• Kahala Gold Coast* – Palatial estates of Oahu are nestled along this famous coast.
• Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve * – Formed within a volcanic cone, this beautiful bay is now a pristine marine sanctuary to hundreds of tropical reef fish species. Closed on Tuesdays.
• Halona Blowhole (10 minutes) – This natural wonder was formed thousands of years ago by molten lava running into the sea and is capable of spouting ocean spray 30 feet into the air.
• Nuuanu Pali Lookout (10 minutes) – One of Oahu’s most spectacular scenic views of the Koolau Mountains and the windward coast; also the site of Hawaii’s historic battle of Nuuanu.
• Byodo-In Temple (20 minutes) – Nestled in the lush Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, this stunning Japanese temple is surrounded by Koi fish ponds and beautiful tropical landscapes. Ring the bon-sho (sacred bell) for happiness and longevity!

Oahu Grand Circle Island Tour Features

Southern Coast Of Oahu & Blowhole

On the Oahu Grand Circle Island Tour, you will see all of the best that Oahu has to offer in just one day. You’ll drive around the island and see beautiful beaches, mountains, and more. The southern coastal route includes Earnhart lookout, a blowhole, a lighthouse, and miles of incredible cliffs and numerous craters. During the winter months, you may even be able to spot some whales just offshore.

North Shore Beaches & Haleiwa Town

Visit the world-famous Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach, and Waimea Bay. We will see all of these as we traverse the North Shore of Oahu. Your guide will have some personal stories from this area so you can really appreciate them. We will drive through historic Haleiwa town on our way to try some pineapple whip at the Dole Plantation.

Dole Plantation & Food Trucks

We will make numerous stops throughout the day for snacks, treats, drinks, and a lunch meal too. Our tour takes us around the island to find the tasty items Oahu is known for. Malasadas, macnuts, coffee, pineapples, and great food trucks are all on the menu. Get out there and try it for yourself.

Nuuaunu Pali & Scenic Overlooks

Oahu has a lot of beauty and it can take your breath away. We make stops during the day to make sure that happens. Nuuanu Pali is one of those, a historic site of a brutal battle that created the first king of Hawaii, Kamehameha The Great.

Byodo-in Temple (or Waimea Canyon)

There is a lot to see our our tour day and our Grand Circle Island Tour is packed full of great stops. Byodo-in Temple is a Japanese recreation of a 600-year-old temple in Japan. This is a beautiful stop and very unique.

Waimea Valley option provides a small waterfall where you can swim with life-vests only. Waimea Valley is a wonderful garden with a demonstration of a traditional Hawaiian village. ( Choosing this option includes lunch but some stops are removed due to time constraints.)

Historic Downtown Honolulu

The final stop of the day is in historic downtown Honolulu, site of the only royal palace in the United States. Iolani Palace, the courthouse where Hawaii 5-0 is shot and numerous historic churches are within a few blocks. Your guide will take you on a driving tour of the area and give you time to get some pictures too.

I broke my ankle while on vacation and rented a mobility scooter the rest of the trip. This company is ADA compliant on their Grand Circle Island Tour of Oahu. The driver was great! He told us about the history of where we were going and kept us entertained the entire trip. He also never acted annoyed that he had to use the bus lift to lift me down at each stop which was nice. I do not believe the normal tour is on a huge bus unless you need the ADA complaint. I've been to Oahu 4 times in the past and never really did a Circle Island Tour. This was one of my favorite days I had (despite it raining the entire trip). I enjoyed all the stops!

Recently did two different tours with this company during my vacation with my husband in Oahu. The Grand Circle Island Tour with Cousin Koko was the best. Not only was he professional and fun-spirited, he was patient and very informative. Learned so much about the different places we visited on the tour. Treated everyone on the motorcoach like ohana! The Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial Tour with Cousin Wes was great as well. Our tour through downtown Honolulu was great; definitely appreciated the history lesson! It’s imperative that while on vacation, one should learn about the history and culture about the place you’re visiting! Thank you Roberts Hawaii for making our tours memorable!

The guide we had was excellent. He had a keen knowledge and deep understanding of the history and culture of Oahu and all the places we visited. And he brought us to a great local spot for lunch.

Pick-up in Waikiki

As you drive by the iconic Diamond Head, you will quickly recognize Oahu’s most famous landmark. Take a look out the window and enjoy a bird’s eye view of surfers that like to ride the waves in the rugged waves along the slopes of this ancient volcano.

This natural wonder was formed thousands of years ago by molten lava running into the sea and is capable of spouting ocean spray 30 feet into the air. Get your cameras and phones ready to capture the sight of a geyser of ocean water shooting high into the sky.

Disembark from the bus and enjoy one of Oahu’s most spectacular scenic views of the Koolau Mountains and the windward coast. The Nuuanu Pali Lookout was also the site of Hawaii’s historic Battle of Nuuanu where King Kamehameha took control of all of the islands of Hawaii.

Nestled in the lush Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, this stunning Japanese temple is surrounded by Koi fish ponds and beautiful tropical landscapes. You will have ample time to explore the grounds and also ring the bon-sho (sacred bell) for your health, happiness, and longevity!

Make your way into a farm outlet featuring Hawaii’s popular coffees and macadamia nuts, and even sample the flavors of Hawaii. You will learn how the coffee and macadamia nuts are grown, and also have the opportunity to purchase unique snacks and gifts during your visit too.

There are two options available during your visit to Haleiwa. You can either A) enjoy 90 minutes of free time to enjoy at your leisure, or B) Spend 20 minutes at the Waialua Coffee and Soap Factory and have 40 minutes of free time in Haleiwa town. Don't forget to try some of the delicious food!

This famous destination also holds a large part of Hawaii's history in its pineapple fields. At Dole Pineapple Plantation, you can take a garden tour, navigate your way through the world's largest maze (for an additional fee), or enjoy a refreshing cup or cone of Dole Whip. (Closed on Wednesdays)

On your way back to Waikiki, your expert local Hawaii guide will drive through Downtown Honolulu so that you can see Chinatown, Iolani Palace, and the King Kamehameha Statue from the bus.

This was the best circle island tour I could’ve had. Our bus driver, Lola, was fabulous. There were six of us on this tour, grandparents, adult children and grandchildren. We all very much enjoyed the tour and all of the ... Hawaiian history that Lola presented. We saw the best of the island (Oahu), and she got us in and out of places before they were overcrowded. We had plenty of time at all stops and never felt rushed. I could not have asked for a better experience for my family on their first trip to Oahu. I’m highly recommend this tour to anyone considering a full day’s tour. Sure, you can drive it yourself, but you’ll never get the full experience of hearing the history and stories from someone who actually lives on the island. Do yourself a favor and take this tour.

We were picked up by Dan. He is a very informative guide. After picking up everyone we preceeded to do our tour. At our first stop he served us a purple dount and water. We visited 12 places and stopped at 6 places. Just ... before we hit each place he gave us a lot of information plus we got to watch a video. The bus was air conditioned and had a bathroom on board. It was worth the 9 hours. We got to see some amazing sites and got to see most of Oahu.

This tour was. a great experience! I really appreciated every stop we took throughout, especially Haleiwa town. This is surely a must do experience if you were planning to only stay in Waikiki!

Return time to Waikiki is 3-4 pm.

If you're staying outside Waikiki , you may want to meet at Ala Moana for the free parking at the shopping center. Otherwise, Uber & Lyft are active on Oahu and you may want to meet at the last stop, the Waikiki Beach Marriott, to bypass all the other Waikiki pickups. If arriving early via cruise ship , it could work for 6 am arrivals by transporting yourself (i.e. Uber or Lyft) 10-25 minutes (depending on traffic) to the last pickup, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort, by the 7:10 am pickup time. Note: the arrival time provided by your cruise ship may be a conservative estimate that already takes into account the disembarking process, unlike the arrival times on this site . If you're visiting from another island , due to the early start of this tour it doesn't appear any flights would ensure getting in on time for the scheduled pickups. Therefore, you would need to fly in the day before and spend the night. Flying out the same day as the tour wouldn't be an issue as the tour concludes in Honolulu around 4 pm; however, since the tour does not take luggage, you would need to leave your luggage at your hotel front desk when checking out in the morning, or there are various luggage store services in Honolulu. Alternatively, our small group Circle Island Tour which picks up at the airport at 8:15 am and drops off around 5 pm may be a better fit.

There are plenty of good places to eat in Haleʻiwa; think of it as the North Shore’s dining capital. There are also plenty of food trucks around Haleʻiwa town: expect to pay $8 to $14 for a plate.

Oahu Revealed:

Byodo-In Temple is the absolute essence of serenity. It's like taking a mini-trip to Japan. Backed by the gorgeous Ko'olau mountain range and fronted by a large pond filled with koi and curious black swans, it's impossible to not feel peaceful here.

Tropical Farms has a very pretty garden area and gorgeous monkeypod trees providing shade. They are very generous with the flavored mac nut samples and coffee. The variety of locally made soaps, oils, perfumes, honeys, jams and sauces make their central shop a great place to visit.

How much physical exertion is there?

This tour is open to everyone with any physical abilities. While there are multiple stops and ample time to walk around outside the vehicle, the amount of walking can be fairly minimal if desired.

However, due to there being many stops, wheelchairs and scooters are not permitted. Walkers, strollers, canes, etc. are fine.

Is seating assigned?

No, it is first-come, first-served. Those with earlier pickup times will get more choice in seating; if this is important to you, you can select an earlier pickup location at checkout (refer to the pickup schedule outlined above), rather than simply be assigned the one closest to your lodging. Note: when there are multiple locations near your lodging, you are otherwise automatically assigned the location with the latest pickup time.

Does the tour enter Waimea Valley?

This optimized tour does not because: 1) it requires a significant amount of time, including a 1.5 mile round-trip walk, taking time away from other key Circle Island stops, and 2) more often than not Waimea Falls is either dry or a roaring brown mess, not very scenic or safe for a dip; it also can be quite crowded. 

If you're looking to visit a waterfall during your Oahu trip, consider popular Manoa Falls which is only 10-15 minutes from Waikiki. Or consider heading to Maui for our Road to Hana Tour ; just a short flight from Honolulu (as low as $40 each way via Southwest or Hawaiian) and can be done in a day without spending the night.
