The Tour of Britain has evolved into one of the toughest cycling races in the world, attracting some of the sport's biggest stars. This year, all eyes will be on 23-year-old Tom Pidcock (INEOS Grenadiers). Having won Olympic gold in Tokyo and won a stage at this year's Tour de France, he's expected to leave his mark on the 2022 Tour of Britain too.

The race started in Aberdeen, Scotland, before snaking its way down to Hawick, crossing the border into Durham and taking in Redcar. Stage 5 – the longest ride of the 2022 Tour de Britain – kicks off in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. Stage 6 rolls through Gloucestershire and features three sprints. Stage 7 starts in West Bay on the English coast, and will test the riders with two brutal climbs: Whiteways Hill and Okeford Hill.

The finale stage – stage 8 – takes place on the Isle of White. It's a 148.9km run from Ryde to The Needles, culminating in a final climb with a gradient of 9.6 percent, making it one of the hardest climbs of any Tour of Britain.

Cycling fans in the UK can watch every moment of the race free on ITV4 - the channel will broadcast all eight stages live from start to finish. Make sure you know how to watch a free 2022 Tour of Britain live stream from anywhere in the world. Instructions just below.

Watch the 2022 Tour of Britain live stream from abroad using a VPN

Even if you have subscribed to the relevant 2022 Tour of Britain rights holders, you won't be able to access them when outside your own country. The service will know your location based on your IP address, and will automatically block your access.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) helps you get around this obstacle. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, such that the servers and services you’re accessing aren’t aware of what you’re doing. All the information passing back and forth is entirely encrypted.

There are lots of VPN providers but some are more reliable and safe than others. As a rule, we suggest a paid-for service such as ExpressVPN which offers a 100 per cent risk-free money back guarantee. If you're not happy with the service any time within the first 30-days, then you can cancel with no penalties at all.

Try ExpressVPN risk-free for 30 days

Try ExpressVPN risk-free for 30 days ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money back guarantee with its VPN service. You can use it to watch on your mobile, tablet, laptop, TV, games console and more. The race has returned with fresh vigour after its cancellation last year, with the route providing plenty of firsts, including debuts for Cornwall, Hawick and Aberdeen, and Wales hosts two complete stages for the first time too.

And the first of these is particularly exciting: a rare team time trial. We haven't been able to watch many of these lately, and the 18.2-kilometre route from Llandeilo to the National Botanic Garden of Wales is just the second TTT to feature in the modern Tour of Britain.

The Queen stage follows, taking the riders up past Coed y Brenin Forest Park and Snowdonia National Park, all the way to the summit of the Great Orme in Llandudno, a brutal climb that rewards its conquerors with stunning views of the north coast of Wales.

One of the top cycling events in the United Kingdom has to be the Tour of Britain. It may be United Kingdom’s version of Tour de France, but there is more to it. Since it is a revamp in 2004, the Tour of Britain has enjoyed growing popularity amongst the masses. It is not surprising that broadcasters are facing intense competition to secure rights for Tour of Britain TV coverage.

ITV will be the broadcasters for the Tour of Britain 2024. The route for this race was unveiled back in February. ITV4 will be broadcasting the Tour of Britain live three hours per day while a highlights program lasting one hour is also on the cards.

Aside from being available on ITV4, subscribers will also be able to catch the action through the ITV player even after 30 days. Residents in the United Kingdom will be able to catch the action live on Sky channel 464, Freesat channel 251, and Virgin Media channel 552. These options are applicable only for the UK residents. tour of britain live itv4

Get set for three intense weeks of calf-shredding climbs and nail-biting sprints as the world's best riders take on the 111th Tour de France.

The first four stages of this year's race all begin in Italy, while there's a huge break with tradition with the final stage taking place in Nice rather than Paris for the first time ever due to the Olympic and Paralympic Games being held in the French capital.

Defending champion Jonas Vingegaard is joined by fellow yellow jersey frontrunners Tadej Pogacar, Primoz Roglic, Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel on one of the strongest start lists of recent years.

Below, we'll outline the best  live TV streaming services  to use to watch the the Tour de France live wherever you are in the world.

Tour de France 2024: Where and when is it?

The Tour de France begins with Stage 1 in Florence on Saturday, June 29, and ends with a tradition-breaking passage from Monaco to Nice on Sunday, July 21.

A full schedule for this year's event can be found below.

How to watch the Tour de France online from anywhere using a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view the Tour locally, you may need a different way to watch the world's greatest cyclists -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on race day by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our  Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick  for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It's normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100 you'll get three months free and save 49%. That's the equivalent of $6.67 a month with code  SPECIALDEAL , which should be automatically applied.

Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Quick tips for streaming Tour de France 2024 using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming the Tour de France live may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble getting the game after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

Britain's Got Talent champion Sydnie Christmas has excitedly announced her first UK tour, describing it as another "pinch me" moment in her burgeoning career.

Having wowed the judges on the ITV talent show, where Simon Cowell rated one of her performances an "11 out of 10", Sydnie is set to release her rendition of the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic 'Starlight Express' later this month.

The song's release was prompted by none other than Lloyd Webber himself after he came across her cover on Instagram and encouraged her to make a record of it. Reflecting on this encouragement, Sydnie shared her elation: "I was in Starlight Express in Germany for years and it was such a huge part of my life. The song 'Starlight Express' means hope and light. I felt drawn to its meaning and the song resonated with me. I just had to record my own version, and Andrew Lloyd Webber told me I should release it. I can't believe it."

She continued, expressing the significance of this moment: "It's such a full circle moment. But every moment is a pinch me moment. I'm getting to live my dreams, I'm just the luckiest girl."

Sydnie, who is gearing up to release her new album 'My Way' in September and will hit the road starting October 5, captured the hearts of both the Britain's Got Talent judges and viewers with her enchanting acts, reports the Mirror .

Reflecting on her journey, Sydnie recounted her perseverance in the face of adversity: "After 10 years of trying to make it in the West End and feeling like nothing was happening, I was very close to giving it all up. But I couldn't, it means everything to me, and I am so glad I kept going."

The competition will see more than 100 cyclists visit 14 towns and villages across Dorset with residents and tourists encouraged to line the streets and cheer on the cyclists.

Here is everything you need to know about the event and how you can watch the competition.

What is the race route?

Stage seven is due to start from West Bay’s Esplanade at 11am on Saturday, September 10. The 109-mile stage will see cyclists ride past the famous golden cliffs of West Bay near Bridport and travel on the Coast Road and through Weymouth, Dorchester , West Lulworth and Corfe Castle before heading inland.

Riders will also take in the beautiful views of Dorset's rolling countryside cycling towards Wareham, Milton Abbas and Wimborne Minster. Whiteway Hill, near East Lulworth, Bulbarrow Hill and Okeford Hill will all feature along the route, before concluding at Ferndown’s Victoria Road. The prestigious event will be broadcast on TV to a huge audience showing our stunning county.

The event is expected to finish on Victoria Road in the centre of Ferndown between 3.01pm and 3.51pm.

When and where are the sprint races?

Three ŠKODA King of the Mountains climbs will also see riders battle for points towards the climbers’ jersey with all three falling within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The first at Daggers Gate above West Lulworth, is close to the world-famous limestone arch at Durdle Door, while the second, Whiteways Hill, sits on a ridge above the famous ‘ghost’ village of Tyneham with spectacular views in all directions. The final ŠKODA King of the Mountains climb of the stage is Okeford Hill with 55 kilometres of racing to go.

What are the approximate timings?

Stage 7 route map for the 2022 Tour of Britain through Dorset

The estimated timings of when the race will pass through the larger towns and villages are as follows:

  • West Bay – The Esplanade: 11am
  • Burton Bradstock: 11.15am
  • Abbotsbury: 11.26am
  • Chickerell: 11.38am
  • Weymouth : 11.41am
  • Dorchester : 12.06pm
  • West Lulworth: 12.33pm
  • Corfe Castle: 12.54pm
  • Wareham : 1.02pm
  • Bere Regis: 1.18pm
  • Blandford Forum: 2.04pm
  • Wimborne Minster: 2.24pm
  • Verwood: 2.45pm
  • Victoria Road - Ferndown: 3pm

What road closures will be in place?

Dorset Council has confirmed that a rolling road closure will be enforced on the stage route. This means roads on and around the race route will be closed to traffic by Police escort vehicles.

Closures will be in place for approximately 30 minutes to allow the race to pass safely. To make sure the route is safe for the public and competitors, additional areas have been identified that will be closed slightly longer in duration to the main rolling closure such as West Bay and Ferndown .

Motorists are being advised that if they may wish to travel to these areas using alternate means, such as cycling or public transport, as parking will be restricted. Timings of road closures and alternative routes will be published on the Dorset Council website closer to the event.

What to do if you want to watch the race

People are encouraged to watch beside the route or gather at the start point at West Bay or finish point at Ferndown. The Team Paddock at the start line will allow racegoers to get autographs and photographs, as well as see the latest bike equipment.

The route is marked with yellow advanced warning signs in the run-up to the Tour of Britain and people are warned not to park on the route on the day. Vehicles may have to be removed if necessary.

Spectators are also being advised to stay away from the road in order to remain safe. A spokesman for Dorset Council said: "Please keep children back from the edge of the road and put animals on a lead, away from the roadside.

"Riders pass by very fast, and while we encourage support, please keep flags, objects and photography equipment out of the road. Remember, taking selfies is fun, but turning your back on the race is never a good idea. Please face the oncoming riders and race convoy at all times."

The Tour of Britain is escorted along the route by trained police officers and escort motorcyclists. If you are asked to stop by an officer, please listen carefully and obey their instructions.

How can I watch Tour of Britain on TV?

The Tour of Britain will be taking in a number of sites around Dorset

ITV4 will continue to broadcast live flag-to-flag coverage of every stage and nightly highlights show, allowing fans in the UK to watch wherever they are. The race will also be shown in over 150 countries worldwide, thanks to the event's partnerships with Eurosport and the Global Cycling Network.

Mick Bennett, Tour of Britain race director, has said that not only will cyclists be able to take in the wonderful views, but the terrain will be a good challenge for the cyclists. "The eyes of the cycling world will be on Dorset come Saturday, September 10 and I know that both the world-class riders competing and the huge TV audience the Tour of Britain attracts will be blown away by the sheer beauty of the county.

"But more than that, the challenging terrain will make for a thrilling day of racing, with the battle for the stage victory in Ferndown likely to be fierce!"

Sydnie Christmas ‘still on the day job’s rota’ despite winning Britain’s Got Talent

The singer has an album coming and has also announced a tour.

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

What did you miss?

Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas has revealed that she is "still on the rota" at her job at a gym.

The 29-year-old singer worked as a receptionist at a gym while she struggled to get her big break. She was crowned the winner of the ITV talent show in June, pocketing the £250,000 prize and winning both a spot at the Royal Variety Performance and a shot at a music career.

But it seems that amid all the excitement, Christmas forgot to quit her day job.

What, how and why?

She told The Sun : “I did my audition and went back to work in the gym. Funnily enough, I am still on the rota. I need to go in for a meeting and say I definitely can’t work now," she added.

Christmas's life looks set to change after she went on the ITV talent show, as she is now set to release an album called My Way. She has also announced that she is hitting the road for a tour.

Sharing the news on Instagram , she wrote: "I’M GOING ON TOUR!!! I can’t believe I’m saying this (what is my life ASSSS IFFFFFF) but I am SO excited to announce I’m going on TOUR this October!

"I will be visiting many venues across the UK and I would LOVE to see you there! Tickets go on sale on Friday 12th at 10am via cuffeandtaylor.com and sydniechristmas.london - except Canterbury which will be on sale soon."

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sydnie Christmas (@sydniechristmas)

"THERE’S MORE!!!!" she went on. "If you pre-order my debut album you can get access to exclusive pre-sale tickets next Tuesday at 10am!"

"Dreams really do come true," she wrote, adding: "LETS AV IT."

Sydnie Christmas thought career was down the pan' before show

Christmas previously admitted that she thought her career was "going down the pan" before she made it on Britain's Got Talent. She had been trying to make it in the West End for a long time before impressing the show's judges Simon Cowell , Amanda Holden , Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli with her powerful vocals.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning before she won the show, she said that on New Year's Eve this year she "thought my career was going down the pan".

Explaining why she thought it had been so hard to get her break, she said: "There are so many of us trying to go for one role. There are not many musicals are there? We are all trying to be the princess to the prince I suppose, and someone like me doesn’t really fit that part."
