Scott Henderson is one of the most important guitarists in the jazz history of the last 40 years.

Since the years of Tribal Tech into successful albums like “Well To The Bone” or the most recent “Vibe Station” (considered by many as his master piece), this guitar player from Los Angeles has always been at the top of his generation, being an inspiration for millions of musicians all around the world.

He is artistically in a special musical place equally close to jazz, rock, blues and fusion; He has the amazing use of the distortion and pedals of a rock player, but also the strong harmony background of a jazz guitar player. The rest, is talent and musicality.

​ Since 2013, Scott tours worldwide with his Scott Henderson Trio featuring the French musicians Romain Labaye and Archibald Ligonnière. Playing barely only Henderson’s music, the trio has joined a delightful interplay and dynamics that makes them enjoy being on the stage and present their fans with a fun, amazing and unexpected performance.

​ The trio is preparing a new album that will be released on 2018 and the goal is to go over 12,000 physical copies (sold only in one year of “Vibe Station”) plus thousands of downloads from major websites.

Der 1954 geborene Scott Henderson trat in den 1980er Jahren mit seiner legendären Band Tribal Tech in Erscheinung und hat sich seitdem zu einem der führenden Gitarristen/Komponisten der Jazz-Fusion entwickelt. Scott wuchs in Südflorida auf, wo er Blues-Rock und Funk spielte und von Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore und seinem Lieblings-Bluesgitarristen Albert King beeinflusst wurde.

Obwohl Henderson seine Karriere als Blues-Rock-Spieler begann, war es der Einfluss des Jazz, der ihn zu dem Spiel- und Kompositionsstil führte, für den er heute berühmt ist. Scott ist nicht nur ein Weltklassespieler und ein hervorragender Komponist, sondern sein Markenzeichen ist auch sein wunderschöner Ton und seine beeindruckende Fähigkeit, Jazz mit Blues, Rock und Funk zu mischen, was ihm eine gefühlvolle und einzigartige Stimme auf der Gitarre verleiht.

Scott hat auch zwei Alben mit „Vital Tech Tones“ veröffentlicht, einer Trio-Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bassisten Victor Wooten und dem ehemaligen Journey-Schlagzeuger Steve Smith. Seit 2009 tourt er weltweit mit dem HBC Trio, bestehend aus dem Bassisten Jeff Berlin und dem Schlagzeuger Dennis Chambers. Ihr erstes Album „HBC“ wurde im Oktober 2012 veröffentlicht.

Wie so oft bei einem Musiker von Scotts Kaliber ist die Nachfrage groß, dass er sein Wissen mit der aktuellen Gitarristengeneration teilt. Er ist Dozent am Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, wo seine Open Counseling Sessions zu den beliebtesten des MI gehören. Scott hat auch Kolumnen für das Guitar Player Magazine und viele andere Gitarrenpublikationen geschrieben.

Alfred Music hat Hendersons Lehr-DVD mit dem Titel „Scott Henderson – Jazz Rock Mastery“ und sein erstes Transkriptionsbuch „The Scott Henderson Guitar Book“ veröffentlicht. Henderson fick en rivstart karriären när han tillsammans med basisten Gary Willis bildade bandet Tribal Tech. Med sin egen blandning av bluesinspirerad jazzrock klev Henderson fram som ett utropstecken i fusionsjazzen. Hans suveräna stil har också lyst fram i samarbeten med bland andra Chick Corea och den vittberömde keyboardisten Joe Zawinul. Scott Henderson har utsetts till världens främste jazzgitarrist av både Guitar World och Guitar Player!

Med ett ständigt idérikt, nyanserat och flyhänt spel håller Scott Henderson fortfarande den yngre generationens gitarrister på halster. Trots att Henderson blivit mäster i eget gebit har han kvar lekfullheten i spelet på ett sätt som lyfter denna fulländade stilist.

I början av februari släpper Scott Henderson sitt efterlängtade nya album ”Karnevel!”. Plattan är mer varierande än tidigare alster. Harmonierna är mer komplexa, men utan att nagga på bluesinfluensen, och vissa låtar är helt rockdrivna.

UA Little Rock Announces Winners of 2024 Annual Student Competitive

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has announced the winners of the 2024 Annual Student Competitive.

This year’s competition featured 71 works of art by 38 UA Little Rock students involving drawing, paintings, prints, graphic design, photography, illustrations, textiles, metals, sculptures, ceramics, and furniture.

Dr. Randy Duncan, distinguished professor of communication and comic studies at Henderson State University, served as the juror/curator for the 2024 Student Competitive Exhibition.

Many awards are sponsored by local businesses, including Boulevard Bread Company, the Root Café, Art Outfitters, Michael’s Arts and Craft Store, and more. Among the prizes are cash awards, scholarships, gift certificates, and starving artist awards.

“We are very grateful for the support from so many local businesses and hope to grow that support to include more business and more prize opportunities for students in the future,” said Nathan Larson, interim gallery director at UA Little Rock.

The winners were announced during the exhibition’s reception on March 29. The winners include:

Cantrell Gallery (Courtesy of Helen Scott and Cindy and Clark Uisman) – $175 to Kristi Pruett for “White Passage, Velveteen Night”

Gallery 26 (Courtesy of Renee Williams and Daniel Broening) – $50 to Macey McLaughlin for “Still Life Study #2”

Travis Kelce Brings Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in London

Travis kelce, brother jason kelce and his wife kylie kelce were spotted at taylor swift's london eras tour show at wembley stadium june 21..

We know   Taylor Swift loves a London boy, but a London family? Even better. 

After all, Travis Kelce  attended the "Fortnight" singer's June 21 Eras Tour stop in London with brother Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce , and the trio made the whole place shimmer.

Before Taylor took the stage at Wembley Stadium, Travis, Jason and Kylie were seen   entering the VIP section together. One lucky fan even got Jason to autograph their New Heights podcast hat, while Queer Eye 's  Jonathan Van Ness took a pic with Travis.

The Kelces' U.K. night out marks Jason and Kylie's first time seeing Taylor's Eras Tour since she and Travis began dating .

But that doesn't mean the former Philadelphia Eagles player—who shares daughters Wyatt , 4, Elliotte , 3, and Bennett , 14 months, with Kylie—hasn't been staying updated on her concerts. He previously declared that the tour's setlist has gotten even better since Taylor added her Tortured Poets Department section.

"I watched videos," Jason told Travis during a May 15 episode of their New Heights podcast, "It looked way more electric for some reason."

Before their family outing in London, Travis and Taylor last spent time together in Europe, taking a getaway car from Paris to Lake Como, Italy, for a romantic vacation  in May. During their trip, the Grammy winner and NFL star enjoyed a leisurely evening stroll and packed on the PDA on a private boat ride .

Of course, those weren't the only enchanting moments from their whirlwind stay in the European resort town. Travis shared that the pair also got to sample some "unbelievable" food . 

As he told reporters on the red carpet at his Kelce Jam , "It's the best food and the best views in the world."

But the  New Heights host wasn't only overseas to hang out with Taylor during her down time. He also made sure to catch the "Cruel Summer" singer's May 12 concert in Paris alongside her bestie Gigi Hadid , her boyfriend Bradley Cooper and Philadelphia Eagles defensive line Connor Barwin .

"I got to see a few familiar faces," Travis explained during the May 15 episode of  New Heights . "Connor Barwin was up there—one of our favorite teammates of all time. Then I got to see Gigi and Bradley—BC, Big Coop—we were all in the suite having a blast."

Gushing that he had an "all-around lovely night" despite it being his sixth time watching the show, he added, "I don't know if they're just getting better or if I'm just forgetting how they are. It was electric."

July 2023: So, Make the Friendship Bracelets

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 's love story began in July 2023, when the singer's Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it . However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.

"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Travis shared on the July 26 episode of his  New Heights podcast. "So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

Summer 2023: This Is Him Trying

After publicly recounting his fumble—a move Taylor would later describe as "metal as hell" —Travis decided to shoot his shot and invite the Grammy winner to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court," he shared on The Pat McAfee Show . "I told her, you know, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one's a little more lit.' So, we'll see what happens in the near future."

August 2023: Enchanted to Meet You

Travis was rocking a mustache—which he debuted in August during training camp—when he was first introduced to Taylor .

As he later noted of the era, "That 'stache and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit, and I had it when I met Taylor for the first time."

September 2023: Sparks Fly

By early September, a source close to the situation told E! News that Travis and Taylor were " texting and talking here and there ."

"It's been very low-key," the insider explained, "as he's been in season."

September 2023: Cheer Captain

Accepting Travis' invite, Taylor joined the athlete's mom Donna Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears. After the game, Taylor and Travis were seen packing PDA at a local bar .

Though folklore had it that it was the couple's first in-person meeting, the "Karma" singer later clarified the two had spent a "significant amount of time" getting to know each other beforehand.

As Taylor noted, "We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date." 

October 2023: Team Up

As an indication that the relationship was heating up, Taylor brought her squad —including friends Blake Lively , Ryan Reynolds , Sophie Turner , Hugh Jackman , Sabrina Carpenter and Antoni Porowski —to watch the Chiefs play against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Another sign that Travis could be The 1 ? Taylor started bonding with Brittany Mahomes —the wife of Travis' BFF and teammate Patrick Mahomes —in and outside of NFL games .

The couple took their romance to TV, making a surprise appearance on the Oct. 14 episode of Saturday Night Live . Their Big Apple takeover also included the after-party for the NBC sketch show and a date night at the Waverly Inn .

November 2023: Karma Is Her Boyfriend

During a bye week, Travis traveled down to Argentina to catch the South American leg of Taylor's Eras Tour. Not only did the NFL star bond with Taylor's dad , Scott Swift , at the Nov. 11 show in Buenos Aires, but he also got a special shoutout from the stage.

" Karma is that guy on the Chiefs ," Taylor sang, "coming straight home to me."

After the show, the Midnights  artist was seen running up to Travis backstage and greeting him with a passionate kiss .

December 2024: Speak Now

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis' games.

"I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there and we don't care," she told Time . "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone."

The music superstar turned Travis' Dec. 17 game into a family affair, bringing her dad to cheer on her man .

Music | These iconic ’90s acts have stopped fighting and started touring together

Swa and xscape kick off queens of r&b tour in concord.

Then they signed up to do a reality TV show — the 2023 Bravo miniseries “SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B.” And everything drastically changed between the two groups.

“We fell out real bad,” Xscape’s Kandi Burruss remembers during recent Zoom interviews held with both acts. “And we all know it’s a lot of drama and craziness that comes with reality TV. We were friends with SWV for years — since back in the ’90s. But the tension that happens when you are shooting a show — and you have to address every little thing — sometimes things can go left. And we allowed that to happen.”

Yet, things that can go left can also apparently go right, since the two groups were eventually able to mend fences with each other and draw up plans for a hotly anticipated co-headlining tour. The roadshow — appropriately dubbed the Queens of R&B Tour — is set to launch June 27 at Toyota Pavilion at Concord. Showtime is 7 p.m. and tickets start at $41 (subject to change), livenation.com .

“We always love the Bay Area,” says SWV’s Tamara “Taj” George. “We are going to enjoy kicking off the tour there because we know that the fans will come out and really give us their perspective of what they loved about the show and how much they care about the songs and the history of both groups.”

And both acts certainly do have illustrious histories.

Formed in 1988 in New York City, SWV (which stands for Sisters With Voices) landed an album deal with RCA Records and used that platform to become one of the most successful R&B acts of the ’90s. The vocal trio — consisting of George, Cheryl “Coko” Gamble and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons — was a massive hit right from the very start, as the 1992 debut album “It’s About time” soared to triple-platinum heights on the back of the singles “Weak,” “Right Here” and “I’m So into You.”

Xscape experienced similarly great success after coming together, under the watchful eye of hitmaker Jermaine Dupri, in Atlanta in 1990. The vocal group, currently featuring Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris and Tamika Scott, released three platinum-selling albums — 1993’s “Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha,” 1995’s “Off the Hook” and 1998’s “Traces of My Lipstick” — which collectively birthed such hits as “Just Kickin’ It,” “Understanding,” “Who Can I Run To” and “My Little Secret.”

“We are so very excited to have so many dope vocalists on one stage together,” Burruss says of the co-headlining tour. “From the time the show starts until it gets to our performance, it’s going to be nostalgia. We are giving people the hits that they have been singing and knowing for so many years.”

SWV and Xscape are the headliners — and certainly the main attractions — but fans will also dig seeing opening acts 702, Total and Mýa on the Queens of R&B Tour lineup.

“You can’t forget the great songs that they contributed to the ’90s era,” George says of the support acts. “Mýa was a force with her dance moves and her crossover music. Total was just funky hip-hop. I loved Total — every song they did. And 702 is going to have a whole new meaning to it, because we just lost Irish (Grinstead) last year. So, having 702 out there performing there songs — with the legacy of Irish out there with us — is going to be special for the fans.”

These should indeed be very special evenings for the legions of fans who are still so passionate about this overall era of R&B music.

“I just feel like the ’90s was just a cool time for R&B. That was a decade where there were so many girl groups,” Burruss says. “Everybody was about really singing and having really strong harmonies. And R&B was really doing great on the charts. That whole era — that’s what we call real music, right?”

Well, Lyons, for one, is in certainly full agreement.

“I think back in the ’90s, everybody was real with music,” she says. “You really went in the studio and actually created something. And it wasn’t as microwaveable as it is now. We didn’t have the access that we do now to, like, Pro Tools and the different equipment they have. It’s so easy now — you can make an album in your house. But, back then, things were so different. Producers actually went inside and created something. And they catered that particular sound to whatever artist they wanted to give that music to.”

Another factor that gives ’90s R&B that sense of realness/authenticity is most certainly its connection to gospel music, with many of the performers having grown up singing in church.

“We stayed in the church as kids,” Burruss says. “When you start singing in the church it’s like you have a different type of soul when it comes to your music — an added flare.”

Both SWV and Xscape sound so thrilled as they talk about this upcoming roadshow that it’s strange to think that — not that long ago — the chances of the Queens of R&B Tour ever happening seemed remote at best.

The original plans for this co-headlining jaunt extend back to the last year’s “SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B,” a six-part reality TV mini-series aired on the Bravo channel that focused on the two groups as they prepared to hit the road together. (That series followed a popular Verzuz webcast that pitted the two bands against each other.)

Yet, things went sideways quickly during the TV show — amid ego-fueled bickering and trash talk — leaving viewers with the impression that a lengthy feud was more likely than any tangible tour dates.

Fortunately for the fans, the two sides were eventually able to put the bad blood behind them and get on with the show.

“I’m glad that we all came back together and really talked it out,” Burruss says. “They said the things that bothered them. We said the things that bothered us. We talked it through and got on the same page. And I’m so glad we did, because I hated that we had that negativity between us.”

That conversation between the two sides changed the whole equation, allowing SWV and Xscape to move past the drama and onto the music.

“I think everything just comes with a change of mind and a change of heart,” Lyons says. “A lot of stuff that we go through is very petty — and it only requires a conversation. That conversation was had with just the six of us and there was a resolve that came out of it. So, that made it easier for us to move forward and to just focus on the thing that the fans wanted — that’s for us to go on tour again. And that made us want to do it.

“We are in a great place right now. We are looking forward to this tour. We are looking forward to making history.”

With Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies continuing to lead the way, the first phase of the 2024 MLB All-Star Ballot presented by BuildSubmarines.com enters its final days with voting set to expire in less than 72 hours on Thursday, June 27 th at 12:00 p.m. ET. In the American League, the Baltimore Orioles have a Major League-high-tying six players currently in position to advance to the second phase of balloting. First baseman Ryan Mountcastle (1,400,373), who is seeking his first All-Star selection, has overtaken three-time All-Star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays (1,338,688) for the top spot at the position. Mountcastle joins his teammates Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson as Orioles to lead at their positions. In addition, rookie outfielder Colton Cowser has moved up into the top six outfielders, joining teammate Anthony Santander among the leaders, while third baseman Jordan Westburg continues to hold off Boston’s Rafael Devers for the second spot at the hot corner.

In the National League, Ketel Marte of the reigning NL Champion Arizona Diamondbacks (1,183,331) has overtaken Luis Arraez of the San Diego Padres (1,133,342) for the top spot at second base in a tightly-contested three-way race with Philadelphia’s Bryson Stott not far behind (931,165). Marte, an All-Star and the fan-elected starter in 2019, is attempting to join Paul Goldschmidt as the only players in franchise history with multiple fan elections. Arraez, a two-time Batting Champion, received the fan-elected start last season with Miami and would become the first Padres second baseman ever to win a fan election. Stott, vying for his first All-Star selection, is trying to join six of his Philadelphia teammates currently in position to advance to the second phase of voting.

Other highlights of the AL Ballot include:

• Giancarlo Stanton of the Yankees (717,023), David Fry of the Cleveland Guardians (706,262) and Ryan O’Hearn of the Orioles (687,374) are engaged in a tight race behind positional leader Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros (963,519) for the right to advance to the second phase of balloting. Stanton, who won MVP honors at the 2022 Midsummer Classic, is aiming for his sixth All-Star selection and third starting assignment after winning fan elections in 2015 (NL) and 2022 (AL), while Fry and O’Hearn are both seeking their first All-Star selection.
• Rutschman of the Orioles (1,638,425) continues to rank third overall in the AL while leading Kansas City’s Salvador Perez (1,033,099). The duo has a comfortable lead in front of New York’s Jose Trevino (388,072). Rutschman, an All-Star in 2023, is seeking his first starting assignment and could become the sixth consecutive different catcher to draw a start in the AL. Perez has eight career All-Star selections and has earned four fan elections (2015-17, 2021). The only AL catchers with at least five fan-elected starts include Hall of Famers Iván Rodríguez (12) and Carlton Fisk (7).
• Judge (2,375,199), who also led all MLB vote-getters in 2022, is being chased by his teammate Juan Soto (2,136,383) for the overall Major League lead. Kyle Tucker of the Houston Astros (1,002,803) ranks third among the AL outfield group with Steven Kwan of the Guardians (973,401) and Santander (808,100) close behind. Cowser (649,710) ranks sixth among the group with Alex Verdugo of the Yankees (512,766) and Cedric Mullins of the Orioles (512,352) still in the hunt to advance to Phase 2.
• José Ramírez of the Guardians (1,426,755) remains the leader at third base, while Westburg (846,352) has increased his advantage over Devers (602,047) for the right to advance to Phase 2. Ramírez, a five-time All-Star, is seeking his third fan-elected start (also 2017-18), which would match Sandy Alomar Jr. and Kenny Lofton for the most fan elections in team history. Westburg is aiming for his first career All-Star selection while trying to become Baltimore’s first starting third baseman since Manny Machado in 2016.
• Up the middle of the infield, Gunnar Henderson of the Orioles (1,551,124) and Jose Altuve of the Astros (1,233,299) remain in front. At second base, Marcus Semien of the host Texas Rangers (963,423) is still on track to advance with Baltimore’s Jorge Mateo (646,527) in pursuit. Dallas-area native Bobby Witt Jr. of the Royals (987,689) has the advantage for second place at shortstop with Anthony Volpe of the Yankees (537,398) and Corey Seager of the Rangers (490,326) following behind. Altuve, an eight-time All-Star, has earned five fan elections (2015-18; 2022) and already owns the most in team history. Henderson is trying to become the first Orioles shortstop to earn a fan election since Manny Machado (2018).

Other highlights of the NL Ballot include:

• Harper continues to pace all NL players with 2,037,523 votes to rank ahead of Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers (1,327,918) at first base. The two-time NL MVP, who led all of Baseball in fan voting in 2017 and paced the NL in 2015, is trying for his eighth All-Star selection and seventh fan-elected start. Harper is being challenged for the overall NL lead and the automatic starting bid by his Phillies teammate Alec Bohm , who is the leader at third base with 1,960,231 votes. Bohm, who could become the first Phillies third baseman to win a fan election since Placido Polanco in 2011, has a significant advantage over San Diego’s Manny Machado (545,259). The six-time All-Star is attempting to hold off Joey Ortiz of the Milwaukee Brewers (486,267) for the second spot in the NL’s tightest race to advance to Phase 2.
• Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers (1,773,404) has maintained his comfortable lead at designated hitter while garnering the third-most votes in the NL thus far. The two-time AL MVP is attempting to become the first player ever to claim four consecutive fan-elected starts at designated hitter. In another close NL race, two-time All-Stars Marcell Ozuna of the Atlanta Braves (940,851) and Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies (880,794) are separated by just over 60,000 for the right to join Ohtani in the second phase of balloting.

• Ohtani is joined among the NL positional leaders by teammates Teoscar Hernández and Mookie Betts . Hernández (1,412,877) surpassed San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr. (1,390,737) for the third spot among NL outfielders behind Jurickson Profar of the Padres (1,646,276) and Christian Yelich of the Brewers (1,506,639). An AL All-Star with the Blue Jays in 2021, Hernández is trying to give the Dodgers a fan-elected starting outfielder for the fifth time in six Midsummer Classics. Phillies teammates Brandon Marsh (1,003,261) and Nick Castellanos (857,186) round out the top six outfielders in position to advance to Phase 2 with Johan Rojas of the Phillies (677,753) and Cody Bellinger of the Chicago Cubs (556,912) following behind.
• Betts (1,680,658) remains out in front of Philadelphia’s Trea Turner (1,070,672) at shortstop as the pair track ahead of Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds (596,015). Betts, a seven-time All-Star and four-time fan-elected starter in the outfield, is looking to join Turner (2022) and Bill Russell (1980) as the only Dodgers shortstops to receive a fan election. Turner is trying for his third All-Star selection and second fan election.
• William Contreras of the Milwaukee Brewers (1,473,348) remains in front of the pack among NL backstops, while J.T. Realmuto of the Phillies (1,081,907) and Will Smith of the Dodgers (955,726) battle it out for the chance to advance to Phase 2. Contreras, a 2022 All-Star with Atlanta, is attempting to become the first Brewers catcher to earn a fan election in the NL, and just the second in team history along with Hall of Famer Ted Simmons (1983). Realmuto, a three-time All-Star, and Smith, an All-Star in 2023, are both competing for their first fan election. Any one of the trio would become the fourth consecutive different NL catcher to win a fan election, following Buster Posey (2021), Willson Contreras (2022) and Sean Murphy (2023).
