" They are compassionate, patient, kind and understanding "

I am so thankful for Dr. Chege and the whole team here. They are compassionate, patient, kind and understanding. They were able to work us in during an emergency situation and treated us with so much respect and kindness even though it was our first time visiting the clinic. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking compassionate care for their animals.

Veterinarian in Fresno: Services

Our pet hospital offers compassionate care and a wide range of pet services. Please reach out if you don’t see the service you need here. We either offer it or can refer you to the best option here in Fresno.

Pet Wellness

Preventive wellness care is one of your greatest gifts to your furry friend. We listen to your observations. And we examine your cat or dog to identify potential medical concerns before they become a more serious issue. Through prevention and wellness care, we can help you and your friend enjoy a long, beautiful friendship.

Pet Dentistry

Like humans, poor dog and cat dental health can lead to significant health complications. These result in discomfort, pain, and an overall lower quality of life than you would want for a family member. We offer cat and dog teeth cleaning  services, oral exams, oral surgery, and other pet dentistry services to support your animal friend’s optimal health.

Online Pet Pharmacy

Our pet parents love our online pharmacy, which offers transparent pricing. You can now conveniently order your pet’s prescriptions and non-prescription supplements. Get free shipping on most orders and sign up for Autoship. Never run out of essential medications and supplements again.

Pet Diagnostic Testing

We provide state-of-the-art diagnostics in our Fresno Veterinarian Hospital quickly and accurately diagnose health issues for proper treatment.

Pet Surgery

Your skilled Fresno Veterinarian performs routine, soft tissue, and advanced pet surgery for dogs and cats. Our goal is to reduce your pet’s stress and make them as comfortable as possible. At the same time, we recognize your role in their lives. We want to ensure you have the resources and information. You should feel at ease and supported throughout the procedure and after-care.

  • Spay and Neuter

Choosing to spay/neuter your cat or dog is about more than preventing an unwanted litter. It protects your beloved friend’s quality of life and life span. This one act of kindness prevents several common cancers and reproductive issues. It can also reduce the risk of dangerous encounters indoor and outdoor pets can face. Our Fresno Spay and Neuter Clinic performs this routine procedure for your cat or dog’s health and wellness.

  • Vaccinations

Your Fresno Veterinarian keeps you informed about the recommended vaccines based on your pet’s age, health, and lifestyle risks. We perform a thorough wellness exam to assess your animal friend’s needs. We then make both standard and personalized recommendations to promote optimal wellness for your pet.

Flea & Tick Control

Flea, tick, and worm control are necessary at all stages of your pet friend’s life. We make sure you have the resources to learn about the best pest prevention and treatment options for your pet. We make it easy to keep up with our convenient online pharmacy and Autoship.

Microchipping

If your friend is lost, microchipping can help a veterinarian or animal welfare center reunite you with your lost pet. It’s an affordable way for pet parents to protect and love their pets.

What People Are Saying About Our Fresno Veterinarian

“We saw the vet about an ongoing issue our cat was having and unfortunately, received some tough news. The vet was very compassionate and thorough in explaining his condition, our treatment options, and what to expect going forward. They were upfront about the cost of diagnostics and treatment and didn't put any pressure on us to do more expensive options. I couldn't ask for a better vet.”

Testimonials

we have had older family pets treated there and we’ve had newborn litters of pups treated there and we’ve been very happy with the doctor and also the staff great job!!

Great service for pets and their families. I have been coming here for years and they have always treated me and my baby (Martini) with the best care!!

My dog is usually very anxious in vet clinics. Dr Rattandeep allows me to go into the room with the dog together, which decreases her anxiety. Also, he approached the dog slowly and gives her treats so that she can warm up to him. The office is not crowded, which also helps decrease her anxiety. This is the only office she’s been the calmest in.

Today we sent our golden retriever of 14 years to the doghouse in the sky. Upon arrival Harley was anxious and thrown off that the four of us were at the vet with him. However, his usual vet tech comforted him and told us she was sorry we were losing such a great dog. Not once did our family feel that Companion saw Harley as revenue rather than an animal. The evaluations were honest and had the best in mind for Harley.

Harley was a lifetime customer of Companion and we highly recommend that those in Fresno looking for a great, reasonable vet visit Companion. Thank you so much for your compassion and care for Harley.

We have used Companion Animal Hospital for about 20 years and at least 6 dogs. They have always been kind to the animals and their people. We get good advice and great follow up care. The Companion vets have helped us with a lot of pet problems from cancer to lung disease to fleas and well checks. We will continue to trust Companion with our pets’ health as long as we live here. We have absolute confidence in Dr. Singh and the rest of the staff.

These three got to see Dr. Collins, two meeting her for the first time. She made them feel so comfortable and she took her time examining them all!! Except for the young woman who “greeted” us every single person was so sweet! And, all appeared to be in the perfect job because they were sweet to us and our little babies! Except for the cost, which we signed up for, I would highly recommend Dr. Collins and Abby Pet Hospital!
The place is very clean & spacious! The receptionists were helpful & friendly! The vet was very attentive & thoroughly examined my pet rats! Would definitely recommend!
Successfully turned my roommate's dog into a tripod. 10/10 would recommend if you're looking to save your animal's life. Very helpful and friendly even through stressful times.

CEDAR VETERINARY HOSPITAL REVIEWS

The hours are great, the staff are very friendly, no one seems to be turned away when walking in. Location is great. The doctors are wonderful, put my mind at ease. My dog is usually anxious, and at other vet offices, they muzzle him, doctor here didn't, and my dog let her examine him without any problem. I was so proud of my dog for being such a good boy, but give credit to the staff who treated him with great care. We go there weekly for his chiropractic adjustments, and he does great. I recommend to anyone to bring your pet in for treatment of any kind.
It was very difficult for us to say goodbye to our family member of 17 years who was ready to go after a full life, but we are very grateful to the staff of Cedar Veterinary Hospital for their sensitivity and being available 24/7. They were superb. You want people like CVH when you need sympathy and tissue to dry tears.
Expensive compared to clinic but any problem I ever had with my cats was always resolved, and I have not had any issues. I believe it is Worth it when needed to be seen right away or condition is serious. They're professional and very nice here, I appreciate their efficient use of time and hard work

WATERHOUSE ANIMAL HOSPITAL INC. REVIEWS

Yesterday was our first visit to the Waterhouse Animal Hospital, and to say that we were impressed would be an understatement. From the moment we entered, until the moment we left were experienced the most fantastic customer service and an incredible office visit. Dr. Ravinsky was very thorough and made sure that I understood everything she did during the exam, and the options available. She explained, in layman’s terms, the vaccinations and test that she performed. She was great. Dr. Ravinsky was assisted by another associate, Brittany, who took notes and made arraignments for our prescriptions. She too was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Even the person who took the payment was polite and professional. I can’t forget the first person who took us into the exam room, Virginia. Down-to-earth and caring. She was a good listener and friendly. At the end of the visit I felt valued as a client, my dog was given a very comprehensive exam, and I’m happy to recommend Waterhouse Animal Hospital to all of my pet loving friends.
Wow. I can’t say enough about this place. My dog had an issue with his ear and also has a major fear of vets, so getting him to walk into a vets office is almost impossible. One of the vet techs named Haley was an absolute angel. First she tried helping me get him in, then suggested a medication to help calm him. So we rescheduled and Haley called to check on him during the trail run of the medication. I believe the other vet techs name was Sabrina she was amazing, so much patience and empathetic to dogs that struggle with fear. Thank you Dr. Jessica Loweth for treating my guys ears and being such an amazing vet!
Such a great place to bring all your fur babies! The staff here are so warm and welcoming, as well as knowledgeable and informative. My two girlies (my fur babies) love coming here and trust all the people that work here. Highly highly recommend!

102-year-old WWII vet from New York dies while traveling to D-Day ceremony in France

Robert Persichitti salutes

A 102-year-old World War II Navy veteran from New York died while traveling to France to take part in a ceremony to honor the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion that turned the tide of the war toward Allied victory.

Robert Persichitti was traveling to Normandy by ship with a veterans group, headed to the site of the historic June 6, 1944, war milestone.

On the ship, he suffered a medical episode and was airlifted to a hospital in Germany, where he died, Richard Stewart, the president of veteran organization Honor Flight Rochester, told NBC News on Thursday.

Stewart said he received the call informing him of Persichitti’s death on Friday — news no one expected as “he was active, sharp as a tack, right up [to the end].”

“His health was age appropriately very good up to 102. He had some heart problems, but he checked with his doctor, who said, ‘Absolutely go on the trip,’” Stewart said. “He passed away peacefully, he was around people.”

“The doctor found some Frank Sinatra music, which was his favorite,” Stewart added.

Persichitti, of Fairport, New York, was described as a “humble” man who “had a great life.”

His vibrant, centurylong journey began with his childhood in the Allegheny Mountains outside of Pittsburgh. He lived through the Great Depression, joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, and when World War II broke out he enlisted in the Navy, spending a year in New York City attending radio school and learning Morse code.

He spent 15 months at sea assigned to the command ship USS Eldorado in the Pacific as a junior radio operator through the end of the war, serving in Okinawa, Iwo Jima and Guam, Stewart said.

He witnessed the historic moment Marines raised the American flag atop Mount Suribachi during the battle of Iwo Jima in February 1945 — which was captured by photographer Joe Rosenthal and became one of the most iconic images of the war, Stars and Stripes reported.

He returned to Mount Suribachi in 2019 as part of a veterans program with the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, telling a Stars and Stripes reporter at the time, “When I got on the island today, I just broke down.”

Persichitti was named to the New York state Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame in 2020.

After the war, he settled in Rochester, New York, where he spent 40 years as a shop teacher with the Rochester City School District, teaching carpentry and other technical skills to students, and where he joined Honor Flight Rochester, which takes veterans to visit D.C. memorials.

In 2015, he published the autobiography “Building an American Life.”

He also regularly visited students in Pittsford, New York, near Rochester, to speak about World War II. In April, the Pittsford Central School District shared photos of students celebrating Persichitti’s 102nd birthday.

Persichitti was an active part of Honor Flight Rochester, and most recently attended events in April and May, shaking the hands of hundreds of veterans.

“When Bob said he was going to be someplace to do an event to help spread the word with Honor Flight, he was there, he’d be in his orange shirt. He was a great volunteer for us,” Stewart said. “I think we all had every intention that if he got back from his Normandy trip on Father’s Day, he would have been there in June, shaking hands.”

Stewart noted that Persichitti’s wife had preceded him in death and he had no children.

Travis Kelce on his acting gig, White House visit and staying true to himself: 'Livin' the dream'

GMA logo

Travis Kelce is opening up about his life, sharing some updates from recent events including his acting debut, his visit to the White House, his future plans and more.

In an interview with "Good Morning America" which aired on Thursday, the 34-year-old three-time Super Bowl champion sat down with ABC News' Will Reeve, discussing what he has been up to during his off-season.

Last week, Kelce joined his Kansas City Chiefs at the White House for a Super Bowl celebration during which Kelce was given an opportunity to step up to the podium.

"President [ Joe ] Biden called me up this time," he recalled. "I didn't have to sneak around him to get to it...It was cool. You know, I had no idea he was gonna do that. He kinda just sprung it on me. And it was real."

"It was real. All the Secret Service guys that were there made sure to let me know that, you know...they got orders to keep me away from the podium unless asked...I was like, 'Yeah.'... I felt all the Taser guns on me when I walked up there," he said with a laugh.

"But it was cool, man. And that is such an unbelievable experience," he added.

Adding a new skill onto his resume, Kelce is making a foray into Hollywood after landing a role in Ryan Murphy's forthcoming FX series, "Grotesquerie."

Asked if he is now an actor, Kelce replied, "I guess you could say that. Yeah."

"I've been on a few shows before... I've only played myself in those shows, though," he explained. "So it's definitely different portraying a character and trying to find the emotions in everything, and the understanding of a script and the scene. But it's a challenge."

He said he has been "taking pointers" from everybody and "keeping an open ear" to learn.

"I feel like an amateur right now, but it's definitely a fun challenge, and I'm enjoying every bit of it, for sure... I'm coachable. That's one thing I know from being in sports, I am a coachable guy," he said. "It's just been awesome... Everybody involved in terms of the actors and the directors and the writers have just helped me out so much, understanding what I'm supposed to be doing. And I'm just havin' fun with it."

During the conversation with "GMA," which took place on the set of a commercial shoot for Accelerator, an energy drink brand that Kelce serves as an investor, the tight end star also dished on his relationship with his brother, Jason Kelce who is the former Philadelphia Eagles center.

The two co-host their own podcast called "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce," which has continued to rise in popularity since it debuted in September 2022.

"I couldn't have even imagined it'd get to the point it is today. And I'm so fortunate that everybody, you know, kinda latched on to me and my brother's family dynamic, because that's really what my goal was too when we started the podcast," he said.

He said the podcast gave a different perspective to fans on their bond as brothers.

"If you looked at us on two different teams you really didn't even think that we were brothers," he continued. "We just had the same last name. Just because he's, like, the Neanderthal that wears flip flops in the winter and doesn't really care what he looks like, and I like to, you know, throw on fashionable stuff and have fun. Be a little bit more outspoken....And, you know, through the podcast we've been able to show everybody just how close we are as brothers."

Kelce's romance is also another aspect that has kept him occupied during his time off from the field. He reportedly made time to vacation with his girlfriend Taylor Swift on the European leg of her world tour.

Kelce told "GMA" that the life he is living right now is something that he couldn't have imagined for himself in the past.

"I can't really say that I had that much of a vision on where I was gonna be, especially off the field," he said. "So I don't think I could even fathom where I'm at right now in life."

Despite all the attention he received from his professional and personal accomplishments, Kelce shared how he continues to stay true to himself by crediting the support provided by the people closest to him.

home visit vet fresno

"When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier," he explained. " I have such a beautiful family... And I've always been a very grounded guy."

He continued, "You know, it might not come off like that when I'm playing football...but off the field, I just wanna be a genuine person. Somebody that seems very relatable...if anybody asks me for a picture and it's just not the moment to take a picture, you know, I'll have a conversation with you."

Asked about his life plans for the next few years away from football, Kelce shared he is focusing on being in the present.

"I'm so in the present, man. Just being present during the now is something I really pride myself on," he said. "And I try not to get too far down the road because you just never know what opportunities are gonna present themselves. So I know I got a 2024 football season coming up that I'm pretty fired up about."

"I'm so fortunate and so grateful [ for ] everything that's come my way in life," he reflected. "I feel like I'm on top of the mountain, even after winning' the Super Bowl and having' the off-season that I'm having. And just looking forward to what's next in life, man...I'm so grateful. So appreciative. And yeah. Livin' the dream, baby."
