Abu Dhabi Toll Gate Locations, Timing & Cost: Here’s How DARB Works

After a few delays over COVID, the Abu Dhabi toll gate system DARB was finally introduced in January 2021.

There can be some confusion about how the tolls work in Abu Dhabi, particularly for new visitors to the UAE and day trippers from Dubai who may not realise that there is a different toll system in the capital, nor when tolls apply.

Here to help cut any confusion, we’ll explain everything you need to know about DARB and road tolls in the capital.

Where are DARB toll gates in Abu Dhabi located?

When are darb gates in abu dhabi operational, abu dhabi toll gate exemptions, fines for using toll roads unregistered, rental vehicles in the uae, privately owned vehicles, what are darb toll gates in abu dhabi.

Toll gates in Abu Dhabi operate during peak hours on 4 key designated routes into and out of the city. They automatically identify the registration plate of your vehicle to charge you a toll each time you cross a designated point.

Abu Dhabi’s toll gates are found in 4 locations, all bridges that lead onto the main Abu Dhabi island; you’ll find them on:

  • Sheikh Zayed Bridge
  • Mussafah Bridge
  • Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Bridge
  • Al Maqtaa Bridge

They operate in both directions, both on and off Abu Dhabi island.

Where are the toll gates in Abu Dhabi? a Google Map showing exactly where the toll gates are located

Toll Gates in Abu Dhabi do not run 24 hours a day. Since the change to weekends in the UAE, the toll gates now operate only during peak periods, Monday through Saturday:

  • Mornings 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
  • Evenings 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

No tolls are levied on Sundays or Public Holidays.

During Ramadan , DARB tolls are operational six days a week:

  • Mornings 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Afternoons 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

What Do Road Tolls Cost in Abu Dhabi?

Every time you pass under a DARB toll gate during operational hours, you are charged AED 4, up to a maximum of AED 16 per day.

For regular users, the cap on Abu Dhabi tolls is AED 200 per month for your first car, AED 150 for a second car, and AED 100 for subsequent vehicles.

A Darb toll gate in Abu Dhabi on Sheikh Zayed Bridge

There are exemptions for People of Determination, Senior Citizens, and low-income Emiratis. These exemptions must be applied for.

Automatically exempt are motorcycles, taxis, school buses, public transport buses, emergency services vehicles, and passenger buses greater than 26 passengers.

Unregistered vehicles passing under DARB tolls will be fined:

  • AED 100 from the first day
  • AED 200 from the second day
  • AED 400 for the third day and beyond

Fines are also issued for vehicles with insufficient balance in their DARB account (without Abu Dhabi plates), after 5 working days at AED 50 per day.

How Do I Register My Car For Abu Dhabi Tolls?

The good news if you are only renting a car in Abu Dhabi or from anywhere in the UAE, including Dubai, your car rental company is obliged to register the vehicle; there is nothing further for you to do as the renter.

However, you must be aware when you have driven under the toll gates during operational hours, as your rental company will invoice you or debit your account at the conclusion of your rental (plus, most likely, an administrative fee).

If you own your own vehicle in any Emirate of the UAE, you will need to register your vehicle with DARB, or risk a fine.

You can register your vehicle on DARB here .

As part of the registration process, you must pe-load a balance on your account – your ewallet.

You will need to have a resident visa and Emirates ID in order to register (and own) a vehicle and provide a traffic file number.

You can manage your account through the DARB mobile App ( Google | App Store )

More FAQs on Abu Dhabi Road Tolls

No, it’s very important to note that DARB is entirely separate from Salik in Dubai . You do not need a sticker or any sort of system in your car; it is all charged by pre-registration of your vehicle on the DARB system.

Any issues with registration should be directed to DARB customer service center 800 850 (English and Arabic)

Unlike Salik in Dubai, DARB tolls in Abu Dhabi do not need a physical sticker on your windscreen or any other device in your vehicle; it works automatically off number plate recognition.

This will depend on the road you are travelling on, either 100km/hr or 120km/hr as signposted. Do not slow down to pass under the toll gates; there is no stopping you should maintain speed with the traffic, everything will happen automatically.

Yes, DARB now has the functionality to pay your MAWAQIF fees for parking in Abu Dhabi, using the available balance in your e-wallet.

We hope this Abu Dhabi toll guide will help you confidentially drive to the capital and understand what tolls you may be liable for if you’re traveling at peak times of the day.

Remember, if you time your trip to Abu Dhabi for the middle of the day and avoid peak-hour traffic in the capital, there will be nothing further to pay other than your vehicle rental and fuel – well worth considering if you’re hiring a car to day trip to Abu Dhabi from Dubai .

gate 1 travel dubai and abu dhabi 2022

The best flights to Abu Dhabi & Dubai for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024, plus advice on getting to Yas Marina Circuit.

It always pays to book your race tickets, accommodation and flights well in advance for Abu Dhabi. Capacity is limited at Yas Marina and the event does sell out. Luckily, Yas Marina is well served by airports in both Abu Dhabi and nearby Dubai, both of which are major international hubs serving a range of airlines and multiple worldwide destinations. Race transport is well organised at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which is good news since Yas Island is actually 35 kilometres from the center of Abui Dhabi. Taxis are relatively cheap and mostly plentiful in Abu Dhabi. Local buses are also available for those on a tighter budget.

Closest Airports to Yas Marina Circuit

Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) : located around 30km from the city centre and just 10km from Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi Airport is the logical place to fly into for the Grand Prix this November. This growing hub is home to Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the UAE and also the title sponsor of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In total, more than 40 airlines offer flights to Abu Dhabi from more than 90 destinations as far afield as North America and Australia.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) : don’t discount flying into Dubai, just 120km from the center of Abu Dhabi and 95km from Yas Marina. The world’s fourth largest airport by passenger numbers is home to Emirates, a fast growing international airline with a great reputation and a huge fleet of modern aircraft serving destinations all around the world.

Abu Dhabi Airport to the City

Taxi : The journey from the airport to the city takes about 40 minutes and costs around 70-80 AED (approx. $20 USD). Al Ghazal taxis (tel: +971 2 600535353) is Abu Dhabi’s most reputable taxi service. It’s even cheaper to get from the airport to Yas Marina, which is just 10km away. Metered taxis are also available at the airport, and should cost the same as an Al Ghazal taxi. Find the taxi rank by turning left out of the arrivals area and following a long passageway to a covered platform next to the taxi stand.

Bus : Bus 490 runs to and from the city every 40 minutes, all day and all night, for a bargain 4 AED ($1 USD). It departs from outside Terminal 3. The Etihad Express – a complimentary shuttle service for Etihad passengers travelling on to Dubai – uses the same bus stop as the public bus.

How to Get to Yas Marina Circuit

  • Yas Island is inundated with taxis and ride sharing cars on race weekend. A trip from the center of Abu Dhabi to Yas Island should cost in the region of 70 AED each way (around €15), and can take you directly to the entrance gate in the morning. Free shuttle buses ferry racegoers out of the Marina and to nearby car parks full of taxis after the event.
  • The best place to catch a taxi home after the Yasalam concerts at Etihad Park is near the entrance to Ferrari World and Yas Mall, a short walk from the exit of the open-air concert venue.
  • Bus number 190 runs from the Abu Dhabi bus terminal in the city centre of Abu Dhabi to Yas Island. Additional buses operate from the city’s suburbs to Yas Marina.
  • Buses also run on Yas Island itself, since it’s around 2.5km from the South Grandstand to the Etihad Arena (more details on Yas Express ).
  • Several hotels operate their own complimentary shuttle service for guests visiting the Grand Prix. Parking can be pre-booked for Yas Island Marina, but permits are limited (one per three ticketholders) to encourage car sharing and limit congestion.
  • Click here for a 360 tour of Yas Island.

Getting Around in Abu Dhabi

  • Taxi : Travel by cab is cheap and plentiful in Abu Dhabi. Silver taxis can be flagged down anywhere in Abu Dhabi and fares start at 3.50 AED (less than $1 USD). Available taxis show an illuminated light in the middle of the sign on their roof.
  • Uber: Ride sharing with Uber is also available in Abu Dhabi.
  • Bus : The Abu Dhabi bus terminal (pictured above) is found on Hazaa Bin Zayed Road. Buses depart here for destinations all over the city as well further afield into other cities, like Dubai. You can also pick up inter-emirate taxis at the bus station. The public bus fare system is nice and simple: 2 AED ($0.50 USD) for a single trip within the city or 4 AED ($1 USD) for a single trip on a regional bus.

Dubai to Abu Dhabi & Yas Marina

  • Taxi: From Dubai airport, a metered airport taxi to Abu Dhabi will set you back around 250-300 AED (approx $70-80 USD) and takes around 90 minutes. Emirates Express buses also depart from the airport bound for Abu Dhabi too.
  • Car : It should take you around 90-120 minute to drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Some tickets also include trackside parking, or you can park at Yas Mall, behind Ferrari World, for free.
  • Bus : From the center of Dubai, regular buses depart Al Ghubaiba Bus Station for the main Abu Dhabi Bus Station. The trip takes around 2 hours and costs 25 AED ($6.80 USD) each way. From the Abu Dhabi bus station, you can take the 190 bus to Yas Marina.
  • Share Taxi/Uber : In response to demand from fans interested in sharing taxis from Dubai to Yas Marina, we’ve set up a dedicated Facebook group so you can more easily connect and organize shared trips to the circuit. Click here to join the group

From Dubai Airport

A metered airport taxi will cost about 30 Dirhams (€6.40) from Dubai International Airport to Abu Dhabi. Emirates Express buses depart from Dubai’s bus stations bound for Abu Dhabi too.

Where did I find these taxis!

Thanks for pointing out this error. We have updated this section with the correct cost of a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, which is more like 300 dirhams / 60 euro.

Is there any transport we can book from Dubai to get to Abu Dhabi for the Race? For example special coaches or buses company’s we can book?

Hi Terry, will look into this for you. How many people? My friend and I will need transport too on Friday from Dubai to Yas Marina and back.

I too will be travelling from Dubai to Yas Marina on Friday so interested to hear what the options are please? thanks Andy

Hi Andrew, I know this is super super late, but if you have anyone else’s contact info who might be keen to share a cab from Dubai to the circuit on Saturday arvo, and back again Sunday night after the concert…it would be greatly appreciated! You have my email address, and I’ll put my bst whatsapp contact number in the website section. Thanks!

I am also staying in Dubai for the Grand Prix with my wife and would be happy to share taxi or minibus with others for the Sunday and possibly the Saturday. I know there are regular buses from Dubai to Abu Dhabi so was going to use either the E100 or E101.

Hi Steven, We are a couple also. Might be a good idea to connect and share the ride. Dubai to Yas on Sunday.

Me and My son will be doing the same

If anyone wants to share a bud do let me know how we get a large taxi as there are already 6 if us. How does the Emirates express work?

I suggest you join our Facebook group .

I’ll also be traveling from Dubai Thu – Sun each day so it would be great to get some advice and potentially share a taxi/bus!

Hi I’m looking to share a taxi or bus to and am looking to travel to the f1 from Dubai Saturday and Sunday

Hey guys, I’m with a friend and also needing to get from Dubai to the track on Saturday, then the track back to Dubai on Sunday. Anyone keen to share?

What is the best means of transport from The Royal Rose Hotel in Abu Dhabi to YAS MARINA circuit

Happy to share with others for Friday 25th November from Dubai to Yas Marina and return if anyone has ideas or spare seats for 2 adults Thanks Andy

Andy, are you going Thursday also? There are two of us.. taxi? Cheers, Lesley

Hi Leslie, I will connect you and Andy via email. Cheers, Andrew Balfour

Is there any transportation available from Dubai to Abu Dhabi specifically for Grand Prix , interested in any buses / transport / sharing, there are 2 adults. Many Thanks

As discussed, there are no specific buses from Dubai to Yas Marina (only to Abu Dhabi, and then you need to get to the track). I will connect everyone who has asked in an email – perhaps you can work it out amongst yourselves to split cabs. Good luck and don’t forget to agree a pick up point and time with your taxi driver to get you home at the end of the night, especially if you are staying for the concerts (which finish fairly late)

Hi there my brother is here and would like to join in on the transport on Sunday do you have space for one more? Kind regards Michele

Me! Please on Sunday

Hello! We are coming in from Los Angeles. We could share a cab from Dubai to Yas for Sunday. If anyone is interested please connect.

Hi Arek, I have just emailed everyone who has asked about sharing taxis from Dubai to Yas Marina next weekend. Feel free to self organize!

I am interested in this also as travelling down from Dubai to meet friends at the track.

Im interested

Would be nice to hear from anyone willing to share Taxi on Sunday, we are mature couple staying in Marina area of Dubai and looking to stay for concert or part thereof.

Hi Rupert, I’ve shared contact details with you of people interested in sharing taxis from Dubai to Yas Marina next weekend.

Hi there We are travelling on Sunday to Grand Prix and would love to share taxi We are staying Dubai Marina

I am staying at the marina too and would love to grab transport with someone

Hi Rupert ,

We are staying in the marina As well and have consort tickets too. Would you be interested in sharing a taxi ?

I’m seeing conflicting information, is there or is there not a Shuttle service from Shahama (park and ride) ? It appears to me that if traveling by Bus from Dubai Shahama would be a better option than Abu Dhabi Bus station

Pretty sure that you will be able to get from Shahama to Yas Marina pretty easily Rupert (it’s very close), but I cannot confirm on the shuttle. My experience last year is that it took us around 1 hour longer to get to the circuit by NOT getting off at Shahama. It was another 20 minutes into Abu Dhabi, 20 minutes waiting for a bus and then 20 minutes to get back to the circuit.

Andrew, are you saying that had you got off at Shahama you might have saved yourself an Hour ? the official Ask YAS app quotes:

Shahama Park & Ride This is the service for secondary off-island car park & ride location, it services Abu Dhabi hill spectators as well as other ticket holders who do not have a car parking permit for any yas island parking areas

Yes, that’s what I am saying Rupert. Check Google Maps. The bus from Dubai stops at Shahama, which is about 15km before Yas Marina. It will then go past the circuit and drive for another 40km to the bus station in Abu Dhabi. You’ll then need to return that 40km in another bus…

We would also like to share a taxi or minibuss from Dubai Marina to Yas Marina both saturday and sunday.

kindly recommend where i can share cab from ibn batuta station to yas marina circut

Hi will be in Dubai/Abu Dhabi Nov 2017, would love to see race on Sunday, can someone recommend the best ticket/area for viewing and value. Not rich but happy to pay a bit extra for the best value.

Hi Peter, tickets for 2017 are not yet on sale (they should be in April). Normally, tickets are sold for 2 or 3 days (two days being the weekend). The consensus is that the West grandstand is the best. More info here .

We are in Dubai for the Grand Prix this year and wondered if all the people meeting up to split taxis etc actually worked it out as would be looking at doing something similar?

Hi Kirsty, I will email a few people who asked and let you know. For this year, I’ll set up a Group on Facebook to make it easier to connect.

What is the FB Group called please so that I can join? My husband and I will also be travelling between Dubai and Abu Dhabi daily possibly from Thurs through to Sunday so would also appreciate sharing the taxi cost with other travellers.

Hi Kate, I’ve not set it up yet, but will let you know when I do!

Our cruise ship will be in Abu Dhabi for the Grand Prix. They have an excursion to the race but it quite costly and only for the Sunday. As we will be there Saturday and Sunday I thought doing it independently would be a good idea, but with the cruise ship leaving at 20.30 I’m worried that I will miss the ship. How long does it take to get to the Cruise Terminal considering the traffic after the race and are there a number of taxi’s available after the race? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you

Myself and a friend will be in Dubai over the race weekend and would be looking to share taxi to/from the circuit on the Sunday. Can you let me know if you are setting up the FB page as this would be ideal. Thanks

Hi Steven, I’ve created the Group. You can access it here or search for “Going to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix” in Facebook groups.

Hi, can’t seem to find the Facebook page by searching for ‘Going to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix’ Is it still there? Thanks

Hi Linda, you need to search for this in Groups. Here’s the link again: Going to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Hi I will be travelling from Dubai to Yas Marina circuit for the Formula Yas 3000 drving experinece, on the 21 Sept2017. I have booked the 11.30am slot, so what would be the latest time I need to start from Dubai if I were to catch a taxi and how much does it cost. What is the exact location I need to get down. Do you have any shuttle services from Dubai to Abu Dhabi Thanks

Wow, that sounds like a cool experience! Taxi cost and travel time is in this post above, you need around 2 hours to get there. Ask your hotel if you are not sure, they can arrange the transfer for you.

Hi Andrew just wanted to say great work and thank you for the information. I ll be in Dubai for business during the race and definitely looking at going to the race. I too am hoping to share a taxi or arrangements to and back from Dubai

Hi Han, thanks! Please join the Facebook group and you will be able to organize a trip to the circuit from Dubai.

Hi i would also like to share transport over the f1 weekend from Dubai. I am not on social media.does any1 have a ideas about how i would go about sorting transport thanks

Hello everyone. I have the 3day tickets to the Abu Dhabi grand prix. I received parking tickets for the 3 days but I am flying to Abu Dhabi for the race. We will be staying at a hotel in Abu Dhabi. Is anyone interested in using their vehicle and we are willing to share the costs and also can use the parking tickets. We are 2 adults.

Hi, I m living in AD city center and wonder what is the most convenient way to reach the circuit during GP days? My car, taxi, bus? Appreciate your recommendation. Thx.

It depends on how much you want to spend and how long it will take to get there. Driving yourself is probably easiest, but only if you have already got parking with your tickets. Otherwise, I am not sure – perhaps you can park at the Yas Mall? Otherwise, you could use the Park and Ride service from Shahama. Taxi/Uber is quick but more expensive, whilst bus is cheap but will take longer.

We need a ride from Dubai to Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning 26th of November 2017. We are two persons. Anyone can help? Thank you Sandrine

Hi Sandrine, I suggest you join our Facebook group for sharing rides at Abu Dhabi GP, then post your request. You can join here

Hopefully I am not late . Looking for a ride for Saturday and Sunday ..

From dubai Option if you are staying next metro station. Take metro to ibn batuta bus station, board bus to abu dhabi. The bus first stop is called al shama, get off the take a taxi of about 40dihms to the circuit Option 2 At ibn batuta bus station at taxis stage, there are shared cabs to Abu dhabi however on the luck day you could find some passingers heading to f1 implying the shared taxi will take you straight to f1 circuit at 40dihms. Otherwise it will drop you at mall then take a cab of around 32 dihms The return journey from circuit became tricky especially if you are travelling alone, shared taxis seems to be an conventional so I had to spend roughly 180 dihms back to tecom Overall I do recommend travelling as a group if you have plans of staying in dubai, it makes transport to f1 abu dhabi less complicated and reduces the cost by more than three quarters

Thanks for the advice!

This is Darshan here. I am a freelance media rep and I should be traveling for the Abu Dhabi GP from Thus to Sun and also the two-day test on Nov 27-28 for the 2018 event. I am yet to book in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai – I am looking for both shared hotel and also mode of transport. If anyone is yet to do so, please connect. Just a caution: Since I go by the media pass, my timings are different considering I come in early and leave slightly later than the fans. Thanks.

Hi looking to go this year need advise on reasonable places to stay and then how to get the race on sat and sun…appreciate any advice..thanks

Best to stay in the centre of Abu Dhabi, near the Corniche. You can get public bus to the circuit, or taxi which is quite cheap. Traffic is not a problem. You could also hire a car for the weekend.

I am trying to get from the Dubai cruise terminal to Abu dhabi then the the track on the Friday. There will be two of us with a fair bit of stuff so I thought the public bus might be a no go?

The public bus will certainly be cheaper, but will take a lot longer and be a pain with carrying your luggage around. I’d personally just pay extra for a taxi or hire car.

We are two people who will travel from Dubai (specifically Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel at the Palm) Saturday morning early to get to Yas Marina Circuit before the Practice 3 and Qualification and then return to Dubai Sunday evening. If you are two people going from Dubai to Yas M and these times suit, please get in touch and we would happily find a taxi to share. If more people we can try and get a large taxi :)

I suggest joining our group here and asking your question again: https://www.facebook.com/groups/155259601699910/

Hi We are staying in Abu Dhabi and heading to Yas each day of the F1. Where would I find more info on the bus services and where to catch them to get to the island?

Many Thanks Shannon

Buses depart from the Main Bus station. You can take the 190 from there to Yas Island. I have taken this before and it’s about 1 hour to the circuit. More info here .

Have you any idea when the best time to arrive at the yaz marina circuit for the sunday grand prix. I will be traveling from Dubai

The race doesn’t start till 5pm local time, but you can get there earlier if you want to see the support races and the build up to the race. I’d be aiming to arrive by 2-3pm at the latest to get value for your money out of the day.

My wife and I staying in Dubai and would like to share a taxi to Abu Dhabi for the Saturday and Sunday races. I asked to joining the group Going to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Please accept my request asap, so I can hopefully find a suitable people to share a taxi during these 2 days.

Thank you in advance,

Hi Joseph, I accepted your request to join the group – there’s a few people already looking to share rides this year from Dubai. Hope it works out for you

Wow, already approved. Many thanks for your fast response.

Hi Andrew, I’m coming from Dubai as well. Maybe you can help to me out, I want to join the group. Thank you.

If you have asked today, you’ve been approved already!

Hi, I would like to know how much is the premium parking if I would like to go Yas Marina Circuit. Do I need to register to get one parking?

Hi Serene, you can see prices for parking in our ticket shop . Where will you be watching the race? I can suggest best parking for you. Please also don’t forget that there are thousands of available spaces for free connected to the Yas Mall. If you park there, you can take the Yas Shuttle to get to your grandstand.

Hi Andrew, I have tickets for the North Grandstand. Interested in buying Parking tickets for Sunday. I saw red parking is nto far and cheaper than Silver 1. How convenient is it? Can I enter through the North Oasis or will I need to walk to Gate 25? What do you suggest? TIA

My suggestion would be to park for free at the Yas Mall. It’s pretty close to the North Grandstand. Not sure if you can enter via North Oasis, but I’d think so

landing tomorrow on ba105 , could you accept me on the group to see if anyone is on the flight needing a lift share please?

Hello – since the race is at 5pm do you think I would make it to Dubai airport in time to for a flight to Pune at 23.55 (which means i need to be at dubai airport at around 10pm)? thank you

Yes, I think you can make it! Depends how you get from the track to Dubai Airport though, better to take a private car/taxi

many thanks

Hi, the parking info is a bit outdated as it changed last few years. There is no park and ride in Al Shahama and no restriction on having to have 3 tickets to get a parking pass. Instead there is free general parking in any of the Yas Mall parking garages with shuttle bus to all Grandstands.

Also note that taxis have a maximum of 3 passengers and facemask must be worn as per the formal rules

Thanks a lot, I made some updates to the post!

Just looking for a trip to the Abu Dhabi circuit on Satruday and back later in the evening. Any idea. Horst

Travelling from Dubai to Yas Marina? I suggest joining our group for fans attending the race and asking about a shared trip.

Hi Andrew, which Grandstand would involve the least amount of walking for getting a taxi after the track events get over? In the map posted on your site, there’s a ‘Taxi Load Zone’ beside the West Grandstand. And the North has the Ferrari World next to it, where there should be taxis too I guess. So, which would be best? Not sure if relevant, but don’t plan on staying for the concert. Thanks.

Sorry for not replying sooner, but I did see in our Abu Dhabi group that people were easily able to get taxis back to the city from the main road near the South Grandstand

Planning to go from central bus station at abu dhabi to the circuit

any idea on what routes or busses to take , as its very overwhelming please!

Please read the post again, it says you can take the 190 bus from Abu Dhabi bus station to Yas Marina

We will be reaching to the race by a rented car. We are planning to go to afterconcert too. Our flight is at 2am from Abu Dhabi airport. Do you think it would be very jammed after the event is finished and we should leave earlier or is it organized well so we don’t need to worry about missing our flight?

For sure your flight time is ok for watching the race, but I think you won’t be able to stay for the entire concert, as they normally finish around 11pm-11:30pm and that will be a bit late to comfortably get to the airport and check in, etc. Best idea is to park in the Yas Mall parking, as it’s pretty close to the concert venue. Yes, everything is well organized, but if you stay to the end of the concert, everyone will be leaving at once and you could have some delays getting out of the parking and to the airport.

I will be travelling to Abu Dhabi for the first time to watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this November.

My current plan is to head straight off from Yas Marina Circuit after the F1 race & podium ceremony finishes on Sunday.

I plan to book a flight departing at 10.30 p.m. from Abu Dhabi Airport. Based on your own experience and those people inside your group, do you think I can make it to the airport on time for checking in before 9.30 p.m. on Sunday? I am really worried about the crowded queue of people waiting for taxis after the race finishes, which will cause me to miss the flight.

I plan to hire a taxi on-the-go after the race or pre-book an Uber before the race finishes. Where do you think is the best place to do so? My seat is at the Main Grandstand.

Thank you so much for your attention and participation. Edward

You should be ok if the race finishes on time, around 7pm. But any delay will cause you problems. My advice is to book a later flight. You will not enjoy the race if you are worried about missing your flight. Of course you should also make sure you are checked in online before the flight to make the process easier at the airport. I think the best place to get a taxi after the race is near the entrance to Yas Mall, close to where the concert stage is. Lots of people will be staying for the concert, so that is in your favour. But I still wouldn’t hang around long after the race finishes. I don’t know if it is possible to pre-book an Uber to get you at the track after the race.

Hi. Im Paulina I will attend GP on Sunday. I will be staying at Dubai. How can I reach Yas Marina and mostly important how can I get back to Dubai once the race is over? Not planning on staying to the concerts. Preferably looking for bus routes as taxi can be expensive for just one. Thanks!

Hi Paulina, I suggest joining our group for Abu Dhabi . You can hopefully find someone to share the taxi with you, as the bus is not very convenient and takes a long time.

Hi , I will be attending the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this November. I will be staying in Dubai so am interested in taxi sharing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I suggest joining our Facebook group for Abu Dhabi , you can ask about sharing taxi there.

Looking to go to abu dhabi for the race using bus , im staying right next to ibn battuta stations , what lines should i take for the shortest route

Who’s going this year? First ever race for me, staying in Dubai have coach transfers booked with my package but depending on concerts I’ll stay abit later. So possibly looking to share taxi back

Let me know if you’re going

Hi Mark, I think better to ask this question in our Facebook group for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
