France’s idyllic countryside serves as the backdrop for Plan-de-la-Tour , a historic estate owned by three-time Oscar nominee Johnny Depp. Located just outside of Saint-Tropez, the grounds include a Provencal village, a former chapel that now serves as a guest house, and buildings that date back to the French Revolution. Fifteen bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms are spread across the main residence and guest cottages.

The two-story main house features a tile roof, cobblestone exterior, exposed wood beams, and stone pillars throughout. The estate also features two swimming pools, a gym, a painter’s studio, and a cave room with a stone-speckled barrel ceiling. Vineyards, olive groves, and 300-year-old oak trees dot the grounds. Inside Johnny Depp’s Compound In The South Of France

Set amid the gently rolling hills of glorious Provençal countryside, the A-list actor’s sanctuary is located just 17 miles north of Saint-Tropez in the picturesque village of Le Plan-de-la-Tour. The 37-acre estate centers upon an authentic 19th-century Provençal village, and Depp himself oversaw the careful restoration of the village’s native-stone structures, the thoughtful conversion of the dwellings for luxurious modern living, and the décor of each interior space.

Since acquiring the glorious but forgotten property two decades ago, Depp has invested over € 10 million during his 14-year relationship with French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis, creating an artist’s haven and family-friendly retreat defined by a deep respect for the original architecture and history. His meticulous efforts and gift for marrying the traditional and modern are immediately apparent. From the first step into the village square, guests are enchanted by this storybook sanctuary and delighted by the discoveries greeting them at every turn.

The property includes an entire 19th-century Hameau — a small Provençal village — with more than a dozen structures that together measure more than 10,000-square-feet with a total of 15 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. The approximately 4,300-square-foot main house has five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, a deconsecrated church is now a guesthouse wherein the confessional was converted to a closet, and a gipsy-style covered wagon serves as a quirky guest suite complete with a bathroom and kitchen. The estate also includes a swimming pool, an art studio and a private restaurant Depp named Café Marcheline.

Depp himself is a talented painter as well as a passionate art collector, so the artist’s studio on his estate is among his favorite rooms. For more than 25 years, Depp has been collecting the works of the Neo-Expressionist American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Recently, Depp sold nine of his Jean-Michel Basquiat paintings at the Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary auctions in London. In fact, these seminal works led the auctions’ success, attesting to Depp’s profound understanding and engagement with modern art. This same impeccable taste powered the creation of Depp’s one-of-a-kind estate in beautiful Le Plan-de-la-Tour. Depp has been trying to sell the property a few times. According to our sources he still owns it, it's up for sale at € 63m.

Johnny Depp and former wife Amber Heard engaged in a dramatic court case , which saw the former win a defamation case. Depp is a popular actor who has starred in several major movies such as The Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Murder on the Orient Express, City of Lies, and many more. He is also a three-time Oscar Award nominee. Given Depp's accomplishments, have you ever wondered how a guy like him lives?

Back in 2001, before Depp made Jack Sparrow come to life in Pirates of the Caribbean, he starred in a pair of movies including Blow and From Hell. Around the same time, Depp bought a property in France. It's unknown how much Depp paid to secure the property. Nevertheless, the Pirates of the Caribbean star did shell out $10 million to maintain the features of the estate.

Fast forward to 2015, Depp started to have thoughts of unloading the property. First listing it for as much as $63 million, the property has gone through several price changes that also went as low as $27 million. Although Depp hasn't been successful in landing any buyers, he doesn't seem to be giving up after putting it back on the market with an asking price of $55.5 million.

Originally completed in the 19th century, the villa sits on 37 acres of land , according to the Gentleman's Journal. On top of the plot of land, there sits several structures including the main house, six guest houses, a private restaurant, and an art studio. Overall, the property encompasses 12,900 square feet of living space. It includes 15 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

Some of the property's main features include stone-and-wood beamed structures, a study with a fireplace, a wine cave, a traditionally designed main bed suite with a piano, a fitness gym, and many more.

While there isn't much indoors, the property's main attractions can be found outdoors. The backyard features an al fresco dining area, a pair of swimming pools, and several green spaces filled with various trees such as oaks, olives, and vineyards. The new homeowner should also have easy access to the art studio and the private resto called Chez Marceline.

Depp is a seasoned actor with several starring performances to his name. Based on Celebrity Net Worth, Depp has a net worth of around $150 million . As a result, it isn't surprising that the Pirates of the Caribbean star can afford to live a lavish lifestyle.

Before being known for his quirky characters and personality, he began his acting career on the film  Nightmare on Elm Street. 

After a few years, he landed the lead roles in John Waters’  Cry Baby  and television’s  21 Jump Street,  and his acting career shot forward. He has starred in many films, including many Tim Burton movies,   has won many awards, including a Golden Globe and People’s Choice awards, and can create a range of characters from the lovable bad boy, quirky pirate, murderous barber, and so much more.

Just imagine owning a piece of property that Depp himself designed. You can do just that if you have $55 million, which is Le Plan de La Tour’s price, the Provencal village Depp has owned since 2001.

The village, abandoned when Depp purchased it, has 37 acres of lush landscapes and is only 17 miles from the popular destination of St. Tropez. Depp spent about $10 million renovating, restoring, and decorating the buildings that dated back to the early 19th century. Depp lived in the village off and on during his 14-year relationship with French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis and their two children.

After their separation in 2012, Depp decided to sell. He first put the village on the market in 2015 and 2016, asking between $25 and $63 million, but there were no takers. He is now relisting the village that boasts a 4500 square foot main house and six guest houses with a total of 15 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms and 12,900 square feet of living space.

Depp restored and converted the original buildings to his liking and style. He turned the town’s original church into a guest house and one of the buildings into a private restaurant called Chez Marceline. There is a wine cave decorated in the theme of a pirate’s lair, complete with a decorated skull and other items that would definitely get Jack Sparrow’s approval.

The village also has two pools – one of which is surrounded by sand and has a beach bar – skate park, outdoor dining areas, art studio, children’s playroom, and total gym. Along with the buildings’ unique aspects and original facades, the village also has beautiful scenery, like 300-year-old oak trees, olive trees, and vineyards. Just think about what you could do with this village.

It comes with all furniture and decorations, some even from Depp’s personal collection. The village could easily be turned into a nice little resort for profit, or someone could turn it into their own personal estate like Depp and his family did. The possibilities are endless, and with just a short drive to St. Tropez, it would be a great vacation spot for anyone.

Johnny Depp n'arrive pas à vendre sa maison à Plan de la Tour dans le Var à plus de 45 millions d'euros

La propriété où ont vécu la star hollywoodienne Johnny Depp et la comédienne et chanteuse française Vanessa Paradis, dans le Var, était à vendre pour 23,056 millions d'euros en 2015 et 2016. Puis non. Puis oui. Après ces premiers échecs, Johnny Depp a décidé de retenter le coup. 

Après un premier échec, Johnny Depp a décidé de retenter le coup ! Après voir proposé en 2015, sa modeste demeure à la vente pour 23 millions d'euros, voilà qu'il la remet sur le marché pour 55,5 millions de dollars, soit plus de 45 millions d'euros ! 

Une information révélée par The Mirror  ce 17 février.

Situé à 25 kilomètres de Saint Tropez, au Plan de la Tour, ce bien est "un hameau provençal privé, d'une dizaine de bâtiments" , qui comprend 1.000 m2 de surface habitable et 15 hectares de terrain

Entre 2015 et 2016, l'interprète de Jack Sparrow dans Pirates des Caraïbes avait déjà tenté de se séparer de cet immense bien , un vrai petit village typique, mais il n'avait reçu que des offres bien inférieures au prix demandé. 

12 chambres et autant de salles de bain !

Outre la bâtisse principale, la propriété comprend plusieurs maisons d'amis, une chapelle, un bar-restaurant, un atelier-garage, une maison du  personnel, une cabane de chasseur, une salle de jeux pour enfants, un espace de remise en forme, une cuisine professionnelle. On y trouve aussi deux piscines et une piste de skate-board, ainsi qu'un atelier d'artiste où l'acteur, aussi peintre à ses heures, exécutait ses toiles.

Vendue avec tout son contenu

Acquise par Johnny Depp en 2001, il y a investi une dizaine de millions de dollars depuis, selon les informations de Sotheby's en 2015.

En 2009, Johnny Depp s'était confié à VSD sur sa vie de famille dans ce village provençal. "Avec Vanessa et les enfants, nous vivons dans une sorte de petit village, c’est comme le paradis. Le domaine fait 121.000 mètres carrés et vous savez ce que j’y fais ? Absolument rien!", avait-il alors déclaré.

Johnny Depp et Vanessa Paradis ont vécu ensemble pendant 14 ans, de 1998 à 2012, et ont eu deux enfants, Lily-Rose et Jack.

Johnny Depp’s Village Estate In Provence

The property is actually an entire hamlet which comprises of more than a dozen buildings including a main house, several guest cottages, a chapel, a bar & restaurant, a workshop/garage, a staff house and much more. This small Provençal village is just 25 km (17 miles) north of Saint Tropez.

Depp decorated the interiors of the estate himself spending more than $10 million over the years on the renovation. He turned the restaurant into his dining room, and transformed the chapel into a guest house.

The charming estate has 10,760 sq.ft. of living space, including more than 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Depp put the property on the market in 2015 with an asking price of US$ 26 million. The asking price includes all of the furniture and some of Johnny Depp’s personal belongings.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is selling his Provence home for €50 million ($55 million), doubling the original asking price for the sweeping estate, and you can get an insiders’ look at  the property.

A genuine Provencal village a few miles from Saint-Tropez, Johnny Depp’s remarkable property has been on sale for over a year. Originally priced at €23 million ($26 million), the sweeping 15 hectares (37 acres) of olive groves and vineyards hold an 18 th century village converted into a luxury residence. In addition to two swimming pools, a gym, and a bar /restaurant, the Bohemian-style living space boasts fifteen bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms located in the main house and six guest cottages. Among the estate’s quirkiest features? A wine cellar designed by the actor himself in a style reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean, and a village chapel that has been transformed into a guest house. The drone-view video of the breathtaking property released by Christie’s provides an original means to seduce buyers, particularly now that the price has been raised to over €50 million ($55 million). • During long business trips, every traveler likes to have the comforts of home with them. For actor and American-expat-in-France Johnny Depp , that means French wine. Depp has made no secret of his love for wine , particularly Bordeaux. He's told reporters that Cheval-Blanc , Pétrus and Château Calon-Ségur are some of his favorites, and he and longtime partner Vanessa Paradis own a vineyard in the Côtes de Provence , where they make their own wine. The actor is currently in Illinois, filming Public Enemies , a '30s gangster flick in which Depp plays John Dillinger. Apparently he didn't find what he was looking for in the old bootlegging capital's liquor stores, so he shipped in his own booty and had 10 cases of wine sent to him from France. According to media sources, the cases included some Pétrus and his own wine from Plan de la Tour. No word on whether he shared anything in his care package with his costars Christian Bale , Billy Crudup or, most appropriately, Oscar-winning Frenchwoman Marion Cotillard .

Slightly more appealing than the Chinese cactus wine we told you about a few weeks ago.

• Perhaps one of the reasons that the wine-auction market hasn't tumbled along with the U.S. stock market is that wealthy Chinese wine lovers are willing to pay top dollar for rare wines. On April 19, a private wine buyer from China paid the highest price yet for a single lot of Domaine de la Romanée Conti . The anonymous buyer spent $500,000 for a total of 27 bottles, which included a case of 1978 Romanée-Conti, two bottles each of the 1961, 1966, 1996 and 2003 vintages, as well as single bottles of 1981, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1999, 2001 and 2002. While half a million bucks may seem like a lot of money, even for fine wine, DRC auctions are notorious for reaching dizzying heights , and Unfiltered also noticed that, at 27 bottles, this "single lot" is larger by half than all previous record-breaking lots of DRC. Stephen Williams , managing director of the Antique Wine Company, which handled the sale, said the deal was unusual in that it showed that the Chinese were gaining an interest in fine French wines from outside Bordeaux, and also unusual in that the wine was sourced from an American, not French, cellar.

• Earth Day may have been last week, but Unfiltered is on the case year-round. First we showed you how to recycle your prized empties by planting your used bottles ; now we've found a wine that comes with something to plant alongside it: wildflowers. Kunde Estate 's newly released Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma Valley Magnolia Lane 2007 is being sold with a bottleneck tag that's suitable for planting. The tag is made of recycled paper, printed with soy ink, with a mix of gaillardia, catchfly, wallflower, Chinese hocus and baby blue eyes seeds embedded in the paper so the entire tag can be planted in the ground. We recently tried the wine and found it light-bodied and refreshing, with notes of lime, grapefruit and jalapeño—but with no lingering wildflower aromas.

• Just when you thought that wine had already been served in every type of packaging imaginable, along comes a merchant house with a Bordeaux-to-go in a sippy box designed to mimic the effect of drinking from a glass. And not just any Bordeaux négociant. The idea is the brainchild of Cordier Mestrezat Grands Crus, an up-market establishment founded over a hundred years ago whose top-flight wines sometimes fetch four figures. Their cheap and cheerful brand of portable wine, called Tandem, is a generic Bordeaux, available in red, white or rosé, packaged in an 8.5-ounce Tetra Pak and sold with a four-holed straw that effectively sprays the wine into your mouth, which, according to the company, imitates the sensation of drinking from a glass. Which makes us wonder: How did we miss the introduction of Riedel's spray-gun glass?

• And, speaking of wine packaging inspired by children's products, there's now a wine coloring book, for those of you feeling nostalgic for the smell (and in Unfiltered's case, taste ) of crayons. Julian's Vineyard Adventures , from the author of The Grapes Grow Sweet , chronicles the story of 4-year-old Julian as he experiences grapegrowing in his family's vineyard from dormancy to harvest. Publisher and grapegrower Corinne Reichel conceptualized and wrote the text for the 20-page coloring book, which features a story and illustration for each month of the year. Nearly 30 U.S. wineries are selling the book, including Napa's V. Sattui and Artesa , and Sonoma's Chateau St. Jean , Landmark and Sebastiani . With the line between childrens' products and adults' being continually blurred, Unfiltered can't help but wonder what's next: Winemaker Barbie and Ken? Decant Me Elmo? Pinot-scented Play Doh? (Actually, we'd be open to that last one …)

It’s called Le Plan-de-la-Tour, France and is ten miles from Saint-Tropez, France. Depp purchased a 37-acre estate in 2001 which included an entire village built in 1812. After purchasing the village, Depp threw down an additional $10 million to restore and update many of the stone buildings on the estate.

Sure, you could buy a boring old house with the $55,5 million you’ve had stashed away for a rainy day.

Or, you could impress everyone at the charity gala, or wherever the wealthy hang out, by telling them about your quaint little French village.

Maybe just leave out the fact that it was formerly owned by Johnny Depp. After the Amber Heard divorce drama , folks aren’t too fond of him.

Depp’s village, which is a real village that was once abandoned, is located in Provence’s Le Plan De La Tour, a small region of France.

According to Robb Report , it boasts a restaurant, wine cave, and skate park, among other charms.

In it, you’ll also find 15 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms spread out over six guest cottages and the main residence.

Depp purchased the compound in 2001 for an undisclosed amount and went on to spend millions renovating the 19th-century buildings, according to Toptenrealestatedeals.com. All this was during the 14 years he spent in a relationship with French actor and singer Vanessa Paradis.

It has two swimming pools, and you can hang out at the bistro Depp named Chez Marceline.

The 4 500-square-foot primary residence includes five bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

One of the six guest homes was originally the town’s church.

The village also includes a covered wagon with a bath and kitchen, a full gym, a pirate-like lair and an art studio, along with outdoor dining in the town square.

Square footage for the living spaces has been reported to be between 12,900 and 14,500 square feet.

The price mentioned in the video below is from 2016 when he first put the village on the market. It didn’t sell.

Dans The Carnival of at the End of Days, la prochaine comédie du réalisateur britannique, l’acteur affrontera dieu incarné par Jeff Bridges.

«C’est comédie où Dieu décide de détruire l'Humanité. Et le seul qui tente de nous sauver est Satan. Parce qu'il a besoin de gens en enfer, sinon il n'aura plus de boulot pour l'éternité !», a confié Terry Gilliam au sujet de sa prochaine comédie, interrogé par nos confrères de Première dans le cadre de sa venue au festival d’animation d’Annecy. Le réalisateur britannique, à qui l'on doit les animations des Monthy Python, sera l'invité d'honneur  du rendez-vous des films d'animation qui se tiendra du 9 au 15 juin.

Intitulée The Carnival of at the End of Days, la comédie met en scène Johnny Depp dans le rôle de Satan affrontant Jeff Bridges dans le rôle de Dieu. « On est train d'essayer de déterminer exactement quand et où ça se fera. Pour le moment, le tournage est prévu pour janvier prochain. On verra. Et j'ai un casting plutôt pas mal : Johnny Depp, Jeff Bridge, Adam Driver et Jason Momoa  » , a précisé l’auteur des films cultes Brazil ou Las Vegas Parano, dans lequel jouait déjà Johnny Depp.

Boudé par Hollywood après son procès l’opposant à son ex-femme Amber Heard, sur fond d'accusations de violences conjugales puis d'accusations mutuelles de diffamation, évincé de plusieurs projets, notamment des sagas Les Animaux Fantastiques et Pirates des Caraïbes , l’acteur revient à l’écran en 2023 dans Jeanne du Barry,   réalisé par Maïwenn.

Le film dédié à la vie, à l'ascension et à la chute de la favorite du roi Louis XV, jouée par la réalisatrice elle-même, met en scène Johnny Depp dans le rôle du souverain français. Le film marque alors son grand retour à l'écran, après ce feuilleton judiciaire ultra médiatisé.

L’acteur opère également un retour derrière les caméras. Plus de 25 ans après The Brave , il a fini le tournage du biopic de l'artiste italien Amedeo Modigliani  avec la star italienne Riccardo Scamarcio dans le rôle-titre. Produit par Al Pacino , qui incarne le collectionneur d'art Maurice Gangnat, le film n’a pas encore de date de sortie.
