Travel passes in Leicester are unique and unlike anywhere else in the East Midlands - here's why

Concessionary bus passes are available in cities to eligible residents - however, Leicester passes offer far more perks as compared to other cities.
Residents, who are registered disabled and senior citizens, are entitled to more travel benefits than passes from anywhere else in the East Midlands.
Unlike concessionary bus passes in Derby, Nottingham, Lincoln and other cities outside the East Midlands, the city's passes offer discounted train fares.
Bus passes for senior citizens can be used for half-fare train journeys between Leicester and Derby, Nottingham, Peterborough, Kettering or Nuneaton.
The passes allow for train travel between these services at all times.
Similarly, disabled people who qualify for a travel pass are entitled to free train travel on journeys between Leicester and Leicestershire stations to Derby, Nottingham, Peterborough, Kettering or Nuneaton.
Concessionary travel passes from the destinations mentioned do not offer the same entitlement, making Leicester's unique.
