Is EA Sports PGA Tour on Game Pass?

Later this week, EA Sports will be officially releasing its newest hit golf video game, known as the PGA Tour Road To The Masters. EA Sports touched on a variety of important details leading up to the games’ launch so far, including where it will be available to play on. And as you can imagine, some Xbox Game Pass members are likely wondering whether their subscription-based service will have the EA Sports PGA Tour video game in its catalogue as well?

A couple of things to be aware of about Xbox Game Pass, is one, sports games won’t always be featured on it. And two, should there be any new sports games coming to Game Pass, it can take weeks if not months before they arrive. This was the case with Madden 23, for example. Released by EA Sports on August 19, 2022, Madden 23 wasn’t added to Game Pass until February 9, 2023.

Though that was the case for Madden 23, it wasn’t for MLB The Show 23, which launched with Xbox Game Pass on March 28. So in short, it will ultimately vary which sports video games will make it on Xbox Game Pass. And with EA Sports PGA Tour set to go live this week, many want to know if it will be on Game Pass.

EA Sports PGA Tour

Unfortunately the answer is no. EA Sports PGA Tour is not available on Xbox Game Pass and won’t be for the foreseeable future. EA Sports has yet to make any statement on whether the new PGA Tour video game will be on Game Pass later this year, something that’s not even reflected on their FAQ page .

Though it took a while for Madden 23 to make it to Game Pass, it ultimately did make the cut (albeit months later), and that could very well be the case for EA Sports’ PGA Tour as well.

Since the game will only be available on current generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC), it very well might not make it on Game Pass seeing that Xbox One players wouldn’t even have access to it. Should you want to play the new EA Sports PGA Tour video game, you would need to purchase a copy.

If some of you are wondering whether EA Sports’ PGA Tour will come with crossplay or not , be sure to check out our guide where we highlight all the information you need to know.

We’ve also covered the full list of EA Sports PGA Tour courses and all the pro golfers you will be able to play as or against once you hop into the new game.

PGA TOUR winner, broadcaster Mark Carnevale dies at 64

Change Text Size

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Prior to the start of the 1992 PGA TOUR season, Mark Carnevale had played 10 career PGA TOUR tournaments, basically an event here, an event there, after turning pro in 1983.

Then, after toiling on the mini-tour and state-open circuits and seven consecutive unsuccessful trips to Q-School, Carnevale secured his PGA TOUR playing privileges at the 1991 Qualifying Tournament, tying for 18 th . At age 32, Carnevale was a rookie all over again.

But after finally arriving to the PGA TOUR stage, his perseverance was put to the test again. In his first 10 PGA TOUR starts as a full-fledged member, Carnevale only made five cuts, his best finish a tie for 39th at the Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic (now the Sanderson Farms Championship), played opposite to the Masters, where he cashed a check for $1,081. More missed cuts followed, but a tie for 13th at the BellSouth Classic and a tie for 19th at the Centel Western Open showed glimpses of his game coming around.

It was then, in Tennessee (and Georgia), that his talent met the timing. Carnevale won the Chattanooga Classic at Council Fire Golf Club, shooting a final-round 64 to defeat Ed Dougherty and Dan Forsman by two strokes on a course that is partially in the Volunteer State and partially in Georgia. Although it was the lone TOUR victory for Carnevale – earning him PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year honors – it set him forward on a path to make golf his forever career, either as a player, an administrator or, most recently, a broadcaster.

Carnevale died unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2024. He was 64.

“Mark was a beloved part of the TOUR family for a long time," said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. "He was a member of that elite club, a PGA TOUR winner, and then he held numerous roles within the industry, most recently as a significant voice in PGA TOUR Radio’s coverage. Mark knew the game and did a terrific job of conveying insights from his unique point of view – and with an engaging wit and sense of humor – to fans from countless TOUR events through the years. We will miss Mark and send our condolences to his loved ones.”

Carnevale grew up in a family with sports at the center. His father, Ben, was the head basketball coach at North Carolina, leading the Tar Heels to their first NCAA tournament appearance in only his second season in Chapel Hill, in 1946. That year, the team finished with a 30-5 record, losing to Oklahoma A&M, 43-40, in the title game. The elder Carnevale eventually left UNC and landed as the head coach at Navy, a job he held for 20 years, until 1966. Once Ben retired from coaching, the family moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, when Mark was 12 when his dad became the William & Mary athletic director.

Carnevale’s sport, however, was golf, and he considered playing for William & Mary while weighing golf scholarship offers following high school. However, he eventually signed to play for James Madison.

Despite a sterling collegiate record even while missing his entire sophomore season due to injury, Carnevale originally didn’t have professional golf aspirations, telling the Harrisonburg (Virginia) Daily News-Record, “The competition is unbelievable on the TOUR. I enjoy the game too much for that.”

Carnevale then had a change of heart about professional golf after working, briefly, for a brokerage firm post-graduation.

Upon his return to competitive golf, Carnevale played the occasional PGA TOUR tournament, competed on various mini-tours and went on to win the 1990 Utah Open, coming from eight strokes back on the final day to force a playoff. Less than two years later, Carnevale had made it to the PGA TOUR, walking away with Rookie of the Year honors following his Chattanooga victory that placed him 70th on the year’s final money list.

In 1994, his last, best shot at winning came when he was part of the six-man playoff at the rain-shortened Byron Nelson in Irving, Texas, a tournament Neal Lancaster won. Carnevale saw his fortunes fall after that, dropping to 185th on the money list in 1996. While splitting his time between the PGA TOUR and the Korn Ferry Tour in 1997, he again found success.

Carnevale opened the 1997 Korn Ferry Tour season by finishing second at the Lakeland (Florida) Classic. He then traveled cross-country and won the Inland Empire Open in California in his next start. He tied for second in start No. 3 then was third in his fourth appearance that season, in Louisiana. On the strength of that early success, Carnevale held the No. 1 spot on the money list for 11 weeks and eventually finished second, behind Chris Smith, giving him another year of PGA TOUR membership, in 1998.

Mark Carnevale’s best moments on PGA TOUR LIVE over the years

Carnevale eventually walked away from the touring professional life, becoming tournament director of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Virginia Beach Open in 2003, while still making occasional TOUR appearances playing out of the past-champion category. In his playing career, Carnevale competed in 212 PGA TOUR tournaments and made 66 Korn Ferry Tour starts.

In 2005, Carnevale made another pivot. With a big smile and a booming voice, Mark began a broadcasting career as a reporter working at PGA TOUR tournaments for SiriusXM Radio. He also covered some tournaments for PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+. The final tournament Carnevale worked as a broadcaster came at the Genesis Scottish Open just two weeks ago, where he was a walking reporter for PGA TOUR Radio, describing the action from The Renaissance Club. Carnevale was slated to work this week’s 3M Open from Blaine, Minnesota.

“Mark Carnevale was an integral part of live coverage on our streaming platforms and PGA TOUR Radio coverage. He was a consummate professional, who was respected by the PGA TOUR players he covered, and his insightful analysis and humor will be greatly missed,” said Greg Hopfe, PGA TOUR Entertainment senior vice president and executive producer.

Carnevale is survived by four siblings: sister Jeanne (Skip Hansford); brothers Robert (Karen), Dave (Nancy) and Dan (Lana); and the love of his life Liz Boudreaux. Funeral services are pending.

2024 Open Championship one and done picks, sleepers, predictions: PGA Tour betting advice from top golf expert

Mike mcclure locked in his expert one and done golf picks, projected leaderboard, and top sleepers for the british open 2024 at royal troon golf club in scotland.

collin-morikawa-usatsi-cbs-3.jpg

The final major championship of the year gets underway on Thursday when the 2024 Open Championship tees off at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will be out to win his second major of the season, and is currently listed as the 4-1 betting favorite in the 2024 Open Championship odds. The 28-year-old has finished in the top-25 in each of his three Open Championship starts. Other top contenders in the 2024 Open Championship field include Rory McIlroy (8-1), Bryson DeChambeau (9-1), Ludvig Aberg (9-1), Collin Morikawa (10-1), Xander Schauffele (13-1) and Tommy Fleetwood (20-1).

The total 2024 Open Championship purse is $17 million, with the winner taking home $3.1 million. With One and Done pools winding down, it is imperative that you nail your British Open picks. Should you back one of the favorites or target a longshot like Hideki Matsuyama or Max Homa? Before locking in your 2024 Open Championship one and done picks,  you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors, signature events, and big money tournaments critical.

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 13 majors entering the weekend, including the 2024 Masters -- its third Masters in a row -- and this year's PGA Championship and U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has his sights on the 2024 Open Championship and just revealed his optimal One and Done picks. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool. You can only see McClure's British Open 2024 one and done picks at SportsLine .

Top 2024 British Open One and Done picks

One of McClure's top OAD picks for the Open Championship is Collin Morikawa. The 27-year-old enters this week ranked fifth on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained (1.372), eighth in strokes gained tee-to-green (1.221), 12th in strokes gained around-the-green (0.386), and 16th in strokes gained off-the-tee (0.495). Morikawa is on a current run of 10-straight top-25 finishes, which has included five top-fives.

At last week's Scottish Open, Morikawa shot under par in all four rounds en route to a T4 finish. The former Cal standout has two career major championships, with one of them coming at the 2021 Open Championship. While he has missed two consecutive British Open cuts, Morikawa's elite ball striking and high level ability around the green make him a great fit for the links style course that will be in play this week.  You can see who else to back at SportsLine .

How to make Open Championship 2024 One and Done picks

McClure is also targeting another golfer for his 2024 Open Championship one and done picks who has a long track record of success against elite competition. This multiple time PGA Tour winner has the ability to win any tournament he enters, and is one of the most talented golfers in this field. You can find out who it is, and check out all of McClure's British Open one and done picks at SportsLine .

Who wins the the British Open 2024, and which golfers should you target for your one and done picks this week at Royal Troon Golf Club? Visit SportsLine now to get Mike McClure's Open Championship 2024 one and done picks, all from the DFS pro who has nailed seven outright winners in 2024 , and find out.

Akshay Bhatia of the United States has a big opportunity at the 3M Open.

Major season came to an end last week with Xander Schauffele coming away with a victory at Royal Troon Golf Club.

Now, we are roughly nine months away from another major as golfers around the world will, in some cases, take vacations.

That is none the more relevant than this week, as Tony Finau comes in as the clear favorite for the 3M Open, standing at 11/1 at FanDuel .

Just seven days ago, he was 50/1 to win the British Open.

There won’t be any Scottie Scheffler, Rory Mcllroy or Jon Rahm, so we’ll have to dive a bit deeper into the leaderboards in order to find some value and probably a winner.

It will be a long week for those whose drives sometimes miss the mark on their drives, as TPC Twin Cities features water hazards at 15 of 18 holes.

Accuracy is critical, and surely, the winner of the 3M Open will show off an impressive trajectory to the greens as they look to stay out of the hazards and snag a victory.

Tony Finau is the clear favorite to win at TPC Twin Cities.

3M Open predictions

Betting at Twin Cities is about getting a golfer who can putt with the best of them while also being an elite iron player.

Those players typically make it a birdie fest through the weekend and put up some prolific numbers.

The 3M Open could be a mess on the wetlands.

Finau is intriguing just because of how hard he hits the ball. He’s easily the most proven ball striker on the field.

I’ll pass at this price for now because his drives were a disaster after Day 1 at Royal Troon Golf Club and if he misses any spots, he could be in for a long evening.

Akshay Bhatia is one golfer you might want to consider at 20/1 on most sportsbooks.

Bhatia has excellent accuracy with his irons, has played excellent golf lately and has done a fantastic job with his putting as well.

He’s the third favorite to win the tournament in what is expected to be a wide-open field.

PICK: Akshay Bhatia to win (20/1, FanDuel )

Xbox Game Pass Adds Unique Day-One Game With Great Reviews

Xbox game pass update adds big new game, xbox game pass adding new co-op game with 'very positive' reviews on august 27.

  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will reportedly hit Xbox Game Pass on August 8.
  • This would be the third Activision Blizzard title to reach the XGP library since Microsoft purchased the company in October 2023.

Xbox Game Pass is set to receive Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on August 8. That's according to a newly emerged report from a reliable Xbox Game Pass leaker.

The source in question is eXtas1s, a Spanish YouTuber who boasts a substantial track record of credible Microsoft-related scoops. The content creator originally reported on this release back in early July, when he claimed that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is coming to Xbox Game Pass sometime in August 2024.

The 7th day-one title to reach Xbox Game Pass in July 2024 is an interesting genre hybrid with a unique premise and excellent reviews.

Several weeks later, eXtas1s has now narrowed down that release timing to a single date, taking to Twitter to assert that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is "100%" certain to reach Microsoft's subscription service on August 8. The YouTuber's original leak claimed that the remake trilogy would be available to both PC and console users, but that its Xbox Cloud Gaming support remains up in the air.

Xbox Game Pass Is Finally Picking Up Pace With Activision Titles

This report arrives less than 24 hours after Microsoft announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will reach Xbox Game Pass later today, July 24. That addition, which was also leaked in advance, suggests that the subscription service is finally picking up pace with releasing Activision Blizzard titles. Since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard in October 2023, only Diablo 4 made its way to the XGP catalog back in March. But between the imminent arrival of Modern Warfare 3 and this newly leaked addition of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy , it would appear that the service is at last starting to embrace Activision Blizzard's titles.

Looking beyond the summer of 2024, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has also already been confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass release . The 2024 installment in the long-running FPS series is scheduled to debut on October 25. In the meantime, rumors of Spyro Reignited Trilogy arriving on Xbox Game Pass have also been circulating the industry for a while now. They first emerged online in April 2024, when the remake compilation was quietly added to the Microsoft Store.

As for the month ahead, Xbox Game Pass currently has only two officially confirmed titles for August 2024: action-adventure Creatures of Ava and narrative-driven adventure SOPA: Tale of the Stolen Potato . Both of them are day-one releases, with Inverge Studios' Creatures of Ava being scheduled to debut on August 7. Meanwhile, StudioBando's SOPA is still waiting for a firm release date. Ahead of their arrivals, Xbox Game Pass will lose three games on July 31: Venba , Train Sim World 4 , and A Short Hike .

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the highest tier of Microsoft's flagship game subscription service that offers over 100 game titles that you can play with a single purchase, making it one of the most outstanding value propositions of the Xbox ecosystem to date.

Golf Course Preview for PGA Betting: Scouting the 2024 3M Open

T his week, we head to the Twin Cities for one of the season's most volatile layouts. With birdie chances and penalty areas paired together at virtually every turn, there may not be a week all season in which a few yards can make or break a charge at the season-long title. From up-and-coming talents lurking right on the bubble, to a few marquee names jousting for future starting spots at Eastlake, one thing is for sure: these four days in the Twin Cities have the potential to shape the fates and fortunes of players on every possible front.

This piece will serve to break down every key trend and statistic I'm weighing to project a player's viability in the outright market and set our readers up to make the crucial decisions necessary on pre-week betting boards. Without further ado, here is my comprehensive scouting report on TPC Twin Cities and the 2024 3M Open!

The Golf Course

TPC Twin Cities - Par 71; 7,431 yards

Past Champions

  • 2023 - Lee Hodges (-24) over M. Laird, J.T. Poston & K. Streelman
  • 2022 - Tony Finau (-17) over E. Grillo and S.J. Im
  • 2021 - Cameron Champ (-15) over L. Oosthuizen, C. Schwartzel & J. Vegas
  • 2020 - Michael Thompson (-19) over Adam Long
  • 2019 - Matthew Wolff (-21) over C. Morikawa and B. DeChambeau

Twin Cities by the Numbers (Off-The-Tee):

  • Average Fairway Width -- 35.4 yards; 10th widest on the PGA Tour
  • Average Driving Distance -- 292.5 yards; ninth highest on Tour
  • Driving Accuracy -- 63.9%; 10th highest on Tour
  • Missed Fairway Penalty -- 0.40; seventh highest on Tour
  • Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee Difficulty: (+0.009); 13th easiest on Tour

The land of 10,000 lakes certainly lives up to its reputation this week, as TPC Twin Cities presents one of the more treacherous tests of golf we've seen in months on the PGA Tour schedule. 15 of the 18 holes here present some threat of water, and the 317 water balls collected by these 27 hazards two years ago were the most of any course on Tour.

As such, keeping the ball in play off the tee is absolutely paramount, but unlike some of the other more waterlogged courses we visit on a regular basis (PGA National, Sawgrass, etc), TPC Twin Cities gives these players some generous landing areas off the tee. At 35-40 yards wide on average, elite drivers of the ball will be incentivized to push the ball as far down the fairway as they dare aim, and with a rough penalty comparable to Detroit GC or TPC Craig Ranch, there isn't much reason for players to shy away from bailing out if there is a "safe side."

This combination of width and lack of stiff penalty outside of the hazards makes TPC Twin Cities a decidedly more driver-heavy course than your stereotypical hazardous Florida course. With a past champions list of Tony Finau, Cameron Champ, and Matthew Wolff, it is clear that length can provide a real advantage, but keep in mind that Adam Long, Sungjae Im, and Emiliano Grillo have both finished as runner-ups here over the last three years. I don't believe any driving profile is out of consideration unless a player is particularly prone to spraying the ball off the tee.

Twin Cities by the Numbers (Approach):

  • Green in Regulation Rate -- 72.2%; Seventh highest on the PGA Tour
  • Strokes Gained: Approach Difficulty: (+0.022); eighth easiest on Tour
  • 200+ yards (accounts for 22.7% of historical approach shots)
  • 175-200 yards (21.0%)
  • 150-175 yards (18.6%)

One players find themselves on dry land, however, the task at this week becomes much simpler, as the greens themselves at TPC Twin Cities are some of the most benign on the PGA Tour. Flat, receptive, and measuring ~6,500 square feet on average, players will have ample opportunities to attack on approach.

In fact, TPC Twin Cities has ranked in the bottom five in Strokes Gained: Approach difficulty in three of its five renditions, and conceded the third highest GIR percentage on Tour last season (74.3%). This mark is made even more incredible when you consider the clubs most players project to have coming into these greens, as with four Par 3's all measuring over 175 yards, five Par 4's measuring over 450, and three very reachable Par 5's, Twin Cities isn't nearly the wide-open wedge-fest we tend to see populate the top of the GIR ranks.

Instead, we project players to hit nearly 50% of their approach shots from beyond 175 yards, and looking back at recent Strokes Gained leaderboards, it's clear that this share of long-irons has allowed the cream to rise to the top. From Tony Finau to Emiliano Grillo, Louis Oosthuizen, Matthew Wolff, and Collin Morikawa, the 3M Open's most prolific performers have done so on the back of elite iron play. I'll be honing in particularly closely on in-form approach players, as well as those who have proven most historically capable of creating birdie opportunities from 175 yards and beyond.

Twin Cities by the Numbers (Around the Greens):

  • Scrambling Percentage -- 54.9%; 2.7% below Tour Average
  • Sand Save Difficulty -- (-0.035); seventh toughest on Tour
  • Up-and-Down Difficulty (Fairway) -- (+0.023); 12th easiest on Tour
  • Up-and-Down Difficulty (Rough) -- (+0.010); 16th toughest on Tour
  • SG: Around the Green Difficulty: (+0.011); 14th easiest on Tour

With a green in regulation rate that routinely sits over 80% for the field's top ball-strikers, it's difficult to make a compelling case that short game has any discernable place in our weekly modeling. In fact, when if we take a look back through the historic leaderboards here in Minneapolis, you'd see more than a few instances of blatantly deficient short games finding their way towards the top of the pack.

Cameron Champ and Michael Thompson were able to win this event in back-to-back years (2020-21) whilst losing strokes around the greens, and eight other players in the five-year history of this event have managed to obtain top five finishes despite rating out below field-average with their short games.

One argument in favor of around the green play this week is that Par 5 scoring remains one of the leading indicators to success this week -- a stat that does tend to skew towards players with strong short games. I will be using par five scoring as a small proxy for around the green play, but on the other 15 holes around TPC Twin Cities, I'd much rather lean into metrics that point me towards players more likely to be putting for birdie than scrambling for par.

Twin Cities by the Numbers (Putting):

  • Average Green Size: 6,500 sq. feet
  • Agronomy -- Bentgrass
  • Stimpmeter: 12.5
  • 3-Putt Percentage: 2.8% (0.2% below Tour Average)
  • Strokes Gained: Putting Difficulty: (+0.013); second easiest on Tour

For as important as putting projects to be this week in the Twin Cities, the green complexes themselves this week are among the easiest to putt on on the entire PGA Tour. Pure bentgrass greens are always some of the most player-friendly you'll find in the world - particularly when they're lacking in severe slope.

For reference, in 2023, TPC Twin Cities ranked in the bottom five in putting difficulty from inside 5 feet and from outside 15 feet, while ranking inside the bottom 12 in putting difficulty from 5-15 feet in four of the previous five seasons. You should expect to see 15, 20, and 25-footers being poured in with regularity, and with the historic success of players like Cameron Champ, Doug Ghim, Lucas Glover, and Emiliano Grillo on these surfaces, you'd be excused for treating these benign complexes as a bit of a leveler between the have's and have not's within the PGA Tour's putting hierarchy.

Given the historic importance of putting in this event, I will be boosting the prospects of the field's most prolific putters (particularly on bentgrass). However, with the separation that can be gained from staying out of trouble from tee to green at TPC Twin Cities, I don't treat this week as nearly the same level of putting contest as the birdie parties we've seen in week's past (Rocket Mortgage, John Deere Classic, etc.).

Key Stats Roundup (in order of importance):

  • Approach Play: using both general metrics like SG: Approach/Birdie Chances Created, as well as more specialized stats to hone in on elite long iron play (specifically from 175 yards and beyond)
  • Slight lean towards driving accuracy to me rather than distance, but TPC Twin Cities is far from a purely positional layout a la Harbour Town/River Highlands. Power off the tee can be a real asset so long as we're not spraying it wildly
  • Birdie or Better Rate/Par 5 Scoring
  • Bentgrass Putting

The Sunday Shortlist

Before the odds come out on Monday morning, here are two to three names I've identified as significant targets upon my initial research.

Although Tony's ball-striking splits have made him a trendy pick to capture one of the game's marquee championships this summer, his recent history would tell us he's a far better investment at the depressed odds we're likely to see in a beleaguered field this week. Over the last two seasons, Tony has accrued four PGA Tour victories: one in a Fall Swing event at Memorial Park, one in Mexico's National Open -- which included just two players inside of the OWGR Top 50, and two right here in the Midwest in back-to-back weeks: running away with the 2022 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic by a combined eight shots. His average odds over those four wins? 12.8/1.

This season, Finau comes into the Twin Cities in decidedly better form than two years ago: logging five straight top 20 finishes from the PGA Championship to the Travelers, including a third-place finish in last month's U.S. Open. In that time, Tony has lapped this field with his iron play: gaining an average of 5.2 strokes per tournament on Approach -- beating the next best approach player in this field, Keith Mitchell by nearly two shots per start.

Finau also holds a decided advantage when we hone in specifically on mid/long iron play from beyond 175 yards (a range which accounted for 48% of approach shots here last season). He ranks 2nd in my modeling in Weighted Proximity, and in five career starts here in Minneapolis, Tony has recorded two of the best five approach weeks of his entire career; averaging 5.0 shots per start with his iron play in that time.

Finau also leads this field in Par 5 scoring, he ranks inside the top 20 in Good Drive Percentage, and has gained strokes with both off-the-tee and on the greens here in the Twin Cities in four straight starts. As a past champion and the second-highest ranked player in this field, we clearly won't be seeing much value in the Finau number this week. But if recent history is anything to go off of, these sub-20 prices are exactly the spots in which you want to target Big Tone.

Although we've had a few wins-by-proxy with the likes of Jason Day and J.J. Spaun in my lifetime, perhaps nobody in the history of the sport has come closer to capturing the Philippines' first PGA Tour title than Richard "Rico" Hoey. The Manila-native has found himself on a heater as the calendar has flipped into the summer months: logging finishes of sixth, second, and eighth in three of his last four starts.

An alumni of Southern Cal, Rico has long been known for his elite driving prowess: even earning the nickname "WGD," or "World's Greatest Driver" from his teammates and coaches at USC. In his debut season on the sport's highest level, he's shown they weren't far off in their calculations: ranking inside the top eight on the PGA Tour this season in both Total Driving and Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee.

The driver has been an evergreen commodity throughout Rico's career, but it has been the developments in the rest of his game that have made him a regular sight on the first page of leaderboards this summer. In this four-stretch since the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Rico has gained an average of 3.15 shots to the field with his iron play, he ranks ninth in this field in Birdie Chances Created, and has gained strokes with his putter in five consecutive starts.

Notably, Rico's two best finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour last season came on bentgrass greens, including a win at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville. Perhaps, then, it shouldn't be a surprise that we're seeing a similar run of form through the PGA Tour's summer swing in the midwest 14 months later. Sunday's haven't yet been kind enough to the 28-year-old to grant him his maiden victory at the top level, but there are few players in this field that should be coming in with his level of confidence. In a week with so much uncertainty between trans-Atlantic travel, varying barometers of recent field strengths, weather waves, and even styles of golf, I'm willing to ride the hot hand here at any price >60-1.
