t need to purchase a new one every couple of years,” she says. “The materials of the organizer are important for both beauty and durability.” Liu echoes the importance of this. “A soft lining is also important to prevent scratches; we use microsuede on ours,” she adds. “And, of course, a secure closure, especially for any kind of travel case.”
  • Lesher recommends looking for organizers with secure compartments, including the all-important feature that keeps your necklaces untangled. A well-made zipper is also crucial, she notes.
  • “You’ll want to focus on an organizer with a hard case or well-padded exterior that will provide crush support while traveling in your carry-on or weekender bags ,” says Weber.
  • Size matters, too. You might want enough room for bangles or collar necklaces, but Weber recommends avoiding any case that wouldn’t fit in carry-on luggage. “ Multiple compartments are crucial for accommodating various jewelry sizes and types,” says Liu.

Take Our Word for It

What is real simple selects.

Real Simple / Joy Kim

Stop tossing your favorite jewelry into a bag when you embark on a trip—it can quickly become tangled and scratched, damaging your most delicate pieces. A travel jewelry case solves this problem, offering a secure and stylish way to store your necklaces , earrings, and rings on the go.

When it comes to buying a jewelry case for travel, look for well-constructed pieces that “have several compartments to keep the pieces from touching each other,” says Bennett Beutel , the product lead at Tiffany & Co. He adds that by separating the pieces, you can limit any damage that may occur from them bumping into each other.

To find the best travel jewelry cases to suit every type of trip and traveler, we tested 25 options ranging in price and size and filled them with jewelry. We evaluated how easy they were to pack, how well they kept pieces in place, any notable organizational features, and their capacity. Whether you need to stash a few dainty necklaces or protect larger statement pieces, these cases will keep your jewelry in prime condition.

Best Overall Travel Jewelry Case

Mark & graham small travel jewelry case.

Mark & Graham

  • Ease of Use 5 /5
  • Capacity 5 /5
  • Design 5 /5
  • Performance 4.5 /5
  • Value 4.5 /5

This jewelry case can be personalized and has a built-in mirror to use on the go.

We wish the dividers in the main compartment were removable to allow for larger pieces.

This small square case is available in a range of classic and vibrant shades, which you can monogram to add a personal touch (whether for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a jewelry-loving jet setter). It has a zip-around opening to glimpse all your pieces at once. Behind the handy built-in mirror, there are three hooks for necklaces or larger pieces—just note that it doesn’t keep them very secure.

The main compartment is ideal for ring lovers, with space to hold seven rings in the center. We wish the surrounding small compartments had adjustable dividers to fit more of our favorite pieces. The case is sturdy and maintained its shape when we jostled it around, so we feel confident that it would protect our pieces even if it got squished in our suitcase.

Dimensions : 4.5 x 4.5 x 2.25 inches | Storage Compartments : 6 | Material : Vegan pebbled leather, linen

Best Budget Travel Jewelry Case

Bagsmart jewelry organizer bag.

  • Performance 5 /5

It has a convenient carrying handle and ample organizational features.

The panel for earrings is flimsy and can only accommodate hoops along the edges.

At almost 10 inches long, this jewelry case is impressively roomy, with plenty of space for your go-to pieces. It features five compartments: a ring band that snaps on and off, a panel for earrings, five straps to secure necklaces, a zippered pouch for storage, and a side zippered pocket.

For all of its convenient features, the handle was our favorite—we loved that we could carry it like a purse or toss it into our carry-on luggage . This case is lightweight and compact even when filled beyond the recommended capacity. While we struggled a bit with the earring panel, as the holes are very close together and can only accommodate hoops at the edges, the hardware was overall durable.

Dimensions : 6.1 x 9.8 x 1.9 inches | Weight : 0.55 pounds | Storage Compartments : 5 | Material : Polyester

Best Large Travel Jewelry Case

Kendra scott medium travel jewelry case.

Kendra Scott

It’s spacious and easy to see all of your pieces at a glance.

There aren’t any hooks to hang necklaces from.

Crafted from high-quality PU leather, this elegant case features a removable zippered pouch and several sturdy and cushioned compartments to separate your jewelry, including a central section where you can safely secure rings and earrings. It’s simple and satisfying to pack—just drop your pieces into one of the compartments.

The clutch-like rectangular shape makes this a bit bulky for a carry-on or weekender bag, but it’s a perfect companion for checked luggage. Since it’s easy to see your pieces on display once you open them, we like this for at-home storage, too. Our only gripe is that there isn’t dedicated necklace storage, but the compartments are large enough to store necklaces in individual pouches.

Dimensions : 8 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches | Storage Compartments : 6 | Material : PU leather, polyester

Best Small Travel Jewelry Case

Vee & co. small travel jewelry case.

Despite its compact size, this case has a section to store every type of jewelry.

The included display mirror doesn't feel durable.

Travelers will love this case for its extensive organizational compartments, which give every piece its place to minimize scratching and tangling. We like the six plush ring pillows, three necklace hooks, and a built-in earring panel that borders the included mirror, but our favorite feature is the two removable dividers that you can adjust to accommodate delicate or chunky jewelry. The mirror is another convenient addition to this compact case, allowing you to try on different pieces or do your makeup—however, it seems less durable than the rest of the case.

Dimensions : 3.9 x 3.9 x 1.9 inches | Weight : 0.37 pounds | Storage Compartments : 6 | Material : Vegan leather, velvet

Best Round Travel Jewelry Case

Cuyana travel jewelry case.

The detachable earrings bar is perfect for dangling or hoop earrings.

There aren’t any individual hoops for necklaces, and storing them on the provided detachable bar can lead to tangles.

Toss this pretty, petite pouch into your bag or jacket pocket for your next adventure, whether you're road-tripping or hopping on an international flight. It’s palm-sized and convenient to carry thanks to its ergonomic design, and the soft suede interior will keep your pieces protected on the go.

While there are only a few compartments—two small pouches, plus a detachable bar to store your favorite earrings and another for rings or necklaces—we found we could fit several pairs of earrings, a few necklaces, and nine (yes, nine!) rings, among other small pieces of jewelry. Light packers will love that this space-saving pick weighs less than half a pound and allows you to customize the design, as you can remove the earring and ring bar to free up space for larger pieces.

Dimensions : 1.25 x 5 x 3.5 inches | Weight : 0.33 pounds | Storage Compartments : 4 | Material : Leather, suede

Best Travel Jewelry Case for Maximalists

Calpak jewelry case.

  • Ease of Use 4.5 /5

The generously-sized drawstring offers enough space to store larger pieces, plus it has mini pockets on the inside.

It’s bulky and may be better suited to longer trips than weekend getaways.

Famous for its reliable, attractive luggage and travel accessories, Calpak is a go-to brand for frequent flyers—and this jewelry case is no exception. Jewelry lovers will rejoice at the sight of the drawstring pouch, which features ample space for statement bracelets, necklaces, chunky earrings, or watches. We love that it also has small pockets folded in, which helps to reduce any possible scratching and to maximize the space.

This large case has enough room to hold several rings on the snap-off ring bar and four necklaces on the detachable hooks—there's even a sturdy earring card ideal for studs and small hoops. Those who don't want to leave their favorite eye-catching pieces at home will appreciate carrying jewelry in this durable, faux-leather case.

Dimensions : 7 x 5 x 2.5 inches | Weight : 0.9 pounds | Storage Compartments : 6 | Material : PU leather, polyester, ABS

Best Travel Jewelry Case for Minimalists

Levenger mini jewelry organizer.

  • Capacity 4.5 /5

This compact pick has necklace hooks, an earring and ring bar, and a zippered pouch, making it perfect for just the essentials.

The earring bar isn’t spaced far enough apart for wider studs.

Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, this ultra-lightweight and dainty case is ideal for anyone looking to keep a few favorite pieces from tangling or scratching without adding any bulk to their compact carry-on . Perfect for short trips or minimalists, this mini organizer has two hooks and a catchall pouch for necklaces, a small zippered pouch for bracelets or large earrings, a tiny removable ring bar, and a detachable earring bar that can fit two pairs of smaller earrings.

While we wish the stud holes were farther apart (you can only fit dainty studs or one pair of chunkier earrings), we could store larger hoops in the pouch. It comes in five colorful styles, and we found the leather exterior soft and scratch-resistant, while the suede interior helped protect our pieces.

Dimensions : 4.25 x 1 x 4.5 inches | Weight : 0.25 pounds | Storage Compartments : 3 | Material : Pebbled leather, microsuede

The Mark & Graham Small Travel Jewelry Case is our top pick thanks to its stylish and sturdy construction, handy mirror, and how well it kept our jewelry secure when we jostled it around during testing. If you're shopping on a budget, opt for the Bagsmart Jewelry Organizer Bag , which has five compartments for all your favorite pieces.

We tested 25 portable jewelry cases for this article, packing up each piece with the same array of jewelry—three necklaces, four earrings, three rings, two bracelets, and one watch—noting if it all fit or if we could comfortably add in even more pieces.

Next, we tested for durability and protective features by vigorously shaking the cases and throwing them up in the air and onto the ground, checking to see how securely they kept our pieces in place and whether anything became broken or tangled in the process.

Finally, we evaluated how easy it was to load pieces into the case or remove them, particularly regarding detachable ring rods and earring posters. The jewelry cases that scored the highest across our categories—ease of use, capacity, design, performance, and overall value—earned a spot on this list.

How to Shop for a Travel Jewelry Case Like a Pro

Depending on the type of jewelry you wear and the trips you expect to take, compare different case types to find the best pick for you. For short weekend trips, a small palm-sized piece should suffice. But if you're spending weeks abroad, you may need a large-capacity jewelry travel case with more organizational features.

If you have a lot of jewelry or prefer bigger pieces, opt for a case with plenty of compartments. For instance, those who frequently wear hoops might find that a small earring placard designed for studs won’t suffice—you’ll want ample pouches or zippered pockets that could hold your go-to earrings.

If you tend to travel with just the essentials—maybe a few dainty rings, thin necklaces, and small stud or hoop earrings—then a smaller case like the Levenger Carrie Mini Jewelry Organizer will do the trick. For statement jewelry lovers, a larger case like the Kendra Scott Medium Travel Jewelry Case can properly store your hefty pieces.

Storage Compartments

The best jewelry travel cases “have several compartments to keep the pieces from touching each other and to limit as much scratching as possible,” says Beutel. There are several compartment types too, including pockets, pouches, necklace hooks, ring pillows, and more. If you wear a lot of rings, consider a ring pillow or ring bar—the former allows you to remove them individually, while the latter requires you to remove the bar and the rings on it to select the one you want.

Beutel recommends cases with a hearty, protective exterior—think leather or PU leather—which will keep your jewelry safe in your bag even if it gets tossed around at baggage claim. For the interior, he prefers suede lining, as it’s non-abrasive and prevents scratching or dulling.

More Jewelry Cases for Travel to Consider

Mejuri Travel Case : Mejuri is best known for its dainty, everyday jewelry—and that’s what this tiny, trendy case is designed for. It’s great for minimalists and we love the streamlined design, but the price tag seemed too high for how little space it offers (there’s only room for four necklaces, three pairs of studs, and a few slim rings).

Bagsmart Jewelry Organizer Roll : This budget-friendly soft-sided case boasts a range of compartments to keep jewelry organized and can accommodate quite a range of pieces, but inherently offers less protection than a sturdy leather case. The inner material is also far less soft than the suede lining.

Questions You Might Ask

Is it ok to store all your jewelry together when traveling.

“From an organizational perspective, it’s definitely a good idea to have all your jewelry in the same place,” says Beutel, however, “every piece should be separated to a certain degree to avoid any potential scratching.”

Look for cases with hooks for necklaces, pillows or rods for rings, and small compartments or pouches for other large pieces to ensure everything has a designated place.

Can you use a jewelry travel case for everyday storage?

At home, keeping your pieces in their original packaging is preferred. “In an ideal world, one would pack their pieces in the original cases, but of course, that’s normally tough to do traveling,” Beutel says.

However, many travel cases can store your essential pieces at home and on the go, reducing the need to pack and unpack between trips. For extensive jewelry collections or statement pieces, consider a larger storage option designed for everyday use, which can typically accommodate and display more jewelry.

What are some alternatives to travel jewelry cases?

If you can't get your hands on a travel jewelry case before your trip, Beutel suggests rolling your jewelry in a soft cloth. “Nothing abrasive like wool or canvas," he says. "A hand towel or a shirt works wonders.” While these won’t provide as much protection for your pieces as a proper case, they can help prevent your pieces from getting damaged while in transit.

This article was written by Sophie Dodd , a contributing writer for Real Simple who covers travel, lifestyle, and home goods. To write this article, she evaluated our test results, which reflected our experiences with the jewelry cases after packing them with a range of pieces, tossing them around, and exploring how easy or tedious it was to put in and take out different pieces. She also spoke with Bennett Beutel , a product lead at Tiffany’s Jewelry Design and Innovation Workshop , about what to look for when shopping for travel jewelry cases and how to protect your pieces on the go.

Why Trust Byrdie

Byrdie / Kristin Kempa

The last thing anyone wants to do while getting ready (especially on vacation) is spending time untangling a necklace . If you don’t have a well-organized travel jewelry case, chances are you find yourself in this situation more often than not. Since jewelry is an important part of a travel capsule wardrobe , it's just as important to invest in a quality jewelry case that'll keep your precious pieces protected and organized.

We put more than two dozen to the test to find the best option for you, evaluating each one based on its design, capacity, ease of use, performance, and value. We filled them up with a variety of jewelry, shook them around to see how the contents held up and tested what’s it like to use them. From affordable and compact options to personalized picks and more, we’re rounding up the travel jewelry cases that impressed us the most, and therefore, we believe are worth your money.

Best Overall

Calpak jewelry case.

Material: Faux leather and faux suede | Dimensions: 7" x 5" x 2.5" | Color Options: Black, Caramel + more

If minimalism is not your M.O. when it comes to jewelry, this travel case is for you. It comes with tons of storage options—from necklace hooks and a 28-hole earring card to a ring rod and a large pouch lined with pockets. You can take multiple pieces of each jewelry type with you, and we love that the large drawstring bag attached to the case is lined with pockets for extra storage and organization. We found that it was easy to pack and unpack, and everything remained in place when we shook it around. Though we wish it was a bit slimmer for more compact and lightweight packing, the design is pleasing and functional, and it’s not overly heavy. An added bonus is that it comes in neutral shades and limited-edition pops of color.

Best for Short Trips

Cuyana travel jewelry case.

Material: Italian pebbled leather and suede | Dimensions: H 1.25" x W 5" x D 3.5" | Color Options: Black, Soft Rose + more

When we first got our hands on it, we didn’t imagine that such a small case would be all that useful—but we were wrong. The compact design isn’t just chic and adorable, but it’s also quite functional for storing a few pieces of jewelry for a quick trip. It has detachable ring and earring holders (which makes putting jewels in and taking them out fast and easy), as well as two pockets to hold bracelets or other pieces. The ring rod can also be used to hang necklaces, though we do wish it provided necklace storage that was a bit better at keeping them in place. Overall, it’s compact and well-designed, and the leather and suede materials feel smooth and durable.

Best for Everyday Pieces

Levenger mini jewelry organizer.

Material: Pebbled leather | Dimensions: 4 ¼" W x 1" D x 4 ½" H | Color Options: Grape, Chilli Pepper + more

If you’re someone that doesn’t stray from your go-to jewelry pieces, there’s no need to add bulk to your bag by getting a large jewelry case. This one is perfect for minimalists because it’s ultra-compact. But don’t let the tiny design fool you, it provides excellent organization and protection for your jewelry.

It has removable panels for earrings and rings that feature secure snaps, snap hooks to prevent necklaces from getting tangled, an open pouch for chunkier pieces, and a zipper pouch. It’s very simple to pack and grab your pieces out of it on the go, and we were impressed by how well everything stayed in place. It’s also made with pebbled leather which resists scratches and scuffs, and the mini wallet-like design is easy to pop into your purse or even your makeup bag .

Best Budget

Bagsmart jewelry organizer bag.

Material: Polyester | Dimensions: 9.8'' L x 6.1'' W x 1.9'' H | Color Options: Lake Blue, Black + more

Amazon has tons of travel and storage items, and this travel jewelry case is a great one for anyone on the hunt for an affordable and accessible option. It’s spacious without being too clunky or heavy, and it features different storage options. It has snap hooks to keep necklaces straight, ring rods, an earring card, and plenty of pockets. It kept everything organized and in place during our test, and while it doesn’t feel the most durable or extravagant as others we tested, the functionality and price point make it easy for us to recommend.

Best Personalized

Mark & graham small travel jewelry case foil debossed.

Mark & Graham

Material: Pebbled vegan leather | Dimensions: 4.5" W x 4.5 D" x 2.25" H | Color Options: Black, Orchid + more

This option is best for short trips or minimalists, and we think it’s a fantastic gifting option for birthdays, bridesmaids, or that friend that seems to always be on another trip. It can be customized with a name or monogram in a few different fonts and in gold or silver lettering. The case also comes in tons of colors—everything from black and caramel to vibrant shades of orange and green.

As for the design itself, we like how compact it is while still offering various storage options. It has cushioned rows to store earrings, small sections for rings, and hooks for necklaces. It’s definitely better for storing small pieces like rings and earrings, though you can fit one or two bracelets and necklaces in it. We also appreciate that it has a built-in divider with a mirror and the materials feel durable.

Kendra Scott Medium Travel Jewelry Case

Kendra Scott

Material: Polyurethane, 100% polyester Lining | Dimensions: 8"L x 5.5"D x 2.5"H | Color Options: Lilac, Taupe + more

Another option for those planning on traveling with a lot of jewelry, this one from Kendra Scott is great for storing earrings, rings, bracelets, and chunky necklaces that aren’t prone to tangling. We wish it had better storage to keep necklaces from knotting up, but we do love how much storage there is for everything else. There are tons of rows to place earrings, and the separate compartments at the bottom are nice for keeping medium and large pieces organized. We also appreciate that it comes with a removable pouch and the design is sturdy and easy to pack and unpack. It’s just a bit heavy for traveling with (especially for storing in carry-on luggage), but it’s a nice option if you have a lot of jewelry and accessories to take with you. It’s also fitting if you want a case to organize your jewelry at home—the design is simple and would look nice on your dresser.

  • Byrdie/Leticia Almeida

Vee & Co. Small Travel Jewelry Case

Material: Vegan leather | Dimensions: 3.94" D x 3.94" W x 1.97" H | Color Options: Blue, White + more

If you’re looking for an affordable and compact travel jewelry case that will keep your collection super organized, we highly recommend checking out this one. Though it’s small, it’s well-designed to fit earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets—they all have a designated place. We do appreciate that the earring card features a mirror in the center which is convenient to have on hand while traveling. We had no issues with the jewelry moving around during our shake test, and we felt that it was intuitive to pack and easy to get the pieces out when needed.

What to Look for in a Travel Jewelry Case

  • Organizational features: All travel jewelry cases have some storage organizational features, but some are far better than others. The right one for you will largely depend on what type of jewelry you wear and how much you’ll be taking with you, but generally, it’s wise to look for things like ring rods, earring cards, and necklace hooks.
  • Size: Consider the size of a jewelry case wisely—especially when it’s for travel. You’ll want something that can fit everything you want to bring, but you’ll want to avoid options that are unnecessarily bulky or heavy.

This answer depends on what type of jewelry you’re traveling with, but in general, it’s wise to secure each piece in a travel case rather than throwing it all in a loose bag or compartment which will likely lead to damage and tangles. For necklaces specifically which are prone to knotting, look for a travel case that has snap hooks to keep them straight.

It’s always wise to pack your jewelry in your travel tote or carry-on luggage that way you can ensure you know where it is at all times—especially if it’s expensive or sentimental. If you pack it in your checked bag, you take the rise that the airline loses your bag along with the jewelry inside.

The Bagsmart Jewelry Organizer Bag won our top pick because it accomplishes the difficult task of keeping your accessories secure and intact while traveling in one no-fuss organizer. Two layers of elastics keep your necklaces tangle-free, while the inner zippered pouch holds more valuable pieces that may be more prone to scratching (like a watch).

We also appreciated how well the organizer made it easy to access pieces. We appreciate the way the bag completely opens flat like a book to reveal all the contents. It's easy to organize because you can see all the different compartments at once. It's also a great daily storage option for those pressed for space. Organizing your jewelry in this bag with easy pull-out is excellent whether traveling or just getting ready for a normal day. It even features a convenient handle so it's easy to tote around. The one area where the bag lacks is storage for hoop earrings, but in every other area, we think this bag excels.

Size: 9.8 x 6.1 x 1.9 inches | Colors: 10 | Material: Polyester

How It's Held Up

After seven flights and four car trips during the past six months, this bag is still performing as well as the first day we tried it. We appreciate its durability and ability to hold a lot of jewelry. Because of its spaciousness, versatility, and how well it protects our jewelry, we also use this bag for extra storage at home.

Best Budget

Teamoy jewelry travel case.

  • Ease of Use 4.5 /5
  • Capacity 4 /5
  • Design 4.5 /5
  • Performance 3.5 /5

The soft-shell case is malleable and easy to pack.

The smaller size makes it ideal for shorter trips.

It's easy to access compartments thanks to the all-around zipper closure.

The ring sleeve only opens on one side.

The Teamoy Small Jewelry Travel Case comes with a lot of perks: multiple features for different pieces of jewelry, an interior pouch, and a compact size that's easy to tote around. The case is ideal for sticking into a suitcase, carry-on, weekender, or tote. While compact in size, we found that this case has plenty of capacity to store enough jewelry for a trip of a few weeks or even a month, and can easily be transported, even in a piece of small luggage or a handbag. It's also soft and malleable, so it's easy to pack, and the all-around zipper closure makes it easy to access everything you need.

Keep in mind that the ring sleeve only opens on one side, which means you'll have to remove each ring to get to the one you want (though this makes for more security as there aren't two sides for the rings to potentially slip out of).

Size: 6.5 x 4.5 x 1.5 inches | Colors: 5 | Material: Cotton

Best for Weekend Trips

Benevolence plush velvet travel jewelry box organizer.

  • Ease of Use 4 /5
  • Design 4 /5
  • Performance 4 /5

It has a built-in mirror that makes putting jewelry on easier.

It comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth.

There are adjustable dividers to accommodate different-sized pieces.

The dividers shuffled out of place when the bag was shaken.

The Benevolence Plush Velvet Travel Jewelry Box Organizer is a convenient jewelry case that works well for weekend traveling. We were able to fit three necklaces, one chunky bracelet, two hoop earring pairs, two pairs of stud earrings, and four rings, all of which were easily accessible. The inner compartments are thoughtfully positioned, and the mirrored divider wall fits nicely inside the box frame. Unlike other organizers, this has slits for rings versus a ring bar (which requires you to take every ring out to get to the one you want). Plus, the felt wall dividers are adjustable, meaning they'll be able to accommodate different-sized items (though they did shuffle around after the box was shaken).

It also comes with a microfiber jewelry cleaning cloth, which is a nice addition for on-the-go maintenance. This jewelry organizer comes in nine colors — from red to navy — and has a soft velvet exterior that gives it a higher-end look (impressive, considering its reasonable price tag). Overall, this is great for those seeking to travel with a few core pieces of jewelry.

Size: 3.75 x 3.75 inches | Colors: 9 | Material: Velvet

During the past six months, this case has remained in the same condition as the day we got it. The fabric is in good condition and the zipper is working smoothly. It fits a lot of jewelry for its size, and the size and shape make it easy to pack in any bag. We love that we can see all of the jewelry items at once, and except for a few items being tossed during travel, everything remains organized.

Best Roll-Up

Vlando viaggio small jewelry case.

It includes wide compartments that are good for large pieces of jewelry.

The front snap is sturdy and secure.

It's lined with a velvet interior and won't scratch your jewelry.

There are no hooks or snaps for necklaces.

If you're pressed for space, go for the Vlando Viaggio Small Jewelry Case Box , a roll-up case containing three cylinder compartments stacked on top of each other, each of which forms a spiral when opened. While this doesn't contain any dedicated slots or slits for your jewelry pieces, it can accommodate both large and small chunky bracelets, rings, brooches, and pins (we wouldn't recommend this for necklaces or dainty bracelets as there are no hooks or snaps and they could get tangled). It's also nicely constructed with a non-scratch velvet interior despite its low price tag — the stitching was even and the front snap shut nicely to ensure nothing fell out.

Size: 3.3 x 7.3 inches | Colors: 11 | Material: Faux leather

Six months after first trying it, this travel jewelry case is still working great. It was ideal for packing and separating small items — like hair pins — for a wedding and honeymoon, and we appreciate that it also has a few deeper compartments. What we don’t love is that it can’t stand up on its own and that you have to open it carefully to make sure it’s not upside down.

Best Space-Saving

Bagsmart peri folding jewelry organizer.

This has a foldable design, which is easy to pack up and open.

It has useful buttons for rings and necklaces.

There is ample capacity for a variety of pieces.

The exterior is soft and may get damaged if not packed with caution.

The Bagsmart Travel Jewelry Organizer Roll may look like a clutch at first glance, but once unfolded, this foldable organizer spreads out into a convenient jewelry storage option. Featuring buckle bands for rings, a panel for earrings, and a necklace buckle, along with an interior zipper pouch and a pocket, it's impressive how much this roll fits despite its size. We love that it's compact enough to fit into an overnight bag, but has plenty of space for lots of jewelry options.

We found the buttons are useful for rings and necklaces, and the zipper compartments are great for bracelets and smaller items. It kept almost all the jewelry in place during the shake and drop tests, and the roll itself did not pop open even after dropping it multiple times. The exterior is soft and may get damaged if not packed with caution. All in all, this is a great option for maximalist packers who may not need hard-sided protection for their jewelry case (for instance, if they plan on carrying it with them in a tote bag).

Size: 6.3 x 9.06 x 5.75 inches | Colors: 9 | Material: Cotton

After six months of use, this travel jewelry organizer is still working fine. We appreciate the bag’s durability and ample storage capacity. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly travel jewelry case with lots of storage space.

Vee & Co. Small Travel Jewelry Case

  • Performance 4.5 /5

This case comes with a reasonable price tag.

It's lightweight to travel with.

The vegan leather exterior is easy to wipe clean.

Though this comes with a mirror, it isn't covered and could scratch easily.

The Vee Small Travel Jewelry Case is a nifty little travel case with a clamshell opening and a range of pockets and fasteners on the top and bottom. We were able to fit all of our jewelry pieces in the box with plenty of room to spare for more rings, bracelets, or necklaces. It also comes at a very affordable price, so it's a nice gift for a friend or yourself.

The lightweight case has the perfect balance of organizational features without feeling overwhelming. There are enough ring pillows for seven rings, and we love that the dividers in the bottom compartment can be taken out and adjusted to fit chunky or delicate jewelry, The upper compartment has a mirror with small holes around the border which are ideal for stud earrings. Also, the flap opens up to reveal three fasteners and a pouch and hooks for necklaces. Because it's made with vegan leather, it's easy to wipe clean when necessary. It comes with a mirror, but it's not protected, so note that it will likely scratch after a few uses.

Size: 3.94 x 3.94 x 1.97 inches | Colors: 4 | Material: Vegan leather

Best for Long Trips

Calpak jewelry case.

The durable exterior holds up well to being tossed around.

It comes in a range of fun, bold colors.

There's a good division of space, and the jewelry pieces don't touch each other.

This doesn't have a carrying handle, which can be a little inconvenient.

If you're looking for a convenient way to store jewelry for longer trips where you'll want to travel with a variety of different jewelry pieces, it doesn't get much better than the Calpak Jewelry Case . The roomy drawstring pocket is ideal for things like bangles, chunky rings, or larger costume jewelry — it also has several interior pockets that keep jewelry separate that you can use for more valuable pieces (or even your stash of disappearing bobby pins). For daintier, more delicate necklaces, you can store them tucked into the pocket and snapped with the fastener for extra security.

In terms of durability, this scored high in our tests. We noted that the drawstring pouch was very convenient and held up pretty well even after throwing it around and tossing the contents about. Color-wise, there are three classic and three limited shades to choose from; the only real downside is the absence of a carrying handle, which isn't a dealbreaker.

Size: 7 x 5 x 2.5 inches | Colors: 6 | Material: Faux leather

We are extremely pleased with how well the Calpak Jewelry Case has held up during the past six months of testing. The condition of the case is unchanged after being dropped and squished into many totes and suitcases. When stored in this case, all of our jewelry items remain intact with no tangles. The ring holder and necklace hooks are extremely helpful, and the zipper has remained consistently smooth when opening and closing. One thing we wish it had are designated earring holes, but we appreciate the pockets and pouches that keep earrings and other small jewelry items secure.

Best for Short Trips

Mejuri jewelry case.

  • Performance 3 /5
  • Value 4.5 /5

It fits easily into different types of suitcases and totes.

The suede interior is gentle on jewelry and won't scratch.

The brand offers free monogramming, making this great for gifting.

This can't accommodate larger, chunkier pieces.

Short trips call for a travel jewelry case that's easy to fill, throw into your duffel bag, and access once you get to your destination, and the Mejuri Travel Case certainly delivers. It's slightly bigger than the size of a hand and can fit three pairs of earrings as well as four necklaces and bracelets and a handful of rings.

While the case isn't as big as some of the others on our list (and therefore can't fit larger costume jewelry-type pieces), we found it to be a solid option for anyone looking to travel with their most-loved pieces, or those going on a weekend getaway with a small carry-on or tote. The suede interior is gentle on jewelry, and the leather material is easy to wipe clean. This case also makes a nice gift, especially with the free monogramming Mejuri offers.

Size: 4 x 4 x 1.4 inches | Colors: 2 | Material: Leather

Best Monogrammed

Mark & graham small travel jewelry case.

The hard exterior can handle drops and shakes, so it's great for airplane travel.

There are several color and pattern options, which is especially nice if you're considering buying two.

It's made with a pebbled vegan leather exterior and a cushioned interior with a built-in mirror.

If you have a lot of jewelry, this is not big enough for at-home storage.

It's sleek, durable, and monogrammable — the Mark & Graham Small Travel Jewelry Case is a no-brainer for those looking for a travel jewelry case that's functional and pretty. This comes in 32 color and print options (the most of any on our list) and has several font options to choose from.

Aside from being able to personalize this case, we were impressed by its performance. The exterior is hard (read: it won't change shape during transit) and made of pebbled vegan leather, while the interior looks like a jewelry tray complete with several cushioned slots (for rings or earrings) as well as rectangular compartments. Plus, this has a built-in decent-sized mirror that can double up as a close-up mirror for eyeshadow application. It also held up to tossing and shaking well. It's not large enough to be your do-it-all case for jewelry storage, but as far as travel jewelry cases go, this is a fantastic option.

Size: 4.5 x 4.5 x 2.25 inches | Colors: 32 | Material: Vegan leather

After six months of testing, this case is still in the same pristine condition as when we originally received it (despite the lighter color material). While the case would be useful for someone who prefers a personalized item in a unique pattern or color, we found that the case was too bulky for our taste. We also wished there were more dedicated spaces for earrings and fewer for rings, but again, that is just our preference.

Kendra Scott Medium Travel Jewelry Case

It has a great design with no wasted space.

It can double as an at-home jewelry box, which is nice considering the higher price tag.

This comes with a removable pouch that you can use for other items like makeup.

The exterior material became scuffed during testing.

The Kendra Scott Medium Travel Jewelry Case checks every box if a large jewelry organizer is what you're after. It has an excellent design with no wasted space. The case comes with multiple compartments to store different types of jewelry as well as a removable pouch that could be used on its own if you don't want to use the larger case. While the outside of the box was scuffed slightly during testing, the inside materials were well-cushioned and stable, and none of the pieces moved or became tangled after tossing.

It comes in four gorgeous colors, and it's large enough to throw in a checked bag, but it can also definitely be left open on your dresser for at-home use. One thing we'd like to see is necklace hooks on the upper flap.

Size: 8 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches | Colors: 4 | Material: Polyurethane

We’re still loving this jewelry case six months after we first received it. We appreciate the case's numerous compartments, durable material, and attractive appearance. The case has not developed any scratches or scuffs on the exterior or interior material. We like it so much that we leave it out as an everyday jewelry case when we’re not traveling.

Paravel Jewelry Case

  • Capacity 4.5 /5

This case can be monogrammed.

It can accommodate large pieces of jewelry.

It's Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Global Recycled Standard-approved.

It's made from durable materials.

It's not great for storing necklaces.

If you know someone who loves to accessorize while traveling, the Paravel Jewelry Case makes a wonderful gift (though you'll definitely end up wanting to snag one for yourself). With monogramming capabilities in two stylish colors, this jewelry case features one main compartment (a removable drawstring bag with six internal pockets) along with a snap tab bar for studs or small hoops as well as rings. We loved the wide capacity of the drawstring bag — it was spacious enough to hold larger pieces of jewelry (like bangles and watches) and even a pair of sunglasses. Plus, because it's a bag, it's easy to remove from the jewelry case and use on its own.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Global Recycled Standard-approved case also scored high marks for durability. Even after putting it through its paces (pushing on it and throwing it) there were no marks, and when we pressed on the top it didn't cave in at all. The material is durable and protective and the zipper is smooth. One thing to note: while you can store necklaces in the interior bag, they can easily tangle.

Size: 3.6 x 5.6 inches | Colors: 2 | Material: Canvas, vegan leather

The Paravel Jewelry Case still looks as good as the day we got it six months ago. We’ve taken it on several trips and have found that our favorite part is the convenient earring and ring storage on the top of the case. We appreciate how sturdy the case is, but it’s also a bit large and inflexible, so it takes up more space in our carry-on than we’d like. Overall, we think this is a timeless, high-quality jewelry case that’s a great option for many travelers.

Best Design

Cuyana travel jewelry case.

The soft, sturdy leather exterior holds up to scuffs and scratches.

It's available in two beautiful finishes.

The interior straps are removable, which offers versatility if you want to store larger jewelry pieces.

It would be nice to have a second removable strap for earrings.

Cuyana's oval-shaped Travel Jewelry Case won our pick for Best Design — everything from the high-quality sturdy Italian leather to the muted color palette and sleek zipper stood out to us. It also comes in two finishes, pebbled and shimmer, both of which hold up to scuffs and scratches. This case features a detachable earring strap with six holes, which can hold three pairs of earrings, and another suede strap that hangs necklaces into an elasticized pocket for tangle-free storage.

We love how small and slim this is, while still being roomy enough for a weekend's worth of jewelry. We also love its versatility in fitting into a purse, work bag , or even jacket pocket despite being barely bigger than the palm of a hand. And, because the ring and earring straps are removable, this makes more room for other items that may require additional space. If we could make one improvement, we would add another removable strap for earrings to this case.

Size: 5 x 3.5 x 1.23 inches | Colors: 6 | Material: Leather

Six months after receiving it, we are still obsessed with this jewelry case. It’s so sleek and stylish that we use it at home to store our favorite jewelry pieces. We love the versatility of the case, as it’s easy to bring on any type of trip in a purse or carry-on. Despite its compact size, it holds plenty of jewelry; we just wish it had a few more organization hooks and latches. The high-quality leather material has held up well (except for one small scuff mark that can be easily buffed out).

Best Leather

Levenger mini jewelry organizer.

The zipper is smooth and works effortlessly.

This has several compartments that keep fine jewelry secure.

The slim size is easy to pack.

It's best for short trips or those with only a few pieces of jewelry.

If you're looking for a high-quality case that gets better with time, opt for the Levenger Carrie Mini Jewelry Organizer , which is made of touchable soft pebbled leather that's accented with gold hardware. The case weighs less than half a pound and isn't much bigger than a wallet, making it the ideal organizer to throw in your tote or weekender .

Like most travel jewelry cases, this one features snaps to keep your necklaces in place along with a pouch to hang the bottom in to ensure they don't get tangled. We were also impressed with the internal zipper pouch that is a great fit for bracelets or a larger pair of earrings. Overall, this case is small and slim, but with its protected compartments, it would work well for someone looking to keep a few pieces of fine jewelry extra secure.

Size: 4.25 x 1 x 4.5 inches | Colors: 3 | Material: Leather

After six months of travel, this case has held up beautifully. We have found the case to be portable and easy to use, and it would be a great addition to a gym bag. The case feels durable, and it keeps jewelry items secure.

Other Travel Jewelry Cases We Tried

  • Away The Jewelry Box : The overall construction of this organizer felt substantial and sturdy. The compartments and snaps felt secure, and we liked the additional padded piece for extra stability, protection, and separation. However, the snap bar holding the rings came loose during testing and the top part is not hard, meaning it could be compressed and therefore damaged during long-haul traveling.
  • Beis The Hanging Jewelry Case : We like how roomy and spacious this jewelry case is as well as the space-saving aspect of a hanging organizer. It's quite long and can hold several pieces, yet it folds up quite compactly. However, getting stuff out of the top small pockets is a little tricky because the pockets don't open wide. Also, the magnetic closure came undone with tossing. We see this better suited for makeup or if you're looking for a way to pack up all your jewelry during a move.
  • Leatherology Small Jewelry Organizer : This case doesn't have any organizational features besides a small pocket on the side and a removable cinch pouch, but what stood out to us was its compact size and impressive depth — it's deep enough to fit bulkier jewelry like watches or necklaces with thick pendants. This is a simple jewelry case, and it performed as designed, but because it doesn't feature any fasteners or pockets, things like necklaces or daintier bracelets may get tangled.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Travel Jewelry Case

While the size of a potential travel jewelry case is dependent on how much you plan to accessorize and how long your trip is, it's best to pack enough jewelry that is versatile and can be worn with a variety of outfits. "This will help save on space and make staying organized easier," says Abigail Valentine, a former costume designer and current personal stylist based in Phoenix. Valentine also suggests leaving a little extra room to accommodate any shopping that is done on the trip (if you are someone who likes a sparkly souvenir).

The size of your travel jewelry case will also depend on your method of travel. If you're traveling by plane, both Valentine and Brez recommend packing your travel jewelry case in a carry-on to avoid potential lost luggage or damage from handling. This, of course, means it'll have to be compact enough to fit alongside your other carry-on belongings. "If carry-on space is an issue and you have a mix of expensive and moderately priced pieces, consider buying two smaller travel cases: One to carry on with your more expensive items and then check one with your less expensive, fun items," says Valentine.

Compartments

No matter the size of the travel jewelry case, the spacing between each piece is important. "Hooks and separate locations are very important within a jewelry case," says Karina Brez, equestrian fine jewelry designer. You should also try to avoid layering your pieces and having them touch, as this can increase the risk of scratching depending on the metal, notes Valentine. "For rings, I prefer them to be set horizontally between two cushions, rather than slip on vertically on a cushioned tube — this will prevent touching and scratching," she adds. Our best overall pick, the Bagsmart Jewelry Organizer Bag , has lots of visible compartments to organize all of your jewelry.

There are a variety of materials to choose from when choosing a travel jewelry case, but Valentine says to look for leather or faux leather since they're easy to wipe clean. The inside is also important — you'll want to opt for velvet, polyester, or suede lining as these are gentle on jewelry, are less likely to scratch, and don't attract too much dust. Our pick for the best travel jewelry case for weekend trips (and one of Oprah's favorite things), the Benevolence Plush Velvet Jewelry Travel Case , has a velvet lining to keep your jewelry gently in place.

Storage Type

"I definitely recommend ring holders, earring panels with holes, and zippers for necklaces and bracelets," says Brez. "Ideally, there would be all three within the jewelry case and hopefully multiple of each." Hooks and pouches for necklaces are a must for more delicate necklaces, while the option to customize the pads will give you the most versatility when packing a travel jewelry case, says Valentine.

Our PEOPLE Tested team tried out 25 travel jewelry cases. For each case, we looked at ease of use, capacity, design, and performance, eventually narrowing it down to ones that stood out from the rest.

  • Packing Test: To start, we packed each travel jewelry case according to one standard packing list that consisted of three necklaces, three rings, two bracelets, one watch, and four earrings (one post, one hoop clasp, and two earrings of the tester's choice). Our testers looked at how sturdy the travel jewelry case seemed and if the materials seemed protective. They also took into account any design features such as buttons, fasteners, dividers, and straps that made packing easier.
  • Damage Test: After packing, they decided if each travel jewelry case was best fit for a suitcase, weekender, and/or a tote and if it was versatile enough for at-home storage. They then gave the travel jewelry case a vigorous shake, tossed it in the air, and dropped it on the ground. Our testers were told to open the travel jewelry case and examine all contents inside, taking note of any pieces of jewelry that came loose from where they packed it, got tangled together, or were damaged.
  • Ease of Use: Finally, our testers were instructed to remove one pair of earrings, one necklace, and one ring from the travel jewelry case, as if they were going to wear them. They cited how easy it was to do so or if it was time-consuming and tedious to get to the desired piece based on the damage test.

Frequently Asked Questions

While some people opt for traveling with their jewelry pieces in a pouch, a travel jewelry case provides the most security. The best way to keep your jewelry from being damaged when traveling is to avoid overstuffing the travel case, says Valentine. "If you need more space, consider buying two of the travel cases you like or look for a bigger option — the goal is to keep everything separate and secured."

You'll also want to ensure all organizers are buttoned and zipped up. If you really want to be careful, Brez recommends packaging up anything that might come in contact with another piece of jewelry in individual tissues before placing it into your travel jewelry case.

This depends on how much jewelry you like to wear, but, generally speaking, Valentine says to look for a travel jewelry case that can hold at least three to five necklaces, four to six rings, and two to five small earrings. There should also be an area big enough for a moderate-sized bangle or statement earring. "If you are someone who really likes accessories, I suggest looking for a bigger case that rolls or hangs with individual compartments," she says. If you're looking for a small and slim travel jewelry case for a short trip, the Levenger Mini Jewelry Organizer is a great choice. For longer trips (or more jewelry options), we recommend the Kendra Scott Medium Travel Jewelry Case .

15 Best Travel Jewelry Cases For Your Next Getaway, According To Experts

Plus, the foolproof way to prevent knotted necklaces.

three travel jewelry cases

Is there a fancier travel accessory than the jewelry case? I think not! This particular piece of luggage gives us the ‘ oh honey my diamonds simply wouldn’t fit in my checked bag ’ energy I personally have aspired to all my life. And, it doesn’t have to cost as much as that Tiffany & Co. bracelet you’ve been lusting after. With options less than $20 you can safely carry your most precious jewels safely and in style.

First, do not put your big pieces in your checked luggage. All your expensive prized possession pieces must be worn on the flight. “I always wear my Cartier bracelets right onto the flight and then put it straight in the safe when I get to the hotel,” George said. “If you put it in your backpack or your luggage, there’s a greater chance it’ll get stolen.” (Side note: real gold and diamonds actually do not set off metal detectors. The more you know!)

When you’re packing, velvet bags or something with a fabric lining is a must-have for anything that could be scratched or tarnished. And make sure you leave all the clasps outside of the zippered or tied bag, George says. “If you leave the clasps out, your necklaces won’t tangle together.” Travel agent Leslee Prenger of Rainbow Travel Services Inc. cautioned globetrotters to make sure their jewelry is properly wrapped. And in a pinch, a business card can be pierced and used as a holder for earrings and bracelets.

George also encourages travelers to pick a case that has plenty of organization so you can see your pieces. “You want to be able to see what you have so it all gets worn,” George added . With these options you won’t ever be stuck without space for your best looks:

BAGSMART Travel Jewelry Storage Bag

Nordstrom Round Jewelry Box

Round Jewelry Box

Take your rings and tiny things on the road in this adorable circular jewelry box. It also includes a mirror for popping in your earrings (or applying lipstick, whatever you need!) This box zips shut so you don’t have to worry about your favorite pair of studs shaking loose.

WOLF Large Leather Jewelry Travel Case

Splurge on this large jewelry case. It's perfect for when you are traveling for a wedding or other formal occasion where you need all of your best jewels.

The quilted leather bag, with LusterLoc™ fabric lining, promises no tarnishing on your metals by absorbing all hostile gases. This pouch has a ring bar, an earring bar, four necklace holders, and pockets for all of your special items.

Smythson Panama Medium Trinket Case

This high-end leather jewelry case is a great investment for frequent travelers and jewelry wearers alike! With a zip closure, suede lining, with a gorgeous gold zipper, his case is an investment, and a classic look you’ll be carrying with you forever.

5 Tips: HOW TO CHOOSE the Best Travel Jewelry Case for You

1. hard or soft travel jewelry organizer .

A hard jewelry case seems like the most sturdy, protective organizer for travel. But, this is only true if everything is held securely inside. Well-padded, soft travel jewelry organizers can sometimes do this better, while also saving on space. And while hard exteriors are generally easy to clean with a damp cloth, some fabric organizers can be tossed in the washing machine.

2. Spacious or Compact Travel Jewelry Case

Obviously, how much space you need in your travel jewelry case mostly depends on how much and what type of jewelry you like to travel with. If you travel minimally with only a few pieces, you can get away with a smaller, more compact travel jewelry case. But some small cases won’t fit your chunky bracelet or keep necklaces from tangling.

3. Variety of Features to Organize Travel Jewelry

The jewelry organizers below come with a variety of features. Some are best suited for small, petite pieces and others work well for large, chunky pieces. Do you need a travel jewelry case to secure long, delicate necklaces? A zippered pocket or pouch to store a watch or wide bracelet? Double-access ring rolls? A mirror and lots of clear pockets? Are clear pockets a must-have?

4. Closure to Secure Travel Jewelry

Consider whether you care how a jewelry case for travel is secured. Must it be a zippered closure, or are buttons, ties and buckles cool, too? While zippers and snaps feel the most secure, other closures might give you the wiggle room to fit that extra piece you really want to bring on that trip.

5. Personal Style for Jewelry Travel Case

Do you like classy or quirky? Something timeless that works for all your travels or something a little more playful and fun? While personal style has a lot to do with the exterior material you like best, it also applies to how durable you need it to be. Tossing a travel jewelry case in a backpack is obviously different than keeping it in your carry-on (although backpacks can have a lot of cushioning!).

Ellis James Designs’ Travel Jewelry Bag is an affordable, compact, and secure case that can hold more than enough jewelry for two full weeks of travel.

  • Size and Capacity
  • Performance
  • Competition
  • Final Verdict

We purchased the Ellis James Designs’ Travel Jewelry Bag so our reviewer could put it to the test. Keep reading for our full product review.

If you like to accessorize on vacation, you’ve probably dealt with your fair share of lost earrings and tangled necklaces. While Pinterest has a few hacks for the latter, what you really need is a travel jewelry organizer that can safely store your rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. With various zippered pockets and detachable straps, Ellis James Designs’ Travel Jewelry Bag is a top contender. Here, we put it to the test evaluating its storage capacity, looks, performance, and competition.

Size and Capacity: Bigger than it looks

Despite its unassuming 9.7 x 6.1 x 2-inch build, this organizer can hold quite a bit of jewelry. Thoughtful design features that pull double duty—like a ring/bracelet holder that also keeps the earring panel in place—save space for additional accessories. In our testing, we were able to fit 16 pairs of earrings (including several pairs of long, dangly earrings) and more than 15 rings and bracelets. Provided you aren’t an overpacker , the average person should be able to pack at least a week’s worth of jewelry in this case.

If you run out of room on the ring holder or earring panel, there are three zippered pouches as well. The middle pocket and the earring panel can also be snapped in and out, freeing up extra room in the case’s center if needed. In addition to the earrings, bracelets, and rings, we were able to hold five to ten necklaces depending on length (more on that in the section below.) We also stuffed a few smaller beauty and wellness items, like lip gloss, bandages, and cotton swabs into the pockets, and found a surprising amount of useful space.

We were able to fit 16 pairs of earrings (including several pairs of long, dangly earrings) and more than 15 rings and bracelets.

The only real qualm we had with the bag was its inability to store chunkier, cuff-style bracelets. With both of the middle panels snapped out, we were able to hold one 2-inch wide bracelet, but it expanded the case to its maximum width. When we tried adding more jewelry, it caused the sides to bulge out. As the case is made from flexible fabric, that worked for short-term use, but it’s possible the bag could lose its form if consistently overpacked.

Performance: Securely held all kinds of jewelry

The most important question with any travel jewelry case is whether it safely and securely stores your delicate accessories, and the Ellis James Designs case passed this test with flying colors. To test the bag, we packed it with seven pairs of earrings, seven necklaces, and a few rings and bracelets, estimating that to be approximately the amount of jewelry we’d bring for a week of travel.

We first took the bag on a road trip, packing it into our luggage which was stored in the back of our vehicle. After a four-hour drive in each direction, the case hadn’t even shifted in the suitcase, and the jewelry was precisely as we packed it. We then tested the organizer by stowing it in a large purse and carrying it around during a day of running errands. Despite repeatedly tossing the purse into our car, shoving it into shopping carts, and giving the jewelry case plenty of room to bounce around the in the bag, all items once again stayed secure.

The final test wasn’t so much a real-life scenario, but was extremely informative: We packed the case full, shook it upside-down, martini style, and then tossed the case back and forth between two people for a few rounds. We repeated this three times and can happily report that this case performed exceptionally well. Only one earring came loose during our testing, and upon examination, we found that the metal back on the earring was quite loose in the first place. All other earrings, including teardrop-style, stayed put.

The inside of the case is off-white and made of durable, tear-proof material, so a rogue earring won’t rip the fabric.

The rings and bracelets on the strap shifted from one side of the case to the other and made rattling sounds while shaking, but none came loose, nor did they appear to knock anything else loose while moving. The only issue we ran into—and only when shaken martini-style—was that some of the necklaces with longer chains became tangled. The necklace section of the case has four clips on each side, which means longer necklaces need to be wrapped or twisted like a figure-8 around the clips. While this works for most necklaces, those that were too long to be pulled taught became mildly tangled during heavy shaking. Still, they only took a minute to untangle.

Appearance: Simple and elegant

We love the elegant style of this case. Made from quilted, water-resistant fabric, the bag is simple in design save for color-contrasted piping around the edges. The design is timeless enough to stay in style and should match most powder room color schemes. The inside of the case is off-white and made of durable, tear-proof material, so a rogue earring won’t rip the fabric. The zippers feel strong enough to stand up to heavy use and they didn't snag or pull when rapidly zipped back and forth. We detached and reattached the necklace straps hundreds of times and the snaps didn’t break or lose strength.

Price: Within most budgets

While you can certainly find cheaper jewelry organizers, the Ellis James case merits its roughly $30 price tag. Given its pleasing design, durability, and capacity, it’s a worthwhile one-time investment.

We detached and reattached the necklace straps hundreds of times and the snaps didn’t break or lose strength.

Competition: Depends on your capacity needs

We highly recommend the Ellis James case, but depending on your needs, it may have a few shortfalls. If you’re tight on space (traveling with just a backpack, perhaps ) you may want a smaller option, like the Case Elegance Vegan Leather Travel Jewelry Case . It won’t hold longer necklaces or any kind of chunky jewelry, but it rolls up, which makes it easy to fit in most small bags. If you’re planning on carrying a lot of jewelry or perhaps also want to use it to hold makeup , you may be better served by a hanging case like the Jaimie Jewelry Hanging Organizer . It’s divided into small, zippered pockets, and can easily hang on the back of a hotel room door or shower rod. It’ll hold more items and can be folded over and snapped shut, but even empty and closed, it measures 8.3 x 10.2 inches—making it larger than the Ellis James case.

Want to take a look at some other options? See our guide to the best travel jewelry cases .

The Ellis James Designs’ travel bag is a smart buy for most travelers. It’s elegantly and thoughtfully designed with storage space for dozens of rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Rigorous testing also proved it’s more than able to securely store all types of jewelry.

So whether you're looking to store your rings, necklaces, or anything in between, check out one of our top picks for travel jewelry cases.

Here are the best travel jewelry cases in 2021:

  • Best travel jewelry case overall: Leatherology Large Jewelry Case
  • Best large travel jewelry case: Lily & Drew Travel Jewelry Storage Carrying Case
  • Best small travel jewelry case: Cuyana Mini Leather Jewelry Case
  • Best travel jewelry case for necklaces: UnionPlus Velvet Travel Jewelry Case Roll Bag
  • Best carry-on travel jewelry case: Mejuri Travel Case

The best travel jewelry case overall

designer travel jewellery case

The Leatherology Large Jewelry Case is big enough to hold as many pieces as you'd possibly want to bring on vacation, without taking up too much room in your luggage.

Pros: Full-grain leather with suede interior, slim silhouette, ample storage options

Cons: Limited space for bulky pieces or bracelets

Our obsession with affordable leather goods brand Leatherology is well-documented , so it's no surprise they make a great travel option for jewelry. The Large Jewelry Case is one of the best on the market. The design reminds me of those zippered school supply cases we had growing up in the '90s, only chic, minimalist, and meant to hold jewelry instead of Milky Pens.

The case is made of full-grain leather with a gentle suede interior to protect your valuables. Details include six leather tabs for securing up to three necklaces, a panel with 14 holes for earrings, a removable ring bar, and two zippered pockets. Despite the ample storage possibilities, the case has a slim silhouette and won't add a ton of bulk to your suitcase.

Available in 10 gorgeous colors, it's easy to find one that matches your aesthetic. And if that's not enough customization for you, the case can be personalized with a monogram.

The best large travel jewelry case

The Lily & Drew Travel Jewelry Storage Case is perfect for over packers, thanks to its removable pouch for additional storage.

Pros: Affordable, lots of storage, water-resistant exterior

Cons: Not as stylish as some other options

Planning a long vacation or simply can't narrow down your options? The Lily & Drew Travel Jewelry Storage Case has ample room to store pieces of all sizes, plus an additional removable zipper pouch that you can toss in your carry-on.

This case has six necklace holders with coordinating pouches to keep them from tangling in transit, plus a horizontal ring loop, 28 earring holes, and two zipper pouches.

The nylon exterior is water-resistant, while the velvety lining guards against wear-and-tear. Additionally, there's an outside pocket for easy access on the go.

The best small travel jewelry case

designer travel jewellery case

Why you'll love it: The Cuyana Mini Jewelry Case stylishly holds a pared-down selection for a weekend away.

Pros: Small size, Italian leather, combo ring and earring storage bar

Cons: No dedicated necklace holders

Cuyana makes pitch-perfect leather goods to suit every occasion. The brand's Mini Jewelry Case is a fantastic option for storing a select few pieces in style. It's ideal for short weekend trips, and if you're the type who travels often you may even find yourself leaving it packed and ready-to-go at all times.

This paired-down version of the brand's full-size Jewelry Case features a leather strip for storing rings and/or earrings, plus a drawstring felt pouch in the bottom. The gorgeous Italian leather can be personalized with Cuyana's signature monogramming and comes in five rich colors. Gold hardware and a tassel zipper pull add luxurious finishing touches.

A major downside of this design is the lack of an individual necklace holder — you could store one in the drawstring pouch, but there's no guarantee a delicate chain won't get tangled. But if you gravitate more toward rings, earrings, and bracelets, this is a great option.

The best travel jewelry case for necklaces

designer travel jewellery case

You can store up to 12 necklaces and bracelets with the UnionPlus Velvet Travel Jewelry Case Roll Bag .

Pros: Holds up to 12 necklaces, flexible material, velvet-like interior, affordable

Cons: Only for necklaces or small bracelets

Let's face it — necklaces are the worst to travel with, and some jewelry holders are severely lacking in options for necklace storage. Keep your precious delicate chains and chunky pendants tangle-free in the UnionPlus Velvet Travel Jewelry Case .

This roll-style jewelry travel case unfurls to reveal 12 button-closure holders for necklaces or bracelets. It's not the most visually attractive option out there, but who decided luggage needs to look good, anyway? Doesn't it do enough without also fulfilling our chic French girl fantasies at the same time?

While the version we're highlighting here is for necklaces only, the same brand offers a few iterations with spaces for rings, earrings, etc. If you're a necklace obsessive, though, you can't go wrong with this super bare-bones pick. All of them have the same flexible, easy to pack design.

The best carry-on travel jewelry case

designer travel jewellery case

The Mejuri Travel Case is surprisingly compact for how much jewelry it can stash on the inside.

Pros: Compact design, holds necklaces, earrings, rings, zip closure, anti-tarnish suede lining

Cons: None to speak of

A small jewelry case doesn't have to mean limited storage options. Carry-on only travelers will love the Mejuri Travel Case . The compact, wallet-sized jewelry holder is small enough to fit in your purse, but thanks to some smart design, stashes everything you need for long weekend.

The blush-colored grain leather exterior gives way to a tarnish-resistant suede lining outfitted with four necklace hooks, a stretch pocket, six earring holes, and a snap-closure ring holder.

You can pack a surprising amount of jewelry in such a tiny package. There's no extraneous room — only enough space for the pieces you need.

This is a great pick if you like to keep some extra jewelry with you wherever you go. Plus, the design is beautiful; no clunky details or attractive materials to be found.

Because of the soft interior suede and the zip closure, this is a wonderful option for storing more valuable jewelry, especially since you can easily pack it in a carry-on.

7 new luxury Russian jewelry brands

designer travel jewellery case

1. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov

designer travel jewellery case

This world-renowned jewelry maker began his career in the 1990s. At first, Fazulzyanov worked in stained glass, but at the age of 26 he opened his own jewelry workshop. International acclaim first came 10 years ago: Ilgiz twice won the Grand Prix in the International Jewelry Design Excellence Award competition, often described as the ‘Oscars for jewelers’. Then, in 2016 the Moscow Kremlin Museums staged a solo exhibition of his outstanding jewelry.

Under the brand name of Ilgiz F., this master creates unique ornamental pieces, some of which have already become collector items, appearing for sale at Christie’s and Sotheby’s.

His signature techniques are hot enamel and stained-glass inserts, and he takes special pride in ornamental enamel pieces. This is a complex technique with historical connotations, traditionally common in Muslim countries, whose jewelry traditions inspire Fazulzyanov. In interviews he often compares himself to an artist. Indeed, his work, owing to its color and plasticity, resembles miniature artworks.

Last year Ilgiz opened a gallery in Moscow (he also has a boutique in Paris, on the prestigious street, Faubourg Saint-Honoré), where he shows not only his own work, but also curatorial exhibitions of contemporary Russian jewelry art.

2. Leonid Agafonov

designer travel jewellery case

This year the Agafonov Workshop will mark its 25th anniversary. It was founded by jewelry maker Leonid Agafonov, whose daughter Maria is now actively taking over the business. The workshop is famous for its enamel work and bone-carved pieces. When working with precious stones, the jewelry makers engage well-known gem cutters such as the world-famous master of artistic gem cutting, Dmitry Samorukov.

The workshop’s pride is a jewelry box made of American walnut and carved mammoth tusk. It was born from the imagination of a master bone carver and realized by the entire workshop. Work on the jewelry box took almost four months.

3. Edward Nikitin

designer travel jewellery case

It is difficult to describe what the award-winning jeweler produces as ornamental jewelry. According to experts, his work, with its profound philosophical overtones, can be described as metaphors in jewelry. Thus, in creating his Games of Unicorns brooches (pictured right), Edward, who is originally from the Ural mountain region where East meets West, sets out the connection between different cultural traditions and layers of history. In the Royal Hunt composition he portrays the eternal theme of confrontation between man and time.

The complex symbolism of his pieces is combined with subtlety of execution: Edward is a perfectionist and takes each piece to an artistic absolute. This brilliant jewelry designer also remains true to himself in small items, turning even accessories - for example, gold jabot brooches - into complex jewelry miniatures.

4. Zakhar Borisenko

designer travel jewellery case

Borisenko's Epic Jewelry brand is still young, but it distinguishes itself with a flamboyant and unconventional style. As the only jewelry house in Russia that works with carbon fiber and creates gold rings in the shape of paper clips, its target audience is mostly young professionals, and this is why it has a sense of humor.

Zakhar goes for unusual designs, doing collaborations with famous theater designers and illustrators. For five years the brand has been represented in Hong Kong and is a frequent participant at international jewelry exhibitions.

Epic Jewelry is also known for its pieces that have adjustable parts and ornaments with engineering themes, such as the Turbines   series of rings and cufflinks, as well as a series that utilizes ebony .

5. Yaroslav Argentov

designer travel jewellery case

The Yaroslav ArgentoV brand specializes in exceptional jewelry work. The firm’s owner believes that jewelry design should be backed up by genuine craftsmanship rather than trends and fashion. The jewelry house is famous for its glyptic work: intaglios and cameos made by Russian craftsmen, and also stone-cut jewelry miniatures mounted to make perfectly functional pieces.

The country's best intaglio carvers work with Yaroslav - in particular Vladimir Popovich, whose work has been recognized far beyond the borders of Russia. Vladimir is rightly regarded as belonging to the pleiad of the world's best masters of pictorial intaglio. The creation of artistic compositions using the technique of relief engraving requires particular meticulousness and experience, born out of many years of working with stones.

In particular, ArgentoV has proudly launched Vladimir's work from the Russian Seasons series - the intaglio Carnival (pictured on photo), which depicts the legendary dancers Vaslav Nijinsky and Lydia Lopokova, executed on a blue topaz.

6. Igor Uchevatov

designer travel jewellery case

This jeweler from Krasnoyarsk uses elaborate materials in his work. In particular, a series of ornamental items made of titanium has spread his reputation far and wide. Igor puts together complex sculptural compositions using elements that are worked with filigree precision: Anodised metal components are given unusual colors, enamel inserts and a scattering of precious stones.

Last year Uchevatov's work was recognized on the national level with his participation in the exhibition, Best Artists of Russia 2018 - Decorative and Applied Art.

7. Sergei Izmestiev

designer travel jewellery case

Izmestiev Diamonds produces thematic collections with an emphasis on precious stones. The brand has an impressive range of wares; for instance, a Dragon ring featuring a splendid Ceylon sapphire, a Grapes brooch with South Sea pearls, and an Ivy brooch with an elegant demantoid and diamond pavé setting.

The brand's new collection is called Japanese Garden, and is based on themes drawn from the natural world of that Asian country. The centerpiece is a vivid flaming brooch, Wind in the Garden (bottom of the pic), made of rubies, Pamir spinels, diamonds, morganites and enamel inserts.

Luxurious Vision

The Most Exclusive Russian Luxury Brands

Dressing from head to toe in Russian outfits that are fashionable and modern, as well as comfortable, has become completely feasible. We have selected some of the most luxurious Russian fashion brands to suit a wide variety of tastes and budgets, making them available to shoppers anywhere in the world.

The most exclusive Russian luxury brands include: Sasha Gapanovich, Koshe, Valentin Yudashkin, Alena Akhmadullina Fashion, Cluev Jewellery, Gaydamak Jewellery, Yanina Couture , Rasario , Gosha Rubchinsky , Outlaw Moscow, Nina Donis, Russian streetwear brands: Anton Lisin, and Russian streetwear brands: Fusion

Sasha Gapanovich

Sasha Gapanovich

Sasha Gapanovich, from the polar city of Murmansk, calls her clothes “women’s clothing from the far north.” The cosy sets of her are suitable for the cold. She uses a lot of wool and hand knitting and is inspired by Russian and vintage motifs.

The artist films her collections against the backdrop of harsh, breathtakingly beautiful northern landscapes, for example, in Teriberka, an atmospheric arctic town in the Murmansk region, where Andrei Zvyaguintsev’s cult film Leviathan was shot.

Coshè-infographic-luxury-russian-brand

Svetlana Coshè founded her high-end clothing brand and atelier in 2015. Leather goods abound in her collections. In addition, she also appears as a detail in various garments such as ornaments, dresses, jackets, linen suits, or, for example, a classic trench coat.

The brand also makes expensive bespoke fur coats –a hot item for the Russian cold. He also has his own line of accessories: baseball caps, leather bags, and ties.

Valentin Yudashkin

Valentin Yudashkin -luxury-russian-DESIGENER

The same-named fashion designer established Valentin Yudashkin in Moscow in 1987. His line was first introduced in Paris in 1991, and his Moscow store eventually opened its doors in 1997. The designer has launched jewellery and perfume lines since his inception more than twenty years ago in collaboration with France’s Parour.

The Valentin Yudashkin Fashion House shows its haute-couture collection in Paris twice a year as a member of the Syndicate of High Fashion in Paris. It also takes part in the Russian High Fashion Week in Moscow.

The fashion designer intends to establish a fashion academy and a museum dedicated to costumes in Moscow.

Alena Akhmadullina

designer travel jewellery case

Alena Akhmadullina, a graduate of Russia’s Technology and Design Academy, is a fashion designer from Saint Petersburg.

Her eponymous brand has been showing ready-to-wear at Paris Fashion Week since the autumn of 2005, and opened an office in Moscow in 2007, followed by a concept store in 2008 also in Moscow, on Nikolskaya Street.

Cluev, Jewelry

Cluev Jewelry

Ilya Klyuev founded the jewellery company Cluev, creating one-of-a-kind pieces in Swiss and Italian factories due to his passion for precious stones.

The company has since developed sterling silver signature collections, elegant crystal objects, and home décor items using valuable stones and materials recognized and validated by experts at renowned gemological institutes worldwide.

Gaydamak Jewelry

Gaydamak Jewelry

Gaydamak Jewellery was established by Katia and Sonia Gaydamak, two designers with a passion for exquisite jewellery who was born in Russia and now reside in Paris.

At the American University of Paris, Katia majored in international politics. She nevertheless continued to work in New York City for Daniel K and Jacob & Co., where she decided to pursue a career in design.

Her sister Sonia, who studied in Paris and New York and is passionate about diamonds and gemology, oversees the company’s commercial operations. Distinguished retailers like Luisa Via Roma and Montaigne Market carry their creations.

Yanina Couture

Yanina Couture fashion designer russian

Yanina Couture’s website says, “Fashion enthusiasts travel to Yanina Couture for what Parisians went to the great Dior for in the 1950s – gorgeous dresses enveloped in luxury and devotion.” This line of airily romantic embroidered gowns is also well-liked by Hollywood celebrities.

Designer Yulia Yanina began the fashion brand in 1993 as a simple, modest studio in Saratov.

Yanina loved dressing up the dolls her father brought back from abroad when she was a child. Gigi Hadid, Emma Roberts, Meryem Uzerli (the lead in the Turkish TV series Muhteşem Yüzyl), and dozens of other well-known figures adore her clothes.

Rasario Luxury russian fashion designer

Rasida Lakoba, an Abkhazian native, intended to pursue architecture, but her parents moved her to Moscow to study finance after high school.

After receiving her degree in 2012, she opened her mini-studio, which quickly attracted the attention of Russian celebrities and, after a presentation at Paris Fashion Week in 2016, people worldwide.

“This is evening wear in the most contemporary sense; ours is a very intricate yet laconic cut, so the items don’t seem classic”. Rasida describes her business as always adhering to its DNA, which embodies sexuality, femininity, and aesthetic beauty in an elegant way.

Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande are fans of her sultry bustier gowns, sparkly dresses, crinkled fabric, and open shoulders.

Gosha Rubchinsky

Gosha Rubchinsky Luxury russian fashion designer

With good reason, Rubchinski has come to represent contemporary Russian fashion. The youthful fashion designer popularized the idea of suburban guys. This was so successful that Adidas offered to work with him.

In 2012, Rubchinski caught the eye of the Comme des Garçons brand, who took him in, offering assistance with production and sales and a presence at Paris Fashion Week shows.

In Russia, Rubchinski’s clothing can be found at the KM20  concept store , which, in addition to his characteristic collections, he offers his collaborative designs and perfumes and sells books.

For example, The concept of a new scent developed by the designer in collaboration with Comme des Garçons is the focus of the book Perfume.

Outlaw Moscow

Outlaw Moscow

Even though Outlaw Moscow is just three years old, it has already garnered considerable notice and established itself in Moscow’s clothing markets.

It has established partnerships with the Fakoshima eyewear company and the Farfetch online marketplace and has found a home in the closets of various Russian and foreign celebrities.

The company makes stylish, comfortable clothing with personality and charm that is practical and pleasant to wear daily.

Maxim Bashkaiev and Diliara Minrachmanova developed the brand. By incorporating eclectic aspects into their designs and blending uncommon shapes, colours, and materials, they aim to combine the conventional with the novel.

They also make use of a variety of inscriptions, phrases (such as “strive, flourish,” “love excessively,” etc.), prints, and logos. Moscow’s underworld produces all

Nina Donis

Nina Donis

Nina Nerétina and Donis Pupis, who have collaborated since 2000, founded Nina Donis, the most renowned indie label in Russia.

Nina and Donis produced the most eagerly awaited fashion presentations in Moscow and were named among the most prominent contemporary designers.

They also received glowing reviews from Style.com. They eventually fled to Cyprus after growing weary of the constant media attention.

Today, Nina Donis has created simple but modern collections in great demand both in Russia and abroad. Nina Donis’ strong points are her simple silhouettes, pure colours, and beautiful catalogues.

Her items, which have nothing to do with what you normally see, can be purchased on the KM20 store website.

Anton Lisin

Anton Lisin

Born in Sergiev Posad, a small town on the outskirts of Moscow, Anton Lisin always dreamed of opening his own skate clothing brand.

The fact that he was born in the heart of the Russian Orthodox Church did not make things very easy for him to achieve it. His strong personality focuses on fashion being not just cool clothes but has to be taken as an artistic expression.

Gosha Rubchinskiy’s former model draws his designs from references as disparate as Russian folklore, the Orthodox Church, and black metal’s dark aesthetic. The result is garments with transgressive and daring lines with an almost gothic appearance in which black, white, and red predominate.

Russian Streetwear Brands: Fusion

Fusion streetwear Luxury russian fashion designer

This streetwear brand chooses its   name  because of its firm belief that fashion is a fusion of disparate influences and cultures that can bring together people with like-minded ideals and interests.

Fusion’s collections depict historical images blended with modern designs and powerful colours. For example, in his collection entitled “Berlin Wall.” In another of its collections, “Fusion Lab,” the pharmaceutical world is on par with fashion by experimenting with different materials, shapes, and colours that push the design concept to the limit.

Conclusion

For a good reason, Russian luxury brands are some of the most sought-after in the world. From refined and understated designs to cutting-edge technologies and meticulous craftsmanship, these labels have something for everyone. So, if you want to splurge on unique clothing or accessories, why not try Russian luxury brands? You won’t be disappointed!
