My Chemical Romance Reveal Opening Acts for Rescheduled 2022 Reunion Tour Dates

They'll finally get a chance to "carry on" as My Chemical Romance 's pandemic-delayed reunion tour is finally happening stateside. The band just revealed the full rescheduled itinerary for North America after having to continually push back the shows due to COVID-19's impact on the touring industry.

The tour will now officially get underway Aug. 20 in Oklahoma City, with dates running through Oct. 29 which is the final scheduled night of the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas. The group has also added 14 new shows in 10 cities to the itinerary. See all cities, dates and venues listed below. Tickets for the new dates will go on sale this Friday (March 11) at 12N local time.

In addition, My Chemical Romance have filled the run with a variety of opening acts, including the reunited Midtown, Badflower, Turnstile, Taking Back Sunday, The Bouncing Souls, Thursday, Kimya Dawson, Meg Myers, Devil Master, Dilly Dally, Ghosh, Nothing, Shannon and the Clams, Soul Glo, Surfbort, The Homeless Gospel Choir, The Lemon Twigs, Waterparks and Youth Code all playing select dates.

My Chemical Romance announced their plans to reunite in the fall of 2019, though the seeds of a potential reunion were planted as far back as 2017.  "In 2017, we got in a room together to see what would happen," MCR wrote on Twitter in December of 2019 . "A couple more jam sessions and 39 days of rehearsals later, we’re ready to show you what we’ve learned. See you soon."

The band played their first reunion show at the Shrine Expo Concert Hall in Los Angeles on Dec. 20, 2019, reportedly grossing nearly $1.5 million for the band. The group then started announcing more and more tour dates for 2020, but the pandemic wiped out those plans.

The group will play in the U.K. and Europe this May and June, before focusing on the U.S. this fall. See all of their scheduled dates and get ticketing info here .

My Chemical Romance have added new dates to their 2022 tour. The new North American shows take place in August, September, and October. Find the group’s tour schedule below.

My Chemical Romance’s tour includes three performances at the new When We Were Young music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. The band has numerous stops in Europe, too, but will not be playing shows in Russia and Ukraine .

The following acts will serve as openers at various points on the My Chemical Romance tour: Badflower, the Bouncing Souls, Devil Master, Dilly Dally, Ghösh, the Homeless Gospel Choir, Kimya Dawson, the Lemon Twigs, Meg Myers, Midtown, Nothing, Shannon and the Clams, Soul Glo, Surfbort, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Turnstile, Waterparks, and Youth Code.

After breaking up in 2013, My Chemical Romance returned to the stage in 2019 . They had been planning a 2020 reunion tour, but had to reschedule due to the pandemic .

The returning group will kick off their reunion tour in the UK and Ireland , with a date at the Eden Project in May followed by gigs in Milton Keynes, Dublin, Warrington, Cardiff and Scotland. The tour will then move onto Europe , before visiting New Zealand and Australia in 2023 .

Last week, the group added more North American dates to their upcoming 2022 reunion tour.

The band had previously confirmed more than 25 dates to take place in the States and Canada this summer and autumn, including festival headline sets at Riot Fest, When We Were Young and more.

MCR were due to perform in Russia and Ukraine as part of the European leg of the tour, but cancelled those shows earlier this week (March 7) due to the ongoing conflict in the area. “With deep regret, My Chemical Romance is cancelling our Ukraine and Russia shows in June 2022,” they wrote on Instagram.

“We hope to be able to play for the fans there soon,” they added.

After a decade away from the stage, New Jersey natives My Chemical Romance are back this year for their worldwide 2022 Reunion Tour.

The popular emo rockers’ return to the spotlight will take them to arenas all over North America .

Just a few of the arenas on their 38-concert run include Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on Aug. 29, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Sept. 10-11 and Newark’s Prudential Center on Sept. 20-21.

Then, to close their triumphant Tour, My Chemical Romance will headline at this year’s When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas in October. Other major throwback headliners for the two-weekend event include Paramore, Bright Eyes and Jimmy Eat World.

Beginning at NOON on Friday, Aug. 26, general admission ticket holders can receive a sequentially numbered wristband that will be distributed by the South Plaza outside of the PNC Arena Ticket Office.

• Ticketholders will receive a sequentially numbered wristband based on order of arrival.  
• GA mobile ticket must be presented to receive a wristband. The wristband will be affixed to the ticketholder at this time.  
• Guests will be unable to take additional wristbands for other ticketholders.

At 4PM, guests will begin lining up at the East Entrance .

• At approximately 4PM guests will line up sequentially based on their numbered wristband - beginning with #1.   
• Guests who did not recieve a wristband will line up on a first-come, first-served basis behind guests with wristbands.

What is AXS Mobile ID?

How do I get the AXS App?

The AXS App is free to download and available in the App Store or Google Play. To login, use the same email address you used when purchasing your tickets. You can also download the Houston Rockets app to enter Toyota Center for events. 

How do I use the AXS App to enter the building?

• Open the AXS App
• From the “Home” screen tap the ticket icon at the bottom of the screen
• Login to your account entering the email address used to purchase the tickets
• (If you can’t remember your password, tap Forgot Password and follow the instructions sent to your email)
• Browse your upcoming events and tap the one you want to view
• Tap “View Barcode” and present QR code at the door to be scanned for entry to Toyota Center

How do I access my Parking pass?

Your parking pass for the Toyota Tundra garage will load like a ticket with a barcode to be scanned as you enter the garage.

Can I print my tickets?

AXS Mobile ID tickets are digital and cannot be printed for venue entry.

Are screenshots of the barcode valid for entry?

No, tickets must be scanned through the AXS App.

Can I have multiple tickets on one phone?

Yes. However, we recommend that you transfer tickets to each person attending the event.

What if I don’t have a smartphone?

Please bring a valid photo ID and the card you used to purchase the tickets to the Toyota Center box office.

How far in advance can I access my tickets?

Unless otherwise noted, tickets are accessible on the AXS app and ready to manage as soon as the purchase is complete. Ability to transfer and/or sell tickets varies by show and is subject to change.

What should I bring to an event?

How do I transfer tickets?

Transferring tickets allows you to send tickets electronically to anyone with a valid email address. Once the recipient logs in and accepts the tickets, they will be able to view the barcode.

• Enter the recipients first & last name followed by their email address
• Tap 'Continue'

It's finally here! My Chemical will be in Philadelphia on Monday, August 29 and we cannot wait for the show.

It was originally scheduled for September 2022, but of course, COVID-19 postponed those shows.

It seems like on concert day, there are a few last-minute questions that we always have, right? What time does the concert ACTUALLY start and what will the setlist be?

So we did some digging on the web, and thanks to some Twitter stalking and Setlist.Fm, we think we've figured out both of those questions. Spoilers are ahead?

If you're wondering what time doors open and about the baggage policy for a show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, we've got ALL of that answered for you here.

What Time Does the My Chemical Romance Concert in Philadelphia Start?

There are two opening acts on the tour. They are Meg Myers & Devil Master. The show begins at 7:30 pm, according to the event website.

Per our best guesstimates, we think My Chemical Romance will take the stage around 9 o'clock.

These are just our best estimates based on the other venues. And of course, these are subject to change. As someone who loves to tailgate until the last possible second before a concert starts, I suggest you don't cut it TOO close to the show starting.

What Will My Chemical Romance's Setlist For Philadelphia Be?

They haven't kicked off the North American leg of this tour just yet. But we did stalk their setlist from their shows in Europe, which took place earlier this summer. This is all from the popular website setlist.fm. Some people like to be surprised, but I'm not one of them. I like to plot my bathroom breaks and bar trips during a concert. So I NEED to know what songs are coming up. Here's what we think their setlist will be (of course, this too, is subject to change).

We've all been waiting a long time for the return of My Chemical Romance- a reunion that's been further delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last night they kicked off that much-anticipated tour at The Eden Project in England and they opened their 21-song setlist with the live debut of "Foundations of Decay," their first new song since 2014, released just days ago. It's been over a decade since the band has played England - the last time was the Leeds Festival in 2011 - but that wasn't the only cause for celebration. They also live debuted "Surrender the Night" mid-set and "Boy Division" as part of the three-song encore. Both tracks are from the Conventional Weapons compilation, the last material they released before their hiatus in 2014. Take a look at those performances:

Fans were also happy to see The Black Parade 's "This is How I Disappear" included in the setlist for the first time since 2010. "Make Room!!!" was performed for the second time ever, the first being the LA reunion show in 2019 .

What The Umbrella Academy's My Chemical Romance Song Reveals About Season 4

The song could have a deeper meaning for the show.

Within the trailer for The Umbrella Academy season 4, the song which plays over the action is "The End.," by My Chemical Romance . In fact, the song is the first track which plays on the album, setting the scene for everything that is to come. My Chemical Romance was a popular band in the 2000s and early 2010s, but the band broke up in 2013. The Black Parade is their third studio album, and marks the height of the band's popularity with a huge number of their biggest hits debuting on this album.

The entire story of the album revolves around a patient, who, in the opening track "The End.," addresses the audience and describes their imminent death. Throughout this first song, a heart monitor can be heard beeping, which reveals that the patient is still currently living. Then, the second track, titled "Dead!," opens with the monitor flatlining, which indicates the patient has passed away, and the real story begins. The Umbrella Academy has always played with some of the characters teetering on the edge of death , and in Klaus' case, his power evolving to allow him to come back from the dead indefinitely.

Considering the theme of the album and "The End." specifically, it appears as though the final season is harking back to the roots of creator Gerard Way, and exploring this concept as the Umbrellas face their greatest challenge yet. The trailer also points to the importance of Ben within the final season's story. Ben died tragically when the team were much younger, but up to this point, Ben's mysterious death has never been properly explained or revealed. Perhaps Ben will play the role of the patient, and his story will finally provide the Umbrellas with the information they need to complete their greatest mission yet.

The Umbrella Academy members were all numbered by their father, Reginald Hargreeves, but he didn't do it at random, as the numbers have a meaning.

Finally, The Umbrella Academy Is Embracing Its My Chemical Romance Roots

Gerard way's creative legacy.

It's also great to see the show finally acknowledging its foundation in a much more overt way than any previous seasons. Gerard Way, the man behind the series of graphic novels that inspired the show, is also the frontman of My Chemical Romance. This has been played with in other parts of the show with minor Easter eggs and solo music from Way, but just in time for the final season, the show is finally embracing the wonderful legacy of its creator , and his earlier creative projects in a way that is both meaningful and connected.

My Chemical Romance became a hugely popular rock band with creative music that leaned heavily into dark and comical themes. Songs like "Blood" and "Mama," both tracks from The Black Parade album, have a comical element that works in combination with their dark and morbid themes. Way carried this sense of humor and playfulness around dark themes into his work on The Umbrella Academy comics , and now with his Netflix original series of the same name. Playing up the connection between the two is a great way for The Umbrella Academy to end, and for Gerard Way to create a connected creative project that feels larger than any of those individual projects.
