WWE announces house show in same city, on same day as AEW Worlds End
There will be a lot of live wrestling in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Last night’s SmackDown took place at the Kia Center, home of the Orlando Magic, and according to those in attendance, WWE announced they will be returning to the venue on December 28 as part of its Holiday Tour.
AEW Worlds End will take place on the same day a little over 15 miles down the road at Addition Financial Arena on the campus of the University of Central Florida.
@MrJacobCohen on X posted the following:
Our own Mike Sempervive offered the following thoughts on the news:
WWE SmackDown on Friday had over 13,500 fans in attendance. WrestleTix noted on X that WWE kept opening new sections for the show and the tickets kept selling out.
“They keep adding seats and selling them out. There’s a great chance this one will exceed 14,500 with people in suites,” WrestleTix wrote .
“This show had one of the best US crowds of the entire year,” our own Bryan Alvarez wrote in his WWE SmackDown report about the live crowd in Orlando last night.

Fans Demand Dana White Cut 'Pathetic' UFC Fighter After Fourth Straight Loss
Mathew riddle | 15 hours ago.
UFC fans are asking Dana White to cut Herbert Burns following his losing effort at UFC 305 on August 17.
Burns, the younger brother of former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns, made an explosive entrance into the UFC in 2020 with a stunning knee knockout against Nate Landwehr in his promotional debut. This victory was one of only two wins in his four-year UFC career, as the Brazilian grappler went on to lose three consecutive fights before facing Jack Jenkins at UFC 305.
Hopes for a Burns resurgence were dashed when Jenkins systematically dismantled him, securing a TKO in the third round. This marked Burns' fourth consecutive defeat, and once again, his body language reflected a sense of defeat, mirroring his previous losses.
WHAT A COMBO FROM JACK JENKINS! 👊 [ #UFC305 Live NOW on @ESPN and @ESPNPlus ] pic.twitter.com/e554vpJ8HM — UFC (@ufc) August 18, 2024
Fight fans haven't held back in their scathing reviews of Burns' performance, branding him 'pathetic' and demanding his removal from the UFC.
"Cut Herbert." One X user wrote . "Everytime he’s in there he dosent want to do it. Save him from himself he’s clearly only doing it for his paycheck."
"Dana please already cut this f****** frog from the promotion," Another demanded. "He doesn't belong to this league."
"Who let Burns into the UFC?" One fan commented . "Seriously, this guy seems like he's on a path to self-destruction"
Some were less kind...
"Herbert Burns is a pathetic fighter," One X user wrote . "I mean going to his back like that is just a horrible look."
"Herbert Burns might be the most pathetic UFC fighter i’ve ever seen," Another X user wrote .
Whether Burns is cut from the UFC is up to the UFC brass. Still, it's hard to argue with four straight finish losses.

Taylor Swift returns to UK for first live shows since foiled terror plot
Fans of superstar Taylor Swift have been coming together to support those who had tickets for the cancelled sell-out shows in Austria - with many offering up their own for the Wembley gigs in London.

Taylor Swift returns to Wembley this evening for her first live performance since shows in Austria were called off, after an alleged planned terrorist attack was foiled.
Swift has already played three dates at the England football stadium as part of her record-breaking Eras gigs, and is now back for five more - the last of which will mark the end of the tour's European leg.
Her first London shows were among the most memorable of the tour, with the star bringing out her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce for a surprise appearance on stage during one.
As always, there is huge excitement among Swifties lucky enough to get tickets this time round. Those fans in the standing area will be queuing up early to potentially secure a front-row spot and no doubt swapping friendship bracelets and bonding over their shared love of the star.
But it has been a difficult few weeks.
In July, three young girls died following a stabbing at a dance class inspired by her music in Southport, Merseyside.
Following the attack, Swift said in a post on Instagram that she was "completely in shock" and "at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families".
Just days later, all three of Swift's shows in Vienna, due to take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week, were cancelled over a suspected terrorist plot .
Swifties support each other
Fans of the superstar have been coming together to support those who had tickets for the sell-out shows in Austria - with many offering up their own.
Catherine Santamaria, 47, from Buckinghamshire, was due to attend a Vienna show with her 14-year-old daughter, Carla. After hearing about the cancellation, they decided to continue with their trip to the city to "make the best of it" and meet other fans.
"We were obviously quite sad when we arrived but we started looking online and saw Swifties were gathering in central Vienna," Ms Santamaria said. "It was just the sweetest atmosphere, everybody was exchanging friendship bracelets, singing and doing their best to get over being heartbroken."
The pair have since managed to secure tickets to Monday's concert at Wembley thanks to a fellow Swiftie.
Ms Santamaria wrote about their situation on an online fan group, and received a message from a woman in America who was offering to sell her tickets.
"She sold them to me at face value, which is just unheard of," she said. "What's lovely about the Swiftie community is just how devoted they all are and they're so generous. We wouldn't be going it if wasn't for this other Swiftie."
Read more: Are the London concerts safe? Eras tour is exactly the grand adventure the star promised Swift v Beatles: How do they compare?
Cristina Jones, creator of the viral Swifties for Southport JustGiving page, told the PA news agency how she has given her Wembley ticket away for free to a fan who had been set to see the star in Vienna.
Ms Jones, 29, said: "I thought it was just nice to give it away to someone who couldn't go simply because Vienna was cancelled for the right reason," she said. "It was nice to be able to see that someone who hasn't been able to go to The Eras Tour is now able to go."
She said she set up an online giveaway process to offer her ticket to one lucky fan.
"She was really excited, until I sent the ticket I don't think she realised it was going to be real," Ms Jones said.

Security reassurances
Wembley officials have put out a reminder about security ahead of the gigs, but a spokesperson for the stadium told Sky News they are the same measures that were in place for the previous shows in June.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said there is "nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London".
After Swift's last show at Wembley on Tuesday 20 August, the mammoth Eras tour then takes a break. The final shows take place in Canada, resuming in Toronto in November and finishing in Vancouver the following month.
The Eras Tour is the biggest-selling of all time, with more than $1bn (£780m) in ticket sales in 2023, according to Pollstar Boxoffice, which collects data on the live music industry. By the end of this year, that figure is expected to rise to more than $2bn.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 LIVE RESULTS: Roman Reigns RETURNS as Cody Rhodes retains title, Logan Paul LOSES belt – reaction
- Kostas Lianos , Digital Sports Reporter
- Updated : 7:01, 4 Aug 2024
SUMMERSLAM has concluded for another year - and the WWE Universe were treated to an action-packed night.
Romain Reigns returned as Cody Rhodes retained his undisputed title after pinning The Bloodline leader Solo Sikoa in the main event.
A new world heavyweight champion was crowned in Cleveland after Gunther dethroned Damian Priest.
CM Punk was defeated by Drew McIntyre with Seth Rollins featuring as special guest referee.
Earlier in the night, internet sensation Logan Paul LOST his United States title to rival LA Knight.

Rhea Ripley husband reacts
Rhea Ripley's husband and AEW superstar Buddy Matthews teased a WWE return.
Matthews, who competed as Buddy Murphy for the wrestling giants, took to social media and asked AEW president Tony Khan to let him help his wife in her new feud with Dominik Mysterio.
Mysterio and Ripley were in a scripted relationship but the former betrayed her by teaming up with her nemesis and Women's World Champion Liv Morgan.
TK can I help Mami real quick? Buddy Matthews Twitter
CM Punk future
CM Punk lost his first WWE Singles Match in a decade, in fact he has yet to win a fight since his return last year with the exception of a non-televised house show victory over Dominik Mysterio.
Punk could continue his feud against Drew McIntyre who picked up a controversial victory at SummerSlam.
However, Seth Rollins is also involved in that rivalry so that could lead to a Triple Threat Match.
New World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will need a new opponent as well as Damian Priest will probably turn his attention to Finn Balor.
So it might be a matter of time until CM Punk returns to the world title picture.
Although it is far likelier that The Best in the World will win the Men's Royal Rumble Match like he was initially expected to do this year.
Judgment Day is over
The Judgment Day looks like it's completely finished after SummerSlam.
Dominik Mysterio betrayed Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor turned his back on Damian Priest.
Mysterio cost Ripley the Women's World Championship and Balor caused the end of Priest's World Heavyweight Championship reign.
It It will be very interesting to see if the whole group will disband or Balor will take over as the leader with his fellow World Tag Team Champion JD McDonagh as well as Mysterio and Carlito under him.
Ripley could also be replaced by Women's World Champion Liv Morgan who just started a relationship with Dominik.
The Aussie will continue her feud with Morgan while Priest should challenge Balor.
What about Logan Paul?
Logan Paul's next challenge in WWE is very unclear after losing the US Championship to LA Knight.
A rematch against Knight at a major pay-per-view event, such as Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble, is very possible.
There's also Crown Jewel on November 2 in Saudi Arabia and WWE would want Paul to be a part of it.
Besides a potential US rematch, WWE might be preparing a fight against John Cena who is set for his retirement tour that will come to an end at WrestleMania 41.
A match between Cena and The Maverick is very likely at some point.
Bloodline Civil War
WWE have basically confirmed there will be a Bloodline Civil War in the near future, but how would that look like.
One the one hand, we have the current group consisted of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu.
And then we have Roman Reigns, who currently has no allies and quite a few burned bridges.
But now that Reigns is a babyface he could make amends with Jey Uso, who could in turn reunite with his twin brother Jimmy Uso.
They will need a fourth member, and the WWE Universe would love it if it was Sami Zayn who is available for a new storyline after losing the Intercontinental Championship to Bron Breakker.
What's next for Reigns?
Roman Reigns returned at SummerSlam after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 in April.
Reigns took out his former enforcer of The Bloodline Solo Sikoa after weeks of the latter disrespecting his cousin and trying to erase him from the group.
It is now expected that The Head of the Table will go after Sikoa and his Bloodline.
That could lead to a massive clash at Survivor Series: WarGames between the current and former Bloodline on November 30 at the Rogers Arena in Canada.
