Classe 1981, Raphael Gualazzi è cantautore, compositore, arrangiatore, musicista e produttore. Dopo gli studi classici al Conservatorio ha sempre sperimentato diversi generi musicali, dando vita ad uno stile personalissimo, tra stride piano, jazz, blues e fusion.

Gualazzi ha partecipato ai più rinomati festival d’Europa (tra cui l’”International Jazz Day”, presso la sede UNESCO di Parigi, il “Saint Germain Jazz” di Parigi, il “Dìa de la Musica” di Madrid, l’Italian Innovation Day a Bruxelles, testimonial del made in Italy di successo all’estero), ha segnato sold out in Italia e all’estero sempre con formazioni di musicisti internazionali, arrivando a conquistare anche il Giappone e il Canada. Nel 2011, già noto in Francia, ha trionfato al Festival di Sanremo nella categoria Giovani con il brano “Follia d’amore”: primo posto, Premio della Critica “Mia Martini”, premio della Sala Stampa Radio e Tv, Premio Assomusica per la migliore esibizione live. E al successivo all’Eurovision Song Contest ha ottenuto il secondo posto con “Madness of Love”. Sul palco dell’Ariston è tornato altre due volte, sempre con grande successo di pubblico e critica: nel 2013 con “Sai (ci basta un sogno)” (quinto) e nel 2014 insieme a The Bloody Beetroots, con un progetto inedito che ha fuso jazz, elettronica, blues e gospel (medaglia d’argento con “Liberi o no”).

Quattro album all’attivo e tre Ep in Italia, Gualazzi ha pubblicato in tutto il mondo (sempre con la Sugar), dalla Francia alla Germania, fino al Giappone (dove, nel 2018 è uscito “Best of”, una raccolta di successi contenuti nei suoi tre precedenti dischi). Il suo ultimo lavoro, “Love Life Peace”, ha conquistato il Disco D’Oro e il suo singolo di traino “L’estate di John Wayne” è stato in vetta alle classifiche radiofoniche per settimane fino ad arrivare ad ottenere la certificazione del Disco di Platino. Gualazzi ha composto anche per la tv e per il cinema. E’ autore di testo e musica, oltre che interprete al pianoforte, di “Vertigo”, brano contenuto nell’album “Sì” di Andrea Bocelli, candidato ai prossimi Grammy Awards.

A febbraio 2020 è uscito il suo nuovo album “Ho un Piano”, contenente la hit sanremese “Carioca”.

Dopo un’intensa attività live nell’estate 2021, con oltre 20 date in tutta Italia tra recital in piano solo e concerti in trio, il 23 novembre, data del centenario della nascita di Fred Buscaglione, Gualazzi ha pubblicato un EP di tributo in cui reinterpreta 5 brani del grande musicista e attore piemontese.

Il 10 giugno 2022 è uscito il suo ultimo album “Bar Del Sole” per Sugar, disco nel quale Raphael ha reinterpretato 10 brani tra classici e chicche meno conosciute del repertorio cantautorale italiano, da Battisti a Graziani, Lauzi, Morandi, Ornella Vanoni e altri. Il progetto è stato co-prodotto interamente da Vittorio Cosma. Dopo l’uscita dell’album è seguito il tour estivo che lo ha portato in giro per l’Italia.

A ottobre 2022 Gualazzi è volato in Sud Africa, precisamente a Cape Town, Durban e Johannesburg, dove ha tenuto tre concerti organizzati dall’Istituto Italiano di Cultura e dall’Ambasciata Italiana locale.

A marzo 2023 debutta dal vivo in Argentina, con un concerto al Centro Cultural Nueva Uriarte di Buenos Aires in cui si esibisce con dei musicisti locali.

Gualazzi ha composto e interpretato “Il Giro”, la canzone che accompagna lo spot Rai del Giro D’Italia 2023, in rotazione sui canali Rai da fine aprile.

Per l’estate 2023 è previsto un tour che porterà Gualazzi nelle principali località Italiane, oltre ad alcune date in Europa – AthensJazz ad Atene, Preveza Jazz Festival a Preveza (Grecia) e Summertime Music Festival a Jurmala (Lettonia).

Un nuovo progetto discografico è previsto in uscita per l’autunno 2023.

Because of artists like Rapheal Gualazzi we are able to go through a portal to other worlds and times of music experience. Gualazzi’s career incorporates a broad range of sounds. Gualazzi gives life back to and pays homage to classic piano rag, 20s pop standards, Nino Rota inspired melodies and early jazz swing.

Gualazzi is perhaps the most accomplished and technically gifted pianist I have seen and in addition to the clockwork precision he exhibits throughout his performances he adds a level of expression that cannot be simulated. He is truly a miracle to see at work. He not only performs piano pieces that would threaten the most dextrous concert pianists, he sings on top of these incredibly challenging pieces. The interworking between his vocal and instrumental performance seems to feed off of the others energy culminating in an unrelinquishing display of musicality.

Gualazzi is also an incredibly versatile performer and writer. He can play solo pieces that absolutely mesmerize the audience with his great speed and precision and can refrain the verbosity of his performance to work with accompanying musicians like an upright bass player and drummer. He updates vaudeville style piano themes as heard on “Reality and Fantasy” with darkly intense scatting which could draw comparison to expressionistic performers like Tom Waits. Gualazzi shows no hesitation in embracing more confine pop structures. “A Three Second Breath” shows his proficiency as a pop artist and a skillful singer. At his shows you might even hear him perform a Duke Ellington cover one minute and then a Fleetwood Mac cover the next. Almost anything seems fair game at a Gualazzi concert.

M72 World Tour

We told you about our new album 72 Seasons , so what’s next now that we’ve escaped the studio? Hit the road, of course! You want a tour, we’ve got a tour... how about two full years worth of shows?!?!

Over the past few years, we have been so inspired by the dedication and family/community vibe of the fans who traveled to San Francisco for our recent weekend celebrations, first in 2019 with the two S&M2 shows, followed by last year’s 40th Anniversary shows. On top of that, we had a blast being a part of the 2021 Wimmer Festivals when we played two nights in one city, each with a totally different setlist. With all of that in mind, the M72 tour was born!

Starting in April of 2023, we’ll be visiting 22 different cities around the world and playing two nights in each city, with each “No Repeat Weekend” show a completely unique experience: Two totally different set lists with two different bands opening the show each night! Purchase a two-day ticket, and you won’t see the same song twice for a total of over 30 songs spanning our 40+ years of being lucky enough to make music. Most of the shows (sorry, not all - we tried!) will be on Fridays and Sundays, so we’ll be sure to have lots of extracurricular events for you to hang with fellow Metallica fans at before the shows kick-off and on the Saturday night in between.

Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only), and brought to you by our friends at Live Nation, the M72 tour also launches a completely different look for us in stadiums – we’ll be in the round in the middle of the field. On top of that, the Snake Pit has been relocated to the center of the stage so that fans there will have a complete 360 view of the show. Each weekend offers a variety of Enhanced Experiences , ranging from access to a meet and greet, production and stage tour, food and beverage in the “Black Box” lounge to early entry into the venue and the aforementioned Snake Pit. The very popular “Black Laminate” is back, now known as the “I Disappear Ticket,” and is the ultimate pass for the fan who wants to run away with us for multiple weekends. In keeping with the theme of two completely unique shows each weekend, we’re excited to share the stage with different bands each night, including some we have traveled with before and new friends who are joining us for the first time. Signing up for the entire adventure with us are Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, and MammothWVH, and some of you will see Pantera, Architects, Greta Van Fleet, or Volbeat, depending on the shows you attend. All the details are in the listing of dates below and on the individual show pages.

Two-day discounted tickets will be on sale Friday, December 2, for all shows. Fan Club presales start early on Wednesday, November 30, with various other presales beginning later that day and throughout the week. A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Founded in 2017, AWMH’s efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.

Why travel to Moscow

Contrasts: 12th century monasteries and some of the tallest skyscrapers in Europe can be found side-by-side in this complex and captivating city. The diversity of this mega-city is astounding. It would take more than two days to walk around the perimeter of the biggest city in Europe, Moscow. Many of its inhabitants barely know what’s beyond the few blocks around their flat and there are so many attractions that it’s almost impossible to know where to start. If there is such a thing as an antidote to boredom, Moscow City is it. The mind-boggling range and diversity of things to do, places to eat, parks, historical monuments and more means that a vacation in Moscow has a wealth of activities to offer for every type of traveler, from young families to retirees.

The Bolshoi theatre is familiar to almost everyone as Russia’s grandest theatre, but what people don’t know is that there are many more bolshoi (big) sites in Moscow that are worth travelling all the way to Moscow to see. For more than 100 years, the world’s biggest bell has been hidden behind the Kremlin’s walls and inside Moscow’s main park (which is bigger than some countries!) there is the world’s largest outdoor ice-rink. Travelers that visit Moscow can stay at the Izmailovo, Europe’s biggest hotel, then eat at the largest and most historic McDonald’s in Europe and after that have fun at the largest European indoor theme park!

Ancient Past & Stunning Architecture:

As those who travel to Moscow will see, just because Moscow is a city of record-breaking, glitzy high-rises doesn’t mean that there is no history. On the famous Arbat street, time-worn, wooden storehouses and century-old churches are squashed up against grey, soviet blocks which are then towered over by 21st century office-blocks. Unlike its much younger sibling, St Petersburg, Moscow’s roots stretch way back to the 12th century. Within the walls of the Kremlin, the city’s oldest building the Cathedral of Assumption can be admired in all its 500+ years of age.

Culture & Convenience

For a foreigner who has never visited Russia, Moscow is the perfect stepping stone into this great land of mystery. From the country’s best classical ballet troupes to snow-white troikas trotting through the parks, all the highlights of Russian culture can be had in Moscow without any of the complications that would be expected in other, less developed regions of Russia.

Cheap as Caviar

In Moscow, everything is bargain when with the current foreign exchange rates being what they are. Even caviar doesn’t seem so dear when the exchange rate is at 60rub to the dollar, so go on indulge yourself! Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

We had a great time both in Moscow and St Petersburg. Your travel agency was excellent in coordinating the whole trip. Everything worked like clockwork. The guides assigned to us were very nice and friendly. They had a great knowledge of their subjects. The cars and the drivers were great. The hotels were good and the itinerary was good. European elections 2024: Socialist Raphaël Glucksmann wins his gamble, coming in third place

The left-wing list is estimated to have won 14% of the vote according to the Ipsos institute for France Télévisions, Radio France, France 24/RFI and Public Sénat/LCP Assemblée Nationale. It trails the presidential majority.

In the end, he almost reached the heights predicted by the polls in recent weeks. Place Publique and Parti Socialiste (PS) candidate Raphaël Glucksmann finished with a score of 14%, according to Ipsos estimates at 8 pm, more than doubling his performance in the 2019 European elections. The MEP is hot on the heels of the presidential camp's candidate, Valérie Hayer, credited with 15.2% of the vote.

Five years ago, this political novice won 6.19% of the vote, convincing 1.403 million voters, and arriving just behind the radical left La France Insoumise (6.31% and 1.428 million votes). At the PS campaign headquarters at La Bellevilloise in Paris, activists were optimistic shortly before 8 pm. "We're very happy with the grassroots campaign, and to see this new breath emerging on the left," said Yannis, 34, coordinator of Place Publique in Seine-Saint-Denis, a favorite stomping ground for La France Insoumise (LFI).

New chapter

This is a true victory for Glucksmann. Throughout the campaign, his teams played it safe, hoping for a simple double-digit score. At the beginning of the year, the gap between the candidate and his government rival was much wider. The Socialists have always been more ambitious, setting themselves the target of doubling Hayer's list. "When you play a match, you want to win it," said Pierre Jouvet, number 3 on the list, on the sidelines of a rally in Marseille on June 1. The idea is to "create the political alternative," seven years after the election of Emmanuel Macron. In recent days, momentum was beginning to build on the side of Manon Aubry (La France Insoumise) pushing the PS to show more reserve.

For the Socialists, a new chapter is about to begin, after the disastrous 2022 presidential election, when the party's candidate, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, won just over 1% of the vote. Throughout the campaign, Glucksmann hammered home the point that the election should "slice the line," in other words reshape the balance on the left. He himself wants to continue to have an influence and has promised to be the "guarantor" of the new result emerging from the ballot box. "Whatever happens, we'll never stop fighting," replied LFI leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon at a rally in Lyon on June 6. This was his way of saying that, in his eyes, the election would change nothing.

The unknown lies above all with the "unionists," who dream of fielding a single candidate for the 2027 presidential election. The first secretary of the Parti Socialiste, Olivier Faure, dreams of being the orchestrator of a union that would bring together the Socialists, LFI voters who are at odds with Mélenchon, the Greens and even the Communists. For weeks, several left-wing party leaders have been trying to organize behind the scenes. From Monday onward, articles and interviews from PS, Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (France's Green party), LFI and civil society leaders will be appearing all over the press, calling for a union of the lefts. What would gravity be? its center of gravity? What will emerge from this abundance of voices? The starting gun for a reshaping of the left has been fired.
