Poole and Portsmouth are the only UK ferry ports you can catch the ferry to Jersey. Sailing durations to Jersey vary depending on which boat or port you choose. If you are looking for the quickest sailing time to Jersey, then Poole will be your best option. However if you are looking for a cheaper deal and you have time on your side Portsmouth can be a cheap option. Portsmouth port operates year round daily sailings to Jersey, whereas Poole offers limited winter sailings but a daily main season service from April to October. Travelling by sea can be a great option to allow you to explore the island of Jersey, as can you take your car and pack everything you need to avoid excess baggage charges.

La Corbiere lighthouse
This striking white lighthouse towers over Jersey’s south-western corner and is flanked by rocks. Bring a picnic to enjoy the view of tis landmark and snap some photos of the dramatic spot where the tide races over the causeway.
Fliquet Bay
Just above St Catherine’s Breakwater, Fliquet Bay has a sheltered position and is a lovely place to sit and soak up the views. On a clear day you can even see France.
This beautiful fishing port nestles in Jersey’s north-east and is sheltered by green rolling hills. At low tide a small expanse of beautiful white sand is revealed with tiny fishing boats stranded on it’s banks. Many are drawn to this blissful scene to pass a quiet afternoon over cloudless views of the French coast.
Jersey Zoo began as the first ever conservation-themed zoo and now, over 60 years later, Gerald Durrell’s animal haven is the natural place to discover some of the world’s most incredible creatures. Home to around 120 species of exotic animals, this is safe haven for many of the world’s most endangered creatures and many of the animals are captive bred for re-release to the wild. This beautiful 32-acre park offers incredible animal experiences, keeper talks, a children's playground and so much more.
Jersey Museum, Art Gallery & Victorian House
Discover Jersey's history, dating right back to the Ice Age, and learn about the island’s traditional farming industry, or watch archive footage of the early years of tourism through the Story of Jersey film and numerous displays, including manuscripts, artworks and artefacts. If time allows, step back to the 19th century with a visit to the beautifully restored, gas-lit Victorian House.
Greve de Lecq Beach
This sheltered north facing beach is fringed with wooded slopes and leafy country pubs. It's a firm favourite with families, haveing rocks to climb, pools to seek out critters, a sea that’s never too far out even at a low tide and lifeguards during the summer months. All in all this beach is a winner.
Elizabeth Castle
Built on a rocky islet in St Aubin’s Bay, Elizabeth Castle has defended Jersey for more than 400 years. Take the amphibious castle ferry across to the castle or walk out along the causeway at low tide and you'll discover Elizabeth Castle is the perfect place to spend a day exploring Jersey's history. Climb the battlements that date back to the 1590s, explore the grounds that gave refuge to King Charles II during the English Civil War and uncover the bunkers which were re-fortified during WWII.

Jersey War Tunnels
Jersey War Tunnels tells the true and unforgettable story of wartime Jersey and german Occupation in a way that no other visitor attraction does. It’s the best place to get a true picture of the hardship, the heartache and the heroism in the words of the people who were there. The exhibition is housed within an underground tunnel complex of over 1,000 metres, built by the Germans using slave labour.

Les Landes hosts nine race meetings during the summer, so get together with family or friends for a great day out. There is a public bar, various food outlets and plenty of room if you wish to bring a picnic and take in the views of the picturesque coastal area of Grosnez in the north-west corner of the island.

Take a RIB-roaring boat trip - Join an awesome skipper and crew for fantastic trip to the Ecrehous, a group of islands located 6 miles north east of Jersey, and only 8 miles off the coast of France. This popular seafair showcases these remote islands which have amazing sandbanks and rock pools to explore at low tide, however on the high tide the old fisherman's huts feel vulnerable to the surrounding sea. The area provides perfect opportunities for unique photos, swimming, paddle-boarding and picnics. Along the way you may spot a variety of birdlife, Atlantic Grey Seals and, if you are lucky, bottlenose dolphins.

Plémont Bay
This sandy cove on the north-west tip of the island has to be one of Jersey’s most beautiful beaches. Flanked by soaring cliffs, the sands are washed by a gentle surf while low tide reveals rock pools, fascinating sea caves, and even a fresh water waterfall. Be sure to discover Plémont's natural drama and enchanting beauty during your stay.
