friends on a road trip

What are some good road trip ideas?

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend some quality time with your family, a road trip is the perfect option. Not only does it allow you to explore new places, but it also provides the opportunity for some great bonding experiences.

What is the most important thing you should consider before taking a road trip?

Arguably, the most important thing a person should consider before taking a road trip is if they have enough money. Make sure you have enough cash for gas, food, lodging, and any other emergencies that may come up.

That being said, a detailed budget for your trip is critical:

  • What is the average price of gas on your route?
  • How much are you budgeting for food each day?
  • How much will lodging cost each night?
  • What about “fun money” to spend on entertainment and extras?
  • How much are you setting aside in case of an emergency?

Spend time forming an in-depth budget for your trip so that you have a dependable estimation of what the total cost will be.

Nothing ruins a good road trip like running out of money!

Share or Save This

Looking for fun road trip questions that are interesting enough to break up the boredom? These questions are family friendly, but entertaining for everyone!

Right now, you’re probably either…

A.) …halfway through a road trip and bored out of your mind.  The ABC game got boring miles ago and you’re tired of listening to “I Would Walk 500 Miles” (HIMYM reference).

B.) …an uber prepared person who knows they’re heading out for a road trip soon and needs to stop that boredom before it starts.

C) Stuck at home for any number of reasons and bored out of your mind.

Either way, this list is perfect for you!  Let’s pull together a fun list of questions you can ask your fellow road tripees when the yellow line gets too long.

Here you’ll find questions that are great for spouses, friends, or even a big family.

Oh, and I created a free downloadable printable in case you hit a patch with no service.  😉

Ooo, and the book If… is fascinating.   My Hubby and I took it on a little couples weekend we took (way too long ago).  Not only is it thought provoking, but you’ll learn a lot about the people you thought you knew everything about.
