We were- pleased with all aspects of our trip. I want to especially comment on our guide that we had for  12 of the days of our tour, from  New  Delhi to Udaipur. His name was Durgesh. This young man was excellent!  He was very knowledgeable not only of the sites we saw and the history but about the many different questions we had regarding the economy and lifestyle of the Indian people. He was very kind and patient, a great listener, and also was able to enjoy our sense of humor!

We definitely would recommend other tours to be able to be fortunate enough to have Durgesh as their guide.

I've got names like Happy Times Travel, Hanson and Charming Holidays. Which is better and suggestions are most appreciated.

You have to be careful with some of these Chinese tours - some of them actually contract out to other tour companies.

As far as I know Hanson and Charming (thru Silkway Travel) are the more well known ones (haven't heard anything bad yet). I believe I went on one of the Hanson tours a long time ago, so not sure if it is still the same. A friend of mine just came back with XO Tours - not recommended.

I appreciate that Tours 4 Fun gets rotten reviews, David, but they are nearly all from English speakers who have made the mistake of booking the offerings without doing any research.

frankly most of the tours are "outsourced" to the local operator(s).

Chinese language tour = maximum number of sights in minimum number of days, All-you-can-eat Chinese buffet, etc. Cheaper than if you were to book the same hotels+transportation. But that's what Chinese clients want.
