Set in the legendary city during the roaring “jazz hot” 20s, Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail. Nightclub star Velma’s serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together. Driven chorus girl Roxie’s been tossed in the joint for bumping off the lover she’s been cheating on her husband with. Not one to rest on her laurels, Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and slickster lawyer Billy Flynn, who turn Velma’s incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, thus preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback. But Roxie’s got some of her own tricks up her sleeve…

With one great showstopper after the next, John Kander and Fred Ebb’s now-classic score keeps the story moving at a gunshot pace. The scantily-clad dancers tip their bowler hats in tribute to original choreography Bob Fosse, whose moves are still as steamy and sexy today as they were when Chicago first appeared in 1975. Chicago  is 2 hours and 30 minutes long, including one intermission.

Due to some adult themes including language and violence, Chicago may be inappropriate for children under the age of 12. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theater.

The protocol used to be that you would get dressed up to go to the theatre. That is not a requirement, but we always feel it adds to the excitement of the experience. There is no official dress code inside the theatre. Also, keep in mind the Ambassador theatre is air-conditioned, so it's nice and cool in the summer and comfortable in the winter.

There are concession stands located on each level of the Ambassador theatre that sell water, soda, alcoholic beverages and snacks. You can even pre-order your intermission drinks before the show starts. However, only bottled water is allowed at your seat.

Yes! There are merchandise kiosks inside the theatre where you can buy Chicago  shirts, the cast recording and many other fun items.

Stairs are located on both the left and right sides of the Ambassador theatre. There are approximately 26 steps to these additional restrooms. You can access both the men’s and women’s bathrooms by walking up either side’s staircase. To get to mezzanine seats, there are approx. 34 steps from the entrance of the theatre.

Bianca Marroquín started her artistic career in Mexico City in productions of Disney’s  Beauty and the Beast ,  Rent ,  Phantom of the Opera ,  Vagina Monologues  and  Chicago . In 2002, Bianca made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart and later kicked off  Chicago ’s third national tour, winning a Helen Hayes Award. Other Broadway credits: Daniela in  In the Heights ; Carmen in  The Pajama Game . Her regional work includes  And the World Goes Round  at Barrington Stage Company (woman #3) and  Bye Bye Birdie  at North Shore Music Theatre (Rose Alvarez, IRNE Award for Best Actress in a musical). Ariana Madix will return to the Ambassador Theatre this summer for another round of all that jazz.

Madix, the reality TV personality who has appeared in “Vanderpump Rules,” and “Love Island Games” will pick up where she left off as the main character in Broadway’s “ Chicago .” Madix initially made her Broadway debut in January as Roxie Hart. She played the main character for a 10-week run, which ended on April 7. It was a sold-out success and broke box-office records for four weeks. She is set to return for one month where she will reprise the role from August 1 through August 27.

The musical originally opened on Broadway on June 3, 1975, and it was revived on Nov. 14, 1996. Directed by Walter Bobbie, and produced by Barry and Fran Weissler “Chicago” has won six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and won a Grammy for Best Musical Cast Recording.

When Madix was first cast as Hart, the news came after Madix’s real life was in the headlines with the scandal labeled #Scandoval. This was because Madix caught her then-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, cheating on her with “Vanderpump Rules” co-star and friend Raquel Leviss.

However, Madix is living out her dream. She moved to New York, N.Y., after graduating from Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Fla., to be on Broadway, Madix told Glamour Magazine .

Live Nation's $25 concert week ticket sale is next week. Here's a list of Chicago shows.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Live Nation is slashing ticket prices for one week only. In celebration of the 10th annual Concert Week , the company is dropping ticket prices for 5,000 shows around the world to just $25.

The price won't be a flat $25 as taxes and fees will still apply depending on the venue and location of the show, the company said. 

The discounted tickets will hit the market on Wednesday, May 8 for the general public. T-Mobile and Royal Bank of Canada customers and Rakuten members will get access a day early.

• 6/11 – Sara McLachlan at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.
• 6/15 – New Kids On The Block at  Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.
• 6/29 Santana at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.
• 7/9 Niall Horan at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.
• 7/19 – Grupo Firme at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.
• 7/26 and 7/27 – Vampire Weekend at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.
• 8/25 Luke Bryan at Wrigley Field.
• 9/7 Outlaw Music Festival ft. Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and John Mellencamp at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.

The Met Gala , held each year in the evening on the first Monday in May, officers celebrities the most prestigious of red-carpeted runways to showcase the glamorous, and sometimes peculiar work of renowned costume designers.

Last year's highlight was Rihanna making a very fashionably late entrance wearing a Valentino gown with giant white flowers that covered her torso and baby bump, and a cape that blanketed many of the famed Met steps.  

The extravagant black-tie affair brings out the most unusual of outfits and accessories. It's where Doja Cat dressed as an actual cat , where Jared Leto held a lifelike replica of his own head, and where Katy Perry once showed up as a cheeseburger and another year wore angel wings that were so large she had to arrive in a convertible.

It's where attendees abide by a themed dress code, and flashbulbs light the room and money is raised for a related cause.

The 2024 Met Gala is on Monday, May 6. Guest arrivals are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET.

The first Met Gala was held in December of 1948 at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. The event was a midnight dinner that cost $50 to attend, according to TIME .

The hosts of the 2024 Met Gala will be Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez and Zendaya. Last year's hosts were Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Anna Wintour.

What is the Met Gala theme?

The 2024 Met Gala is called “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” which is the name of the Costume Institute’s spring 2024 exhibition. The exhibition will be based on unique garments from four centuries ago that will be reborn for those who see them.

The "sleeping beauties" are actually treasured and extremely fragile garments in the museum’s collection that will be on display in a series of galleries.

What is the Met Gala dress code?

The dress code for the 2024 Met Gala is "The Garden of Time" -- which is inspired by J.G. Ballard's 1962 short story that features the beauty and eventual destruction of a garden of flowers.

Last year's dress code was "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," which was a tribute to the late German designer.

Charli XCX Plots 2024 International ‘BRAT' Tour Dates

Charli XCX announced the international dates for her 2024 Brat tour on Monday (March 25), which will be a mix of live concerts and what she's dubbed "partygirl" events. The run will kick off with a set at Primavera Sound Barcelona on June 1, followed by shows in London, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Mexico City before winding down on June 22 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Just hours after announcing the dates, the singer noted on Instagram that all the shows were already sold out .

At press time Charli had not yet announced the release date for BRAT , her sixth full-length album, though she did recently reveal that it is out this summer, contains 15 songs and is 41:23 long. The follow-up to her 2022 album Crash has been advanced by the uptempo first single, "Von Dutch."

Speaking to Billboard at this year's 2024 Women in Music event, Charli said that BRAT is a club record meant to evoke the illegal London rave scene of the early 2000s where she started performing as a 14 and 15-year-old, produced from a tight collection of sounds to create "this unique minimalism that is very loud and bold."

She also said that the album is "very direct" eschewing "metaphor and flowery lyricism" for language that is closer to the way she talks to her friends in text messages. "This record is all the things I would talk about with my friends, said exactly how I would say them. It's in ways very aggressive and confrontational, but also very conversational and personal," she said. "And not in that boring way where artists are like, ‘This is my most personal record.' To me, it feels like listening to a conversation with a friend.
